Alright!! I updated my pinned post and shuffled my primaries around: Vox and Val made it on the top list, Toshi and Zero are demoted for the moment. Stolas came in as a secondary, but Octavia was added to my kiddos, and the Slasher Orphanage is up with the primaries!!!

I also updated my blog's content warnings, so this is a reminder to go and check that out: it lists warnings by selfship, so you can block the tags if you need to!

Watcher fans sure are entitled and a little insane, ngl. "No one is going to sign up for your service! We're all poor! You've made the worst decision, and you'll be back in no time!" Saying this directly to the creators really reminds you of how low the respect for people you don't personally know has gone. I miss the forth wall between creator and audience.

I get and fully understand not having the money to support them, but... Watcher does have fans with money. A lot of them actually. They have merch sales. Their live tour sells out most venues. They have thousands of supporters on Patreon, where the cheapest tier is $5. They're able to gauge the rough finances of their staunchest supporters; that's how they landed on the subscription price. Yes, this move will reduce their viewership in sheer numbers, but to say all of their fans are broke and none will follow/support is factually incorrect.

It may not be a decision everyone agrees with, but severing the limitations of advertisers and youtube in favor of artistic freedom is a good thing. Yes, even if it comes with a loss of revenue. They understand that risk.

Also, I'm begging people to stop treating this like "another Netflix" or something and instead look at it as, "I am supporting a creator I like, similar to Patreon." They literally said in the video that they don't care if you share accounts. Get five friends, and you'll pay $1/mo.

I hate feeling compelled to rant in favor of their decision because I have my own reservations about whether it's the best move. However, I know it's not a choice they made lightly, and I like to think they understand that they'll need to branch out like crazy to entice subscribers.

#Sailor Moon #descriptions in alt text #the visual design of the first season really was something #in my heart I feel like it's not Sailor Moon yet bc it was still finding its feet but that also allowed it to be more experimental #I don't think it's better or worse because while I do enjoy the novelty of earlier episodes #they also don't feel like Sailor Moon episodes. A lot of them feel like another show with SM characters randomly in them #which is not a good thing necessarily but they're so interesting it's also not a bad thing. It's just a thing #which you don't really see as often with current anime #you can just really see how they were kind of taking a gamble with Sailor Moon and testing the waters to see what angles would do well #I think it started to understand its actual target audience at around the Rainbow Crystals arc and shifted focus there #which is also when Jupes arrived so the team dynamic really started to take hold & the true appeal of it as a Magical Girl codifier emerged #ANYWAY it was just interesting to note that while Sailor Moon could consistently achieve moodiness and tension visually #the WAYS they achieved that were pretty different in the first half of classic compared to any other season #HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! BLEEHHH!!!

Will Amanda become a Guardian, I assume!

I don't think so. I don't think it would serve any purpose. Her story came to an end; we learned all we needed to learn about her and she went out the way she lived and for what she believed in. There's also nothing really pointing to her being that relevant to bring back. Like, purely from a technical standpoint; they removed her as a vendor and gave her a send-off, complete with her entire backstory. Making her a Guardian would just be making a new character with her model, but new. I can't see them doing that.

One thing that I also feel like people are forgetting, somehow, is that if she becomes a Guardian, she will not be Amanda. Like, that will be a new character. Nothing she's done before will matter. Crow and Savathun were exceptions central to the story to go forward so they had exceptional stories where they got their memories back. Amanda simply is not. She died and even if she becomes a Guardian, there's no more Amanda. It would be a blank slate. No matter what, all of her conflicts and relationships are over.

I just don't think we need a blank slate New Light Guardian right now or that Bungie would keep her in the game like this currently. I think this season was centered on wrapping up stuff about her, giving her a full scope of the backstory and basically letting us say goodbye. It does not read like a setup for a new Guardian.

Obviously, Bungie could have something extraordinary planned out that we can't possibly guess and that would make Amanda returning as a Guardian really compelling. Who knows! Maybe this is something that will happen down the line. As in, after this saga ends and some new story in the setting begins!

But right now? Until the saga ends? I just do not think Amanda as a Guardian is a storyline that needs to be told while we're scrambling to wrap up loose ends before The Final Shape. She was a human face to the war and a victim of it, something to remind us about our mortality and the fact that we're not invincible. Despite Guardians and all our powers, we are fighting for people who are mortal and fragile and those people also have the right to defend their home. Amanda took that very seriously and helped a lot of people, but ultimately at the cost of her own life.

Bringing her back could offer some potential stories, absolutely, depending on how you want to take things in the future. But overall, I just think it's not likely for her to be planned to return as a Guardian, at least not within the scope of the current story. Of course we can't really know what's in store, but from what we do know (lore-wise and meta-wise), the likelihood of this happening is very low.

helloooo :3 i have this lil idea that i’m kinda (absolutely) too lazy to write myself but i saw ur interested in adding to jack/harper and so i wanted to give this to you :)

concepts: chuck won, jackharper, jack-centric with harper pov, samwena on the side optional but envisioned in my mind

plot: harper tracks jack down post 15x19/15x20 (your choice, i’ve gone back and forth) OR to the bunker and meets sam (and dean if you’re going with post 15x19) and thinks Something Is Wrong when jack isn’t there. so she starts doing some magic and investigating. of course she originally wanted to kill and zombify him but… when she finds him she realizes he is Not the man she was obsessed with. which makes her quite pissed and curious because how could he change so fast?

rough aspects: a redemption arc that doesn’t start out with that intent, witchcraft and bonding with / life lessons from rowena, more on her past, hunting down jack, her wanting a family and companionship but going about it in the wrong way, harper using her innocent looking face to her advantage

side note: in my head she’s covered in blood or using bones in her craft in the opening scene to mirror rowena’s entry.

just an idea in case u ever get bored and want her to be a lil feral for bad -> good reasons. I hope this was at least fun to think about!

