been working on a nowhere-near-complete design of beast!ricky for an AU where he's an asshole wizard who's been cursed, and i like it so far, so have a sketch in case it disappears into my WIP folder for eons. it started out as a toa changeling AU design (because they're fun to make and it was bound to happen sooner or later), and then recently my furry monsterfucker ass decided to take it further and make it into its own thing. not least because toa changelings don't tend to have coats and beafte ricky needs to be Fluffy

That will feed an entire Clan for months. All through the three months of winter. Boar meat is sososososo worth it, it's INSANE. ThunderClan should actually be The Fat Clan, these guys are partaking of the sweet fat of the hog and absolutely rolling in extra calories.

Ducks are a REALLY good target for Clans, also. Average mallard drake is 3.5 pounds, 1.5 kilos, 9,000 calories. One duck feeds the entire Clan for a day.

I will say though, EXTRA knowledge; remember that calories don't necessarily satiate hunger! A lot of factors do, but you can summarize them with weight in the context of cats. My cat's usually full around 85 grams, but I know some cats who can hoover a big can of food in a single sitting.

(long answer: protein, fiber, thickness, if you had a drink beforehand, eating slowly, etc. But we're talking about prey meat here)

So your stellar's jay example is usually about 100 to 120 grams (though since my guys are in England, they wouldn't encounter those), which would basically be a meal two cats share. If that's breakfast they'll have hit all their calories for the day, but they'll still feel hungry for lunch and dinner.

Not only do you get that boost from cooking the meat here, but the value is more evenly distributed through the whole dish, the weight of the broth languishes in the stomach to make you feel full, AND ALSO IT'S A CLEAN SOURCE OF HYDRATION. You BOILED the water and didn't even think about it. That 120g prey item is now nutrition for 3 cats, a whole meal for 6, plus an easy way to get more water into sick warriors who may not feel like eating.

Get yourself some mushrooms, a couple pieces of prey, whatever leftovers that would otherwise go to waste, and BAM you've got your whole Clan stuffed and happy, even if they didn't manage to hit the caloric minimum of the day.

Well, that's not entirely true. Not every part of phenotypically male development is dependent on testosterone production. Even before testosterone production, the Y chromosome leads to the development of testicles in a fetus. This is why people with complete androgen insensitivity syndrome will develop testicles (whose information is stored in the Y chromosome), even if they are never exposed to testosterone. So the male phenotypic development is not entirely dependant on testosterone, but also genetic information on the Y chromosome.

So what does he mean with "female genetic programming"? Under HRT, men develop secondary sex characteristics that are typical for women. They are not exclusive to females, however, because men can also develop these characteristics without HRT or any other medical intervention. Yes, breast growth is more often found in women, but men can also get breast growth, for example those affected by gynecomastia. Saying that breast growth is "female genetic programming" is just false, because even though it is primarily females who are affected by breast growth, there are males who are also affected. If you grew a vagina and a uterus from HRT, you would be right in saying that the female genetic programming was activated, because a vagina is consistently found in the female phenotype. But breasts? Everyone can get them. It's not special and it doesn't make you more female, just as a woman who hasn't grown breasts for whatever reason isn't any less of a female.

You are not developing female physiological traits, though. Female physiological traits are about gamete production. If your balls went up again into your body and became a uterus, and your penis would recede and become a clitoris and you would stop peeing through it, that would be a sex change. Also, you're not going through a second puberty, you're purposefully inducing a severe hormonal imbalance and changing your fat distribution and other physical characteristics. For it to be a puberty, you would have to re-change into a child and then reach sexual maturity as the opposite sex again. But you have already reached sexual maturity as a male, and therefore you are not going through puberty. You aren't even going from sexual maturity as a male to sexual maturity as a female. sumeru boys redesigns + notes

as you may know, i redesigned the sumeru boys a few weeks ago because, as much as i love them to bits, their designs are well. not that great in some areas. also because i wanted to draw them more often without the roadblock of their designs being so complicated. i've mainly been drawing my cyno and tighnari redesigns, but i did also do alhaitham and kaveh, so i thought that i'd show off these redesigns in one post, along with some notes on why i made certain decisions. hope you enjoy!

(pre-note: just so no one gets confused, i also renamed everyone when i did my redesigns, giving tighnari and alhaitham first names and cyno and kaveh last names.)

tighnari ❀

(renamed abdullah al-tighnari; tighnari was made his surname because that was the case for the real guy he was based on)

i went into this thinking "how can i make this design more appealing to me while still retaining what the original design meant?". since tighnari is one of my favorites in the game overall, i put a lot of pressure on myself to make a decent design.

a lot of tighnari's design inspiration comes from moroccan (specifically amazigh) culture, which i kept in my mind through most of the drawing. this inspiration shows in his bead necklace (i forget the name), his belt, and his earring, which i remade to mirror the shape of moroccan headpieces.

gave him some muscles because there's no way a guy with his job wouldn't have them. also a bottom-heavy fat distribution for self-indulgent purposes.

the design has less layers and lighter/flowier clothes because of tighnari's canon sensitivity to heat. if you're living in the rainforest (a famously humid biome), you probably wouldn't be wearing what canon tighnari does, heat sensitivity or not.

