Cassandra handles this realization pretty much the same way she deals with anything… irrational violence and unbridled aggression. Initially pushes Y/N away. She can be kinda self-destructive (and regular destructive), but she always comes around in the end. God help poor Y/N…

To me, Daniela is the quintessential Disney princess of the Biohazard franchise. Obsessed with love, bit of a bookworm, cute af… has lousy taste (did you hear her simping all over Ethan during her boss fight? 🤢) I like to think that she would sing a pretty little song about how in love she is and that her lovely voice would attract all these cute critters… hopefully she won’t snack on any of them tho…

Now I can’t get it out of my head that a crossover fic of WWDITS and Re8 would be the wildest thing to read. Like Nadja, Laszlo, Nandor, Collin, and Guillermo would just be ruining MM’s life at every turn. Direct and indirect. Cuz there’s no way they would let her get away with the shit she does, but the shenanigans they get into would also drive her nuts.

Nadja would befriend the Dimitrescu family with ease. Might help them with controlling their feeding habits, would reassure them that their bat form isn’t into bugs. Would try and smooch Donna on sight and cause chaos with Angie and her little doll self she has. Sal, she would feel bad for the guy and try to be his friend. Karl might be hit and miss. Probs would fight him and after they would be best frenemies.

Laszlo would vibe with Karl the most, probs gonna drink with him and smoke cigars. Somehow, he is also besties with the Dimitrescu family (the girls think he’s funny and Alcina respects his respect for women). Also loves Donna but more platonically. Supports Nadja and Donna’s relationship. Fights with Angie on the reg (may have been kicked out for a bit for destroying a part of Donna’s house after trying to get away from Angie and Nadja.) Sal is his bud, tho. They would watch films together and Laszlo would get him some non moldy ass food.

Nandor would just be vibing and hanging out with everyone. Low-key gonna usurp MM when given the chance cuz even she tests his patience. He would straight up be down to spar with the Dimitrescu daughters and often flies them around. He would be that cool and awkward uncle and this earned him residence at their home.

Collin would just be draining everyone’s energy, manages to get into any home, and often “ruins” the meetings with MM. almost got knocked out by Donna and Karl a few times. Alcina has tried killing home at least a dozen times but he drains her too quick.

And Guillermo would just be a nervous wreck the whole time. Trying to fix shit and make sure they all don’t end up in deep shit. He would be also the most protected and would live with Nandor at the Dimitrescu castle (He’s the one who takes MM out on accident, cuz he’s just that kinda guy).

J Watches Arcane: Ep. 6, Random Thoughts/Play-By-Play

Aight, back into the fray we go. I'm under the impression that this episode either includes the Vi/Jinx reunion, or at least has the scene where Jinx lights the flare, so I might not be able to appreciate the animation through all of my tears.

Per usual, a quick disclaimer: These are just things I think about/notice while I watch (including "asdfhjkl I'm gay" and dumb jokes), and aren't intended to be taken as full on commentary. Taking notes like this helps me process parts of the show, and also makes it easier for me to deal with the sad parts by spreading it out (without requiring me to take a full-on break).

Anyway, under read-more for length

(0:00) I am not ready for this. Why did I think watching this without being sleep deprived was a good idea?... Oh, right, because I want to read my friends' fanfics without worrying about spoilers

(0:22) that water is not kid friendly. or life friendly. might not even be water friendly, if we're being honest

(0:52. "Sky?") WAIT. THAT'S BABY SKY?... I didn't realize that Sky and Viktor met when they were kids. also just saying I did get spoiled on what happens to her and I am SO mad, especially because I managed to go MONTHS without any Arcane spoilers, only to get hit with several MAJOR ones right when I got back around to watching the show.

(1:34) bby me would have loved being friends with any of the Arcane cast (well. almost any of them). I woulda loved watching Viktor or Powder or Ekko tinker with things, even though I wouldn't really understand any of it. I loved to take things apart, too, to see how they worked inside. I can imagine taking scrap apart, then eagerly giving the pieces to the other munchkins, to see what they could end up doing with them, you know?...

