Within the Minecraft Bedrock version, you get an in-recreation pores and skin builder. Pc Games With Character Creation Offline

Games With Character Customization Pc
Steam Games With Character Creation
One of the things I love most in a RPG (Role-Playing Game) is the possibility of creating my own character with tons of different options and add-ons. I made a research yesterday and found some interesting PC Games I already knew about, adding them to the titles I have or plan to get with the best Character Customization. I’m going to list them here for you guys also attaching a few videos so that you can see directly how they work and what kind of possibilities they offer.
It’s the main reason I enjoy games like Skyrim and Fallout. But there seem to be so few good (single player) games with decent character creation - and not just picking from a few presets. The character creation in Dragon Age: inquisition was amazing (although I struggled to enjoy the game) as well as Saints Row (which I really enjoyed). Addicting Offline Co-op Games For PC You’ll Want To Play. Dennis Patrick / Features / Best Co-op PC Games, Co-op, Cooperative. Sonic the Hedgehog is a staple video game character. Best MMORPG with Character Creation. Final Fantasy 14 has one of the most complex and sophisticated character editors. In this game, you can change the smallest details using different sliders, pick a unique voice, or add unique tattoos, accessories and facial paint. What Are Best RPGs With Character Creation? Role-playing games let us live out some of our greatest fantasies like slaying dragons, saving the world and owning a house. Whether your main character is dead, alive, or somewhere in between, these games will let you adjust your appearance and abilities to however you see fit. I've always loved games that give you the option to create your character before you start in the world. I enjoy the game even more when it has role playing or social aspects added to it, allowing you interact with NPCs, or other players if the game has a multiplayer feature. Just character creation would interest me enough to check any game out.
Follow me under the cut if you’re curious!
I’ve been introduced to this type of creation with a game I still keep in my heart and consider one of the best of all times; The Sims 2. Seriously, I’ve created so many 3D characters that if I could win an award I’d have 200 on my shelf by now.
With that said, here you are my personal list of PC games with their awesome customization in no particular order:
I tried this game myself (the free beta that is) a few times in the past and I swear the CC included in it is currently one of my favorite. Without the complete pack I probably didn’t have a lot of additional options available in terms of clothes, makeup and hair, but what truly mesmerized me at the time was the shaping tool, not yet common in games when they released EVE. You can grab and drag different parts of the head and body, modeling unique characters every time.
Tumblr media
2. Black Desert Online
This game has been released recently with two different packages and it seems to be quite a popular MMORPG (Massive(ly) Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) in Russia and Korea. I’m not surprised considering the quality this game seems to have and its customization is clearly no less. Just like EVE Online, Black Desert offers a good sculpt instrument to shape faces and bodies as much as you like, plus a beautiful variety of colors and combinations.
UPDATE: The game is also available on Steam!
This patch lets you play Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks with mostly non-touch based controls. The new control bindings are Control Bindings: D-Pad=Run Y+Dpad=Walk B=Wide slash B+Dpad=Long slash Y+B=Spin Attack A=Interact A+Dpad=Roll. Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks D-Pad Patch This patch implements non-touchscreen controls for essential actions in Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks. Legend of zelda spirit tracks xenophobia patched rom.
3. Blade&Soul
This is another Asian MMORPG with the classical ‘Anime’ style, you cannot freely reshape the character’s structure, only pick one of the available presets and play around with the sliders to modify the whole body. Andy mckinney molly hatchet. Still, I honestly like the bright colors, the races/classes and the fact that you can actually recreate other existing characters using additional content (just like this guy did with Cloud from Final Fantasy VII).
4. BLESS Online
Yes, another Asian online title. Hey, it’s not my fault if they look so pretty! Bless is quite recent and not yet released in its final stage, but judging by how the CC works you have as much freedom as in EVE or Black Desert and the same unmistakable Fantasy touch.
5. The Sims 4
Didn’t I mention The Sims 2? Well, looks like the latest title in the series has improved quite a lot in this area. The shaping/sculpting method is here as well, considering that we finally have more possibilities I certainly won’t complain!
Note: In this video I can see the woman has a few mods installed. If you decide to get this game (or even the previous chapters) I definitely suggest you to do the same if you don’t like the default character design.
6. Fallout 4
Another recent (and quite famous) game. Apparently you can only work on the face here, but once again we see the sculpt tool in action. Even if the hair options are a bit limited you can still customize your character and create unique features playing around with your cursor.
7. Dragon Age: Inquisition
Who knows me is well aware of the fact that I am completely OBSESSED with this game, thus I couldn’t really leave it out. The hair options are definitely questionable and just like in Fallout 4 you do not have any body morph nor slider to alter, but as you can see from this video example you are still able to personalize your Inquisitor in a good way, also using real people or other characters as reference. To be honest I like some of the default presets too, if you don’t like spending two hours working on a face (I do that all the time, but I am a basket case so please ignore my madness :P), you can pick those and get a good result nonetheless.
And don’t forget about mods! 😉
8. Skyrim (The Elder Scrolls V)
This one has been around for a very long time and it remains probably the top 1 Fantasy game out there. If you’re not into mods at all and want to keep your game vanilla be sure that the overall quality is not as improved as the current generation, you can see that from the low-res hair and general textures. The reason why I’m including this CC in the list anyway is because even if old, Skyrim looks quite good compared to other games where you only get 3/4 slider options.
9. APB Reloaded
The last game I’d like to mention (and I literally just discovered it) is this not so new title which has a kick-ass Character Creator. Not only it shows some quality graphics there, but the level of customization is unbelievable! You can make hair shorter, beards longer, create beautiful tattoos (and place or rotate them wherever you want!), add patterns to clothes and even get your personal car! 😀

There are of course many other games with a Character Creator, but they all seem pretty similar or not good enough to be mentioned in my list.
What do you think about these? Let me know with a comment if you like!
Those late-night multiplayer sessions can be really fun sometimes. Surely, everything is better with friends, they say and you’ll agree with that at some point. However, after a long day of work and studying, I like to relax with offline games. Sometimes, it’s satisfying to let yourself indulge in a great single-player story and forget about any problems bothering you. So, if you are like me, then welcome to the club! Below is my list of 20 best offline games for PC and I hope you’ll enjoy them.
1. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
W2k16 pc download. Well, you’ve guessed it! The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt takes first place on the list with its epic setting, characters, gameplay, and those breathtaking visuals! It’s a compelling game that will offer you more than a hundred hours of non-filler gameplay, and there’s always something to explore. The game looks amazing, and the combat system is great. This open-world title is everything you need on your free days! Combine that with the great RPG elements and fun dialogues with NPCs, and you got yourself a pretty good offline game! Go and play it now, it’s a must-play.
2. Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus
Wolfenstein series has been once again revived with Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. The positive reviews flashed all around the globe, and this game quickly became one of the best shooting games of 2017. B.J Blazkowicz is such a badass protagonist and the characters surrounding the game are interesting. You’ll quickly start to care about each and every one of them, making this game a worthy offline title. Bethesda said that they won’t be focusing on multiplayer, so they can bring an immersive single-player experience. Well, you nailed it, Bethesda; great job!
3. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Bethesda is one of my favorite companies when it comes to gaming, at least they were a few years back. A few years back, this masterpiece called The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was released and it took the Earth by storm! This offline open-world title offers hundreds of hours of exploration and you’ll probably never get bored of it! The combat system might be dated, but it’s damn fun to play and explore every corner of the game. After six years since its release, I’m still eager to give Skyrim another go. It’s that great!
4. Fallout 4
Games With Character Customization Pc
Fallout 4 is one of those top offline games that you either like or dislike. It’s a great single-player experience, as you explore a huge world of fictional city Commonwealth. I mean, the story here is scattered here and there, and our protagonist is in search of his abducted son. However, the game often steers away from that and let you have some freedom and exploration. It’s a fantastic reboot of the series, and it’s surely the best game in the franchise. If you are up for that Stalker-ish feeling, then give this a try!
5. Hitman (2016)
Hitman isn’t a strictly offline game, but I included it because it has a great single-player campaign. While the previous entry in the series Hitman: Absolution relied more on linear, claustrophobic, and confined experience, Hitman (2016) went in a different direction. Here, you’ll experience a vast, open-world with lots of stuff to do. The levels are not that numerous, but they are as big as hell! You can complete your missions in various ways and earn certain rewards and points for doing so. Hitman is a challenging stealth experience, but once Agent 47crawls under your skin, there’s no going back!
Steam Games With Character Creation
6. Nioh
Nioh is a less-known offline game released this year, and I feel like this game is very underrated. It’s a child of Dark Souls and Bloodborne series, which can tell you much about this game. It has a single, crushing, and unforgiving difficulty that will leave you begging for mercy. It’s hard, and you’ll need some blazing fast reflexes and huge gaming skills to finish it. There are more than twenty bosses in the game, and every single boss will kick your ass! Don’t expect to finish this game in a few days; you’ll need weeks to finish it and it will be painfully slow as the bosses shame you every little time… you helpless gamer!
7. Nier: Automata
Another underrated game – Nier: Automata. How could the gaming community overlook this game? Are you blind, or what? This game offers thirty hours of a pure, refined, and amazing experience! It’s a hack-and-slash title that mergers several genres with it. The open world in this game is huge, and the post-apocalyptic environment looks depressing and feels like a void. Nier also introduces RPG elements so you can now level yourself up, upgrade weapons, buy stuff, etc. On top of that, there are some 2D sections that feel like a great platformer, and that’ very unique! Nier: Automata is better than most AAA titles and costs double the less of that price, which is one more reason to get it.
8. Dark Souls 3
Dark Souls series got a fantastic reboot with Dark Souls 3. Just if it wasn’t enough for the previous games in the series, and now we got this punishing game. What can I say? Prepare to die a LOT in this game, as it’s created to kill you. I’m not joking, the whole game is against you, and you can’t do anything about that except fight like a lunatic. Even when you die, the enemies around you respawn and you must fight again and again, which is really frustrating. However, if you have the balls to play it, and manage to finish it, then you deserve a medal, Sir!
9. Bioshock Infinite
Bioshock Infinite is the newest installment in the Bioshock series. This cheap game can give you a huge value for your buck, especially when the Holidays come. I mean, for just a couple of bucks, you can get a fantastic FPS game, which campaign isn’t short and definitely isn’t boring! Bioshock Infinite continues its tradition with great shooting mechanics, various powerups, and that fast-paced shooting in a beautiful environment of the game. Get ready to cause mayhem!
10. Alien: Isolation
Alien: Isolation is that PC offline game that will haunt your dreams every time you try to sleep. It’s a horror game in which you try to stay in one piece and escape that damn space station called Sevastopol. Sounds similar? Well, that’s because the game is based on Alien (1979) movie, which was a very disturbing experience at the time. It’s an intense game that makes your palms sweat and your heart beating so fast that you’ll think it’s gonna come out of your chest! Try this horror if you dare, and watch yourself getting swallowed by the Alien, in a single bite!
11. Far Cry Primal
Elephants are cool, but mammoths are so badass! In Far Cry Primal, you can hunt mammoths and even ride them when you get to higher levels! How cool are you from zero to riding a mammoth? This beautiful-looking game is set 10,000 years BC and no, you aren’t going to shoot guns, but bash the hell out of your enemies. The arsenal of weapons might not be that huge, but the combat is great and requires more thinking, as the enemies are sometimes overwhelming and can easily kill you. If you have the luck to tame a sabertooth tiger, you may survive in this harsh world!
12. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
There is something special about that claustrophobic feeling, especially when it comes to horror games that you can play without internet. That sense of dread and despair when you don’t have much space to move is priceless. Don’t think of me as a psycho, but I LOVE the horror genre! RE7: Biohazard is a game that caught my attention as soon as it was released. This bad boy will provide you with a horrific experience that will leave you scared to death! As the game plays from the first-person perspective, it’s much easier to get yourself immersed, but also scared.
13. Outlast 2
Outlast 2 is yet another offline horror experience, where the developers decided to leave your powerless. There aren’t weapons for you to use, and surely no means to defend yourself. So, what are you left with? Well, a camera and a journal should do the trick! The game does a damn fine job of melding the horror and the dread with stealth and great storytelling. In the end, you may feel a little let down by the ending, but I know you’ll enjoy it until the very end.
14. Dead Space 3
Tumblr media
Cat et 2015a factory password generator. While the past games in the series focused more on that horror experience, Dead Space 3 is more of an action-horror game. Sure, there are Necromorphs and they are vicious and all, but the action part is more prominent. Needless to say that Dead Space 3 is an amazing game and I’m very sad that Visceral Games is closed by EA in October. This survival horror game is hugely underrated, but it’s awesome and I recommend you to play it. It’s just a couple of bucks for this experience, don’t be a niggard!
15. Portal 2
There’s something awesome when it comes to Source Engine. The games made with this engine looks amazing, yet they run smoothly. How did Valve manage to do that? Well, as I am not a game developer, don’t ask me! But ask me about Portal 2, which is Valve’s magnum opus, and a compelling puzzle game. The whole point of the game is to use a Portal gun in order to create portals and pass through them. However, the game isn’t that simple and requires some brain skill to finish it. Grab your Portal Gun, and let’s go on a venture!
16. Limbo
This 2D game is straight-up terrifying, dark, and misanthropic from the start to finish! In Limbo, you are a little boy that needs to survive this colorless world of the game as he overcomes various obstacles and escape scary monsters. I like the game’s artwork and the atmosphere is simply top-notch here if you like the dark ambient in the games. It’s a must-play for every offline Indie games lover!
17. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat
Speaking of the atmosphere, very few great offline games can replicate the atmosphere as it is in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat. That post-apocalyptic atmosphere of Pripyat looks great, and the game isn’t colorful, which is the whole point. Everything has that grey-ish tint, as this town suffered greatly when the Nuclear Powerplant in that area exploded. It’s based on a real-life event that occurred around 1989, which gives the game a certain weight and meaning.
18. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
With MGSV: The Phantom Pain, Hideo Kojima proved that he still has what it takes to create such immersive PC games without internet. This stealth game is challenging and full of stuff to do, due to its open-world nature. The characters are badass and the game feels somewhat dark, with a very serious tone. Oh, and not to forget that plot twist at the end that’s worth those thirty hours I’ve spent on this game!
19. SOMA
Horror fans will be pleased that I mentioned another horror title here. SOMA is an absolutely spooky and nerve-wracking experience! It creates that atmosphere that’s very unique, and with the story being told in the shape of various documents scattered through the game, it’s even more badass! You are all alone here and you’ll fight for your life, only to find out that you aren’t actually alive! A truly wonderful offline game for Windows.
20. Superhot
Superhot is a cartoonish-looking offline game that revolves around time. To make it simple, the time in the game moves when you move, so if you are standing still, nothing will happen. Vice Versa, if you are moving and shooting, then the enemies will do the same. It’s a lot of fun, but a lot of challenges too. I played it with some of my favorite death metal albums, just to ensure that I’m hardcore enough to beat it!
Tumblr media
As we are approaching near the end of our journey through the offline PC games, I’m here to ask you a question. What is your favorite offline game for PC? I tried my best to count some of my favorite offline games, and although I’m maybe going to start a war for not including some of the games, I stand behind my words. Oh, and why don’t you tell me what game did I miss? Do you have any favorites besides these 20 games? Please, let me know, and don’t forget to do some gaming today!

