Animals, CoD Ghosts HC’s

What animals/creatures are the Ghosts?

A/N🪶: These are just my options! Feel free to send me yours. These are for all the Ghosts, including former, deceased and current within the Ghosts game. This list will include Rorke, Ajax and Elias Walker. Also this is going to be formatted differently from the first HC, Natural Disasters.

David “Hesh” Walker - German Shepard

Hesh is loyal, probably to a fault. Willing to do whatever it takes to protect the ones he loves and get the job done, even if he gets injured in the process.

^ Bringing me to my next point, Hesh is very protective of his family. The mere idea of anyone getting hurt is enough to get this man baring his teeth and attacking.

In the Natural Disasters list, I mentioned that Hesh, according to Urban Dictionary, means courageous, another trait of German Shepards.

One more trait that applies is also Shepards, really any animal in general, being alert as well. This is a given, though, considering he is a soldier in active war zones especially with such effective and deadly enemies. He needs to make every second count and can’t afford to slack in these areas.

I should mention that Shepards are obedient yet stubborn. Hesh knows when to listen to his superiors but he’ll easily let you know when he doesn’t agree with something. Think about when Merrick, Keegan and Elias (mask on) picked them up and Hesh was yelling about their dad still being caught in the crossfire. Merrick got Hesh to sit his ass down but Hesh was clearly not happy about it, understandably.

Logan Walker - Mountain Lion

Mountain lions can’t roar and Logan can’t, or —depending on your headcanons, consciously chooses not to— talk.

Logan finds other methods of communicating, for example, when he and Keegan were about to bust into the room to get to Ajax, Logan used his fingers to count down.

The National Wildlife Federation website says “Mountain lions are territorial and solitary. They use pheromones and physical signs… to define their territory.” (Mountain Lion, Fun Fact.)

Mountain lions are known for being very stealthy predators, again a given considering the fact we’re talking about the Ghosts.

The Mountain Lion Foundation describes them as being relentless hunters which almost connects it to the wiki quote for Logan that calls him a cold-blooded killer and an excellent soldier (CoD Ghosts: Wiki, Logan Walker, Personality.).

Elias T. “Scarecrow” Walker - Black Bear

Scary but not as scary as you may expect.

While Elias is certainly ready to do his job at any point no matter how bloody, he still has his weak spots, that being his sons.

He’s caring but while be stoic when necessary. He’s not territorial but will protect his friends and family when the time calls for it.

Also one detail I find cute about bears is that they have DNA relation to dogs, albeit very distant. I like to call bears giant murder puppies :D

Thomas A. Merrick - Grizzly Bear

I want to say that grizzly bears are often considered to be more dangerous than black bears and more likely to attack if given a reason to.

Both grizzlies and black bears can charge but where black bears may shift away at the last second and avoid attacking, grizzlies may continue to charge and attack their target (once again I’m thinking about Merrick punching Rorke because it just makes me laugh, that man was not ready).

Of course, Merrick is dangerous but he knows when the time is and isn’t appropriate despite his temper. Merrick is a big dude too, so I think this works (“stocky”).

Gabriel T. Rorke - Polar Bear

Once he has his sights on you, you’re already gone.

Hehe, polar bears are mighty dangerous.

Polar bears are bigger and stronger sometimes, but other time grizzlies and polars can be about the same in build.

Polar bears are more likely to attack considering they have fewer resources for food and typically eat a lot as well.

Fun fact: Polar bears don’t hibernate.

^^^ Piggy backing off that, Rorke doesn’t seem to be resting. He’s always planning something, whether it be a plan B or future plans.

He’s a very large and commanding presence who will find alternatives when desperate, willing to do what he must to make sure his plans are completed.

Keegan P. Russ - Leopard

Fast, sneaky. You don’t know he’s there until it’s too late.

Fun Fact: Leopards can roar. Keegan, though very quiet, stills speaks and intimidates with his voice when necessary.

Leopard’s are solitary and ambush hunters, I don’t need to explain this but I will.

If you recall, Rorke had a lot of trouble getting his nasty ass hands on Keegan after kidnapping the Walker family and Merrick.

His first objective was to find Keegan. In my eyes, it’s because he knows that as long as Keegan is alive, Rorke isn’t safe.

Like many animals, leopards care for one another, seen with families. I think Keegan is a very caring person but he avoids showing it often, which is fair.

Keegan continuously checks in with Logan throughout the game. In the underwater mission, he made sure Logan was okay. If you look closely when walking behind Keegan on the submarine, Keegan turns his head back to us briefly.

Alex V. “Ajax” Johnson - Elephant

Ajax is smart and powerful, I want to say he’s very determined.

In the short time we knew him, he was very stubborn as well. He didn’t give up anything and held out for a while. Though he was a lower rank than the other characters.