(2:03) The subtitles here say "monster grumbles", and I would just like to say that Squishy here (the temporary name I have given them) is not a monster. They're a good squishy baby

(3:00~, "she's dying") SQUISHY NOOOOOOOO. okay, I mean, I am under the impression that Singed (do we know what his real name is?) does manage to keep Rio alive, though I guess I technically don't know how long that lasts. BUT SQUISHY NOOOOOOOO. Also, Viktor is such a good lad and I am preemptively crying about the future angst

(6:01) Ah, nice! I had heard a few mentions of Mel doing art, but not enough to know whether it was canon or just a popular HC (considering my time in the RE8 fandom, I know how easily the lines can be blurred). Also. Just. Thinking. 'bout how Mel herself is a work of art and asdfghjkkll;;; you get it

(6:17, "duty calls") there is going to be a major ouch incoming in 3, 2, 1... or at least I assume that Jayce will mention Viktor's health. But I kind of wonder how Mel could possibly be out of the loop? Unless Jayce left her room before he found out about Viktor. I had kind of assumed that someone came in to tell them, but I suppose that wouldn't really make sense, given that we see the moment Mel wakes up alone. Maybe someone knocked on the door, and Jayce woke up but Mel didn't, and he didn't wake her up before leaving? Idk

(8:54) giving people heart attacks really is Jinx's favorite pastime, isn't it? poor thieram Chuck

(9:53) Did they not have time to even do a basic wrap for Vi's wound? My poor blorbos :( I am not ready for this episode, and I am using ever chance to procrastinate

(11:06) THE FUCKING WAVE OH MY GOD. This is why Jinx is the best. Also everything else about her. Well. Almost everything. Let's be real, tho, I clearly have zero standards and a thing for women with no morals, stemming from the unfortunate idea that's ingrained in my brain, that my mistakes have made me inherently unlovable. But hey, this ain't therapy time! It's procrastination time!

(11:54) first off. girls with knives are pretty, so jot that down. second of all... knowing the vague direction that Jinx + Vi's relationship goes (as in the basics of what kinda destroys their already-crushed fragments of family), I have to wonder... would things have turned out differently if Sevika didn't say this? If Sevika didn't plant that first seed of "Vi replaced you with Caitlyn"? Somebody with trauma like Jinx's, with her sensitivity, is probably pretty susceptible to this kind of manipulation. I'm not saying that she wouldn't have reached the same conclusion eventually, but I just wonder if this single moment is what tips the scales in that direction

(13:27, "she was about your age") that is factually incorrect, sir. is your eyesight that bad, sir? are you aware that your coat makes you look 10x cooler, sir?

I feel like this is the one that I've seen referred to as Ran. where do y'all get these names from? what context am I missing??? I know I've seen people mention storyboard stuff, but I've literally never seen any of the storyboards. Where did y'all get them?

(14:38) for a split second I thought Silco was just going to, ya know, fucking knock over the house of cards just to be a dick. it would have been so funny oh my god. like obviously he still makes it fall down, but I thought he was just going to literally push it over, or maybe even kick it. anyway he's a dick. I feel so bad for ren right now. and also all the time because her dad is marcus

(15:26) let me just jot this scene down as things to consider when I eventually make a post detailing my very bad, very fake, absolute crack theory that I will not define here.

(17:40, "I suppose topside is to blame for all your misfortunes") that's it! that's the whole show! Piltover is fucked! The very foundation is infected, and it corrupts everything it touches! Even the topsiders who want to do good, who want to make the right choices (like Jayce, like Caitlyn) are limited by the very city they are trying to help! People cannot make the right choice if the right choice was never an option to begin with!!!

