Ferid x fem reader. Reader was part of Guren's squad but when they were fighting Ferid Guren left her and reader wanted revenge so ferid made her vampire and by some time they became married couple and imagine like guren meeting reader again but now as Ferid's wife and vampire
Hello,dear anon! Sure thing!
I made a scenario btw so it can be more intriguing.
Also Guren sounds stupid in this little scenario xD.
Ferid Bathory's wife that meets Guren after a long time
Tumblr media
Ferid Bathory
It was long ago that you gave up being a human. It was himself,Lord Ferid Bathory, who made you one citizen of the vampire world. You didn't regret it though.
You were very happy with your decision to become a vampire and you were even happier when you and Ferid got married and became an official couple.
You liked your husband, despide all the things he had done,he was actually very soft and careful around you, sometimes rather playful. You were a pretty good couple though, despite Krul hating Ferid, she always became more soft when it came to you.So you were accepted in the vampire world.
Guren had left you,if it weren't for Ferid's mercy(I can't believe I'm saying this lol),you would be dead by now.So you were very angry at all those humans who had left you behind. What if Ferid killed you? What if he made you his slave? What if anything, really, after all,it's Ferid Bathory who we're talking about.
As always, you were going places with your husband, when it finally came to you.Guren and his squad were in front of your faces. What where you going to do?
"Y/n.....Is that you? Am I seeing right?" Guren asks, not believing what he is seeing.
"It is....Guren....I see you're alive as well, after all." you say, looking at Guren with an angry look.
Ferid then gets his sword out, prepared to fight Guren because he knows how angry you've been at Guren all these years because he left you all alone.
"Why aren't you stopping him,y/n? He's going to attack us." Guren says.
Y/n,showing her fangs,responds to Guren.
"Why should I? I am one of them now,you should be afraid of me as well."
At your saying,Guren and his squad all get prepared for a fight, but little they know that they stand no chance in front of you two.
After you two finish them off,Guren curses at you.
"You stupid woman! You've became a vampire ,you left all your humanity behind! You shouldn't be alive!" Guren says.
"I was the one to leave behind humanity? Or did humanity leave me behind first? What are you saying?" you say, being full of rage.
After all of that, you and Ferid get back home and you two comfort each other.
"Y'know, maybe I shouldn't react like that....after all, they were my friends sometime." you say, looking at Ferid.
Ferid takes your hands into his and speaks.
"You shouldn't worry that much about them, after all, when they left you with me,they didn't care about you."
He then pulls you into a deep kiss, slowly putting you on the bed,to give you snuggles all night.
Thanks for the request! I hope you liked it!

I feel same way about ons as you :') I got into it because of gureshin it's been long since I already lost interest alas. I was wondering what do you think of characters like guren shinoa mika & krul? I really liked them back then but now I'm really disappointed with how author wrote them since past few years & weirdly fandom still tries to act as if nothing wrong with them but "people didn't read correctly"
hello!! :D
i'm sorry that so many others seem to be suffering the same way i am, but it's also a little reassuring. at least we're not alone in our misery.
and i think answering your question will be quite fun!
well guren, obviously i love guren. he's so sad and pathetic and tired and broken he's like a wet cat. the way he loves, the way he does terrible things and hates himself for it but does it anyway because he knows he has no other choice, it's so intriguing and painful. i love it. there's aspects that bother me when reading the novels, like when i cannot for the life of me grasp why he is doing what he's doing, or when he's being an arrogant asshole. but then i read the paragraphs my friends have written about him and love him with my whole heart again. i think they called it blorbo-in-law, that fits it quite well.
but i feel like i need to mention, i totally get why people got so mad with him recently. the way it was handled with the kids just immediately forgiving him again after one word was just... not good. i wasn't kidding when i said i wanted him to be more evil. it was a lot more exciting when him and mahiru first started that "let's betray everyone" stizzle and we weren't sure if he was actually going to harm anyone. it was serious, oh the suspense! now he's just our friend guren again. let him go batshit insane. please. he's not a saint, and he doesn't need to be.
at this point the only one i can trust to truly judge and be mad at him for more than half a panel is shinya. and that's a little odd. also he's currently in eeby deeby.
ohh shinoa! i used to like her a lot. it's only natural, i guess, since she is so similar to shinya. i always thought her to be a less extreme version of him - shinoa was also trained to be numb and hide herself behind jokes and smiles, but she seems to retain more of her emotions than he does. she's scared of dying, she's not much of a killing machine, and she is very much capable of developing actual romantic feelings for someone. wow, shinoa!
now, the problem is the toxic view of love that mahiru drilled into her head, and how the story will adress that, if at all. i don't mind her crush on yuu, it's her proof of not being dead inside or worthless or meant to be alone. but the way she acts on it is quite selfish. she's taking after her sister a little too much for my liking lately. "i will get yuu back, even if i have to kill mikaela to do it", alright miss mini mahiru. chill.
i would very much like someone to drill some sense into her head.
as for mika, he was my favourite for quite some time. i'm afraid i can't speak on him anymore, though, since he's kinda wiggled himself out of my field of interest. younger me would be going insane over his angel self... but now, i actually don't have anything to say about him. he exists. he's a massive scapegoat. i wish we could have seen him bond with shinoa squad.
krul is great solely because she's somehow the only female character who doesn't have a crush on some guy. hooray for vampirism! i don't have that many thoughts on her either, but i do adore her. she treated mika fairly well, she acted against vampire laws, she was more trustworthy than others. and god, that chapter where she was turned into a vampire was so awful, i loved it. more of an ashera-perspective probably, but still! as i've mentioned, i'm not a fan of her and all the black demons having been angels before, so i can't bring myself to look forward to their reunion as much as i used to. but i'd still like to see it.

OnS 120
Finished my annual (ish) OnS catch up and will just follow the story down whatever rabbit hole it's going right now. I always used to be so confused after every catch up, but I kind of like the direction Kagami is going right now in terms of Yu villain arc and having to weigh Shinoa Squad vs Mika.
I was always hoping it was going to come to Yu having to choose between Mika and Shinoa Squad because I hated how forced throwing Mika into the Shinoa Squad family was. I think this is something we've seen a lot more of in recent chapters too but Yu is really obsessed with the concept of family without building deeper bonds behind the meaning. I'm actually tired of how easily the Shinoa Squad in general uses the term because they throw it around when convenient and as a way to shackle each other to their decisions. Mika's concept of family isn't entirely rational either since he only cares about Yu, but I feel like its still better than calling practically anyone and everyone you've shared a friendly smile with a family member like Yu does.
That's why I was waiting for this Mika vs Shinoa Squad conflict to break out. It's been a while since i've sat down and reread the entirety of lets say Nagoya arc and beyond but from what I remember, Mika has always been alert and critical to the concept of being drawn into the Shinoa Squad family. I think it's always been hinted at that Yu was eventually going to have to choose a side, and maybe they'll come together in the end again, but it felt pretty natural to the story for him to have been forced to make this choice and it felt natural that he chose Mika since all the chapters building up to that point were of how Mika is his entire will to live (although this deserves a post of it's own cause this might be the First's will and it might not be entirely Mika that we know who is Yu's will to live but Mikaela as the First's son).
As for Yu's villain arc, I think his current mindset of "I can bring everyone back" is really naïve, but it fits his character of having no brain cells. What I want to delve into deeper is why he has no brain cells. Although OnS's story is messy, I don't think Yu being this dumb isn't a conscious decision. I feel like it has something to do with being artificially produced by the First and maybe being programmed to have such a one-track mind which works in Sika Madu's favor when Yu is focused on Mika. However, it could just be bad writing and I am making excuses to stay sane every time I see Yu having absolutely no thoughts in his head.
Finally, am I the only person who got the idea that Mika is communicating with someone in this panel in chapter 120?
Tumblr media
Like I wouldn't be shocked if he was plotting with someone to keep an alternative option available to Yu in case this plan fails. Mika himself doesn't want to sacrifice the world just to revive him, plus he doesn't want to see Yu become public enemy number one so I feel like he might be trying to work along with Yu's plan right now while also keeping another option open for Yu to return easily to Guren and Shinoa Squad later. I am pretty sure Yu was focused on the illusion wards in Ikebukuro so it was only Mika who killed the soldiers for food too, so this could be a conscious effort on Mika's part to keep the bloodshed on his own hands to ease Yu's return to the squad later as well.

I understand why Yuu is acting like that.. he lost everything that meant the most for him. He got to see Mika die. Remember when he committed suicide because HE wanted to save his family, HE wants to be the hero.. he does not want anyone to fell what he feels is sort lf like Guren thinking he needs to take everyone's guilt in order to make a better future blah blah... The thing between Guren and Yuu is that Guren learned to deal with the friendship because he did not know the feeling at the beginning, he did not have friends until he enter the school and met shinya an the others. Yuu on the other side had his family and lost them all so one can understand that feeling besides him because is his familly. So now he does not know how to rely in others because he is afraid of losing them and that is why i think he is being selfish. Guren is older and learned to manage those feelings (burning himself in the process) but if you look a little closer Guren did the same thing and that is why he wants to reverse it, he does not want the story to repeat he needs to make Yuu understand why that is the wrong choice ... But these are only my thoughts hehe i think this manga is a hell of a psychologic experience too like you need to think im every single detail from the inside and out..
First of all thanks for sharing your ideas dear anon but can we please don't mix Guren and Yuu now? I was saying this since last chapter too that the decision TODAY is on YUU, Guren has nothing to do with this current decision this is Yuu who must decides whethere save humanity or Mika who himself HATES to be save like this (yes if there was another way he also wished to live too something I seriously want to happen and there will be another way to can save him but with THIS way no Mika will just suffer more and more and will eventually hate Yuu at the end) Guren and Yuu's situation are completely and totally different Guren was insane the moment he chose and was alone Yuu is not easy really. So I think we really don't have to mix things together now because this is not about Guren anymore this is all about Yuu and how childish he is right now (like doesn't he think he can TALK about it first then act?! Even Yoichi asked him to stop so they can TALK) also yes Guren was alone before meeting his friends so Yuu was also alone before them too that's all

unpopular opinion…
Hear me out. I need to see Yuuichirou get hurt, badly. Before you say he’s gone through enough or let him be happy- listen. Character development. At the moment we really need it in my opinion. It sounds stupid but under the cut i’m attempting to explain why- along with mentioning minor to major flaws in writing that I don’t understand. NOTE: I LOVE OWARI NO SERAPH AND THIS IS NOT TO HATE I AM SIMPLY POINT SOME THINGS OUT PLEASE DON’T TAKE THIS TOO SERIOUS.
As we can see through the manga Yuuichirou has in a sense started to develop character wise backward. You would think a traumatic event like his would cause him to become more cautious and distrusting but if anything it’s the opposite. Ex 1. He knows Guren plotted to kill his family but still believes that there was a good reason. That in itself sounds stupid and most people including myself can’t understand that. I would like to mention a character is better liked when we can understand reasons behind actions but at this moment it’s like he is an overly happy protagonist that needs a reality check. Having blind hope only endangers people around him - and we have seen that in actions when his blind hope in Guren got Mikaela killed. Yet even after that he trusts him and in ch 115 - 116 he only fought back because he wanted to save Mika. Still you have to take in account that if that fact wasn’t mentioned or if Guren simply left out the idea that Mika could be saved Yuu would have gone along with it. He would not have even though to think twice of potential dangers or even other possibilities. He trusts someone who has given him more than enough reason not to so much that he refuses to fact check or attempt to call out Guren’s bs. You have to know that simply filtering info could be devastating to someone like Yuu right? (Bout to go off topic)
Another thing is the fact that this is Gurens mess. He should fix it himself but to make himself useful in a sense Yuu goes along with practically everything he says.  I have seen a lot of debate on how Guren and Yuu are acting the same and being selfish however in a previous (thread??) I talk about why saving humanity is a bad idea. Yes they are acting the same however in simple terms Yuu has better reasons. Let me explain. Guren ended the entire world to bring back what 7? People. He ruined the whole world. However in Yuu’s case it won’t affect anyone who is already dead. It won’t do much but I can understand why some of you see it as a waste but by saying that Guren is still someone who started this whole mess. If Guren hadn’t ended the world Mikaela would not have been turned and would not have been killed by him thus having to be saved instead of humanity. It’s all a massive butterfly affect that started from Gurens mistake and probably Sika’s planning but we are not going to get into that right now.  (Back on topic somewhat.)
