M2 has released the first key visual, prologue, and player aircraft details and artwork for Ubusuna, the upcoming shoot ’em up from Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga creator Hiroshi Iuchi. A 14-minute “Soundtrack EP” video was also released.
The game’s prologue and aircraft details are as follows:
Prologue
Genhō-no-kuni—a peaceful republic that has worshipped the divine bird Hōō as its presiding deity from time immemorial.
Chief Mishinagi governs the country on a principle of pacifism, with three Wingbearers—the defenders of the land and chosen holders of the divine relics Hōu-kesshō—at his service.
However, for the past eight years the country has seen repeated aggressions, purportedly by the forces of its neighboring country.
The Wingbearers Gashujō, Shinogami, and Amakaze have only narrowly been able to hold their ground against their opposer’s military technology of heretofore unseen refinement, such as high-mobility weaponry and aerial fleets.
The attacks, in truth, have been instigated by the military of Genhō, in a plot to induce political upheaval.
Finding its recent activities suspicious, Mishinagi launches a covert investigation, but is assassinated by its Intelligence Agency shortly thereafter.
The news of his death triggers public outrage; the citizens of Genhō have tolerated the neighboring country’s aggressions out of their respect for the pacifist doctrine, but now their resentment and their disillusionment with the weak-kneed government erupt, causing further turmoil on both sides of the border.
In the absence of a Chief, Parliament is left to address the chaos—but its members are divided into those who advocate delegating more power to the military, and those strongly opposed to this idea.
Furthermore, it labels the members of the opposition as traitors, and starts taking them into custody on its own authority.
Now with the pro-military faction prevailing, Parliament declares Gashujō, who is the leader of the Wingbearers and a younger brother to Mishinagi, to be a Possessor of Higher Knowledge, and elects him as new Chief.
Unaware that he is being manipulated, Gashujō makes a speech to the public, and succeeds in temporarily quelling down the civil unrest.
Still, Parliament and the public keep pressing him for a quick resolution to the border conflicts, which leaves him no choice but to give increased power to the military.
Meanwhile Shinogami and Amakaze, who are still under the false accusation, infiltrate the official residence of the Chief, in the hope of contacting Gashujō to plead their innocence. But the Intelligence Agency quickly detects their plan.
Sensing that they have been discovered, the two Wingbearers hasten to evacuate the site. To fight off the pursuers, they activate their Hōu-kesshō and enter the air combat mode—.
Hou-kesshō
In the distant past, a crystalline object that held great power descended from the sky. It was named Ubusuna, and Hōu-kesshō derive from this mysterious object.
Like many cultures, Genhō has its own myths of world creation and of salvation. They sometime mention Ubusuna—but it is unknown how much, if any, of them are based on historical facts.
To the present day, Hou-kesshō have been passed down through generations of Wingbearers.
As the extent of their power is revealed orally by Wingbearers to the succeeding Wingbearers only, for the rest of the world much of their nature is shrouded in mystery.
Today, Hou-kesshō are seen almost exclusively in times of emergency, used defensively in their air combat mode.
The key to their activation is an ancient relic shaped like a feather of the Hōō.
In the hands of a Wingbearer, the Feather can conjure an annular device called Kinkoji into the air.
When the Wingbearer dives through the Kinkoji, flight equipment outfitted with powerful weapons is transferred upon them.
There are three extant Hou-kesshō, each entrusted to Gashujo, Shinogami, Amakaze—the three incumbent Wingbearers.
Shown here are TYPE-1, the Hou-kesshō held by Shinogami (PLAYER-1), and TYPE-2, which is held by Amakaze (PLAYER-2).

In a message during today’s M2 ShotTriggers Broadcast 2 #1, Ubusuna director Hiroshi Iuchi said that development on Ubusuna is steadily progressing, but there was another big change earlier this year in that the game shifted designers. Additionally, the game’s mechanical design, modeling, and so on have all been completely redone from the start.