I wanted to request the “OC dressed by other OC” things but you’ve got so many!!! And they’re all so cool!! Would you mind saying what some of your favourite ones’ styles are (i.e. mod, psychedelic, hippie, glam, etc.)?
Love your art❤️
oh I am always up to talk about my characters and thank you for sending this!! I appreciate these sorta things because it’s a nice message AND I get to talk about my characters which helps me actually figure them out lmao
and I know you’re asking for my favourites but that is subject to change and I want to talk about all of them. and I’m not entirely sure exactly what styles of dress they each come under but I’ll use the terms where I see fit, and I’ll just. ramble about their individual dress styles. that’s the same thing right!
this is gonna be long (spoiler alert: IT IS) so to keep things short for those who don’t want to scroll through a mile long post, I’ll put it under the cut
so I’m gonna start with the starstrucks because they ARE my like. main characters. I am planning something with them which is in its very early stages of development but I’m hoping that when things around me settle down I can work on it a bit better than what I have (but I procrastinate the things I WANT to do so we’ll see. feel free to nag me about it though)
roger claire: considering he’s like. the main-main character (not intended, that was meant to be snowy but HERE WE ARE) his outfits and style of dress changes a lot but also it’s not that creative for a lot of it. at the start he wears more mod clothing, but he’s not that daring since he is pretty cautious. he had a strict family. anyway around 1965 he starts getting a lot more daring and he’s definitely not an extravagant dresser he does know how to dress sharply despite that so you get things like his peacoat that I DEFINITELY didn’t copy directly from micky dolenz on the cover of more of the monkees, and that really heavily decorated overcoat that’s 18th-century inspired but also Groovy, y’know? that sorta thing carries over into the seventies where he pretty much wears shirts with the sleeves rolled up, light coloured trousers, and a few t-shirts because Variety™. haven’t really thought about beyond that but he’d probably dress like a cool dad
pete sutton: he’s got sensory issues so he’s even MORE cautious in dress style than roger. main thing is turtlenecks though. and a lot of purple. there’s a quote about ray davies being the kink most likely to wear a tie offstage and I think pete’s the starstrucks’ equivalent
snowy smith: he’s got the most defined wardrobe out of the lot of them! black-and-blue striped jumper, a black peacoat, blue jeans, blue-green shirts, his leather jacket (which has blue-violet stripes on it so it’s unique from the million other jackets I draw) since he’s definitely on the rocker side of things and cuban-heeled beatle boots he doesn’t need since he’s already 6′1
charlie morris: REALLY mod. at the start of the story he has a collarless jacket with pink trimmings. his colours are yellow and green but I also always end up drawing him in red
davey peacock: mod, but the mod that your parents approve of. does get a bit more adventurous when his uncle, the manager, gets fired, and I gave him a union jack jacket like pete townshend had at some point lol. he also gives hippie clothing a shot around 1968 and in the eighties he has a mullet and not a good one
rory locking: SO MUCH ORANGE. aviator sunglasses, collared shirts with the first two buttons undone, his kinda short jacket that’s plasticky leather with a fluffy lining (those style jackets have a particular name don’t they? I can’t remember it) but like. there’s so much orange. why did I do that my markers are dying
mick lily: light was denim. that’s about it.
next we have the midnight delusions
jimmy jade: scarves. he has a gold embroidered black suit that I’ve drawn a couple of times and ALWAYS regret it because OW, pink, and a lot of black
teddy van alst: he has a leather jacket. wears interesting trousers and really plain shirts typically. he’s the one with the cool glam makeup even though it’s 1966 and glam isn’t exactly a thing yet. he’s a rocker though
arthur floyd: has a leather jacket like his bf teddy! it has roses embroidered on it. he has a rose sorta aesthetic going on, along with the blue-and-gold star outfit that I drew him in a couple of times. he’s sort of a carnaby street mod if that’s a thing lol
lucky littleproud: gonna be real with you he’s boring he wears colourful shirts and trousers that’s about it. I haven’t worked on him much :(
peter morrison: between hippie and mod. definitely more on the hippie side compared to his sibling
stevie maple (counting him here even though he kinda isn’t a Member): textured shirts, he’s more of an american mod. considering he IS american (unfortunately)
all of those side characters I have absolutely no idea how to group but are part of the same story as those two bands:
sylvia chase: mod, but she also doesn’t put much effort into her appearance. that’s the best way to describe her style
holly keys: she’s a model so literally whatever is the ‘hottest’ trend
james cassidy-bell: he dresses like brian jones in the early-mid sixties
katherine robinson: mod, and then the most avant-garde things she can find if she’s going in public. and a lot of red lipstick (that’s her Thing)
morgan morrison: MOD but also like that sorta soft aesthetic thing that was popular in like. 2017. because why not am I right
christopher goldstein: he is also a model but I draw him in really dandy-ish stuff a lot. him and jimmy sorta have a prep/goth dynamic going on
and that’s about it for the characters who really are gonna appear often enough to bother describing their dress styles! moving on now
keith neptune: band tshirts and anything with patches on it.
nico (haven’t come up with his surname yet, if y’all have suggestions I’ll take it): baggy jeans, sneakers, baggy tshirts, and has a denim vest with patches on it but Different types of patches to keith. if keith has the sorta etsy partches nico has ‘I pickpocketed these from a bikey who hasn’t showered in a month from a servo in the middle of nowhere’ patches
grey: they have a brow leather jacket that I think was inspired by jim morrison, a stamp out the beatles jumper, and a really big and motheaten black woolen jumper which they wear with beatle-boots, a white collared shirt, and like. not black jeans but very desaturated blue jeans that happen to be very dark
jude anne sutton (yes I know she and pete have the same surname they’re not related they’re in different universes): mod. enough said
rene shannon: mod but boring. he’s Repressed y’know
leslie (I’m gonna change her surname lol): honestly mainly shift dresses and that one really simple black-and-white dress, and their ripoff black watch tartan jacket, and tall boots.
danny: honestly? he dresses like a mod but at heart he’s a rocker. he’s a rocker who washes
that One character I won’t name: it’s complicated. he goes from trying to be a teddy boy with the rest of his friends and then it goes a little wrong and they fight about it and then they discover early rocker culture and he sticks with that for a while and then starts dabbling in more mod stuff and then DEFINITELY his style changes into the dandy stuff of the middle of the sixties. you know the stuff I’m talking about. and then he’s a hippie for about two seconds and goes back to dandy stuff but throws a few of his old rocker pieces back in. THEN he has a breakdown and fucks off to america for three years (returning home like twice for two days before fucking off again) where he’s got a peacoat, his old leather jacket, a turtleneck, a few shirts, and two pairs of jeans. that’s it. for three years. and workboots obviously because he’s trainhopping. I have that part very worked out as you can tell!
harper (character I have sketched exactly Once but have his style very sorted out): he starts off pretending to be a teddy boy in the way that a fifteen-year-old with a highly overprotective and lowkey horrible mother would probably be. he is also kinda Broke for that exact reason. and then he and the above character get into more rocker stuff and that’s probably where the two drift apart and where rene/jude/leslie/whoever else I may come up with would come in
anyway!!! I think that’s every character I have a defined style for. some of it’s a little hard to explain but I hope this cleared things up. I have also had a migraine for most of today so my ability to use words is extra impaired lmao!
and I’m so sorry for just. rambling. but I do have a lot of characters and I love them all so much and I’m so happy you like them too!!!

Hi! I am rather new to modding Oblivion and I was wondering if there is any mods you would recommend for it? Or maybe just your mod list, if you are comfortable with sharing that? Your Oblivion characters always look so beautiful, especially Iriana. Anyway, I hope you having a wonderful day! :)
It’s ironic you ask Nonnie, considering I’m wrestling with Oblivion myself and failing atm XD
Still, I’m happy to drop some recommendations for mods I use and can usually get to cooperate with me ^-^
First off, you’ll want the Official Oblivion Patch, the Unofficial Oblivion Patch, the Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch, and the Unofficial Oblivion DLC Patches (if you have the GOTY edition). They fix a bunch of issues in the game, and some mods require them to be installed, so they’re a solid place to start.
The rest are under the cut because boy this got long o.o
Character Creation:
I cannot recommend Nuska’s Oblivion Character Overhaul enough. It’s an absolute must have for me as it deals with Oblivion’s potato faces beautifully. And, thanks to the hard work of other modders, it is possible to customise OCO further. I’ll list those in just a second. You’ll also need the Oblivion Script Extender and Blockhead to get it to work.
I also use the HGEC Female Body for my OCs - if you use that mod or any other body mods, there are some additional files provided by Nuska that make OCO compatible with them. They’re located in the optional files for OCO, and the description for those will tell you what order you need to install them in.
Now, my other OCO Mods that I recommend:
Orsimer Overhaul for OCOv2 - merges OCO and Orsimer Overhaul for a look I personally love for orc characters. It can be a little hit and miss with getting it to work on my end, so you’ll need to decide if you want to have a go at wrestling with it, but I personally think it’s worth a try
OCOv2 Martin and Adoring Fan Fix - I’m not a huge fan of OCO’s take on Martin, so I prefer this one even though it makes him look a bit too young imo
Unique Face Features for OCOv2 - Adds some warpaints, scars, freckles, and other kinds of face markings to the cc. iirc they’re tweaked with the age slider
Warpaint for OCOv2 - adds some more Skyrim warpaints
Seamless for OCOv2 - removes the very visible neckseam on characters. Whether or not I can get this one to work is usually hit and miss for me ^^”
New Brows for OCOv2 - exactly what it says on the tin ;)
New Eyes for OCOv2 - new eye texture replacements, along with some optional files to customise them a little
Better Necks for OCOv2 - adds some detailing to the neck and throat of the character model. Not a requirement ofc, I’m just a sucker for detail
OCOv2 Male Beard - adds some actual beards to the cc
Hairstyle mods can vary in quality, and some only come available as wigs. I only use a couple myself.
Sidenote, wigs tend to make your characters look like they have no ears so you’ll need a mod that adds equip-able ears - I’ll have one recommended further down.
ANiceOakTree’s Hairstyles for Oblivion is a mod that adds hairs as wigs. There’s a few styles in different colours, and it’s the one I use for Iriana. You create your character with whatever hair, it doesn’t matter, and then travel to either Vilverin, which is the Ayleid Ruin literally opposite the Sewer Exit after you finish the tutorial, or in the Cheydinhal Chapel near the doors.I usually tend to go to Vilverin, as it’s closer for me and the chest is literally down the stairs from the entrance, plus it counts as stealing from the chapel so I’d recommend the ruin if you’d rather not get in trouble for wanting nice hair.
Zinni_s Braided Redguard Expanded is good if you plan to play as a Redguard and would like a braided style. It’s added to the cc, so you don’t need to go looking for it ^^
Chakaru Wigs 2.0 is a bit trickier. You need to access the Testing Hall in order to find them, and I can’t remember exactly which room they’re in. They’re located in a chest directly opposite the door, however, so it narrows the search a little. If I get to the point where Oblivion is cooperating with me, I’ll add the location here.In order to access the Testing Hall, open the console and type ‘coc testing hall’ (if that doesn’t work try removing the space between testing and hall, I forget which is the correct way), and then in the centre of the main room, find the door labelled Hawkhaven, go through it, and fast travel to return to Cyrodiil.
I’ve not used the Cazy Hair Pack in some time now, but it’s still worth a mention. It adds some new hairs to the cc, so no looking around ruins and testing halls to find them ^^
Armour and Clothing
Ordinarily I would never download Apachii Goddess Store, but it is where I get Iriana’s ears. On the ground floor, there’s a container full of equip-able ears you can take free of charge, and iirc they match to your character’s skintone.
Belphe’s Travelling Gear (the female version) is another mod I wouldn’t usually use, but it looks surprisingly good on Iriana sooooo. There’s a few mods on this page you can try out if you’re interested, but I have no idea how to install the ones without esp files, so I can’t help you if you want any of those.
This is my favourite remodel of the Archmage Robes (I could do without the titty physics, but it’s very unnoticeable most of the time so it’s survivable). Because of the unfortunate physics aspect, it does require Coronerras Maxiumum Compatibility Skeleton, but otherwise it’s a brilliant remodel. However, the Archmage Robes present a problem with equip-able ears - as they take up an amulet slot and these robes don’t let amulets show, you will have missing ears with these robes. There’s another mod I use to fix this, which I’ll get to late.
Alternatively, there is a male replacer for the Archmage Robes that I like but (obviously) have never used if you’re making male characters
The Triss Armour Retexture is another great mod, and I personally like to use the Dark Brotherhood variant for my DBH characters as opposed to actual Shrouded Armour. They can be a pain to obtain as you need to fight your way through some bandits in Fort Cedrian, then locate the bag in the Mausoleum, but they are worth the trouble.
Assorted Protective Female Armours is another must imo as it fixes the ridiculous boobplates and some textures for some of the game’s heavy armours.
If you used the HGEC Body for female characters, then you’ll want to grab the Vanilla Amulets Fix for HGEC as it’ll fix how amulets fit on that body.
Spike4072s Female Sheogorath Regalia is a great mod if you’d rather keep the iconic Sheogorath look on a female character rather than have it swapped out for a dress.
Shrouded Armour Cowl is another great mod for DBH characters; I use it with the Dark Brotherhood Triss Armour, seeing as the hood doesn’t really mix with it.
Sinblood_SonjaArmourTweaked is another good female armour mod; it looks good, and is reasonably functionable.
Other Mods
Oblivion Reloaded is a fantastic mod; primarily it’s a graphics extender mod, and it really does make the world of Oblivion look amazing.
Alternative Start is a great mod, and it functions very much like its Skyrim counterpart. If you want to do the Main Quest but start elsewhere, after a certain number of days pass you’ll receive a message to meet someone in a set period of time at the Temple of the One. That will put you in the tutorial and set up the Main Quest. Word of warning, miss that meeting and I don’t think it’s possible to do the Main Quest at all so just be careful.
Oblivion XP is an absolute must if you struggle with Oblivion’s levelling system like I do. XP is awarded for defeating foes, discovering locations, completing quests, stealing things, etc. It’s installed with Oblivion Mod Manager, so make sure you grab that.
Kvatch Rebuilt is a pretty damn good mod which offers a questline to rebuild the city of Kvatch and give it a ruler. That ruler can even be the player, depending on some choices you make. The voice acting isn’t stellar, but it’s worth it to see Kvatch restored. It requires the Engine Bugs Fixes so make sure to grab that. Also, make sure you pick up Compatibility Patches for OCO to avoid too many weird faces around Kvatch and other places.
Reneers Guard Overhaul is also a pretty useful mod if the ever-charming behaviour of the Oblivion Guards gets a bit wearing. They’ll no longer chase you to the ends of Tamriel, and a crime committed in Cheydinhal won’t get you attacked in Leyawiin (kinda like how Skyrim manages crime).
No Anachronistic Main Quest Comments is good for immersion; you won’t have people saying how a city might not go the way of Kvatch after the Oblivion Crisis is over.
Now, the amulet issue with the Archmage Robes. I fixed that with the Summonable Private Quarters, which provides a station where you can mess with slots for armour/clothing sets. There’s lots of use for this mod besides just making your amulets and ears visible, but this is what I primarily use it for.To make it work you need the Core files of Cobl, so manually download that and move the core folder into Oblivion’s Data folder.
I also use a couple of animation mods, namely Staff Animation which changes the PC’s idles and the way they move when holding a staff so it looks less awkward.
There’s also the Heroic Female Idle Replacer which is less stiff than the vanilla female idle. Otherwise I recommend searching through the Oblivion Nexus’ animation tag and finding any mods that suit you and your characters best.
Project Oblivion Gate Destruction Spell is useful if you get tired of diving into gates over and over again when you just want to get on with the game. Just cast the spell and poof, no more gate and you still get the Sigil Stone. It’s good for when you’ve already played the game over a few times.
The Elder Scrolls Online Imports is a must have if you love ESO like I do. It adds some bits of lore, creatures, and locations from ESO.
Better Cities makes the cities of Cyrodiil more varied and interesting, though it might be a bit troublesome at times. I’ve had the occasional problem with this mod, purely based on load order so just keep that in mind. Otherwise it’s a gorgeous mod with a lot of effort and creativity put into it.
Vanilla Staff Replacer isn’t necessary if you’re not playing a mage, but I really enjoy it personally ^^
I’m going to add Black Horse Colour Overhaul because it honestly bugs me that the black horses in Oblivion aren’t black
Companion Vilja is a mod I haven’t actually used yet, but I’ve got installed for this playthrough because I’ve been meaning to play it forever. Apparently Terry Pratchett himself contributed to this mod, so that should speak for its quality.
I hope this was helpful to you Nonnie, and good luck with modding Oblivion ^^

As you can see by my username, I am intending to make this blog essentially a database of mod requests for mod authors (such as myself) to refer to when they need inspiration. I’m thinking of doing a masterlist in this post, but I will also create a separate post for each of the categories, once I have an idea for the a mod that I think fits within that category. To find these categories, seach the name of the category followed by “skyrimmodfanatic”. Also, if you see a mod request that you know how to do with the creation kit, please do feel free to send me a message with instructions. Also, if you are an experienced mod creator that thinks one of these suggestions would be impossible to accomplish, please feel free to leave me a message as well. So without further ado, here’s the master list I have so far:
Alchemy
A poison that makes the victim fall asleep for a predetermined amount of time
Animation
Armour
Armour - Shields
Audio - Music
Audio - SFX
Audio - Voice
Body Face and Hair
Books and Scrolls
Add more kids books to the game
Bug Fixes • Something to make the weird facial textures that NPCs sometimes get go away • A mod to make the bodies of dead dragons disappear like they’re supposed to (around Riverwood, I keep getting attacks from Ancient Dragons, but once I kill them, they just land and fall down dead. Their skin doesn’t decompose, even when I leave the city and come back, though I do absorb the dragon’s soul and can loot the dragon, and weirdly enough I can walk through them too, without any kind of special spell or mod. It could have to do with the fact that I’ve been using cheat spells from the mod Cheat Room to kill these dragons). I also think this is weird because at this point in the game I have already killed off Alduin, and doesn’t it say in the song “Age of the Dragon” that the dragons are gone....?
Buildings • Create a store with a merchant that sells basically everything in the game, except for quest items (the kind that don’t remove from your inventory except to fulfill quest objectives) • A daycare to drop children off at for pre-determined amounts of time
Castles, Palaces, Mansions, and Estates
Character Presets
Cheats and God items
Cities, Towns, Villages, and Hamlets
Clothing
Edit the textures of the vanilla clothing to make them not look so dirty
Collectables, Treasure Hunts, and Puzzles
Combat
Crafting
Creatures
Dungeons - New
Dungeons - Vanilla
Environmental
Followers & Companions
The ability to ask followers to put specific items (such as bowls, pots, etc) onto a designated place such as a shelf or a bookcase
Followers & Companions - Creatures
Forts, Ruins, and Abandoned Structures
Gameplay Effects and Changes
Guilds/Factions
Immersion
Items and Objects - Player
Items and Objects - World
Landscape Changes
Locations - New
Locations - Vanilla
Magic - Gameplay
Create a way for the player to manipulate and move objects in a way that won’t make items flip in mid air like it does when you move items too fast using the vanilla method. Basically, I want to be able to move and arrange lightweight objects as easily as I do IRL.
Magic - Spells & Enchantments
A spell that can be applied to the land surrounding a house to prevent enemies from being able to attack anyone within the spells circle
Mercantiles (shops stores inns taverns etc)
A store that sells all the items in the game, except for the quest items that can’t be removed from inventory except to fulfill a quest objective
Miscellaneous
Modders Resources and Tutorials
A mod resource that changes the look of walls to get rid of the dirty, worn look of them.
Expand the generic kit. I love the look of the stones, but there aren’t that many pieces to work with.
Models and Textures
Mounts
New Lands
NPC
The ability to hire an NPC to babysit the player’s children
the ability to hire an NPC as a maid that will pick up objects that fall from their designated places, such as dishes, books, etc.
NPC - Children
Change the chore feature to include picking up stuff on the floor that got knocked over, such as dishes, books, etc).

