honestly? peter quill and gamora were one of the only mcu couples that had actual chemistry and i will always be baffled as to why they decided to write them out. like... the vast majority of mcu romances are boring and bland and forgettable but these two weren’t and now they’re gone :-(

um... not to be rude but isn't not having Loki in the next Thor movie what you wanted? I can't help but remember a bunch of anti-Ragnarok posts about how Taika Waititi turned the franchise into a big joke and calling CH "Chris Odinson" who insulted TM? Wasn't it keep Loki away from that at all costs? I don't understand why you changed your mind...
Hi sorry this got buried in my notes and I didn't see it
I haven't really changed my mind? Sorta? I still think that Taika Waititi did a terrible job with Ragnarok. One of the things I liked about the Thor franchise was its darker themes, at least compared to the rest of the mcu (and I also liked Loki. Obviously) and TW just kinda smashed that up and replaced it with awful characterization and like, butt jokes (idk it's been forever since I've seen Ragnarok).
But ever since the Loki series, I've kinda been like...actually, can we go back to Ragnarok? Cuz despite the shittiness of that mess of a movie, at least it didn't give us false hope at representation. At least its creator never pretended to like Loki. And at least it gave us a few good moments (I did love that Loki used their horns as a weapon, and I did like Thor's power upgrade).
Obviously, I still prefer Thor 1 and 2. But I've lost all hope that the mcu will ever be as good as it once was.
Also, as Tom Hiddleston once said (I think, idk): there is no Loki without Thor, and no Thor without Loki.
Actually, I think that's another reason the Loki show sucked. Thor did not show up at all, and was rarely talked about. We all know how much Thor means to Loki ("I may be envious, but never doubt that I love you") so the fact that their love for Thor wasn't really addressed (or even mentioned) really bothered me.
So, having a Thor movie without Loki is like having a Loki series without Thor, in that it's inevitably going to suck (even more than I predict it still would with Loki in it).
Also, maybe it's the optimist in me, but I really, really want to believe that Taika can make a good Thor movie if he really tried (as in, correct characterization and all that). I am glad that he sees Jane Foster's Thor as the Mighty Thor instead of just "Lady" Thor (though I do have my anxieties about how he'll go about portraying Jane). I think that if he gave Loki a chance, he could see our favorite god of mischief as more than just a pampered jerk (like they were portrayed in more recent mcu projects) and instead as a broken but loveable trickster who has gone through so much and received so little.
So, to summarize my feelings: yes, I think that Taika did a bad job with both Thor and Loki in Ragnarok, but I do think that Love and Thunder will be even worse than Ragnarok if Thor's love of Loki is not acknowledged and if he doesn't bring Loki to life in the form of kid Loki or if Loki doesn't at least make a cameo. Because let's face it, Thor's story and Loki's story are tied together so tight that you can't possibly make anything good about one without the other
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, Loki was way, waaaayyyy worse in the comics (literally called themself the god of evil for a while) and Thor still missed them and brought them back. Also the fact that Thor thought of Loki more as his brother than Balder is pretty hilarious considering Balder has never tried to kill Thor and is also actually related to him
So, yeah. I at least want a Loki cameo because Thor and Loki are important to each other, dammit

“Its all fun and games, Until you catch feelings” - Masterlist
“Hello? Earth to Y/N?” Jane snapped her fingers in front of your face, bringing you out of you daze.
“Huh? Oh sorry, what were you saying?” You mumbled, shaking your head slightly.
“What’s the matter with you lately?” Darcy asked, looking intently at your face, “You walk around like you’re a zombie and it’s starting to scare me.”
You sighed, “It’s nothing, I’m just having trouble sleeping.” You replied, picking up your laptop and moving away from the table before they could pry more answers out of you.
Since Loki had left a month ago, you had been inconsolable, and unable to share your pain with anyone. No one would understand what it was like, or what you felt for him. You were a husk of your former self, walking around mindlessly and numb to the world. At night you barely slept, your mind was too awake, the pain of his final words haunted your dreams, and each time it replayed in your mind it felt as if you were reliving that moment over and over.