In the 4Gamer.net article that hosted the exclusive reveal the new Ubusuna images above, Iuchi added the following:
Late last year, I was having trouble finding designers and modelers. So I put out a call for designers on my personal website, which was then published as an article on 4Gamer. The person who saw that article and reached out to me was Kususaga Rin, who is now handling the art direction, mechanical design, and modeling. You may have heard of him.
While I have worked at the same company as him before, this is the first time we are working together on a project. I knew he was a hard worker from back then, but it’s taken about 20 years for us to start working together.
And so, through his introduction, we have assembled a team of outstanding designers to create Ubusuna. Our development team is a matter of luck, including time and circumstance. And so I am grateful for the good fortune that led to our current team through 4Gamer.
Ubusuna was first announced for PlayStation 4 in August 2014. It has been a while since then, and current platforms are yet to be confirmed.

Ghost Hunt x My Hero Academia Part 2
Ghost Hunt doesn't have any characters that could really constitute as a 'villain.' Just adversaries and ghosts according to their various investigations.
However...
If they (and by 'they' I am including the ghosts as though they were living people in this crossover) were to have Quirks, this is what I imagine two of them would have. I was going to do a post with all of them, and I still might, but these two are the ones I'm most interested in right now:
Trigger Warning for disturbing themes and violence, but nothing more serious what's already canon in Ghost Hunt.
Ubusuna Kei - Hexer
Quirk: Compulsion
I think hers would be a lot like Shinsou's, except instead of needing target to verbally respond to her, her method of gaining control of someone would have more of Death Note flair. All she needs to activate her Quirk is knowing her target's name and what they look like, which is how the hitogata dolls work in canon.
Everybody in My Hero's Quirk would be formidable if they turned villain, but there is an extra element of unsettling to a villain who only needs to say, "Turn around, put your arm through the train door as it closes, and let yourself be dragged," or, "Throw yourself into the sewer."
Ubusuna was not as threatening as other adversaries who appeared in Ghost Hunt, but the unsettling element of her character was her complete lack of remorse in what she did to her students and fellow teachers. Bullies, sure, but the cold-hearted and systematic process of 'removing' them all one by one is true psychopath behavior.
...
Miyama Kaneyuki - Urado
This guy is probably the one I'd be the most interested in featuring as a villain in a My Hero Academia/Ghost Hunt crossover, simply for the insidious nature of his personality and how his Quirk would function. Urado is already a terrifying figure in canon: the ghost of a serial killer still committing murder long after death and powerful enough to keep two other spirits on his leash as assistants.
Miyama Kaneyuki, Quirk:  Blood Essence
Translating Urado into a My Hero character with a Quirk, I imagine his soaking in the blood of young people to regain his youth and health is legitimately how his power would work.  He hires on people in his mansion who would be easy to disappear:  runaways, disowned family, people with no living relatives, illegal foreigners, even fellow criminals if it comes down to it.  Since all he has to do is keep up his supply of blood, and having the wealth and political connections to cover up his crimes, he’d probably be much older than he appears, likely stealing the identities of his son, grandson, then great-grandson.  Complicating matters, remember that Miyama was a noted philanthropist, establishing children’s homes and charity hospitals.  All to feed his obsession, but this also presents him as a pillar of his community.  Then there’s the fact that in canon, his granddaughter was married to Japan’s prime minister, so he would also have his claws in the government as well, which makes him someone the Commission would be hesitant to investigate for fear of exposing the corruption within their ‘shiny’ system.
To that end, if Urado is able to take on the youth of his victims, then it also stands to reason that he’s stealing their ‘essence’ itself, and that may include their Quirks.  I have the idea that his blood Quirk is similar to All For One’s but the major drawback to Urado’s is his theft of Quirk factors is as temporary as the stolen youth is.  As the blood from one victim is used up and the youth he obtained from them fades, the Quirk he stole becomes weaker and weaker until it’s no longer usable and it disappears forever.  How long the effects last would be dependent on the rate he needs to steal blood to maintain his age.