Minecraft could have such a cool lore and game mechanics
So I played minecraft since I was like 13 or something, when the thing was still in early beta. I still play it, but after half an hour tops I just lose interest and quit. The game isn’t challenging, the world seems empty and npc and animals like wind up toys than anything else. I know minecraft is a canvas you have to paint on, but I was always more into the idea of Minecraft as a world you have to tame and grow into. There are mods that do that, like rlcraft (which im not gonna play cause the lycanite mobs don’t fit into the games art style and ice and fire mobs are straight up unfair). And you know, since I have a script, dissertation, stop motion animation to do this semester for my Filmmaking Uni, I’ve been thinking about minecraft a lot. Procrastination, am I right my dudes?
I have no idea how to make mods, I can barely use Java to install Optifine for crying out loud, but I can write a couple hundred words post on this hellsite that no ones gonna read, cause it’s literally my first post, and no one can stop me! Also maybe somebody’s gonna get inspired and make it. No need to credit me, just let me play it XD
The World and Lore, I guess
So, let’s get one thing straight... Is the Minecraft world post apo? Like let’s be real for a second. The player is the only human specimen in the entire world. There are villigers that are vaguely humanoid, but they are definately “The other” some ofshoot of the human race than actual human beings. Zombies and skeletons seem to share the player’s anatomy but they’re undead, therefore dead, therefore had to be alive at some point. So yeah, let’s work with that!
Let’s say that in a distant future, like distant enough for new subspecies of homo sapiens had time to evolve with enough pressure. The human world died after they opened the portal to the End. This allowed magic to seap into the world, boosting the technology but also corrupting people it cam across with. Like why is the Ender Dragon dropping more exp than your PC is able to handle? Cause she’s the source of all magic! Why do monsters drop it? Cause it’s what reanimated/mutated them. So according to this, fucking with the eldritch magic balls is what created the zombie virus, destroying the human race. Also the End is the moon. Like not our moon. Opening the portal didn’t just link the worlds together, it straight up teleported the End into the earth orbit, destroying the native moon and replacing it. And that’s why the monster’s only come up night, cause that’s when the End holds the most influence over the overworld.
But what about the villigers? Just descendents of humans who have survived the apocalypse. Some adopted peaceful agrocultural approach to survive, sharing and caring and being lovely anarchocommunist communities. The other ones living according to the “Survival of the Fittest” evolving into the illigers. But that’s only the two races that are already in the game. Since it’s supposed to be a mod adding shit, lets get some new races! The dwarves have been talked about by the developers so let’s add them. Shorter and stockier than humans, with glowing eyes and not so much beards as just thick fur on their bodies. The underground is cold after all. Also descended from humans, this time those that had enough brains to burrow themselves underground. They just chill in caves, building something like big ant colonies. You could trade with them just like villigers, although instead of emeralds they’d want silver (We need like shitload of new ores, my good people). Oh, and they wouldn’t be pacifist like villigers, if you piss them off, they will mine you to pieces. You could also find them in random caves mining their own business (XD) and by business i mean resources you could mine yourself. And so if you’re a bellend, you could straight up murder them and grab their stuff and have your ores left unmolested. Or you could pay them off to share the loot, giving you a temporary partner with basically x ray vision, leading you to more ores, than you’d find yourself. But at the end of the day, you’d be obligated to split what you found 50/50, meaning that you could get more stuff than on your own, or less, depending on your in real life luck. Boom, reasons for morals.
I’d like to see a basic faction system, based on which aspect of the game the player finds most appealing. If you’re the kind of a peaceful player who just wants to build and farm, the villigers are your people. They’d gladly take you in if you build, farm and trade for them. If you’re into conquest and looting Pilligers could use your skill to cut some Villigers throats. And if you want mining and exploration, The dwarves wll take you in. Ofcourse you can just be your own person and solo the entire thing, and no one will nag you.
Character Customination and Skills
I want roleplay, man. Skins are cool but what if on one save I’m the peaceful farmer, developing my village and chilling with my bros, but on other I’m the fucking antichrist, burning them to the ground and taking what I want? Do I just swap my skins depending on what world i’m gonna play today? I quess I could, but that’d be hardly graceful. So let’s just put proper character creation into the game, with ethnicity, hair models and all that other bling. Ideally you’d also be able to paint on your characters if you want scars or tatoos or just dont want to look human. Clothing on the other hand would be a seperate system linked to the survival system. But more about the clothing system later.
Also since Minecraft is getting slack for becoming more of an RPG when it got its full release, lets embrace that. I’d split them to Gathering, Combat and Crafting skills.Gathering would include your tool proficiency, allowing you to skip enchanting altogether while still getting some upgrade for your tools. Also chances for more resource drops or just getting new utilities from the tools. Any movement releated skills should also be there for simplicity sake. Combat is self explanatory, if we add different weapons types, than there has to be some incentive for specialization. Some skills for combat overall wouldn’t go unwelcome. Dodging, parry without a shield, throwing various weapons and stuff like that. Crafting would be for the new weapon customization, enchanting (including proper spell casting wands) and alchemy. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves with that.
Custom Tools, Weapons and Armor
Doesn’t it bug you that on multiplayer server everyone just walks around in enchanted diamond eq, throwing all sense of individuality out of the window. Do you like the idea of roleplaying as a cave men the entire game, but the stone sword doesn’t really give you that opportunity? Well let’s do something about it. Instead of vertical tool and weapon progression let’s do it horizontally. Lets take a bit more realistic approach to crafting. Stone tools have to knapped and assembled, bronze has to be casted, iron hammered into shape and wood carved. All types of materials have their drawbacks. Knapping tools would just need you to pick a stone in your offhand and the crafting material of your choice in your main and right click. And from there you get the list of shapes you can knap your stone into. And after choosing the tool/weapon type of your liking you knap it again to customize the shape more. Do you want your hatchet to look like a primitive piece of sharp rock or a skillfully crafted tomahawk? Casts for soft metals and wooden objects would be made in the same way, just with a carwing knife instead of stone and wax or wood for the crafting material. Than just put your cast into clay to get a mold. Fire the mold, craft a crucible and pour the molten metal into the mold. Change the anvil from an enchanting tool into a proper workbench for your hard metals. Then craft some handles, guards or accesories and put them all together in your crafting window. Different materials would have different pros and cons. Stone tools have low durability but don’t have any wear mechanic. Wood rots, Soft metals can bend and have to be straightened and hard metals rust and have to be cleaned. Also no tool progression. What you can mine depends on your mining level. Right now you can easily get diamond on yout first day if you mine deep enough. Locking it over a skill tree would pace the games more high tier materials more naturally. Also diamonds are classed as knapped material. No diamond swords for you, but a diamond macuhuitl is totally cool. Just craft a wooden sword of your choice and add some diamond blades in the crafting.
Armor would be split into classes, Light, Medium and Plate. You can’t make armor out of stone (so no diamond armor either, but you could encrust your other armor with it) but you can make wooden plate. Just for the heck of it. Different armor classes would affect your stamina meter differently.
Guns!!!
I’m not a gun nut, but hey we have gunpowder in the game. Let’s add guns. But just the flintlock ones, atleast the ones made by the player. They could be made out of anything even stone, just for the heck of it. They would be crafted like any other weapon. But shooting them would be expensive with all the gunpowder you’d have to loot from creepers (I like the idea of dead creepers burning away, giving you only a short window to loot them) or craft from sulfur, a new rare resource. Still they’d pack quite a punch and make hella noise, bringing all the monsters to you. Also long reload time, they’re flintlock after all.
Also lets adhere to an old fantasy trope and make them unenchantable. Their op as they are.
Animals and Looting
Just add more animals. Add more predators, so the day isn’t just a cake walk. Add predators hunting. Pray running from a player simply approaching. Give me a run for my food. Animals reproducing on their own. If you want to tame livestock or pets than you better hope for a rare domesticated kind of animals or trap and break them enough for them to let them eat from your hand.
And what about hunting. If you manage to kill an animal, it doesn’t just disappear and live porkshops in the cloud of smoke. Every killed entity just turns into a corpse that you have to manually loot, while holding a sharp weapon (for simplicity sake). All of them drop their hide (acting kinda like armor with its own durability, on which depends how much letter you’ll get from it, thus encouraging clean one hit kills), a lot more meat (so you don’t have to slaughter an entire herd just to have something to eat) and bones. Also food would spoil now, to discourage hoarding it. But there would be workarounds like salting it or drying it for jerky.
Various animal hides could act as trophies (if you’re a cunt) or for crafting special clothing items or beds (since proper wool would be much harder to come by now).
Monsters and the Night
Same deal as in the main game. Mostly undead with some mutated mobs like creepers and phantoms. The only hostile mob I’d add would be Vampires, who would follow the player and try to score a hit while you’re unaware. Of course they’d be rather rare. Enderman on the other hand... Let’s raise them to the mini boss standard. When they were announced I was hyped, that they’ll be a proper horror mob that you could be genuinely terryfied of. But no, they just vibin’ most of the time. So let’s change them. Since in the new lore the undead are humans corrupted by magic, enderman should be the remnents of the humans who have gone and got trapped in the End, turned into the Dragons army. And now their job is to stalk you and kill you. You still have to look at them for them to turn hostile, but now they don’t care if you only looked at them from the distance. If they can see you and you can see them, they attack. Give them proper range. Let them teleport behind you to score a hit. Put blocks in your way if you try to run. They could pick you up and teleport with you next to ledges (they shouldn’t just be able to throw you over the edge, let’s give players a fighting chance). They should also steal more valuable blocks than just dirt. Let them target specifically blocks placed by the player, allowing them to pick holes in your defenses for other mobs to get to your house.
The night itself would change. For the first couple nights there should be no monsters. The rise of the undead according to the new lore is the Dragon learning about the new human in the world trying to slow them down from discovering the End portal. But for the first few nights it would be unaware of your existance, letting you to get comfortable. But when the first full moon hits, The dragon saw you and she will let you know she sees. And from then on, every night the undead horde will rise to haunt you, only resting during the eclipse (since the dragon can’t see). On the other hand the full moon would be equivalent to the blood moon from terraria.  With mobs more aggressive, able to break your doors and forcing you to defend yourself. Also you wouldn’t be able to sleep during the full moon. If you manage to fall asleep, you wake up dead with mobs spawned all over your house. Also the mobs don’t burn in the sunlight. When the night ends, they just disapear like Enderman.
The mobs right now spawn only on active chunks, but let’s add a lore reason for it. They’re targeting you. This is why going to a village means bringing the horde to them. And if you don’t fight or they kill to many, the viligers will add two and twoo together, banishing you from their dwelling. The illigers will just turn hostile. The dwarves won’t mind since the undead are plentiful underground anyway.
Also give me my Overworld Dragons. Like proper fire breathing ones. Kinda like the ones from Ice and Fire but actually managable and not the size of goddamn school.
Survival Mechanics
Let’s add thirst. You can’t just drink any water ofcourse, so while food means you have to scavenge or hunt, thirst encourages you to either find drinkable streams or distill the water. Eventually just drink juices or booze. Yeah, let’s add booze. Just for fun, with all the stuff i’d want to add the game wouldn’t be kid friendly anyway.
You have to sleep now. Unslept nights cut your stamina meter by 25% while also bringing the phantoms to you. You can sleep without a bed, but you’re risking temperature debuffs and less stamina regen.
Temperature. With adding seasons and all the clothing option it seems reasonable (also i loved it in don’t starve). To not make the HUD to cluttered I’d just display the temperature on your heart meter, having them freeze over for cold and dry out for hot. Dried and frozen hearts wouldn’t be included in your hp pool, meaning that temperature makes you weaker. You could fight the temperature with proper clothing, fire or ice. Although the hot temperatures would be more forgiving, just making you lose water faster and being managable with shadow from blocks.
Clothes would have their own slots, be made in their crafting table and heavily customizable like banners and letter armor, giving proper use for all the dyes we have. They could also be drawn on like player skins. You could also wear some of them on armor, allowing for further character customization. They’d have their own durability, but be easily repairable. Aside from temperature protection they would be mostly cosmetic and if you don’t like the idea of having to wear a coat in the winter, just enchant your shorts with some frost protection.
Hunger would be overhauled slightly, letting you to get fat from food. But just like in real life FAT IS YOUR FRIEND (just you now, moderate amounts). It let’s you absorb all foods value even with a full bar. Still to much of it will slow you down and make your stamina bar go down faster. Oh and it’s no longer your stamina bar, that’s a seperate thing now, indicated by a small lighting bolt icon above your exp level. Still a full food and water bar is nessecary for healing.
Enchanting
Bookshelves no longer make the enchantments stronger. Atleast not the decorative ones. Instead you have to enchant books on your own hoping for the “Arcane Knowladge” enchantment, which can’t be put on anything but, if you put a book with it in the bookshelf it will raise the enchantment cap. So does leveling your enchanting skill, as well as allowing you to see what enchant you’re putting on your stuff, as you grow more fluent in the language of magic. Enchanting would also be more powerfull in the night, as that’s when the End - The birthplace of magic is the strongest. This also means that enchanting during the full moon would create the most powerful enchantments, if you can manage to enchant while the undead hordes attack. And they will try to get to you as an active enchanting table is drawing them closer.
Different materials have different enchantibility. Pracious metals are overall more conductive, while obsydian might make fire enchantments stronger. This would come into play mostly when crafting staffs!
While Guns are unenchantable, Staffs are just weak pole weapons without magic. But enchanting them let’s you pick a spell for them, like lightinig bolt, healing, stuff like that. One staff can hold only one enchantment and casting spells uses exp points meaning that you’d need quite a big pool to be able to just be a mage. While staffs are two-handed you can also make wands to cast with your offhand. Ofcourse they’d be less powerful to balance things out.
As the Anvil is now a crafting station, the Arcane Anvil would take it’s place made from obsidian and golden bars. While we’re at it lets also think about Arcane Chests to store your exp.
Player Death
Why can the player just live after death? Well depends on difficulty. If you want to lose your stuff but keep the skills, it’s because the last humans put a spell on you allowing you to be uneffected by the corruption and also be linked into the world, cursing you to wake up from dying in the last place you slept, making you think if your death was just a dream. If you want a more hardcore experience then it’s because they cast a spell of reincarnation on you, so you don’t come back as the exact same person, having to work upon the achievements of your predessecors (I have no idea how to write that, I’m polish okay?). And if you just want straight up hardcore, they sent you to the future, with only one chance to make things right. Applies to the multiplayer, there’s just more of you that have been cursed.
If you find your dead body you can loot it. But on the reincarnation difficulty all the food, potions, weapons and armor you had will have long rot away. A lot time passed afterall.
The Stronghold and the End
So if you actually read so far, I love you and congratulations. I’m writing this while I’m high, so it probably doesn’t make much sense. Still, thanks!
So... Strongholds suck. Let’s get rid of them. Instead let’s put the End Portal in a new rare biome. The Ruins! They would be a large decimated city from before the apocalypse, now overtaken by vegetation with undead present even in the daylight. The magic is right in the heart of the city after all. The undead are much more powerfull here, some even having modern weaponry like assult rifles. They can be looted, but they’re all falling apart and you can’t craft them. But you could repair them and use them. They’d be end game unenchantable gear. Enderman also stalk the city, so you’d have to be prepered for them. You still find the city with the eyes of ender, but this time crafted with a compas and obsidian to create the Ender Compass, cause fuck throwing balls into the air. The End Portal is in the heart of the city in the special dungeon called the Crumbling Facility. It’d be a long parkour challange with you having to reach the top while also fighting for your life. “But Pchlarz”, I hear you saying, “You could just build across or up, this is Minecraft”. Well no, cause the building would be made from gravity affected blocks, meaning that if you do, the whole thing falls apart. As for building up, try to do that while being shot from every direction. What if the tower falls? Well, the End Portal awakes spawning more monsters and moving to the height limit. So now you would have to build straight up, while the Enderman teleport to your position and try to throw you off. But if you get there, the Portal is your to enter.
And so you do. Before you stands a temple build in the center of the New Moon. The towers are still there and the Dragon still heals from them. The temple is built from blocks the Enderman took from you (not just them ofc) You destroy the crystal and fight the dragon. It picks you up, throws you around, breathes Black fire (purple is ugly, sorry guys). You chip at its health and finally you bring it to half. And thats when the dragon falls into the temple with broken wings. Now it’s a ground battle. Now you have cover, but the temple is destructable. It’s blocks affected by gravity. Finally you kill the dragon. It imbues you with its magic and drops it’s heart. Still beating, Scarlett and glowing. The Enderman stand around you, their eyes no longer white (yeah i dont like purple), but now inteligent with pupils. They seem thankful. You’ve won. The end stone around you starts crumbling, falling into the void. And there’s no way back home. You start to accept your fate. You’ve sacraficed yourself to end the Undead horde’s reign. And thats when an Enderman takes you by the hand. You walk to the edge of the crumbling world and gaze into the blue globe staring at you from the abyss. It’s the Earth. But you wouldn’t survive the impact. Not from space. That’s when you see the Enderman holding something, with his hand stretched out to you. He’s holding a pair of wings. The Elytra. You put them on, say goodbyes to the newly freed Enderman and dive into the world beneath you, watching as the tall figures behind you die with their dying world.
You crush into the earth. With half a heart you drag yourself to safety. The Ender compass now points the way to your bed. You walk. Victorious.
Endgame
So you’ve beat the game. What’s now? Well the Enderman are no longer hostile. And the dragon heart? You can put it into your alchemy station and turn it into the potion of resurection. While the zombie villigers could be cured with a golden apple and the potion of weakness, the human zombies need this one. The skeletons are to far gone, but zombies and vampires can be turned back. The Dragons Heart can never be used, but if you lose it, well it sucks to be you hero.
With cured humans you can create a village and start rebuilding. You can have relationships with them, turn them into companions and even have children with them (i like stardew valley okay). And with their numbers growing it’s up to you if you will live in peace with new races populating the world or reestablish the human reign on earth.
Okay this took me like three hours and the weed is wearing off. I think way to much about minecraft, maaan. Still hope you like it. And make this mod for me. I’d be grateful.