In his last moments, he made sure the last Ghosts knew what was happening in a last ditch effort to keep them safe and aware.

It’s hard to pin down super specific traits due to the fact that elephants can exhibit many and there’s not much we can give to Ajax.

I want to say that Ajax was more laid-back with his friends and comrades, leaving his bold energy for those who don’t deserve his respect ( insert the iconic scene where Ajax puts up his middle finger right at the Federation soldier ).

Like all the animals and characters on this list, Ajax was dangerous when necessary. He wasn’t spending every moment trying to be scary or intimidating or anything. He’s confident in himself and his abilities and he doesn’t need anyone else to speak up for him.

The respect we hear given to him by the Ghosts after his death was well deserved.

Kick - Monitor Lizard

Some kind of reptile (I was so tempted to put him as a Gila Monster but I can’t do that to my best boi).

I’d say probably a water monitor.

These lizards, which can grow to 9 feet btw, don’t surprise their prey, but “actively pursue” them.

While these creatures have venom, but it’s not necessarily fatal.

Kick is definitely dangerous when he’s needed but it’s not like a “I am the grim reaper.” type of thing, it’s more like “I have a job to do and you won’t be in my way.”.

These creatures are known for being intelligent which lines up with Kick’s likely (not confirmed?) role as an information specialist.

The main thing that doesn’t quite line up is the fact that water monitors can be friendly whereas Kick is, if not more stand-offish, then solitary. I do imagine that he eventually opens up, but he’s definitely more comfy with his computers.

Neptune - Owl

I imagine that Neptune, being one of the original Ghosts, is very wise, though more subtle. I can’t think of what kind of owl he’d be, maybe snowy.

I mostly just wanted to include him here. Feel free to add onto him.

Riley… Riley

The most dangerous creature ever, himself.

World’s Best Throat-Snatcher over here being a cutie patootie with blood on his maw. 10/10 best boi.

Someone puts a suggestion/complaints box on Elias's desk, and even though he doesn't know who did it, he just leaves it there with the thought "I'll just get rid of it later."

Call of Duty: Ghosts Headcanons!!!

Keegan

He's good as his job, always getting shit done.

but oh my god is he a bad influence on you

"Want a shot?" "I'm not 21 yet, Keegan." "I asked if you wanted a shot, not how old you were."

On roadtrips he's never allowed to drive, but he will backseat drive. "You should take this highway instead" "I know a faster way" "If you go down this road you could probably reach it easier"

Snores when he's asleep, I feel like he may have sleep apnea or something like that.

HE'S REALLY LOUD TOOOO

Mumbling in his sleep if he's asleep in a chair

That's another thing, he can fall asleep literally anywhere. Chair? Yes. Under the bed? Yes. Under a table? Yes.

He has sharp canines, I don't make the rules. He uses them to open things

He LOVES your scent, he likes having just one thing of yours just to hold and have near.

I don't think he would call you Kid if he was interested in you, I think he'd stick with your name or "Hun". Unless you're older than him, then he uses generic shit like "Babe"

A man of a few words, he gives short answers, pretty blunt, but in text he will ramble on and on~

He likes writing, he finds that it's easier for him to process his words and gives him time to think.

Logan

Good boy, very good and well behaved boy.

Grown man, but good boy

He's actually really mischievous, they took a trip (The team) to Italy while on leave and when visiting the Tower of Pisa he offered to take Keegans photo.

Gesturing for him to lean, pose, scooch back, just so he can get the perfect photo.

Only for him to take it, snickering to himself because he made Keegan pose extremely far from the tower so the photo just looks silly.

Keegan had a good laugh about it, only after he put Logan into a headlock

He does the same to Hesh, always asking for some water, then being like "I didn't ask for this" so Hesh takes it back and when he comes back empty handed Logan is like "Water?"

He's very quiet, way more than Keegan.

He only gives nods or gestures, speaks when he needs to though, like in call outs and such.

He'd call you Love

He sneaks food to Riley sometimes, when they're all eating, he's the one throwing stuff on the floor for him

WIP Wednesday (It's Saturday)

I was tagged by the wonderful @simonxriley thanks so much dude!

I always suck at tagging people, but I know this can be for writing and art, so I'll try to tag a few others. @samithemunchkin @tokillamockingbird427 @alidravana and anyone else who wants to join in on the fun!

I've been going back and forth with different WIPs, so I'll do the one that I actually worked on today.

Merrick’s in his office filing paperwork when he gets back, fingers clicking away on a laptop he’d been given. His graying brows are furrowed and surrounded by deep wrinkles, the man having seemed to age much quicker in the last year or so.

“Hey Merrick.” Hesh knocks lightly against the open door, a flat smile on his face while he waits for his captain to look up.