Unable to eat or sleep, you were like a walking ghost. Jane and Darcy had noticed and commented repeatedly but you didn't bother explaining to them, you didn't have the energy to.
You had seated yourself at a desk nearby in the dark lab. You were in New Mexico where Jane, Darcy and erik had gone out to investigate a mysterious weather event. You had opted to stay at the lab, you interest in astrophysics had rapidly decreased with Loki’s leaving you. They had been gone a couple of hours when you got a call from Darcy.
“Y/N, get to the hospital now.” she yelled into the phone.
“Oh god, what, why , what happened?” You said scrambling to your feet, grabbing your keys.
“Just get here!” Darcy yelled and then the line went dead.
Panic rising in your chest you ran out into the parking lot and got into your car, gunning it for the hospital. When you arrived at the hospital, you ran through the hallway, dialing Darcy’s number as you did.
“Where are you?” You asked breathlessly when she picked up.
“Turn around.” She replied, and you did. You see her, Jane and erik all standing hear the vending machine.
“What in the actual fuck?” You sighed, and walked over to them. “What’s going on guys?”
“Darcy hit a man with the van.” Jane stated.
“What?” You exclaimed,
“And she tasered him.” Jane added,
“Darcy!” You exclaimed again.
“He is fine! He is also very hot.” She replied shrugging “But he was freaking me out.”
You sighed, in relief that none of them were hurt and then listened as Jane explained the event that had occured. Your heart hammering in your chest as she did, that sounded entirely like the bifrost being used. You knew this from story’s Loki had told you.
You try to remain as calm as possible, all the way back to the lab. Jane is talking insane amounts on the event that occured, while you sat silently in the back. Trying to calm your mind.
When you were eventually able to escape to your room, you lay down on the bed and curled up into a ball. Unable to hold back the torrent of tears that came gushing forth.
“Thor? Thor? As in the Norse mythology? God of Thunder Thor?” Erik asked, sounding panicked. He laughed nervously.
You sat on the couch, eyes closed, trying to shut out their arguing. Turns out the guy Darcy hit was actually a God from outer space, not that you were surprised but it was exhausting pretending you were shocked by all this.
Jane and you had gotten into an argument over this, and you were tired of it all. This field just reminded you of Loki, and you couldn't do it anymore. And now Thor showing up, it just made everything worse for you, you were trying to get away from any thought of Loki, and all this kept sucking you right back in.
Thor was Loki’s brother, he had mentioned him several times already, that was the only reason you were still paying attention to this cluster fuck.
The god of Thunder kept glancing at you as he spoke to Jane, a curious look on his face. “Who is she?” He asks Jane, pointing at you.
They all turned to face you, and you opened your eyes, looking at him in confusion.
“She’s my assistant, why?” Jane replied.
Thor narrowed his eyes at you, as if he knew something. But he didn't respond to Jane, instead he walked over and towered over you, just looking at you.
“Well this isn't creepy at all.” You said sarcastically then stood up, sliding passed him. “I’m going home, let me know when this freak show is over.”
You walked out before anyone could stop you. You weren't interested in Thor or anything to do with Loki. Not after he left you, pretty much broken. No contact, no closure, nothing.
You had wandered about for a while trying distract yourself from your thoughts. Seeing a neon sign for dingy bar nearby you headed towards it, drowning yourself in alcohol seemed like a great idea in the moment.
Once inside, you found a booth in the corner and ordered multiple drinks for yourself, ignoring the patrons around  you. There were a few people in the bar, the music played loudly, and people talked even louder.
You have drink after drink, soon you begin to feel the tingle of the alcohol in your system and it delights you. For the briefest of moments you feel less numb than you had in a while, Loki leaving you had turned you into a self loathing pretty much borderline alcoholic, as pathetic as that was.
It was late when you finally stumbled out of the bar, you were drunk. It probably wasn't safe for you to be walking around in this state but you did it anyway. You didn’t care what happened to you. Stumbling along the pavement, you make your way towards your home.
