We return to another episode of Kuni rambles incoherently on tumblr with a phone at 18%

Alternately titled, someone take my phone the f r ag away from me

Ok. I apologize if someone else has come up with this idea first and this is therefore a pale comparison to the original idea, but um, here goes.

I want an au (?? Might have a different name based on what I'm talking about Actually, but brain Fried so I can't remember) where optimus gets to talk to his youngest self--to Orion Pax :0

Note: the times it mentions Optimus is like. from Op’s pov? Since Orion never learns his name?? If that makes sense?? Sorry this is so confusing aa a a--

Orion is pulled from his study books at the sound of footsteps.

A shadow is cast over him.

Wonder and disbelief spark in his gaze as he stares up at the rather grand figure before him.

This mech--plating a nearly exact match to his own in the red, blue, and silver coloring--seems to possess an air about him that is...neither true confidence, nor uncertain existence.

At the very least, it seems he knows who he is, and his purpose in this world. Something Orion is still working on.

Silence rests between them.

Optimus, meanwhile, feels an overwhelming sense of yearning.

Seeing Orion--seeing himself--he wishes he could go back to those days.

The simpler days of youthful naivety towards life.

When Cybertron still thrived under golden days and the silvery illumination of the moons at night.

When the buildings stood tall and beautiful and untouched.

When he could never have known the awful sight of a corpse at the end of his own sword, or the unnatural cries a bot makes as it is brutally murdered next to you, and you can do nothing but continue to fend for your own life...

"You are...studying for a quarterly exam?" Optimus asks, leaning closer to see the book. He recognizes the cover and feels a twinge in his spark.

He remembers the book.

...And that he never enjoyed Chemistry much.

"...I am.....but...how did you know?" Orion stands slowly to meet the gaze of the mech standing over his desk. His gaze turns to light worry and confusion.

Orion is acutely aware of a feeling in his spark that...a lot about this mech feels familiar.

Somehow even...intimately.

"A-actually...um...."

He stammers in the silence, fishing desperately for the words to use that would ask his question, yet still be polite.

After all, 'are you related to me?' is definitely an awkward--perhaps intrusive--question to ask a complete stranger...

Optimus continues to regard the young bot, slightly amused.

He knows what Orion is hoping to ask, but also that it would be hard to ask a question like that upfront, at least when he was a younger mech.

"Orion Pax," Optimus says, placing his servos on his hips.

"Y-yes?"

"Be careful not to stay up too late with that book. Tests require knowledge, but they also require one to be awake to take them...and sleep--"

"--helps a processor function, yes..." the smaller mech sighs, frustrated. He's heard that one before, but his mind isn't thinking about that at the moment.

Alright, so he knows my name, too. But...I've never met him? There's absolutely no way he doesn't know me somehow... but how could I possibly--

"Orion?"

He jolts at his name, almost blurting the question before pulling himself back.

The mech standing over his desk gives the gentlest of smiles and rests a firm servo on Orion's shoulder.

"I know what you are going to ask, Orion."

"You...do?"

"And I will tell you as much as I can."

What is he, inside my head now?

But he receives an answer that shocks him more than that would.

"I....am you, Orion, and beneath my title and age from my timeline....I am still you," he pauses, beginning to look a little sad now.

Orion blinks a few times, absolutely shocked.

"....but you're so....tall..." Is all he manages to murmur before realizing what he just said and instantly feeling heat rush to his face.

Optimus tightens his jaw as he doesn't wish to embarrass the archivist any further by laughing.

I was less careful with my thoughts and emotions once. If only I still knew how...

"I am a Prime, and I am fighting a war."

"A war?" Orion frowns in thought.

There's hasn't been a war since the revolution against the Quintesson oppressors.

What need had Cybertron to fight again?

"Is it an invasion of Cybertron to come? Or a resources conflict?"

And me? Fighting in that war? But...I fail every self-defense practice with Megatronus, at that's true no matter how hard I try...

Optimus feels his chest grow heavy as he remembers the pain Megatron's anger alone had caused him after the council of Halogen.

The guilt, regret, frustration at his friend's obstinance, fear, sadness...