“What’s going on, kid?” His eyes flick up for a brief moment, a faint spark barely crossing his eyes for a second before it's gone and he’s looking back at his paperwork.

“I uh, there’s not much to do. I wanted to see if you needed my help.” He takes a seat in the chair across from him. He quite likes the place they’ve been staying in, it’s got a lot of older furniture, but much of it is quite comfortable and cozy. It often reminds him of their old places they’d stay at. Safehouses full of outdated furniture among other things. He lets out a sigh, rubbing his hands back and forth on the fabric of the armrests. His grandparents had chairs like these in their lounge.

“I’m all set, Hesh.” He answers, short and curt. Always cold. Hesh knows Merrick doesn’t mean to be cold, he’s usually warmer with his men when he can be. “I’m just finishing up my half of this, Price will finish his when he gets back.” Another brief glance. “Are you alright?”

“I’m good.” He answers, which is a half-truth. Logan had been doing much better; less nightmares, fewer violent outbursts. He’s finally willingly letting nurses take blood samples, among all the other things they need from him. Constant checks, constant evals. It never ends. Hesh would give anything to snatch his little brother and take him far, far away from here. It wouldn’t have to be back home, there’s nothing left and that’s the first place anyone would look. Soap’s warm smile crosses his mind, a soft skip in his heartbeat catches his breath. Maybe they could all run away together.

It wouldn’t solve their problems, and none of them were runners. Soap still wanted to lead his team, and Hesh was more than ready for another promotion. Certainly, he’d earned the privilege of being a Captain. Granted, the idea of leading the Ghosts not only excited him but left him with doubts. Rorke had led them, his father, and now Merrick. The Ghosts seemed to have a hard time keeping captains and soldiers alike. They’d all been through so much, both before and after ODIN. Both before and after Torch, Grim, Ajax and his father were killed. It was a heavy burden to lead the Ghosts, and Hesh was beginning to wonder if he still wanted that.

Pulling himself from his thoughts, he jumps a bit when his eyes land on Merrick’s stern ones, boring into his face.

“Thought I lost you for a second there.” He states, eyes flicking around Hesh’s face. “Go get some rest kid, you need it.”

“I don’t-” He tries to argue, shutting up when Merrick gives him that look., the same look his father used to give him when he’d try to argue. “Yes sir.” He answers with a sigh, pulling himself from the chair and leaving without looking back. He probably had that look on his face still, and he didn’t want to see his father in Merrick’s eyes.

The Ghosts playing CO-OP Stardew Valley

A 100% canon list (says me and me alone)

Logan’s in the mines the day it opens and never leaves again (only to sleep), argues with the others about going to the festivals because that means a days gone by where he’s not in the mines (I haven’t tried to avoid the festivals but if it’s one that can’t be avoided he will only go to them on accident, because he forgot it was a festival day and tried to go to pierre’s or smth), hates fishing, doesn’t have the patience for it and gets too frustrated when it goes wrong. Often forgets to talk to people, but when he does, it’s mostly only with Abigail, who he romances on literally every save he has

Hesh is almost the complete opposite to Logan, *loves* the festivals, will happily go into the mines but does a lot of early game fishing for their money income + for the community centre, has watered half the plants before Logan actually comes out of his house. Romances Alex, likes the character arc he goes through w/ the male farmer

Ajax loves taking it slow, just a casual farming sim. This is until the skull caverns get unlocked, he *thrives* in them, doesn’t care much for fishing, will leave that to Hesh, rarely ever even goes to the beach unless he needs to to talk to someone (Elliot, Willy, Haley and Alex in the summer). I feel like he’d romance either Haley or Alex, Haley if playing with Hesh, and whoever he gets the hearts with sooner in his single player saves

Keegan takes it slowly the entire play through, his logic is that he’s so stressed in real life, his pixelated character deserves some rest, even if he can’t get it. Loves fishing, but he’s fucking *awful* at it, has never caught a single fish in SDV ever. Romances Sebastian because he’s emo… /j

Kick had a certain chaotic energy about him I feel would make early game a struggle to get through, but the second ginger island is unlocked he spends whole days there, and once the island farm is fixed, he sleeps there too, thrives off hunting for golden walnuts, will yell at someone if they try to cheat their way through it (either by looking up where they are or by using that parrot thing), rarely actually buys anything unless asked to. Dates multiple people, never marries though.

Merrick doesn’t play too often, he’s a busy man after all, but when they can find a clear day in his schedule? He loves the social aspect, will happily hunt around looking for every npc everyday, refuses to get the NPC map locations mod despite everyone telling him it make his days easier trying to find everyone. The change of seasons throws him off because peoples schedules change and he has to figure it out again.

