BYAKUYA TOGAMI - finds it disgusting and insufferable

"not another one of these peasants... and an indifferent one? hell."

you? indifferent? wow. worse person to be handicapped around.

at first he'd give you the stank-eye. he'd treat you the same as he treats everyone: like a peasant under him.

but oh no. hell will break loose when he finds out you're indifferent.

he'd be such a drama queen, never wanting to be in the same room as you, scooting away, making a face whenever you were around.

byakuya would treat your autism like the plague.

he is in his most annoying era whenever toko annoys him, making sarcastic remarks and comments here and there.

though once you manage to befriend him or i guess tame him like some beast, he'd stop with the bratty ass behavior. maybe not with the distancing himself and leaving the room shenanigans, but still.

whenever he found you annoying (which is most of the time) he'd just pretend he doesn't care or hear, walk away or recommend you go annoy naegi or kirigiri.

one upside is you could basically ask him for money to buy stim toys, weighted blankets or sensory stuff and he'd just say "take it" and throw a thick, fat wad of cash at you.

MONDO OOWADA - finds himself relating to you

"don't think of yourself like that, s/o. i like you most when you're you."

yeah... even though he's the leader of japan's most popular biker gang, he has his number of his own insecurities and struggles.

one is he was and still is, never able to properly socialize with people, that being the reason why he's always so loud and interrupts everyone.

reverse comfort

he's not embarrassed of you, he's embarrassed of himself.

you always have to comfort him when he finds himself in third or second place.

you and scented candles are his emotional support.

sometimes he'd randomly scare you by picking you up from behind.

need not fear, he also does the same thing to ishimaru, in fact he does it more to kiyotaka than you.

if you're cold he'd lend you his jacket.

MAKOTO NAEGI - would find positivity and hope in it

"come on... it's not your fault. plus, it made you who you are right now, it made you you, and i love that."

whenever you're down, makoto would make up stupid stories to try and get you to crack. [ you can decide whether or not s/o ends up laughing at his stories or not ]

as well as dumb stuff that's happened to him due to his 'luck', like him losing his sock and never finding it.

he'd let you ruffle and mess up his hair, also warning you about his ahoge so you don't stab yourself.

sometimes when he has nightmares he'd knock on your door and ask if he could stay for a bit.

in the morning though you won't have to run to the lunch hall, because well, you'll find your breakfast sitting on your bedside table alongside some juice or milk.

whenever you do crazy things, makoto would just watch nervously and would only interfere when you're about to get hurt.

also he likes to stargaze with you at midnight when everyone's asleep.

KIYOTAKA ISHIMARU - worries about you, yet supports you.

"as long as you don't run in the halls or scream like mondo- you'll remain my closest friend!"

sometimes he'd unintentionally throw in a sarcastic or dramatic remark, but that's just him, and you know that.

usually when you're hyper active to the point where you can't eat on your own, he takes it as his own responsibility to feed you manually (and make sure you don't starve to death)

he'd always start off the day with a greeting and how your day went.

since he's asked so many people that, he can tell when you're lying, and would ask what's wrong.

persistent bby

rarely you warn him about mondo picking his ass up, since you find it hilarious.

however you two always have each others' backs.

CHIHIRO FUJISAKI - relates to you on the same level

"don't worry- if i go, alter ego will stay with you till you go too, and then we'll be reunited! right s/o...?"

aside from mondo, you'd be the second person he'd tell his secret to. he knows he can trust you with it, especially when he isn't ready for the world's criticism.

whenever his day was just a horrible one in general, he knows he can come to you for comfort.

before going to bed you both make each other hot chocolates.

you'd lend chihiro some of your clothes whenever he'd decide his confidence level for that day.

if you can't beat a level on a game, just ask chihiro, he'll work his cheating magic.

when your craziness kicks in, you'll insist and persist he hacks into somebody's account to invade their privacy. (you can choose who)

LEON KUWATA - would try to understand your disability

"i don't know what the heck you're doing, but i like where it's going, s/o."

75% of the time he doesn't know what you're doing, but goes along with it.

you'd always be cheering the loudest in the audience at his baseball matches.

he'd be appreciative of your craziness and impulsive actions most of the time.

like you managing to break a vending machine and get like 10 energy drinks for the price of 1.

but sometimes he'll be really confuse and just leave you be... and by that i mean ditch you like the dick he is.

you'll have to navigate your way back.

once you do find him, you'll grab his shoulders from behind, making him scream like a little girl.

SAYAKA MAIZONO - finds it unique and supports you

"don't say that! you're waayy more special than the them!"

honestly she'd think it makes you unique from the others.

in fact, you guys would discuss about song lyrics and she'd take a lot of inspiration from you and your tales.

overall sayaka wouldn't mind whenever you let your heart out, she enjoys hearing your voice.

she's too embarrassed to admit that, though.

if you have long hair, she'd braid and mess around with it, also letting you mess with hers since she really likes your touch.

if you ever needed help with falling asleep soundly, sayaka would offer to sing you a song or a lullaby, as well as learn the lyrics to your favorite song after that night as backup.

pls- she'd be so patient with you. if you were ever mad, she'd leave you be to cool down. if you were upset or scared she'd hold and hug you, telling you everything will be okay. she'd listen to you vent your heart out.

she spends more time in your room chattering with you rather than her own room sitting miserably on a table rocking her brain back and fourth thinking of catchy song lyrics.

AOI ASAHINA - finds you even more adorable

asahina would treat you like her baby.

her and sakura will defend you with their life, especially from mondo and byakuya. they're getting their asses beaten if they dared mess with you.

whenever you guys meet up for the day she'd give you a daily head pat and compliment like "oh my goshh you look cuter than before!"

she'd also get you stim toys and other stuff to distract yourself with incase she was busy with a competition or training with sakura.

if you really wanted, aoi would also teach you to swim.

also would chase you just to ruffle your hair.

CELESTIA LUDENBURG - doesn't care about it

"as long as it isn't infectious, you can have all the time and tea you want with and from me."

oh you were disabled? she didn't even notice.

celeste wouldn't give a flying fuck about it.

it's more of if you piss her off or not. if you don't, you can have tea with her, if you do... well, she'd either send you to kyoko or act like a less dramatic togami.

most of the time celeste would listen to whatever you had to say, or pretend she was listening and constantly nod her head.

she'd be hesitant to let you around grand bois chéri (her cat), so you'd have to try your hardest to prove to her you won't injure or let chéri get injured in your care.

other than that celeste would treat you like any other person.

if you get too out of hand for her though, she'd get you some sensory or stim toys to keep you busy from annoying her.

KYOKO KIRIGIRI - would be supportive of you no matter what

"who cares about what the others say? you're perfect the way you are, s/o."

sometimes in her free time, she'd follow you around, most of the time just to make sure you're alright.

lets you review cases with her, just to keep your mind fresh and active, perhaps one day you'll impress and blow her mind by solving a mystery even she couldn't crack.

even though she'd be embarrassed, shy or not wanting to, she'd join in your activities if you invited her to, such as dancing or singing.

though she'd never share hers, she'd always ask about you and your feelings.

is very persistent, and would secretly and anonymously send you little gifts from time to time like a secret admirer.

JUNKO ENOSHIMA - would be inquisitive and criticize

"oh my gosh, so you just move out of nowhere? couldn't imagine me like that, SO glad i'm not you."

has no idea and knowledge about disabilities and stuff.

she's worse than togami.

she'd always humiliate and embarrass you in front of people to cause despair

but she'd always find herself crawling back to you.

it's annoying, and she likes that. it brings her so much self-inflicted despair

uses you as an insult, especially towards mukuro and kamukura.

"you guys are WORSE than s/o, so much more annoying, no wonder s/o's spirit is brighter than your guys' futures."

when she isn't in such a despair-ful mood, instead of embarrassing you in public, she'd just grab your hand and lightly squeeze it, all while obnoxiously insulting her sister.

since she's an uncultured swine, she'd either let you squeeze, hug and cry to a monokuma bot or let mukuro deal with you.

SAKURA OGAMI - would be supportive and encourages you

"if you lift your chin up you'll see the path hope has created for you, s/o."

usually you'd watch her work out and bring and make her protein shakes whenever asahina was training.

she'd make sure you're good and healthy, both physically and mentally.

if you also wanted to train and work out with her, she'd offer to make you a healthy drink afterwards.

you two always have fun making smoothies and salads with funny drawings and faces made of tomatoes and onions after work out sessions.

would let you style her hair into ridiculous sights.

whenever you guys were in a meeting or assembly, you, asahina and sakura would crack jokes and giggle together.

both of you have this special greeting where you jump and high-five, most of the time sakura just stands with her hand up though.

