Acapella Throwback
Every time a version of "Nature Boy" comes up for me on shuffle, I remember this arrangement of it performed by Afro Blue (Howard University's Jazz Vocal Choir)
The singer performing the bass is amazing, like I wonder if people really understand what an amazing feat it is to hold the entire performance down continuously like that because it sounds so effortless. The scatting by the lead soloist was excellent as well.
I really do like the choral breakdown at 4:40, the harmonies are gorgeous.
Anyways, this is a great way to spend 8 minutes, please give it a listen.

Things that make me feel old: having to explain the existence of photo negatives to my 20-something nephew. He had zero knowledge of what they were, why they existed, what their use was...

The more tiktok posts that breach the aether and get to me here, the more I realise I just don't get tiktok humour. The stuff I've seen isn't even like....I don't get it as a joke that's just not funny? It's just people doing stuff or saying obvious stuff

Latest thing that makes me feel old: seeing photos of actors who were adults when I was a pre-teen or teen, from around that same time, and omfg they look so baby-faced now. How is it allowed for them to look so young? They’re not adults, they’re obviously children!
But no, they were actual adults at the time. I’m just starting to see everyone from Older Person perspective.
This is right up there with seeing attractive older actors and then having that “waitaminute - they’re younger than me” moment.