I wrote this at 5:20 so please excuse any potential strange phrasing…

COD Ghosts Cannon divergence

David 'Hesh' Walker is storming in the office of his father he's about to explode and he wants an explanation. Elias Walker is standig up from his chair needing to hug his returned son. "Hesh", his father starts but he dont let's him finish punching his father. This man Rorke has Logan. Elias falls to the ground not expecting Hesh to react like this, looking shocked when he sits up. "He has Logan and its your fault", Hesh screams at his father ready to punsh him again, but Merrick is holding him back. "Let me", Hesh screams, fighting against the hold of the second in command, tearing the wound on his leg open again. If hes not angry he will break down over the fact that he could not save his littel brother, that he failed Logan. That their own father send them in the trap of a man that made it his mission to destroy the Ghosts and their father took them on the Team, knowing this psyco is haunting them. What kind of father is doing this, only a shitty one, Hesh is sure of it.

It's was suposed to be a easy mission. Going in going out, stealing some intel. Something easy something the two newest members of the Ghost team could do alone. Something to do in between big mission, to train, low risk a good learning experience, something to prepere them to do fieldwork with out the rest of the Ghosts. Now they are on the run from Rorke the man that wants to kill all of them. They are running away from what was ones a littel californinan town south of LA behind the wall in the middel of no man's land. It's concerning how close Rorke is to the wall with out them knowing, but it hits Hesh that they probably have very less on the former Ghost in general. They are running along the rocky coast. Desperately trying to get to exfile or finding a hiding spot what ever they reach first. Evading bullets, hiding as good as they can behind rocks, what ever they can do to get away from the man that hopefully will kill them, everything else would be a worse fate. He hears Logan panting behind him, they are on a small rocky path, neither of them would ever set a foot on if they wouldn't literally run for their lifes. The rock under their feet is crumbling a desater about to happen something that is slowing them down. Atleast nobody is shotting at them at the moment. "Scarecrow, I think we got away", Hesh says over radio the only problem is he has no idea where they are and how to get to exfile. "Good. Where is your location?", their father asks back. "A cliff? About 2 hours away from where you dropped us off?", Hesh explains unsure where they even are before noticing and cursing the path they are on is ending in a big gap where part of the rock broke away. A dead end, if the federation is following them, they are fucked. He shares a look with Logan who is simply pointing up, to say we need to climb. Hesh looks trying to see if they could jump over the gap, they can not and even if the could its questionable if the rock would not break under the weight. "I need a better location Hesh", it comes over the radio. "I can't give you a better one. We are on a small path on a the cliff, very good view of the Pacific." Hesh knows this is not helping at all, that its childish of him to act like this. What else can he even say, he knows they fucked up, they where forced by not really paying attention to walk this shitty path, like they just left boot camp. "Hesh, is there anything we can use as a landmark?", Elias ask sounding like he is about to panic, what is not helping at all, besides that their father is caring for them in someway. "Part of the cliff broke away?", Hesh answer unsure god he sounds like a idiot, he nearly dont hears the sound of something hitting the water but before he can realise what is happening its to late. Sudenly Logan is grabing his shoulder in a panic he lost his footing as part of the ground he's standing on is breaking away. In an instict Hesh trys to get a hold on the stone wall, but its to no use, he now has some rock in his hand, well atleast they die with the knowledge that they would not be able to climb the wall up, while falling in to the ocean. "Hesh, we need a clear landmark", is probably the last think the Walker brothers hear before hitting the water.