Without thinking you step off the curbside and into the intersection, and it happens in the flash of a second. There’s headlights and a car horn and you looked to the left seeing a car come barreling towards you, and you freeze. Already knowing what’s about to happen you shut your eyes and brace for the impact but it never arrives.
Instead you feel a cool arm slip around your waist and the whoosh of a breeze across your face and when you opened your eyes, you were in the arms of Loki, staring into his beautiful green eyes, then you’re free falling through the air.
The second your feet touched the ground you shoved Loki away from you and stumbled backwards drunkenly. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” You yelled at him.
“Saving your life.” Loki replied calmly.
“I don’t need your help!” You shouted again, trying to steady your now swaying self. The adrenaline alcohol working together and knocking your equilibrium off balance.
Loki moved closer to you and steadied you by placing his arm around your waist. “Yes you do.” He said, again calm and cool.
“Let go of me.” You said, trying to shove him away but Loki held you firmly, not letting go.
“Could you please calm down?” He said, with slight annoyance in his voice.
“No.” You snapped and then hit him in the chest, your movements barely phasing him.
Loki sighed deeply and then touched your head with the palm of his hand and you instantly pass out in his arms. He catches you as you go slack, looking over you with a disappointed look on his face.
Ahh what am I to do with you my love.” He murmured.
When you awoke, the sky was still dark out and you were in your bed. Your mouth dry as cotton and your head pounding. Consuming copious amounts of alcohol was probably not the best idea. You groaned softly and moved to get out of the bed, throwing back the covers you see you are in a pair of shorts and one of your tank tops.
‘Loki’ You thought bitterly.
“Yes, me.” A voice comes from the corner of the room causing you to scream out in fright.
“Loki! What the fuck!” You yelped almost falling over your own feet, clutching your chest in surprise.
“You’re welcome by the way.” He muttered, stalking towards you.
You immediately back away from him, ‘What, no why are you still here?” You hissed.
“You are destroying yourself.” Loki said softly, there was that sudden kindness and love that you had seen in his eyes before. Before he walked out on you and crushed your soul, and you hesitated for a moment, as you looked at him.
“You destroyed me…” You whispered pained. You loved him, of course you still loved him, he was that one great love in your life that only came once in a lifetime, how could you ever stop loving him.
“Y/N...my love” He murmured reaching out to you but you stepped out of his reach and turned suddenly wanting to get out of the bedroom. It was stifling you being in their with him and you needed water.
Loki followed you as you marched into the kitchen and flipped on the light switch, he was wordless as he watched you yank open the fridge and pour yourself a glass of water before you sat down at the table and slumped your head into your arms on it.
“Can we talk now?” Loki said quietly, you feel him slip into the chair beside you, his hand on the back of your chair.
“What is there to talk about Loki?” You muttered, your voice muffled by your arms. “You walked out on me, you broke me, you left me to self destruct.”
“I did what I had to do, love.” Loki replied, “It was for the best.”
“The best for who?” You suddenly exclaim lifting your head up and looking at him. “Certainly not me! I mean look at me!” you gestured to your disheveled self.
“It was for your own good Y/N.” He said, with a sigh. “You wouldn’t understand. It was what needed to be done at the time.”
“Of course I wouldnt understand,I’m just a pathetic mortal right?” You sneered, sadly at him.
“You were never pathetic to me…” Loki said softly, then hesitated for a moment as he lifted his hand to your face and then he touched you,and you immediately shudder at his touch, closing your eyes. Your mind is flooded with memories of his cool finger tips grazing your body, his soft kisses on your skin and then those memories are overshadowed by the darkness of the heartbreak he left you with. When you open your eyes, you rage is fuelled again.
“You are still as beautiful as the day I first met you.” Loki said, brushing a strand of your hair behind your ear.
“Please leave…” You replied, not looking at him, fearing what looking into his eyes might do to your already fragile heart.
“Don’t you miss me, Love?” Loki asked, quietly, lovingly, tenderly.
