Gloria's Diary

Salim asked me to our school's Senior Dance and I accepted, of course! I can't believe it's finally my turn to attend with my boyfriend after I was the one who told Sal to ask Mary to his dance in the first place. I wore a beautiful yellow patterned dress and Salim looked dashing in his suit. The gym was transformed with balloons and streamers. I spent a lot of time with both my friends and my boyfriend. Dancing with him felt like a dream!

We stole away out back to the courtyard and he told me, "I don't know how I got so lucky to have you, Gloria. You're beautiful, smart, confident, friendly— and I don't know what I'm going to do after school."

"We're only seventeen, Salim," I told him. "We have time. The night is still young. Will you help me make it last?"

And he did.

Feng Household Makeover

My makeover of the Fengs is now complete. This is yet another household I have not played with before, so it was...interesting to say the least to get to know them while play testing things out in their apartment.

When I first started working on Lily, I mentioned that I got Evil Queen meets Claire Underwood vibes, so I definitely leaned into that. As a successful CEO, she equates her wardrobe to body armor. If she doesn't feel powerful in it, she doesn't wear it. I love how she pulls off the Narcissa Suit by @sentate in their portrait. Very badass in her signature green color.

With Victor, at first, I went with all black from top to bottom, but I changed course halfway through. If Lily is Claire Underwood, it was only natural to go with Frank Underwood vibes with Victor and went with a more straight laced career politician look.

Beware of this formidable couple. Although they appear to have good intentions, they are only interested in promoting their self interests.

"No thank you," I deny right away, not even looking at him. The more attention you give them the more they feel like they have a right to demand more. So I keep my eyes focused and straight ahead. Hoping he goes away.

Victor and Lily met while climbing the same corporate ladder--competing, actually. Lily had the upper hand and has since become CEO of the largest company out of San Myshuno. Victor changed career paths and pursued a career in politics. With a little help from each other, they've managed to become the most powerful couple in the city.

Their teen daughter, Mei, has a strenuous relationship with her mother. The two often see eye-to-eye on things which, unfortunately, can be a bad thing. Mei has her eye on her mom's position in the company once she's old enough. For now, she's content with her steadily growing popularity from being recognized as a small-time actress.

LILY: We tried to do it the other way, but it didn't work. Go ahead.

VICTOR: You're making me nervous, Ms. Adams.

LILY: You better tell him before he gets heartburn; he's been popping antacids like tic tacs.

VICTOR: Out with it.

KESTREL: There's been a change in the Burgos case; the police department has closed their case, and the prosecutor has closed his.

VICTOR: That's good news, right?

KESTREL: Not quite. A source has told me about a possible corrupt detective in the del so valley police department. If it gets to the Prosecutor's office, it won't be long before it heads our way.

VICTOR: That's manageable, right? That's not even our jurisdiction.

KESTREL: Normally, I'd say yes. But a certain prosecutor has been inferencing that you may be endorsing him for mayor.

LILY: ( Laughs ) I knew it. He's such an ass.

VICTOR: Am I missing something, Lil? Because I'm failing to see the humor in that.

KESTREL: No disrespect, Mrs. Feng, but I'm missing it too.

LILY: None take. Allow me to enlighten you.