Yuuichirou hasn’t really messed up badly either. before you say he loss of his family that wasn’t really his nor Mika’s fault it was planned. This is another opinion but having a perfect mc isn’t all that great either. You need to give a character regrets mistakes and messups. You could argue and say he has however all of those can be traced back to one of two sources. Guren and Shikama. By pointing this out I am saying that him being perfect makes him unrelatable and makes him feel like he always has the moral high ground even though sometimes no- most times the morally right thing to do isn’t the best thing to do. Sometimes the morally wrong reason is the best option to make characters more palletable to readers which is why based on recent chapters people have liked Yuu more and why most people in the fandom tend to like Mikaela over everyone else because he has flaws but that is reasonable and makes people gravitate to him based on the fact that he Is still growing.  Along with this something to note is that the mc of anything has an affect on people around them as everything is in fact centered on them. So in a sense the reason why Guren often gets defended so brashly is because he is on the side of the protag which means he has the moral high ground which most people assume is the right choice. Look at my wording ASSUME, which means not a lot of thought nor evidence is put into it. (ONCE AGAIN NOT HATING ON THE MANGA OR ANYONE JUST POINTING SOME THINGS I HAVE NOTICED WHILE I HAVE BEEN HERE IN THIS FANDOM. IT’S OKAY TO DISAGREE. ITS CALLED AN OPINION)
Anyway. To end this off the only reason I made this is because I have been holding it in for a very very long time. Like years long time. Anyway please do not send hate this is an opinion. we can have different opinions and disagree that is completely fine. If you would like to please send me your opinion or argue and discuss if you would like that’s also the point of this. Once again not hating or anything just stating some things.
(Hating on Kagami for the other bs he puts use through tho. at this point the manga is just a thousand year old slow burn.)
what?
bye have a nice day. Thanks for staying <3

Rant about shikama doji and hiragis-clan
I don't understand why people say that hiragis are victims from shikama, yes sure they were created from this bastard but still are the same shit as him.
Even if kagami say that are not good or bad characters we should realized that are ones because if that the case then we should justify every damn evil character in anime, manga, novel, movie, serie etc, for the simple fact "it's must be a reason or was for one reason". But kamagi want to redeem hiragis family so bad with mahiru shit and even kureto shit and even (for christ's sake) tenri, that fails completely (don't you think kagami that i didn't see it bcs you always try to portrait mahiru and kureto like poor angels and victim, and that apply to tenri and sheishiro, especially when it cames from mahiru bitch, (and yeah whatever, she is it, i just don’t care anymore)
It's simple hiragis are bad people they have nothing good at all. How they can be victims? What about all the people was in their hands? What are they?
They are incredible selfish people that think are the only ones that have right no matter what. If we are gonna justify that killing people all over again for the reason "is for humankind" is bullshit. It is only to satiate their thirst for power, and that has been seen both in the novel and in the manga, to be more and more powerful.
If the case is "justification" then we can justify shikama doji here too (extreme sarcasm). Shikama lost his precious son right (more sarcasm) so in this case would be..
Shikama doji lost his son so he is doing all of this to revive his death son, so he destroyed the world for that, and killed millions for his selfish goal, poor shikama (bullshit as hell, evil shit). Not evil character bcs he has a reason.
Mahiru she did all what she did to protect shinoa, she didn't have choice to became in demon to the purpose to save the world, used guren and destroyed him in so many possibles ways bcs she loved him so deeply and want to be her strength so he could save the world and killed shinya and the rest was a purpose to save the world, poor mahiru (god more bullshit) (and for let it clear I'm being sarcastic especially with this evil bitch). Not evil character bcs she had a reason.
Kureto he is a man that care for his subordinates and wants to created a world were they live in piece, then he killed them if they disobey him or for experimention and laugh about it, he see guren like a comrade, yet he tortured for days and his father, he care for shinoa, yet he tortured her and then threat her to killed her, kids that he brainwashed them to became soldiers, used in experimentation and like spies with vampires, and say that experiments don't have right, and all of this is just like mahiru is for save the world, poor kureto (don't let me start it again is more bullshit). Not evil character bcs he has a reason.
Shikama doji, Mahiru, Kureto = shitty evil disgusting piece of crap.
And of course I don't forget tenri hiragi and sheishiro are others shit evil disgusting piece of crap as much hiragis's clan is being do it since 1200 years.
Mahiru is not a damn savior, she made genocide and still does, to the simple reason is to "save the world"?, bcs was possessed by two demon Is the excuse? Vampire crap? All of that was just adhere to her thirst for power. Shinoa? She didn't give a crap about her, shinoa is a damn victim from both hiragis (especially from mahiru and shikama doji) and always put her in dangerous situation guren? Where? Bcs she goes just to tortured him knowing that would be trouble from him, even so she didn't care and was manipulating him since 5 and after ten years and more having now 24 to save the damn world? (And this is the most abusive and destructive relationship i've ever seen and without love from both parts, don't talk to me about guren love her is no more than emotional abuse) Shinya that she cared from him, after massacred him bcs she hated him so bad, and the rest even that was a purpose to save the world? ( i dont know at this point if I have to laugh or cry for all the things I've been reading and I can continue, even if kagami in the end put that like a reason, and i wouldn't be surprise if he try to revive mahiru, bcs she was the most innocent victim and the most perfect girl ever).
Like she loved guren the most so she pushed him to become more powerful, even if that means eliminate, his followers, his family and his most precious friends,("elimate your weakness your pathetic attachments bcs that doesn't let you be strong", but he has to be attachment to her lol psycho bitch) which actually was her plan and that not apply in save the world, was just eliminated all what guren loved to have her for herself, (psycho bitch that enjoy the pain she caused to her "most beloved man", don't get me started in how she laughed and enjoyed when his father died and his friends and all was things she hated) because that was her great love for him, to be her strength to face everything that would come and that want of the good things guren had was met her when she was a child, even so she saw all ichinose clan like trash, even guren, people forget that she wants her father goes to them to piss him off (which that means dead flag to them, the worst that could happened to guren was met her like seriously even if saito planned it and helped her to get her revenge still was the worst to guren and goes after someone else for being an insane girl to hurt a sweet child, yeah so sweet and innocent cute girl) And even using shinoa to manipulate others by making them believe that she was always a poor innocent and sweet girl who suffered a lot, and as long as she used shinoa in that it gave her the right to commit genocide and so much garbage that she has done, with the purpose is for a good reason and it is justifiable, such as reading that it was okay to kill Shinya and the others because otherwise tenri would have done it, or that she has a good humanity in her that has done everything she has done to save the world, or that her demonic self was still mess up with her when she turned on in vampire (lmao mahiru always was her true self, she just love power more than anything in the world) and again she is not a savior or is helping guren to keep him alive to give him a reason to live, because guren is not free to live under his terms, but under her terms, is always being like that since the moment he met her; everything in Mahiru is nothing but false in her, false emotions, false feelings, the human mahiru is nothing but a hideous monster, A human monster that want to surprass god but she can't even do every single shit without making every single life misery. (And used saito helps, he gave her what she wanted and even so this other shit said she was crazy since the beginning and was terrible person, so a great genius that made all by herself is not true). kagami doesn't more than blame all in her demons, which in reality she was a rotten child, and a teenager one, she always was greedy and always was about herself no other one, not even guren, or her sister
Kureto is the same as her, he thinks bcs he had a high status can make with people and children whatever he wants, maybe has some sanity,(and has sanity doesn't make someone weak for god's sake and i talk here for guren not kureto) and is not vengative since child like mahiru that was a damn vengative monster since child with the idea to make kill all ichinose clan and a sweet innocent boy where she started to abused and destroy him mentally, emotionally, psychologically and Physically she was and is a psycho. And i understand that no everybody can survive in the world, and are difficult choices to make but killing people to created weapons using children to overpower hiragis that is not even an option, he is an abusive and a tortured bastard still is the same shit and a terrible person.("those who killed without a reason are evil", yeah to overpower you, bcs you are an angel. "Kill me or save me", pathetic bastard)
Hiragis especially mahiru, kureto say that want to make a better world but humans can't do it without breaking any taboo; there must be a price to human to pay, hiragis who is in control, desire for more power to become the greatest.. Doesn't care about destroying the world. How egoistic. Hiragis like demon- self centric. They don't care enough about people around them that is why they say that love, family and friendship is weakness.
That is why all of hiragis are all the same. They seek for power--true power, they want to dominate everything even it if was humankind. They don't really care about human in general, if they can gain more power just from destroying japan, then why not? They can just rebuild it by the power of seraph and make it a better place, with more powerfull human being etc. If its cursed then why they're so greedy, abusive, and manipulative towards others? If they know it was their sins why they don't even try to change your own destiny, but you just follow your own selfish desire and make everyone lifes miserable. How can you rebuild your own idealism about world when you can't even control your greedines for power? I get it ONS world are more like gray area that you can't even know what is right or wrong--but doesnt mean humanity never exist you know. People always blaming guren for everything because he is selfish prick that doesn't want his family to be gone forever, he still a child in heart that never tried to move on from grieving his own family, and destroyed humanity just for his selfishness. Dude, aren't Mika and Yuu are the same? They want their family to still alive, and they want to take revenge for people who have killed their family, while guren? Did he ever tried to seek any revenge on hiiragi's family? He was, but never actually do it in the end and still pitied THEM. @lottenoir
Is incredible how hiragis selfishness can be easy justifies and be poor victims in all of this just because they were created to be used for bastard shikama doji, but I think is so much hipocrasy. (kagami just want to portrait hiragis like victims and it's look like it works at least on the fandom for shikama but their creator is as shitty as mahiru, kureto, tenri and sheishiro and fails so bad in that, he can't even make a descent plot and ruins good characters thank to deal to hiragis shit)
Shikamadoji, mahiru, kureto, tenri, sheishiro= disgusting piece of shit that must be eliminate for good.
Victims (real ones) guren, shinya, shinoa, mito, goshi, sayuri, shigure, and all the people that suffered and died in their hands. (i don't even gonna mention yuu and mika like victims here bcs honestly they aren't either at this point, are the same has hiragis in greedy selfishnes and don't give a crap about the world and people in general)
The hiragis do not have an ideology to protect, nor allies to trust, they see fraternal and family ties as mere tools, hiragis like shikama are pathetic. For them, to survive in that cruel world, nothing is needed but power. Ideals and ideology are just worthless talk.
That is why I see characters (guren, shinya guren's squad) that despite living in a cruel world, know why living, even in a dark world, life goes on, it is not always about becoming the most powerful, and killing to give themselves power, it is about survive, live, is about that they have a mission, things to protect, the ideals of each one, their hopes, those are the ones that make their ideals come true, they sacrifice their lives for others, knowing that many will die on the way, nobody can turn off that last light, in the that those characters believe. (Schwarzesmarken words).
Ons has a Gray Area, they are character that get in there but those characters goes more to be good person with mistakes and flaws. And those characters have belief, values, try to get better and have feels and emotions towards others.
Hiragis and others one (like yuu, mika, shikama, saito, ferid, krul, etc) goes to the area of being bad or evil characters no matter how much kagami try to portrait them or redeem them and is just like that, most of those characters just focus in their damn selfishness crap not other people or the world, and most of the vampires are as shit as hiragis. (don't you think kagami that i don't see how you continue to try so bad to redeem shitty hiragis, with that crap about "the hiragis are not to blame bcs they were created to be used" bulshit as hell, put yourself together man, your plot about them and others characters is horrible, with so many holes and incongruities, but oh well keep going with your poor mahiru, kureto, hiragi family and others, instead to give them justice to the only decent characters that you still have and still ruin, no so many bullshit about "there aren't good or bad characters" keep going to show the bad characters like good ones, and good characters like evil shit lol, what a lie, and you say guren is your fave? Lol poor guren, you not even give justice to him nor shinya, I couldn't even with catastrophe at 16 and your bullshit with mahiru and the others like no one was better than her, not even the other girls, the perfect one and the insignificant others girl, poor the other girls, that can't be as godnees as her, and people in general, oh and your bullshit about guren was weak when actually is not, and has to be in the most destructive and abusive relationship, actually not even was one at all, just emotional abuse, not love, not exs, and it sickness even think about their love with mahiru than didn't do more than abuse a DAMN GOOD MAN like guren and others people and make guren look to everyone like the evil character thanks to her, the most horrible murder, genocide bastard, but no one blame her instead blame guren for all her shit and one can't see guren is being abused from her since child, where is the love? Please give me a break, and thanks to you that keep going with her bullshit guren is the most hate one, and whatever at this point I just don't care anymore is so many stupid things about it and is just sickness and no funny at all)
To hiragis being weak don't let you became strong but can we appreciate this instead all their bullshit..