“Please don’t” You whispered, fearful of getting sucked back into loving him so fervently.
“I missed you, Love.” he murmures, leaning in an touching his lips to your bare shoulder.
“Lo, please don’t say it.” You begged quietly, unable to move from beneath his touch. You needed him like your body needs air to survive. This was all your heart desired.
“I love you.” Loki whispered, that was all it took and you caved. You looked at him, into those endless green eyes of his and you knew you were his. That was all it took for him to ensnare you in his spell again.
Your lips crash against his, wrapping your arms around his neck as he lifts you out of your seat. Loki effortlessly carries you back to the bedroom, and lays you down gently. Not breaking the kiss once. Your mind is frenzied, and he kisses you and slowly begins to undress you. You wanted this, needed this. He was the love of your life, a bond so strong you couldn’t explain it, of course if he wanted you , he could have you and so you succumbed to him. Sighing his name lovingly as he made love to you that night.
You jolted awake a few hours later, the twilight breaking over the horizon. Pulling the covers around you tighter, a sudden realization hits you. The bed is empty beside you , and you sit up slowly when you see a folded piece of paper on the pillow.
Your heart immediately sinks and you reach for it. Silently praying it’s not what you think it is. With shaking hands you slowly pick up the letter and open it. Your heart hammering in your chest as you read it.
“I’m sorry. You deserve the sun, and the moon, the entire cosmos but I cannot give you what you need.
You truly were one of a kind
I loved you with all my heart.
Goodbye my beloved”
You stared blankly at the letter in your hands, you feel yourself begin to shake with rage as the tears fell freely onto your cheeks.
You closed your eyes and then a terrifying anguished scream erupted from you. Your abilities overpowering you for a moment and everything in the room went flying out of place, the glass items and windows shattering, the wood splintering as your rage swept across the apartment, wrecking everything in its path.

Marvel’s fourth stage of movies--- what I agree with and what I’d replace. (part 1)
Marvel’s fourth phase is both movies and TV.  I am just going to deal with the movies side of things.
Here is the list from Wikipedia.
1 Black Widow (2020)
2 Eternals (2021)
3 Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)
4 Untitled Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel (2021)
5 Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
6 Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
In general I don’t have a problem with these movies on their own right, but in terms of a tapestry of films, I’m not going to lie...I’m preparing to be a little disappointed. This looks a lot more like phase 2 where half the movies were forgettable than phase 3 where only the Captain Marvel movie was a disappointment.
The Black Widow movie looks fantastic, but it is kind of weird that we get the movie we’ve wanted for the last 5 years... now that the character is dead.
Maybe there is a surprise in the works, but it seems like that movie is destined to show the past not the future of the Marvel movie universe.  On one had if that is the case it absolutely make sense to get it out as soon as possible while the product is hot, but shouldn’t it have been the last film of Phase 3?
The Eternals are an absolute shit product. They sucked in comics and there is a fairly good chance they will suck in the movies. On the positive side they have a good cast of actors... I can understand this one in phase four as it is likely going to throw an overlay down that expanding the Marvel Universe.  My problem is the Eternals suck.  They are like a blander version of the Inhumans....who stunk it up on TV.
Master of Kung Fu was an amazingly consistently engaging comic. It was Bruce Lee as James Bond.  It very much pulled the same levers to me as the marvel Conan comic, even though everything about the settings and the characters could not be more different. This is again a project that I think thematically should have been done in phase 2 or 3.
I can get that they didn’t want Shang Chi fighting aliens so I understand that wait, but Its again a head scratcher as the theme of the marvel movies seem to be arching towards space (a Kree/Skrull war?) How does this get you there?
It also appears to be a “make good” with Shang’s father Fu Manchu (a character with public domain variants) being replaced by a real “Mandarin” (the 10 rings)  to appease Marvel’s fans and investors.
A new Spidey movie is a requirement. You know it will be fun and light and refresh everyone’s batteries.