TOKO FUKAWA - pretends to find you insufferable but relates to you

"i g-guess freaks talk to f-freaks, don't they...?"

at first she'd try to act like togami around you. avoiding you and giving you the "ew" look.

but later on she'd find herself warming up to you and doing small little affectionate tasks like bringing you a glass of water.

goes by the "if i do this for you, you will do this for me" sorta thing.

so she fetches you that glass of water (even if you didn't ask for it), you'll have to get her a glass of water or juice too next time.

sometimes you'd also help her chase byakuya, just for fun, and a way to relieve your anxieties.

you guys may or may not get too crazy and start a food fight, targetting each other and byakuya.

you both cower away when it comes to social interactions

BONUSES ;; TENKO CHABASHIRA & MIKAN TSUMIKI

TENKO CHABASHIRA - becomes more overprotective of you

"i have to defend you from the degenerate males, stay behind me, s/o!"

whenever anyone, especially the guys, approaches you, she'd jump into action and scare them away.

if you wanna talk to anyone of your guy friends, you'll have to distract her or send her away.

you two would toss small snacks into each others' mouth such as gummies or little candies and make a game of it. never hard candy though, since you guys don't wanna injure each other.

if any guy harassed you, they are going to the afterlife once tenko finds out.

you both do crazy things such as destroying a vending machine just to steal it's contents without paying.

she'd also invite you to watch himiko do magic tricks, but no guys allowed, okay?

since sometimes you can be really clueless and naive, tenko scans the place to look for any guys or suspicious people and hesitates to leave you alone to either run an errand, check on yumeno or use the bathroom.

also, whenever you're using the bathroom, tenko stands outside the toilet door, guarding it with her arms crossed and legs spread.

MIKAN TSUMIKI - worries more about you and becomes more clingy

"s/o! w-what happened?! who did this- or-or did you fall? eek! i'm sorry!"

would occasionally check on you and knock on your room door to a point where it gets sorta creepy and annoying.

you'll have to tell her that you're fine, and you won't die within' 10 seconds when she's off elsewhere.

well since you do tend to do crazy things beyond your control, she knows you're gonna get hurt eventually.

and you do.

when you get injured or hurt, you won't have to head to her office, since well... the nurse will come to you automatically.

though she'd be crying, fearing you were going to die or something dramatic.

"i'm so sorry s/o!! i should've ran quicker- don't leave me!!"

if it is serious and you end up blacking out, somebody else would have to give you medical attention since mikan would be sulking in the bathroom, washing her face over and over again.

she's touch-starved, but is always too shy and scared to ask for hugs.

whenever you guys are in assembly, she'll hold your hand and squeeze it. she relaxes herself knowing you're there, right next to her.

Danganronpa Rarepair Week 2023 Day 7: Minigame Interaction/Post-Game

I just... really like post-game no matter what game it is, so have three arts to end this rarepair week off!

THH [based off of the anime designs]: No matter what happens on a mission, Hina would always be there with band-aids and a big smile, and it never failed to warm Kyoko’s heart.

SDR2 [my own personal post-game designs]: After so long working with the Neo World Program, Hajime and Kazuichi were starting to lose hope, but they kept working. The determination to bring back their lost friends was strong, and when it finally happened, the joy was indescribable.

V3 [this is just their canon designs but in sleepwear]: It was hard not to have night terrors after what they had experienced, but they knew that they always had each other to lean on for comfort.

And that’s a wrap for my participation in rarepair week 2023! I had so much fun, and if this goes on again next year, I am definitely participating again! Thank you so much to @dr-rarepair-week-blog for hosting this lovely week and letting me share some of the pairs closest to my heart!

SCREAMS GROWLS CRIES I heart ishida and alter ego. Considering Kiyotaka and Chihiro are constantly paired up in official art with mondo it's really too bad that there's not many canonical ties between the two of them! I like to fill that gap with ideas as often as possible (and I have MANY of those). To kinda build off your post you just reblogged, I love the idea of this leading into Kiyotaka healing, but I'm also incredibly interested in the complete opposite happening where nothing really changes and Alter Ego is constantly masquerading as Mondo without ever really stopping. Ishida just continues to correct her until the idea of her getting things wrong just feels like a normal process. Even after alter ego dies again and comes back through a different form Ishida lets the cycle continue. I think he would start to view his relationship with the future foundation and the other thh survivors as an "us against them" situation, to the point where things get so bad that he just straight up runs off with Alter Ego entirely. I don't know if the survivors get their memories back but in the case that they do and it requires some kind of treatment, Ishida just lives his life not getting that treatment, and at some point his well of knowledge regarding Mondo is gonna run dry with nothing more to correct Alter Ego with, and it results in her algorithmically replicating a version of Mondo that's so much different than the real one. It's a version of him that is simultaneously flawless but also a complete yes-man to Ishida that agrees with eveything he has to say. And Ishida is going to take that agreement seriously, because to him, Mondo is never wrong about anything. This paired with whatever else Ishida may be doing while the literal apocalypse is going on has SO much potential to me.

WAIT THIS IS SO INTERESTING TO THINK ABOUT.

I’m too much of a wuss to deviate from the “Taka gets to heal and eventually learns better ways to cope with Mondo’s death” outcome from Ishida, but there’s also so much room for him to succumb to downfall. (At least, a better downfall than what we actually got.)

The idea of Ishida being so stubborn and so determined to convince himself that Alter Ego Mondo could be like the real one that he never really does have that reality check is so… I don’t know. disturbing and sad? but in the best way. He feels like this computer ai is the only one who really cares about him because everyone else barely paid attention to him after the second trial. So he in turn only cares about alter ego to the point that it’s more self-destructive than it is healing.

And it’s so sad to think about because the good memories Mondo had left behind are now replaced with what Ishida has convinced himself COULD BE Mondo.

Also, depending on when Ishida leaves with Alter Ego, couldn’t that have some real detrimental consequences? Doesn’t Alter Ego play some significant role in the second game? Which then plays some significant role on the rest of the series? I’d imagine that there would be this big search for Ishida in hopes of finding Alter Ego because the the other survivors need her. And the endless possibilities of what Ishida could be doing out on his own and with absolutely nothing left to lose except for the one thing everyone’s trying to take from him.

God, there’s so many thoughts starting to formulate, this is so interesting. For better or for worse, there’s so many directions Ishida could’ve gone in story-wise.

Kaede commenting about Makoto being experienced as a brother made me think how this is typical Kaede problem-solving, she took the initiative to confront Masaru, but asked Makoto for help,

she knows when someone can handle a situation better than her and is open to inviting them to the conversation, but still has to take the lead and stays involved instead of letting Makoto deal with it on his own

so Makoto is a "complete newbie" when it comes to online games, huh. Chiaki offering to teach him was kinda cute

Kyoko interaction so marriedcore, they're gonna investigate together "We can each see things the other might not ;)", Makoto's flipping through reactions and she's just giving him that little smile the whole time

they didn't find anything and she still said it wasn't wasted time, oh they're not giving up on the investigation yet, but still, they spend the whole afternoon together and then the next event also starts with her

it's honestly a little funny how he's making nervous expressions so much while she's mostly smiling, even making that closed-eyes very content face, I don't remember Kyoko smiling this much in thh

Tsumgi waging psychological warfare on Makoto for fun

out of his Potential of Talent options I have to say, I didn't even expect Sayaka to be there, but I ended up liking this one the most, it was interesting, also what was that with him telling Komaru he hasn't told their parents about his plans, I thought he was a good boy

ugh, Makoto has more events than others, it's the longest compilation, glad I started with it, it would be a pain to go through later when I'll lose my enthusiasm

It takes so long bc I am taking notes, I am fucking studying everything they're saying, taking it seriously, I am on a 7th page of notes and just getting into Hiroko & Kokichi event

When she said "Let's hear Kokichi out" never ever have a single sentence meant so much to me, I love her for that, this is so groundbreaking to me, if I were in his shoes I'd tear up but I am a weaker bitch with the same issues so

both of the fake origin stories he has here have him already in the area of the academy as a baby, that's really interesting, is it implying that he has no past prior to attending if so, is it a message to them not to pry or his feeling, was he raised there, what (screaming)

a little weird choice for Makoto to have so many events and then in several he's just sorta there for exposure, like, that's so very protagonist of him to be present during interesting situations so we can see them, adding nothing to them,

in Kyoko & Shuichi and Hiroko & Kokichi events it's super clear he's just there as a side dish, and in his event with Togami they just *subtly* explain to us who did what for a barbecue despite not being interested Togami entertains him long enough for Naegi to say what he has to

Junko's event was weird, guess I have to do her events next to try to understand, she said she's bored of her old shtick and that she wants an exciting, unpredictable future. When Makoto said she'll be fine, she called him a bad judge of character, but that's wrong, he was just

thinking of the other Junko he knows, it's not his fault or a bad judgement. I am thinking of the moment when she looked happy at the prospect of that hopeful future he believes she has, the deadpan reaction is delayed like it caught up to her that he's talking about

Mukuro, not her. At the beginning of their interaction he makes a comment he already told Mukuro, Junko has a wildly different reaction, then she shares that she has no hope and he reassures her, she smiles and then he brings up knowing her for 3 years, she gets angry

not saying that's exactly what happens, just trying to wrap my head around it, my theory is that she thought he knew he was talking to a different person, so she was disappointed when she realized he was talking as a Mukuro's friend and not as an ult hope giving even her a chance

I was also trying to guess why Komaeda was making that face in Makoto's "My Future" and all I came up with are those two scraps: 1)Makoto acted in a way he didn't expect, he's disappointed because he doesn't understand Makoto's hope?

