Tyler: my faith is called the universal faith because it is followed by all the religious people Finian: Ty and i are the only religious ones on the squad Cat: crazy how there's only 1 religion nowadays but that's just the way it is kal and the rest of all syldrathi, blatantly having a different religion:

mild question for chapter three...
do we think that the mind liking of waywalkers has a distance limit??
personally i'm leaning towards yes ( totally not just for the plot )
but like
i dont think they can cuz if they could why wouldn't saedii and tyler link while he was literally breaking into a military stronghold
my fellow AC fans what do you think?

Another random bit of Pathfinder lore that I deeply enjoy: Barbatos, the Bearded Lord, is the youngest of the archdevils and rules over Avernus, the gates of Hell. But he's not a devil. In fact no one knows what he is. He just rocked up to Hell one day with an entire world's worth of souls, turned them into a new type of devil as an offering/bribe, and basically asked Asmodeus, hey, can I pitch my tent on your lawn? And Asmodeus looked at this entire world's worth of new servants and went ... you know what, sure, here's the keys to Hell, wanna be our doorwarden?
So he's the gatekeeper, the waywalker, the offerer of ruinous deals, and no one knows what he is, but Asmodeus sure won't turn down offerings of that magnitude and, given that the lovecraftian gods also exist in Pathfinder, there's a bit of me that wonders if Nyarlathotep or Yog Sothoth managed to plant an envoy or even an aspect of themselves inside Hell. I just. I enjoy the intrigue. And the brass balls. No need to infiltrate Hell or any of that nonsense, just rock straight up and ask for a job. Gotta love it.

I've got this hc that Saedii gets motion sick really easily but tries her best to hide it.
OKAY OKAY i was thinking about this all day and yes. i love this.
i also get motion sickness, ESPECIALLY car sickness, and one thing that really helps in the car is sitting in the front/driving? so! this logically extends into: pilot!saedii.
and pilot!saedii logically extends itself into lae, who is HEAVILY IMPLIED (in the current timeline) to invent the Waywalker Folding.
So: I see your Motion Sick Saedii and raise you: Pilot Saedii with a little toddler Lae in the passenger seat, going out for rides for fun. when Lae eventually joins the Aurora Academy, she becomes an Ace, remembering all of those drives with her mother.
the funnier side of this is: when she and tyler get captured and the whole terran ship is falling apart around them, imagine her being motion sick the whole time. it's so funny to me. like no wonder she was so snappy all the time if that's how she felt. poor kid.

Part four of Tyler looking like his mum? Pretty please? 🥺
okie dokie
~~
*after the defeat of the Ra'haam*
*Tyler*
The silence after the defeat was deafening on Saedii's ship. He can't say he is quite as mad as the others that the battle was shorter and less bloody than expected.
He was just glad he was alive and breathing. That could say the same about Saedii. The Ra'haam was over, all that was left of that deafening pain was a patch of stars where an army once was.
Now, he was left on the ship overlooking the Aurora Legion, feeling like he needed to be there. Ever since he had met his sister (or, more importantly, found out he had one) he had felt the absence of her, the worry that she would die before he could have a conversation with her.
She had sent an invitation to him to sit down with her so now he had a chance and yet he was concerned, unready for whatever was waiting for him.
He knows he should go. Knew that if he didn't, he would be a coward, a man who would leave his family alone in the world, would leave his sister an orphan while he had a parent.
He will go. Tomorrow, when he has had a moment to brace himself.
*Scarlett*
Her brother had agreed to meet her that morning and she was sweating, she swears. Fin had reassured her with soft words and softer kisses and then dropped her off at the meeting room where she had agreed to meet the Syldrathi. She didn't even know her own brother's name.
He had arrived after her, back straight, green eyes wary, but she can tell he was as trepidatious as she was and that actually made her flash a grin, trying to put him at ease. She bows her head to him and touches her brow.
"Scarlett Jones, galaxy-saving Face, at your service," she says and he gives her a tiny smile lifting his lips.
"Tyler Ciriltari," he introduces himself back, then clears his throat, "very impressive work you and your squad pulled off," he compliments. She nods in appreciation, blue eyes amused by his formality as she gestures for her to sit across from her at the meeting table.
"So, Ultrasaur in the room, how did you, a WayWalker, end up in the Unbroken?" She asks, leaning back against her seat, the picture of casual comfort. Tyler shakes his head.
"I'm not a member of the Unbroken. I- My Be'shmai is Templar Saedii Gilwraeth. You may never understand The Pull, but I did not find myself particularly fond of the idea of being parted from her while she was on duty," he explains. "How did you end up in the Aurora Legion?"
"Dad died, I lived in the system for two years, this seemed like a better alternative for my life," she shrugs. "Is our mum alive? She is our mum, right? This isn't some weird half-siblings thing right?" Tyler laughs at that.
"She is alive and yes, she is our mum. We are apparently twins, according to her. She is very excited to see you again and very concerned by the whole 'international fugitive' thing," he says, which makes her laugh a little.
"Didn't she hear? I'm a hero now. You have competition for favourite child now, bee-bro," she declares, mostly in jest, grinning at his amused stare.
"Bee-bro?"
"Bee-bro," she nods with finality, feeling like some wound in her was closing as he shook his head but smiled at her.
*Tyler*
"So, what's my daughter like and when will I be getting to meet her?" his mother asks over their vid chat that afternoon.
"She's nice enough, kind, a bit of a sense of humour. I told her you wanted to meet her and she seemed open to that," he answers and she smiles, wide and a little teary. "But she's convinced she'll be your favourite child, so I apparently have new competition," he says and his mother laughs wetly.
"Well, you better step your game up, Ty," she says and Tyler knows she is joking, likely to hide everything she was feeling. Honestly, he was feeling a little too much himself.
"I wish we could have grown up together. Before I met her this morning I was worried, but it was so easy. We could have been one hell of a team," he says and Corae smiles sadly.
"I wish that too, baby - you have no idea how much I wish we all could have been a family. But you have all the time now with your sister," she says, tone gentle and he nods, hanging his head until one of his braids flops into his face. "It'll be okay," he finally looks up.
"It's been a long week," is all he says. His mother tilts her head, considering him.
"Get off the vid, go hug Saedii, rest. I'll see you and Scarlett as soon as I get there," she prompts and they say goodbye and he follows her orders to a t (like a favourite child would).