(18:25) Real quick props to the animation team. Every scene progresses Viktor's illness, and it is heartbreaking. But it really shows the pressure he's under, really enforces the fact that he's working against the clock. Anyway, time for me to cry

(20:10, "I'm a friend") OH MY GOD. I KNEW I RECOGNIZED THAT VOICE. time to cry

(21:41) First off, how the fuck you wearing heels? Second of all, gay. Love you, you're gay for Vi, have a nice day, I am having feelings and am trying to ignore them

(25:27) We're just having a fucking blast making me feel things, aren't we? Huh? HUH? WE'RE JUST GONNA MAKE J FEEL THINGS TODAY, IS THAT RIGHT???

(25:30) you know that Mel has played everyone on this council. you know that she has manipulated them, expertly, time and time again. and you have to wonder... if she hadn't been the first to raise her hand, would the others ever make that move? or are they the reverb to her performance?

hi, it me again (again)! about everything mia: i think it's all capcom being capcom about its female characters (remember Claire? Jill? Rebecca? Ada? literal mains and they've been gone for years from the games, it's all been chris and leon main and chris as the only main that appears in the last two, with Ethan as main; remakes not count) so what little they gave us is just ehh not enough for a full picture like you said; she was kinda interesting in 7 but sidelined in 8+dlc, and damsel in distress for both main entries. as capcom said they're done with the Winters for now... we may never know if there was something interesting like, oh she got reminded of Evie and trauma, or resentment because Ethan's dead after saving her, or just chris taking the bow child away because she's dangerous?? idk, capcom tell us! and stop sidelining your women characters!

no one telling Rose about Ethan in dlc just rubs the wrong way. like 16 years of nothing, no pics or stories... like they didn't even tell her he'd be proud of her? isn't that something most people tell kids with a dead parent? i am a sad panda (but it's narratively nice because she gets to explore his memories, that's so very private and adorable <3). like, I get it the memories are painful but taking away the kid's right to know? D:

"...if I'm misremembering but I think Ethan found some suspicious documents about things Mia was doing at the start" Ethan never found out anything about mia or her involvement with the connections or what happened in Louisiana, and she made a deal with the bsaa to not tell him anything about her if she rats out her employers (post re7, and chris hadn't gone rogue yet - you can find all this in 'the baker incident report'). He only knew she had something to do with it but nothing concrete, and every time he wanted to talk about it, they fought; last instances with the real mia were the hospital where she "blew up" at him for mentioning Louisiana and the flashback post crash at the beginning of RE8. (Miranda took her place a day before or same day 8 happens, because same clothes) It's Chris that finds photos of mia with miranda and eveline in Miranda's lab, but he already knows they worked together so he has no reaction to that, but he does to her documents of Spencer.

Oh if only, oh if only. I do love the male mains bc they've fleshed them out true. I live for every crumb we get about Ada tho. We need a girls only centered game. Let them be awesome capcom, they deserve it. Mia disappearing is my 'favorite' [sarcasm] mystery tho, because I can and will make 20k conspiracy theories about her not being there since doubt we'll ever get an answer. I just hope it wasn't anything that hurt Rose too much.

Right!? Someone, anyone, should have told her at least the bare minimum! If nothing else, to keep 'the asset' happy so she wouldn't become a problem. Like, if nothing else you'd expect them to at least use that logic if the problem was them not seeing her as a literal child. It's so very odd. I mean, it's obviously that way just so they can get that one cute scene (I too absolutely adore the childhood memories scene. was one of the best moments of the game really) but that doesn't work as well narratively-wise. Capcom we need hindsight to be part of the plot planning too!

Yeah that! I am, not good at remembering which ch knows what tbh. Too many wikia binges at 2am. Brain just accepted Chris knowing as Ethan knowing as well. Still sad to see those secrets making Ethan and Mia fight tho. Though, makes me wonder what would have happened if Ethan knew of her involvement from the start. Or if like, Chris and Co. told him they suspected Mia was replaced.

I wish, I wish. Bit odd the car stopped there if it's just his spirit or smthn tho. Also really? Thought it wasn't possible to make the pic clear enough. Really do hope we see more of the remaining Winters soon enough (like by 2025, preferably).

