Rumplestiltskin Family Tree + Enchanted/Snow White stuff
So, this background stuff is pretty darn dark, like, lots of implied pretty bad stuff, though it doesn't go into detail, but hey it's the kinda Big Bad Background Villain family of my DisneyVerse so that's to be expected.
So the being this dark family starts out with is Chernabog, lord of all darkness and evil within the DisneyVerse. In the pre-historic times of the EverRealm he takes as his first mortal disciple the human woman Var, who eventually becomes the demon sorceress Vor of Sofia the First infamy.
They have a demon son called Voland, who takes to wandering the world in the guise of a soldier, oft accompanied by three massive hell-hounds, causing terror and strife wherever he goes. And at one point in his wanderings he decides it's time he take a wife. With his familiars help, he nightly steals away the Princess Achlys, heir to a great empire of the EverRealm. When this affront is discovered, Voland is captured by the Emperor's forces, but they prove no match for his powers nor hell-hound familiars. And in one day, the Empire is laid to utter ruin..
Tumblr media
Achlys later gives birth to her own son, Rumplestiltskin, but by this time she has learned enough magic of her own in secret to manage to escape her binding to Voland, and in her last act of vengance before fleeing she curses the child to never be able to hid his demonic heritage behind a charming face as Voland once had, and so Rumplestiltskin is forced to bear his green and scaly visage for all time.
(Achlys goes on to become the Dark Enchantress who causes trouble later for Belle and Adam)
Despite his unseemly looks Rumplestiltskin tries over the years to gain a wife of his own (often to the refusing lady's detriment, such as the case of the poor Princess Toute-Belle and her lover the King of the Gold Mines) Eventually he decides to take a page out of his father's book and just steal one away, and so the unfortunate Camilla finds herself trapped in Rumplestiltskin's subterranean lair.
Tumblr media
She too eventually gives birth to a son, (which Rumplestiltskin names Baelfire, a suitable name for the demon prince he's meant to become ) But Camilla too manages to escape her captor.
But unlike her predecessor she takes her son with her as she flees, boarding a ship meant to take them far from Rumplestiltskin's power. For a time she is able to enjoy her freedom and even finds love with the ships captain (who isn't Hook he's not even born yet in the DisneyVerse timeline), but Rumplestiltskin eventually tracks her down and has his revenge.
Her child, however, is smuggled away in time and grows up in the forests of Andalasia, under the name Niall and with no knowledge of his dark heritage. Eventually, he meets the young Princess Amelia, daughter of Snow White and Florian. They fall in love and eventually marry and have a child, a young son named Heinrich.
Tumblr media
The family is happy together for a time, until Amelia's older brother Argent decides to remarry after the sudden death of his wife Queen Rosamund, choosing as his new wife his court sorceress, the Lady Narissa.
Amelia and Niall soon discover that Narissa had been behind the death of Queen Rosamund, and try to reveal her dark nature but she struck back at them before they could.
Queen Snow-White and King Florian were told that their daughter's family had all died in an attack from a vicious dragon, but in reality only Niall had perished. Young Heinrich had managed to escape into the magical wishing well that formed a portal to Our World.
There, he was eventually found by his great aunt Eva, who had gone to explore Our World years back. He told her what had happened in Andalasia and how Narissa had taken the throne. They attempt to go back but find that Narissa has sealed the portal against them by then.
Amelia meanwhile had been tranformed into a swan, as part of a protective spell that had been placed upon her by her aunt, meant to give her the means to escape her enemies and keep under cover. But the clash of magic between the protection spell, Narissa's magic and the enchanted well causes her to be trapped in Swan form and bound to the water of the castle.
For years she watches over her nephew Edward, trying her best to find a way to contact anyone who might be able to help her break the spell and overthrow Narissa. Thankfully Narissa had to unlock the portal to push Edward's former fiance Giselle into it, and had not been able to relock it (it was a time consuming spell) before she was defeated forever. This allowed Eva and Heinrich to finally return to Andalasia (after living for several years in a town Eva had founded, which she left in the hands of a woman named Malvina Monroe when they left) and break the spell that had trapped Amelia for so many years.
The family that had survived was at last reunited. Snow White and Florian, Eva and Amelia, Heinrich and Edward, as well as Edward's new wife Nancy.
They mourned their lost years and lost loved ones, but at last were able to find a happily ever after for the years they had left together.