2) he's jealous of what the other luckster is able to achieve? He said that luck is a lame talent, he never saw it as equal to others, but turns out it isn't as much of a setback for Makoto as it is for him and the other is still able to reach high in a way he wouldn't dare to

I am not one of the Komaeda specialists tho, so I'll leave figuring it out to them, my brain is too small and my heart even smaller and already filled with Kokichi, I am not gonna give myself a headache over this, have fun

somehow Gundham ended up answering some existential question he had just by talking at Makoto (we don't learn what)

he let Makoto pet the Devas in gratitude (offered their "blessing")

second event: Kaede Akamatsu & Masaru Daimon

walked in on Kaede scolding Masaru for sleeping at the music venue

turns out she asked Makoto for help, he checked on other kids off-screen, they were in their rooms

WoH remind him of his sister so he's concerned for them and can't ignore them

Masaru taking their worries as trying to control him

did WoH really have a fight? It looks like they guessed right, judging Masaru's face

Komaru locked herself in a closet once

"intervening will only make him rebel more"

both Kaede quotes, I guess this scenario shows her personality well, she took the initiative, but relied on somebody who she believed was experienced to assist her

so Makoto is investigating the island himself, something with the mysterious photo that probably wasn't taken by Mahiru herself since she "doesn't remember taking it" AND Kyoko offers to investigate together

those two are so marriedcore idc

she looks so pleased to spend time with him, while he's constantly making some nervous expressions

If the THH survivors or the DR2 survivors were in the V3 chapter 6 trial with Tsumugi, do you think they'd be able to come to the same conclusion of how to "win" as Shuichi, or would they lose

I think that's hard to define, because I think each of them would find different win conditions actually?

Makoto would focus on getting out of the game first, getting to safety, rallying people to get them all out, sure it's a hope victory but he wouldn't take any sacrifice or let anyone else take it, forcing the game's hand. From there Makoto would work to take down the games from the outside. If skills transfer, Togami would be VERY useful for this. Makoto would not find himself too damaged by the whole "its all fiction" thing he'd definitely give a very heartfelt speech about how he can still feel his heartbeat, he can feel the breeze, and if that's not life, what is? How he was born wasn't matter, it's how he uses that life!

Hajime straight up does not care about stopping the games, he just cares about getting to make his own choices and drop the script. He throws the script in Tsumugi's face and says he's done going by it, if they keep them here, because he isn't letting any of them sacrifice, he'll destroy it from the inside out. Whether or not the games stop is second to Hajime finally getting to make a true choice in his life and saying "NO I'm a goddamn person and if you keep us in here I WILL NEVER conform to your so called script again" the game itself is secondary. Sure he doesn't like the games and would be vocally against them, but his first priority is PERSONAL freedom.

but i guess i'd say that i like Junko as a villain because you can read her as just this person who does horrible things for no reason other than entertainment, just a classic threatening force in the characters' way. But if you want a more complex villain you can also look deeper into her and figure out she's basically hated life since she was young because her talent makes her bored with everything, and pain, of others, but also her own, is the only thing that makes life worth living for her (as well as the whole thing with Ryoko and all). And that in itself is pretty tragic, but unlike some villains her tragic backstory isn't used as an excuse for her actions, and you aren't meant to sympathise with her, you're meant to go like "wow Junko that's very sad i feel a little bad, now go get crushed i hate you". So she can be both a classic "pure evil for barely any reason" villain, but she can also be one whose story makes you sad. But some people only see either one side or the other, so they complain about how they don't like villains who are evil just for the sake of it, or that they don't like how "every villain has to have a tragic reason for their actions these days". But i feel like she's kinda both at the same time.

More DR thoughts

Im almost done with sdr2 and I think I like the first game better by a slim margin. Thh was just so clear, concise, and well rounded with its themes, symbolism, plot, and motifs. It just felt like a complete story on its own with an obvious thesis: keep moving forward

Sdr2 though... While I think the individual characters and character arcs are probably better, it was just kind of all over the place with the themes. It bit off a lot, and chewed it up pretty well, but the complexity of the themes, especially with characters like Nagito, made it difficult to follow and garner a conclusive message like the first game.

I do think there is somewhat of a thesis that was best said by Fuyuhiko at the end of 2-2 when he says "I never wanted a tool. I just wanted you... Only you!" There's this theme throughout the game of our societal or preconceived conditions getting, as well as our own fears and weaknesses getting in the way of human connection. Chiaki wants to love and care for the others even though her entire existence is an imposter. Fuyuhiko let his cautious and standoffish nature from connecting with others at first. Gundham plays his whole supreme overlord of ice thing to drive people away.

Which is why Nagito is such a great Junko parallel: he stands for everything the game is against. He's obsessed with his ideology that dictates both his and his place in this world. It drives him so far that he hurts others he claims to love, and he brutally hurts himself (both literally and psychologically), and he refuses to acknowledge his worth to others. Because of all of this, he's soul crushingly lonely and desperate for attention, which eventually turned into pure malice towards people who wouldn't accept him. It's the opposite of losing your inhibitions and loving others, and it's the opposite of hope and love.

Okay so continued from this ask about Kyoko

Anyways, as introduced in THH, Kyoko is an extremely distant person with an iron mask, which intimidates everyone around her.

Everytime she happens to be described, she is described as something akin to a ghost aka not someone belonging to this world because of how ethereal her presence is.

She was moulded (read: traumatized) by her grandpa to become a detective to the extent that she was desperate to prove herself to him to not get kicked out like her father (she was also manipulated into believing that her father left because he didn't care about her by said grandpa) since her grandpa was...well the only one who had showed her a proper modicum of love at that point.

Her family took being a detective as something involving an extreme amount of honour which resulted in her trauma.

She also... didn't know what she was apart from a "perfect Detective" and was terrified of that internally (she has a LOT of parallels with Nagito which is why I REALLY want them to team up atleast ONCE likedanganronpaIambeggingyou), since she felt like an empty husk due to repressing her emotions since forever.

Because that's how a true detective should be (...it's really scary how MUCH she fits my own ideal of a detective), operating by cold hard logic to uncover the truth from the messy web of lies and make it known. A detective was to not take sides, nor aspire for fame (coughSherlockHolmescough), they must always remain neutral and not let personal feelings or prejudices come into the way, and she followed that.

Now, in the first game (I assume it was the worst for her since all she knew about herself was simply that she's a detective), everyone loses their memories of their school life with each other, leading them to believe that they had just met. They all remember their Ultimate Talents (heads up: An Ultimate Talent is something that you must be the very best at in your particular field in your age group. If you are like that, then Hope's Peak Academy personally scouts you and you are invited to attend the school as an "Ultimate"), apart from Kyoko.

Yeah, she quite possibly forgot that she was a detective, or atleast she forgot that she was the Ultimate of it, nevertheless, the main source of her self confidence and rigidity was lost to vague memory, which I believe caused her closed off ness to be more exaggerated, since I believe she was TERRIFIED. Imagine the one thing you stake your identity on....which you end up forgetting.

Throughout the game, she basically carries the class trials by herself and is virtually the only reason the six survivors are actually survivors.

However due to her upbringing, she has another issue which happens to be...

....severe trust issues. She has been told not to trust anyone and considering that they are in a literal KILLING GAME, you really can't blame her.

However, this leads to her downfall.