He realizes quickly that he can't possibly unload the heavier truth to Orion--to himself--all over again.

He can't...bring himself to tell Orion that his closest friend and mentor would be the leading force in a centuries-long, gritty, bleak and somewhat horribly hopeless war against him and his cause.

So he instead offers a rather sad smile, and chooses not to answer the question.

"Orion, hear my words, even if you don’t understand them at present. No matter what happens or who around you turns for the darker path, you must never lose your spark, hope, or your character."

"My spark....and character?" He echoes, distantly. "Hope?"

"Indeed," Optimus affirms, feeling an uneasiness of his own.

The light in his eyes has dulled, yet they also maintain a grim light to them.

One that tells Orion that this mech has seen things he wished never to have seen, and never to see again.

A grief so strong it....scares him.

Orion feels a wave of uneasiness wash over his whole body.

Something very dark is somewhere in the future...and now he has something to do with it?

And...it involves him becoming bigger, taller, stronger? Learning to fight...to kill, maybe?

To kill means to take a life. To end it.

Orion swallows, at last processing the other part of what the mech had told him.

He had to become a Prime??

"I--but I couldn't...not in any dream could I..." He trails off, feeling almost too much at once.

I cannot kill.

Optimus senses the turmoil he's set in the younger mech and feels guilty immediately.

"Do not worry," he consoles him, reaching for his smaller servos. He then looks Orion in the eye, knowing the firmness will settle his mind. "My being here alone may be enough to stop what might happen to you, to this planet..."

Orion indeed beings to feel the pounding in his spark settle just a little.

A war would mean all kinds of devastation he couldn't begin to imagine...but this mech was from another timeline.

Perhaps we...are destined for another future.

"Above all, know that if you never lose yourself, then....whatever you become will be just as true as that," he tells him. The words are weighted with something profound.

The archivist knows in his spark that it will be a long time before he can grasp that emotion, but he is fine with that.

Orion blinks at him, feeling a new wave of mixed emotions he can't define. He feels himself tense as he tries to control it.

But the mech's hand reaches to his arm.

He nods encouragingly, and Orion just knows the Prime doesn't want him to pent up his emotions.

"In my eyes, Orion, you have always been a prime..."

Optimus draws back at last and slowly begins to leave.

It must be time for him to go...

Orion stands at his desk, staring, a forearm still raised.

"...Or so I am told by those around me..."

The mech adds with a mild chuckle before finally leaving the room.

Orion continues to stare at the now empty doorway ahead of him.

Was that even real?

Himself?

From another future?

And yet...there is that feeling in his spark...the gut instinct telling him to trust in what this mech had been saying, that it was all real...

He plops back into his seat, staring at the ceiling.

He is too lost in thought to try and get back into his late-night studying.

And then it sinks in.

I never asked him his name!!

He deflates a little and facepalms.

Orion, you dumbaft....

Alphabet Soup

rating: t word count: 1.7k pairing: jemily summary: perhaps love is in the little moments more than the grand gestures. 26 times (among many) that JJ and Emily fall a little bit more in love with each other in the everyday, smaller moments.

A - alphabet soup

JJ bought cans of alphabet soup for the boys when Michael first began to read, but Emily quickly found it much more entertaining to spell out words like "boob" or "ass" or "sex?" punctuated with a poorly modified capital P in place of a question mark. JJ had to shut it down when Michael asked what a "tit" was, and Emily panicked and mumbled something about birds.

B - bedtime

They would often unwind by reading before bedtime, and JJ found that Emily read through many foreign literature books. The nights she would fall asleep to Emily stroking her hair and reading aloud in words she didn't understand were the nights she felt most rested.

C - constellations

It was clear that Emily didn't actually know any constellations besides the Big Dipper and Orion. But when she laid on the grass with Henry and Michael, she made up stories in the stars about great heroes and the adventures they went on, and the boys fell in love with the night sky.

D - driving

JJ insisted on driving everywhere without the help of smartphone maps, which had gotten them lost on several occasions. Somehow it felt alright, when she had one hand on the wheel and one hand on Emily's leg, the windows were down, and her hair was streaming in the wind and reflecting the setting sun. Somehow it felt alright to be lost with her.