Oh boy! My first ask on this blog and it's about my new obsession that I'm currently spiralling over! Hurray! I'm so very into the Chuck won theory. I know some people get personally offended by it, but I think it really changes the whole vibe of finale for the better, because it effectively turns it into a horror show, especially for Jack.

I would LOVE to see Harper team up with Rowena (I may or may not have something in the words regarding this), and try and rescue their boys.

Also, the whole Harper using her innocent/beauty to her advantage while also being a total agent of chaos, carrying around scrying bones, graveyard dirt, virgin blood, and possibly a skull from someone who may or may not have been her ex-boyfriend. Feral, scary, unhinged, all while being pretty, feminine and flashing her thousand kilowatt smile like, "who me?;)" I LIVE FOR IT. I also really dig the idea of her not accepting that Jack became God, like "ummmm so he said he's *everywhere* now? in every drop of dust or whatever? Lame. he's supposed to come with me to the farmers market tomorrow, not be *everywhere*. I gotta talk to him."

And then immediately recognizes that this Jack is not her Jack. Galaxy brain or no, this is someone pretending to be Jack.

Ahhhh I love it. How ironic that it would be Harper potentially saving everyone just because she's like "hmmmmm no, no one tries to kill my boyfriend except me, got it?:)"

i need to post about palestine on facebook but i'm fucking terrified

i love flash edits especially when it's literally just typing the flash out on a new document over and over again to feel the rhythm of all it together and each time you change or add single words at a time because each time you type it out there's one new sentence that now feels off and it feels like an infected wound spreading all over the piece 😍

#for me the hardest edit round for a flash piece is a Rhythm Edit #where i just focus on how the sentences flow #i think this is a good thing to consider with all writing but i think it plays such a big role in flash #to the point where i actually study poetry to understand it better LOL #but also my hot take is poetry will teach you sooooo much about prose. poetry and prose arent separate binaries they're literally making ou #parts of the lover boy first chapter have me feeling like an archaeologist discovering the bones of a poem tbh #if i make and publish a lover boy poem out of that....yeah....anyway tangent over #im currently self conscious because i have a flash submitted thats 900+ words and im thinking oughhh it shouldve had another rhythm edit

I'm working on my next oc set rn (as always) and this one is going to be the first, like, trinary guild to have more than 8 characters on account of twins sharing a spot lol

#they're actually replacing a different character i felt didn't really work well lol #my concern so far is to not design every single character to have a blue color scheme since they're naval themed #I'll have to like work around it for some. some blue as highlights maybe #shades of green or ourple #at least one character will have a red and orange color scheme and I don't want them to stand out too much also #I'll figure it out lol #anyway the secondary guilds have 10 characters. and the knights have 14. obvs the main one has the most at 31 #i feel like you can assume theres more members of those guilds beyond what i show. theyre just not all as relevant lol #bc having 30+ for a side side guild would be sort of pointless and detract more than add #but a lot of them are big guilds so. i think you can assume theres more than 8 that just happen to pop up around the main characters lol #also anyone who wants to play with ocs like dolls could make their own characters for those side guilds and it will not mess w the story #even come up w relationships to other characters and say we just dont see them for the same reasons. not relevant to the main bunch #bc even tho i have a lot of fun w the more gimmicky side characters focusing on them too much would take away from the main guys #thats part of why they have to be gimmicky to stand out too. not as much focus to give them like detailed backstories and hypothetical arcs #so you get the gist of them based on what their Thing is and they can stand out w that #like i dont want them to be too intrusive. but i want them to have character!#not just bland extras and all. if they were i wouldnt keep drawing these sets for them #i have too much fun designing them to do that!#anyway after this current set (cobalt heart) ill only have 2 left #and one of them is actually on the smaller side! the timber scouts only have 5 characters #w similar outfits so they shouldnt take as long i think? also 4 of them are children #then is tartarus which will probably take longer but im really stoked for them #especially pluto. and deimos and phobos and juliet (dumbass duo and their fucking babysitter)#i also have some solo characters i wanna do too #i for sure have to do the royals . and some historical characters maybe #but i want atlas to be the last one i draw. my insane guy who tried to claw his own eyes out because he saw it #i wonder what the next phase will be after i finish everyone tho

#I'm going out to dinner tonight with 2 friends that I used to work with many years ago #they're both lawyers #i always end up being friends with the lawyers #my brain definitely always needs to balance my creative work with non creative #and the legal and contracting stuff often provides a bit of a break for me #whereas most of my co-workers absolutely hate it and are scared and baffled by it #ANYWAY -#both my friends got out of media law #so we have no work connection at all #and we're just mates #and this is a last minute hang #but a beautifully timed one #because it's a timely reminder that no matter how stressful and weird my job is and whether i end up leaving my current role or whatevs #what matters is that I've made so many good friends over the years and those friendships are not remotely dependent on our work #the job losses and chaos and uncertainty in the industry i work in are due to hollywood greed and wall street brutality #and it's wreaking havoc on ordinary workers lives #and I'm not underplaying that #but i need to focus on the fact that the friendships that matter are the ones that will last regardless
