It’s crudely drawn, of course, not really a portrait or a sketch or anything. But it’s something . Pat clearly has crayons rather than colouring pencils, but it’s undoubtedly him. His hair is fluffy and grey, there are two circles of pink on his cheeks, underneath his moustache two little teeth have been drawn in pen. He’s wearing a jumper and a blocky pair of blue trousers.

HMMMMMM I WONDER (it's PatCap). God I fucking love those two and the kinda rivals (to lovers) thing they got going on. And the way they show different forms of leadership. They're the same but they're different and AAAAAAAAAA

I think Kitty/Thomas. If Kitty wasn't portrayed as childish and kinda naive and shit then I wouldn't care but idk...always just kinda seems off to me. (and also CapVers but mainly cuz it's overrated) Like...I know Kitty isn't an actual child but idk. It very lowkey gives me same vibez as "WeLl TecHnIcAlLy tHeY'Re 3000 yEars OlD". Yeah she is an adult but just...idk it just kinda weirds me out a bit. Maybe it's a me problem but

18) What is your favourite Ghosts fanfiction?

okay so this is really hard because on one hand Seb you're fuckin amazing but on the other...you know what you did. BUT OOT IS SO GOOD EVEN THO AAAAAAAAA. But also @ghosts-of-love holy fuck you're writing is amazing and I adore (aha) your fics. I can't choose AAAAAAAAAAAAA. But Out Of Touch by @stop-saying-tootsie and Adored, LtF and TQATD are definitely the top of the list. Also, if you haven't read this PLEASE DO. I promise you nothing bad happens in Out Of Touch. OOT is filled with joy and whimsy :) there is no sarcasm in this at all (btw just to clarify, yeah that was all sarcastic. have fun!)

19) What is your favourite Ghosts fan art?

Oh fuck. I think one of my faves was Robin as a Pokemon trainer cuz i inspired it. Otherwise it's either gotta be this by @wattse or this by @kami-ships-it very beautiful artworks and great styles. Love the colours and textures.

38) It's your turn to pick a movie for film club! What are you watching?

:) :))) :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))) I am aboutta write a LOT :))))))))))))))))

OKAY SO, the first one that comes to mind is Handsome Devil. Would this essentially be emotional turmoil for Cap ? Absolutely yes but 1) I'd love to see him understand that times have changed and people are accepting of queerness and 2) it's a beautiful movie that I think all the ghosts could benefit from watching. Especially the Captain. It's about these two kids in an irish boarding school who form an unlikely friendship (Ned - outcast loner and Conor - rugby fiend loved by the school for his skills). PLEASE WATCH IT IF YOU HAVEN'T. Also the soundtrack for this movie is BEAUTIFUL and makes me go a lil insane every time I watch it. IT"S GOT ANDREW SCOTT AS A GAY ENGLISH TEACHER !!!

Otherwise, I'd also choose The Nice Guys. Fun detective buddy-cop movie and so far everyone I've showed it to has enjoyed it. I also think it'd start a really good discussion about sex work and the judicial system. Not necessarily in relation to each other but still. Fanny would definitely be shocked just at the opening scene but honestly, I think after some discussing she'd enjoy it too. Maybe. Julian definitely would. But it's fuckin hilarious and also heartwarming with the lil hint of found family.

OOH OR OCEAN'S 11 now there's some good found family with another stellar soundtrack. Or Knives Out. NOW THAT, Fanny would love. I think she'd like the twist of it not actually being about WHODUNNIT but if Marta can get away with it and then finding out THE OTHER twist. Although idk how she'd feel about the whole "family losing their inheritance" thing. Hmmm. Idk why Fanny's been the one I'm tryna impress here. I think cuz most of them would enjoy these without fuss but ya know...Fanny.

Okay, if i had to choose ONE :( it'd be Handsome Devil. I'd love to make the ghosts watch that and see who's crying by the end of it :) and see who's trying to be very indifferent about it *cough* cap *cough cough*

Second off, I am definitely planning to write a sequel for The Quick and the Dead! Similarly to the first one, it’s planned out as a lengthy oneshot, which I’ll link to the first one on AO3 as a series. I probably won’t get to it until this fall though-- Halloween spirit is required to write that spooky story! 

I don’t have a lot of the sequel written, but I do have this summary (which, heads up, reads as fluffier than this story is going to be? the sequel is very much going to be in the same vein as TQATD): 

Elena teaches Klaus about the 21st century. Parts of it go well. Other parts don’t. He’s a terrible and frightening student. Also: weird dreams, diners, thralls, mall trips, betrayals, meeting the family, unnecessary and unwanted romantic feelings, and maybe a date to the prom. 