aren't you tired of being nice? don't you just want to fully and finally use the power you never wanted but were born to anyway, touching and drawing together the minds of every living being on this earth and directing them all at the ancient dread power released by your brother, thus saving humanity and the world but risking your own destruction on the hope that bonding your soul to that of time itself will give you the anchor required to drag your mind back from the oblivion that it is to be lost among the masses, in the process giving up part of yourself forever, not because the world has earned your sacrifice but because you're the only one who can perform it?

Legacy CH 3 - Lae POV
He certainly seems to be acting odd; my darling father. Keeps glancing back at the Syldrathi women as we meander through the space debris, making our way back to the Station. Then again, he could just be concerned by the fact that they are all covered in blood; head to toe; drenching the floor. It’s really a sort of disturbing sight; they don’t look like they know what to do, and the eldest one is staring rather intently at me, squinting with her head turned as if she’s trying to examine me. Out of the corner of my eye, I watch as Dad’s eyes unfocus for a second, a sign that he’s linking someone, and by the way his jaw relaxes and his eyebrows furrow; it’s Mom. Nobody causes him more stress, or more joy, than her.
He finishes right as we pull into the dock, obviously having told Mom to send the cavalry; about three hundred people are gathered at the gate when it should be more like thirty. I spot her rather swiftly, hanging off to the side with Val and Kal at her hips. Odd for the infamous Gilwraeth siblings; they look nervous; concerned; shocked even, and they aren’t easily rattled. They must know these people. Unbroken Armada.
Our walk to the port is a short, anxious one. I can feel the mental nausea radiating from them, making my already unstable legs vibrate with perceptive nervousness. I’m not really sure why, but the twitchy movements of the Syldrathi have bile climbing up my throat again. I never feel like this; though I suppose this is the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen, second only to the time that Evalie and I walked in on Aunt Scar giving Uncle Fin a blowjob. The thought of that brings a different kind of uneasiness to my core.
Dad’s eyes glaze over again as we hit the crowd, and he stops for a moment, clearly arguing with Mom. Leaning over the human, who I recognize as a Med assistant, I catch a glimpse of her, eyes sorrowful as she leads her brother and niece away. I watch as Kal’s posture slumps uncharacteristically, and acknowledge that Dad must know what’s wrong with them. He’s the only person to ever really know my mom, even though they fight like cats and dogs sometimes.
The meds are saturating their cloths in blood when it comes to me to ask whether or not it belongs to the women or somebody else. The two younger ones respond meekly in Syldrathi, assuring what I already know, considering they could walk just fine, that they were scared and had to pretend to be dead. The eldest looks me down and speaks in a gravely soft voice, “What is your name, dur’ainti?” Young one; what I’ve come to understand is a compliment from Syldrathi who’ve survived Sai’nuitr. The Starslaying. My own grandmother; a victim, her fire only still burning because of my uncle’s admiration, my mother’s regret, and both of their love. They tell me she was beautiful, though I could never know; my grandfather destroyed every shred of her existence when she escaped. She has a hint of an accent, and when her face is cleared of blood, I see she is a Waywalker like myself.
Once they are cleaned, the women turn towards eachother, now apparent that they are all Waywalker, and convene, Dad watches the hall where Mom was, clearly expecting her return. I turn to him, “Dad?” I wait a second for it to register, and when it does, I continue, “What’s going on? Who are they?” I’m now fairly confident that the only one who speaks English is the old one; the others all seemed like they had trouble understanding the meds’ instructions.
He studies me for a second, gauging my reaction to whatever he is about to say, I assume. “I’m not sure. It’s certainly weird, that they’re all waywalkers, I mean.”
“Why’s that? We are too.”
“Half, anyways,” he mumbles, not looking away from the hall.
“There’s something you’re not telling me.”
Another glance, “Yep.”
“What? So you’re just not going to tell me? Since when has that been what you do?” Even when I was a dumb kid and the washing machine scared me, Dad always found a way to explain the world to me. He’d tell me all about his adventures, leaving the gorey bits out for when I asked again years later. He could always explain every political conflict analytically; instead of directing me to the side he thought was right, he’d let me identify what I thought was wrong and make me uphold my argument when we disagreed. Now, he just stares off, his mouth a tight line and his eyes narrowed. I huff and cross my arms, turning away from him as I search the now mostly dissipated crowd for my friend, though the only person I can spot is Valeth. I roll my eyes; the ever-present cloud of smugness that happens to inhabit the body of Valeth Korsin Jr. disheartening me thoroughly.
When Mom reappears alone, she has a clear view of the group of us. The women turn around at once, and, luckily, I catch the eldest’s gasp as she faints, falling into my arms.
Check me out on AO3 :)

