OVAs review:

his butler, performer:

fairly good. had some decent animation too. encapsulates what I like the most about season one. How it nails emotions, and very well timed humor. also what i didn't like in season one, too many unfunny dirty gags or fanservice wasting my time, wish the servants and soma had a bigger roles and made it fun to watch. the last 5 minutes were great and we need more of that honestly.

fun idea, but executed like trash, so much like season 2. it's like taking yanas omakes and ruining them. annoying sitting thru the ova hyping season 2 up. also they did Hannah so dirty, again. 0/10

hannah literally is the only one bringing anything doing anything noteworthy in her scenes and still the camera sexualizes her any second they can get, literally salivating over her abuse, its insufferable. Hannah's actor should hit me up so we can go [redacted] her studio together <3

Hi! I hope I haven’t chosen an awkward time to ask you stuff (and that I hope you’re doing better/good. /gen <3) If so, then I don’t mind if you just… ignore this, but it’s been in my head all day, so I’ve returned to the Dame’s lair to ask further.

In Kuro II, when Ciel and Alois are sharing Ciel’s body (and Ciel is the one fronting, at the time), and Claude is butler-ing for Ciel (digging his characterisation into an even deeper, more unstable pit), he (Claude, digging the poorly written themes into an even deeper, more unstable pit) is brushing Ciel’s teeth.

That’s a whole scene. Yes, it’s weird. Yes, it was probably to make Claude even more of a weirdo (that shouldn’t have happened—silently rage-quitting at the fact that they did that, ultimately butchering his character… his actor in the The Making Of OVA was so right. He was our spokesperson, so to speak), but—despite seeing Sebastian do things like bathe Ciel, even in the manga—we’ve never seen Sebastian do that to Ciel (who is also fronting over Alois)?

It’s been a while since I’ve seen the episode, I’ll admit, but—seeing as Kuro II drifted significantly away from canon—not once do I recall picking up on the hint that Ciel, in the Kuro II universe, having Sebastian do that??

So… is it an Alois thing? I mean, I’ve wondered now and then, but your posts the other week about Alois wanting power and therefore asking/ordering Claude to feed him in front of company… this is why I wanted to ask your take on it, because it has a similar feel to it, you know?

Like, perhaps Alois wants to feel in control / want to feel cared for in a more intimate (intimate as in physically close, not sexual, although through the frost-tinted glasses of trauma, it could be perceived as the latter, in the characteristically sick, character study-type way, and not a morally sick, shipping-type way, because ew, gross) way? Perhaps he just wants to feel in control of Claude in a physically intimate, mock-emotionally-intimate/mock-loving way?

Maybe Alois is just clutching at straws. And Claude keeps snipping those straws. (Maybe if Alois knew what he wanted, to be loved, back when he contracted for Claude rather than when he contracted to Hannah, Claude would deliver an act of that love? Still deadpan, still distant, for that is what it is—an act as in a facade, not as in an action… perhaps that would make their situation even more tragic).

Hey ! So i'm good and just woke up from a bad dream so it's distracting enough dont worry lol

So, you're right we never see it with Sebastian and at that time, I thought since Ciel was okay with letting Claude do it, it was a normal part of the routine we were simply not seeing (Although it would be weird, because Ciel's routine has been described in details multiple times but who knows). I do not know if butler did that type of thing but i'm not on the no side (because a quick research didnt came up with anything and Claude was literally on the first page lol).

I think as you said, it's maybe a bit like the food thing. Alois doesn't exactly knows how to use a butler but still assert some power and use Claude's abilities to the most. The thing I pointed out as weird in my food post is that Alois only asked Claude to feed him in public as far as we knows, it might really be that : not fully getting and using a butler abilities to the most as a way to assert his role as the master.

I also think that, like you said, Alois being quite love deprived and also touch deprived I would think, he would ask Claude to do a lot of little tasks like this as a substitution. I also think it's a way for Alois to force interactions with Claude and since Claude is doing them he can trick himself into thinking Claude is doing it out of love and care no matter how monotonous the whole thing is.

Maybe it's also a way for Alois to seek negative attention from Claude too. Claude is only maintaining the illusion of caring because he accepts to do all of this without any protest/better explaining, however it's going to be understood fast enough that no reaction is actually not caring. Alois maybe wants to push him as far as possible to see if Claude reacts. Conflict is a way to maintain a relationship too.

Anyway thats a lot of speculations but also you wanted my take of this sooo, voilà ! Hope you have a nice day/night !

And about that thoughs, I don’t know if I can call it a theory but well, it’s kinda weird heh

Remember that moment from “The Story of Will the Reaper” OVA when cinematic records “attacked” William and he saw all the memories? I just started to wonder what if this kind of events were canon in manga. There could be a chance that something similar happened to Undertaker/136649 while he was still working as a Reaper. And if those records belonged to one of Phantomhives could this be the reason why he’s so interested in this family~?

Anyway, it’s kinda late for me, so hope you’ll enjoy it~

when do you think the weston college arc will be animated... it s probably gonna take 5 or 6 years :(

I’m not sure! I remember that BOC was announced some time in either late 2013 or early 2014 and then it came out a year later, so I assume the others were the same. BOA was only just released on DVD... meaning if there was to be an adaption for the Weston arc I wouldn’t expect any news just (?) yet.

It's hard to judge these things but I feel like BOA was at least a partial success? Merchandise sales seem quite good and they continue to release new ones (perhaps because it's being supported by the manga too) which appears to be a positive sign. A-1 pictures has a habit of cranking out too many things at once, so it wouldn't be surprising if they kept going... after all SAO is still being made by them. Though that is infinitely more popular than Kuro ; - ;

Who knows! I’d love to see an adaption of the Weston arc, but if it’s in OVA/movie format I’m not sure how they could work it out well. The whole arc has several sub-arcs within it (Maurice drama, cricket game, the Midnight Tea Party with UT) so it would be weird as two installments or one film.