So it’s kind of an combination of both All For One and Toga’s Quirks, only his sole focus is desperately clinging to his immortality.  Because altogether, that is what shaped what little of a personality Urado had in canon:  He did not want to die and he went to monstrous lengths to prevent his death.
Oh, yeah, and each and every one his targets are young people. You know, the majority of My Hero's cast.

Ghost Hunt Project Update
So far I've summarized the main points I want to focus on for the first three books, as outlined here:
Book One:
Each novel builds on the social price of being a "weird" kid growing up in a collectivist society. We're first introduced to Mai, who's interested in weird things in a way that that doesn't push the boundaries of her society. When eerie things begin to happen in the old school, she sees first hand in her classmate who *does* push those boundaries what that social price is: gossip that will stay with her forever, and affect her life forever, as high school experiences are clung to, far, far into adulthood. High school is the last time kids are considered kids, free of the pressures of oncoming adulthood (which is bullshit, as seen by how gossiped about and isolated Mai's classmate becomes.
Book Two:
The second book hones in on how events that push the credulity of a collectivist society effect an individual family. Mai initially makes the same assumption about what happened in her first encounter with the supernatural at her school because it no longer pushes that incredulity as much as it did before she met Naru and the others. As with the family, she's hoping for an answer to what's happening that won't upset their place in the community. The most affected character in the book is far, far younger than Mai and the others, which ups the stakes of the events affecting her life from a much younger age. Mai also gets to know the other adults much better, and her powers begin to assert themselves, beginning her journey towards Otherness.
Book Three:
Back in a school setting, Mai once again finds herself facing directly the consequences of nonconformity, as a young adult, getting closer and closer to true adulthood-- a point in her life that she's expected to drop any "childish" belief. The hitch this time is that there's an adult in the mix who clearly struggles with surviving life as a weird adult, and takes that out on SPR's client, Kasai, a genuine psycho-kineticist. The adults in SPR are incredibly split on whether Kasai is the victim or the villain, which reveals much of the baggage they still hold from surviving being a weird kid and making it to adulthood. As Mai sees how seemingly easy it is for psychic ability to destroy a person and make them willing to destroy another's life, she hopes she *doesn't* have those powers-- but she does, and her journey to Otherness is now officially on its way.
This is it so far-- as I'm using the books only, there won't be anything on the Christmas episode or the ghost in the park episode. Forbidden Past-time will be the most meaty book as far as making my primary point that surviving being a weird kid is more worth it than anyone could ever imagines it would be-- especially when right before Mai's powers are confirmed, she sees one of the worst case scenarios for becoming not just a weird, but a creepy, bitter, manipulative adult.
Miss Ubusuna is such a skin-ceawlingly disgusting character, and to counterpoint her with Naru (and Gene, before he shuffled off the mortal coil) (who were kept near-entirely out of the public eye) and Mai, who's only just discovering that otherness and clearly fears it, was such a fantastic writing decision on Ono's part. Even before the readers know Naru's true identity, he sympathizes with Ubusuna to a surprising degree, though cannot justify her near-murder of her work colleagues and the unbearly cruel ways she screwed with Kasai's head.
Getting through Forbidden Past-time will take forever because with Yasu we finally get into queer otherness and Ono's most scathing indictment of the Japanese school system to date. What happens when someone doesn't survive being a weird kid? What happens when, unlike Ubsuna, they do take the step to end their life?

Fuyumi Ono Q&A (Part 1)
I fell asleep🧍‍♀️🧍‍♀️🧍‍♀️🤣🤣🤣Was so tired last night to edit/format this fsdfsdf There are a lot of questions asked so I estimate there will be 3-4 parts of this (as usual with the old scans I have, it 's rather hard to see some characters due to the state of the copy, so I will post by batches at a time besides posting other updates). I will post the fanarts in the future as well, but will have to see if I can get my old laptop to run ( it has become a slowpoke & troublesome throughout the years but hopefully I can retrieve my old files soon).