The next thing Hesh knows hes laying on a small beach, coughing up water about to throw up. He looks around seeing Logan just a few meters away looking absolutely exhausted. They survived, thanks to Logan, but still having no idea where the fuck they are. "Hesh, Logan", Merrick voice comes over the radio but neither of the brothers are able to answer, coughing up water. The blaclava they are wearing are not helping at all so Hesh rolls his up so his mouth and nose are free, inhalling the air greddy, looking around to find some sort of landmark to give. When Hesh finaly has a breath to spare for talking, he simply states "We are alive, had a unplanned swim we are on a small part of beach, maybe its just a sandbank." Thats when Rorke is apearing and Hesh starts to shake not only because he is cold, but out of fear what this man will do to them. "Ah finaly meeting Elias sons in person", the leader of the federations troops is saying having a simle on his face that makes Hesh blood freeze. No, no they made it so far it can't stop here. "Hesh?", Merrick is asking urgently needing more to find them, not knowing what a shit situation the brothers are in. "Look at you two, how big and strong you got since I saw you the last time", Rorke continues making Hesh heart race what, what does Rorke mean with this. They never meet any Ghosts as kids their father never having his two parts of his life touch before Odin. "Tell me how does it feel being send to the slaughter by Elias? I know that feeling to good, he left me to die", Rorke continues his littel monologe and its only now that Hesh notices he lost his weapons in the fall, not that he thinks he can move faster then Rorke if he really had to, but he would try. The man is stepping closer to Logan, pulling out a gun and for the first time since Odin Hesh is affrait for their lifes. He hears a shot, and then his leg hurts, Rorke shot him in the leg, like he is playing with them, why not kill them its the chance. "Tell Elias hello from me and never forget David, it's your fathers fault what is happening from here." Everything is happening in slow motion from there for Hesh, Logan gets hit against the head with the weapon and falls over and then to his absolute horror Rorke grabbing one of his brothers legs to drag his littel brother away. "No, Logan!" He trys to reach the hand Logans is desperately holding out for him to reach for help. But he can't, this fucker made sure that he can't reach his brother, is he dragging Logan away extra slowly to taunt him? "Logan! LOGAN!!", he screams desperately trying to reach his brother having to watch helplessly how his brother is kidnapped, he never feelt this powerless in his life. Then time as a cruel punishment is starting to flow normal again and his brother is gone. Everything stops at this moment he dont hears Merrick over the radio it dosent matter anymore, that he is bleeding out is not mattering anymore, nothing matters anymore, he failed Logan, he is a failure, he failed and Logan has to endurce the consequences. The only time he needed to protect his brother he failed. He dont know how much later Kegan is finding him, he don't hear his questions, dont registers that Kegan is patching him up, dont hear Kegan tell everyone that Logan is MIA. He is a failure and he let his brother down. The foundation of his mind is breaking under him and he feels himself falling into a deep black hole.

Now

"Hesh calm down your hurting yourself", Elias miserably fails to calm his hot-headed son down, only feeding Hesh rage even more. He was never good at this, but well he had to because his wife wasn't there to help him with this. "No, you.. you send us in a trap", Hesh screams he feels how he is about to break, like he finally reached rock bottom of the hole hole he fallen into. "There was no information that anyone would be there. The place was given up.", Elias trys to explain, he looked over the intel countless times since he got the call that his sons got compromise, there was nothing he oversaw, Hesh has to understandthis. "Oh and that will make it better? You took us on the team knowing, knowing this monster is hunting all of you. This your fault", somehow the rage Hesh is feeling is only getting stronger, turn the hurt he is feeling into aggression is numbing the pain, over playing what he is really feeling. Being angry is easy, anger is something he can deal with he knows anger. "Hesh, this is nobody's fault", Merrick tells him not losing his grip on him, but Hesh is really trying his hardest to get free, even with bleeding again. Rorke defently took the 'easier' brother with him. "Its only one person's fault and that is you Dad", is the last think Hesh says before the first sob is ripping through his body, the grief of losing his brother now fully hitting him.

Logan lays on the floor of the helicopter silent tears running down his face. He wishes Rorke would just have killed him there on the beach, what ever the other is planing is a worse fate then death. Nausea is spreading, he might throw up, his heart trys to break out of his chest and he cant really breath. Every breath hurts, did he injure himsels when they fallen in the ocean? He still hears Hesh screaming his name, while he slowly gets dragged over the beach to a jeep. How abosulty horrified Hesh sounded, he dont think that he heard Hesh like this before. And that is terrifying, not really helping his curent state. "I have big plans with you Logan, Elias don't even know what potential is in you, but don't worry you will reach your full potential under my supervision", Rorke tells him and the air becomes ice cold, as if he isn't already frezzing. What, what will this man do to him? The nausea gets worse at this. His only hope he has is that Hesh will do everything in his power to rescue him, right? His big brother will rescue him, he has to hope this, because he dont even wants to think about the alternative. He has no idea how long they are already in the air, but the further they get away from US soil the worse are his chances of him getting saved, they will not send anyone that deep into enemy territory for one person. What is one person in a war, nothing he trys to fight the hopelessness that is spreading through his brain. His shaking gets stronger, must be visible by now, his cloths still being wet and the floor of the helicopter is slowly sucking the warmth out of his body. They will try everything to get him home, Hesh will try everything in his power to gey him back. He cant forget this, what ever happens he cant forget this. "You think your father will let David find you or do you think he will sacrefice you for the war?", Rorke is asking as if he knows what Logan is thinking about, it's also strange to have Hesh be referred to as David. "Selected mutism I forgot, don't worry Logan it dosent matter what you would have answered, there is no way they will find you till I let them", the older man ends their littel conversation and Logan fels how tears are running down his face again. The way how casual Rorke is telling him this, knowing this is the truth, it makes Logan wish the fucking Helicopter is breaking apart then he atleast would be dead. "You know I never planned to get you two into your fathers mess, but then you joined the Team and I couldn't let this opertunity pass. This will hurt Elias more then anything I could ever come up with." He looks at Rorke for the first time really looking at him, tears still running down his face, but anger slowly fighting its way to through his calm character. He might be freezing, he might be a prisinor but he will survive this. Rorke is lifting his chin with his boot looking a tiny bit impressed. "I thought I picked the weaker brother, but I think I made a wrong call", Rorke says more to himself then to Logan. So Rorke does make mistakes and he can try to work with all the tiny mistakes to get free. He will survive this or die trying to get away.