E - errands

For whatever reason, JJ made running any errand seem like immense fun. Buying groceries, getting gas, even sending a letter felt like an adventure when she was there. They'd only gotten kicked out of one grocery store — when JJ had knocked over an entire display stand of candy bars after running and jumping onto a shopping cart. They didn't regret anything.

F - forehead kiss

JJ wasn't that much shorter than Emily, but when the brunette pressed her lips to her girlfriend's forehead, JJ would feel the need to bury her face in Emily's neck to hide her blushing cheeks.

G - graveyard

On that day, JJ just needed space. So Emily took her to the flower shop the day before and drove her to the cemetery that morning and left her alone until she was ready. In the evening, they didn't speak, just laid with one another on the couch until JJ fell asleep in her arms.

H - horror movie

It was a cheap jump scare, but it made JJ scream out and grab Emily's arm, prompting the older woman to laugh at her. JJ responded with a playful slap, and Emily had to kiss her to reaffirm her love. They didn't finish the movie.

I - ice cream

On a day off, Emily took the boys to get ice cream, and when they came home raving about how Emily had managed to stack five ice cream scoops on top of a single cone, JJ knew she was with the right woman.

J - jaw

Emily's knees grew weak whenever JJ kissed up her jaw and whispered in her ear. Her girlfriend caught on and loved messing with her, working her up into a complete frenzy, then saying the most unsexy thing she could think of. Emily hated it, but she also couldn’t help but to collapse into a fit of giggles when JJ planted kisses all up the side of her face and whispered something like "corned beef" in a seductive voice.

K - kitchen

JJ would use every kitchen utensil as a musical instrument during any spare moment in cooking — while the food was cooking, while the water boiled, while the oven was preheating. She would sing into a wooden spoon and shove it into Emily's face to finish the lyric, and the two would dance in each others' arms all throughout the kitchen.

L - letters

When Emily spent her time in Paris and London, she and JJ wrote each other scores of letters the times they weren't together. They'd both filled up an entire box of papers and knickknacks until they were reunited. Even after, JJ would sometimes write a letter addressed to Emily, drop it into the mailbox and tell Emily to check the mail, for no reason except to make her smile.

M - mugs

JJ had an entire cupboard dedicated to mugs for her tea, which Emily could never understand because she only seemed to ever use two of them: one being a lumpy mug Henry had made in a pottery store and the other being a Valentine’s Day gift from Emily with lovely ceramic boobs protruding from the mug’s body.

N - notes

Emily bought a massive pack of post-its and began leaving notes for JJ around work, bringing a smile to her face every time she found a little colorful message. Some were encouraging — you can do it, you light up my world, you're amazing. Some were cheesy — i love you, je t’aime, when you see this blow me a kiss. And some were...questionable — JJ had to hide the extremely accurate (and well-annotated!) drawing of her naked body before Hotch saw.

O - omelette

Most of the time, Emily couldn't cook without the risk of burning the house down, but for some reason, she made the most scrumptious omelette. Despite not knowing how to cook scrambled or fried or boiled eggs, Emily's omelettes were always perfectly cooked, with an impeccable ratio of egg to filling. JJ tried everything she could to make them the same way, but the boys always preferred Emily's omelettes on Sunday mornings. JJ wondered if it was something she learned during her time in Paris.

P - plants

Before JJ, Emily had never been very good at taking care of plants. They seemed to die with little to no warning. But JJ had taught her well, making little plant calendars and teaching her signs to watch out for, and one morning, JJ caught her talking to one of the plants. As she listened more carefully, she heard that Emily was talking to each plant in a different language — according to the plant’s country of origin.

Q - quiet

The moments after the boys were put to bed were some of the only moments of quiet JJ and Emily got alone during the day. No matter how busy or tired they were, they always intentionally took a few moments to just quietly be with one another, curled up in the other's arms, lying in the other's lap, or simply sitting side by side.

