Young Adult tropes: setting faves!
Hi ppl, I'm going on with this little experiment where I pick some of the most common YA tropes and try to figure out which are the most loved ones through Tumblr polls.
We had our beloved Heroine trope winner (Apprentice Witch trying to master her power) aaand, of course, our Love Interest poll: Rough Cinnamom Roll guy takes it all!

Now, stretch your swift fingertips: time to tell your fave among these selected YA settings, loosely based on some of the most beloved YA books series! Feel free to add more in comments :*

You know what, I fucking love the concept of "anti-historical" story. Who cares about facts, if you want facts open Wikipedia or a history book. We want satirical humor, bigger than life characters, swirling romances and passionate hatred, absurd comedic moments and insane political strategies.
Also Robert Lloyd is fucking hilarious.

Would you ever write a sci-fi story? ^^
Depends on what you mean by sci-fi. I am really not into outer space stuff except for specific exceptions (sorry Star Wars and Star Trek fans, but I tend to be bored as hell in front of your stuff, if I have to chose I’m a Guardian all the way), nor am I really jumpy for Asimov’s stuff (frankly I will probably be kicked out of geek labels after saying that, but I really am bored by it). THAT SAID. I love sci-fi that is close to home. Dystopias, uchronias, post-apocalyptic stuff (and I’ve grown up reading 1950-60′s sci-fi short stories, so yeah). Things that just need some years before it’s developped. And I HAVE written a few short stories like that when I was in high school (namely one post-apo one where the planet is overridden by enormous wolflike creatures killing everyone after experiments gone wrong and one dystopian one where a dude agrees for a shady job offer to feed his family and ends up with half of his organs stolen. Of course both were really really bad stories but I have done that lol). So why not again ? If an idea strikes. Maybe as a fanfic AU. Idk. Does steampunk fill into sci-fi or fantasy ? I′d say sci-fi for uchronia but I tend to mix it with alchemy so then it’s fantasy. Anyway can you feel I have one brewing somewhere ? Maybe.