I read your Frozen 3 bad guys page. Are Hans' gloves inspired by another Hans Christian Anderson Fairy Tale?
Not really, I took the idea of them from realizing that Hans wears gloves the entire first movie, and it felt like that would be a good item to use for Voland to tie Hans to him, as I already had him using other clothing items with the othr characters.
Plus it adds to the drama of the moment where Hans is forced to relive his lowest moment, trying to kill Elsa, when Voland, controlling his hands/body thru the gloves, almost makes him kill Karen

Will Wearing Rock Crystal Jewelry Make You Feel Better?
I hate to be the Gus Portokalos (yes, the patriarch of My Big Fat Greek Wedding) of the jewelry world, but the word “crystal” does come from the Greek word “crystalos,” meaning ice. And the ancient Greeks believed the stone known as rock crystal, or clear quartz, was water that had been frozen for eternity. There is something comforting about the strength that implies, isn’t there?
The Greeks were not the first to use the stone in jewelry—although there is an impressive set of rock crystal and gold bangles on view at the Metropolitan Museum of Art that proves they did use it, and well—and they were also not the only ones to attribute great power and meaning to the materials.
“The Greeks believed rock crystal was straight from Mt. Olympus—eternal water.”
“The Greeks believed rock crystal was straight from Mt. Olympus—eternal water that had flowed down the mountain. But since ancient times and across ancient civilizations, rock crystal has been held to have protective and healing powers, to enlighten, to balance and to expand one’s energy,” explains Fred Leighton Creative Director Rebecca Selva.
“The Egyptians carved rock crystal into beads, rings, and amulets. In Ancient India, rock crystal was used for its healing powers to cleanse, shift, and balance energy.”
There are examples of the use of rock crystal in jewelry in archaeological findings as far back as the Sumerian and Mesopotamian civilizations. The allure of clear quartz has held strong throughout the centuries (see Victorian intaglios in particular) but the use of it in the Art Deco period (a creative flourishing of bold, streamlined design free of flourishes between the wars) is probably the most known and celebrated.
Jewelers like Cartier and Van Cleef and Boivin and Belperron made rock crystal part of Art Deco’s signature palette, alongside black onyx and platinum and diamonds. Gloria Swanson’s famous Cartier Deco cuffs are a strong example, as is that Belperron for Boivin rock crystal and hematite bracelet that was sold a few months ago at Christies. (If you follow me on Instagram you know the one. It was the object of my obsession for months including another Cartier rock crystal cuff that sold in the same sale).
The material’s grip on jewelers’ imaginations remains strong. “I am obsessed with rock quartz,” says Hanut Singh. “My home is dotted with them, as totems, as objets and it is such joy to use them in my jewelry designs as well. I feel truly elated working with them.”
Is the inclination towards this stone aesthetic or spiritual? “We all know how spiritually they have been used in healing for millennia,” says Singh. “The clear rock quartz, that helps us attune to our high selves, that aids intuition and focus and that soothes and heals, also in our Hindu culture has been used to make Idols. Our mightiest deities, of which we have many are made in crystal and dotted with gems. Our prayer beads, which we use to do ‘jap,’ or pray and meditate with, are also made in crystal. The immensity of its uses is varied and talismanic. But the joy of seeing them as bijoux is electric. The glamour of it all. The sheer clarity and drama of it all! The major houses in the 20’s onwards were using it as objet d’art and jewels. Cartier really excelled at it. Even until the late 1950’s Belperron was doing her magic with crystal. Fluting, frosting, swirling, stacking…all sorts of shapes and sizes and designs were wrought from this magical quartz.”