The Sims 4 Experiences Challenge
Tumblr media
Are you sick of doing the same old thing every time you play the Sims? Do you find yourself falling into the same routine every time you play and inevitably getting bored of the gameplay? Are there expansion/game packs that you've bought, but never really played much because you struggled figuring out how to incorporate it into your gameplay? Or maybe, you're like me, and just get super overwhelmed with all the options for things to do in the Sims, so you just end up doing what's familiar and comfortable?
Say hello to the Sims 4 Experiences Challenge! I created this challenge specifically to get the most use out of every expansion/game pack in the Sims 4 (to date). I’ll keep adding on to it whenever a new one comes out. This Legacy-type challenge will focus on one major expansion, or several small ones, each generation and require your Sims to complete a variety of requirements to live out their lives very differently from their predecessors. The goal is that it will help you get out of your comfort zone and to experience the most out of your gameplay and what the Sims 4 has to offer. So, without further ado…
Rules:
Try to avoid using any cheats/mods that grant money or items, cheat, etc. That being said, I can’t tell you how to play your game, so do what you want :)
Lifespan should be set to Normal, with Aging turned on. MCCC is recommended for story progression.
If you don't own an expansion, skip that generation. Otherwise, play through the generations in whatever order you want. The order here is just a guideline.
For every generation, you must complete the Aspiration and reach the top of the Career track, unless otherwise stated.
Each generation must have at least one child to be the heir for the next gen. You can choose any of your Sim's children as the heir. The other children kinda sorta don't matter (except in the Parenthood generation). Do whatever you want with them. Same goes with spouses.
Like the infamous Not So Berry Challenge (which loosely inspired me to make this challenge), your Sims should fit a certain color theme for each generation, and also a specific clothing style. It's not 100% necessary, obviously, but it’ll will encourage you to try out things in CAS you might not have used before. And trying new things what this challenge is all about! :)
If you play this challenge and want to share it, tag it with #sims4exp so others can see!
Generation One : Base Game : Yellow
You couldn't wait to move out and get as far away from your podunk little hometown as soon as possible. Right when you turned 18, you worked up the nerve and finally did it, packing your things and taking the first step toward independence and fulfilling your dream of becoming a rock star! Unfortunately, you definitely burned some bridges along the way, and now...  your family won't even speak to you. At least you worked your butt off and managed to save up a nice chunk of change to make the move possible, but after buying your first bit of property… there's not much left. Now you’re in a new, unfamiliar world with no money, no family, no friends, and no idea what to do next. Can you make it on your own and build yourself up from nothing, or will you get desperate and turn to a life of crime to make ends meet?

Generation Three : Cats & Dogs : Pink
Your childhood was pretty lonely. Your parents were always working and never really made time for you. Sure, you lived pretty comfortably in a nice home with lots of things, but it would’ve been nice to have been a priority in their lives. Your one saving grace was that your parents got you a pet, as if they were aware of how lonely you were but couldn’t be bothered to handle it themselves. You clung to that pet with your life and it became your best friend as you grew up. Before long, you learned to love animals more than you loved people. People were complicated, but pets? Pets were simple. Dogs and cats love unconditionally—they would give you love and attention no matter what. You fill your home with pets so that you’re always in the company of their doting furry faces. You dedicate your life to pets and decide to start up a Veterinary Clinic from scratch. You just know you’ll be able to make it the best clinic around. How hard could it possibly be?
Aspiration: Friend of the Animals Career: Veterinarian - start a new Vet Clinic Traits: Cat/Dog Lover, Loner, Good Appearance: Cutesy. Your parents were obsessed with their pets & vet clinic and seemed to care more about the animals than you. You excelled at sports growing up, but your parents never came to any of your games because they were always busy with the animals. As a result, you never developed a good relationship with them and have been resentful of them your entire life. You vowed to never repeat your parents' mistakes and do right by your family when the time came. At first, you dreamed of becoming a professional athlete when you grew up, but then quickly realized your real goal in life once you hit maturity. You’re absolutely obsessed with finding your soulmate, settling down, and raising a herd of children, while maintaining top physical shape in the process. It goes without saying that your children will be the best, most amazing, model children in the neighborhood. You’re sure that if you spend extra time with your kids and give them all the attention and support they need, that they'll grow up into super successful special snowflakes that become honor roll students with well-developed personalities and a great relationship with their family. Will your hyper-involved parenting and the pressure you put on their children be enough to give you the family you’ve always wanted?
Aspiration: Super Parent Career: Athlete (Professional Athlete Branch), until first child is born Traits: Family Oriented, Neat, Active Appearance: Soccer Mom/Dad. With a family this huge to take care of, clothing is more a matter of function than style, at this point.

Generation Five : City Living : Red
You had a huge family growing up, with overbearing parents, a bunch of annoying siblings, and virtually no privacy. Life was a constant state of arguing, smothering, and claustrophobia. All you want is to have your own life, be known for who you are and not who your family is, and have your own space. What better way to do that than to move out to the big city and chase fame and glory? You’ve always been a huge social butterfly and your constant need for attention made you the perfect candidate for Simstagram stardom! It's the perfect outlet for you as you embody city life, try new things, and maybe even meet someone special (or several someones)! Your parents led quite the chaotic, wild life, but the hustle and bustle of city life was never really for you. You didn't really get a chance to make a lot of friends your own age growing up, since life sort of revolved around your crazy parent and all their social-media-conquering escapades. All you want is a peaceful life away from the chaos of the inner city and more time outdoors, enjoying the beauty of nature. Having some hobbies wouldn't hurt either... and friends... real friends would be nice. You seek the company and approval of others, so you join a career that revolves around entertainment. To fill the void in your life, you want to run a club full of like-minded individuals so that you can have a second family away from home. You want to meet and hang out with people who have the same interests you do—maybe do a little hiking, take some camping trips, explore the beauty of nature. Will your new alternative lifestyle be able to fill the void in your life?
Aspiration: Outdoor Enthusiast Career: Entertainer (Comedian branch) Traits: Outgoing, Erratic, Insider Appearance: Hippie. You care more about nature than what other people think of your wardrobe. As long as it’s comfortable and groovy, who cares? It’s not like the trees are going to judge you.

No one believed that you’d met a Vampire, chalking it up to an overactive imagination, but you were always sure of it. You did as much research on them as possible, hoping to be able to run into a Vampire again someday. Finally, you decide to move to Forgotten Hollow, the haunted neighborhood known for strange, almost occult, occurrences, in the hope of finding what you’re looking for there. Eventually, your wish is granted and you have another encounter with a Vampire. Does it turn out to be everything you’ve ever dreamed of or does it turn into the stuff nightmares are made of?
Aspiration: Master Vampire Career: Writer (Author Branch) Traits: Bookworm, Evil, Self-Assured Appearance: Cliché Vampire. Just because you can’t see yourself in the mirror, doesn’t mean everyone else can’t. You basically invented goth. You’re born from the darkness and revel in black so you can stay in the shadows. Okay, well not really, but it was always hard to find real food to eat at home when your parents technically didn’t have to eat. Because good food was such a rarity in your household, you became obsessed with it. You developed a deep love and appreciation for human food. Whenever you went out to eat with your friends, you treated the meal like an adventure. Food quickly became your passion and you modeled your life after the pursuit of the perfect meal. You dream of becoming a renowned chef, but even more than that, you want to own your own restaurant someday. Once you’re the proud owner of a five-star restaurant… you’ll know you’ve made it.

You want to get outside of the bubble of your comfortable hometown and find adventure and diversity. Then, when you’re worn out, you want to be able to come home, relax, and unwind at the local spa. Your parents used to leave you with the babysitter and go to the spa by themselves on “me days” so, naturally, you want to see what all the fuss was about. Of course, it’s even more amazing than you could’ve expected and it becomes your homecoming routine. Yoga becomes a surprising personal favorite and your go-to form of exercise and detox. When you’re home, you make a name for yourself by writing books about your travels and painting epic portrayals of your adventures. Antidotes aren’t cheap! With all that traveling, adventures, yoga, spa days, and creative outlets, who could ask for more?

You watched the fantastical stories unfold on the telly and couldn’t help but yearn for a life of adventure like the heroes in your favorite series. Or, perhaps, it’d be even more thrilling to lead a daring life of crime, constantly on the lam, and barely avoiding discovery right under the nose of the authorities! Whatever the story may be, you’ve always dreamed of making your grand debut on the silver screen, and now’s your chance! So when you heard about strange happenings going in on in a small town nearby, you couldn’t help but to head out there and check it out. You’re not sure what you were expecting when you got there, but it definitely wasn’t what you found... Have you bitten off more than you can chew?
Aspiration: StrangerVille Mystery Career: Military Traits: Paranoid, Active, Genius Appearance: Conspiracy Theorist. Aliens are real! You just know it! There’s something fishy going on here and you’re not about to get caught up in it. You don’t go anywhere without your tin foil hat, listening devices, and fancy gadgets. I worked super hard on this and I’m excited to share it with you! I hope y’all enjoy the challenge and get some good stories out of it :) Happy Simming! @duchesty

Note
My story is going to place in prehistoric times and I cannot find any information on the existence or status of plus sized people that I believe is neutral and not fat-shaming. Most sources say there weren't any, since better diet and a lot more exercise, but I doubt that, to be honest. Should I just say screw it and add plus sized characters anyway or would you suggest finding scientific sources first?
Mod Miri Note: Hi folks, there’s a lot of talk in this post about body size which I can be triggering for some readers, and with tumblr’s tag system being pretty unreliable, I just wanted to put up a quick warning in case that would be an issue for any of our followers who may want to skip this post.
Feral: Yes. If you want to include plus sized characters, include plus sized characters. First of all, waist size is not actually a great indicator of physical fitness level. Second of all, at some point in prehistory humans evolved and when we did that, we evolved to store fat; this was likely for a reason. And third of all, no one is going to care if you do or do not find "scientific proof". The truth is, people have been people for as long as there have been people.
Tex: I would suggest to first figure out why you are defining things in the term "plus sized" - Google's Ngram Viewer finds that this wasn't in public circulation until almost 1950, which means that the vernacular would be entirely different the further back you go into the past. Wikipedia's article on "Plus-size clothing" indicates that the origins for this size group in fashion had comparatively very recent roots.
"Plus-size", "curvy", "big and tall", "stout"- these are all euphemisms to refer to a body type that is considered larger than the normal range. Human bodies are delicately-organized organic machines, and while they can tolerate a wide variety of stressors, they can only tolerate any given stressor for a certain amount of time before it damages the body - sometimes permanently, and fatally, if it's allowed to go unchecked.
The human body is built to be within a certain weight range for given heights - despite the flaws of the BMI, with its difficulty in telling apart muscle from fat (and which type of fat), it's still a good tool when used in conjunction with other diagnostic tests. To be overweight and to be obese are separated by very thin lines, and is better discussed in @ucsdhealthsciences' post "Fat but Fit: a pleasing myth or something else? ".
Given the comorbidities of being either overweight or one of the three grades of obesity, carrying more fat on your body than your body can safely tolerate is quite literally dangerous for your health. Prehistoric peoples rarely had the luxury of idleness or having someone transport them instead of walking (or even riding a horse/similar animal). Walking  in and of itself is ridiculously good for your health, to the point where exercising in the form of a gym or even manual labor can be a marginal part of one's exercise routine if someone has a choice about it.
I don't know why you doubt that a better diet and more exercise wouldn't reduce the occurrence of overweight/obese individuals - excess weight from specifically white fat has serious detrimental effects on the body and has a tendency to kill people off:

The Archaeology News Network has an article  about prehistoric obesity, and how it relates to fat storage in humans - the mutation of the uricase gene that was originally meant to help ancient humans survive famines and seasonal periods of low food. "Evolutionary history and metabolic insights of ancient mammalian uricases" by James T. Kratzer et al backs this idea up and goes into some further detail. "Archeologia dell’alimentazione umana [PDF]", or "Archaeology of nutrition" in English, by F. Gregorio and M. Sudano (abstract also provided in English) talks about how the human genotype has changed as diet and sedentary levels shifted.
Perhaps you're thinking of the Venus figurines as an example of "plus size"? But that's still not quite right - many of these figurines are meant to display what fertile women look like, especially pregnant ones (peak fertility for a great many cultures, but also a temporary state for women), and real-life steatopygian body types are mostly restricted to either parts of Africa or parts of India, often by tribe.
In China, and I believe parts of Asia with similar cultures, fat under the chin heralds many good things  - possibly because it meant you weren't starving and thus had enough food to be considered wealthy. Your mileage will vary on that, because China and many other cultures frown upon consumption unto excess for a variety of reasons.
People with more weight on them than average for their population, historically, have access to more food - which means ruling families, wealthy people - and once it was invented, (wealthy) farmers. But many cultures that were around in prehistory didn't have those kinds of societal structures, and pre-agricultural societies were inherently on the thin side because they were nomadic (which meant lots of walking), and had a diet primarily of gathered fruits/vegetables and whatever meat they could hunt down. It's usually the carbohydrates and other complex sugars in processed grains, such as breads, noodles, and bread-beers, that incite weight gain which is difficult to slough off, so it's something you need to keep in mind when worldbuilding your prehistoric societies.
If you want these kinds of body types in your worldbuilding, that's fine, but I would recommend that you don't try to view the past through the context of the present - life was very different back then, for very legitimate reasons, in ways that are neither wholly good nor wholly bad.
Saphira: Tex effectively nailed it, but I realize that you are likely writing "Plus-sized" characters into your narrative for representative purposes. You see how people under that title are treated in our current era, and you want to give them a more positive experience through your story. This is benevolently spirited, and so I understand your frustration with the situation. Being that history is not giving you a foothold for your vision, it's time to try another method.
Let's take a look at the Venus Figurines! They were made to represent women with bounty of life within them (as they were pregnant). They were also structures that represent faith. It gives us a fun, and positive, perspective on figures who are plus-sized. If we add a few degrees of separation, we get a foothold! First step: Pregnant people are plus sized. Second Step: Plus-sized means fertility and life. Third step: Anyone representing that plus-size is a bringer of fertility and life.
If Humans didn't have that plus-size due to their lifestyle and resources, then they may have idealized it. Look at how the renaissance models their women. They are plump and wealthy. Would not the people in your era feel similarly? Would they seek out, would they dream of, someone with that stature? Would they have a divine figure with those attributes? "This Venus figure represents a woman who is pregnant." "This Venus figure is not a pregnant woman, for it does not give birth to human children. Instead, it gives birth to vibrant fields, fresh water and honeybees."
If you are using divines or magic itself, you can find ways to representing plus-sizes in more creative ways. If you are working in a natural world, you can represent them with faith, or impressions of other creatures (like the bounty of a fruit, or the strength of a bear). Honestly, if we can worship skinniness through the art of Photoshop, others can worship the equally idealistic forms of the plus-size and all the wealth it represents in a pre-historic era.
Constablewrites: Another thing to remember about the Venus figurines is that recent scholarship has argued that they aren't just pregnant women, but they're self-portraits of pregnant women. That is, what was generally assumed to have been created by someone else *koff* men *koff* as an idealized depiction may have in fact been a way for women to explore and understand their own changing bodies. Perspective is critical when talking about beauty standards.
And Tex's point about the connection between economic status and beauty really needs to be underscored. You can see the point in history where a white person with a suntan went from being someone who worked outdoors (which meant they were poor and therefore undesirable) to being someone who could travel somewhere sunny and lounge around outside (which meant they were rich and therefore desirable). People are inclined to look for a mate whose children will be healthy, well cared for, and prosperous; the outward indicators of that status, whatever they might be in a given society, end up being conflated with an abstract idea of beauty.
Feral: As Tex, Saphira, and Constable pointed out "plus sized" has a wide definition (and can mean as small as an American size 10 depending on the brand), and it's important to also remember that "prehistory" has a wide definition - specifically a 3 million+ year definition. Prehistory covers everything from the first stone tools 3.3 million years ago to maybe somewhere around 5,300 years ago. Kinda. Prehistory means "before written record" and runs through the Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age, which all end in different places at different times.
So, what this means is that depending on which epoch your civilization falls under, there may absolutely be the necessary agriculture and division of social class that have been brought up.  Narrowing down when and where you are trying to base your worldbuilding in will help you as you develop you characters and do further research on  a variety of issues that may come up.
Another thing to consider is that you're probably not going to be describing your characters as "plus-sized" in your story (and if you did, all your readers would have different concepts about what that actually means), so the clearer your idea of what the characters' body shape (aka "where mass tends to accumulate"), the easier I think it will be for you to describe the character to your reader in a way that expresses what you specifically mean when you're thinking "plus sized." The fashion designer Justine Leconte has a great video to teach people how to recognize different body types using celebrities . It is geared towards fashion and what to wear based on your body type, but the knowledge is still helpful.
You might have seen this post on Tumblr with the body shapes of all the greatest athletes in the world that might also be helpful for you. But ultimately, I stand by my original point. This is a topic that no matter what you choose to do and what evidence you use to back up your choice, some of your audience is going to have a problem with it. So, just create your world and characters as you see them.