Shibuya Branch Office
I have finally cleared my workload and am ready to launch a *new series.
Truthfully, we should have launched it in March. Ho-ho.
However, we have not decided on the illustrator for the new series yet. Even if the manuscript is ready, it will not be published into a book, which is the main deal of all this, if we don’t fix that...
Q1: How do you decide who will illustrate the books?
The author usually makes the request first. After a discussion with people in the publishing house, they decide who they would like to work with and ask if they can work with them. The illustrators have their own circumstances, so it is actually very rare that the author’s request is granted easily.
…As that is the case, only god knows when the book will be released… Aha-ha-ha (powerless laugh)
Requests for illustrators are still possible right now ⭐️Write to this person! Come write a letter to “the editor in charge of Fuyumi Ono”⭐️
Q2: Will there be any new characters in the second part of the Evil Spirits series? (Also, will Madoka-san appear regularly?)
I am not sure if Madoka-san will regularly appear. She might not appear in Volume 1… I have a hunch… But… I wonder (this author is random).
A new character will appear. What kind of person they are is still a secret⭐️Let’s just take note that they will be Naru’s rival (laughs).
Q3: I have a question about “I Can’t Sleep Due to the Abundance of Evil Spirits”. Ubusuna-sensei cursed Naru with hitogata made through Enmi, and a passage says that “Kazuya Shibuya” was written on it. But I just realized that Naru is “Oliver Davis,” so “Kazuya Shibuya” should not be his real name. So why was the curse directed towards Naru? Is it possible to get cursed as long as the target is fixed, even though it is not their real name? This is one among many questions I have.
In such cases like curses, it is said to be more effective on an alias than a real name. That is why celebrities change their stage name according to **onomancy.
Q4: In “I Can’t Sleep Due to the Abundance of Evil Spirits,” various people like Silvio Meyer, Nina Kulagina, Edgar Cayce, and Jeane Dixon were mentioned, but do all of them exist in real life?
Each of them, ***except the Davis brothers, are real people. However, ****Taunus-san doesn’t exist in real life. A person named Taunus might exist though. ...I am really an idiot (;_;)
That’s right, I received many comments that the Fudō Myō-ō seal “may be wrong.” There are two theories on the documents I have on hand, and certainly, there is a strong possibility that they are indeed wrong in number (Ho-ho). Whether it’s a different view or an error in the documents themselves, it is currently being investigated, so please bear with it for a while (The documents are not to be read, but to be grappled with, aren’t they…?).
Q5: Is “Fuyumi Ono” your real name? One more question: What I’ll be asking might be unrelated, but you’re a woman, right?
“Fuyumi" is my real name. It has no meaning besides that I was born in winter. My sex is female. I have never had a DNA test done(^_^;)
Q6: What kind of clubs have you been a part of?
I have been in various clubs including track-and-field, theater, and brass band (I am a jack-of-all-trades…).
Q7: What is the length of the novels you write? For example, in “Sea of Wind, Shore of Labyrinth (1)”, how many hundreds of sheets of paper with 400 characters each are there?
Usually, it’s about 400 pages. I think "Sea of Wind~ (1)" is about 260 pages. Since the paper is thicker in WH, the book will be thicker than TH, even with the same number of pages.
Q8: Will you abandon a rejected manuscript? Naru and the others won’t save you even if something too good for a ghost shows up. Haha
I will not abandon it. I will use it when I get the chance.(^_^)
Q9: Will this newspaper continue even when the second part of the Evil Spirits series has been released? Will the short stories too?
It will continue. Rest assured.
🥰
NOTES:
*New series refers to Akumu no Sumu Ie at the time of this Q&A (around 1994?). This seems back when all the short stories have not been fully released as well.
