Photography is a tool that helps to inscribe individuals, objects and places in the construction of our memory. However, in an image, various circumstances will determine the unconscious discrimination of certain elements. Through this exercise I explore this phenomenon seeking to provoke the questioning of the personal processes that lead us to the registration and partial permanence of an identity in the image.

Exhibited at the first edition of the contemporary collage festival —and good vibes— Paste Up mx at the Casa Equis gallery.

some fragments of 2023-- #artvsartist #artvsartist2023 • flabbergasted to have exhibited work in chicago, philadelphia, minneapolis and saint paul and internationally in india, ukraine, spain, germany, estonia and australia with many other incredible artists who inspire me • thrilled to have work published in numerous places, but some of the most personally exciting this year were being published in @createmagazine, @semioculus and working with @betterhomesanddykes on the cover of their first issue • made twelve new zines in my monthly zine project, put out a new issue of SOFT SUTURES, several other larger personal zine projects, gave a talk as part of a zine workshop at @wetpaintart in saint paul (thanks to @shanicejacksonellison and @sleopoldsullivan) • zine fests, book fairs, popups! so many amazing events, but some of my favorites were multiple formats in boston, autonomous zine fest in minneapolis, the first annual twin cities queer & trans zine fest, new editions at minnesota center for book arts, cafac redhot art market • a goal of mine for this year was to try and do more local events and popups, which @sleopoldsullivan gave me much support and encouragement for • traveled to vienna and berlin with my aunt to see family, have an adventure and take an artist book class • had my first artist residency at @directanglepress in new hampshire with @jeremypbushnell • lots of print and publishing projects including some new @nonmachinable titles, @morphicrooms WEBS, a collaborative issue of CUT LOOSE with @twincitiescollagecollective/@wildercollage, some other @morphicrooms things we haven't revealed yet • finally got a diagnosis and surgical intervention for endometriosis, which i'd been navigating symptoms of for about 25 years. i'm a few months past surgery and it's changed my life a lot! i'm grateful that i was able to access the care i needed and have some of these things addressed • pals new & old, lots of community, grateful for it!