°*TouMaki - Advent Calendar 2018*° DAY 10 - “SHOPPING” (”Character A has to dress up as Santa for Christmas”) by @midotaka-is-destiny Title: Your presence is my present
Mod’s Note: Serendipity is a thing, and Christmas working its own magic is a universally accepted cliché in itself. One I’ll never tire of, probably.  Thank you for your lovely entry, @midotaka-is-destiny, and for reminding us that little sisters always know best!
The moment Makishima opened his eyes, he was greeted by the familiar scent of steamed rice – a comforting smell that he’d missed during the past two years he’d spent in England. It took him a few seconds to register where he was; the flight back to Japan had left him jet-lagged and groggy. He had arrived on his family’s doorstep at one in the morning and had barely greeted his family members before making a beeline for his old bedroom and falling asleep fully clothed.
“Ah, you’re awake!”
At first, Makishima could hardly believe that the girl at his bedside was his younger sister; in the two years since he’d seen her, she had grown so much. He grinned crookedly, pushing down the sudden pang of nostalgia. “Seiko-chan! You’re so tall! How old are you now, thirty?”
Seiko crossed her arms and pouted. “I’m six, nii-chan! Don’t be silly!”
Makishima barely had time to blink before Seiko launched herself on top of him, enveloping him in a tight hug that he’d missed more than he’d realised. He’d spent three years in England now, having only returned to Japan once, over two years ago, to watch his high school cycling team’s Interhigh competition and briefly visit his family.
He had intended to visit in order to celebrate New Year with his family but had ended up coming back to Japan in the few days before Christmas. His family, like most others in Japan, didn’t celebrate Christmas a religious holiday, but because it was a big deal in England, his university break started earlier, so he figured he might as well return to Japan a little earlier than originally planned.
“Come shopping with me today!” Seiko pleaded, tugging on his arm in an attempt to drag him out of bed. “I wanna see Santa at the shops!”
Makishima yawned and propped himself up on his elbows. “Let me eat first, Seiko-chan. I just spend twelve hours on a plane, and the food was terrible.”
Seiko made a sound of dissent, but left his bedroom, calling, “He wants food!”
Twenty minutes later, Makishima emerged from his bedroom, having finally showered and changed out of the clothes he’d been wearing for the past day. His parents’ faces lit up as he wandered into the kitchen, but they seemed surprised when he wrapped them each in a tight embrace.
“What was that for?” wondered his mother, who knew that Makishima usually tried to avoid physical contact as much as possible.
Makishima shrugged, shovelling rice into his mouth. “I just… missed you both. It’s been such a long time, and I’ve been really looking forward to coming back home.”
“Is everything alright in England?” his father asked, his eyebrows furrowing into an expression of concern.
“It’s fine,” Makishima assured them. “It’s just good to be back.”
I must be getting old, he thought with a wry smile. I was never this sentimental during high school. Maybe I need some competition to stop me from going soft…
Against his will, the thought of competition prompted the image of his old rival, Toudou, to spring to his mind. As he finished eating, Makishima tried to dispel the thought of Toudou, but the guilt of losing touch with his old friend refused to leave.
At first, they had remained in correspondence, although Makishima had a tendency to ignore phone calls. With time, that habit spread to him not answering emails or even texts, and soon enough, Toudou stopped sending them. As much as he had tried to forget about Toudou after realising it was his own fault they hadn’t stayed in contact, Makishima had to admit that he was curious as to what Toudou had been up to over the past three years.
“Nii-chan, can we go now?” Seiko demanded, her clear voice abruptly breaking into his thoughts. “It’s nearly midday already! I don’t wanna wait in a long line to see Santa!”
Makishima sighed and rose from the table. “I guess so.” He shot an apologetic glance at his parents; he would have loved to catch up with them properly, but that would have to wait.
~
When they arrived, the shopping centre was crowded with people rushing in and out of shops in a desperate attempt to get their last-minute Christmas shopping done.
“Let’s find Santa!” Seiko declared, tugging on Makishima’s hand and jumping up and down on the balls of her feet in excitement.
Makishima gave a grudging smile. “I don’t know where Santa is, Seiko-chan. I haven’t been here in years.”
Seiko pouted, but quickly brightened when Makishima pointed out the steady stream of children dragging their parents into one of the larger department stores. “Maybe Santa is this way,” he suggested with a gentle pull on her hand. “Let’s follow them and have a look.”
They stood in line behind a crowd of restless children for what felt like an eternity, and Makishima had to try his hardest not to wander off and look at the rather nice crockery display set up in a section they’d just passed, because if Seiko got lost while he was distracted, he would have no chance of finding her among this frantic bunch of whining kids.
After around forty minutes, Seiko had had enough of waiting. “I want to go home,” she muttered, barely loud enough for Makishima to hear. “I’m sick of standing around!” Her voice started to wobble.
Makishima bit his lip and hoisted Seiko onto his hip. “Come on Seiko-chan, we’re almost at the front of the line,” he reassured her, struggling to carry her with the sudden realisation that a six-year-old was a lot heavier than a three-year-old. “You can tell Santa what you want for Christmas! Isn’t that what you wanted?” He tried to keep even the tiniest hint of frustration out of his voice and stay calm; a wailing Seiko was the last thing he wanted right now.
Makishima was so preoccupied with trying to prevent Seiko from crying and throwing a tantrum in the middle of the shop that he didn’t even notice that they had finally reached the front of the line.
“Merry Christmas!” A voice that sounded a little too young to fit the image of Santa Claus broke into Makishima’s thoughts, and Seiko squirmed out of his arms at the sight of the man seated on the raised plastic throne.
“Santa!” she squealed, leaping up the carpeted steps to grab hold of the man’s hand.
The man dressed as Santa seemed to have a youthful face beneath the fake moustache and full white beard that obscured most of his features. Under the brim of the man’s red hat and the bushy stick-on white eyebrows, Makishima could just make out a somewhat familiar pair of eyes that seemed to be a mix of violet and blue. Having caught only a glimpse of the barely visible eyes, Makishima didn’t have much to help him work out where he’d seen them before, but he cast it out of his mind as he turned his gaze to Seiko to make sure she didn’t do anything stupid.
“What’s your name?” the Santa impersonator asked cheerily, his voice bright and a little sharp. He patted to his knee. “Come up and tell me what you want for Christmas!”
Once Seiko had settled herself on Santa’s knee, Makishima turned away to watch the tiny moving Christmas village display on the ground below Santa’s throne, strangely captivated by the figurines spinning around in the model ballroom.
He only started paying attention to Santa again when he heard Seiko’s voice. “I’m here with my brother!” Makishima looked up to see Seiko pointing at him from her seat on Santa’s lap, and to his surprise, Santa’s barely visible eyes had widened in shock.
“Well hello there,” Santa said, his voice lowering into something that almost resembled a silky croon directed at Makishima.
Shocked by the sudden change in Santa’s behaviour, Makishima took a step back. “Hi…?” he offered as a feeble response. “I… uh… I’m just here to bring my sister to visit you. She said she wanted to come–”
“Why don’t you come and sit on my lap too?” Santa interrupted in a smooth voice, raising a furry white eyebrow that seemed to make the peculiar atmosphere even stranger. “What do you want for Christmas, I wonder…?”
Makishima nearly laughed out of utter confusion. “What?” he spluttered, his face heating slightly at the absurd request. “Sit on your lap?”
Seiko giggled.
Santa clicked his tongue in what Makishima presumed was exasperation. “Of course.” He dropped the affected tone and said in a more natural voice that Makishima knew better than any, “I wasn’t expecting to see you here… Maki-chan.”
Santa pulled the elastic band of his beard down, letting it hang loosely around his neck as he revealed his face. Despite the moustache and eyebrows, Makishima could tell straight away that the man dressed up as Santa was none other than his high school rival.
“Toudou… what are you doing here?” he wondered out loud, bemused as to how Toudou, a man so obsessed with his own image and reputation, had stooped so low as to become a Santa impersonator in a department store.
Toudou laughed, but it was laced with a hint of bitterness. “I really should ask you what you’re doing here,” he responded without any of the peculiar flirtatiousness he’d had before. There was something different about his voice, Makishima thought as Toudou continued, “You just stopped replying to any of my texts and you never returned my calls. Didn’t it occur to you at all that I wanted to talk to you?”
Hurt, Makishima realised. It was hurt that he could hear in Toudou’s voice, the pain of being ignored and slowly forgotten. “I’m sorry,” he said weakly, knowing that it was a pathetic apology. “I just–”
Toudou waved a hand in dismissal. “It doesn’t matter now,” he said blithely, adjusting Seiko’s position on his lap. “You forgot me. I’m sure it was all for the best–”
“When I was waiting for him to wake up this morning, nii-chan said your name in his sleep,” Seiko piped up, her childish innocence causing her to be oblivious to the tension between the two, much to Makishima’s utter mortification and Toudou’s immense shock.
“WHAT?” Makishima demanded, not sure whether to be angry or laugh out of embarrassment. “What the hell, Seiko-chan? You didn’t tell me that this morning!”
Toudou shook his head in mock disappointment. “You really need to watch your language around children, Maki-chan,” he chided, his eyes lighting up with amusement and his previous bitterness cast aside for this captivating piece of information.
Makishima glared, and he wasn’t sure which of the two it was directed at. “Anyway, so what? I talk in my sleep every so often, so don’t be too flattered. I was probably talking about how annoying you are.”
Toudou didn’t seem to have paid attention to a single word Makishima had just said, and from the glazed expression on his face, Makishima could tell that Toudou was deep in thought. “I guess I’ll have to take back what I said before, then,” he eventually declared with his trademark smirk, apparently extremely pleased. “It seems you certainly haven’t forgotten your fated rival, Maki-chan! I guess I’ll give you one more chance, then!”
Makishima was about to respond when a parent in the crowd behind him called out, “Could you hurry up? All of our kids want to see Santa too!”
Toudou rolled his eyes and quickly handed Seiko a candy cane he had pulled out of his pocket. “Merry Christmas, Seiko-chan,” he said with a grin, pinching her cheek and making her giggle before she jumped off his lap and returned to Makishima’s side.
They turned to leave, but Toudou had one last thing to say.
“Maki-chan,” he added, making the hand signal of talking on the phone and flashing Makishima a wink, “call me?”
~
On their walk home, Seiko pestered Makishima with questions about Toudou. “Why was Santa flirting with you?” she asked, causing Makishima to redden and stop walking with a jolt.
“He wasn’t flirting with me,” Makishima protested, picking up their pace. “He’s just got an irritating personality. He had a lot of fans in high school and spent all his time boasting about it,” he babbled. “Don’t think anything of it.”
Seiko narrowed her gaze. “Then why was he so happy when I told him about you talking in your sleep?” she demanded, crossing her arms and declaring with a giggle, “He likes you!”
Makishima rolled his eyes. “Don’t be ridiculous. I’d like to know what kind of romance films our parents are letting you watch. Six-year-olds shouldn’t have these sorts of notions.”
“I’m nearly seven!” Seiko retorted with a pout. “I’m old enough to understand love!”
Makishima snorted. “No, you aren’t. You’re old enough to know better than to be influenced by something you see on TV.”
Seiko huffed and pulled her hand out of Makishima’s grasp. “You’re really silly,” she announced with a toss of her hair. “I know why Toudou thought you didn’t like him anymore.”
Makishima shook his head, but despite what he said to Seiko, he found himself wondering what the truth really was.
~
That night, when Seiko had gone to bed and their parents were watching an old movie that was playing on the television, Makishima sat on the edge of his bed, turning his phone over in his hands. Toudou’s voice saying “call me” repeated in his head, until Makishima began to have second thoughts about calling Toudou. He really had sounded quite hurt earlier when he claimed that Makishima had forgotten him, so now Makishima couldn’t tell if his sudden cheeriness afterwards had just been a façade.
Makishima shook his head, trying to dispel these thoughts. It was only natural for Toudou to be mad at him – after all, Makishima had practically cut him out of his life – but that didn’t mean Makishima didn’t have a chance to reconcile their friendship. Sighing, he scrolled through his contacts list until he reached a name that he hadn’t called in years – partly because Toudou was the one who had always initiated their conversations.
Toudou answered after the first ring, his voice somehow sounding quieter and more subdued than Makishima remembered it being during their calls in the past. “Maki-chan?”
“Hi, uh, Toudou,” Makishima replied, feeling somewhat uncomfortable for calling for no reason. He swung his legs onto the bed. “You said to call you, so I did…”
Toudou’s laugh crackled through the phone. “Ah, Maki-chan, you know that’s the first time someone’s ever actually called me when I told them that,” he admitted, and Makishima could just imagine his smug smile on the other side of the phone.
“Okay then,” Makishima muttered, feeling foolish that he’d fallen for what was apparently a cheap flirting tactic Toudou used for his fans. “I can just hang up if that’s what you want. I guess–”
“No, Maki-chan!” Toudou interrupted. “I didn’t mean it like that. I… really do want to talk to you. It’s been such a long time since we’ve spoken.”
“Yeah,” said Makishima, leaning back on a pillow and remembering their high school days where he could never seem to be able to avoid Toudou’s calls. “It really has. So, ah, how did you end up being a department store Santa, anyway?”
Toudou gave a muffled chuckle. “Who knows? I guess everyone’s got to earn money somehow.”
Makishima knew straight away that Toudou was evading the question but he couldn’t stop himself from pressing further. “I thought you were going to work at your family’s hot springs.”
Toudou’s sigh was audible even from the other side of the line. “If I did that, I’d probably end up working there for the rest of my life – and Maki-chan, that’s not what I want to spend my entire life doing. I’ve got other plans, and they don’t involve growing old in a hot springs resort.” He lowered his voice slightly. “I don’t know… It probably sounds stupid that I’d want to give up a perfectly good job just because of that, but… I don’t know,” he said resignedly, trailing off with another heavy sigh.
This side of Toudou was one that Makishima had rarely encountered, and it made him a little uncomfortable – he wasn’t used to dealing with these sorts of conversations – but at the same time, Makishima realised that in the three years they had spent apart, Toudou had changed. He certainly didn’t seem so arrogantly sure of himself as he had in high school, but, Makishima figured with a wry smile, that was probably just part of the responsibilities that came with being an adult.
“I think you should just do whatever you think is right for you,” Makishima said a little awkwardly. He really hadn’t been prepared to have such a serious conversation and was starting to regret bringing up the topic of Toudou’s job.
Toudou laughed softly, and was silent for a moment before suddenly blurting, “Hey, did you want to go out somewhere?”
Makishima blinked, not expecting Toudou to suggest something like that. “What? It’s nearly ten already.”
Toudou paused again and Makishima could hear him breathing. “It’s the 22nd already; everyone’s probably still out doing last-minute Christmas shopping. I’m sure there’ll be someplace that’s open.”
Makishima sighed but got up to pull on his coat and wrap his scarf around his neck. “Alright.”
~
They sat across from each other in a nearly empty café along the main street of the shopping district. By the time they met, it was just past ten o’clock, but somehow, Makishima didn’t really feel tired. It was probably the effects of the jetlag changing his sleep cycle, he realised.
“So,” began Toudou, sipping his tea and resting his chin in the palm of his other hand, “I guess this is the first time we’ve been able to talk properly.”
“Yeah,” murmured Makishima, brushing a rogue strand of hair out of his face. “If you don’t count when you were dressed up as Santa and told me to sit on your lap.”
Makishima had meant it as a friendly taunt, but to his surprise, Toudou’s face flushed a shade of pink Makishima had never seen before.
“That – that didn’t mean anything, Maki-chan!” Toudou stammered, suddenly unable to meet Makishima’s gaze. “I was just being stupid.”
Makishima bit his lip, smiling slightly. “I know; I was kidding.”
He gazed out the window, watching the people wander past and the glowing city lights flicker. There was something comforting about being back home, and as Makishima stole a glance at his friend’s still-pink cheeks, he started to realise that he’d missed Toudou more than he had originally thought.
“What’s life like in England?” Toudou asked, his voice holding a hint of something Makishima couldn’t name.
Makishima shrugged. “It’s nice, but it isn’t like Japan. I’d much rather live here, but I guess going to England was a choice I made.”
“I would have wanted you to stay,” Toudou said suddenly, putting his mug of tea down and staring seriously at Makishima. “It sounds selfish, but riding isn’t as fun without you around. It was nice having a rival.”
Makishima pensively twirled a lock of hair around his finger. “I know.”
They sat in silence for some time, simply enjoying each other’s company – something neither had experienced for three years – and Makishima reflected on how riled up he used to get by Toudou’s constant teasing and phone calls and general personality. Somewhere along the line, things had changed, he realised, because as they sat opposite each other now, Makishima felt none of that old irritation that used to plague him.
“I really should have called you,” Makishima said after what could have been ten minutes or longer. His tea was starting to go cold, but he paid it no attention. “I – I’m sorry.”
It felt strange, apologising to Toudou. It seemed weirdly formal, especially considering how they always used to be so open and straightforward with each other. There had been no apologies when they were younger, and this strange sense that there was something still unspoken between them had never existed.
Makishima sighed and was about to say something when Toudou reached out and took hold of the strand of hair Makishima had been twirling. Makishima felt his eyes widen in shock, completely surprised by this behaviour of Toudou’s. He had noticed how Toudou was acting less cheerily arrogant than he used to, but this was totally unexpected.
What was even more unexpected was when Toudou leaned even further forward, close to knocking over his tea, and cupped Makishima’s face in his palm. “I missed you, Maki-chan. A lot.”
In a state of shock, Makishima just sat there, his mind whirling. Seiko’s words – “He likes you” – echoed through his head. Everything started to fit into place now – from Toudou’s peculiar behaviour when they first encountered each other in the department store to their old rivalry that had led to what Makishima had considered to be some sort of friendship but perhaps had been something else.
With this thought, Makishima closed his eyes, relaxed, and let Toudou kiss him.
Toudou’s lips were soft and tasted like a hint of green tea, and Makishima wasn’t sure why he hadn’t kissed him earlier. When they broke apart, Makishima moved from his seat opposite Toudou to squish next to him on the bench against the wall, their shoulders gently touching as they leaned into each other, each savouring the contact they had longed for in their own ways.
As his eyes flickered up to the tinsel decorating the window, Makishima clicked his tongue and murmured, “I would have gotten you a Christmas present back in England if I knew we’d see each other.”
Toudou’s eyes crinkled into a smile as he laced their fingers together. “Don’t worry, Maki-chan,” he whispered, leaning his head on Makishima’s shoulder. “You can be my present.”