In Chapter 3, she disappears since she has presumably found a secret passage in the bathroom which she was investigating along with the school to find the secret of the Killing Game and the mastermind. She refuses to trust her classmates and shoulders the entire responsibility onto herself, since she desperately wants to uncover the truth....

.....her motto which she has been clinging onto for dear life, underneath all the turmoil.

Makoto (our sweet sweet protagonist, the nicest person ever in Danganronpa) notices this and gently tells her that she can rely on him....that she doesn't have to shoulder everything by herself. He doesn't act pushy, he just tells her that it's okay for her to trust people since she literally looked dazed when she came back in Chapter 3, and she goes,

"Okay, I will give this trusting people thing a try."

She then trusts him with the secret of the bathroom hidden passage but he ends up getting attacked and in bed. F.

Anyways, that causes him to become the target of the mastermind.

Now Kyoko, apparently due to her training is capable of hearing "Reaper's footsteps" aka she can "hear" when her or someone she really loves's death is close.

Now, when Makoto nearly gets killed by the mastermind, Kyoko hears it and fights them off. The mastermind had been planning to kill Makoto and frame her as his killer which she realised so she stays at his room until she's sure the danger has passed.

Anyways, she obviously leaves and then the rest of the classmates discover a dead body whose mask they try to take off but it explodes and Makoto notices that they are dressed the same way as his attacker was. Kyoko arrives way late which makes him wonder whether she had killed that person or not.

Fast forward to the trial where she says that it's now or never for her.

Anyways.

What we have to remember about Kyoko is her MAIN motivation aka solving the mystery. She wouldn't hesitate to make sacrifices to get to it. She is dedicated to her job.

[We also have to remember that she spent her life travelling from place to place, always shifting schools, causing a lack of proper attachments. The only attachment she had was her grandpa until she met Yui Samidare who dies pretty soon during a case via self sacrifice for Kyoko in a way. During all this, her motto and her dedication to it were the only constants].

Anyways.

The mastermind attempted to frame Kyoko for that particular dead body, but Kyoko manipulated the whole trial and framed Makoto as the culprit instead to save her own life.

Makoto gets sent to the execution but doesn't die since his Ultimate Luck talent saves him and he gets thrown into a trash dumpster.

Kyoko comes to save him and apologises. A small sign of trust since she literally never does that. Makoto was virtually the only one she trusted since despite her frosty exterior, he tried to get to know her, but didn't push and just gave her space......and said trust in her backfired and caused him to nearly die but anyways—.

At that point, Kyoko has remembered her Ultimate Talent (Ultimate Detective) and she trusts Makoto with that. She further trusts Makoto with telling him about her frustrations against her father. She didn't even admit them to herself until much much later.....and she trusts him enough to say that.....

....maybe because of how easily he forgave her but eh—

Anyways, she finds her father's skeleton in a nice little box, gift wrapped and everything which causes her to lose her composure ever so slightly and Makoto leaves to give her space to collect herself.

Even though the first game was essentially Hope VS Despair, it was also about Trust.

Since if you do not trust in the feeling of Hope, you will fall into despair.

Something we can see with Kirigiri in a way.

Kyoko being a detective is possibly the best way to broach the topic of trust, since lies and truth are directly connected to it.

If you are truthful with someone, then that usually means that you trust them.

Kyoko's motto was to remain neutral and without biases which caused her to actually develop a bias, nearly getting her best friend killed.

She wanted to solve the mystery and uncover the truth, however she also realised that without trusting others with some modicum of the truth, she wouldn't be able to do so.

When she arrives at the very end of Goodbye Despair in the 6th trial, it's nice to see her relationship with trust having grown enough to give the Remnants a second chance by trusting that they would be able to find the core truth inside themselves to break free from the lies crafted by the mastermind's brainwashing.

Hajime finds his own truth and decides to go "fuck this, I will make my OWN future" due to this.

[She ALSO finds out that her father was involved in Hajime's inhumane brainwashing which probably just destroyed her last bit of trust towards Hope's Peak Academy but eh].

In DR3, when she holds Naegi's hand with her ungloved burnt hands, it's a symbol of HOW much her trust has grown in order for her to bare her wounds like this to reach to him and pull him out of his own despair.

In conclusion: She's the best person ever and deserves the world

Aoi Asahina:

Animal(s): Fish

When you first tell her you want to adopt, she thinks you’re talking about a human kid, so she freaks out

You were not, however, and when you tell her that you were talking about an animal, she somehow gets even more excited

She starts talking about all of the different species and how cool each one is, going back and forth, trying to decide which one would be cooler to have

Somewhere along the way, she gets the idea that adopting a literal shark would be a good idea

You quickly shut that down, suggesting something a bit more... manageable? affordable? obtainable? instead

Reluctantly, she agrees to starting out with a simple goldfish

Later that month, you stop by the pet store to look at all the fish available

Having done a bit of research prior to the visit, you decided on a couple of common goldfish (Aoi wanted more than one, and you figured it would be easy enough to take care of two)

After purchasing the fish, and all of the accessories that you need to purchase with it, you do a bit more research on how to take care of a pet fish

When you get home, you help Aoi set up their new tank, filling it with gravel and other accessories you had bought, moving them into it while following the instructions you read online

I feel like she’d want the fish to swim with her, which you’d then have to explain to her that you can’t put your pet goldfish in a pool because they would die

She would then suggest that you get a bigger tank so she can sit in there with them, but you’re able to talk her out of it, thankfully

While she may be a little dense at times, she’s still a very good pet owner

Celestia Ludenberg:

Animal(s): Grand Bois Chéri Ludenberg (her canon pet cat)

So this is basically just you taking care of him because yeah

Ok so like,, you know how Celeste treats her cat like a god?

Yeah, so do you

You literally pamper this cat so much

He refuses to eat dry cat food, and he expects his meals at exactly the same time (he’ll throw a fit if they’re even a millisecond late)

Normally, you and Celeste take turns feeding him

He won’t sleep in any bed if either you or Celeste aren’t in it, and you had to buy one of those step ladders for dogs to put at the edge so he can climb up because he’s too lazy to jump

If you go even twenty minutes without giving him affection, he’ll either walk up and start hissing at you, or he’ll just ignore you the rest of the day

He likes the room temperature to remain at exactly 70 degrees, and he won’t accept anything above or below that

Overall, he’s very high maintenance, but it’s worth it in the end

Both you and Celestia love the cat very much

Toko Fukawa:

I’m pretty sure she has a pet bug

Okay, so,,

Kameko Fukawa

When you’re first introduced to Kameko, Toko’s nearest and dearest friend, you’re not really sure how to react?

Of course, you’re not going to judge Toko because of it, you’re just?? shocked??

You love the small bug regardless, and you help take care of her whenever you can, even just keeping her company sometimes

When Toko informs you that she was thinking about getting a friend for Kameko so that she wouldn’t be as lonely, you help her find one

Surprisingly, your local pet shop happened to have a small variety of insects for purchase

After asking which type the pet store worker would recommend, you finally decided

Excitedly, you introduced Kameko to her new friend and though you couldn’t really tell, she seemed happy to have someone new to interact with

Genocider Syo:

Animal(s): Bugs

Oh God why would you trust her with any type of living being?

You have to keep a very close eye on the two bugs to make sure that she doesn’t lose them or anything

She’d probably be very careless with them, and the last thing you want is for them to be lost, injured or killed

Even though she doesn’t really bother to take care of them, she still cares for them, but she’d never admit it

She’d probably talk to them when nobody else is around (which is rare, considering the fact that you don’t really trust her), telling them all about the events of her day

She cares for both bugs more than she’d ever admit

Junko Enoshima:

Animal(s): Bichon Frise (Dog)

Yet another person who should never be trusted with a living being

You’re hesitant to adopt any kind of animal, knowing how careless Junko can be

After a long disagreement, you finally decide to visit multiple pet stores before making your decision

In the end, you decide on a bichon frise

Junko pays for most of the supplies, but you end up having to take care of the dog mostly by yourself

You take her on walks, feed her, take her to all of her vet appointments, etc.

You also have to make sure that Junko doesn’t try to harm the dog to feel dEspAir

Though she makes several attempts, you always manage to stop her in the end

Just,, never leave them alone together, maybe?

Kyoko Kirigiri:

Animal(s): African Grey Parrot

Kyoko didn’t really have much of an opinion on getting a pet, so when you ask her, she’s indifferent

She wouldn’t care what type of pet it is, she just wants to make sure that you’re able to take care of it properly

After a few weeks of contemplating, you decide on an African Grey Parrot

You already had a bit of experience with taking care of birds, so you figured it would be a good idea to get something you had handled before

At first, Kyoko acts mostly uninterested in the bird

Of course she helps you feed them, clean their cage, etc.