R - rain

They'd gotten caught in the storm on the way back to the office from lunch. Despite JJ’s coat held up above them, the pair was getting drenched anyway, and they gave up and decided to make out in the rain instead. They swung their hands back and forth as they splashed over to the BAU, arriving soaked to the bone but elated, as Hotch shook his head at their sodden clothing and dopey grins.

S - Sergio

Emily had arrived home early and found JJ dancing in the hallway with Sergio to "Can't Stop the Feeling" blasting on the bluetooth speaker. She lifted her ban on Justin Timberlake that day, which had previously been in place when in a moment of weakness, JJ had declared she would choose him over Emily if given the chance. (She’d taken it back for Emily's sake, but deep down she couldn't really decide.)

T - thermostat

JJ liked the thermostat to be set at no lower than 77 degrees, while Emily loved the room as cold as possible. The first few months that they lived together was a horrible battle of constantly changing from one drastic temperature to the next, before JJ finally agreed to keeping the temperature low as long as Emily agreed to cuddle with her any time she got cold. Emily did not, however, realize that this compromise extended to the workplace, where JJ would sporadically ask for cuddles throughout the day, and Emily would have to comply.

U - ugly pajamas

Emily loved her ugly pajama sets. One of her favorites was a bright green Grinch onesie in a ridiculous Christmas sweater. JJ hated it until Emily showed it to the boys, and Michael howled with laughter and asked for one for himself. From that day forward, Emily bought her ugly pajamas in full family sets, including accompanying costumes for Sergio.

V - vanilla

Emily didn’t quite mind JJ’s early morning jogs because her favorite moments were when JJ came home after, took a shower, and climbed back into bed to give Emily a warm embrace, flooding her senses with the smell of vanilla shampoo. Emily would roll over to nuzzle her head in the crook of JJ’s neck and plant soft kisses there, breathing in her favorite scent.

W - wine

Emily drank red, JJ drank white. And Henry and Michael loved to join in, pretending to be adults by sipping grape juice from their colorful cups. Perhaps their family had unconventional tea parties, but at least they always had massive amounts of fun doing family activities tipsy. These were the nights when it was almost difficult to tell the difference between Michael and Emily’s coloring pages.

X - X-Files

JJ didn’t fully understand Emily’s deep obsession with The X-Files, but after Emily convinced her that she wasn’t only watching for Gillian Anderson, the younger woman began finding the long rambles and discussions of extraterrestrial life more endearing and interesting.

Y - yarn

JJ really wanted to get the hang of knitting and give something special to the boys, but Emily kept distracting her. Any chance she got, Emily would hold the yarn balls to her chest as fake boobs, use threads of yarn as mustaches, and drum the knitting needles against any surface. It wasn’t that JJ couldn't finish her projects out of annoyance — it was that JJ couldn’t help but laugh and find her girlfriend irresistible, forcing her to set aside her work and wrap herself up instead in the brunette’s embrace.

Z - zoo

It was Emily's explosive childlike joy when she had seen the dolphins. She claimed it was for the boys’ sakes, but JJ had noticed the pure excitement in her eyes when they saw the sign and felt the way Emily had tugged on her wrist to rush to the stadium and grab seats right in the splash zone. And in the screams of laughter and the moment when both Henry and Michael clutched at Emily when the water washed over them, JJ knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with this woman.

saw someone watching blue lock next to me in class earlier today and I was trying so hard not to just stare at them like 👁️👁️

I'm so glad it's getting rlly popular as a manga reader bc I cannot wait for the anime-onlys to lose their shit at the upcoming stuff LOL

I haven't watched the anime fully yet (watched some episodes but got really annoyed at the sheer amount of ads on free Crunchyroll) but the animation so far seems to do the manga justice from what I've seen

can't wait for more of the awakening scenes to be animated I love the puzzle piece motif so much