So Scar and Ty are half waywalker right and in one of the chapters Ty says his blood calls to Saedii, pulls him to her. He's experiencing a partial Pull then. So what if Scar is partially Pulled to Fin? It's in her blood. And there is that scene where Fin almost dies and she has a moment of clarity, that this is what matters most, him and them. She's being pulled yall

Can we have if Saedii met Jericho please
the man was too stunned to speak.
This is canonverse but Jericho lives bc fuck it we ball.
~~
"So your sister mentioned you had a girlfriend?” Jericho broaches the subject to Tyler with a hesitance he usually doesn’t employ with his children. They’re having lunch at an old diner he used to take his son to before he joined the legion. Jericho had taken them there to get Tyler into a more comfortable headspace and all had been going well until that question. Jericho is no Waywalker, but his son had obviously not broached the topic with him for a reason.
Tyler didn’t answer for a beat, instead choosing to slowly dip his chip into a puddle of gravy and eat it.
“I do have a girlfriend and I’m regretting not kicking up more of a fuss about the fact Scarlett taught you to gossip when we were children,” Tyler says eventually and Jericho grins and shrugs.
“Eh, it made her happy. Besides, who else was she gonna gossip with?” Tyler tilted his head as if to concede the point but doesn’t say more so Jericho vows to continue prodding.
“So, you gonna tell me about your girl?” Tyler snorted at that.
“First of all, she’d object to be referred to as ‘my girl’... uh, okay, she’s Syldrathi, which I know you don’t care about because,” he gestures to himself, “obviously. She’s half Waywalker, which may be why she gets me so much, but it might just be her. I don’t know, I just really... I don’t know,” Tyler trailed off, going to back to his fries. Jericho considers him and smiles.
“It’s fine, I get it. When do I get to meet her?”
“At the moment we’re long distance so I don’t know but there is one more thing,” Jericho nods, taking a bite of his food. “So, she’s, uh, her father was the Starslayer.”
Jericho paused and turned a look to his son, who just shrugged with an awkward smile.
~
“So who made the ship and what were they overcompensating for?” Is the only thing Jericho can think to ask as they watch the Andarael land at the docks, dwarfing every other ship there. Tyler shrugs.
“Lots of soldiers,” he says and Jericho hums, letting Tyler lead him onto the tarmac just as the ships gangway lowers. Standing at the top of it is a girl who Jericho assumes is Tyler’s girlfriend. She is unaccompanied by anyone and Jericho has to assume a large part of her force dissolved.
Once the ships ramp lowers with a thud to the tarmac, she begins to step down the ramp, her heavy black boots making audible impact with every step. When she gets to the bottom Tyler grins and gets closer, wrapping his arms around her waist and pressing a kiss to her forehead. She doesn’t smile but she does relax a little and give him a kiss on the cheek in response.
Tyler gestures to Jericho and says something, causing the woman to turn bright purple eyes to him and straighten her spine slightly. Tyler slips his hand down to to take hers and leads her to meet him.
Jericho offers his hand to her and she takes it with a strong grip.
“Jericho Jones, it’s a pleasure,” he says.
“Saedii Gilwraeth, Tyler’s Be’shmai,” she says and Jericho’s eyebrows lift slightly but he still smiles warmly as he releases her hand.
“He didn’t tell me the pair of you were Pulled,” he gestures to their car sitting near the tarmac, “Come, lunch is in the oven and we wouldn’t want it to be burnt,” he says and begins to walk away, pretending to not see Saedii reach her arm around Tyler’s waist.
~
“So how did you two meet?” He asks, before taking a bite of his salad. Saedii and Tyler share a look, some communication passing between them before Saedii shrugs and turns back to him.
“I captured his squad under the orders of the StarSlayer,” Saedii says and Jericho pauses. “But he killed a drakon, so I was impressed enough by him.”
“No need to get sappy, Saeds,” Tyler says fondly and Jericho looks between the pair again.
“You two are good together,” Jericho declares, pulling their attention back to him. “Although I did wish that my son could have met someone without having to kill a drakon,” he stands and takes his plate to the kitchen but pauses in the threshold. “Same rules apply to you as they do Scar and Fin. Door open at least 3 inches,” Tyler rolls his eyes and stands.
“We’re adults, y’know?”
“You’re too young to be parents. 3 inches.”