She’ll even talk to them on a very rare occasion, asking them questions she knows they can’t answer out of boredom

As time goes by, she slowly becomes more and more attached to the feathered creature

She even suggests getting them a friend to hang out with so they don’t feel lonely when you’re both gone, even though she rarely leaves them alone

Mukuro Ikusaba:

Animal(s): Wolf

Mukuro has wanted a pet wolf for as long as she can remember

She didn’t care what breed it was, she just wanted it to be a wolf

So, when you asked her how she felt about getting a pet, that’s what she suggested

Yes, she understood how difficult it would be to not only get a wolf, but also to care for one

However, it was all worth it in her eyes

Reluctantly, you agreed to looking into it, at the bare minimum

Once you had enough money (which Junko was willing to lend you hoping that the wolf would eventually attack you both or something), and you had found somewhere you could purchase them from, you finally got your new pet

Mukuro spent hours each day caring for and training your canine, preparing it for treatment in the wild if that’s where it ended up again

She also felt that it would be a good idea to use the animal as a sort of guard?

If anything were to happen to her, she would expect that they take care of you and keep you safe

Since Mukuro is used to very harsh training, she sometimes ended up overworking the wolf

You’d notice this, and you would ask her to go a little easier on the creature

Of course she didn’t notice that she was putting them through so much, and she made an attempt to control herself a bit

She doesn’t want to end up hurting them, and she’s a little afraid that she will one day

Sakura Ogami:

Animal(s): Rabbit

Sakura had been thinking about getting a pet, so she decided to approach you about it

When she had asked you about it, you said it was a nice idea, and you helped her decide on what type of pet to adopt

Almost immediately, the two of you had decided on a rabbit

Sakura was rather fond of them, as they never seemed scared when she held them

So you sought out to find a shelter to adopt one from

The second you laid eyes on your pet, both you and Sakura fell in love with them

You knew that they were definitely the one, there wasn't a doubt in your mind

The small mammal would sit by you and Sakura and watch her prepare her protein shakes, train, etc.

Sakura would make sure that your rabbit has a very healthy diet, and that they drink lots of water so they can be strong

Sometimes, when you and Sakura aren’t available, you would have Aoi babysit them

After watching the bunny the first time, she would ask if she could do it again frequently

Sayaka Maizono:

Animal(s): Sugar Gliders

Sayaka calls you to tell you that she’s coming back home from being on tour and that she has a surprise

When she walks through the door with a pair of sugar gliders, you are both shocked and ecstatic

She tells you that one of her friends is moving into an apartment that doesn’t allow pets, so they asked her if she could take care of them for her

They had nobody else to go to, so she said yes

You were still a little bit worried about it, but she reassured you that she had watched them before, and that she knew how to take care of them

She makes sure to tell you how to take care of them, and she makes sure that you’re comfortable looking after them by yourself while she’s away

hello !! aaa thank you so much for this august and i'm sorry in advance because this got,,, so so long. but this isn't a bother at all and i was really really excited to write about this actually !! thank you!!

these all take place in the main au I use, which is sort of canon compliant? I’m not really sure how to explain it but these moments are meant to sort of fit in with the storyline of thh in some way. they should sort of make sense on their own though ^^;;

1 )

aya finds chihiro having a panic attack in the kitchen…while also kind of having a panic attack.

this happens right after everyone is shown their motivation videos, so there’s ample reason to be panicking at this point ;;;

this is the first time they interact beyond their introductions, so everything is a bit awkward but they try their best to calm the other down!! somewhere along the line they succeed and decide to try and de-stress by baking something for everyone together and venting about their anxieties.

the importance of this moment lies in how aya and chihiro’s dynamic in thh is a bit odd at first; because in reality, them falling in love was very much a close friends/lovers slow burn. it happened throughout the first few years of attending hope’s peak together.

but after they lose their memory of being together and are essentially strangers, the trust and comfort level they had around each other is still unconsciously there somehow and strangely, they both get the sense that they have met before!!

it’s SO confusing to them ;; neither of them are the type to easily make connections and both take a very long time to open up and be truly comfortable around others. they’re completely perplexed as to why they’re suddenly ok with sharing their deepest insecurities and biggest secrets to someone that they think they’ve only known for about a week.

the baking session is almost like a catch-up because after this event, they become close so quickly and share so much more about themselves than they would ever normally reveal.

it gets to the point that when one of them just somehow ‘knows’ something or remembers a preference that was never shared, they don’t even question it until they learn the truth.

this one is adapted from chihiro’s first free time event (sorry makoto)

aya notices that something is bothering chihiro and asks them if something happened, prompting them to tell her about the mosquito and that the bite hurts a lot.

she tells them that they might have something that could help and produce a first aid kit with a medication inside. cue very soft taking care of an injury (I guess?) scene !! chihiro asks them why they even had the kit. aya tells them about how her siblings were very daring, so she got into the habit of carrying one around to help if they got hurt and that she’s pretty careless too, so it comes in handy!! it kind of hints at something aya is dealing w/ as well, but that's kind of a sensitive topic to go into.

they note that most of the bandages are gone and remark about finding somewhere to replenish it. the rest of the conversation is mostly them talking about their families to each other and where in the school a mosquito could have possibly resided!! (aya is so excited at the prospect of a garden, but they're both more excited that it could mean a possible way out!

3 )

aya was pretty distressed from the beginning of the game, but everything gets very bad after the first class trial. it starts to become very noticeable that they are Not Doing Ok.

at some point they end up missing role call and so some of the class nervously goes her dorm, really hoping that aya hasn’t become the 4th victim.

they haven’t!! it turns out that they just kind of had a breakdown. she admits that they haven’t been able to sleep for days, so they spaced out and thought it was still nighttime.

which is very concerning because she’s exhausted and scared to leave their dorm because they’ll be punished if they fall asleep somewhere else. chihiro says they’ve had trouble too, then very very shyly suggests that they share a dorm the same way sakura and aoi do. aya says yes, but she’s not really sure if it will help so at first they mostly hang out. ^^

aya asks them a bit about coding because they like listening to chihiro happily explain what they’re doing on their computer and she’s trying to pay attention but soon aya just kind of,,, softly falls asleep on them.

they feel safe enough to rest around chihiro but they can’t place why and honestly? she’s way too tired to care.

chihiro is surprised for a moment but eventually they fall asleep too and they take a long nap together. they wake up profusely blushing and apologizing but very happy that the other finally got some rest :)

this event sort of marks the beginning of the relationship in thh! they keep it secret, but it’s clear to the others that they became pretty inseparable once they started sharing a dorm.

Been a long while since I’ve written some good angst! Enjoy!

THH Spoilers

It was late at night, but you didn't really care. All that you could hope was that Ishimaru would answer the door before you got caught after curfew.

You can only hear silence on the other side...which was understandable considering what transpired a few days ago.

The first execution, with Leon, left you in utter shock and grief--though after another killing and another execution, you've come to accept this would be your new reality: someone will murder somebody, get caught, and ultimately be executed until...

You shook your head to clear the thought. This sick “game” isn't what you should be focused on right now. 

It should be Ishimaru.

You knocked on the door. "Hey, Ishimaru? It's me. Can I come in? I....I just wanna see you."

There was still total silence, but before you could try again, the door opened slightly and you saw the Ultimate Moral Compass student; his sunken, puffy red eyes stared at you. "...y-you know you..should be asleep," he murmured, voice shaky. It was the first thing he has said in days.

"So should you, but...I don't think either of us can do that after what happened." You pointed out.

Ishimaru didn't say a word, but knew you were right and knew he wasn’t gonna be left alone, so he allowed you to come in. He quickly shut the door before anyone else could notice what was going on.

When you sat on the bed, he joined you. And that's when you could see how truly broken he was. He definitely wasn't eating nor sleeping, but he was certainly crying a lot.

You couldn’t blame him. Losing Mondo, who was like a brother to him, completely crushed his spirit. Everyone else seemed to move on but him.

You sighed quietly, unsure of how to start the difficult conversation. But you needed to say something. Anything to get him to talk more. "I...I wish things didn't turn out the way they did in that trial-"

"It should've been me."

"....what? But there's...there was no proof you did it." You reminded him gently. "I know you didn't want him dying but...he confessed. He owned up to his mistake. You...would've wanted the truth to come out."

"But...but not like that!!" Tears began to stream down Ishimaru's face. "I should've been the one to die!! Not him!! HE DIDN’T DESERVE TO BE TAKEN FROM ME!!" He started to scream, though when felt a hand on his back, he paused and look at you. "S-Sorry...I..I know you're right next to me.."

