Everyone who was sleeping slept well.
It was not an overly long nap, but long enough for those those of them that had a very restful nap indeed. Jacob sneezed, a bug tickling his nose and woke him from his slumber.
Granny dozed still lightly under Koki's warm self.
The happy couple... well they were very happy.

Has anyone seen the episode “Mr.Monk and the Kid” from Monk (2005)?
Tumblr media
I hated that episode. It made me so angry. A little kid in the foster system finds a finger from a dead body while at the park. Since he’s the only witness, and his current foster home is under scrutiny, Monk offers to take him in. The thing is, they are so happy. They adore each other, and it's clear there isn't a thing Monk wouldn’t do for this kid, but everyone else is telling Monk, “no, you can't keep him; you’re too much of a mess yourself. You'd ruin this kid’s life.” To be clear, Monk has been great so far, actively pushing himself out of his comfort zone to keep the kid happy and safe,
Tumblr media
but since the kid is mirroring his behavior, as kids do, Monk cannot be allowed to keep this child he loves like a son. He is being pressured to give up his child because of his neurodivergentsy. Eventually, he gives in because he wants the kid to be happy, and everyone around him is telling him the only way for him to be happy is to let him go. That is so unimaginably cruel to me. To tell someone, they are too broken to be there for someone they love to the point where they believe you seem so hateful. I mean, talk about undermining someone’s rationality. It just hurts me so much because it's everything I'm afraid of when it comes to kids; my disability makes it impossible for me ever to hope to be a good parent. It's wrong; I know that, but it hurts me so much what happened to the two of them; that no one even realizes what they did was wrong.

Chicago Fire has now become like Station 19 for me. It took me months before I finished the last 2 episodes of S2 because of Lucas's funeral. I've only recently, within the last month, watched them. And watching Vic having to go through Lucas's funeral was hard. And just the fact that there was a need for a funeral was hard enough.
And now you're telling me I've got to go through it again with Chicago Fire (I've no idea if they're going to show his funeral....). WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME UNIVERSE. I can't believe this has happened to me again (3 times now, 3 TIMES).
I think I need to pause Chicago Fire for a while. It may take me months before I start watching it again, I don't know. I haven't completely given up on it yet, but I need to take a break away from it.
I'm glad they got to say they love each other, but I hate that he's gone now.
THIS FRICKING SUCKS.

You know what, frick you.
At Sal’s sentencing , the kids are there and only Aelita knows what’s going on. And Sal has to say goodbye to them.
W H Y
WHADDIDIDOOOO
Travis wouldn’t be able to handle the questions. He could only stand aside while Sal gets his last hugs in and has to refrain from promising something he can’t keep to the kids. Who would have thought a simple ‘see you later’ would hurt so much.
Aelita didn’t know what to believe. Her dad was hooked up to the machine she saw in movies. She didn’t like it! Glaring daggers at the prison guards that avoided the eyes of a distressed child. She couldn’t fathom her dad, the same one who would cry if she bumped her head on his work desk and smother the afflicted area in kisses until Papa pried her out of his arms.
She had to be the bigger sibling and pull her brother away. Or else the guards would and she was NOT going to let them touch her baby brother. Her papa was worse for ware. She could see the stress and hurt. She just couldn’t put a name on the emotions. What was she going to do if papa ended up like in the movies. The spouse that falls apart and dies of a broken heart. She can’t lose papa too. She doesn’t want to let dad go.
This is one of the few times where a young Aelita cries. She can’t be strong for papa and dad and danny. She can’t carry the burden of saving face. Crawling into Sals lap and screaming that he can’t leave. This outburst making the littlest of the two also start crying. More so confused and scared. Travis can only try to pull them off if Sal and hold back his tears as best he can.

