does anyone else ever think abt ai no uta. the song released in tandem with pikmin 1, and included as an easter egg in pikmin 2, sung from the pikmins pov about how they are aware of and embrace their own mortality, how disposable each pikmin is, how they'll follow their captain to the death even if the captain doesn't care for them. #pikmin really is such a unique series #the first one is like. extremely aware of and comfortable with death #the pikmin tend to get the cute + marketable treatment but make no mistake they know that they'll die and they're okay with that #between ai no uta being the pikmin saying 'we would die for you and we don't care if you don't love us back' but also the 30 day time limit #+ bringing the enemies corpses back to make more pikmin #the pikmin series is about nature. right. and nature is equal parts beautiful and grisly #there's beauty in death. your pikmin died but because they died you're a little closer to surviving #your pikmin died fighting that giant but now they can take it back and create more pikmin out of it #and so many people go in thinking it's a cutesy kids game with goofy character and creature design #I think you're meant to wonder what the pikmin would do if you died #and if you have a dandori issue you get to find out that yes they do take your dying body back to their onion #but you don't get consumed. you get a leaf. you become a pikmin #and you have to wonder why they brought you back. did they know it would save you? did it save you because they love you? #does the onion know what you did for them and pay you back out of kindness? or is it because it knows you're the key to survival #cutting myself off here because this post really got away from me #something about love and mortality #espeon cries #analysis

If you prefer the newer seasons of ninjago over the older seasons (pilot-s5/s7) we are fundamentally different people

#kind of a neutral statement #s8 and s9 get excused to an extend but i will not for forgive them for garma/don #s6 and s7 aren't that amazing to me but they get a pass bc at least they feel like they're about the same characters as the prev seasons #and similair with 8 and 9 except yeah..... this is where it starts...... #s11+ means little to me in regards to characters. sure they have some cool stuff and the stories are neat (i love s12 SOO much for example) #but. yeah it's what i call the cardboard treatment because most characters especially when they're not the focus feel like - #- cardboard cutout versions of themselves #guys isn't zane so funny because he's a robot hahaha! what a source of comedy that is so in character! /s #and i'm not gonna say that i hate the new seasons cause that's not true #i bawled my fucking eyes out at s15 #but it's. kind of a different show to me and the characters often feel off. #also some recurring things that i'm sooooo annoyed at sigh ugh ugh ugh #also they start this thing around s6 where for some reason the police is involved?? #and the explorer's club pls fucking DIE #it's fine if you like the chicken also man but holy crap this is just NOT for me at all #the older seasons were many times more charming and if you disagree then - well we simply have differenzt tastes #which is fine #but my god it's something i do need to point out #i didn't actually mean to ramble so much but yeah......... #one of my favorite examples is the reduction of jay's and zane's characters to goofy guy and robot smart guy #the taking jay's inventing skills is the most insane thing they have done to date and they openly admit this this is literally a thing #they really only cared about tropes and archetypes at this point even though this is simply NOT where ninjago shines #i feel like someone might unfollow mr for this but you literally don't have to #it's all fine! just feel like saying this every now and then because ninjago is one of the shows that have been THE most special in my life #forgot the / for ninja/go oh wel l sorry #the reasons i like this show lie in the early seasons and not the later ones

Just finished Season 2 of Tiger&Bunny, and while I think I prefer the first season better, I did get some new skrunklies. So I can't complain TOO much...

I have, however, figured out my biggest gripe with season 2. And thats Kotetsu. Specifically, with how they drew him and the absolute lack of goofy Kotetsu Content.

A big part of the charm of Kotetsu is he's a Goofy destructive DILF who means well. And I'm all for him looking pretty as a treat but :((( Where is the goofy dad man :(((((

#Tiger&Bunny 2 #I did enjoy Tiger&Bunny2. I have a few gripes but at the end of the day this is one of my favorite series and it holds a special place #Do I think this is how I hoped things would go? Nah. But I'm happy with some of the outcomes anyway #For one? Jhon & JhonJhon. Loved seeing content of them. FireSky is also great. I love them so much #And the skrunklies? *Holds Thomas and Subaru gentle* They're just so :DDDDDD #And can we talk about Karina & Ryan? I love them. They're so fun. And the fandom is also so fun with the Ryan and Karina content. <333 #Origami and Bison was a fun duo of people to see #My favorite thing was just seeing everyone interact. That was my highlight. #And the art for some bits were so pretty and fluid and stuff!!! But it made me wish that other scenes had just half the effort put into it #The Yuri Episode happened and I joked to my mom that they spent the entire budget on Yuri being pretty[Which is fair] #But some scenes felt static. Particularly with Kotetsu? He's not as animated in this season and it really shows #He just feels off in those scenes when he looks off into the distance pretty and thoughtfully. #But it doesn't feel like I'm watching Kotetsu :( #Where is my goofy expressions :((( #His classic goofy and outlandish bodylanguage? #Where are the vibes? :(((( #There were multiple times where I looked at Kotetsu hoping and thinking he would have more emotion in his face. #Multiple times I had pixtured the expressions myself #even if they were just slight #A crease of a brow #the slant of his eyes #Perhaps his mouth being pushing into a tense shape. #Something :((( #Okay some other tags now sorry for all that ^^' #I Rant About Stuff #(I guess?) #kotetsu t. kaburagi
