The pancake incident
Wally x G!N reader
As you know, Wally cannot cook. While Wally was talking to Frank about making breakfast in bed for Eddie. Wally wanted to do the same thing for you.
So while you’re asleep. He tried to make pancakes. Well, that didn’t even well. It was completely burnt, and there was a few missing / wrong ingredients since Wally tried to make it out of memory since he couldn’t find his cook book. He tried to make some more but he some how got the milk on fire.
Yeah… so when you woke up, the first thing you smelt is burnt food, at first you thought the house was on fire and you panicked before Wally walked in with burnt pancakes which were very.. clearly uneatable. “I made them for you, Darling!” He chirped. “Aww thank you, sweetheart.” You smiled. You watched as he sat there and waited for you to take a bite. You grabbed a fork and and nervously smiled at him. Well, you tried to cut it and it almost slipped off your plate, you took a bite and it was like a brink. You chewed it and smile and nodded at him, you just couldn’t break his heart. “It’s good” you smiled, your eyes got teary. It was horrible, there was egg shells, it was hard like a brick, it was burnt and there was salt instead of sugar and an odd texture. I guess your expression said other wise. “Are you okay, you look don’t look alright.” He asked softly tilting his head. “I’m fine” you Choked up, you put your thumbs up. “I just need milk.” You smiled at him trying to choke infront of him again. “How silly of me! I’ll get it for you.” He runs out of the room.
When Wally left the room you got up open the window and threw the pancakes away. Your aim was something alright..Well poor Barnaby was walking by the neighborhood and next thing you know he’s knocked out by brick pancakes when you saw this you immediately closed the window and went back to bed.
“DARLING I’M BACK!!” Wally walks in with a cup of milk in his hand. He neatly sits near you on the bed, he gives you a small peck. “Here it is!. Wait you already finished the pancakes were they that good?!” He smiles, he had this bright look in eyes. “Ehh, yeah they were great.” You awkwardly smiled while he stared at you. You grab the milk from Wally’s hands and completely gulp it. God, you wanted to get rid of that taste. “I’m just thirsty, thank you they were great, Wally.” You grinned. You caress his face, of course he blushes and turns a pink shade before pulling him in for a kiss.
Later that day..
“I wonder what happened with Barnaby, he’s been out for like a few hours.” Julie looks at Frank. “Is that a brick next to him??” Eddie questioned pointing at Wally’s pancake. “Is he even breathing” Sally asked slightly mortified. Poppy just pokes him with a stick. “Omg they killed Barnaby, em’ bastards.” Howdy chimes in. Eddie picks up the black pancake brick and examines it. “Woah what happened?” Barnaby slowly gets up. Everyone one screams in terrors not expecting him to wake up, out of fear Eddie hits Barnaby with the pancake again which knocks him out… again. “God damn it Eddie you knocked him out again” howdy says turning to Eddie. “IM SORRY!” He apologizes.

(Work can also be found on my ao3. Art used for fanfic done by @/partycoffin )
[I'd be happy to take any requests as well! Shoot me an ask anytime]
~°.•☆*~`.°☆~*'•.`°~☆•.*,°`.'°☆~
It was a nice relaxing sunny day in the neighborhood. The sun was shining bright, the sky painted a beautiful sky blue, fluffy white clouds slowly drifting above. Your friends had invited you out to play at the park. You gladly accepted their invitation as you haven't left your house for the past couple of days. Surely it wouldn't hurt to get some sunlight and play with your friends right?
After walking around your house spending some time trying to find your favorite ball you use to play fetch with barnaby, this found it hiding underneath your couch. You grabbed it and brushed the dust off. you quickly ran outside and headed straight to the park. You were running so fast you didn't even notice that deep hole in the ground coming straight your way. And in the blink of an eye the tip of your foot dragged against the deep hole sending you to plummet straight to the ground. But before you could break for impact, a big pair of light blue fuzzy colored paws grabbed hold of your arms bringing you straight back to your feet.
