Yakumo babies his best friend Hina.

It's a known joke.

Most of their friends think it's cute.

It actually is. Yakumo is a nosy nag and he's been with Hina since preschool. She does have a crush on him, but she's mostly immune to his good looks at this point. Everybody is. His strict personality makes him way less attractive to the average teen girl. Yup. That's right. There's no competition. Yakumo is too naggy and Hina is too useless. The perfect couple.

He is super controlling and she does get frustrated. Try to remember that they don't start dating at all until the finale. The fact that he manages her shedule is extremely strange.

They joke about it too, but Yakumo has a serious obsession. Yes. Yes he does put a child safety leash on her sometimes how did you know?

He does her chores.

He makes her lunch.

He's there all the dang time.

When she gets mildly injured he behaves like this.

Also Hina is dumb but that's ok. Her friends parents and relatives already know Yakumo will take care of her. They're just waiting for the budding couple to grow up and notice that they're probably more than friends.

He's so delusional it is funny.

Even when she fails her classes he loads praise onto her.

GPS.

He goes into denial and he agonizes over her purity a bit but Hina really shines at this point.

She tells him that's dumb.

She's a teenage girl not a kitten, and she's very attracted to him.

They date and live in codependent bliss forever.