“Thor: Love and Thunder” brings back Jane Foster as female Thor.  That hit me as kind of pandering, but....when you think of the positives, it makes sense. Natalie Portman is a fantastic actress with great range.  She is far more than just someone’s girlfriend. And the female Thor comic story line was brilliant. Plus you can throw the male Thor into any movie and he works (even if he was supposed to be heading out to space), so...why not?
“Doctor Strange and the multiverse of madness” is like the Spidey film a requirement in my mind.  Strange is really a sorcery based Tony Stark, and the actor has room to grow in the hearts of marvel fans.  Exploring the multiverse is exactly the right kind of expansion needed to set up their next big story line.
But this is me complaining...so....what would I push instead? see part 2....

10 Characters Ryan Gosling Could Play In The MCU | ScreenRant
MCU fans went wild the other day when it was reported that Taika Waititi had been spotted taking Ryan Gosling out for lunch, because Waititi was recently confirmed to be writing and directing the fourth Thor movie and we all know that in Hollywood, lunch doesn’t just mean lunch – it means that movie stars are being pitched potential projects, contracts are being drafted up by agents and lawyers, and deals are being made.
RELATED: 10 Roles Ryan Gosling Has Taken On That Everyone Has Forgotten About
So, fans have been speculating about which character from the Marvel Comics universe the La La Land star might be playing if he joins the MCU. There are plenty he’d be well-suited for. So, here are 10 characters Ryan Gosling could play in the MCU.
10 Nova
Tumblr media
The MCU has already set the stage for Nova’s debut nicely. In Guardians of the Galaxy, the Nova Corps were introduced as the intergalactic police force protecting Xandar, and in Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos destroyed Xandar off-screen, likely killing most of the Nova Corps. In the comics, Richard Rider is the last surviving member of the Nova Corps when he takes on the superhero mantle of “Nova.”
His quirk is that he’s not ready to take on this responsibility, so Ryan Gosling could play the character as the same kind of bumbling buffoon he played in the underrated The Nice Guys, which would also suit the wacky comic tone set by Taika Waititi nicely.
9 Gorr
Tumblr media
Since Ryan Gosling met with Taika Waititi, there’s a good chance that if he does appear in the MCU (and that lunch wasn’t unrelated to the MCU, which is far more likely), it’ll be in Thor: Love and Thunder. Marvel fans were surprised to see that although Iron Man and Captain America got fitting send-offs at the end of Avengers: Endgame, Thor’s future in the franchise is open-ended.
Since he’s handing off his mantle and his kingdom in Love and Thunder, perhaps he will also die to complete his character arc and end his journey (and give Chris Hemsworth the chance to play a different character). This would be the perfect opportunity to introduce Gorr, “the Butcher of Gods,” and make him a serious threat by actually killing Odinson.
8 The Human Torch
Tumblr media
Ryan Gosling might be a little old to play Johnny Storm, since he’s the arrogant younger brother of Susan Storm who revels in the celebrity status that comes along with being a superhero and that’s a young man’s characterization, but he certainly has the charisma to pull it off.
RELATED: 10 Things The MCU's Fantastic Four Reboot Needs
Maybe the MCU will slightly change the Fantastic Four to differentiate them from past big-screen versions, like they did with Spider-Man. There’s a good chance that the Fantastic Four will be introduced in the cosmic corners of the MCU to explain why they’ve been absent for so long, so maybe they’ll make their debut in Thor: Love and Thunder.
7 Adam Warlock
Tumblr media
Marvel fans have been waiting to see Adam Warlock show up in the MCU for a while, and his debut might not be too far away, since he was created by the Sovereign in a mid-credits scene following Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The most popular fan casting for Adam Warlock has been Zac Efron, but there’s a school of thought that Ryan Gosling would also be a strong choice for the role.
He has the charming good looks, perfect facial structure, and luscious blond locks – not to mention the devilish leading-man charisma – to do Adam justice. This is a character whose power could match Thanos and Captain Marvel, so he needs to be done right.