I discovered bllk in 2020 I think?? either during or after my haikyuu phase and I was like "I used to play soccer, let's see how this goes" and I got HOOKED on it

way before the anime was announced I knew for a fact that if it got one it would get popular and I was right

can't wait to see more of the characters get animated hehehe

this is bound to change if I get more ideas or when opinions on characters change but this is how the weapon assignment will go for now yay

some characters probably also use more uncommon weapons but making categories for all of those would take way too long. (and I have no ideas LOL)

the list is sorted alphabetically and not by unit I apologize

further explanations below for certain characters

Tori would probably also be in the "doesn't fight actively" category but idk I feel like he'd still throw hands at any given moment

all of Ra*bits except for mitsuru are also in this category because I see them having jobs other than patrolling or fighting

mitsuru would probably utilize his speed often, so he'd fight more than the others would methinks

all the characters in the sword category are kind of self explanatory

all of knights, ryuseitai, trickstar, switch, fine, and akatsuki use swords

Akatsuki would probably also use fans but I don't know how practical those would be for combat with lunarians

undead get spears because of their love for mic stands in their choreo

don't know exactly why I gave himeru a spear but the spear he uses would be kaname's old spear (kaname is still in a coma in this au, mans got shattered)

Adam uses spears and eve uses swords, don't really know why I made that distinction but yeah

oh but ibara would also use a whip (like bort does in the later chapters of the manga) he also has poison (I think I settled on lead? not sure) like cinnabar

alkaloid likes their swords, but tatsumi gets a spear bc. idk. felt like it suited him more (also so he can stay balanced bc of his leg)

mayoi gets the serrated sword bc I'd like to think they do winter duty to separate themselves from the other gems, and bc hehe sharp teef

magicians get their silly smoke bombs do I need to say more

shinobu is still a ninja at heart he had to have his shuriken

the sakumas are bloodstone, and probably control a blood-like metal or alloy bc. vampire. yeah. they still use their unit's weapons though but with a lil more spice

shu has gold alloy arms and can use most weapons but prefers spears (and the occasional axe)

the characters in "any" are self explanatory they're trained to fight they know how to use most weapons. sorry that guns don't exist here you can make do

Clarity

My main oc story! this baby is my passion project

fantasy & action yaya

elemental based magic system where (almost) everyone has magic within their souls that is shown through eye color (eyes are the windows to the soul type deal)

story focuses on the country of Aster where a rebellion against the king begins to run rampant, and the main character (Eli (I'll talk abt them in a bit)) has to choose what side to fight for after being given a letter to join the rebellion

there's elemental beings (and monsters!) who the main cast will have to tackle

along with the unsolved mystery behind the god of crystal's dormancy

there's a hell of a lot of queer people (we have token straights here), drama between ex-best-friends, general relationship drama, trauma of many shapes and sizes, and the main character's undeniable feeling of being watched wherever they go

about the main character! (the story will switch between character povs but Eli is still the lead here)

Eli Velle, 17, enby they/she, pansexual

does Not have magic, but everyone thinks they do due to their eye color being a very vibrant blue

despite their horrible treatment at school and in public, they love their parents and their parents love them

very knowledgeable on magic and has a good eye for noticing illusions

full of sarcasm

keeps a dagger hidden in their bag 24/7

I don't have any recent (finished) art of them but a friend of mine calls them "my little creamsicle" because of their color palette so have this LOL

I wanna talk about Hikaru more bc I think she's very neat

he enrolled in yumenosaki during the ! era, and joined the producer course alongside anzu and the other 3 producer ocs my friends made, quickly becoming friends and working together to help out however possible (I'm very unfamiliar with the ! era though so don't expect much content in regards to that haha)

Hikaru is semi-secretly a vocaloid producer under the online name lightcatcher! He wanted to be an idol when he was young but his fears got the best of him whenever he tried to sing in front of an audience and he was barely able to squeeze out a few notes

during his first year he is similar to anzu, being quiet and polite, but he learns to open up and be more outgoing especially with all the other idols beginning to rub off on him

he is a big fan of valkyrie and is heavily inspired by their music and aesthetic (I don't know if they ever find out why nazuna actually left or not, we'll see)