You're going to meet many people with domineering personalities: the loud, the obnoxious, those that noisily stake their claims in your territory and everywhere else they set foot on. This is the blueprint of a predator. Predators prey on gentleness, peace, calmness, sweetness and any positivity that they sniff out as weakness. Anything that is happy and at peace they mistake for weakness. It's not your job to change these people, but it's your job to show them that your peace and gentleness do not equate to weakness. I have always appeared to be fragile and delicate but the thing is, I am not fragile and I am not delicate. I am very gentle but I can show you that the gentle also possess a poison. I compare myself to silk. People mistake silk to be weak but a silk handkerchief can protect the wearer from a gunshot. There are many people who will want to befriend you if you fit the description of what they think is weak; predators want to have friends that they can dominate over because that makes them feel strong and important. The truth is that predators have no strength and no courage. It is you who are strong, and it is you who has courage. I have lost many a friend over the fact that when they attempt to rip me, they can't. They accuse me of being deceiving; I am not deceiving, I am just made of silk. It is they who are stupid and wrongly take gentleness and fairness for weakness. There are many more predators in this world, so I want you to be made of silk. You are silk. C. JoyBell C. Do you honestly think guren and mahiru will not end up together? (or die some tragic, romantic death) I ship gureshin but as far as canon goes there is no hint guren will end up alone. When you mention guren doesn't want to be with her in the last ask I feel it's subjective. He's a big tsundere and he's constantly an unreliable narrator (pushes friends away, shoulders an apocalypse as if he was solely responsible for it, lies to friends about mahiru). I feel the story atm does show mahiru's love for guren turned toxic but I don't think it was meant to be that in the beginning.
In the end I think kagami might round back to the life they could have had together with her being a "simple girl" and guren not needing any extra power to protect her. (this either by them dying and dreaming back to that day or her being somehow revived as a human with no demon or other influence and guren too)
As for Shinya I mean obviously guren cares a lot about him but I feel romantically he has 0 chance in canon and it's all baiting. Do you seriously see shinya as a possible romantic interest in the end, even if subtle? I don't think kagami dares tbh :/
I honestly think that and it’s definetly not only me or only Gureshin shippers. There are friends of mine that aren’t Gureshin shippers that don’t see any romance between the two. Because Mahiru is a threat and the light novels don’t spare to remind the reader of that fact.
I think what we have to keep in mind is, that first of all, ONS isn’t a love story but a story about family. And this shows by the story constantly putting friendship and family over all lusting/romantic relationships. The moral of the story is, that you need your family, you need people to support you. This is why Guren chose his friends and family over Mahiru constantly in the light novels and this is the reason why Yuu is like a brick when it comes to romance and rather collects family members like pokemon.
Why I say, Guren chose his friends and family over Mahiru. He was offered multipe times to come with her, and yet every time, he declined because there were other responsibilities he had to fulfill. Till the end, he doesn’t abandon his friends and he even choses to fight Mahiru for them and the world.
In resurrection we learn how happy Guren is to see his friends and how little reaction he has towards finding out Mahiru is still alive. He didn’t even think about her death until she appeared again.
It’s this lack of reaction towards Mahiru, that speaks for itself. Yes, Guren can be a tsundere, but with his friends he shows this affection in what he’s doing. Even when his words can be harsch, he is always shown secretly smiling when he’s around them. Also we also get some parts of the narrative that show us how happy Guren is. Unless when he’s with Mahiru. If he was supposed to like her, shouldn’t there be any description that he likes spending time with her? Shouldn’t he waste a thought about her death? About her as a person? We have never seen Guren smile or feel comfortable with her around apart from the times they were children.
It’s not what Guren says, but how he acts. Even though we don't have direct thoughts from Guren, we still have how the light novels are written and there is a lot in the description to tell the reader how Guren feels and thinks about people and situations without directly stating it.
Though Guren told Mahiru two times he hated her, and this was both, when she was responsible for him turning into a demon (book 4) and when she killed his friends (book 7). Also in Resurrection it says that Guren knows he and Shinya are both victims of the same monster. Guren directly compares her to Shinya by saying that it’s easy to talk to Shinya and that he doesn’t have to be afraid of him.
What you are describing as an outcome, would need Guren still wanting to protect her, isn’t it? When we look at the current events, the plan of “resurrecting humanity” was never stated to be connected to Mahiru. I know a lot of people claim that Guren might do this to still save Mahiru, but neither in Resurrection nor Vampire Reign was this even mentoined. Even Mahiru tells Guren “do it for Shinya”. Guren’s story isn’t anymore about saving Mahiru. He failed that in Catastrophe at Sixteen. Resurrection started to build up a new goal for him and this is the “Resurrecting humanity” thing to make up for his even greater guilt and keep everyone save.
Guren isn’t a person that would be happy with a single person. Guren needs his family. And he wants to make everyone equally happy, just like Yuu. I didn’t mentioned this in my previous post, but we see with Mito that Guren is also willing to give his body for a friend in need. And this scene is even repeated twice. Guren would do everything for a friend. Mahiru isn’t special. She was just the friend in most need at that time.
So was this planned from the start that their love would turn out toxic? I’m not sure. Though Guren clearly didn’t want to be with her since book 1. I can’t say if Guren was supposed to kill Mahiru in the end, I can’t say if he was supposed to love her but decieded not to when the story progressed. I just can say that I trust Kagami to not pull a “how I met your mother”. Though I sometimes fear he could do that as the writing quality decreased lately. But he said in one of his last interviews that the end of the story is not decided yet, because characters keep progressing. And this gives me hope that he will write an ending that fits into the narrative of his characters and not bulldoze their personalities and needs.
So, if you say that there is no hint that Guren would end up alone... um... so why does that mean he has to end up in a romantic relationship? This brings us back to the beginning. ONS isn’t a story about romantic love or finding a partner. It’s about family. And if Guren wouldn’t end up alone or dead, he will end up with his chosen family. The people he actually cares about. People don't need romantic relationships to be happy. People need others that care for them and vice versa. And having just one single person that you put all your expectations and needs (including sexual needs) on might not be the solution for everyone. And the story if ONS emphasizes this so often by putting a much much higher value on family than any sexual attraction. (And this comes from a person that writes romance stories :D)
For example we see that very well with Kureto. He kisses Aoi, and the next second he calls for Shinya and Guren because these are the people he trusts and basically lets Aoi standing in the rain. Wasn’t that romantic to be honest.
So what does this mean for Shinya? Guren loves his friends most, and Shinya is THE special friend among them. As this is a story about family, and I think there won’t be any romantic couples in the end, at least I feel that Guren and Shinya - as long as they survive - will end up together as super bros in a bromance where they well hang out even though Shinya annoys Guren to no end but he will be happy he's around and alive. Along with the rest of the Guren squad and Yuu, and his squad... Guren's and Shinya's love for each other is super platonic after all. Yet, it’s what I yearn for in a romantic relationship, because their trust and unconditional love is way more important than sexual attraction. All I want is for them to hug an realize they both need each other. That’s all.

I can't bring myself to analyze chapter 108 so instead today I'm going to rewind a bit. (In which I'm a simp for Shinya I overanalyze and probably piss off a few people and overestimate Shinya's importance to the plot.)
A long, long time ago (I'm too lazy to find where, but I think it's before they go to Ferid's mansion, post-Nagoya) Kureto said something to Guren about how Shinya was special and how he would be important for rebuilding humanity or something along those lines. Why Shinya? What about him is so special? He's just some random kid who the Hiiragis bought from his parents because they needed the money and status, apparently (there's a lot of questions I have about that, but that's for another time). Had any of the other children won instead of him, would they be considered special too, or is it merely a coincidence that Shinya won and has some special things going for him?
That's all rhetorical, by the way. I was rereading chapter 83 because I hate myself and I miss Shinya, and I came across this panel:
Tumblr media
The term "mate" implies some sort of deeper relationship than "married" does. You know. Like the Hiiragis were looking for someone to pair Mahiru up with and for them to have strong kids or whatever. This could also just be Byakkomaru's language and the fact that he's really, really, really old coming into play, but still, the question stands. Why would they be looking for a good mate for Mahiru among a bunch of low-born children, assuming that the parents of all the kids received the same things Shinya's parents got? Wouldn't someone from another powerful family be a better match? Hell, I hate to admit it, but Guren would've been a good match for Mahiru, considering that they seem to already have some sort of relationship and he's skilled, despite coming from the Ichinose family. Also, there seems to be some girls there (unless it's just Yamamoto and Kagami's thing for guys with long hair coming into play) and I don't think it's ever been explicitly stated that they bought a bunch of boys (I may be wrong).
But what if the point was never to find a "mate" for Mahiru? What if it was just for the Hiiragis to get their hands on Shinya?
There's some things we already know about him that set him apart from other people. He's one of the few able to wield a Black Demon series weapon, and at least one of the requirements for that is having been experimented on by the Hiiragis, but there are requirements for the surgery that most people don't meet. And even after the surgery, there's only a 20% chance the person will successfully get a contract with the demon. Additionally, there's also that whole thing in cat16 with him being the only one who isn't resurrected, and Ferid suddenly appearing out of nowhere and uncharacteristically agreeing to help Guren. You can't tell me that's a coincidence.
Something about Shinya was special from the start. He was picked alongside other "talented kids" to be able to mate Mahiru, but it seems that there were quite a few children picked out. How is it that he was picked, one out of many, and was also one of the few who fit the criteria to be able to successfully pair with a Black Demon? It's also implied that, at that age, Shinya was already skilled at separating himself from his emotions and was also quite smart, considering how Byakkomaru says that's how he had stayed alive.
But if all this stuff about the Hiiragis having picked him from the start were true, then what was the point of having Shinya go through he competition at all? Oh, I don't know. Conditioning, a method of control, a way of implanting the idea that Mahiru is good and something worth fighting for. Mental damage, or maybe simply because they are Hiiragis. (lol)
Even if all this is false, they must've seen something for him to get picked to possibly marry Mahiru.
I must also point out that all of those who have or have had Black Demon series weapons have all had some sort of plot relevance (or Kagami tried to make them seem plot relevant, at least).
Since I'm rereading chapter 83, I'm legally required to include this panel:
Tumblr media
I must emphasize how this panel gets more than a quarter of the page.

so, you like yoichi?
here's a list of why yoichi saotome, is not your "uwu soft boy".
1.
Tumblr media
he literally states that he wants lacus to suffer. no, no- not kill him, make him suffer just like you insufferable bastards calling your uwu baby.
he is short. yes. well done, he is not as "menacing" to the eye like maybe yuu or kimizuki, but i will gladly put money in to say he is more aggressive than both of them. he's mature, collected and has an extreme sense of awareness which i think you guys overlook.
2.
Tumblr media
this picture explains itself.
"yoichi protection squad" hello??? he just subdued his own black demon. i don't understand why you all reduce him to this small little naïve child that blindly follows his squad.
he THREATENED guren on several occasions. the lieutenant colonel. he aimed his weapon at a superior, he stands up for what he knows is right. so, i don't think he needs your soft boy edits with fluttery rainbows everywhere.
3.
Tumblr media
he wants to protect his friends. he watched his sister get murdered whilst doing nothing, which is why he's overcome with this great sense of strength and mindfulness. yoichi doesn't want to leave his friends like he left tomoe.
4.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
these pictures explain themselves.
5.
kimiyoi is *chefs kiss* yes, but don't go and use them as your "uwu feminine boy" and your "òwó tall stronk man" because i will boil your sinuses and force them down your throat.
same goes for all the ships in this series, stop feminising one and emasculating the other. they're their own people and it's like we've not read the same fucking novels.
can i see shinya in heels? absolutely. do i feminise him over that? no. because it's normal for men to wear heels.
and final note. i love trans hc's don't get me wrong. but headcanoning yoichi as trans for being uwu and smol is the most invalidating thing ever. don't do it. from a trans guy. don't.
if you have better reasons for it, or personal self project that's okay, but smol uwu boys are not always trans. that's a harmful stereotype.
so.
that concludes my rant about why you should let yoichi kill lacus slowly and, no need to baby him, he would definitely hate that. since he quite literally expressed that babying hatred that gekkoin used against him. :].

Chapter 110 thoughts.
Do not read if you can't stand me going off about why I hate Guren or Mahiru as characters. Do not read if you don't like to see rants about badly written het romances and how it functions to completely ruin female characters.
I genuinely despise both these characters. They are so badly written oh my God. You assholes deserve each other. I've never disliked a character so much that they'd be right under Dolores Umbrage on the fictional characters that legit piss me off list. I don't care how misunderstood or ambiguous they are, they are nasty, nasty people.
Tumblr media
Lmao wtf is that nickname???
Tumblr media
Same Mika same!!!
Tumblr media
Please Yuu, for the love of Mika and your team, develop a sense of self preservation. Please!!
Tumblr media
My best girl!!! She exists!!!!
Tumblr media
You smooth mofo!!! God as much as I hate how much your crush ruined your entire character and personality I LOVE when the playfulness comes out!!!
Tumblr media
My other best girl!!!! I love you!!