Messy CoD: Ghost's headcannons ::

on the topic of CoD charachters as animals, Merrick strikes me as a bear. dunno ENTIRELY why. i saw this other post montttthhhssss back(more like a year ago) of someone headcannoning that Merrick kind of instinctively starts watching out for the Walker brother's/doting on them more after Elias' death and i REALLY resonate with that.

he takes care of his cubs :) definitely gets protective of the two brothers after his best friends death. (also headcannon that Elias and Merrick were closer buds than we got to see. those two definitely drink beer together.) Merrick seems like the kind of guy to have never seen himself as a father figure, its just an instinctive move after Elias dies since the two boys are still pretty young adults. (dunno if the person said all this in their posts, i have zero way of finding them again 😭😭)

(i was getting stuffed animals from build a bear nd making them themed as CoD charachters and i have a bear one as Merrick because of this[lmk if you want a bear!Merrick reveal because i also have doodles of him with bear ears])

honestly dont really know what to say about this man. i feel like he's extremely un-tech savvy unless its military technology. definitely does that dad squint with his eyes while reading something/trying to figure out how tf a phone works.

OHHH and on the topic of being horridly bad with tech and internet shi, if Logan and Hesh were to ever show Merrick tiktok for any reason, Merrick would probably find himself an addict of the app and incidentally pick up a shit ton of Gen Z humor but have zero idea what ANY of it means.

catch him throwing around old 2019 jokes or being one of those awkward father's who try to relate to the younger demographic by using outdated slang. thats IF he has the confidence to use any of the humor. if anything, i feel like he'd be awfully self conscious about doing so due to his lack of knowledge on it all.

no idea where im going with these headcannons. it is 12am and i am doing my workout routine as i wrote this while sleep deprived. dw im going strong.

but on the topic of HEADCANNONS,,,

Keegan, i feel like, leaned alot on Elias (probably without realizing it). i just see a kinship between Keegan, Elias and Merrick. Keegan seems to be by Merrick's side ALOT and i feel like HE feels he belongs there. not reliant just.. connected. soul brothers, really.

and if it wasnt Logan and Hesh who were fucked up over Elias' death, it was Keegan and Merrick. Merrick lost a bestfriend, Keegan lost a friend maybe even a father/uncle figure.

mostly Merrick gives me uncle vibes, though. Elias is a father figure, someone to lean on / someone to really show you how to do something and help you through hard times with insanely good advice. and Merrick's just the awkward, un-tech savvy uncle. i refuse to elaborate any further.

my personal headcannon for Logan is that hes semi-mute. i dont, personally, headcannon him as someone with full mutism but i do feel like he doesnt speak 90% of the time and shocks everyone whenever he does speak.

Keegan going about his day, saying a brief good morning to Logan and the Walker boy saying a quiet ''morning'' back to the man. has Keegan freeze on the spot, taking a full minute before looking up at Logan. takes a glance at Hesh and the brother merely shrugs, used to Logan's rare speaking.

out of everyone, Logan mostly speaks to Hesh. whenever Logan does speak, i feel like its aimed, USUALLY, at Hesh and nobody else in the room. keeps ot brief but sometimes has an actual back and forth while Merrick and Keegan are just reeling.

Merrick, wanting to help understand Logan better and show he cares more after Elias' death, put time aside to learn sign language for Logan's 'no talk days'. definitely mixes up a few signs and still has alot to learn but it surprises Logan and the man feels heard. definitely better than Logan having to rely on Hesh fully to communicate what Logan's trying to say / Logan having to fumble and point out different things and use unconventional means to try and get something across.

no hcs for Hesh rn..i THINK. actually i think i do have some but i cant remember and am tired. i spent likr an hour writing this yw im so eepy

gonna make a post strictly for Elias hc's because i have ALOT. (can you tell i have daddy issues)

Hangover type au where the Ghosts for some reason have a very wild day they don't quite remember and then have to deal with the consequences later.

Keegan "Oh god... what did we do yesterday..?" Merrick "We got really drunk is what we did." Keegan "I know that- *sees him* OH FUCK- I mean, uh, hi Merrick!" Merrick "What? Something wrong with my face?" Keegan "Uh, uhm, no. Nothing wrong with your face. Specifically. But uhm. Maybe uh... look down..?" Merrick "...Why the fuck is Riley tattooed on my chest." Keegan "I mean... It looks quality, so uh... not the worst tat..?"