"Whoa there (y/n)! There's no need to be in such a hurry. The park isn't that far buddy!" Barnaby chuckled and slapped your back. You grimaced at the sudden slap but smiled seeing the rest of your friends where already here but, your friend Wally Darling was missing from the group.
You wondered where he could be. It wasn't like him to be late for a get together...how odd.
You stared at the ground for a slight minute. A faint frown painted your face wondering if wally was to ever show up. But you have the whole day after all There! 'Just be patient (y/n). He probably had something important to do' you thought to yourself before shaking the negative thoughts out of your head as you and the rest of the gang proceeded to walk to the park together.
There was Julie with a picnic basket happily swinging back and forth in her hands as she skipped her way to the park. Finding the perfect spot near a field of flowers Julie began to set up the picnic. She layed out a large red and white checkered blanket and set out the plates, cups and forks. "Hey Julie do you need any help?" You asked as you plopped down on the grass setting your ball beside you. "Hi (y/n)! I sure could use some help thank you for asking! Could you please organize the plates and cups and math them with the correct color?" You nodded with a smile and did exactly as asked. You organized the colorful plates and cups with their respective matching colors. They even had the names of everyone from the neighborhood. You even had your own plate as well! And it was your favorite color too. 'Julie is such a good friend' you thought as you smiled sweetly, staring at the plate a little longer before setting it down.
You glanced over to look at the surprisingly large amount of food Julie had packed. Small sandwiches, gelatin for who you assume is for frank, (your favorite food/snack) oh boy you couldn't wait to dig in! Some apples for wally and a comedically large 3 tier cake. Its colorful frosting surely would catch anyone's attention. It was a bit odd but it was nice to look at. It looked yummy too.
After the 2 of you were done setting up the picnic you got up and grabbed your ball. "Hey barnaby! Wanna play some catch?" You hollered watching barnaby quickly run towards you at lightning speed. "You bet I do! You get any better at throwing? Last time we played you threw it so close it felt more like I was picking the ball that up you kept dropping. It was really boring." the dog joked grinning at the offended look on your face. "I was just tired that day!" You huffed and stomped your foot. "And just so you know I'm most definitely better at throwing things now! So you better get ready!" You huffed some more before taking a few steps back while you watched Barnaby take a few steps back as well. "Ok! HERE I GOOOOO!" you yelled as you threw the ball high into the air watching as it traveled in the sky.
Perhaps...you might have thrown it a little too far. It doesn't seem like barnaby could catch it in time. And it looks like the ball is headed right towards wallys house.
Oh you poor silly fool!
Closing your eyes shut and slapping your hands over your face you were prepared to gear the shattering of glass breaking from a window. But..there was no such sound. What happened? Did the ball fly over the house instead? Removing your hands and slowly opening your eyes you saw a familiar blue hair individual walking your way tossing a certian ball up and down in right hand while his other rested behind his back.
It was wally...
Your heart started to skip a beat, your face becoming flushed and hot, and your hands started to get sweaty.
Oh- did I forget to mention you had certian feelings for your kind dear neighbor wally? What was there to not like about this man? He was a kindly spoken gentlemen. Sure he could be a little empty headed at times but that's what you loved about him.
If only you had the courage to tell him how you really feel.
If...
O n ly...
You swallowed the saliva that gathered in your mouth and waved at wally as he aproched you. "Hello (y/n), looking for this?" He spoke in his usual calm soft voice. He held up the ball. You sheepishly nodded your head. Embarrassed at the fact you almost threw that ball straight into wallys house. "U-uh yes. Sorry about that-" you mumbled. Struggling to find the right words to say. Smiling, wally softly grabbed ahold of your hand and placed the ball in your palm and cupped his hand over yours. Looking straight into your eyes wally tilted his head to the side, his smile never leaving his face. "You should be more careful neighbor. It'd be a shame for you to lose your favorite ball." He whispered.