Tumblr media
Awwwwww my fucking heart!! Go on, admit that you absolutely love this adorable widdle baby...please.
Tumblr media
So thoughts,
I still don't care about Guren and Mahiru, I don't really care for the whole troubled hot character who uses their trauma and "secret plans" to be absolutely vile assholes and are shown actively enjoying abusing kids till the plot requires a shocking twist. Like none of the adults that suddenly switched sides were ever made redeemable or particularly likeable. The only thing about Guren that was initially likeable was that he looked like a discount Roy Mustang mixed with a discount Levi and seemed to be mysterious. He has none of their charisma or mystery whatsoever and comes across as this convenient slate for the writer to dump all his contrived plot points and deus ex machina on. Mahiru is just irredeemable tbh, you get one moment of her being troubled and tortured and then it's back to her being a massive bitch. Where's the damn growth? Oh I beat the shit out of my innocent little sister because I care for her. Fuck off.
Krul is the best parental figure in this entire series and she's a vampire with next to no morals and violent tendencies. Like the fact that KRUL is the best parental figure says something!!
I've basically stopped waiting for Mitsuba to get anything so even crumbs feel like a joy. But if I'm being honest, from a writer's perspective, if I had nothing that I could do with her I would her killed her off or made her leave with some other crew. She's a wasted character and isn't even dignified with a memorable death. Instead she gets to rot in the background.
See, I'm not against the Shinoa and Yuu ship, I just absolutely hate how badly written it is and the fact that they ruined her character kills me (This is aside from the fact that as a gay person the queerbait is strong in this series and they literally just fucking recycled all of mikayuu into this ship). So yeah it was nice seeing her be her hilarious troll self again this chapter and actually reviving the thing I liked about their dynamic in the first few chapters. That being said, maybe someday her character and personality wouldn't just be "Yuu's neglected side-piece".
Seriously, I like ships where the characters are equals and undeniably affected by each other to the point that they became a major part of each other's life and character arcs. Like seriously, skk, sherliam, sormik, revy/rock, and even mikayuu are all these ships. The characters impact each other deeply and lead to their growth and development but the character retains their core ideas and personality, just with some development. In this pair however, you've got Yuu showing about as much interest in her as a limp fish and Shinoa acting like a lovesick weirdo who can't get a hint. It's awfully degrading to her character who was all about being independent and strong and didn't need anyone. Yea one may argue that she learns about trusting and relying on people (which imo she needs) but that's not the case here. Anything she achieves is because "I love Yuu". Not because she has people like her squad to rely on, not because she has a sweet deep friendship with Mitsuba, not because she has rekindled any broken bonds anywhere. Lol no, she's strong cause she is in love. What character assassination.
Anyway.
Mika...boy, you need to pick a form and stick to it. You've still got at least 2 more transformations left and I'm sick of you dying every ten chapters.
Yuu, baby, you need to work on your self preservation and all those really distressing coping methods. I also think you might be bipolar. Very very bipolar.
Anyway, filler chapter was filler, I still have no idea where things are going, I still think the series is a massive queerbait sundae, everyone needs therapy, Guren and Mahiru can suck on a cactus and Mitsuba and Krul are best girls.

Owari no Seraph — An Analysis of Shinoa and Mitsuba’s Friendship
(Warning: A long post that nobody asked for and I had to make the panels tightly packed into one image each due to the Tumblr 10 images per post restriction so I am not taking responsibility for any brain aneurysms I might cause. I am serious, it’s really LONG.)
(Why? Because this cursed manga needs more girl power.)
(Note: Friendship)
We always speak about friendships like the ones between Yuu and Mika, and Guren and Shinya but we rarely talk about the one in the girls’ side, which is the the friendship between Shinoa and Mitsuba. It is the only female friendship we actually have in Owari no Seraph since we haven’t seen Chess and Horn ever since Nagoya arc, and we barely get to see how Mito, Sayuri and Shigure act with each other as friends when the topic of conversation is not Guren.
I agree that Shinoa and Mitsuba’s friendship is cute and funny. However, as I reread the manga I realised that their relationship is deeper than that, that each contributed into the development of the other to a degree but at the same there is a wall that keeps them from growing closer but of which none of them is aware of, and how their distance has been exacerbated by some faults that makes me believe their relationship is deteriorating.
So I decided to make a deep analysis with some theorising about their friendship throughout the manga where I make it sound more complex than the sexualised joke Kagami has made of it :D
The first time we had a glimpse of their friendship is of course when Mitsuba debuted in chapter 8 of the manga as the fifth and last member of Shinoa squad. She is first seen complaining to Guren about why was she placed in a squad full of rookies being most visibly infuriated by the fact that the “sarcastic airhead Hīragi Shinoa” was chosen as the squad leader instead of her. When Shinoa appears, she addresses Mitsuba as “Micchan” (or Mi-chan/Mitsu/whatever translation) and mocks her, angering Mitsuba more and driving her to manifest her weapon to fight Shinoa. This scene shows that they have known each other before Shinoa squad was established. The question was when? Shinoa described her life before the catastrophe occurred as “living under a rock” and how she “didn’t see or speak with anyone at all” in the afterword of volume 17, which can be further proved by the events of the Catastrophe at 16 light novels. Shinoa and Mitsuba were bound to meet because of their statuses as Hīragi and Sangū respectively but Shinoa was always kept in the shadows by her family so it’s quite unlikely that they have met as children before the catastrophe.
The only possibility for them to have met is for military reasons rather than for family reasons. In chapter 3, before Shinoa squad was formed, it was revealed that Shinoa is part of the vampire extermination unit but we don’t know for how long. Considering that Mitsuba used the argument of joining the vampire extermination unit at the age of thirteen to explain why would she make a better squad leader than Shinoa, it’s safe to assume that Shinoa joined later than Mitsuba. However, Shinoa received Shikama Dōji as a weapon in 2012 when she was 7 (6 if Kagami could do maths but whatever...) so I doubt the army would let a capable and armed person have a relaxing life for so many years when she could be used for fighting instead since there is a shortage of soldiers (unless Shinoa used her power as a Hīragi, which sometimes works in her favour, to avoid military duties). Moreover, I doubt that the army would place an unexperienced soldier straight into the extermination unit, which is the most dangerous unit in the Japanese Imperial Demon Army, regardless of their status, especially a child. So even if Mitsuba said she joined this unit when she was 13, there is a small chance that she has been a soldier before that but was tasked with easier jobs like being a wall guard and the same thing could be applied to Shinoa. In other words, it’s likely that these two girls have known each other for a good number of years before the timeline of Vampire Reign began.
The reason why I want to believe that Shinoa and Mitsuba met a considerable time ago before the start of the series is because of Shinoa’s attitude towards her. Shinoa has lived a life lacking family love and social interaction which caused her to become apathetic and unemotional up until the formation of Shinoa squad. But somehow there is this girl, who is the only one whom Shinoa gives a cute nickname, has a lot of interest on teasing her and feels comfortable enough to barge into her shower and be seen naked when that is a situation where a person is really vulnerable. I mean, considering Mitsuba’s personality, it’s understandable why Shinoa feels so free to act like that around her but still it’s emotionally detached Hīragi Shinoa we are talking about.
Tumblr media
(From top to bottom, and left to right: chapters 8, 9, 19, 29 and 43)
One thing that bothers me is how Kagami made it look like as if Shinoa was completely empty before being influenced by Yuu’s ‘kindness’ when that is not true at all and Shinoa was able to show a caring side before that.
One example of this is in the same chapter where Mitsuba debuted, shown in the top-left panel. In this chapter Mitsuba is acting so bossy and arrogant here that to be honest anyone would find her annoying. However, Mitsuba’s constant shouting about battle formation is to ensure that everyone adheres to the rules to avoid any danger, especially considering the reckless attitude Yuu has displayed here about killing vampires as soon as he sees them. In reality, Mitsuba’s behaviour is a defence mechanism in order to hide her traumas regarding the death of her previous squad members and Shinoa knows this well. Shinoa knows Mitsuba is a kind person on the inside, going to the extent of even calling “adorable” how Mitsuba feels that their lives are her responsibility, and that’s why she tells Yuu to bear with Mitsuba because Shinoa doesn’t want him to hate her.
In the panel below the first one which occurs in the next chapter when the girls are in the showers, Shinoa comforts Mitsuba telling her it wasn’t necessarily her fault that the entire squad got annihilated (as some of the members were already killed before Mitsuba made any reckless move, Mitsuba was too young and it was the leader’s decision to sacrifice himself for her). Speaking about this, Shinoa is the only one in the squad who knows about Mitsuba’s past and it makes me wonder whether Mitsuba herself told Shinoa about this or Shinoa discovered it since as a Sangū, Mitsuba must be well known in the army so her failure might have been spread around and Shinoa happened to discover it. It depends on how much of friends they were before the beginning of the manga; whether they were friends before that or they were somewhat distant but strengthened their friendship when the squad was established. After all, it is hinted that they live together in the chapter where they tried to cook for the guys though Shinoa said it was her room (but it wasn’t specified if it was Mitsuba’s too) so maybe Mitsuba decided to come over for that event. In the anime there was a bunk bed in the room next to the living room which wasn’t shown in the manga but still it doesn’t hurt mentioning it.
This one is a very subtle panel. In the middle panel that happened in chapter 29 after Shinoa and Narumi squad finished their mission of killing Lucal Wesker in Nagoya arc, Yuu realises that people really do die in these missions and Mitsuba replies to him with a “Your friends die. That’s the reality of battle...I...I’ve seen this...” while recalling her previous squad’s members deaths. Shinoa quickly picks up on this and touches her elbow in comfort, as highlighted by the green circle pointed by the green arrow, and gives a speech that reminds Mitsuba that she is not alone anymore and has people who are still alive for her to protect. I really love this moment because Shinoa was so perceptive of the little changes happening within Mitsuba.
In the right panel, it might look like Shinoa is throwing the bothersome job to explain the squad’s situation to Mitsuba, which might be true considering how Shinoa is sometimes, but I like this panel because it shows that Shinoa lets Mitsuba have her part and act as her second in command since being squad leader is what Mitsuba initially wanted. Mitsuba seems to be happy to act as her second in command which shows their relationship is more chill than what their first scene together in the manga made it look like.
Like Shinoa cares for Mitsuba, Mitsuba cares for Shinoa too. In the bottom-left panel which is taken from chapter 19, Kimizuki is suspicious of Shinoa after Yoichi and him were interrogated and tortured by the Hīragis, going as far as thinking she was using Yuu and saying that this is nothing but a “sickness” where he is forced to “play comrades”. Mitsuba quickly defends her by stopping Kimizuki because she knows Shinoa is only making them hide Yuu’s transformation out of genuine care for a comrade. Curiously, this scene parallels to a scene in chapter 99 that occurs after Shinoa makes Shikama Dōji submit. Kimizuki starts shouting at Shinoa thinking that she has been using them all while laughing behind their backs the whole time. This time Mitsuba doesn’t intervene. There are three possibilities for this: one is that Mitsuba is simply being relegated to the sidelines due to constricted space in the current events of the manga, two, that Mitsuba cannot act because this whole situation confuses her which is understandable, and three, that Mitsuba and Shinoa are becoming more distant, which I will explain later in this post.
I tried to find more panels of Mitsuba visibly showing care for Shinoa in the beginning and middle of the manga but it was hard but this is not Mitsuba’s fault, neither Shinoa’s. To be brief, Shinoa is a tough nut to crack. With her personality it’s hard to get emotionally close to her. Add to that that Mitsuba has her emotional baggage too which makes her emotionally constipated, this sets a wall between the girls so I hope Kagami will do something with it later in the manga where it breaks. Yuu already achieved it, so why not Mitsuba who is supposedly Shinoa’s only female friend and even best friend?
Tumblr media
(Left: chapter 26 and Right: chapter 45)
When Guren knocked Mitsuba out during the squad mock battle and when Mitsuba was attacked by Crowley, Shinoa always jumped to protect her regardless of the risk. Have a look at Shinoa’s pained face when Mitsuba told them to leave her behind or Shinoa’s determined face when she told Makoto to follow Kimizuki and Yoīchi in order to rescue Mitsuba. That raw emotion. Seriously, is it me or ironically in the beginning of the manga Shinoa showed far more emotion despite being claimed to be initially cold?