Hesh "Guys! Guys! Guys I can't find Logan!" Kick "Hey, calm down man, he's a big boy." Hesh "Oh god, I'm gonna throw up. I can't find him. We got up to so much stupid shit yesterday! What if something happened to him?!" Keegan "Hesh... have you maybe taken a second... to look up?" Hesh *stops, looks up* "... How the FUCK is he up there?!" Logan, sighing "This ceiling fan is installed very well."

Hesh "We can't even drive. I can't find my car keys. Logan was on the ceiling fan for fucks sake, who knows where we put them!" Neptune "Hm. Well given I can see them all on the front passenger seat, I'd say we did the responsible thing of making sure we couldn't drive last night." Hesh "... The registration's in there too. We can't even call a locksmith to get them out." Keegan "Get me a wire hanger and I can jimmy us in." *they all slowly turn to look at him* Keegan "What? It's not the most criminal thing I'm capable of doing and you all know it."

Keegan "Hey, Logan, uh. I didn't wanna ask this in front of everyone, but for some reason, I woke up and I had Elias's ring on..? I know he left them with you, so I figured I should give this back." Logan "Thank you. But Keegan... have you thought about why you might have been wearing it?" Keegan, with dawning horror "What do you know?" Logan "...I wasn't shirtless when I woke up." Keegan "No." Logan "It was a commemorative T shirt." Keegan "No." Logan "I will say, it looked like you were a good kisser. I don't remember it, but I looked like I enjoyed it." Keegan "Hesh is gonna skin me. And then Elias is going to beat me once I'm dead." Logan "To be fair I think dad would be laughing his ass off right about now."

Hesh "Hey, who's that guy driving towards us?" They all pause and stare Merrick "Is that..?" Keegan, immediately tossing Logan over his shoulder "FUCKING SCATTER DIPSHITS, THE ONLY THING HE'D LIKE TO HIT IS US! NOT THE BRAKES!" Hesh "IS THAT RORKE?!" Neptune "How'd he find us?!" Logan "I might remember sending him a heated text inviting him to try and fight us again! With our location." All of them, scolding "LOGAN!" Logan "What!? We got so close the last time!"

Hesh "Hey Logan, do you know anyone named Diego?" Logan "...I might... Why do you ask?" Hesh "Well, there's a blimp that says "Logan; I miss you, leave that stupid punk bitch, I'm hotter and richer." and it's signed "Diego Almagro 2." which is... A weirdly familiar name." Logan "Oh god no." Hesh "Who's this "Punk bitch" though? Do I know them?" Logan "Uh, well. You see- POCKET SAND!" Hesh "FUCK MY EYES! LOGAN WHAT THE HELL?!"

sharing this here because some friends approved it for hc but

kick was an old friend of keegan's. they'd known each other for a long time, and were pretty rough-and-tumble with each other. through time together, the roughhousing, and kick's own military training, keegan accidentally trained him into an excellent candidate for being a ghost

when everything started going down, merrick quietly pulled keegan aside and told him that with how they could use the extra manpower, he wanted to know if keegan's old friend he has mentioned as being "just as good a combatant as any of us" before would want to join ghosts

externally, keegan agrees. he hasn't seen kick in a long time, and if they worked together, he wouldn't have to be so scared of losing his friend when they could look out for each other. plus, since the team could use the extra help, it's a win-win!

...internally, he's swearing, because he told kick he'd keep in touch, and all he can think is oh god. he's going to absolutely kick my ass.

This was a very long thought over choice but I picked Merrick because I'm honestly genuinely curious of the pros and cons of dating Mer-Bear.

This one started as a challenge, then somehow came naturally?

Pros & Cons of Dating (Thomas A. Merrick Headcanons)

Pros

His memory (especially when it comes to you) is top tier. He has your favourite drink, and take out order memorized so he can surprise you on nights you need a pick me up or you're both too lazy to cook

Sitting on the couch, recovering from what felt like the longest day in existence you heard the front door open and the familiar greeting of your boyfriend as he entered.

A smile tugging at the corner of your lips when you saw your favourite drink in his hand, "a small peace offering" he shrugged

He cooks as a hobby, and truly enjoys trying and creating new recipes

"The next step is to fold in the cheese" You giggled, watching as he rolled his eyes. Focusing on the task at hand.

"What does that mean? What does fold in the cheese mean?" He played along, smile widening as you laughed harder. Nearly falling off the counter in the process.

The two of you were trying out a new recipe he found online a few nights ago. He was doing the cooking, while you kept him company and read off the instructions.