Check in with me again this fall and we’ll see where we are!

i'm not sure i can do a director's commentary on the entirety of tqatd so will just go for the first chapter! i'm gonna read it now and write down my thoughts as i go along:

I remember being really unsure about how much detail to put in the ao3 summary about Cap being a vampire or whether to keep it vague. I think I found a nice middle ground – some people know from the get-go and some people start chapter two and are like “omg that’s what this is” and I enjoy that!

always proud of using the word trepidatious in the first line :)

oh I’ve tried to explain this before but I do really like the alternating perspectives in this fic – it’s the first one I’ve written where the different perspectives are included in the same story and I like choosing which bits to overlap and which bits characters would want to skirt past. I also just enjoy the different ways that Pat and Cap speak and think!

Obsessed with how immediately unwelcoming Cap is, it’s hilarious.

“The facade is 16th century.” He explains tiredly, “And Henry VIII actually dined here once.” → one thing about me is that I LOVE including actual lines from the show! i will always find a way to shoehorn my favourite bits (because then you know exactly how they would be said, although in this instance i've given Cap some of Alison's lines haha)

Pat could probably live five lifetimes before finishing every book in this bloody house. Hehehoho minor foreshadowing.

“I don't want…” The Captain pauses at Pat’s bedroom door with a resigned slump to his shoulders, “I don’t want to toot our own horn but some say this is the finest house in the county.” He says quickly.  AND AGAIN with the lines from the show!!

the Captain opens the boot, but not before he flinches slightly at the little ‘bib bib’ noise that it makes. Choosing which modern technology will scare or confuse the Captain is great fun :D

I just wanted Cap to be as endearing as possible and also largely terrible at pretending to be a normal human, on account of he spent the last 70 odd years in the company of a witch and some ghosts. (this is in response to him pretending that the box of books is heavy)

love the phrase “bitter gusto” – such a Pat-in-his-feelings-trying-to-unpack-his-car-and-see-the-bright-side kind of vibe

him cutting his hand on the grater was what prompted me to think about and then write the other hand scene in the later chapters. (more on that later in response to a different ask)

but the whole garden has obviously long since been forgotten. OUCH I forgor about this

He leans against the counter, looking more relaxed than Pat has seen him all day. Love the fact that Cap saw some blood and immediately had to yeet himself away to feed and then became more normal and friendly after that lol

the whole bit where they’re trying to fix the water pressure and the captain is SOOOO obviously asking the plague ghosts and Pat just thinks he’s scared, it gets me every time. I can see it so clearly in my mind. The ‘gah!’ noise is like the same thing he does in the show in response to Jemima I think? Or at least it meant to have the same vibe.

He’s sure the Captain smiles back at him, but he can’t have noticed him because he just…keeps walking until they both knock into each other roughly. This also makes me laugh a lot!! another symptom of the captain only having lived with ghosts for a long time.

The TV already being on when Pat wants to eat his noodles is because Kitty is the one watching West Side Story (love how Pat says it’s not his favourite musical) – she also goes and tells the Captain that Pat has fallen asleep and that ‘he might get lost trying to get back to his room in the dark, Captain!!’

“Sleep well.” He tells him.//The Captain smiles at him like they’re sharing a private joke. He’s so silly and endearing I love him!!

🌟 for lost then found - I actually reread most of it yesterday because I saw a photo of Larry wearing glasses while reading from the ghosts book and I vaguely thought to myself “hey his glasses are similar to the Captain’s. And then I paused and reminded myself that the Captain doesn’t wear glasses and got confused because I was sure I’d had this conversation with myself before and was imagining both Humphrey and the Captain wearing similar glasses and I finally realised it’s because I fucking wrote it in Lost then Found that they have the same glasses!! extremely silly behaviour of me but a part of the fic that I do like because it sits nicely in the ‘Cap is slowly opening up and getting to know people’ bit I think, in that he’s choosing to wear the glasses in front of people, and helping Humphrey out with school stuff.

ok so there's only two more chapters of tqatd left, would you like both at the same time? normally i do chapters in 2s to avoid odd numbers BUT 5s also don't count so i'm fine to leave it on chapter 15 while i write the last chapter. i could feasibly be done with chapter 15 soon ish but i have a lot more of chapter 16 i think so it would be a longer wait. idk much to consider