It’s really nice having things to look forward to. Resident Evil 8 just came out, so I have let’s playa and streams to watch. The Stanley Cup playoffs are on the horizon and I’m gonna watch them (virtually) with my friends. Like everything else is depressing but I got these things going for me!

Kalimera again! First of all, you can call me G. I have watched the RE8 playthrough before, but not the whole game, therefore I'll look at your recommendations. If I'm not wrong, I found your blog through the RE8 tag. I saw some Greek women who stream on Twitch. They were playing Volorant. Unfortunately, I don't enjoy watching that kind of game. I prefer to watch story-based games.

Yeah in general I haven't found many Greek streamers who do full gameplays of story-based games with commentary on. I aspire to be one myself, lol, if I ever make enough money to buy me a gaming computer and streaming equipment. We need the representation in the gaming area! do we really tho

I just realized there's another re8 gameplay with Greek commentary I haven't watched. I will link it here, but I haven't seen it, so I can't vouch for the guy (I think I've found him through him having a few spots in the speedrun tables for re8, and I saw that he had his full first-time playthrough on his channel, so I added it to my to-watch list which is already too long why am I doing this XD)

I always wonder about non-Greeks who live in Greece; what's your favourite part of living in Greece? Like, is there something that would keep you here, and if yes, what would it be?

How are you liking Far Cry 6? Is it worth the money?

Short answer: wait for a sale (imo at least 50% off)

I always avoid FPV game because I get motion sickness quickly (bought RE8 solely for Lady Dimitrescu and a 3rd person mod). FC6 is quite bad quite bad with "texture degrading over time (play for 1-2 hours, new textures stay lowres), hardcoded postprocessing settings". Combined that with lags and stutters, welp. The lags are particularly bad when you check the map or call for horse/vehicle, good luck avoiding this in an open-world game lol.

Gameplay wise, imo it's typical fps game. The looting is quite repetitive tho, wish it was just one button loot all in the room, rather me holding a button for 2 seconds every time I wanna loot 2 metal scraps lol. My huge pet peeve: no manual save, you're at the mercy of auto save and pray that you don't get the Deathloop bug.

The story is fun and the dialogues are even funnier. Besides Dani, there are many badass guerrilla women and I love that! Vietnam has a long history of guerrilla warfare because our country is tiny af and for 4000 years women fought just like men, so having a game that depict badass female guerrilla fighters like Clara and Camila is an amazing thing to see.

And then Dani is such a fun protag to play as: she's confident, sassy, and badass, she's a dog person (Chorizo baby!), and she sings along to the radio OwO The voice acting for her is *chef kiss* There are 4 suits outfits for her (1 is locked behind mtx, 2 are ultimate ed exclusive, 1 is Amazon prime exclusive) and another cool one is Terminator-like outfit, which is locked in the season pass.

Basically, FC6 is the first FC game I'm ever interested in playing simply because of Dani.

I saw someone the other day here on good ol' tungle complain (before the show came out, mind you) that Claire wasn't going to be in the show enough and wasn't gonna play an integral role, and like. I can understand why that thought is upsetting, bc the girl is a badass and deserves more screentime for sure, but like not only did they end up being wrong (our girl kicked ass, played a huge role in the plot, and was just generally amazing) but they had like, blamed Leon a little bit for it? As tho it was his fault the writers don't give three shits about the female protagonists in the franchise (who, if I remember correctly, only one of which gets an actual entire game to herself? The rest, to my knowledge, are POV swapping games, which are fine but like. Come on Capcom)??? It was v weird and caused me to unfollow them bc they were already disappointed by the show, they blamed Leon, and they acted like, surprised? I don't know about you, but I'm never surprised by franchises like this when they put one of their main female characters on/in the promotional to garner attention and then she's actually only in it for five seconds. That's just misogyny (which I'm not excusing or saying is okay, obvs, but don't push blame onto the other main character, just bc he's the main character? Leon didn't choose to push Claire out of the spotlight, and honestly I don't even think he did. Like he got more screentime then her, yeah, but I think this is as close as we were gonna get to a fair split amount of time between the two, with capcom's history of "women? What women? Oh you mean convenient plot devices?"), so don't hate on people who love Leon, and don't hate on the character himself. Like what the what? As a Leon lover (he is my favorite, I love him sm), I am pissed that we never get to see Claire in anything, that we hardly ever saw Jill after RE3, and that all female protags are secondary to their male counterparts. It's bullshit, frankly, but taking it out on other fans and the other characters in the franchise is. Not good, and will just isolate you further from the fandom. Don't know if this is a hot take or not lol and I'm not trying to like be mean or start a fight with anyone, I just needed to rant about this bc it was bothering me and I figured you would kinda get where I was coming from? Also I love your rants, you are v knowledgeable lol