SLEEPY LIFE OF SERVAMP OVA 3-TRANSLATION

Rejoice my fellow Sevamp lovers! I have been asked a couple of times for this and I just wanted to say thank you for all the nice messages and even the mentions in the tags where you guys liked the translations I was able to provide. THANK YOU SO MUCH! ヽ(=^･ω･^=)丿Thank you for being patient and also being the most awesome fandom! ☆*:.｡. o(≧▽≦)o .｡.:*☆

Wow...I can’t believe I managed to translate all the OVAs. At first I never thought that I would actually start on translating these, I mean, I was sure that a famous subbing group will pick them up. I wasn't confident to translate them but I did my best, not everything went well because I'm still not so advanced at Japanese and everything that I did required a lot of dictionary look up and searching references in sentences (When it comes to slang or short forms I’m not good at them...Audio material is also much tougher to translate...) But all in all, I learned new phrases along the way :D This OVA in particular was the most challenging of them all, so please, if you have time, look at my translation notes and comments :)

You guys have no idea how many times I had to replay some scenes to hear the dialogue...I don't think it compares to the previous ones. I really couldn't understand some of the words because quite a few sounded muffled or clipped to me.

(I think Mahiru's and Hyde's lines were the most problematic for me). I actually had to rely on Google Translate at some point to look up the Chinese subs! That was such a pain...it only helped me a few lines in order to make out the meaning at some lines. What else can I say other than MENDOKUSEEE...but I somehow managed to finish it.

-We know that deep down Sakya cares about Tsubakyun xD

-Also Tsubaki, poor boy has a limit to when it comes to how Sakuya treats him xD

-Not quite important, but in the comic version of the scene, instead of "come back home", the line was "answer your phone" LOL at Tsubaki for dragging that line so much xD

THE BOYS LOOK SO GOOD !!! ♥

Ahh Mahiru...I actually quite had a lot of trouble understanding some of his lines because I just wasn't able to make out what he was saying. The way he talks sometimes sound so muffled to my ears...

02:00-So, this line was quite hard to translate because I understood in 2 ways. The first was how I wrote in the subs, where I believe that Tsuyuki is saying that it's not enough for them to just have the theme of being masters and vampires OR he could be saying: "As you guys (the servamps and eves) are now, that won't be enough to capture the hearts of fans."

Just wanted to point this out cuz that would have been an alternative. (man it's like he is kinda saying that they need to up their game or something xD)

02:45- Sunshine idol of justice :)) It's sound like a superhero alias =))

Oh man, the struggles of rewriting their descriptions, I hope they sound OK cuz I went trough a couple of alternatives. At least for Mahiru this was the one I liked the best. ( also straight man=tsukkomi, look it up if needed)

Following this are Kuro's lines which I didn't quite either because there was one word that I couldn’t make out so I had to rely on context. Still found it a bit weird that he was looking forward to it xD Being a vampire cat idol :))

-Licht come on, give him a break xD Poor Hyde ;_;

-Mikuni, omg such narcissism xDDD Although it can’t be denied, you have the whole package.

(Also...Mahiru’s line. My head hurt for how much I had to put that on repeat because I couldn’t make out the words at all! So I translated it’s based on context and also 2 kanjis from the Chinese subs that kinda have the same meaning in Japanese which was “Each phrase..” thus given by his tone of voice and situation, I hope I got the meaning across).

-JeJe ACTUALLY popped a vein!!! OMG. Also laughing because of Mikuni’s laughing, he is having so much fun :))

05:19- What the actual fuck Tsurugi?!? “Sword of fantasy”...What does that have to do with being an idol??? That line was left me dumbstruck. I knew I was gonna have some problems when they are using English words and the pronunciation can be a little hard to understand sometimes. When I looked at the Chinese subs I saw the kanji for sword and I was like, really, did I hear right and he said something about a sword? Apparently the kanji for sword, which is typically pronounced as “ken” ( 剣 ) also has the reading “Tsurugi”. Like woah, I didn’t know that actually, because I always knew the “ken” pronunciation.

And then I was like: “So, if I replace sword with Tsurugi, does that mean that it would become “Tsurugi of Fantasy”? lol. My God, the struggle with this one, how weird it sounded! That was certainly quite an unusual way to describe himself...

05:25- I don’t know what Tsuyuki actually says there...I thought that he wanted to say: “You are almost in your 30′s”<---This I got by actually looking at the Chinese subs since it had 30 written there, but in Japanese I didn’t hear the mention of age/numbers at all. I wrote his line and broke down the words in so many ways to look up in the dictionary, but I got nothing. Thus, it became based on context again and actually combining what the Chinese sub said and in a way I made it sound like Tsuyuki is mocking him for acting childish? (Maybe Tsurugi wasn’t supposed to be an idol but he wanted to have fun too xD I mean the idol stuff was more directed towards the servamps and eves, while C3 acted like managers or something)

-TEAM MELANCHOLY IS IN THE HOUSE xD

Gah...It doesn’t look quite nice but the reason Belkia’s first line has such big text font is because he was just saying “furui” (old) over and over and making the font larger and using more space was the only way of covering up the other ones.

-I still fangirl at that scene with Sakuya and Mahiru♥♥♥ Just look Sakkun’s happy face! Also, please let him have a character song and a duet with Mahi!!!

-KYUN KYUN TSUBAYUN♥ He’s so cute xD

-If he ain’t doing something with Mahiru, Sakuya has no interest :))