Tumblr media
(Top left: chapter 19, bottom left: chapter 26 and right: chapter 24)
Does someone else miss when these two girls used to team up to annoy the boys? These scenes might seem for pure comedic purposes but they are actually deeper than what they look like. When Mitsuba debuted, she was not only strict with others but with herself too. Due to her past failure and family expectations, she was forcing herself to grow up quicker, to be the perfect soldier and follow the rules even if that put herself under pressure. However, as she got more involved with the squad she became more free and Shinoa’s personality started started to rub off on her. There are two scenes where Shinoa starts with her pranks and Mitsuba follows with them. It’s vastly thanks to Shinoa that Mitsuba started to act like the teenager she is and that’s really wholesome. I mean, just look at how happy Mitsu is at the bottom left panel or her smirk, something unusual for her, in the bottom right panel when they abandon Kimizuki on the side of the highway (lmao poor Kimizuki). This duo have a great dynamic!
Interestingly, as the series progresses, you can see how both Mitsuba and Shinoa’s characters start acquiring qualities from the other. The always so stiff and temperamental Mitsuba becomes more laid-back and honest while Shinoa goes through the process of discovering more emotions within herself and expressing actual interest on other things. But the problem is that while Mitsuba’s change was influenced by the squad, Shinoa’s was primarily by influenced by Yuu.
Tumblr media
(Top left: chapter 8, bottom left and middle right: chapter 48, top right: chapter 17 and bottom right: chapter 43)
It is known that Shinoa loves to tease Mitsuba. In fact, her favourite person to tease is Mitsu because in the fanbook Shinoa said that someone who gets bullied easily is “1. Micchan 2.Micchan 3.Micchan” and even Mitsuba said that she hears Shinoa talk about her a lot.
The first thing Shinoa does when they reunite in chapter 8 is tease her. In chapter 48 when they are talking in the girls’ toilet you can see Shinoa looking at Mitsuba with soft and sweet expressions. Shinoa is really comfortable around her and Mitsuba’s personality allows Shinoa to be herself. Shinoa even said “I really like you when you always react to me like this.” with a gentle laugh which is something rare for her to say.
However, there are times where I personally feel that Shinoa should set some limits to herself regarding how much she teases Mitsuba and with what topics she uses to tease her like when she joked about Mitsuba not being a virgin in chapter 43 because the combined blood of the squad that Mika drank was gross. Although I find hilarious how Mitsuba reacted with a “I am SO going to kill you someday!!” but limits are limits, especially if it’s in front of everyone.
Another panel that was used for comedic purposes that I find somewhat off is the one in chapter 17 showed at the top right corner. Before this panel, Mitsuba says with a serious face that she hopes “things go okay for Yuu” in the interview with the Hīragi family and Shinoa starts teasing Mitsuba saying that she is in love with Yuu. Shinoa teases her but her gaze is at the building not at Mitsuba, her focus is on Yuu, and so it feels as if she teased Mitsuba to cover something else. And what is that something else? Easy. This scene happens not longer after Shinoa confronts Guren in his office about him drugging Yuu where Guren asks Shinoa if she fell in love with him. Ever since this moment Shinoa started to doubt about her feelings and I feel that she teased Mitsuba about her being in love with Yuu to cover her own feelings and that is not a nice thing to do to a friend.
Shinoa annoyed her many times throughout, Mitsuba never really got seriously angry at her aside from an occasional initial outburst. Mitsuba shows great patience with Shinoa, unless there is something we don’t know since we have never gotten an inner monologue of Mitsuba but I will talk about this later.
Tumblr media
(Chapter 17)
In the same chapter but some panels before, Shinoa makes fun of Mitsuba addressing her incompetence paralleling to how she made fun of her when they met in chapter 8. Mitsuba just got out of an interview with the Hīragis where she has been promoted, and Shinoa mocks her about how easily she can climb up the ranks just because she is a Sangū and not because of her abilities. On one hand, considering Mitsuba’s severe low self-esteem Shinoa shouldn’t be joking with this a lot but on the other hand, it’s because Shinoa is like this that Mitsuba is comfortable with her. Mitsuba doesn’t like it when everyone talks bad behind her back while praising her on the front, so Shinoa, who is the only one who is honest with her, makes Mitsuba feel at ease (let’s not count Yuu here because that guy is clueless about the weight that the hierarchy holds within the JIDA).
In the middle panel we can see how Shinoa talks about herself to Mitsuba and the same thing can be said with the toilet scene in chapter 48. Mitsuba is the only one out of the squad who knows about Shinoa’s life within the Hīragi family and some story with her older sister Mahiru (I know this is because those higher ranking family members have access to that information but nevertheless this gives Mitsuba an advantage when it comes to bonding with Shinoa). However, Shinoa is here just stating facts but doesn’t open emotionally to Mitsuba so that wall between them persists. Considering that they might have been friends for years, it’s mostly Shinoa’s closed heart the main reason that made their friendship stagnant. But of course, this is not Shinoa’s fault since she is a product of her terrible childhood.
When you look deeper into it, they don’t have the emotional bond and trust they should have with each other.
In the right panel, that’s where the real problem in their friendship starts. Please zoom and have a look at the section surrounded by the vertical amber rectangle. Have a look at Mitsuba’s expression. She is angry and not for comedic purposes. Shinoa has just asked Mitsuba how much information about Yuu she “bribed” the Hīragis with in exchange for her promotion. It doesn’t even look like Shinoa is joking here. She actually thought that Mitsuba, her closest friend, would fall so low as to sell a comrade for a promotion that she didn’t even want in the first place. Look at the region surrounded by the horizontal amber rectangle and you can see that despite Mitsuba already told Shinoa she did not say a thing, Shinoa keeps asking her if she said anything about Yuu going berserk in the battlefield as if she doesn’t fully trust Mitsuba. To be honest, Shinoa crossed the line here and I wouldn’t have noticed it if I hadn’t read the beginning of the manga since in the anime they made it different.
This is the beginning of the popular scenario where a friendship is tested when a guy comes in between.
Tumblr media
(From top to bottom: chapters 57, 70 and 75)
In chapter 57, Guren reveals to everyone a shocking fact; Shinoa was born with a demon inside her because of a crazy experiment. Mitsuba is the one who looks the most visibly shocked and when she asks Shinoa what does he mean by that Shinoa instead looks away to where Yuu is even though he didn’t ask her anything unlike Mitsuba. To me, this where Mitsuba and Shinoa’s friendship officially entered the amber region.
Then, in chapter 70, Aoi starts choking Mitsuba, asking her why she is not dead and branding her as traitor. Shinoa didn’t try to stop it but it’s understandable since going against Aoi could be punished, especially because they are in JIDA territory, and that Yuu was already doing the job of defending Mitsuba. What I found curious about this is that the whole time Aoi was talking bad about Mitsuba being a traitor we get scenes with Yuu, and even a glimpse of Kimizuki and Yoichi as highlighted by the blue square but not of Shinoa. Shinoa is only shown just after Yuu says “I’m Mitsuba’s family” as if this choice in the structuring of these panels is implying that Yuu saying something nice to another girl gets more reaction from Shinoa than when said girl, who is a friend of Shinoa too, is in a problem. What hurts me the most is that even if there was no need for Shinoa to intervene, we don’t get any shocked or sad expression of her while Aoi puts her hands on Mitsuba’s neck or starts insulting her.
Shinoa’s priorities changed and this is further seen when she is turning into a vampire in chapter 75 and everyone is around the wheeled stretcher where Shinoa is lying on but she looks only at Yuu. I could say that maybe she looked at Yuu instead of anyone else because he was closer to Shinoa’s face but then when Shinoa is taken to the doctors and scientists the last thing she thinks of is “Yuuichi...ro” and only Yuuichiro.
Tumblr media
(Chapter 86)
I guess we are going into the orange area now...While Shinoa changes, Mitsuba stays relatively the same. The panel where Mitsuba runs to Shinoa and hugs her in tears is the greatest proof of how much Mitsuba cares for Shinoa, which is impacting for the readers since we haven’t got much of their friendship for a long time up until that point. Now, if we compare Shinoa’s facial expressions in this chapter with the ones I have previously shown in chapters like 45 (when Crowley attacked Mitsuba) and 48 (when they talked in the toilet), you can see the difference. Before, Shinoa’s face was full of genuine happiness, care and worry but now she is poker faced. She completely disregards Mitsuba’s concern for her and crying. She doesn’t show a shocked face, doesn’t hug Mitsuba back or doesn’t even tell her “Sorry for making you worry, Micchan” or something like that. She turns the situation into a boob joke and Mitsuba simply replies back. Then, we get an emotional panel again of Mitsuba asking Shinoa if she is really herself again (and if you zoom to where the green arrow as pointing at you can see Mitsuba’s red eyes from crying a lot) but then Shinoa continues with the boob joke like nothing. Sure, I understand that Shinoa has fallen in love and her priorities are somewhere else, but could she at least show more concern for Mitsuba?
Now some people might tell me that I am making a huge deal out of it, that’s it normal Shinoa is not comforting her or acting accordingly to the situation because Shinoa is emotionally stagnant and dense but this is actually not true at all. Please have a look at this image below:
Tumblr media
(Chapters 85 and 90)
The first and only person Shinoa thinks about after being freed from her possession in chapter 85 is “Yuuichiro” (or Yuu-san if the translators did it properly). She doesn’t think about the rest of her squad even though she is supposed to be the squad leader.
Then here is where we can make the comparison. In chapter 86, Mitsuba was crying because she was scared since Shinoa was ‘dying’ by turning into a vampire, Yuu got kidnapped, and Kimizuki, Yoichi and Makoto left her without telling her a thing when the war broke out. Mitsuba informs her of this. Four chapters later, in chapter 90, which probably happened like half an hour or an hour in the OnS universe after Mitsuba cried, when Yoichi says Yuu was crying Shinoa gets worked up saying “I have to rescue him”. Shinoa hasn’t even seen with her own eyes that Yuu was crying yet she is prepared to go and help him when she didn’t do it for the girl who was crying right in front of her just some minutes ago. This shows clear favouritism towards Yuu. Of course, there is nothing wrong with having the person you like as your first priority. It’s almost the natural thing to occur, especially considering that this is the first time Shinoa feels like this. However, it’s because of things like this that the possibility of Shinoa eventually losing the closest friend she has exists.
(Also if someone wants to object to that part saying that Shinoa didn’t comfort Yuu in the end I will just say that it’s not weird considering Yuu was acting all happy go lucky and on the outside he didn’t look like needed comfort even if he really did.)
Also, many people noticed the use of “I” instead of “We” in “I have to rescue him” and “Yuuichiro... Hang in there. I’m on my way.” even though she is with the whole squad and I especially find it more surprising considering that when she said this last phrase, Mitsuba was next to her (or behind her from our perspective) showing that Shinoa doesn’t think of Mitsuba as much as she used to in the past. This mirrors what Mahiru told Shinoa in chapter 56, even though Shinoa couldn’t hear her, about how “sexual desire and lust” (I am going to put “crush” here instead because this might be too far someone like Shinoa) “corrupts you” “to the point where you don’t care about the world and its future anymore” and this already started with Shinoa’s care for the squad decreasing at the expense of her care for Yuu increasing.
Additionally, if you are a fan of this manga art style you might have took an interest on its illustrations and might have noticed that ever since Osaka arc there have not been many illustrations of them together anymore. At most it’s just Shinoa alone. Whether it implies their distance or Yamamoto simply does not have the time of making complex illustrations again, I don’t know.
Tumblr media
(Chapters 54 and 96, and volume 17 afterword ending on chapter 69)
Boob jokes. The worst part. Boob jokes. The first time I guess it was okay but it just keeps repeating and it’s not only in the manga. I even looked at the anime fanbook, and watched the CD Dramas and some clips of the game Owari no Seraph: Unmei no Hajimari (which all take place at the time before the squad defected the army) and I realised that there are more times where Shinoa makes a comment about Mitsuba’s chest. Some people say that this significant number of times Shinoa starts a boob conversation may indicate that rather than being jealous, she is obsessed and actually attracted to Mitsuba. But ships aside (I want to keep this post as ship-free as possible), it’s not nice that every time these two have an interaction, which is rare lately and so special because of its rarity, the topic is boobs. It’s not even funny and it degrades their relationship. Why Kagami cannot treat their relationship like the boys’s and give them scenes where they talk about their emotions rather than body parts? After all, the friendship between Shinoa and Mitsuba is not that different to Yuu and Mika’s or Guren and Shinya’s for reasons like sharing a past together. The major difference I can only find between them is their biological sexes and this is not an excuse for this bias.
But since I am the type of person who likes to looks deeper into every joke I am going to do it for these ones. The only thing that I find refreshing about these jokes is that at the beginning every time Shinoa made a comment about Mitsuba’s body, Mitsu was always embarrassed, exhausted and denying any claims. But because Shinoa started this topic of conversation so many times Mitsuba has gathered the experience and skill points to retort her insults😂 Shinoa has awakened Bad Girl Mitsu, and Dethroned Sass Queen is now on the losing end loool just joking.