You wanted to say 'thank you wally, I'll be more careful next time!' But all the came out of your mouth was "...uh-uh." Wally chuckled and walked over to Julie before barnaby ran back towards you. Panting heavily, Hunching over wth his paws rested on his knees. "Geez (y/n) if I had known you throw that hard I would have suggested we play another game instead" you patted the dogs back and softly apologized. "Hey it's alright! You did prove me wrong though! You got a good arm (y/n)!" You grinned while proudly placing your hands on your hips. "Why thank you! Did you wanna take a break and eat with others?" Barnaby shook his head. "Nah! I've got so much energy after chasing the ball! Hey- why don't we play a game of tag?" Barnaby asked standing straight up after finally managing to catch his breath. "That sounds like a good ide-"
"TAG. YOU'RE IT"
Barnaby ran leaving you standing there like a baffled idiot. "Barnaby that's not fair!" You shouted as you proceeded to chase after him while the two of you laughed. The game went on for so long. You even managed to accidentally knock frank into a bush while he was inspecting a butterfly. "Opps! Sorry about that frank!" You quickly pulled frank out of the bush and helped brushed him off. "You best be careful when running around (y/n). You could hurt someone or even hurt yourself- uh?" before frank could scold anymore you had already run off after seeing barnaby coming straight towards you.
Circling around a tree you run as fast as you could to get barnaby off your tail but he was pretty fast considering how big he is. Using the rest of the energy you had left you bolted to the right towards the flower patch. Looking behind you already ended up gaining a couple feet between barnaby and yourself. You let out a breathy laugh. "HA TAKE THAT BARNABY! I'M THE FASTEST IN THE NEIGHBORHO- OOF-" without keeping your eyes in front of you you failed to see a large patch of dirt sitting right in front of your path. And barnaby was too far away to catch you this time.
You fell straight down, roughing up your knees in the process. You let out a low long groan as you laid there with your face buried in the dirt and pebbles. "(Y/N)!" You heard barnaby shout as you began to slowly sit yourself up. The burning and stinging sensation on your knees was enough to bring tears to your eyes. You bit down on your lip to keep the sobs from escaping your throat. The bubbling feeling in your throat grew as you stared at your bloody knees. You looked up seeing barnaby and the others running your direction. "(Y/n) are you okay?!" Julie asked kneeling down and slowly rubbed her hand up and down your back to help soothe you. "Y-yeah I'm fine. I wasn't p-paying attention" frank frowned and shook his head. "I told you you need to be careful when running around (y/n). You need to get home and tend to those cuts before they get infected." Before you could respond wally walked over, placing one arm behind your back and the other hooking under your legs. He held you up, carrying you close to his chest. "I'll take (y/n) back home." "Are you sure you don't need help?" Barnaby asked looking awfully concerned. Wally simply nodded and began to walk to the direction of his house.
Oh could you feel even more embarrassed? You just had to go and act like a fool and not pay attention! Now here you are, carried in wallys arms and cut up and trying you awful best to hold back your weeping sobs. It didn't take long to make it back to wallys house after the silent walk back.
Once walking inside wally carefully sat you down on the couch in his living room. "Wait right there. I'll be right back." You nodded watching wally walk towards the back. You let out a soft sigh staring down at your knees. "Way to make a fool of yourself infront of wally (y/n) you idiot. This day couldn't be anymore worse." you whispered to yourself cringing as you replied the moment you fell in your head. "Did you say something (y/n)?" Wally asked as he came back with a box of bandages, cotton balls and a bottle of hydroxide. You flinched not hearing him walk back in the living room. He sure is a quiet one isn't he?