okay so... i saw some of that going around too. and it doesn't really make sense to me for multiple reasons. first of all, some people already decided that ID would suck even before it came out, they decided Claire would get no screen time and decided they'd ruin her character and... all of that before they'd seen more than the trailers? and I just don't get it, why not give it a chance before judging it?

i do understand that people want Claire to have a big role and want her to get the chance to shine. i want that, too! she absolutely deserves that! and I get being scared of what would become of it! i was nervous beforehand that they'd take the characters (both of them) into a direction that I'd find disappointing. when I pressed play on the first episode I was terrified as much as excited, because there was no way of knowing before seeing it.

but i do think it's important to press play and watch for yourself before condemning the entire thing.

and as for blaming Leon for Claire allegedly not having a large enough part in it? it... makes zero sense. it's not like they're living breathing people who have an actual say in what happens? :'D overall I find it weird how readily people jump to attack other characters to defend their own favorites. I don't understand this whole shooting down others to lift your own fave. there are ways to appreciate a character without hating on everyone else.

(that is not to say you're not allowed to hate on characters! of course you can hate characters! but like. you don't need to hate whoever you deem a "rival" just because. it's not a competition.)

and yeah, there is a long history of misleading promotion where a character is advertised as a main character and then sidelined to only appear for a bit. and it was a possibility. but it didn't happen, and I for one am happy about it. (what I am disappointed in, is that they made it seem like Leon and Claire would work together, while they did that for like two and a half minutes. but well. can't win them all)

(tangentially, they did something a bit similar to Chris in re8 too, the promotions relied super heavily on him but from what i understood (without having actually played the game, so correct me if i'm wrong!) he was a playable character for a very small portion of the game. so. they used him and his fanbase for promotion a little misleadingly. so yeah it is a real concern that could've happened)

like you said, Leon might've gotten more screentime if you only count the minutes. but Claire was an integral part of the story, she was fighting for the things she believes in, she got to be fierce (that headbutt is like the highlight of the movie :'D) and it wouldn't have been the same without her.

yeah it is bullshit how Capcom just threw Jill aside, and are tragically underusing a lot of their female characters. and I'm not trying to excuse that. but I do think they have a general problem with forgetting all of their characters except for Chris and Leon, who have gotten to be in most things (even tho to be fair they're not getting a fully consistent storyline either but. they do get screentime?). they create the most wonderful characters and then forget all about them, and it sucks.

but that's a problem with the people who make these movies and games. not the characters in said movies and games. so taking your own disappointment out on other characters and their fans is just... counter productive at best. it just leads to anger and resentment and the absolutely pointless fandom wars no one benefits from. i, for one, am too old for that bullshit.

so yeah, I get what you're coming from. it is so frustrating to see the unfounded hate. and tbh I've seen Leon get quite a bit of it. but that just comes with the territory I guess. he is popular, and some people react badly to it. which doesn't make sense to me, personally, but hey it is what it is.

I know it's easier said than done, but try to focus on the good! we got new content, Leon and Claire both got to be important parts in the story, they both kicked ass and looked amazing doing it! for the most part they both felt very in character, and I have high hopes we might get more in the form of season 2! :3

also, I'm glad you're enjoying my ramblings :'D I have a lot of thoughts but I usually get carried away rambling and I'm never sure how much sense i make, lol.