Long Post on Screenshots
Coincidentally, I had glimpsed the twitter thread in question (or something similar) before I saw a post about it and had some thoughts™ as well
I was going to straight up reply but it got out of hand and I ended up blabbing a lot about taking screenshots, mods and ReShade.
Mods. Literally just an aesthetic client-side change. I can't believe people are up in arms about this. Let people have their fun and ignore it if it's not to your taste. There's absolutely no need to shit on someone else's definition of fun. Your values for what comprises a good screenshot made with effort should not be imposed as the standard. (Unless you're holding a screenshot contest, it literally doesn't matter.)
I don't use mods personally, out of laziness and I cannot be bothered messing with my files. Partly because I don't have characters that have a particular appearance that I really want. But that's my reason, and if other people are happy with their mods, so be it. I'm happy with my own thing. Even a walk home next to a world-famous monument just gets dull when you see it so often. It's not a crime to appreciate it through a different lens.
I'm going to preface this by saying no one has to defend what they want to do for fun. And even if your reasons for using mods/ReShade etc doesn't fall in line with any of the ones offered below, it literally doesn't matter and you should have your fun.
Contrary to what some negative folks think, people are still fully capable of doing some really good glamour without mods. Although it makes sense when you play around with FFXIV's glams/character creator enough, you'll quickly realize that there are particular limitations (certain gloves don't show up with certain tops, some bottoms lose the pants/skirt when you wear certain things over them, etc) and some people simply want to portray the details of their characters accurately to their vision. I have seen a lot of really good designs that don't exactly match their in-game sprites. Some people might want to do an easy cosplay. Some people might just want to look pretty and sometimes it doesn't get deeper than that.
Nevermind that there are ordinary people behind modding, creating these for use. They didn’t spawn out of nowhere. They’re a product of someone’s hard work and skill too. Shout out to @keeperofthelilacs for the posts & a glimpse into the grueling, painstaking process just to make a deceptively simple mod and apply changes to each model. I cannot fathom people creating things that are not even in-game.
But obviously, with modding being the new shiny thing, there would be an influx of pretty pictures with people using them. The majority out there still does some creative things without the use of these programs. But their use isn’t indicative of a lack of creativity in taking screenshots.
Yes, the game is intrinsically beautiful and the sights are breathtaking, and there's no shortage of unmodded, unretouched, unReShaded screenshots littered about. I know there are more than a handful of reddit threads with such screenshots up. But, even with the built-in /gpose, the options can be limited and the vivid colors don't always show up the way people intend them to. This is why ‘different’ draws attention. Since we all have the same washed out color palette (suitable for actually playing the game. try raiding with an Aesthetic ReShade setting with Depth of Field on, it is agony.) it’s easier to pick out brighter looking, unusual colored screenshots. Moreso if they’re beautifully composed.
The improvement of colors from ReShade are only one aspect of it, as a lot of people who use them could tell you.
Tumblr media
This screenshot has ReShade on and some /gpose settings, and it’s whatever. It’s meh.
It’s poorly lit, tilted to one side for some reason, the background lantern is grabbing all the attention, but the scenery is somehow cut off, my character is awkwardly posed, the colors, while MORE vivid, aren’t really inspiring the ‘hey this outfit is awesome and unique’ feeling. You have no idea what you’re meant to pay attention to.
Now, before you say I took a bad one on purpose, this was actually from the time I first got the diamond coat so I was ACTUALLY trying to show it off. This was one of many screenshots I’d taken, trying to nail down what I wanted to do.
It just goes to show even if you have the tools, you can still produce some pretty underwhelming stuff. And you could easily take a better one if you know what you’re doing.
It may be beyond the provisions of the game, but it’s not an easy task taking good screens with ReShade. Like said, it takes time and skill.
You have to know when to use angles and tilts and how to frame photos. Composition does SO much. The word gets used a lot but there’s a lot involved, whether you do it consciously or not. Do I zoom in up close or far out? How far?  Do I want to put my subject in the center or a little to the right? How much of the background should I show? Do I blur? Do I use dutch angles? Do I take a high angle shot? Daytime? Nighttime? /gpose which filter? How much can I crop? Do I need the feet in the frame? Do I add special effects? Lighting setting 3 2 or 1? More green or more red? Those are basic questions people think about, but these are settings you use to tell a story. Then there’s questions like, how do I frame the photo to draw more attention to the feeling of being trapped? How do I use lighting to create a feeling of dread? How do I use the environment to help me tell the story and not just take a dull photo of my character?
And that’s just taking the photo. It’s easy to be tempted by all the shiny stuff you can pile onto a photo, but if it doesn’t serve a purpose other than “ooh”, then the intense sparkles floating around a photo can distract more than contribute.
So you have everything set. You switch ReShade on. You picked out a good preset. But when it comes to stuff like this one size does not fit all, in order to make it work beyond what a preset provides (as night can be pitch black, and daytime is a complete bloom-filled eyesore) you have to get your hands dirty. Presets can be pretty for sightseeing, and for most it’s enough and they work well enough to use consistently in screenshots. And that’s perfectly fine. The settings are very technical and have numerical values. I don’t understand all the values and effects myself, and finding the sweet spot to produce is an arduous process.
The same goes for Photoshop. There’s no magic button to make your art look good. You need a good eye for adjusting saturation, color balance, lighting, cropping, framing etc. to improve ANY photo. More than that, you need to be good at making believable visual effects for fancier edits. If you drag a brush randomly, no one’s going to be immersed in the way those hair extensions were made. Nope, people study the native look of a photo to make changes. Otherwise you just end up with spaghetti hair.
Tumblr media
[it’s the same ugly photo but with spaghetti hair]
I literally used the color dropper. It’s not enough to do that!! Like GIRL I’m a fuckin digital painter and I don’t know how all those people paint/edit hair, it’s a SKILL they learned and not one I have LOL. You have to care about lighting and getting the right width and all that. It’s not that simple.
Photoshop’s got a magic wand but it’s not that easy!
Tumblr media
People who edit photos are familiar with these... and each one has its own settings and values :,^) that can change the mood of a photo by making only certain colors be more muted or even making everything look a little lighter and brighter.
Tumblr media
It’s not that easyyyy look at one of these windows if I didn’t do this for a living I’d be so confused
So going back to showing off my coat. After I saw the lineup of photos I’d taken, I was pretty dissatisfied, especially because I knew I could take better photos.
I identified the problems I saw:
1.Even though I wanted to showcase my outfit, I didn’t have to take a photo straight on. The photo earlier had her facing completely straight into the camera. And it felt very flat.
2. It’s zoomed too far out, you can’t really see the details on the coat.
3. I tweaked my ReShade settings. I worked on the lighting. When I realized my settings and the lighting in game (and on gpose) were not cooperating, I decided to wait for daytime. Kugane at night was distracting as hell with all the lanterns in the background. My clothes were the star.
Tumblr media
Here’s another screenshot I took wearing the Far Eastern stuff.
I wasn’t showing off the details of the glamour here. Kugane at night has a lot of personality, lights and colors. When I looked at this old screenshot, I realized that it wasn’t a good setting for a simple photo that said “hey check my glam”. This photo told a story. My clothes weren’t the focus, it was the fact that Proxi was in Far Eastern clothes in Kugane. All of those facts were of equal importance, so she was a figure immersed in her surroundings.I didn’t need to capture the details of her dress, just show enough for it to be recognized. That’s why this photo worked. And only one of the many reasons why the badly lit one didn’t work. Contrary to the urge to do so, I didn’t need to tilt the camera angle to make it look interesting. I used her body language, paused an emote at the right second to get something more relaxed, her over-the-shoulder look gives an inviting feeling. I let the color contrast separate her from the background as a figure, but I kept her a part of that warm Kugane vibe with bits of red lighting. There’s a lot of thought that goes into this. How color and mood tie together. Knowing what is essential and what isn’t helps a lot, and sometimes it’s trial and error and you don’t really actually know what you want.
Tumblr media
Here’s the final image of the Coat screenshot that I posted  a couple months ago
The problem with the Diamond Coat is that I dyed it a dark blue color and I wanted to keep that sense of dark blue without shining a bright light on it, or lightening the color. I used stronger contrasts to bring out the blues, fiddled with settings I didn’t understand but it made details shaper lol. I used angles and some blur to add a little more dynamicity (being a more static photo) and focus on Proxi. While she is still mostly facing forward, I played with her pose more, to get more of a ~random well-dressed elezen on a stroll~ feel. And!! look at all the details on her coat, you can see them!!
But wait, you ask, aren’t you just proving that ReShade is a crutch wELL IT’S NOT. It’s a TOOL. You use. If it makes your life easier and more efficient and it makes you happier, like, honestly it doesn’t matter.
Tumblr media
But here’s a non g-pose, non-ReShade screenshot I took during a Zurvan EX run early last year. My PC froze for a second lol. I was going to have a heart attack doing this but as a SMN I’m obligated to RELISH Teraflare. This is ONE lucky screenshot I got and you know what, even if the colors aren’t super vivid, this screenshot feels SO right. The explosions aren’t overwhelmingly bright, the arena is surprisingly a fitting background, and she’s got her leggy up but she didn’t give me a panty flash and I am fortunate this turned out to be a great photo I could put in a church mural.
Tumblr media
Another non-gpose one. See! framing, contrast and all that. This was from my old blog circa 2016 and it got one note! LOL gpose didn’t even exist yet as we know it, and I don’t think ReShade was widespread or even a thing yet and I was super proud of this one. The trees gave her a soft background without making it too blindingly bright so she stands out and I love it.
So there’s’ your normal screenshot look, without excessive flash and eyesore while still being pretty.
But yeah anyway
TL;DR
1. Don’t be bitter about other people using tools and adding steps to enhance their aesthetic experiences or to create screenshots that are more faithful to their vision. If it’s not harming you, live and let live.
2. There’s more thought that goes into pretty screenshots than you think. Just because they don’t pick up a brush and draw, does not disqualify these screenshot posters as skilled artists in their own right.
(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚'✿ That’s all!

End of the year thoughts. word vomit (or what I’ve been up to “behind the scenes”). if I don’t do it now it’ll never happen before year’s end.
Wall of text incoming ha („ಡωಡ„)…
.
So, at the end of this year, I have more Nendoroids than space to display them. But somehow, with great patience and determination, creative rearrangements, and installation of new shelves, I have made them all fit. XD
I’m getting into other types of figures as well. Scales, which I never saw myself buying in the past–have you heard of Parfom figures, uber cute–and model kits and figma type figures. *gasp* Gundam?! Should I do Gundam??? I kinda want to now. Robots are so much fun. Which brings me to... Polynians! Which are the best thing ever. My most anticipated figure is the Polynian Shamrock which is kind of a re-release but kind of not. He got a body upgrade and a few other minor changes. I cant wait to finally own one. (3 cough cough) One of the three I’m only getting for the body which I’m going to use to make my Polynian Janna a boy. Wouldn’t Janna make the sweetest boy? They just have the most innocent looking eyes <3 And now that we’re on the subject of robots. I recently bought/preordered some Frame Arms Girls that I’m planning on modding into boys (sorry but almost everything has to be a boy in this household). I’m starting of with Materia, Baselard, and (alternate color)  Hresvelgr. I really dig their designs but its an all female figure line :(((( I still have no clue how I’ll be going about it, but mark my words, those girls will be turned into cute robot boys. Not sure if there will be 3 robo boys or if I’ll be mixing and matching parts for just 1 or 2 boys. hmmm
Oh right right! I also became interested in Azone’s Assault Lily line, specifically the custom Lily (Lilies?). Its basically a head w/sculpted hair on a picco neemo body (1/12 size so small!). From what I can see there a named Lilies which seem to have established characters and come with unique costumes and items and the custom type which are available in three variants (just different hair colors) and plain clothes. They’re basically the same aside from the clothes and slight price difference. None of the character lilies’ faces really spoke to me, so, I went ahead and pre-ordered a custom lily 037 with pink hair. She comes with extra face plates and hair parts. But if you know me you know I don’t usually get girl dolls so why this one? Cuz I’m making her into a he too! :D not sure if I’ll mod her body or not. I might just sell it because *drumroll* I might just not need to (mod it that is). Azone is releasing Picco Neemo DANSHI soon –  picco neemo boys!! There are currently photos of prototypes labeled a, b, and c. I’m not sure if they’ll release like the custom lilies where each letter type will be available in different hair colors or if that counts as one doll and he’ll be available in three different hairstyles. I’m thinking it’s the first option but you never really know. The c type has the best hair imo.
Pure Neemos and Ruruko dolls are adorable af and I need moar! Now that I have a couple of each I feel like there’s a some sort of story developing (rurukos and PN are in different “universes”/separate stories). They’re by far my favorite dolls to shop for. I love having them within arms reach to play around with when I’m bored. Fun to dress up, fun to pose, and so portable too! I’m currently waiting for the limited edition Wizard of Oz Himeno who will be the younger (twin?) sister to my Alvastaria Neil, my tol gentle boy. She comes with cute pastel clothes and is on the S body...I think. S body is the best girl body imo. The M and L just look like an elongated version of the S size. It looks a little weird. And xs size is cute but too small for my taste. (although I do love my xs rurukos/PN and wouldn’t even think of selling them. I just can’t see those little guys on any other body)
I need to find someone to paint my blank obitsu head, the person I was thinking of sending him to isn’t taking commissions right now T-T I don’t even know if they’ll reopen. I hope so. I really like their work so I wouldn’t mind waiting. I need to get him a body. I want a pure neemo S size boy body for him but I can’t seem to find one second hand and Azone still doesn’t sell that body separately, only the xs size. OTL
My doll count is fluctuating as always. I just never know if I’ll actually like the doll until I have it in my hands. -__- So far my oldest doll is still the first, sweet Enda, followed by young!Marion, then Quinton, adult!Marion…and it gets hazy from there on. Oops lol. My most anticipated doll purchase is…5th Motif Venitu!!! Yaaasssss!!! Aaaa I can’t believe I was finally able to purchase one. Super excited for this one. I guess he counts as a grail? I really wanted one. Never thought I’d get to own one. I painted one before (faceup commission) and he was so so beautiful. I want him now! >o< I had him on a 6 month LA but now that I’ve sold my DDS Len I can pay him off much sooner. !!! !!!!!!!!! !!!1 1!!!!!
Now that I’m speaking dolls, I still need to buy a body for my Fairyland event head whom I’ve named Soma. I’m not sure if it’s his permanent name or a temporary one. You know what, its probably permanent. I’ll get so used to it I won’t be able to see him as anything else. That’s what always happens with placeholder names, that’s how Marion was named lol. I also need to get my Luts Satyr his human torso. (and redo his faceup x__x Did I name him? I don’t think I named him yet. Bodies still needed for Egil and Gera. I need to get some eyes that actually fit my Kanadoll boys, Egil (adult!Marion stole his eyes) and incoming Venitu (!!!). I want to get some glasses too, I’m not sure who will wear them though. I was thinking they would go to either Valentine or incoming Venitu. I have a thing I’m working on for my Batchix St George, Gilbert. It’ll be pretty neat-o if it turns out ok ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also need to finally wash that bag of alpaca hair and get to making some wigs haha. I would also really really really like to do a proper photo shoot with adult!Marion now that he’s complete. He’s gorgeous. Love him. Best boy. Fav boy. He’s my #1  <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
I want to post more on my tumblr though I have no idea what. More photos? Character info? Story snippets? Drawings? Faceups? Would anyone be interested in my non-bjd figures? :p hmmmmm What do?
My resolution for the coming year is try to be more active in the community. To leave nice comments on people photos and actually talk to people. Have conversations? I’m so bad at this but I’ll try. >__<
That’s basically it. Um if you wanted to see more of my stuff there’s more activity (randomness and bad pics) on my insta @silent.wayfarer. Its basically all of interests crammed into one place. No organization. Kind of like a photo dump. Its my comfy trash pile.