It might seem that everything that I mentioned in this post until now it’s a lot for Shinoa and Mitsuba but remember that for them, ever since they arrived to the JIDA and all this mess started around chapter 70 they have been in the same day in the OnS universe (even if for us it has been years) and only two days passed at most ever since Shikama Dōji started influencing Shinoa’s views on Yuu in chapter 66 (although Shikama Dōji probably talked to her about him offscreen a lot of times before this chapter). It has been only one bad day, it’s okay, there is no need to panic, Mitsuba and Shinoa are still super best friends and will be...or that is what I would like to say because one, if in just one day Shinoa’s feelings became this crazy imagine how she would be after a longer time if no one stops her? And two, Mitsuba is starting to notice Shinoa’s feelings for Yuu:
Tumblr media
(From left to right: chapters 10, 19 and 99)
As I mentioned in a previous post, the number of times Mitsuba is realising that Shinoa feels something for Yuu from afar in the manga is around 3 or 4 (I am not including the fourth since I am not really sure about it), with the most recent being the most eye catching. Now, you might tell me that Mitsuba is just jealous which I would agree since the first panel gives that impression by going with the typical cliché where the second girl is jealous of the first girl. But then if you look at the whole three panels there is nothing that exactly shows a jealous expression on Mitsuba’s face but rather she is just concerned or surprised. It’s hard to decipher her emotions here but if you look closely at the middle and right panel you might notice something in common: Shinoa is placing her hand on top of Yuu’s. So it’s more likely that Mitsuba is looking at this specifically rather than at the whole picture of Yuu and Shinoa together considering that these latter two have gotten scenes together many times but Mitsuba never looked at them and acted normal. Kagami is the type of subverting our expectations like when Yuu was supposed to be the main protagonist but sometimes he seems to be a cover and the real protagonist of the story is Guren (this is just my impression). For this case, Shinoa has been called a “dispassionate observer” by Shikama Dōji in chapter 72 but sometimes I feel that the observer is Mitsuba.
This could explain why we have never gotten a glimpse of Mitsuba’s heart and demon even though she is a main female deuteragonist and the only one unaddressed in Shinoa squad. It might seem that she is patient and a stagnant character, but all these subtle moments might be building up to a potential Mitsuba mini arc that will be about her relationship with Shinoa? After all, what Mitsuba cares about the most is her squad, so bonds is a likely theme. Moreover, in the fanbook Mitsuba’s favourite person was stated to be Shinoa (while for everyone else it was ‘Yuu’). It’s possible that she will confront Shinoa about this because Shinoa never tells her anything about herself so Mitsuba has to do all the guessing and Shinoa has grown distant from her. No way Mitsuba is fine with that. Looking at this, it’s normal we haven’t gotten much of them because looking at the current events of the manga, now is not the time to sit down (it’s not like they either have the time) and do something that might sever bonds anymore. This is why I came to the conclusion that if it’s not just bad writing, then Kagami deteriorating their friendship is something intentional.
Now, how will Shinoa and Mitsuba’s friendship proceed from here will rely mainly on two factors. One is whether what Shinoa feels for Yuu is genuine or a result of Shikama Dōji and Mahiru brainwashing her, and two, whether Mitsuba feels something for Yuu too or not. For one, I am not going to jump to conclusions regarding Shinoa’s feelings for Yuu and I will just say that regardless of whichever route Kagami chooses, Shinoa still has to cherish her friendship with Mitsuba. For two, it’s ambiguous as I can say as many arguments for Mitsuba having a crush on Yuu as arguments against. So let’s wait and see. However, I want to say that making Mitsuba crush on Yuu would be unwise considering that it’s already hard enough with Mika and Shinoa, so adding Mitsuba would mean pointlessly adding more fuel to the fire, especially considering Yuu’s personality and that he might not end up with anyone by the end of the series.
However, if somehow Kagami decides to take the route where one, Shinoa’s love for Yuu moves forwards and two, it happens at the expense of her friendship with Mitsuba and others, I will start calling Kagami a hypocrite. This is because we are talking about the guy who said that the focus of OnS is not romance, but family and bonds. Therefore, I would be disgusted at his bias of exploring only the theme of family and bonds within male friendships at the expense of destroying female friendships just for romance.
I theorise that this confrontation (not a cat fight) will happen around when Shinoa will entirely lose the strength to keep restraining Sika and become possessed again (unless Yuu is here to save the day of course). For this to happen we will need a scene with Mitsuba talking with Tenjiryū in which we can finally see how she feels in order to set everything up before this moment, and another scene that will be a flashback of Shinoa and Mitsuba meeting for the first time when younger so we can actually understand the magnitude of their friendship.
And how this confrontation will happen? To be honest I don’t think that there is any person capable of putting up a fight against a Shikama Dōji possessed Shinoa (unless the main character’s plot armor is used here again) so Mitsuba confronting Shinoa will be at an emotional level where Mitsuba might voice her preoccupations and will tell Shinoa to trust her more instead of keeping things to herself because they are friends. This will be a perfect opportunity for the wall that Shinoa put between them to break and for Mitsuba to be finally given the chance of paying back everything that Shinoa did for her.
The reason why Shinoa needs to be stopped is easy. If she keeps going like this, at this rate she will take the same path as Mahiru where she moves everyone out of the way in order to obsess over one thing, being alone with no one to give advice to her or stop her when she will be making dangerous decisions. All this emotional outburst Shinoa has shown recently is not healthy because she is being rushed instead of being allowed to do things at her pace. She needs to calm down, and realise that where she should be emotionally expressive is with her friends as a whole group.
If you managed to read the whole post, I am sorry aghjskwkashs but it’s just that I wanted people to give attention to this underrated friendship😭💔 It’s so underrated so that’s why I wrote such a long post because I wanted to include every single detail (I hope I didn’t miss anything🤔) and searched for as many images as I can for evidence (sorry for making it so compact that the images might look blurry due to Tumblr restrictions🤧).
P.S. When I will be a granny (considering the fuckin slow pace of this damn manga) I wish to go back to this post and assess whether I was an amazing analyst or an idiot for trusting Kagami😂

part 25 in which we finally enter a new chapter :D
Tumblr media
throwback to when guren's hair was still swooshy... i love when characters do that mad, wide open smile, it SLAPS. the vamps do it a lot in their arrogant amusement.
Tumblr media
ngh... mito......... (what exactly did she hit here though..)
Tumblr media
god i miss them :( hopefully we can see more of their squad's backstory if we ever get a resurrection volume 3 :'D
hold on though what the FUCK is that title
Tumblr media
sorry but standing on someone's weapon to prevent them from using it is the funniest form of "nope you won't." i've ever seen. why fight when you can just be a nuisance?
Tumblr media
guren lies for fun it's literally canon
this is the equivalent to someone commenting random ass false information and immediately following it up with "sorry i lied" for no reason.
and since we have no idea how they got from "i knew you'd do that" to shinya being behind him without even making eye contact i'm just gonna assume they learned telepathy like besties do
Tumblr media
to be honest that was a rather dull battle. they didn't get the change to do anything😭 but well that was the whole point to this.
Tumblr media
mito jumping off the scythe for shits and giggles
it was quite mean how he made mitsuba faceplant though don't do that >:(( avenge her shinoa
Tumblr media
mhh, wasn't it kimizuki and yuu in the anime there?
and also, these two did absolutely nothing in that battle, did they... this might just be because i hate fight scenes (or because this is a manga) but it did not flow very well
Tumblr media
every single one of these tiny creatures could be made into a meme. especially micchan. and how the fuck did kimizuki and yoichi stop moving mid jump.
(("do you plan on standing there, cracking snarky jokes while you die?" meanwhile shinya while he was dying: "haha game over lol"))
Tumblr media
everyone's embarrassed. except yuu, he's trying to use his three braincells by aggressively shaking them around in his head. good going, yuu

OnS Theories (20S). First Theory - The meaning of saving Mikaela
Hello everyone, I’m very sure many are extremely happy with the events of chapter 102, along this, there was something that awoke within several readers which is a particular panel between Yu and Asuramaru, with the suggestion of @mikaisyuudere, let’s talk about this with depthness.
P.S: Theories are held within a neutral view and ships are excluded
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKerqp5yOGo
As many might have noticed, Yuichiro headed off to save Mikaela and managed to defeat three black demons with the enhancement of his desires thanks to Asuramaru, but, within one particular panel, Asuramaru asked Yu the next thing:
Tumblr media
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 102
Asuramaru asked Yu what he really wants since he states that Yu doesn’t want to save Mika.
But of course the scene goes for Yu focused on saving him no matter what, leading this to a question that has invaded several readers as to why is Yu working for Guren since he was the one that cut Mika in half? What is the purpose of saving him if the First Progenitor stated Mika is his son? Wouldn’t that make Shikama the protective figure for Mika?
(Warning: Theories are take aspects of confirmed events and such event was stated by the summary of said chapter)
Tumblr media
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 98
In chapter 98, Shikama possessed Shinoa again in order to know how Mahiru was able to track down his plan back when she made a deal with Krul, this only lead Krul to detect his presence easily leading an attack towards Shinoa’s body.
Of course, Shikama managed to halt such attack easily and stated that he was trying to save Mikaela along calling him his precious child.
But, as painful as it might be, Shikama isn’t focused on saving anyone in particular, but, how can I state such thing?
If many might have noticed, Shikama could have gone himself towards Mikaela’s dream world and enter in contact with him directly in order to protect him, but instead, he sent 3 black demons to literally break him mentally and emotionally, leaving him in this current state:
Tumblr media
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 102
This only leads to the next criteria which is literally the background that has been revealed so far about him, and such background of Shikama consists on the next thing:
Experimenting on human children way before he met Ashera
Creating infinite clones of Yuichiro without worrying about killing each clone for his own selfish purposes
Creating a vampire society to eventually select his chosen “apostoles” along mesmerizing them to work for him without objections
Start a long chain of experiments within a chosen Family until the perfect Vessel came out of it
Experiment with more children manipulating the hands of time and destiny in order to make everything fall within his palm in order to create children with seraph traits and Michaela traits
Lead the end of the world by making the Catastrophe descend upon the world by a 3rd party
Send 3 black demons to literally capture Mikaela’s soul by breaking him emotionally and mentally
But then, if there are more negative aspects within Shikama, what makes Guren a better option? Or rather, why does Yu follow up Guren’s plan?
First of all, there’s no justification for actions the characters do, I’m very aware Guren may be the least character some readers enjoy, and viceversa but nevertheless, Guren and Mahiru have been working alone in order to counter the twisted motion of the First Progenitor; instead of seeing a World in ashes, they want to see the same bright world they managed to experience when they were younger, but for that, morality was needed to be dismissed specially with how the current scenario goes.
Guren’s goal is that Yu and Mika merge together so they can become a strong being that will counter Shikama, such being is the archangel Michael which has been stated several times:
Tumblr media
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 79
The Sun God Aten they refer is none else than Yuichiro Hyakuya, he is the one they captured back in old chapters after the Hyakuya Sect managed to infiltrate within the JIDA headquarters.
Tumblr media
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 81
In chapter 81, the same line was stated again and the only person that was being dragged was Yuichiro Hyakuya along his cursed gear Asuramaru, and, as I stated before, while it is true that Sun God Aten belongs to other culture and religion, in fact this is a code, because in Christianity, such God is in fact the Archangel Michael, which of course is clear as water since the Hyakuya Sect soldiers mention “The Sword of Michael” which at that time was Asuramaru.
On contrary of Shikama, Guren aimed to locate Mikaela in order for him to make a contract in a more peaceful way with Yu so they could be together again, but of course, they weren’t expecting that the black demons would be working with the First Progenitor.
It could be said that Guren first’s goal was to erradicate the First Progenitor in order to return everything to how it was before the Catastrophe took place, which means restoring the world.
But let’s have another insight about “Saving”.
What does Yu view as saving Mikaela?
Yuichiro has displayed in several times that his biggest grief is to lose the first person that ever gave him warmth, what do I mean?
Mika was the first one to make him feel loved. Yu only knew hate from those he loved before, which means, his parents.
Yuichiro had no one to count with back as a kid but once the Catastrophe arrived and once the incidents within the Vampire Capital came, Yuichiro learnt the value of having a family. Such thing is heavily reflected in the first chapter of the story:
Tumblr media
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 01
Yuichiro couldn’t move on from that loss at that time since he knew Mika sacrificed himself so he could live after the whole massacre of his new family happened in less than 5 seconds, but of course, the squad alone was able to make him start accepting new people along having a new family, but of course, the events lead him to see Mika and eventually reuinite with him.
It could be said that Yu’s view of saving isn’t directed of having Mikaela bound on any state he is but rather, he is aiming to fulfill the promise he did to himself long ago, but what was that promise?