gave him some traits that are popular headcanons, such as the flower thigh tattoo, the sharp teeth, the scars, the claw-like nails (with the middle and ring nails filed down for No Reason), and the lichtenberg figure. also gave him tan skin and wavy hair because i Cannot deal with canon nari looking like that.

sturdy shoes! archery gloves! his vision on his belt! quality of life features that an actual forest ranger would have!

i will admit that the slit pants, the shorts, and the tights were all for self-indulgence reasons, but i think they go together well with the rest of the outfit too.

a braid in his hair for cynari marriage purposes. (i hc that in sumeru, marriages are consummated by braiding each other's hair)

kaveh ❂

(renamed kaveh laghmani; surname is of iranian origin, but i forgot the meaning)

another real quick note: if i change a character's pronouns in their rewrite, i'll be using those pronouns in their notes. here, kaveh goes by he/she pronouns (she just like me fr).

his canon design is actually my favorite of the sumeru boys, so this redesign was more of a simplification while still keeping the original color scheme and such.

from my research, kaveh's mainly inspired by persian/iranian culture. this is what i had in mind with her shirt and her jacket... shawl... thing. idk what to call it.

kept him a skinny twink; imo, her being a twink in canon fits pretty well.

emphasized the bird of paradise motif with the thing on her side looking like feathers. you will see this again with alhaitham.

made him brunet for more cohesion with the color palette, also because i don't like the whole blonde-fading-to-brown situation he has going on in his canon design.

flowers!!! also giving him a pretty headpiece bc this guy is flashy. also also keeping the feather, it's cunty and fun.

i wanted to make kaveh obviously gnc/genderqueer without going into full-on feminine outfit territory. you can tell she's not quite cis but it's not super in your face yk?

made his vision one of his earrings like yae miko because i forgot to give it a proper place in my concept drawings lmao

quality of life feature: actual artist gloves that aren't cut off. seriously, them being fingerless in the canon design completely negates the point of artist gloves.

removed his braids because of the aforementioned marriage headcanon.

alhaitham ⚘

(renamed amir al-haytham; i wanted to give him the most basic name possible, though i fought with myself a lot on whether to write it as al-haitham or al-haytham)

my god i despise his canon design. it's so... not him. my goal with a redesign was just to give him an outfit that made sense for his character because jesus his canon design is an atrocity.

alhaitham is mainly inspired by either saudi arabian or general west asian culture (like what's constant and such). i was mainly inspired by casual saudi arabian menswear when i was designing him.

hot take but i don't like alhaitham being buff in canon. i made him chubby/fat in my redesign mainly for self-indulgent reasons, but also because it makes more sense to me. also gave him facial hair because yes

kept his color scheme mostly the same, along with the eye motif. emphasized the eagle motif slightly with the feather hip piece (see: kaveh's redesign).

gave him a headscarf (not a hijab or anything like that, just a regular headscarf) because he felt like the type, plus i got the design idea for it and went "well i can't not include it now".

wanted to give him the vibes of an npc who was forced to be a main character

no he isn't wearing his vision anywhere, he doesn't carry it around in my rewrite.

quality of life features: more sensible, looser clothes that are easier to live in- really the whole design is meant to be a quality of life improvement first and foremost

like kaveh, i'm gonna be using he/they pronouns for cyno here because that's what i put in my rewrite.

in my opinion, cyno's design is relatively solid, but with a few glaring flaws that kinda ruin everything for me. i'll bring them up as these notes go on.

they're very obviously inspired by ancient egyptian culture, specifically anubis. like, it's very blatant. with my redesign, i wanted to keep those inspirations in mind while making the outfit less stereotypical and make more sense.

why does this man, who's said to fight a lot, not wear a shirt? why are you letting the place where most of your vital organs reside breathe freely? also, why does this guy not have scars?

simplified a bunch of patterns, especially below the belt and with his headpiece. also made their helmet(?) a darker, more saturated purple to attract your eyes' attention to it.

gave him eye of horus makeup for a little cultural nod

the black piece in the back was made to look like a tail to further the jackal thing.

curly hair that resembles lightning bolts <3

the shoes were inspired by traditional egyptian footwear, because if this guy is out in the desert all the time, i'm not letting him go without some kind of foot protection.

quality of life features: a bit of armor on his arm (partially for aesthetic purposes), less flowy bits on his helmet and hips to prevent distraction or getting caught on things, the aforementioned shoes

added braids for cynari purposes, because i'm me.

lost like ten pounds for no reason and im wondering if its testosterone or metformin. i know thats a not a lot considering my weight (250) but i have literally never lost that much weight in my entire life lmao, i basically constantly gained weight for no reason until i started treating my pcos. i started metformin a few months earlier, but it would make more sense since it initially halted my constant weight gain, maybe it just took a while for my blood sugar to get fully under control? when i last had bloodwork done, it'd been a few months on metformin and my blood sugar was better but my lipids were mostly the same. curious to see what my results will be when i get more bloodwork done in a couple weeks.