6 Jane Foster’s new boyfriend
Tumblr media
Since Thor: Ragnarok confirmed Thor and Jane Foster’s off-screen breakup and Love and Thunder will revolve around her journey to becoming the new Thor, perhaps Ryan Gosling will play her new boyfriend. Chris O’Dowd played a guy she was in the earliest stages of dating in The Dark World (and then forgot he was even in the movie), but Gosling could play a guy she’s already in a long-term relationship with.
She could even have a husband played by Gosling – remember, it’s been six years since we’ve checked in on her and Love and Thunder is still another two years away, which is plenty of time to meet someone and settle down with them.
5 Moon Knight
Tumblr media
Kevin Feige has promised that Marvel is in the early stages of figuring out how to get Moon Knight into the MCU. Moon Knight is essentially Batman, Deadpool, and Thor rolled into one: he’s a mercenary (like Deadpool), who gave up being a mercenary and invested his money to become a billionaire who also moonlights as a masked vigilante (like Batman), and he got his powers from an ancient god (like Thor – well, a little like Thor; Thor is actually the ancient god himself, whereas Moon Knight has just been embodied by one).
RELATED: Everything You Need To Know About Moon Knight (& Why He Would Be Perfect For The MCU)
Anyway, Ryan Gosling would be a great choice to play Moon Knight. With multiple aliases and personalities outside of his superhero alter ego, the role of Marc Spector needs someone with serious acting chops.
4 Balder the Brave
Tumblr media
One of the few Norse mythology-based characters from the comics not to make it into Thor’s solo outings yet, Balder the Brave would be a fascinating character to introduce into Thor: Love and Thunder. Balder is one of Odin’s sons and a half-brother of Thor.
The tradition with the Thor movies seems to be to introduce new Asgardian warriors and, especially, new members of the Odinson bloodline into the fold. Casting Ryan Gosling as Balder (who was loosely based on Baldr, a god from the real Norse mythology) would be a great way to sell the character’s significance and win over skeptical fans.
3 Ghost Rider
Tumblr media
While Ghost Rider has made an MCU appearance in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and he’s due to get his own series on Hulu that will be unconnected from the movies, he has yet to make an appearance alongside Earth’s mightiest heroes on the big screen. Nicolas Cage’s two Ghost Rider movies sucked, and it wasn’t necessarily Cage’s fault – it was simply that the studio or the writers, or whoever was in charge, simply didn’t understand the character beyond the stuff on the surface.
Johnny Blaze is a guy fighting demons (both real and metaphorical) and with the way the MCU draws emotionally complex characters, they’d probably nail Ghost Rider – and Ryan Gosling would be well-suited to the role.
2 Norman Osborn
Tumblr media
The MCU is in need of a new big bad to build towards to fill that Thanos-sized hole in our hearts. Some fans have suggested Norman Osborn, who is primarily known as the Spider-Man villain the Green Goblin, but has the power, wealth, and ambition to pose a formidable threat beyond your friendly neighborhood web-slinger. Like Lex Luthor, Osborn’s greatest asset (apart from his pumpkin grenades) has always been his shady business prowess.
RELATED: 10 Iconic Marvel Villains That Could Be On The Way To The MCU
He built an evil empire on a slick sales pitch. Ryan Gosling has the charm to play Osborn as a snake oil salesman or a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It’s unlikely that Norman Osborn will be introduced in Thor: Love and Thunder, but hey, we don’t even know that that’s why Gosling took a meeting with Taika Waititi.
1 Beta Ray Bill

MCU fans have been dying to see Taika Waititi’s hilarious, revitalized Thor butt heads with a big-screen version of Beta Ray Bill. He’s an immensely powerful cosmic character and he’s been a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, who Thor was last seen with, so there’s probably an easy way to fit him into the God of Thunder’s fourth solo outing.
He also wielded Thor’s hammer in the comics, so he’d fit right into the worthiness-oriented plot of Love and Thunder. Someone really special would be needed to bring the obscure and criminally underrated Beta Ray Bill to the screen, so Ryan Gosling might be just the man for the job.