Singh—whose work makes his quartz obsession clear— is not alone. Monica Rich Kosann also uses the stone frequently and designed an entire cobblestone patterned bracelet around it. Would you be willing to share some more information about your Frozen OC Karen?
Sure!
She's based on Karen from The Red Shoes, so her backstory in my DisneyVerse is such:
She's was born in the kingdom of Glowerhaven and grew up poor but happy until she was orphaned at the young age of seven. She was taken in by a great aunt who was wealthy but had never tried to help Karen's parents in life due to disaproving of her neice’s marriage to a poor man.
One of the first things this aunt did was burn a pair of red shoes Karen owned, one of the last presents her parents gave her (made to match those of the young Princess Ida she'd seen once and admired) as the aunt thought they were too old and besides that too vain for a child to wear.
And from there she was kept at the beck and call of this aunt, made to do all she wished and forbidden from playing with 'common' children and especially from dancing, another thing she loved, as it too was deemed unseemingly for a proper young lady.
When Karen was about 13, she saw the young Princess Ida of Glowerhaven agin, wearing red shoes and dancing on her balcony, and she thought that she'd like to have the power a princess had, so that she could be free to wear beautiful things and dance and have no one be able to tell her differently.
She realized as she grew up that her physical beauty granted her some power in that it made people treat her differently than they had when she was just a poor dirty girl on the streets. And so she began to use it to her advantage to win people over, becoming rather vain and self obsorbed, delighting in playing the coquette and making people trip over themselves to please her.
When she was 18 she was taken to court to be presented to the Queen of Glowerhaven and the rest of Society, and scandalized her aunt and several others by wearing a pair of red shoes (which she'd had specially commissioned) when she was meant to wear all white.
Karen was quite pleased with the attention this gained her though, thinking her display of independence had gained her another point of victory in the court games--until her aunt started to go off on her for being wanton and wilfull and how she'd see to it that she'd be kept at home or locked away in a convent for the rest of her life. The aunt also demanded that this new pair of red shoes be burned the same as the first pair had been, and forced Karen to watch as they burned away.
At this point Karen ran from the manor and out into the streets, knowing she wouldnt be able to go far before her aunts men caught her, but distraught and furious and scared and wanting to do something--and in just the right frame of mind to listen to the proposal of a strange old soldier who appeared at the crossroads, offering her freedom and power to do whatever she wished, to be able to out dance the wind itself--if she'd be willing to make a bargain with him.
Which was how Karen found herself with a new pair of red dancing shoes, ones that made her thr greatest dancer anyone had ever seen, and she could never take off--traveling the lands in the strange company of the Old Soldier Voland, doing his bidding and fulfilling his schemes, and wondering if she hadn't traded one prison for another...
***
Jumping to the future after the Frozen 3 adventures, I like to think that she and Hans settle down somewhere by the sea side where they can just have a chill life away from terrible family members and evil demon bosses, and maybe even have a kid eventually (though given their own upbringings they take their time deciding on if thats something they actually want or not)
Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to know about her or any of my other OCs!

What do you think happened to the Magic Mirror after the queen's death?
Ooookay! So buckle up cuz in my DisneyVerse the Mirror actually has quite an interesting and detailed backstory, and you just unlocked it xD
Tumblr media
So first, the the spirit within it is actually the demon son of Chernabog and the sorceress Vor, the man called Voland, who long time followers will remember is the Old Soldier, the villain of my Frozen 3 plot.
He was trapped in the Mirror ages ago by an enchantor, the first Storykeeper of Enchancia, who for years kept the Mirror under his own careful watch in the Secret Library. Eventually however the Mirror was stolen by dark forces who managed to breach the library, and fell into the hands of many dark magic users across the years, either by bequeathment, theft or murder, eventually becoming the property of Queen Grimhilde.
After the Queen's death, the Mirror was kept locked away for a time in Snow White's palace, until she and the prince were able to make contact with people who promised to take it to a place to be locked away forever, Spire out on a distant mountain where many powerful and dangerous magical artifacts are kept under watch.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, on route to the Spire, the caravan gaurding the Mirror is attacked by the witches of the Seven Mountains, the coven to which Grimhilde had once belonged, lead by the self styled Witch Empress Mammona, who for years kept it and learned from its secrets, eventually discovering its full dark lineage.
Tumblr media
The Mirror instructs them to take it to the Enchanted Forest of the Northuldra, a place of great primordial magic, where they will be able to break him free of the Mirror using the latent magic of the place.
Luckily the Spirits that gaurd this particular Enchanted Forest are very against a great evil being unleashed into it, and alert the Fifth Spirit, great mage called Oaván (a native of the Northuldra who is linked most to Earth, and able to transform into animals) and together with the Northuldra move to attack the Witches before they can finish their dread deed.
Tumblr media
A fierce battle commences between the Spirits/Northuldra and the Witches, both of whom call on allies to help in the battle. But eventually, though not without Oaván receiving a mortal wound, the forces of Good are able to route the Witches and halt the ceremony.
Only part of Voland was able to be pulled from the mirror, an undying yet mostly mortal man, left with but a fraction of his power, the rest remains locked behind the glass of the Mirror. Voland the man manages to escape with the last few witches, but the Mirror is left behind.
With the last ounces of his strength, Oaván takes the Mirror to Atohallan, a place none came come to save the spirits, and locks it away in a tomb of ice, succumbing at last to his wounds.
Tumblr media
And there there Mirror stayed for long years, kept safely locked away from the world. Until a new Fifth Spirit was chosen, Elsa of Arendelle, who with her companions was once more was forced to do battle with Voland, who had been able to recover ancient artifacts that allowed him to bind the Spirits, using their power to assult Atohallan in search of his Mirror and the rest of his powers.
He would be defeated once more by the forces of Good, and the mirror shattered, effectively destorying Voland for all time, though slight bits of his malevolent influence would manage to tumble back into the world through shards of the mirror that were thrown into the air in the final battle. Not enough to cause great evil but enough to do harm to those unlucky enough to come into contact with them...