**Onomancy is fortune-telling of a person’s name. The reasoning for why aliases prove more effective to be used in curses is probably due to the specificity that it is made or chosen. That is, one can have the same real name (same Chinese characters & character strokes for Japanese names, for example) as someone else, but those who have the same real names might have different nicknames, especially or uniquely referring to them. Onomancy helps in choosing lucky names, so that is probably why celebrities refer to it to make their stage names.
***Ono-sensei is simply saying Naru and Gene are fictional characters (i.e., there are no Davis twins with psychic powers in real life), not that she didn’t base their surname and so on on a real person. In retrospect and at first glance, this seems to go against what I mentioned before—that Naru and Gene could be based on real people—but she did not refute that (confirmation by omission?😅😅😅the compound word she used that means “except” can mean “in addition to” or “besides” as well). She clearly meant the psychics the asker mentioned are real people. The similarities of Andrew Jackson Davis’s life and abilities with Naru and/or Gene’s are still there and hardly coincidental (A.J. Davis retired in Boston, which is where Naru and Gene were born. He was also a medium). Also, this connection between A.J. Davis and Edgar Cayce is interesting (and these two were popular psychics in their respective centuries, with A.J. Davis being born first). There’s also the bit about A.J. Davis having a “guiding spirit”—which if you think about it, parallels the situation with Gene being Mai’s guiding spirit and telling her info no one else could have accessed. I think it’s safe to say that there are obvious connections here and there.
****Not sure if I got the name Taunus correctly. It can be either Towners or Thaunus too. Some foreign names in Japanese syllabification have no ready equivalent, and authors might create their own Roman alphabet spelling of it.
Silvio Meyer was said to be a Swiss psychic who has PK (there are only a few mentions of him in a few articles, but not an encyclopedia online). It was said he could bend metals, but he was caught cheating (Ubusuna-sensei seems to be a parallel of him, isn’t she?).
Nina Kulagina was said to be a Russian psychic with PK as well, and was also caught cheating many times lol.
Edgar Cayce was dubbed as "The Sleeping Prophet" since he was said to be a clairvoyant. He founded a non-profit research organization.
Jeane Dixon was said to be an American psychic and astrologer who foretold the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
Sea of Wind, Shore of Labyrinth is one of the volumes of Ono's other series, The Twelve Kingdoms.
I believe TH means Teens Heart and WH means White Heart. In full names, they are Kodansha X Bunko Teens Heart and Kodansha X Bunko White Heart; they are Japanese publishing imprints. TH has now been dissolved.
For fun, I ran onomancy on Mai and Naru's names! I will post translations of the interpretations soon as well since they seem interesting! I will also run the rest of the SPR gang's names XD See you on the next part!

Information finally lifted!! ︎ After half a year of development, we were finally able to deliver it!! ︎ Waterproof waste plastic case for GPS tag MAMORIO that can be attached to road bike saddles! ! The client is Ubusuna Co., Ltd., which operates a nationwide rental cycle business in Shikanoshima, including Shikashima Cycle. First of all, I put in an O-ring for waterproofing, and had a hard time adjusting the fitting considering the shrinkage rate of the plastic... And in order to pass the melted plastic through the complicated gaps with the thinnest 1.5mm, we changed the material from PET bottle caps (PP and PE mixed) to polyethylene tanks (HDPE) and adjusted the melt. ︎ During the development, I happened to have a conversation with Mr. Kooku, President of Serejin Kyushu @serejin.kyushu, which has the largest waste plastic processing capacity in western Japan. Thank you very much. In the first place, it is difficult to adjust the melt with recycled waste plastic materials, but at this scale, we managed to adjust the mixing ratio of the same product. There is no need for secondary processing such as drilling, and we were able to achieve the requested all-black specifications! ︎ "Mix and melt adjustment" I learned! ︎ This level of waste plastic recycling products can be manufactured.