i also don't look/feel like ive lost any weight? ive put on a little fat on my upper abdomen, before T i had some fat on the lower stomach but my fat distribution was mostly butt, thighs, boobs, and hips, and my stomach was far from flat but relative to the rest of my body, not a lot of fat went there. if that's weight transferring from somewhere else on my body, can't really tell which part it's from cause my butt and thighs look and feel the same. think my face looks a bit slimmer, i was starting to form a little bit of a double chin before (my face was basically the last place for weight to start showing) and now the bit of fat under my chin is kinda still there but it feels like, tighter? and my face is looking a bit different, more masculine and older, but that could just be because i'm 18 and i'm still growing a bit.

anyway, whatever it is, i'm liking what t is doing for me appearance wise and it'd be nice to keep losing weight without doing anything. once i stopped constantly gaining weight and could just exist in my body and get used to it, i stopped caring so much and ive made peace with it. i still don't have the best body image, always hated seeing full body pictures of myself at every size i've been, but i'm not like, actively fighting off an eating disorder anymore. id basically just decided that every attempt to lose weight had failed and was miserable, and being fat was better than being slightly less fat and way unhealthier, so fuck it, let's learn how to be okay with what we've got. if i lose weight from T, cool, if i don't, this size is fine. probably always going to be medically "morbidly obese".

Tbh I don't know personally, though I have spoken to many trans women who experienced easier weight gain on HRT. Like I assume it helped me, but I had never really tried to gain weight before I started HRT so I don't have a basis of comparison.

The huge thing about gaining on HRT is fat distribution, but that isn't a guarantee. I think for myself it absolutely helped me grow my tits, otherwise I was just born to be belly heavy apparently lmao

On the topic of today's questions, my own headcanons for Jay and Aurora's body types bc I do what I want B^)

Jay's build is fairly close to what he has in-game, maybe with a waist that isn't as snatched - years on fantasy T has changed the fat distribution so he's less hourglass shaped and more rectangular.

He's relatively thin, without much notable muscle or fat, and he has a pretty mid-sized bust for a gnome (his transition nemesis). The only reason he's not a pipe cleaner is bc he's too short lmao. He also uses clothing to alter his shape, like binding for his chest, and his jacket has padding to give him broader shoulders etc.

He does gain a little weight after he moves to Waterdeep though, much to his delight.

Aurora's build on the other hand is quite different. General proportions are the same (wide shoulders, big head, massive hands), but she's both more muscular and fatter than her in-game model.

I've been using strongwoman Gabi Dixson as a body ref for her, who is both fat and incredibly strong. Main difference is that Aurora is obviously much shorter, and I have plagued her with massive tits.

Her face is also a little different. It has the same features as in-game, but with a wider jaw, double chin, and MUCH bigger ears (why won't anyone give dwarves big ears, elves can't have all the fun).

This remake piece of roh punk I still find myself liking because it’s a remake of a previous version that I could see an immediate difference in improvement straight away and I feel I managed to capture the vibe of coquette that I was aiming for well

My main inspiration is that style of 90s anime that have really stark colours, thick lineart and heavy highlights that almost make the characters look like they’re made out of plastic, that shit just does it for me for whatever reason. I’ve also ripped off a lot of shunya yamashita lmao

16. What was some hung you used to struggle to draw with confidence/ease, but have now mastered?

I wouldn’t say I’ve mastered it, but drawing people with actual meat I always wanted to get good at. There’s something so special to me about seeing character art where you can see the squish of their thighs or their waist and it’s really enjoyable to work out how their specific fat distribution works. Also learning how to draw musculature too which comes with the territory if you’re drawing wrestlers lmao

I’m not one who asked question about Finn, but I think it’s not a stretch to say he has such features to a certain extent, especially when he was bit younger. There even was an article referring to him as that IIRC, and some professional photo shoots he got, really played into that image as well. I don’t see a problem here. He has quite elegant look to him. Overall, not because he’s thin.

The problem I see, is when people make fun of how he looks, like dude bros, I’ve seen some of them make fun of his appearance because he’s ‘Pretty’, too skinny, and has Jewish features. It is weird AF. (Sorry, English isn’t my first language.)

if you're talking about the GQ article, he said that his mom calls him a soft boy, and that came up because the author and director mentioned that finn, and his whole generation, is more progressive and willing to talk & care about sensitive issues. also, photoshoots aren't real life. i know that you know that lmao.

you don't see a problem, because there never was a problem to begin with. you and that other anon came up with this imaginary "problem" that didn't have anything to do with my original statement and are fighting me over it. i'm not gonna defend myself against those allegations if i know i never said anything to warrant them.

i asked them to point out the androgynous traits because that was the crux of their argument and the only semi-relevant thing to the topic at hand. of course i'm going to speak up on that if i know that the traits that you guys claim make him feminine are literally categorized in scientific literature as being masculine (angular bone structure, cheekbones, nose, body type, fat distribution, etc). if you twist that into some kind of moral stance, then that's entirely on you.

lastly, don't act like body weight and looks in general don't play into the way that people perceive others. we all live in the world and have been here for more than two seconds. we know the way that real life works. that behavior and those biases are exactly what influences the mischaracterization of fictional characters, which is what i was talking about.