((Thank you for taking the time to read this re-do. I really did lower my word-count and I tried to make his story more straight to the point, but I am not sure. I tried to follow the feedback that was given and hopefully this presents a better picture of who Nazzaereno is. My cousin drew him for me.
My cousin and I were re-doing our universes and we decided to go really in depth with the Netherworld characters. We did a character swap and they let me take Nazzaereno back so that I could try to focus better on his story.
World: The universe that my cousin and I created, but from the Netherworld Series of characters ))
Hi! This is Mod D with your profile re-review. Your full profile and critique are under the cut.
Name: Nazzaereno Abategiovanni
 Real Name: “Sette” or “Seven”
 Aliases: Nazz, Vulture.
Gender: Agender, but he uses he/him pronouns.
Sexual Orientation: He’s never explained it to anyone.
Age: He just learned that he is actually 3000 years old.
Species: Archdemon turned Avvoltoi.
 Birthplace: Poveglia, Venice, Italy
Occupation: He now works as a free assassin.
 Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Affiliations: The Avvoltoi, and he is loyal to whoever owns him at the time.
 Family:
Uno Bianchi: Uno is his blood brother and they have had it out for each-other for years. Nazz has always had to protect himself from his greedy brother, who has abused him, killed him multiple times, and taken all of the friends that he loves. They hate each-other so much that Nazz changed his appearance so that he wouldn’t look like him any more.
Cinque: Cinque was the closest thing to a sister that he had. She cared for him when he was younger and she taught him the ways of being an Avvoltoi. She was killed by Uno and Nazz has been trying to get revenge ever since.
 Best Friends:
Akhenaton Ralïs- Their relationship is very strange. He thinks of Ahken as a friend and he will listen to him but he also tells people that Ahken owns him. He learned his teleporting skills from him and he’s always willing to do a job for him.
Janus Dragyn: Janus, or as he calls her “Sorella”, is one of the few people that he gets along real well with in the netherworld. She was raised in an assassin cult like him and they talk to eachother about killing, death, and morbid things. When he is not working for Akhen, he asks to be placed with her.
Relationship Status: Single
 Significant Other: NA
 Other Relationships:
Nero: He has a weird fascination with Nero, but it’s not an unhealthy one. He learned that Nero is actually an Alien who is living in the netherworld, and he wants to know what his blood tastes like. Nero is actually too nice to tell him that he’s creepy, but Nazz is starting to get the point.
 Height: 6'4
 Weight: 220 lbs
 Build: Athletic, muscular and lean.
Skin Tone: Deep tan, with gold undertones. A weird thing is that towards the tips of his toes and fingers they look black like a birds.
Hair: Jet black and ear length. It falls in his face and he likes the effect that it has.
Eyes: His eyes are gold, and his pupils are vertical like a cats. He also has two vertical scars underneath them, the left being longer.
Identifying Marks: He has very sharp, white teeth, almost to the point where they are hyper white and his eyes do glow, like they are on fire or something.
Appearance: Nazz has been described as being rather beautiful. He recently went through a change of his own doing because he was told that he looked too much like his brother, and that offended him. He has dark tan skin, and Jet black hair that is currently ear length and parted. He has full lips, big eyes, and shaped eyebrows that always give him an amused look. His eyes are actually glowing yellow with slit pupils, and his sharp teeth are obnoxiously white, almost fluorescent.
Along his body, he has black binding tattoos and metal locked cuffs that are on his neck, arms, and ankles. Due to boredom, he sometimes turns himself into a raven, a black dog with no tail, a child, or a feminine version of himself.
Various tests have been conducted, and apparently his clothes are made of the same material as his skin, so he can change his outfits rather quickly if he needs to. When he’s not disguised, his outfit consists of a black, backless form fitting material that ends in boots and black gauntlets. He has black raven feathers on the shoulders and back, and he has a tasset. It goes down to his knees and flows like a small train.
Personality: Nazzereno has a rather strange personality. It is almost as if he has bits and pieces of different personalities that converge to make his own personality. He is almost always friendly, but friendly to the point where he comes off as being a bit creepy. If one can stand being near him for the time being, he’s actually a nice person. He kind of acts like an older teenager, so he’s always willing to have fun, or he’s always ready to cause trouble. He’s also known for being very capricious.
This changes whenever he knows that Uno is around. He becomes quiet, sensitive, paranoid, and generally distressed if he knows that his brother is in town somewhere.
Motivations: He just wants to live, that’s about it.
Current Goal: He’s actually trying to help the Netherworld with stopping a demon vampire.
Life Goal: He wants to learn more about the rest of the Archdemons and who his real family was.
Motto: “Io sono tuo, maestro ”.
Best Quality: He is very thorough when it comes to completing contracts.
Worst Quality: He gets bored easily, so it’s best to keep him entertained. When he’s bored, he gets really destructive.
Likes: His swords, blood, and video games. He is also attached to anything on his person that is yellow. He found these items and he likes integrating them into his outfit.
Dislikes: Demytri Dzurhov. He has met him once before and he knows that there is somethings seriously wrong with that guy.
The Nazzerela family because They are demon hunters and they make it their goal to destroy the Avvoltoi.
He also hates meeting people that he can’t figure out, which is why he is so interested in Nero.
Fears: Being bound to his brother. He would rather hurt himself instead of working for that evil man.
Hobbies: Sightseeing, He also enjoys painting and creating new outfits.
Talents: Nazzaereno is extremely good at sword fighting. He is a natural with any weapon that he can find, but he an expert with any bladed weapon because it is nearly impossible to get a hit on him when he is fighting.
Skills: Like most Avvoltoi, He is fluent in multiple languages and He’s also a very good story teller.
Abilities: Nazzaereno is an Archdemon who was turned into an Avvoltoi, so his abilities are varied. He learned that he can teleport, he can become incorporeal, and he can even possess people for a limited time.
He is immortal and he can’t really feel pain unless its from another Avvoltoi, but he can fake an injury very well.
 Weapons:
He has two blades named Tè and Caffè. They are twin curved long swords and they are actually very rare. He bound them to himself, so he can summon them at random.
Weaknesses: Unknown, but he’s really afraid of the necromancer, Tera Na'Vole.
Secret: He and Janus are friends with benefits. They’ve been together for a bit and since nobody asked, they haven’t told.
Influential Memory: It is a negative memory, but he remembers how his brother was willing to kill him so that he could keep his material possessions.
Role Model: Cinque was that bit of good morality that he needed in his life. She was always a good person to him and anyone that she met.
Crush: He might have a crush on Akhen. It’s probably not even a crush, but he just likes being near him.
Source of Embarrassment: He’s embarrassed by the fact that he can do all of these things and that he’s basically a super demon, but once he sees his brother, he can’t do any of that. He freezes up.
Source of Pride:His swords. He actually killed his brothers fiancée for them. She was a tough fight, but he managed to get through it easy enough.
 -History-
Nazz has a spotty memory of his own life. He knows that his oldest brother, Uno, hated him for some reason and that he was the youngest child of a poor family. He heard that his brother had eventually summoned a type of demon that was known as an Avvoltoi. These demons were wish granting ones and he heard that Uno became one of the richest men in Venice because of her.
Every month a sibling would go, and Nazz assumed that they were working for him. Something happened and he sent in some guards to kill everyone but Nazz, who was taken as a prisoner and given to Nove so that she could have her own personal play thing.
For 5 years, She did horrible things to him. When he was alone one day, he heard from some guards that Uno was growing paranoid and that he feared someone would come to take his money. Nazz knew that she killed all of his guards and he was stabbed by someone.
After waking up, Nazzaereno met a friendly woman named Cinque who helped him out. She said that she was his teacher in the Shadow World and he had to do what she said. As he trained, he noticed that there was always a man who would watch him. The guy looked familiar, and Nazz learned that his name was Uno, but that was that.
For his first proving mission, Nazz was summoned by a ghoul named Akhenaton. Akhen was an elite soldier and he wanted Nazz as one of his cadets. He made a bond with him and for 5 years they worked together. Akhen admitted that he had feelings for him and Nazz did like him as well, but this was forbidden by the current Queen. He unbound himself from Nazz, but not before he taught him teleportation.
To avoid Uno, he started to take on long term contracts like joining armies or being married. He was caught caught and punished by his brother who gave him most of his human memories back while also binding him to Nove, who was as cruel as ever. He wanted to get out, so he teleported to the netherworld where he asked for Akhen’s help. In a drastic measure, he asked the current Reaper, Troa Dødsson, to bind himself to Nazz, which caused him to become unbound from Nove.
Nazz made a trap for her which involved him getting caught by the Reapers. When she arrived to get him back, Akhen grabbed her and teleported with her. Knowing that teleportation was disorientating to first timers, Nazz appeared and he cut off her head. He then left the head in Uno’s home, sending him a message.
Nazz was free to do what he wanted. As he traveled Italy, he was attacked by Uno. He explained that an eye was for an eye and that if he went with him then he wouldn’t kill Cinque. Nazz was worried, so he willing went with him.
Cinque was already dead and he finally caught his brother. Uno physically tortured him for weeks and out of spite, he gave him all of his memories back. He became physically sick from trying to understand what he was seeing. Akhen appeared soon after and he defeated Uno.
He awoke to see that he was in the netherworld. He saw Akhen and he tried asking him some questions, but he acted strange with him. He told him that he was bound to Troa and that he should speak to him instead, which was odd because he had never brushed him away before. He went to speak to Troa, and he learned that for defying his Queen, Akhen’s memories were erased and he was exiled. Troa also told him that he was actually an Archdemon who was turned into an Avvoltoi, and that he should spend his time reading about his people. He accepted and he’s been in the netherworld ever since.
First off, I’d like to acknowledge how trimmed down Nazz’s profile is with this revision. It’s very much apparent that things have been streamlined, especially in-regards to the History section. Also the included Relationships sections expand the profile for the better as well. These are great improvements that present things that much more clearly and with a lot of extra focus. Thanks for taking those aspects of the prior review to heart – it definitely shows.
Back on the topic of Nazz’s revised History though, I can also see that you’ve reworked his Backstory to make the progression more straightforward. Specifically the biggest shifts being that Uno is now the antagonist (as well as the older brother), Nazz is now a more self-interested, opportunistic character rather than being outright evil, and the story itself starts out in Italy with Nazz as human and moves to the Netherworld from there. Combined with his maintained prior aspects and the trimming of his more cartoonishly villainous ones, I think this is a solid improvement for Nazz himself as well as his overall arc. It makes his traits mesh that much better and gives him a stronger sense of progression.
However, I will suggest that his History section be made more specific at points. This isn’t to say that the information included is bad/inconsistent (the angle of Nazz having memory issues does provide some cover for vagueness), but it does seem a bit too undefined in places. To provide an example, at the end of the third paragraph it’s said that Nazz “was stabbed by someone.” Emphasizing that this was someone Nazz didn’t see (and thus couldn’t identify) or didn’t recognize would allow the moment to be more concrete while retaining the mystery of the attacker. Alternatively, for added antagonism, have the person who finally stabs Nazz be Uno. There are other places like that in this section that could benefit from added precision as well, like Nazz’s training in paragraph four, but I don’t think it needed to be re-written – just made a bit more specific.
Beyond that, the other details of Nazz’s profile all seem pretty straightforward and solid enough. His Personality section is fairly fleshed out, his Appearance section covers all the required bases and goes into nice detail, and his Abilities and various Relationships are all defined. Something I’ll point out that I especially liked about Nazz’s revision is the addition to the main Personality entry about how he seems to be a completely different person around Uno. It highlights the impact Uno’s hostility and torture has had on Nazz pretty well and reflects back on Nazz’s new History section. Especially so given the fact that Nazz has never actually fought or beaten Uno himself. The angle of a demon having to deal with the trauma of years of abuse is an interesting one to say the least.
All in all, this revision is a definite improvement to Nazz’s profile. I think his character comes across more strongly given the streamlined History that keeps the focus on his experiences, actions, and reactions while more accurate reflecting his Personality. The fact that it leaves him with a clear path of future progression makes it even better. It could benefit from being more clear and definite in places, but what you’ve got now is solid.
Thanks again, and I hope this helps!

Doug Dalmatian
//I do have an ask blog up of him but I wanted so badly for someone else’s opinion of him, I’ve been working on him for 3 years and I hope he’s good
Tumblr media
Before being melted and old, etc. etc. brand new basically.
I’m iffy about the shirt, honestly. It’s super cute, but as with every clothing item in animatronics, it can get caught up in joints, etc, in case it’s a very mobile animatronic. Consider having it be painted on and other ways to implement the same design with less risks.
Otherwise, I think this is a very cute and good design! Not over the top, a good firefighter dog.
Tumblr media
Few replacement parts later and breaking down along with melting
Oh the irony... i like this too though. Especially how the design got changed overtime to be more clearly identifiable as the correct dog breed Present State Name: Doug Dalmatian
Programmed Gender: Male
Age: -I alter this depending on the AU he is talking to so no set age or year- Understood
Species modeled after: Dalmatian aka Dog (yep I know dogs are overdone but I hadn’t seen a dalmatian and I love those too much to give up the breed for something less eye catching)
It’s not a matter of wheter it’s overdone or not, but of how each individual character stands out! I like the choice of the dalmatian, since they fit very well the firefighter motif. : )
Voice: Full grown male with a direct and alert voice to keep kid’s attention and talk seriously, but not to harsh to scare away the poor things
Well, that’s fine! I could perhaps suggest a voice inspired by old school safety fun videos for children, those weird but strangely cute ones. Then again, that might just drive the firefighters who need to use this guy crazy- just a possibility for you to consider
Height: 6'7
Job:  k this is where things are a bit different here 1st he doesn’t work at the FNAF franchise 2nd he wasn’t even made by the same animatronic maker, in fact his creator was a copycat looking to get some good cash off the hype 3rd he is stationed at the local firehouse but CAN ROAM why? because in his featured design he was meant to be taken along for teaching schools or being in marches like parades. Granted he didn’t go alone but he can move away from his original establishment
So basically his job is/was teaching fire safety
Now that’s super neat! The concept of firefighters having this big bootleg dog to be more cool and hip with the kids is so painfully 80′s/90′s that it’s comically believable.
Personality: Straight forward, but a little playful like a pup. He is very direct when it comes to information, yet excitable during playtime or getting attention. He’s the mixture of a lovable dog that also works well, of course he wasn’t programmed to nip, bite, or scratch like a real dog would.
That sounds nice! Direct instructions mixed with some silly play- I don’t know how I feel about him being able to tell he’s getting attention, though. It’s... too humanized? Still, since you did mention you have several AUs, wheter this trait is too human or not depends on your setting Despite having fail safes for fires his casing was cheaped out, so his plastic cute dog face can sometimes melt (Just. I mean, the thing just has a melty face when thrown in the fire. That’s hardly a bad thing. Let me suggest something else. Perhaps faulty wiring inside could be a fire hazard itself- leading to something argably creepier. If you don’t catch the circuits frying, internal temperature keeps rising and can result in the outer casing melting without any visible outer cause.) which is a flaw later found out about and a main reason why he was thrown out from the station due to not being safe. Because of this he ends up at the FNAF location and hangs around there for company and for other reasons as well.
And so, the bootleg became main cast themselves. Take us out, boys!
Catchphrases:  Be safe around Fires Stop Drop and Roll Things are getting heated up Put out those flames and stop fighting
-IMPORTANT INFO- Since he is not built the same as the animatronics he doesn’t follow the nightguard hunt like they do, IN FACT he follows a different protocol. Due to safety measures being locked into him he follows those rules instead. Fair, I’d expect just that. If he sees someone smoking, something burning, or worse yet his chemical sensory attachment (in his nose) catches a whiff of cigarettes on you He doesn’t stuff you in a suit He burns you alive WHOA BOY, For a fire hazard dog you are p harsh on that fire action huh.  yes this gives off a lot of sound, but as we’ve seen before in the Fnaf era there’s been plenty of yelling but no one comes around until morning to find the aftermath. Besides where would he even put a body in a restaurant he wasn’t even part of? I say easier solution is just burn it to ash and forget about it, the bones would be brittle enough to crush away.
I mean. The idea of this dog burning you alive, being a nearly garanteed death once activated, is not necessarely bad. I just think that the trigger needs to be worked more with. Again, some humanization, you do as you see fit for each of your AU settings.
I can easily see this dog being a Puppet-like character. Something like a permanent fire hazard in your room that could give off smoke and result in your death if it gets too bad. Managing your time to tend to it etc etc you get it 1. he doesn’t know any of the fnaf history or characters (I mean its an animatronic. That’s just expected) 2. he also didn’t cause the “fire at FNAF” that’s already been explained  3. he can have an AU that has a ghost child to his own or just be a regular old animatronic, regardless I made him flexible.  4. he doesn’t have a Funtime rendition, or Nightmare, or etc. I may have drawn them but they are not cannon to my oc because he wasn’t made from the same person as the FNAF crew. I like to use numbers to list off extra info
I think that is a pretty good OC! It gives off a very, very strong safety ad vibe and that’s lovely, gives it a ton of personality. Could be worked in a few aspects, but it’s very solid and I like him : )

