I think some people who complain about the timeless child arc ruining the mystery of doctor who are probably just casual new who fans who have built up an idea of who the doctor is based only on new who, and then are complaining about things that are completely irrelevant without realising

Like I see people saying that the timlords sshouldve stayed mysterious beings we hardly ever see (I see this criticism aimed at Moffat too), but in classic who the timelords are just There. Quite a few times. I think part of this is people forget/don't realise the time war was a very recent thing

Or people complain that it ruins the mystery of the doctors origins and backstory but we already knew a lot of the doctors backstory. The only thing that really creates mystery is the fact there's multiple conflicting accounts, and the timeless child could just be another conflicting account

one of the weirder dreams i had recently was being in a con hotel and i didnt have a room to sleep in so i just walked around the various hallways and stairs to make myself look like i belonged and i kept going down halls nobody else went until i hit a factory underneath the hotel with a train system underground that i then climbed onto a train and had to get across before anybody saw me, to which i entered into the con and needed $50 to buy a figurine that was sitting on the floor in the worlds longest carpeted hallway with hundreds of tables set up, and while decising if $50 was worth it a volcabo erupted outside and was throwing meteors made of lava across town that i has to run away from until i came upon an open air brick building by a shoreside that a bunch of kids were aleeping under in tens and bags and they all turned me away despite it being the safest place against the meteor lavas so i had to run through a park coveres in treea to dodge the lava meteora until i came upon a hollow in one and stuck myseld inside and then i woke up

Especially because like.. in the US, people are like oh we have the national parks every thinfs is great we are the leaders in conservativing species and habitat and then the moment like a wolf leaves the part they organize hunting parties (different people sure but still)

And like oregon and that area, lots of trees and stuff, but a lot of it is "sustainable tree farms, totally a replacement for actual forest yes the animals can live here (talking about the fucking... deer only) who cares about salamanders, and nothing can grow on the forest floor? Eh who cares and they plant the trees like corn? Why does that matter it's not like trees need space and variety and other plants or anything and the animals do too. Oh and we're cutting it all down again every 60 years. Its fine it's great it's a replace for the old growth forests and the three hundred year old treea and even when that doesn't happen the fires kill them or the heatwave right after the fire and aghhh