The Calm in the Storm
TetsuJun, missing scene, established relationship | G, no warnings, words: 1k
Also on AO3.
A missing scene from Season 1, Episode 14 "Training Camp Begins!": Jun visits Tetsu at home on a rainy day before the start of training camp.
Jun stood on the corner, watching rain hit his umbrella.
The rain surprised him. It was June, typically the start of the rainy season, but it had only gotten hotter and hotter over the last few weeks as the height of summer grew near. The rain changed all of that in an instant, blocking out the heat, making everything significantly cooler. Jun wondered how long it would last and what condition the grounds would be in tomorrow for the start of training camp.
The light changed and he crossed the street, walking the familiar route from Seido to Tetsu's house.
It was midmorning but the clouds kept the sky dark, some of the streetlights still on in the neighborhood.
It didn't take long for Jun to arrive at the house. He shook out his umbrella and kicked off as much dirt from his shoes as he could before using Tetsu's house keys to let himself inside.
The Yuuki home was unusually dark and quiet. Every member of the family was an early riser by nature but the rain might have lulled them into staying in bed for a little while longer. Jun took off his shoes and put them away, in a spot among the shelves that was always noticeably empty. He put his umbrella down in the stand, draping his jacket over it just in case it had gotten wet.
A large, furry mass on the floor prevented him from going any further.
Jun knelt to pet Mamoru, the Yuuki family dog. Mamoru lifted his head slowly, yawning and turning into Jun scratching his ears.
"Hey, Mamoru. Were you waiting for me?" Jun asked. He tiptoed around Mamoru, patting his sides with both hands when Mamoru stood and stretched. "Come on. Let's go."
Mamoru followed Jun upstairs to the second floor. Jun was careful to be quiet, moving silently past Tetsu's parents' room at the top of the stairs. Tetsu's dad had just returned from two weeks in America – the international work trips were particularly tiring. Tetsu's room was past Masashi's at the end of the hall, at the front of the house. Jun slid the door open, letting Mamoru in and closing it quietly behind him.
He stopped to look around the dimly lit room.
A Tokyo Swallows branded duffle sat next to the door. Tetsu was already packed for his stay at the dorms during training camp. Jun returned his house keys, setting them down next to his phone in a small tray on Tetsu's desk. He smiled at the book left open on the desk, not schoolwork or baseball but shogi, highlighted and marked with notes in the margins in Tetsu's handwriting.
Mamoru pushed past him, moving to his bed on the floor next to Tetsu's. It was a sizable cushion for a sizable dog, the cover made out of fabric scraps and Tetsu's junior high school gym shirts. Mamoru circled over his bed twice, kneading the cushion with his paws before lying down in a round, nose to tail, as Jun had found him earlier.
Jun approached the bed. Tetsu slept soundly, unaware of his presence.
"Tetsu," he said gently. Tetsu stirred when Jun nudged his shoulder. "Move over."
Tetsu moved to make room for Jun, turning onto his side with his back to the wall. Jun joined him under the light bedding. It was easy to make himself comfortable in the soft warmth of Tetsu's bed. Jun settled next to him, sharing his pillow and draping one arm loosely over Tetsu's side.
"What time is it?" Tetsu asked without opening his eyes.
Jun didn't know for sure. "They were serving breakfast in the dining hall," he said, knowing that would give Tetsu a general idea.
Tetsu nodded. He eased closer, his hand curling up against Jun's chest.
"What are the others doing?"
"Nobody's doing much. It's raining." Jun moved closer, ducking his head. He felt Tetsu turn his face into his hair. "Tanba said something about pitching. Chris and Miyuki pulled some volunteers to practice situational plays with Sawamura and Furuya."
"Should we help with that?" Tetsu asked.
Jun closed his eyes for a moment. The first-year pitchers had a lot to learn – more people more accurately simulating the plays could only help. But with Chris in charge, it wasn't necessary.
More importantly, Jun didn't want to.
He knew it was selfish. He knew his role on the team, he knew Tetsu's, but he wanted to be selfish. Training camp started tomorrow and from then on it would be an unrelenting sprint until the end of summer. Tomorrow, Tetsu would be Seido's captain, the cleanup, their leader, their unwavering pillar of strength and Jun would stand beside him, ready to shoulder anything that might be too much or too heavy for Tetsu alone.
Today, they didn't have roles. Tetsu was just Tetsu and Jun was just Jun.
He wanted that for a little while longer.
"I think they got it," he said.
Tetsu made a soft sound of acknowledgement. He kissed Jun's hair when Jun tangled their hands together.
It felt like agreement, permission.
A pass to be selfish.
For a moment. For now.
The room fell quiet then, filled only with the steady sound of rain hitting the window and the occasional rumble of Mamoru snoring.
Jun spoke without knowing if Tetsu was asleep.
"Last training camp tomorrow." He sighed heavily, "It's going to be hell."
Tetsu's hand tightened in his. "But it'll be worth it."
Yeah," Jun said, squeezing Tetsu's hand in return. "When we go to Koshien."
Tetsu pulled back to look at Jun. Despite the air of sleepiness softening his features, the fire that defined Tetsu burned bright in his eyes.
"When we win," he said, full sincerity.
Jun laughed. He had to. It was startled out of him by the strength of Tetsu's conviction – Jun didn't know if he would ever get used to it. He felt himself grin, too wide and too bright for a dreary rainy day, Tetsu's fire engulfing the tinder of his soul.
"When we win," Jun agreed.
Tetsu smiled, closing any distance left between them. He kissed Jun's forehead and Jun kissed his cheek before they found each other, Tetsu's hand coming up to Jun's face as Jun wrapped his arm around Tetsu's waist. They traded kisses and laughter until they drew Mamoru's attention and he jumped up onto the bed to join them.
They both knew that winning Koshien was an unprecedented feat. Seido hadn't set foot in the stadium in six years. Even earning their spot, winning their way through the West Tokyo qualifiers was going to be a battle.
One that started tomorrow.
For a moment. For now.
They could dream.