"It’s fine, I understand. But...why did you vote yourself?”

“.....I...I couldn’t convince myself it was him..”

“Ishi-”

"I just..w-wanted him to walk free and live his life!" He sobbed. "I know it’s wrong but...we could've already been out of this nightmare! I was willing to pay that price!! If our deaths gave him a chance at redemption then-”

But he paused as he noticed your hurt expression, the realization of his words sinking in. “I-I’m sorry..” He closed his eyes, lips quivering. “That’s..so selfish of me to say. I made such a stupid, selfish decision that could’ve gotten all of us executed...” He covered his face with his hands. "Stupid, stupid, stupid! I deserve to be alone for the stupid, selfish idiot that I am!"

"Hey, don't mimic Leon now. You're not stupid for caring about someone so much." You decided to bring him into a hug. "And no one deserves to be alone, especially not you."

Having become close friends with him, you knew he wouldn't mind it. After all, it's what he needed most. Sure--some of the others checked on him, though he’d never let any of them get as close as you did.

Except, obviously....the one who was now gone forever.

Ishimaru did not hesitate to return the hug, now fully in tears like he was during and after the trial. "It's just not fair!! What did any of us do to deserve this torture?!" He wailed.

"Nothing in this game is fair anymore." You held him close, letting him sob into your shoulder. “This school is a literal hell..for all of us.”

"I-I...I'd give anything to see him again. Anything."

"I know.."

But as you comforted your dear friend, little did you realize that sooner or later....

He would get his wish.

makoto naegi pseudo-analysis

okay. quick heads up:

1. the way i perceive characters isn’t universal, same with the way i write them, but for the sake of having this make sense i’m going to sound pretty matter-of-fact. because otherwise it’ll be hard to read thru.

2. i don’t remember much of dr1, and i don’t think a ton about makoto. i should, and i want to, but y’know. also this isn’t an all encompassing look into his character, which is why it’s a pseudo-analysis. it’s honestly pretty poorly written. but. yknow. i tried. 

3. i promise to stop mentioning this, but, worth saying: i have a lot of difficulty expressing opinions for reason im uncertain of. i hope this isn’t, like, controversial in any way? i’m just getting my thoughts out, and hoping i dont get killed for it.

now, onto makoto.

as a start, i think that makoto is a really remarkable character because of a sort of... tactical nuance? he is an interesting take on an “average joe” character, following the strict formula of a perfect protagonist while also playing into the archetype of being just your normal high schooler, who becomes this epic hero. and the way that these two aspects coexist is really interesting.

makoto, as a person, has pretty “standard” protagonist traits. he’s sympathetic (not empathetic, which i’ll touch on... eventually), he’s brave, he’s selfless, he’s persistent, he’s a little bit awkward and a little too trusting, but it sort of sorts out for him. and i think one thing i personally see in him, and really like about him, is that this sort of character trait cluster, if you will, has realistic consequences? if that makes sense?

because, like, you are presented with this person who bears a smile. put through hell, put through everything, (as someone i cannot recall off the top of my head once stated, being put through neglect by his writers themselves) and he’s still smiling. but i think that when you look just a bit deeper, there’s a lot there? a lot of resentment. a lot of hatred. a lot of guilt.

someone who was given the entire world to shove onto their still-adolescent shoulders, someone who has to defy the organization that intends to rid the world of the very thing that almost killed you, that did kill so fucking many, because he believes in a higher kind of hope than the one they discuss. someone who is brave, who has put his neck on the line a thousand separate times-- still smiling, still the ultimate hope-- and this idolized figure of relentless hope (who doesn’t feel anything negative, because he still smiles and only cries twice ever in canotical history, correct me if i’m wrong), and... that’s a lot to put on a person who never really got to be a teenager, right?

and that’s where resentment kicks in.

all the people who accused him, who left him to die when they couldn’t persist in the same way he always had (because why can’t they persist like him? why can’t they lose their entire world, and forgive in the end?), doesn’t he hate them? and this is the stuff that makes me tick, so apologizes for going really deep into it, but isn’t that something that must be so intrisically present? for fuck’s sake, the entire future foundation, most of the class of 78 (because they’re all traitors, in a sense, with all the killing and the decision to lead him to the bottom of that garbage chute, and still he forgave) the remnants of despair that he still wants to save (and his argument with hinata at the end, though i don’t remember clearly, just think about it), and himself. himself!

he’s this average teenager with the world on his shoulders, who lost this, a sort of metaphorical prometheus (but perceived as hardly interesting enough to foster this role), this repetitive martyr, the perfect protagonist-- and he keeps failing, despite his persistence, despite his hope. sometimes i think about, like, how little negative emotion he shows. doesn’t he hate himself, in some sort of way? he was lucky enough to be the perfect person to be the ultimate hope, but not lucky enough to prevent it all in the first place. and there’s the loathing. that’s where it hits.

he’s this incredible human being, sympathetic through it all (but not empathetic, because he doesn’t feel what they go through. he understands it, and he cares-- god, does he care-- but he doesn’t feel it in himself. if he did, he’d be despairing from the start.) and forgiving, but also resentful-- and he must hate it! shouldn’t he be able to take it? shouldn’t he take all the hits, as he always has done, without resenting the people he would rather die than lose (again)?

as a sort of tldr: he’s a sympathetic, heroic martyr, a perfect protagonist, and yet there is endless layers of resentment, written into his very skin, and. yeah. yeah.

(worth saying, i think the dude is smart. i think he’s clever. i don’t necessarily think he’s the most clever protagonist-- all of them have different sorts of smart to them-- but i do think he’s a smart fucker. and i don’t think he’s necessarily childish. i think, after a point, he got mature. 

he’s just idealistic. idealistic, and optimistic (because he can’t dip into nihilism, because what will the world do then?) and sometimes, it makes him out to be a child. but i really don’t think he is. he has childish thoughts in thh, and he still has a boyish quality to him, but he’s been through it. he’s roughened up, as a person.

does he even recognize himself?)

Starter for all

You were sure that nobody was around when you took the knife but you couldn't be more wrong.

More than that it was your boyfriend of all people so obviously enough he got worried but didn't approach you just yet.

But when you pointed a knife on your chest you heard someone yell...

Ryoma Hoshi

"DON'T DO THIS!" were his words as you looked at him. Both of you were terrified at this point.

Still he managed to collect himself enough to speak up "S/O put the knife away... We still can talk this out" you were hesitant but you still didn't listen.

"Listen to me please... You can't die here I won't let you. Just put the knife down and talk to me please" after few seconds you dropped the knife on the ground.

Then you collapsed and started crying. After putting the knife out of your reach Ryoma was beside you.

You told him how horrible you had felt and the reasons why you wanted to end it and Ryoma couldn't understand you better.

His words were honest as he tried to give you an advice. It was your first conversation like this. Maybe it was because he had never suspected to see you trying to kill yourself? Who may know honestly.

After you were calm he promised himself to often check on you in case you felt even slightly close to what you felt this night.

Gundham Tanaka

"CEASE YOUR ACTION!" his voice was even louder than usual wich scared you and because of that you dropped the knife. It almost landed on your feet but you dodged it.

After the sound of knife falling there was no noise the two of you looked at one another for few seconds but it felt much longer than it actually was.

When he took a step forward you took a step back but before you knew it he was hugging you closely. Perhaps he teleported or you were just so cut out from reality that you didn't notice him coming even closer.

"My dear... What had brought you to attempt such action as taking your own life?" his voice was now calm but you could feel his fast heartbeat.

You tried to explain it to him he listened to you and didn't interrupt before you were finished.

"I see... Next time my dark goddess I beg of you let me know about your suffering and damn me if I won't be able to save you from it" he pulled you away from the hug and the two of you looked at each other. His face showed very determined expression.

It was safe to say that he was there for you and he allways will be.

Kiyotaka Ishimaru

"S/O!? WHY?" as you heard your name being called out you saw Kiyotaka tearing up as he was looking at you with shock.

You didn't answer. Being caught like this you couldn't bring yourself to face him.

Thinking he was disappointed in you you started feeling guilt and despair. Your breathing wasn't steady as you started feeling everything collapsing.

You bottled up everything for too long and when you finally were going to end it you were stopped. You became dizzy while various of thoughts rushed across your mind and before you knew it you were on the ground knife still in your hand.

It was his chance so he slowly approached you and when he was close enough he took the knife you gently held and put it away from you.

He was asking you again why whould you try to do something like this. You knew why but you didn't wanted to say it.