So, since I'm curious, have this fun little questionnaire:
Who's your favorite Canon Descendant you've created/revamped?
Who's your favorite Disney OC you've created?
What's your favorite fanmade Disney sequel concept you've come up with?
What's your favorite hypothetical Disney movie concept you've come up with?
Who's your favorite villain you've created for your fanmade DIsney sequel concepts and/or your hypothetical Disney movie concepts?
Oooh! Oh this is fun thank you!!!
Hmmm, Ah my favorite revamped Canon Descendants--oh thats hard I'm pretty proud of all of them. The Facilier girls kicked off the whole Canon Descendants project so I'm pretty fond of them...but I guess probably either Mallow or Eva, I've done the most art of them I think xD
Favorite OC? Probably Karen from my Frozen 3 concept. She and Hans' story really spring boarded the whole DisneyVerse tbh.
Favorite fanmade sequel, also Frozen 3, I put so much thought and work into bringing all the different little info hooks together with the OG Snow Queen story and trying to create a deeper world with what was given in the movies and I had a ton of fun.
Favorite hypothetical movie? Hmmm probably a toss up between Night on Bald Mountain or Swan Lake, would love to see either of those get made good old fashioned Disney Style.
Fav villain is probably Voland. He's so linked into the background of several different stories, and in the way I imagine him, he's got a very old-school Disney villain vibe. He's very soft-spoken and methodical but capable of just doing absolutely horrendous things.
Thank you so much for this thoughtful ask! I really appreciate it!!!

So how many stories in your Disney-verse do you think Voland has had his hands in directly and/or indirectly?
Indirectly? Who knows, he's a busy man and he's been around a looong time.
The ones I've touched on here include (in no particular order)
The Tinkerbox/The Blue Light
The Snow Queen (Frozen)
The Red Shoes
The Girl Who Trod on a Loaf
The Shadow
Snow White
The Girl Without Hands
But yeah the guy is a very busy demon and he's had his claws in any number of events across centuries of the DisneyVerse

How much do you want to bet Voland had a hand in Magnifico's fall to darkness by giving him that book containing his essence in the first place?
Oh I think that's a pretty fair bet yeah 😏
Though I don't think he gave it to him outright. The book seems to have been something Magnifico found and clocked right away as dangerous, and that's why it's locked up with all that magical security.
But yeah soon as I finish a couple other projects we are diving right into Magnifico and that book's backstory, I have Notes and Thoughts and I'm Pumped

Did Hans know Princess Ida prior to his fall from grace?
He knew of her from just like, royal social circle talk but they'd never really properly met or hungout as such. He really first meets her when he's on assignment from Voland to try and woo her to gain the ancient journal of Herz deSonne that her city is guarding after it washed up on the beach, as it has the locations of the relics needed to bind the Spirits of the Enchanted Forest for Voland's plans...