“Return Mika to be a normal human being”
Despite the silly attitue Yu has displayed within several chapters, Yuichiro’s solemn wish is to see Mikaela live a normal life, he wants to see him well and healthy with his new family, he wants to bring back those he lost back when he was a kid and eventually live what it could be labeled as “Paradise”. But how can I bring down such term?
Paradise itself is indeed a term often spoken as the last place for kind souls, but even paradise can be found on Earth when those loved ones exist next to you. As for Yu, his biggest desire isn’t to save Mika but rather, to fulfill his promise and bring peace to those he have met since deep down, he feels responsible for the mess that many have faced with the time he has spent with them.
He might not shout it out aloud but, he feels responsible for the next things:
Making Mika saccrifice himself for him
Seeing Mika become a vampire for him
Seeing Mika sacrifice for him leading for him to become a demon
Seeing Shiho lose his sister due to events that were tied to him
Seeing that just the fact his actions lead to heavy losses in old chapters for some
Seeing Shinoa sacrifice herself in order to save him and his demon
At the end, saving Mikaela just by how Yu stated it:
Tumblr media
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 102
No matter what it’s to come, he’ll save him.
Such statement clears any doubt he could have, and this is solely focused on giving Mika a “miracle”, a chance to live again before he lost his humanity, as he once knew the young Mika that managed to make Yu feel that caring world he once sought.
What do you think dear readers?
Let me know!

The manipulative, toxic, unhealthy and possessive relationship mahiru-guren. Part 1..
Can I say that they relationship is built towards love? No, not at all. Can I say that was love between guren and mahiru from both parts? No, absolutely not (even so kagami tried to make them a couple in catastrophe so bad, like it was the most beautiful and innocent love, when actually their interection is not more than toxic, unhealthy and extremely manipulative something that love or care shouldn’t be, that is not love, not all end always good, but this kind of interaction end hurt, disgraceful and deathly not even with all about her demon's possession to make her look like a victim could make this a good romantic love, bcs is not something that stop them to have a relationship) There wasn't never love at all in mahiru's part and guren's part. Their relationship was built upon manipulation from mahiru'part.
Guren was just an innocent sweet child that doesn't know anything about life and I can't blame him for not being able to see that is bad and cruel people out there in the world,he has (and have) an innocent and sweet heart, he is ignorant about so many things, even about manipulation, vengeance, abuse, and control and he just know his people and even he is training try to have a normal life, even so that he is being educated in an exaggerated and unhealthy way, as the next head of the family would be and carrying on his shoulders responsibilities that a child of his age should not, and is not wrong for him to train, but not to make him assume so much responsibility for people's lives and that is something that Mahiru used to her advantage to force him to protect her, in other words she exploited everything what she saw in guren as a child for her needs. Mahiru, was a vengeful girl who knew what she wanted and what she was doing, she is not a cute or innocent girl. Maybe some people see their interection since child like cute, innocent and sweet but is not the case. She knew that the Ichinose family would pay for her actions, even so she did not care and her actions are selfish one, something a child shouldn’t  know about that. But she knew her family was following her if not, why she would go there in the first place? she get free will when they go look for her and she already know guren would cover her up and they would be hurt and still she did not care and does nothing that manipulate and use guren at her will.
Mahiru does nothing but build guren's mind on manipulation since 5.
Manipulative, narcissistic since 5.
1: "lives is a fantasy world which may include, flirting, affairs and dream of unlimited success and will lie and distort facts and change events to suit their one agenda"
Vol 6 manipulation facts: “Rather serious wounds. Are you being bullied?”“Then why did you suffer such serious injuries?”“What kind of training?”“Eh. Then Guren must be strong.”If I say that I am the fairy of this forest, what are you going to do?”“I have no parents.”“If you want me to tell you. Come here at this time to bath again tomorrow. Then you will be able to see me again.”“Have you ever despised training?”“Has Guren been in a relationship before? Do you have a girl you like or something like this?”“What kind of boy do you want to grow up to be?”“What happens if you become strong?”
2: And here start a classic manipulative behavior. manipulator “(makes) a small request that you agree to, which is followed by the real request. It’s harder to say no, because you’ve already said yes…Now it’s all about them and their complaints, and you’re on the defense.”
“Everything?! If so, then if I ask you to bring some cake here, can you do it?”“You can’t do anything right?”“Then let’s have it next time. Remember to prepare it, Guren.”“Eh, you want a girl to prepare it?”“Furthermore, Guren will definitely become strong one day and get a cake for me right?”“Then I’ll wait until Guren becomes strong.”“That’s okay. But you must let me become a cute bride.”“Guren’s cute bride. I want to be someone like this in the future.”“Is it because you think that that might make me happy?”“I love most.”“I love Guren.”“Must there be a reason for our encounter?”“Never mind. I have already checked that there is no one here. Also, even if I am being found, Guren will become strong and protect me right?”“Hmm. Yeah. Because talking with the child of trash Ichinose House, must be the thing father despise most. However……”“However, things did not progress as smoothly. Because the child of the Ichinose House is too cute, I accidentally fell in love.”“After we become adults……that, we, can we marry?”“Like how we are now. Can we be together forever?
3:THEY WEAKEN YOUR SELF-CONFIDENCE: “Emotional manipulators seek out the vulnerabilities of people in order to exploit them. In fact, they may consciously or unconsciously create relationships with people who are the most vulnerable and willing to be controlled"
Even guren in this chapter feel he have some sense of self-worth, he believe he is strong and he is doing it for his people, he didn't give a crap about hiragi's issue toward them, but that didn't last because she put in his brain that little worth must be to protect her and save her, She destroyed his little self worth and built a new one, about not being strong enough to protect her and stay with her. She over flatter him in a way that is not seen sincere and actually it wasn’t bcs she went there with darkness porpuse. She was manipulating guren and others to get her way. That's why guren think he love her (In fact, Guren was never able to know or understand what he really felt for her, because he just have doubts and question himself about what ties him to her all the time). Because she was broken him down and built him back up to believe it. It wasn't an accident. And yeah people can say nothing of this is like that and is exaggerate bcs she was a child, but a child don't do this to other people, she knew everything she was doing, everything.
Grow up guren and more facts upon her manipulation, control and abuse.
4:"Guilty trips to control, expert at using Passive aggressive behavior to hurt, bullying, arrogant, acts superior to people close to them, anger, violence, abuse, use guilt, charm, hope, love, obligation, fear or confusion to get what they want"
Vol 2: “Enough of that. Keep quiet” tinge of anger colored her voice.(this is control and not a nice way to treat guren by the way and get angry with a person for no reason is not be good).“And a thug like you has learned how to flatter people?”( thug? For real? since when guren is a thug to her? when  she saw guren like that? that is not even being nice or treat a person how should be treat)
And here cames sayuri's part in by the way she was observing the situation and "helps" when guren try to stop the massacre that sheishiro was doing to her. She doesn't care about sayuri at all bcs she could stop it before but after guren show up she doesn’t move a finger to help her, so  she used that opportunity to make feel guren worthless."With your power, you won’t win against Seishirou. If you go, you’ll be murdered.”(drown him down, this is not care) “Don’t tell me you intend to murder someone here?”( didn't she do that? how much hypocrisy can be show in her words?) “Here, your attendant.”( treat sayuri like trash bcs is the way she see people and is true and throw sayuri at guren as an object that is worth nothing). “I hate getting apologies from you. Especially, from the you who is always weak and cannot protect a girl…” ( guilty trips and treat a person like worthless crap, the worst thing is that she says it in front of everyone else, humiliating him, punishing him as if he was absolutely worthless, and as if guren owed something to her, like blaming him for not protect her when she was a child, bcs this words are to herself not from sayuri or other girl. what make her diferent from her family when she is too pride of herself and even is worse than anybody on that school).
Guren was trying to live his life but this get worse upon more and more about a possessive, obsessive and manipulative interection. You don't drown down people you love and humiliate him like he doesn't worth anything. She is false, her kindness is false and is hipocrite with people around her and that is a fact. A healthy relationship doesn't drag you down it inspires you to be better. It support you and guren is not her property and he owes nothing to her.
“Because Mahiru-san is your lover, is she not?”But Guren laughed in response.“I’m not stupid enough to make a woman I haven’t seen in ten years my lover.” “Ahaha, I see.” “Exactly.” “But there’s still an attachment, no?” “No.” “No no, there is. The fact that your power—is at a much higher level for someone your age, is all because to rescue Mahiru-san from the Hiiragi House……”“I already said there isn't”“ Mahiru-san said that she still likes you. She wanted to be together with you. She said to achieve this, she was willing to do anything, even betray her own family.”“It doesn’t matter. You seem to have misunderstood, I didn’t become strong because of her……”
First than anything she is no one to obligated a person to stay with her or love her, that is not more than being a controlling and a psycho person. Saito is already saying she wants to achieve this, be the most powerful, even if that means kills many people on the ways like if they weren’t exist in the first place, bcs she is the one that is suffering so much, and those people out there are worthless objects.
Guren, after no seeing her for ten years still have some sense of self-worth, and honestly he thinks that met her was just a childhood thing and was an ignorant, can we see guren was an innocent child? he even think if he was capatable to defeat her, but met her again, make guren feel worthless bcs of her control and manipulation towards him. If guren did not feel that he was self-worth, even a little, why hide his power? He himself knows he is strong, he analyzes the attack patterns of the others, he is smart on his own right. But according to mahiru, nothing that what you are or obtain on your own merit is useful, power is obtained by committing atrocities, which makes guren feel useless, someone who has no value not only as a person but also as a human being, mahiru does nothing but abuse and destroy other people morally, psychologically, emotionally and physically to achieve her goals.
Can you see the difference between guren without her and guren close to her?
She wear him down his self-esteem and undermine his mental health and she's been doing it since kids, when guren is close to her, even since child, one can see, she bit chips away he's self-esteem and there is when he begin to doubt his perceptions and reality. Guren always feel wounded, frustrated, confused, misunderstood, depressed, anxious, or worthless any time he interact with her and that is no more than being emotionally abuse. And all of this start in their first meet, everybody forget that guren start to feel weak when he couldn’t protect her? (and even having 24 still thinks that he was weak for that reason? and that wasn’t more than mental abuse from her. When actually she was strong and have more free that what she was saying?) Guren with the real people he loves is mentally healthy, smiles, trust, care about the world and has fun, if we believe that his relationship with mahiru from child made guren happy, is wrong, because it caused pain and problems to his family and him, and did nothing but break him down, emotionally and physically, and mahiru did nothing but brainwashed him that he would marry her. Even when Guren grew up, he saw again that the power he seek and wanted was to protect his family. For the first time in his life, he finds value, ideals and belief about friendship, loving and protecting his loved ones, by will, beyond what was instilled in him since he was a child, he does it because he loves them because they support him and they see in him the real guren and not the guren that mahiru wants to force to be, that's not love, guren has no responsibility for mahiru, she forces him to have it because she brainwashed him that that's his responsibility towards her. Guren believe he is a damn rat and all of that is cause for her, bcs he didn’t see himself like that when was a child, but who forced him to feel worthlless? Can you see the difference about guren living in reality with his beloved ones and fantasy with her?
She was telling to saito since child she just want one thing, guren, and like she is a hiragi she could have whatever she wanted, even if that means make guren surrender to her bcs she see him like her property not as a person. Can you see that this was never about shinoa? She wanted to be a queen is other hiragi more, hungry power and have whatever she wanted no matter what, so if she has to eliminate every person guren could love, then why not, and make guren to do it better to her.  Puppy guren is what she see on him. She is not capable of having things without forcing them, she has to take it, and if it is not as she wants, she tortures, manipulates, destroys or kills.
“Don’t say such cruel things.”“So powerful…… You’ve really become stronger, Guren. Was it because of me?”“No.”“Ah, no?”“Aah, no. Don’t make me repeat myself.”Mahiru was not pleased and bit her lip. Guren had seen this expression before. When they were younger, he had seen it on several occasions. Mahiru had always asked if Guren liked her, and when he had always evaded her questions, she would have that expression on her face. “Really……? The reason why I became stronger was because I wanted to be with Guren.”“Fu, fufu…… Once you have the power, it becomes very enjoyable. Isn’t that how you feel, Guren? To let your body become so strong like now you have to be completely immersed in it.”“But the physical body has a limit. I can’t reach a higher level with this. “I guess I can say that it’s almost done. But, Guren. Even with just this, I’m already undefeatable, right?”“Ah, aren’t you being a bit hypocritical? As if you have never made any similar sacrifices…… You have got to be kidding? In order to get this strong, I think you must have also given up something.”“Wasn’t this what we agreed to that day? Under the blue sky, on the green grass. How can you protect something if you don’t have power? Even the people you care about, you cannot protect. Even the important things, you cannot protect. That’s why you need power. Me too, you too…… Right, Guren?”“Why don’t you come with me? If you do, you can also become this powerful. With me together, to make this power complete…… To make it…… complete.”Don’t… don’t come here, Guren. I’m already…… I’m already swallowed by the…… «Kiju». It, it was a failure…… I, I’m already, not…… shut up, shut up! I’m not swallowed up yet! I still have a lot more power…… A whole lot more power……”“I really like you.”“I’m going to ask you again, Guren. Do you want to come together with me?”Guren replied. “No.”“You will gain more power.”“Not interested.”“Ahaha. It looks like Guren really hates me now.”She sounded a little sad. However, Guren replied,“That’s not the problem. The power I seek is not the same as yours.”“Really?”“Really.”“Alright…… But when did we become this different?”“I like you, Guren.”She said.“This is my true feeling. So, I will always wait…… always wait for the day you need me again.”
