Het Wagenveer op de nieuwe Maas en vaarde van de willemskade terhoogte van de Veerhaven naar Katendrecht.

Het Wagenveer was een veer-verbinding over de Nieuwe Maas in Rotterdam, die werd geëxploiteerd door de gemeentelijke rederij Heen en Weer. De naam Wagenveer werd van 1650 tot 1850 ook gebruikt als aanduiding voor een koetsverbinding, zoals het Gouds Wagenveer tussen Rotterdam en Gouda, maar hierna gaat het over de veer-verbinding.

Er waren in totaal 3 verbindingen tussen de noord- en zuidoever die met wagenveren werden onderhouden:

Willemskade - Katendrecht (1911 - 1914, 1922 - 1942)

Parkkade - Charlois (1927 - 1942)

Vlaardingen - Pernis / Vondelingenplaat (1951-1967, aanlegsteigers bij Petroleumweg en Tankhoofd)

De wagenveren waren voornamelijk bedoeld voor - zoals de naam al aangeeft - wagens. In de begintijd waren dat nog veelal door paarden getrokken wagens, ook wel sleperswagens genoemd. Hiervan konden er zestien per overtocht worden vervoerd. Al snel maakten ook personenauto's en vrachtauto's gebruik van deze veren. Voor passagiersvervoer werden door de rederij kleine veerboten ingezet. De komst van nieuwe vaste oeververbindingen maakte een einde aan de veerdiensten over de Nieuwe Maas.

Vanmorgen een heerlijk ontbijt gehad en lekker gekletst over de fietstochten die we allemaal hebben gedaan. Zo vertrokken wij rond kwart over negen. We waren net goed op weg toen we bij het pontje kwamen wat niet vaarde. Tenminste niet deze maand. Dus wij weer terug en op een andere manier, via de brug, naar de andere kant. Zo kwamen we weer terug op de route. Een ding was wel leuk 😻 de vlaggen…

So, the DA campaign has been going greeeeeat and everyone is totally fiiiiiine and, no, of course the corrupt Bann didn't put all the elves and orlesians to work at the darkspawn crater and attribute their Good Fortune to us and extort money in our name and finally reintroduce us to our missing friend who's very likely been tortured. We're not one failed willpower save away from murdering a Ferelden delegate and inciting a war haha who would do such a thing????

Devotion to the Light and Shadow

Hey! I don’t join Tumblr lately - still feeling weird everytime I use it - but that doesn’t mean I’m not working!

A year ago - more or less - I introduced you the first Sayaad sketches, a priestess who’s trying to find the balance between Light and Shadow. I’m playing Legion now and I’m absolutely in love with how they manage this polemic. So, that encouraged me to draw her more!

I’m still trying to get the right suit for her, but I can’t find in-betweens - it is too cultist alike, or not scary enough. Drawings’ suit is old and probably before Legion, because now she has Xal’alath in her power, her looks are all edgy. So... I’ll keep trying.

More things, more things... Oh! I don’t know if you remember Lukka, that child in Draenor who gives you a list of enemies to defeat. Well, my headcanon is, when Legion begins, he goes to the Exodar, and during its first attack, he hides on Sayaad’s mount to scape with her - but without her knowing -. She saved him twice (Draenor’s incursion and Legion’s attack on the Exodar), and as far as I know, he’s an orphan, so, who better than Sayaad to be his new mom?

So yea, Sayaad is mom! But during Legion, she had to call Hargand - her best friend - to take care of him. Can’t give you the real reasons behind because I’m doing a comic about that! But it is related to Xal’atath. Can’t say more!

Information nobody asked for: azure flowers are her favorite ones! Their colors are same as hers, their smeel and looks are both relaxing and beautiful...

Last panel is a redraw of a comic I did a year ago, about how she lost Hargand (before he became a deathknight) due to her unability to heal him in the worst time ever. She was too close to the shadows Light didn’t answer her call when she needed it the most, so... Hargand died and emerged as one of Arthas’ slave. Original panel:

And one last thing! I drew @vaard ‘s OC! I never get tired of him, honestly. I’m constantly looking at their drawings and story, and I feel like it’s so deep as Sayaad’s. Seriously, don’t stop working! I’d like someday to RP with you or doing a collab, I think both of them have a lot of things to say!