"Cheese is folded like origami into this, now what?"

His music taste is vast but refined

Whether it's humming along to the radio, or able to tell you what song is playing by the first few notes -- he never fails to shock you with how many bands he listens to.

It's also incredibly sweet when he starts playing new songs when you're around. All on the premise that he heard it and either thought of you, or thinks you'll enjoy it.

Cons

Good luck watching movies with him. Either he stops paying attention halfway through or falls asleep within the first 15 minutes

Arms resting behind his head, he watched as you grabbed the remote and your favourite snack. Clicking play with a smile, you cuddled into his side.

"Don't fall asleep this time" you teased, feeling him chuckle from beside you, promising not to.

It was about 1/3rd of the way through the movie when you felt him shift his weight a few times. Opting to lean further into the arm of the couch. You paid little mind, as this was a movie you've been waiting to see for months.

It was around the halfway mark, a quieter scene when you glanced over at the man. Seeing him glancing between the TV and his phone. With a soft sigh, you reached forward and paused the movie; knowing all too well what was happening.

"Need a break?"

For a guy with only facial hair, he spends a surprising amount of time and money on it

Knuckles tapping gently against the wood of the door, you softly inquired as to whether or not he was ready to leave for the night.

You'd been ready to go, waiting on the couch for the last 20 minutes. Waiting for him to finish up in the bathroom; where he was finishing a couple last details.

Peeking your head in, you were met by an array of different hair and beard products lining the counter….and your boyfriend still not fully dressed.

Snores like a freight train

Jumping slightly, you blinked the sleep out of your eyes. Looking around the room as you tried to comprehend why you were awake suddenly.

After a few seconds, you closed your eyes again. Willing your heart to calm down as you cuddled into your boyfriends side. Eyes shooting wide open again at the snore that came from his mouth.

No, it can't be.

Glaring up at him, you shook his body. Urging him to wake up and fucking breathe. His hand pressing back against you, sleepily shoving you back as he got more comfortable.

Sighing, you sat up and grabbed your pillow; pressing it gently against his face until you felt him wake up. Pulling the fabric away, you looked down at him and simply whispered:

"An eye for an eye, you bitch"

Daughter of a Ghost Killer blurb

"You're acting like your father."

Those words echoed in Isabella's mind as she curled up in her cot.

"You're acting like your father, Isabella. You're hurting, I understand that."

"No! No, you don't understand that, Elias! You don't understand that I spent twelve years of my life thinking that he was dead, thinking that you dropped him--thinking that you let him die." She spat angrily. "I want to help, this is my team, my life. You can't take me out of these missions, Elias, you can't!"

Merrick held her back, cradling his niece as she trembled and attempted not to lose her shit. "Bells, breathe."

"Get her out of here, Merrick. We will talk about this later." Elias ordered, concern and worry swirling in his eyes despite his cold demeanor.

"I'm not my father." She whispered. Ten years ago she would've killed to be like her father, the war hero, the man that made the Ghosts feared, Rorke.

And now here she lies, curled up in a pit of her own despair, begging, pleading with herself not to follow the same path he'd paved so many years ago.

The truth is, she was already halfway down that path, but she'd reached a fork in the road. In the last few months, Isabella had gotten obsessive, slaving over her work to hunt down the man that she once idolized like a superhero.

Twelve years ago, Gabriel Rorke obsessed over Almagro, and it resulted in the man he was today. The same man his own daughter was going to kill, if it was the last thing she did.

"Elias, you don't think-"

"I do, Merrick. She's got too much of her father in her." Elias interrupted Merrick, who shot him an annoyed look at not being able to finish his sentence. "She's getting reckless, going off on her own during missions, she's making this her whole life."

"But suspending her from missions? Don't you think it's a little far?" Merrick was just as concerned for his niece as Elias was, but he's known this girl for her whole life, he knew her better than anyone on the team.

"I'm just trying to protect her. I'm preventing another mistake from happening, I'm preventing another Rorke."

"Elias....what you did that day was not your fault. I told you to let go, there was no way we could've save him." Merrick sighed, running a hand down his face. "You're scared."

"I'm not...I'm not scared." Elias' hardened exterior faltered. "I'm terrified. Terrified that I'm going to lose that kid, we promised-"

"We promised to take care of her if anything happened to Rorke. Well Rorke isn't here now, and Isabella is a grown ass woman, she can take care of herself. And if we're being honest here, i'm scared too, I don't ever want to think of losing that girl. She's the closest thing i'll ever have to a daughter."

"So what the hell do we do?"

"We don't let what happened that day ever happen again. We keep her on missions, but we keep all eyes on her." Merrick got up from the chair and walked to the door.

"One hell of a plan, Captain."

"Yeah, one hell of a plan. Let's hope it works."