What’s Inge’s backstory for Frozen 3? Who did Karen hurt most? What’s Inge and Hans’ dynamic like? What about Anna’s reaction to finding Hans comes back with a new woman?
That’s a few so I understand if you don’t want to answer them all! Thanks!
Inge is based on Inger from the HCA story "The Girl who Trod on a Loaf"
An honesty quite sadistic little creep of a child who ends up getting literally dragged down to hell
Basically the same sort of thing happens in the DisneyVerse (though its more likely she was messing around with dark magic that backfired) and its in the dark underworld that she meets Voland, who offers her the choice of entering his service to get out of Hell.
She's Voland's most loyal follower for this, and doesn't really fear anything except being sent back. Hans is honestly pretty creeped out by her. He's never sure if she's actually teasing when she talks about making his teeth into a necklace or such things if he fails the tasks Voland sets him, and he tries to stay out of her way.
She's the kind of person who takes perverse joy in causing fear and pain and is always slightly manic and ready to fly off in a rage if things don't go the way she wants.
Karen's hurt a fair amount of people over the years. Not physically mind, at least not herself. But imagine an even more jaded Meg, who just goes in and does her job to fulfill Voland's wishes and powers through not thinking about it.
Anna's reaction to seeing Hans with another woman is basically 1. Punch Hans Again for just having the gaul to be there and 2. Try to instantly talk Karen out of whatever lies Hans has surely told her to get her interested in him. It does take a fair bit of time seeing them together for Anna to start being able to believe Hans has actually improved and really does care about Karen and isn't just using her.

I can't believe that it took me this long to realize that Voland and his hellhounds are dark and twisted versions of the soldier and the dogs from the Hans Christian Andersen story "The Tinderbox."
Yup! Honestly I always thought the story was rather twisted to begin with 😅 What with The Solider kidnapping the Princess each night and then basically taking over the kingdom with his horrifying giant dogs. In making it part of Voland's backstory I felt like it was more peeling the veneer off of the darkness underneath then anything else.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fun fact, my original idea was to have Hans be the Solider in the Tinderbox, since they're both awful and it was another Hans Christian Anderson story. But I realized that by the end the Solider had only gotten worse, and it didnt work for trying to do a Redemption story like I'd wanted.
So then his story switched to a more original one with a cast inspired by characters from other Anderson stories, and what might have happened to them after. Having Voland be The Old Soldier from The Red Shoes it just made sense to have him also have been the Solider in the Tinderbox and so then he become a foil for what Hans could become if he kept on the path he was going down

Who would be your Disneyverse counterpart to Zoso, the previous Dark One before Rumple, the one played by Brad Dourif/Chucky from Child's Play?
Oh I guess that would basically be Voland, the bad guy from my Frozen 3 concept. As he's Rumplestiltskin's father in my DisneyVerse and could therefore be sort of his predecessor

Do you have a favorite story you've come up with for the DisneyVerse?
Probably my og Frozen 3 stuff, I feel like thats what really started the DisneyVerse proper as I had to create the history of Voland and the different artifacts and why they were located where they were. I also have a soft spot for the Canon Descendants stuff as it also helped flesh out the wider history of the world I started building in my head, giving it points to work forward to not just backstories.

Some doodles of various quality I've done of Hans and Karen, my oc love interest for him from my Frozen 3/Frozen the Series concept
Tumblr media
They have an enemies/reluctant coworkers to lovers relationship that blossoms over their mutual Unintentional Redemption Arc (during the course of which Hans hands get burned, thats why it looks weird in the bottom one)
Tumblr media
Having both sold their souls services The Old Soldier Voland in exchange for a chance to change their fates. Over the course of the 'first season' they're forced to work together in fulfilling Voland's schemes to gain the ancient artifacts he needs for his mater plan. Along the way they begin slowly becoming better people as they're forced to confront the consequences they bring to the innocent people who are pulled into their plots, learn more about eachothers painful pasts, recognize just how dark the path their currently on is, and realize they may be helping to being about the end of the world.
Voland of course isn't too pleased to realize two of his minions are growing hearts/having loyalty to someone other then him. And in this hypothetical story there would be a climactic scene where Hans is forced to almost reenact his worst moment upon the woman he's come to actually care for.
Tumblr media
But in the best fairytale tradition the fact that they are--to their own amazment--actually in True Love manages to break their respective contracts, freeing them from the control of the gloves and shoes Voland gave them both (this is what burns Han's hands) Despite their injuries they're able to escape Voland and his other minions, and find themselves safe but stranded on a row boat somewhere south of Arendelle ...
Tumblr media
And so would begin 'season two' where Hans has to pull of a "I'm good(ish) now and need you to help me save the world" pitch even more awkard then Prince Zuko's was to the Arendelle sisters xD