"I understand it might be difficult to say but S/O I can't help you when I don't know what your problem is. Whatever it is I will help you I promise" you tried to give him an answer you really did but you just couldn't.

He was allways patient with you but he just couldn't understand why you refused to respond.

So he started saying how much you mean to him. He told you how strong and amazing you were and he couldn't bring himself to even think what whould happen if he didn't stop you there.

It managed to help you come back to reality and when you teared up he asked if something else was wrong.

You told him that he was right that you shouldn't give up just now and you apologized to him for this incident.

Gonta Gokuhara

"NOOOOOO!" you turned your head just to see Gonta with tears in his eyes.

Upon seeing him you panicked and put the knife away just like you were trying to hide your attempted suicide.

"Why... Why whould you try to do this S/O?" his voice was heartbreaking.

You said that he whouldn't understand it and his response was simple "Then help Gonta understand it. I know that Gonta's not very smart but it is Gonta's role to support S/O! Even if it whould be something the smartest people whouldn't understand Gonta whould keep trying!"

You felt guilty for your words and Gonta could see regret in your eyes. He apologized for yelling as he hugged you saying how he just couldn't afford to lose you now or ever.

He told you more about how he wanted to help with whatever you were struggling with. Gonta thought his most important role was to protect you and that precious smile of yours.

Chihiro Fujisaki

"S-STOP IT PLEASE!" stuttering he ran towards you and smacked the knife away from your hand. He acted without thinking and was super lucky it landed far away.

You looked at him in surprise as he cried and hugged you "I'm so glad I made it just in time".

You could feel tears rolling down your cheeks aswell but your face didn't show any expression nor did you say anything.

"Why didn't you say anything? Why did you think that this was the best option!?" the embrace got slightly tighter.

You kept it short since you didn't see the point in lying at this point.

"I... I had no idea... I'm so sorry S/O I should have seen that you were hurting!" he admitted "But you can't give up no matter what. I know it might sound selfish but you are far too important for me and I just can't think of my life without you in it! The very thought of it..." he didn't finish his thought but you knew where it was coming.

Chihiro however wasn't done he kept saying how strong you were. He tried to help you out of your state by showing you his support and admiration.

"S/O!?" his eyes widen in shock upon seeing what you were about to do wich you didn't blame him for honesty.

Obviously enough he asked for your reasons he was very concerned and tried desperately to talk this out with you.

You thought you might as well say some excuse... But it didn't matter... Nothing matters.

You admitted to him that you couldn't take it anymore that you just wanted everything to stop explaining what you recently have gone through.

And he couldn't belive that he didn't knew nor noticed any of this and apologized to you for it.

But he didn't stop there "S/O even though I don't understand how you feel and probably never will... I just want to let you know that there never will be a reason for you to kill yourself since even if the worst thing possible whould be to happen you are stronger than that and you always can cut through it and even if somehow you whouldn't be able to... I'll be there to help" he stayed calm and acted differently than when he saw you at first. Perhaps since there wasn't any danger he managed to be more collected on the matter.

If his words didn't convince you he kept trying until he was sure that you knew that you had him on his side and that he whould help you in any way possible.

Fujuhiko Kuzuryu

"I WON'T LET YOU-!" he was by your side before you know it as he took the knife from you tossing it aside not caring where it landed.

He then held both of your hands trying to hold back his tears as he yelled "S/O why!?" he sounded angry but you knew him well enough that it was out of shock mixed with worry and confusion.

Still you told yourself that he was angry at you and you apologized wich confused him even more "Why are you apologizing? None of this is your damn fault you know" this time his voice was a bit more quiet.

"Look I have no idea why someone as amazing as you whould do something like this and I have no idea how to react so if you thought I am mad at you it's not the case" he paused "Just please tell me what's wrong I don't want to just stand and do nothing while you suffer" he was getting desperate and you couldn't ignore him.

So you quickly said what was the issue. You didn't go much into detail but it was hard for you to say all those things that destroyed you completely.

Now he was mad. Not at you but at himself he couldn't belive that you were going through hell and he didn't know about any of this.

He swore to you that he will do whatever it takes to help you with your problems.

After all you were the love of his life and he was super close to losing you he won't take any risks that next time it might actually happen.

Nekomaru Nidai

"WHAT!?" after you turned around after hearing his voice he felt like his body moved on his own. He took that knife away from you and placed it somewhere else fast.

He was pretty careless accidentally ended up with a small cut but he didn't notice it. Now he was fully focused on you.

"Did you... Really tried to do it?" he said not believing what he just had witnessed. You didn't knew what to say honestly. Were you supposed to admit? Or were you supposed to come up with excuse of some sorts?

You felt lost and couldn't even try to say anything at this point wich caused Nekomaru to worry even further "I understand it might be difficult for you to talk about it and I won't force you to say anything..." he paused "But if I can help you with anything let me know. In the meantime I'll do whatever it takes to make you feel happy again!" saying it with more enthusiasm Nekomaru hugged you quite tightly.

Leon Kuwata

"WHAT THE-... S/O?!" he instantly ran towards you and took that knife from you.

He was rather fast and you didn't even realize you didn't had that knife in your hand.

You refused to look at him as he had both of his hands on your shoulders. His arms were trembling.

"Look at me please" you could hear that he tried to remain calm but did awfully bad job at doing so.

You did as he asked but you didn't say anything so he spoke up yet again "Tell me why!? Why whould you do that!?" he sounded angry even though he was just worried and rather scared.

Your silence was breaking his heart "Dammit S/O I beg you... Please cooperate with me" you could see him slowly tearing up "You mean a lot to me you know. Just please tell me what pushed you to this state that's all I ask for"

He thought that he was a horrible boyfriend but now it wasn't the time to think of himself you were the most important now.

"Whatever your reasons are I'm sure that together we can overcome it. I promise you just please don't ever try to end your life" he put his hand on your cheek.

Your mind was racing back and forth but in the end you agreed to accept his help.

"You have no idea how glad I am" he hugged you tightly.

Kaito Momota

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" he couldn't belive his eyes but he immediately took action. He took the knife away from you. He threw it carelessly away but nothing bad happened.

Himself he didn't knew what he was even doing he acted but didn't think. All he wanted to do was to save you.

He hugged you and you felt his fast heartbeat he held you close like he whould never let go "God I never thought you whould scare me like this... Why didn't you tell me anything?"

He sighed to himself "Well I guess now I shouldn't be asking you anything. For now let's focus on everything but that since you probably don't want to talk about it"

You didn't expect him to react like this but it was quite nice that he tried to understand.

The two of you continued talking (whether you wanted to say what brought you to attempting such a thing or not).

He promised you to help you out whatever your problem was and you knew him enough to know that he fully meant it.

Shuichi Saihara

"S/O NO!" you turned your head and saw him. His face expression was mixed and you were surprised by his sudden appearance in general.

It made you drop the knife on accident but luckily it landed on the ground and not your feet.

He was surprised by it and ran towards you "S-S/O! Are you okay!?" he said checking if you had any injuries.

But you stopped him and told him that no harm was done... At least to your body at the moment.

As he looked up he saw despair in your eyes. Of course he knew what you were trying to do the 'checkup' was just to make sure you did no harm to yourself.

In general he noticed that you were acting a little bit differently but he just didn't expect this to happen.

Honestly he didn't knew what exactly you felt at the moment... But he felt like he understood it.

"I know that you feel like there is no escape and that there is nothing to do but to give up but both of us know that you are strong enough to push further. You can't give up S/O even if something bad happens simply giving up won't solve anything"

You could argue against it but you just didn't have enough energy for that. He understood you and told you that you could talk about it later if now wasn't the right time.

Kazuichi Souda

"P-PUT THE KNIFE AWAY!" as you turned you saw him obviously freaking out. You did as he asked since there was no point.

After all you didn't wanted to bring him despair by doing it literally in front of him. You felt even more terrible when you saw his reaction at attempt itself.

He didn't knew what to do or say but he was glad that you stopped what you were doing. He sighed in relief "Please tell me it was a joke. You scared the shit out of me" he knew it wasn't the case but he wanted to believe that you didn't wanted to die.

The fact that you didn't react to it was a sign that you were really going to do it. Even though he wasn't good at talks like this he wanted to help you more than anything.

"You know you never stop surprising me" his voice was nervous "I don't know if it's a bad or good thing but sure enough I will always stay with you and support you you know? So please promise me that you won't try something like this ever again" he begged.

Your conversation continued and Kazuichi was afraid that he whould say something dumb but everything went well in the end.

Rantaro Amami

"HOLD IT!" now that he got your attention he spoke again slowly and calmly "S/O... Put the knife away"

You hesitated for few seconds but you put the knife away "Good" he muttered under his breath and moved closer towards you.