Meet the Master Armoursmith - DeserterX
Today we are talking to DeserterX a long time member of our Nexus Mods community and author of many incredibly detailed armour mods for Fallout 4 and Skyrim. BigBizkit: Thanks, DeserterX, for joining us today: as always, we like to start the interview off by you telling us a bit about yourself.   DeserterX: Well, I am just a guy with a passion for computer graphics. Recently I discovered I can paint and design clothes and I am very happy that modding is giving me the opportunity to be part of something that I love.     Many people might be familiar with your Skyrim/Skyrim SE and Fallout 4 mods as you’re most well known for creating amazing armours! Would you say that’s your forte and do you have a favourite mod of yours?   Thank you! Yes, armors is what I love making the most. It is a great challenge every single time to take a nice idea, or a very well done 2D drawing and bring it to life as a 3D model that looks beautiful from every angle. Some times it works, some times not so much, but this challenge always excites me. As for a favorite, every armor I make is my favorite when it is completed. Until the next one that is.     Other than the technical execution of creating the models and textures, in your opinion, what separates a good armour from a bad armour?   Mainly I think a good armor has to fit the game world it is created for. For example if you make a futuristic armor no matter how good it is, it will fail its purpose if you use it in a fantasy setting game like Skyrim. Also a good armor needs to offer the player play time. A player has to have a role when he/she is wearing it. That being a thief, or a mage, or a vampire for example in a game like Skyrim.     You must be spending a lot of time on your armours as many of them are insanely detailed! Did you ever dive deep into the creation of an armour only to scrap it completely because it just didn’t work out?   Nope, it never happened. But some armors reached a dead end at some point in the past. When this happened I took a step back to think. There is always a way to turn a disaster to something positive. So I just kept the parts I liked, changed what I didn't and all was well after. Now I base my armor creations on some excellent drawings and real life models of some very talented artists, so the chances of this happening are very low.     What is your main source of inspiration for your work?   Since most of my armors are meant for a female character, it may sound weird, maybe it is, but mainly it's the woman's body. I like thinking of ways to hide or reveal parts of it to make it look sexy and beautiful. For some time now though, my inspiration comes from looking at the amazing screenshots from a very talented person, dianka33. We met through Nexus by sharing the same passion for beautiful outfits and now we live and work together for about six months. Just exchanging ideas and looking at my work through her eyes is the only inspiration I need.     How did you learn to do what you do and what tools do you usually use?   I studied design and multimedia a long time ago, after that I was making graphics for a television network, and after that I worked a long time in construction making virtual 3D presentations. So I had an idea of how 3D things work. When I started modding I had to adapt to a new age of software and learn it all over again for an entirely different purpose. Right now I am using Blender to create all the outfits, Outfit Studio to do all the weights and in short make them playable in a computer game, Photoshop for all the texturing, Crazy Bump for my height maps and finally Nifscope to put everything together and preview it as I go.       If you can remember: how did you start your modding journey and how did you find out about Nexus Mods?   There was this game, X-Rebirth. There was this terrible annoying voice saying "Show me your wares please" every single time you went to a vendor. It was driving me so crazy that I started looking for a way to shut this person up. With a little help from Google I discovered Nexus and downloaded my first mod that made it possible for me to enjoy one of my favorite games at the time. My modding journey started with X-Rebirth as well. Made a modification for the armor of the co-pilot (just a single edit to a texture) and after that I published an ENB preset for that same game.     We recently celebrated 1,000 Games on Nexus Mods. What would you say are your favourite games to play and/or mod?   Congratulations! It's so nice to see Nexus growing and supporting even more games. Nexus completely changed my gaming experience for the better and I am glad to know that more people can experience the same for their favorite games. My favorite games to mod are Bethesda's games of course. They offer us tools and they were very open and welcoming to modders. At least in the past. That is why in my opinion their games became so popular, and this is why I love modding them. Now to play, I enjoy Bioware's games mainly for the amazing experience of the Mass Effect trilogy.     Outside of modding, what are some things you like to do for fun?   Spend time with my girlfriend, see movies (with aliens), play computer games, eat chickens, and I like to do driving trips whenever I can.     Having been a member of our site for so long, you must have some other authors whose work you appreciate. Anyone in particular you’d like to give a shoutout to?   First of all Ousnius. Made all these amazing tools for modders to use and it is amazing how many things he knows and how much time he is spending helping everyone. Docteure and Jeir because I appreciate attention to details and they never let anything slip by them. Hype1 for all his amazing meshes and realistic textures. Tiwa44 with his very elegant modifications to many vanilla outfits that inspired me to start my own outfit creation journey.     Is there anything else you would like to say to the Nexus Mods community?   To the modders just one thing, share what you make. Modding is based on sharing, most of us start by building on something someone else did before us, at the end, no matter what, helping others helps us all as a whole. To the community in general, ... stay awesome guys! [line] A big thank you to DeserterX for taking the time to talk to us! If there's an author or mod project you'd like to know more about, send your suggestions to BigBizkit or Pickysaurus.  Published first at Meet the Master Armoursmith - DeserterX

Niyosha Kan
(This character is part of a four-member ensemble cast in a fantasy world of mixed mythology I haven’t named yet. Three of them go on a road trip as childhood friends where some secrets are exposed that effects not their relationships, but their perception of the world. The novel I’m writing it for is going to have a nonlinear narrative jumping to various moments in time as they progress on their trip. Please tell me all the pros and cons to my characters. Drag them if necessary if they fall into any stereotypes since they’re all witches of color. I’m all ears.)
Name: Niyosha Kan (she/her/hers)
Female, Age 33 , Height 8”9
Aliases/ Nicknames: “Freckled-face giant” (Fallon, Nora) “Ms. Kan” (coworkers) “Nini” (Lanique, family) ”Jill/Ana/Bob” (other associates)
Relationship Status/Significant Other: single/none
Occupation: Top chemist at Brewer Institute
Skills: psychometry, witchcraft (potions and charms), shady deals
Current Goal: to have a great vacation on a road trip with her two best friends
Appearance: Being a half-giant, Niyosha is the tallest of her closest friends. She’s a skinny woman with a tawny brown complexion. Her round face is covered with freckles and her dark eyes are framed by thin, wired red glasses above a narrow nose and painted, thin lips. She usually keeps her straight russet brown hair in a messy bun filled with pins. It irks her to no end that this is the only hairstyle she can maintain without the usage of various gels and spells. And even then, the style will only last for about an hour. At work, she can be found in her lab coat in a simple blouse and jeans, slouching over her desk filled with papers and chemicals working on her latest potion when the boss is around. Outside of that, she spends time with a string of associates in the latest fashion paired with her favorite heels. One accessory that never changes on her are two golden bracelets that jingle on both wrists.
Personality: Nosy, noisy, laid back and flirty. She is impulsive and prideful in her body and roots. She hates being looked down upon (figuratively and literally) and will curse anyone who dare insult her or any of her friends in a way she can’t handle.
Backstory: This is a long one. I don’t even know how to start.
As stated before, Niyosha is a half-giant. Like humans, giants are not homogenous. They vary across the world and have their own culture and style separated by tribe. Each tribe is separated by their ancestor names (based on mythology around the world, whether the giant spoken of was humanoid or not). In Niyosha’s case, her giant tribe is known as the Sai’i based off of Paiute oral history and culture (that I’m still researching. But if you have anyone I can speak to specifically about her characterization, I welcome the intel).
She was born of the union between her human mother and giant father. Both are still alive and well and together. However, they did move several miles away from Sai’i and Niyosha’s mother’s family territory to avoid some of the prejudices they had to deal with. Unions between humans (who avg. between 5 and 6 ft) and giants (avg. between 14 and 20 ft.) aren’t significantly frowned upon these days. But offsprings certainly are. This is because they’re considered toss ups. Either they end up being capable of defying physics like a normal giant with an unconscious ability to center their gravity, or their legs can’t keep up with their weight and they need assistance. If they don’t have this ability, they’re considered a failure thanks to “half-breed genetics”. Which is kind of mess up because full-blooded giants with disabilities exist as well. It’s just that half-giants make up a smaller population in tribes so the statistics look larger in comparison. But I digress.
In Niyosha’s case, she needs assistance with her legs. When she was younger, she used crutches while her parents sought the necessary ingredients to strengthen and stabilize her legs. She was not bullied directly until she turn eight and discover her Gift of psychometry where she accidentally read her relative’s thoughts of her being inferior after a hug. Her self-esteem was nearly crushed and her newly found Gift caused bullying. I can’t go into much detail but she does regain it with time and support. She grows to be a very popular and social individual. She currently has tattoo’d spells across both legs that stabilizes her. They need to be revamped every twelve hours. If she doesn’t have the ingredients to revamp the spell, she uses the enchanted bracelets as temporary crutches or Fallon will carry her with her telekinetic Gift.
Hi! This is Mod D here. There’s a lot of solid information included in Niyosha’s profile, but it would benefit from some reformatting and additional details. Your full review is under the cut!
First off, Niyosha’s general information section could be reformatted to be more clear. Breaking up the clumped up sections like “Female, Age 33 , Height 8”9” and “Relationship Status/Significant Other: single/none” into their own separate categories would make the information a lot smoother to read. The same goes for separating Niyosha’s preferred pronouns from her name. That keeps the specific focus on each individual aspect, rather than listing a bunch of different factors all in one line.
Continuing on, Niyosha has a pretty extensive list of Nicknames that could use trimming. Specifically ‘Ms. Kan’ and ‘Jill/Ana/Bob.’ ‘Ms. Kan’ isn’t really a nickname at all – it’s a respectful form of addressing Niyosha by her last name – and I don’t understand how or why 'Jill/Ana/Bob’ apply to her as fitting nicknames in the first place (if there’s context that makes these appropriate, it needs to be explained later in the profile). 'Nini’ makes sense as a shortening of her given name and a symbol familiarity, and while 'Freckle-faced giant’ is fitting given her appearance/height though it seems a bit too wordy. Nicknames tend to arise from a singular main trait, so condensing that down into just 'Freckle’ or 'Freckles’ would fit the concept a lot better. Beyond that, having a bunch of nicknames for one character makes it difficult to determine who is being addressed. Instead of having to remember the character’s actual name and one or two aliases, readers need to remember five or six different names just for one character which will get them confused (and beyond that, the sheer amount of nicknames will clutter up the writing). Sticking with one primary nickname and possibly a second based on familiarity/individual preference (IE only a specific character/group calls Niyosha a certain nickname/title) keeps things a lot more focused and removes the issue of getting lost when one character addresses another.
I’d also suggest breaking up her Skills section into different categories. 'Psychometry’ would fit better under a Powers/Abilities heading (along with an explanation of what exactly Niyosha’s capabilities and limitations are) while 'shady deals’ seems like more of a Talent. Given Niyosha’s status as a university level chemist, witchcraft (potions and charms) is definite a trained skill, though I’d advise adding more to both the Skills and Talents sections. What other things is she good at? Does she play any instruments or have any artistic interests? To round out this area, you might also add in Hobbies, Likes, and Dislikes. As is I don’t have much of an idea on what Niyosha’s interests are. The Background section mentions that she’s very social and popular, but as is the other sections of her profile don’t really affirm this aspect (aside from the vague mention of Niyosha hanging out with 'associates’ in high fashion). Does she just enjoy fancy clothes, or does she make her own fabrics/dye? What role, if any, do her skills in witchcraft play in Niyosha’s interest in fashion? Does she entertain ideas of modeling, or is it more of a casual interest? Addressing things like these would give more depth to Niyosha’s capabilities.
Regarding Niyosha’s Appearance section, I have no changes to suggest for the details. It’s a really solid description, and I especially like the emphasis on how her outfits change based on who she’s with and where she’s at. As common sense as that might seem, a lot of authors tend to just keep their character in one outfit at all times which A) isn’t realistic and B) adds nothing to that character’s sense of identity. My only suggestion here it to move the Appearance section up higher in the profile, to keep it with the rest of Niyosha’s physical description.
Conversely I think Niyosha’s Personality section could do with some expanding, especially regarding specifics. As is I’ve only gotten a vague overview of who she is. While a Personality section shouldn’t be completely exhaustive of a character’s identity, some more specifics would help round out who she is. For example, the comment that she’s impulsive and prideful in her body and roots’ – what exactly does that mean? I understand the gist of it, but spelling out that Niyosha is proud of her heritage and providing an example of that (is her method of witchcraft very traditional? Are the fancy clothes she wears culturally specific?) would give it that much more presence. On the same note, there’s the mention that Niyosha will curse anyone who insults her friends or herself in 'a way she can’t handle.’ What exactly would that be? What remarks really get under her skin? Beyond that, how exactly does she curse people? What happens to them? It’s perfectly understandable that Niyosha would want to defend her friends and not tolerate mockery, but that’s also a really universal quality that doesn’t add much. Detailing how she handles such situations would give her actually specific qualities rather than leaving things vague.
Niyosha’s Backstory section contains a lot of good information, but I think it could be broken up into separate sections as well. I’d advise keeping the details on her being a half-giant, though they might be under it’s own specific category. While fantasy settings might use similar concepts, each fantasy world has its own unique cultures, histories, and contexts for individual species and having a specific heading that addresses the issues and impacts that being a half-giant has in the context of this universe would help explain what that means for Niyosha. What you’ve included already does that pretty well, though a bit more detail on giant society might help. Regarding Niyosha’s personal Backstory, I think there are some additional areas that could be covered. In particular her upbringing and her time at the Brewer Institute. As is I’ve only got a vague overview of her personal history and next to no context for Niyosha’s change from having extreme self-esteem issues to being social and popular. Stating that you’re ‘unable to go into detail’ runs counter to the point of a profile – it’s supposed to explain things like that. Detailing out Niyosha’s childhood, what brought her out of her shell (was it meeting her friends? A supportive family member? A teacher?), and how she gets along at the Brewer Institute would do a lot more to cement these factors as actual things that have shaped her life rather than just coming across as just a list of events.
Lastly, I’d suggest adding in a Relationships section. Given the nature of the story (a road trip among four friends) the specific contexts of their different relationships will be paramount to the narrative, and as is I know practically nothing about how Niyosha gets along with any of her friends. The only detail the profile gives me is that Fallon occasionally carries her with telekinesis when Niyosha needs the help. I don’t know anything about what they have in common, how they’re different, how they met, or how close Niyosha is to any of them in relation to her. I also know nothing about these unnamed 'associates’ that Niyosha hangs out with. Who are they? What do they do? How did Niyosha meet them? Similarly, the person she used her powers on and destroyed her self-esteem is just left as 'her relative.’ That would have a massive impact on her relationship with this family member. Who was it? From which side of the family (giant or human) did it come from? Did she ever trust this person again, or ever even talk with them about this? Context gives relationships actual impact, and so far the profile doesn’t really add much to Niyosha’s.
All in all, I think you’ve got a strong base here with Niyosha and the majority of the included details are good – they just need to be expanded upon further. Especially in-regards to adding in context clues. While general comments are great to get the broad gist across specifics are what make a character, well, specific.
I hope this helps!