Hikaru is in the handicraft club, and makes outfits for himself on occasion (hiding idol uniform concepts in his sketchbook)

despite being a student at Yumenosaki, she still had quite the interest in the idols of Reimei and Shuuetsu (he has very limited information on the Reimei revolution but is aware of it)

he is a BIG fan of Eden as well (and may or may not have a celebrity crush on a certain viper) (poison strategy awakened something in him /hj)

in !! era, he becomes a lot more outgoing and even snarky to his peers, but overall still reserved

she joins cospro and works there as a producer, not really assigned to a specific unit yet, and then crazy:b happens.

he is assigned to work with the new unit and is. Worried, to say the least

main story stuff happens you get the point eventually Hikaru grows attached to them and gets pretty sad when rinne runs off

oh and as all this happens she also begins to work with the other units of cospro, but more with 2wink rather than Eden and valk (sadly I am not a 2winkP so I can't really go into their potential dynamic). Hikaru begins to be seen as a better producer as time passes, and he gets trusted with harder jobs

idk when this would happen, probs after main story 1, but ibara sends them off to work with Valkyrie for a live and Hikaru freaks the fuck out

he knew mika a little bit during his 1st year but otherwise only has fan knowledge abt the two, and he nearly reverts back to his very quiet and polite persona in the presence of shu (I mean why wouldn't he when all of Valkyrie's production team gets scared off constantly). he does however see this as a chance to prove himself and the live ends up going very well! he gets to live another day under cospro! a similar thing happens with Eden as well, and she gains a lot of confidence, but still

actually y'know what I might incorporate the glowing scar thing into clarity

people with affinities have glowing eyes bc of magic since they're the windows to the soul, but what if scars give off light too that corresponds with their element? because the souls in clarity are technically a part of their bodies — just not visibly, so their soul gets cut, and some magic seeps out into the wound. so when it heals, the magic that was inside the wound would cause it to glow

wounds heal faster because of the magic as well

this would not happen with people that don't have affinities however and their scars just work as normal, along with a standard healing rate

adopted son of the king, is a prince but is shockingly (ha) casual about it

youngest of 3 siblings (all are adopted)

tech savvy and very clever

still getting the hang of his affinity and has a tendency to shock people upon physical contact (nothing severe)

god I can't tell which new vday song I like more...

it might be ruby love because I think the song itself is a bit more to my music taste than melting rouge soul but both songs are so good......

Adam's vocal ranges are amazing (still losing it over ibara high note), and eve sounds especially good in this song.. I love Jun's voice So Much. hiyo rap too! I wasn't expecting it but he sounds so nice,, their voices mesh so well

Eli is someone who has turned their weaknesses into strengths through years of hard work. They were banking on having strong magic as a child, so when they did not get an affinity like her other friends, the confidence she once had was shattered. She was a leader figure within her friend group, and it was all taken away the day the others began to grow stronger than she could in her current state.

Her closest friend, Gavin, was beginning to be influenced by another party — his older brother. Gavin's family lived in a small town west of the capital, close to the mountain range, though it was hard to get there, and Gavin's parents were strict about visitors. Gavin's brother mattered a lot to Gavin, and it showed. The bond Eli and Gavin had shattered, and Gavin simply watched as Eli faced harassment and bullying. In Eli's eyes—they wer abandoned. The two were barely teenagers when this occurred.

Gavin then moved schools, and Eli, with no knowledge of Gavin's exact whereabouts, wasn't able to do anything. He never visited again. No reason, explanation, or apology given. After a while passed, Eli learned to let go.

Eli began learning to fight, taught by her father, who also needed a way to defend himself with his lack of magic. A dagger became Eli's friend, and a sword? A close acquaintance.

No matter what, Eli's parents stuck with them, and they became her support system. What they lacked in friends they had in family. A lack of magic lead to a surplus of knowledge, how affinities work, the science behind the soul, how lacking magical glowing eyes meant sneaking around in the dark was much easier. How to see the difference between reality and an illusion made of light.

They became strong in their own way, a way that can never be taken from them.

Or so they think.

What would happen if the person they learned to let go of never did the same? What would happen if their support system was out of reach? When they are thrown into a rebellion that was supposed to be eliminated decades ago, will they follow its leader?

Will the shadows tempt Eli, or will the light show them the truth? Only time will tell, I suppose.