He was really glad that he just happened to see you becouse otherwise? He whouldn't even want to think about finding your corpse.

You on the other hand felt shame... He caught you in your act and now you whould have to explain things to him since you doubt he whould just ignore it.

You teared up slightly as you thought about all that horrible stuff you have been through. Rantaro placed his hand on your cheek "It's okay S/O" you looked up at him and he continued "You don't need to say anything if you don't want to. But know this that I won't let you give up" you hugged him and he wasn't hesitant to hug you back.

Mondo Oowada

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!?" his sudden shout scared you and he immediately apologized for it.

He wanted to know why whould you do something like this but he just couldn't get himself to say anything.

What he had to say really? Was he supposed to ask what's wrong or should he push the topic later?

You couldn't bring himself to face him you put the knife away and looked away from him. He allways told you how strong you were while in fact you thought of yourself as the weakest.

You felt his hand on your shoulder but you still refused to look up. His voice didn't raise this time but it still sounded a bit intimidating as he said "Who made you think that dying was the only option for you?"

You didn't say anything since in the end you were the one who decided it. Your silence didn't irritate him but worried him even further.

"S/O you know you are the strongest person I know right? You might not think that that's the case and you just want every worry to go away but... Shit I am really not making things better am I?" he wanted to punch himself so hard for saying something as stupid.

So he decided that instead of trying to put his feelings in words he just decided to say what he whould like to hear instead "Damn it S/O we both know that things allways will be hard and there are shit ton of stuff that we will have to go through 'till we die. So instead of giving up let's overcome what makes us weak and destroy it together how 'bout that?"

You looked at him and wiped away your tears and accepted his help wich made him more than happy.

Korekiyo Shinguji

"I'M NOT LETTING YOU-" even though it was risky he ran towards you and took the knife away from you. Even though he was quick and his actions were far from careful neither of you were injured.

You looked at him and you didn't need to see underneath his mask to know that he felt surprised.

His usually calm and collected voice was shaky as he said "W-why whould- I don't-" he couldn't even collect his thoughts to say anything as he thought of possibly seeing your dead body if he didn't notice you earlier. The thought itself made him tremble and even tear up.

Seeing his reaction made him think of the same as well and you started apologizing. Saying sorry like there was no other word in dictionary over and over again and with each one his heart broke.

Both of you were emotional wrecks at the time to say the least.

"That's enough S/O" he said stopping your apologies "There is nothing you should apologize for my love. All I can ask for is to never try something like this again. You matter too much to me and I promise you that I will destroy anything that will stand in your way" you could feel how serious Korekiyo was it felt in some way comforting and in the other intimidating.

The discussion moved forwards and he listened carefully to each of your words and didn't even think of interrupting you unless you were finished.

He reassured you that he isn't going to stay indifferent to what you had gone through and he managed to convince you to keep going.

Teruteru Hanamura

"DROP THE KNIFE!" his terrified scream filled the room as you were just about to go with the stab.

Your eyes widen upon seeing him and you quickly put the knife away just like you tried to hide it.

Even though he was still surprised he decided to not say anything that related to your attempt at suicide instead he focused on seeing you smile again.

It might be dumb and his reasons might be idiotic in someone's opinion but he didn't care enough.

"S/O listen to me you absolute star I won't let you give up you hear me" even though he was smiling he was really nervous one wrong step and he might ruin everything.

"There is nothing like you S/O nothing as sweet but spicy at the same time there is just no way to describe how amazing and strong you are. You may think that there is something that is stopping you from continuing living but I tell you that I won't let anything beat you" his voice was filled with passion "Things do get better and I won't let you think otherwise"

He kept saying tons of compliments and threw some jokes here and there untill you smiled at least slightly.

Hajime Hinata

"WAIT!" you heard him from the other side of the room. You didn't notice him follow you but then again if you saw him you whouldn't try killing yourself.

He was still shocked "For how long were you bottling this up?" you didn't answer by now you lost track of time so you didn't even know how to answer.

He pretty much thought of this possibility but still asked just to make sure.

"I know that I might not know how you feel but let me try to understand you or at least help you" he felt pretty hopeless since he whould be able to do much unless you cooperate.

"Listen I know it's hard to say about all this stuff you were through but you can't let whatever it is to control you. You are a wonderful person and definitely worth more than you can imagine" the first sentence felt like scolding but you knew what he meant.

You decided to accept his help but not for yourself. You did it for him.

Makoto Naegi

"S-S/O-!?" he got your attention so you turned to look at him. You thought you were just hearing things so you couldn't belive that he was actually there.

"Please S-stop it. Put the knife away I'm sure we can talk this out together" since there was no point you placed the knife back where you got it from.

In your eyes there was so much despair it looked quite scary in it's own way... Expecially for someone who loves you.

So he had to fight for you. For your hope. But most importantly your life.

"Things are harsh I know this but nothing will ever change if you won't try. Even if you think that there is no light for you don't give up. You might think that there is no other way. You might think that nobody cares but you can't be more wrong on that. There is many things you can achieve and many things you can change and people are here for you you aren't alone and won't ever be I can guarantee you that"

His speech was actually much longer than that after he found the reason why you wanted to kill yourself in the first place. But no matter how many times you tried to ignore his words he found his way back in.

He whouldn't give up until you promised to not ever even think of killing yourself.

Yasuhiro Hagakure

"DOOOON'T!" he ran towards you in order to take the knife from you. If you whouldn't be surprised by his presence or you somehow didn't hear his scream you whould be done for.

After he got a good grip of it he yanked the knife away from you "Why!?" he asked with tears in his eyes.

He whould never expect you even whould try something like this... But I guess he can't predict everything.

You told him shortly how you felt recently. But you didn't say anything about events that pushed you to it itself.

He couldn't belive that he was oblivious to your suffering all this time it was his chance to change it.

Even though he was freaking out he managed to get himself together. You needed comfort and he had to provide it.

He invited you for a hug and you accepted it "I understand that things are tough on you and I know that you feel like there is no escape but you know... When there is no escape you can allways ask for help. There are many people who can lift the weight you are carrying and if you somehow don't find anyone I can lift all of that. I know this might sound wierd from someone who allways relies on others but for you I can do just about anything and I want you to never forget that"

Byakuya Togami

"STOP THIS INSTANT!" you heard him loud and clear. For you it was obvious that he will demand you to explain everything to him.

Before he said anything more you felt like a failure. You fell down on your knees and lost a grip of the knife as soon as your body hit the ground.

As he saw it he immediately checked if you didn't injure yourself.

His silence was something that made your thoughts go wild on how disappointed he must be.

"What kind of hell did you go through in order to even think that you don't want to live anymore" he said quietly to himself but you could hear it.

"More importantly did you try to hide it from me!?" his voice was suddenly louder but he wasn't done "For how long I will live I won't let you suffer nor will I let you die do you understand?"

Honestly you didn't knew how to react to that but he definitely waited for your response.

And since you didn't give him any he tried to convince you until you agreed.

As distant as he sometimes can be he was never ignoring your feelings so it was obvious that he tried anything in his power to make you feel happy again.

Kokichi Ouma

"DON'T EVEN TRY IT!" when you heard his voice you immediately put the knife away thinking that you could think of some excuse "S/O please don't throw such an obvious lies at me"

You felt even worse at that point you just sat on the ground and covered your face with your hands since you didn't wanted him to look at you at this state.

He sat next to you "Now tell me what's wrong or I will find the answer myself the hard way" you didn't even want to think what he possibly meant by that.

So after he got the answer whether it took longer or you told him sooner he said to you "Now listen to me S/O. If you think that I will let something happen like this to stop you from living then you are wrong. Really I feel kinda stupid for having to state the obvious"

Even though this was rather serious matter Kokichi managed to keep his signature smile on his face "Your Supreme leader got this. Your problems will be gone before you know it just leave it to me"

Nagito Komaeda

"WAIT DON'T!" he wasn't expecting this view in the slightest. The person who was shining with the brightest hope was filled with despair all along.

Komaeda tried to do this slowly since he understood how it feels when you are close to ending it all. But he allways lacked the willpower to actually do this.

You however made all of these feelings go away and now it was his turn to save you.

"Look at me S/O you DON'T want to do this. Together we will fight and keep fighting with despair that is inside you and replace it with hope instead. I know that you are stronger than this" after his little speech you put the knife away.

Even though he knew it wasn't the end so he kept pushing "You are the most lively light that can overcome any darkness and I think... No... I KNOW that you can win in the end"