To her, people are not more than trash that killing each others, but she has the right to killed them? And that is not bad at all? So that make her innocent, victim and a saviour? There is no need to sacrifice people, to become strong, guren is right, she seeks power to dominate, to control, to be on top, guren does not seek that, and for mahiru, her mind does not reach more than seeking power through diabolical things and atrocities. And if there is something that she loves, it is that power that she uses while committing atrocities. And why guren should be the hypocrite here?, if he has become strong without going that far, in fact he is stronger and smarter than anyone in that school, even more than the jujo, goshi and sangu, and he has shown it.
She used her love bombing towards guren can we talk here that mahiru already knows what she wanted, that her goal, was guren, no save the damn world, and yes i know she is possess (but even so she still is her true self and she doesn’t change since child, bcs still is manipulative, controller, egoist, selfish and does not support that others go against her will) and she knows what the hell she is doing and saying, she is aware of everything and doesn’t feel a damn remorse about all of that and people is gonna say, demons use her desire, etc, but her desire is power, nothing more and how manipulate guren about her demon’s issue. Can we talk here how she uses her demons possession to make guren feel pity towards her, can you see her clear manipulation on how she acusses of doing things guren is not doing\things she is doing and how she think guren and her were equals and how he didn’t give a crap about her. She wasn’t capatable to understand and know guren a little. She pleading, begging and repeating something over and over until he wear down. Crying, acting dependant, despondent, sulking and withdrawing. Lack sympathy for others, especially those she exploit (guren) she is not looking to love him, she is looking to control him.
mahiru met guren since 5 and after 10 years she used love bombing that is when someone overwhelms another with attention, flattery and adoration. Is yet another manipulation tactic used by narcissist’s. While there are many reasons behind why a narcissist love bombs, those reasons are typically selfish ones. It’s used by someone to receive a certain result from another person. Whether it’s control or receiving adoration back there are many reasons someone love bombs. Are a false illusion by someone who (most likely) has not fallen in love. It is a form of manipulation and once she feels you are “easily controllable,” the love bombs disappear and emotional abuse sets in and can be used as a way of “trapping” or “buttering someone up” to convince them to be in a relationship. Then once their in a relationship, narcissistic abuse sets in.
Their interaction wasnt a met between two innocent childs was plan and research about a little boy, they relationship start from hurt other people and was more interaction than relationship bcs they don’t know  each other, not from child and less from teenagers. He force himself to love her by her look, godness, fairy, most beautiful girl and the most victim from everybody. Is not more than a fantasy bond what guren had for her. She love him for his strength, for being strong. because if it wasn’t for that she would lost interest in him. There wasn't any sincere action from her towards guren, not even since child. Their interaction (not even relationship, bcs never was one in the firt place) Start: greedy Progress: lust End: pain

OnS Chapter 109
Tumblr media
This is the last chapter for this year. I can’t believe I’m now reading this monthly since I used to go on months without doing so and just catching up with what’s available after a while. It’s pretty fun although I do miss the scanlations since the official translations from mangaplus took away Yuu’s “Yuu-chan” nickname. I don’t care what others think, to me it’s important. :P
Anyways, the end is long and rambly - just a warning.
Tumblr media
With the 1st Progenitor gone, everyone can now focus on the alarming thing around them and so Yuu asks what and why angels are here... in his mind. Not gonna lie, I nearly forgot that they’re still in a “memory world” with all the stuff happening. Anyways, Mika tells him that he doesn’t know but the answer probably lies somewhere in Yuu’s memories.
Tumblr media
Since we started in Mika’s mental world then travelled to Yuu’s, Yuu asked Mika how he knew that the angels are from Yuu’s mind. Mika explains that he was also able to devour many of Yuu’s memories which let him remember his own. They’re a bit jumbled so it’s hard to tell which memory belongs to who exactly.
Tumblr media
It seems not all is confusing though. Mika says he now sees both POVs from him and Yuu if they both had the same memory. I guess the two of them being almost always together back in the day paid off. I’m happy Mika remembers now cause the other demons (like Ashera but I’m not sure about Noya) took a while to remember stuff but knowing it comes with this confusion is kinda sad. I watched Baccano years ago and this just reminds me of poor Czeslaw’s predicament.
Tumblr media
Oh... he now also has memories of Yuu when they were separated. He sees Yuu as a kid trying so hard to train to kill vampires and also Yuu feeling terrible cause everyone from the orphanage died. Guren was there to convince him to live even if it's for revenge. This is kinda sad, honestly cause when Mika and Yuu were separated, Mika probably had many thoughts and worries of how Yuu must’ve been living his life outside and now he could see them.
Tumblr media
As much as he hates Guren, Mika now understands why Yuu trusts and cares about the guy so much but of course, it doesn't mean Mika isn't thinking twice about it as Guren is suspicious after all.
Personally, I kinda hate? Dislike? Guren as well but I do get it too though. In fact I think realizing Guren was the one who supported Yuu all those years makes every suspicion and revelation harder to take in.
Tumblr media
Anyways, since the 1st Progenitor escaped and there's nothing they could do about the creepy angels, the group decided to finally head back to the real world. Yuu thanks his friends for coming to his aid. So nice! Mika also says he can manifest outside, too so they could all join the others.
Tumblr media
Before they leave, Mika scolds Yuu for being suicidal although he says he does understand where Yuu is coming from. Yuu says it's okay now cause he's alive and he got to meet Mika again. Mika don't lie, you probably felt that way, too while in Sanguinem on your own.
If he didn't know Yuu was alive, Mika probably wouldn't have wanted to survive either. They lived for each other in their own ways - Mika lived with guilt and self-hatred with the vampires hoping to see and be with Yuu-chan again while Yuu trained and gave it his all because he wanted to avenge everyone he lost especially Mika.
Tumblr media
Mika finally tells Yuu that he knows and appreciates what Guren has done for them both and that he would thank Guren next time they meet. Deep inside though, Mika still suspects Guren of ill intent as he knows the man has ulterior motives for it. That said, while I like Krul better, she too probably has ulterior motives for letting Mika live. With this is another similarity between Yuu and Mika as Yuu himself decided to count Krul as a comrade after knowing that she saved Mika. Mika still got a lot of questions that he knows they'd have to figure out within Yuu's memories but that’s for later.
Tumblr media
Awwww.... you're doing this to me now? They're back together and they would protect each other again. This makes me so happy! (>///<)
Tumblr media
Ferid and Crowley! It's been a while! See the stuff Ferid is saying on the speech bubbles? The bastard is making his own running sfx... for Crowley, of course! Who else is there to hear it? Crowley doesn't get why he needs to do that and neither do I! I dunno if this is really just how Ferid is or if his time getting burnt alive in the sun is catching up to him.
Jokes aside, I’m glad they’re getting screentime again cause who knows what they’re up to.
Tumblr media
The two finally realizes that the 1st Progenitor has been captured. Crowley wonders whose plan is actually in motion right now and I can relate. After all the backstabbing and secret agendas, who knows who is at which side and why? Only the author knows...
This scene is probably happening the same time as when the 1st Progenitor got pulled out of the memory world by Rigr and Urd since Ferid and Crowley suddenly felt that the 1st got caught. I like how it’s implied it’s all happening simultaneously.
Tumblr media
Yuu is back! Mahiru points out Guren seems happy that Yuu is okay (Guren probably did end up caring for Yuu after all like how Krul cares about Mika) and the girls are happy to see Yuu. Especially Shinoa.
Tumblr media
Oh man, I don't know how to feel about what could seem like a start to some kinda love triangle drama. I mean, I kinda already have an idea who the author would let win so I guess I'll just have to brace myself starting now.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, here's the continuing the verbal confrontation between the 1st Progenitor and his vampire "children". Rigr is happy that his plan had worked but Sika Madu asks if this was all it because he could feel something else is up. The 1st then asks how many sinful keys (those black cross things from fallen Seraphs) Rirg has on hand because he knows someone else has them - someone who could be dangerous and can destroy the world.
Tumblr media
Cue Ferid with his own sinful key. The 1st realizes that it wasn't just them playing this game and that they overlooked some others who could end up being a dangerous third party.
Tumblr media
The 1st Progenitor had made his move and so had Rigr. Now it seems it's Ferid and Guren's turn. This series isn't just gonna toy with my heart, it's gonna do it to my brain, too.
--
First of all, I’m so happy with all the moment between Mika and Yuu. While I was happy with their actual reunion many volumes ago, I don’t think they’ve really discussed much about those 4 years they were separated from each other (there is an ongoing war so there really wasn’t any time) but this at least lets them talk about it a bit. Mika could now see many of Yuu’s memories and so he doesn’t really have to ask for specifics and doesn’t have to make a lot of assumptions anymore. They will also have to dig in through Yuu’s memories and maybe even his own to answer many questions and while it will happen later, I’m happy it may mean they get to understand each other more.
Okay uh, I’m gonna say some of my thoughts on Guren. I really liked his character back in the day when the anime was airing. I’m a MikaYuu fan so most fics I read are for that ship so I’m not sure about others but in MikaYuu fics, Guren is usually given the father-figure role for Yuu which meant he’s almost always trustworthy. And then the manga revelations happened and I don’t think I’m the only one who got confused as to how to feel about Guren now. His character is a complicated one and I have been wanting to put all my thoughts of it in a post but chapter after chapter with bits and pieces revealed, it never felt like it’s the time yet. I might not 100% like Guren anymore but I don’t hate that he exist. He’s an interesting character and I wouldn’t have felt this complicated about him had he not been one.
Ferid on the other hand has always been painted as antagonistic or at least, he is shown to be a not good person at all from the start. I hated him right from the beginning of the series that at this point, there’s no way to go but up and I find him entertaining when he shows something other than being a creepy bad guy.
On the subject of ships: MikaYuu vs Yuu/Noa ship war had been going on for years (oh so many agonizing years and was the first time I’ve seen people adamantly demonize and insult those they deem “incest shippers”) but the fact that the series isn’t focused on romance meant I would mostly only see the actual war on the fandom spaces. But now Shinoa has admitted to herself her feelings for Yuu and depending on your interpretation, Mika had also admitted his feelings by telling Yuu he loves him before he “died”. Canon is going to delve on the shipping parts soon and I guess it’d be harder for me to ignore the things I don’t like. I mentioned before that since OnS is a shounen manga running in a shounen mag, YuuNoa has a higher chance of becoming canon so the fact that more and more scenes for it’s buildup might come is making me uncomfortable now haha. I’m not planning to go anywhere though so I’d have to hold on and continue to read.
I’ve had a lot of ships that ended up not being canon before and if MikaYuu doesn’t end up canon (which is likely), then that’s just another ship to add to the pile. I’ve never stopped loving the fanon OTPs I have and MikaYuu is one of my top OTPs so regardless of result, I’ll still stick to it anyways.
Okay, back to the plot, I have... questions, I guess?
Guren and Ferid are in cahoots as revealed ages ago. Mahiru also knows about it.
Mahiru had spoken to and have planned stuff with Krul as shown in the flashbacks. Recent chapters show Guren is also in on this.
Ferid and Krul... aren’t on the same side though? Ferid seem suspicious of Krul back at the beginning in regards to the Hyakuya orphans and at the end of season 2 he (and Crowley) attacks, incapacitates and as shown in the manga, had Krul locked up. It wasn’t for show either as Krul is pissed about it. What does this mean? Are Guren and Mahiru using (dunno what other word to use here) those two separately? I’m confused.
And we haven’t even tackled Guren’s relations in the JIDA. Shinya still has no clue about all this, his own demon is on the 1st Progenitor’s side, and now he’s been captured by the 2nd Progenitors.
God, I wish there’s a season 3 of the anime cause the fans who had only watched the anime deserve to see this amazing mess lol. I thought they’d be giving us answers now but they gave us more questions. I’m excited though.
Next chapter comes out in 2022 lol. Ah, another year coming!! Advanced Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to those reading this by the way.
