Remembering September: While taking a bicycle near our home, I stopped to watch this great blue heron feeding in a grassy field. Idk what it was catching- - possibly insects. It was funny that just after the gulp, the insect sounds stopped! There's a large Heron rookery near us. I was hiding behind a tree, but sure it heard me, & surprised I could get this close. #Repost @cwirionphotography with @get_repost ・・・ Walking amongst some of the oldest and tallest trees in the Northeast United States is a very humbling experience. The Longfellow Pine located in Cook Forest State Park fell this last May due to a sudden microburst. Standing at nearly 184 ft, it was the tallest tree in the northeastern United States. Yet there are many more that are very close to its height in the Forest Cathedral area of Cook Forest State Park, one of the most secluded and beautiful spots in the state, pictured here. Some of these trees are between 2 to 400 years old and 170+ feet in height! Happy Saturday my fellow yogis! Ken the karmi here! Following up with my last post about relaxing with what is. Taking action with this post. I drive all over the state of Pennsylvania as part of my day job and happen to pass by this lovely spot once a week. This week I allowed my self to take pause, and do something for myself. I hiked down to a familiar place, Dutchman Falls, and practiced being present, in a most surreal place! Practice makes perfect, but it doesn't come easy. Being present for me comes with challenges. I just wanted to keep my eyes open to make sure no animals snuck up behind me, or people watching and thinking what is he doing, etc. So I tried to keep my brain as quiet as possible. If thoughts arose, I watched them as if they were a passing car. Next, tune in with the body, find peace within and focus on the breath. As time passed, I slipped into a peaceful place. I could have stayed for hours. Life goes on and so did the rest of the day. A beautiful reminder that you CAN make time for yourself and should every day. Even if for 5 minutes.