"OH- UHM, n-no I didn't say anything...haha" you awkwardly spoke watching wally kneel down on the ground infront of you. You stared as he opened the brown colored bottle grabbing a cotton ball he carefully doused the soft fluffy white ball in the liquid. Gently, he grasped the back of your leg lifting your knee up. "This is going to sting a little bit ok? If it hurts too much just tell me to stop." You swallowed and nodded your head slowly bracing yourself for the pain. The closer wally moved the cottonball the more you tried your best to move your leg away. "Now, now (y/n). Remember what frank said? If we don't get this taken care of your cuts will get infected. And it will hurt alot more if you leave it the way it is. Do you really want that? Hmm?" Wally had a good point. You didn't want your cuts to get more worse. You shook your head. "Good. Just stay still. I'll be as gentle as I can". Wally spoke im a soft calming tone.
Your roughly gripped the couch seats hissing at the stinging sensation tingling as the wet ball lightly dabbed against your skin. The feeling spread through out your knee. It hurt alot and you wanted to tell wally to stop but you had to be strong and push through this. You felt more tears begin to well up in the corner of your eyes while you bit down on your bottom lip. 'It's almost over. Just one more knee and you're done (y/n)' you reassured yourself as wally moved to work on the next leg. "You're doing good. Just a couple more seconds" wally hummed cleaning up your wound on the other knee. After he was done wiping up your cut a lightly blew on the cut to make it dry faster. Your body shivered at the coolness against your throbbing skin. It was a nice feeling.
Really nice.
After making sure your cuts were dry wally placed a band-aid on each knee. "And there you go. All done~" he happily sung looking up at you. You still had your eyes closed shut. Your tears streaming down your red flushed cheeks. "Hmm..." wally sounded. "I heard from poppy about the best medicine one can receive when they're hurt. Do you know what that medicine is (y/n?)" He asked not looking away. You shook your head. Your lips trembling as you let out soft shakey whimpers. "The best medicine one can receive when they're not feeling good you see..." he paused. Moving his hand to softly grasp your calf while his other rested against the heel of your foot.
"Is a kiss."
Wally softly pressed a sweet kiss against your bandaged knee. Leaving his lips there for a few seconds before pressing another loving kiss to the other. You opened your eyes, face still flushed a bright red as you watched wally sweetly kiss your knee before lightly pressing his cheek against your skin. "Does that feel better?" He asked. You nodded and softly smiled. "Ahh there's that smile I like to see". Wally hummed, reaching up to wipe away the rest of your tears. His thumb brushing against your cheek. "I really do hate to see you so upset (y/n). It hurts my heart so much" he whispered staring into your eyes.
There was a short moment of silence. The 2 of you just stared at each other with soft expressions before wally spoke up again. "Please don't ever say you're an idiot. That's just not true. You're a lovely person." Your eyes widened. "So...you heard that?" You mumbled. He didn't respond. Just continued to stare at you with his usual smile and droopy eyes. "I think you're really neat (y/n). You bring so much light in any room you walk in." He cupped your cheek in his hand as he leaned forward bringing his hand to sotly pet the top of your head. "You're so good for me. Always helping our friends and making them smile. You're very very good." His smile grew wider when he watched your flustered reaction. You enjoyed the sudden praise and comfort. It was definitely something you needed.
Wally cupped both your cheeks this time forcing you to look up at him. You held in your breath as you stared into his eyes. His pupils seemed...more larger than they were a few seconds ago.
"....I really like you too."
You opened your mouth to speak but wally cut you off. "(Y/n) will you promise me you'll try to be a little more careful when you play with our friends?" You stayed silent for a minute before answering. "I- I promise to be more careful." Wally hummed letting go of your face and reached down and grabbed hold of your hands. Intertwining your fingers together. "Shall we go back to our friends now?" He asked helping you up off the couch. "Hehe, yes let us go back to our friends." You replied back in a soft voice.
And with that you both walked back to the park, hand in hand with smiles spread across your faces.
Maybe this day was going to go alright alright after all.
THE END.

"I know what you are."
(Takes place in the Alive AU)
You're dancing with Mr.Darling, glaring right at him while he continues to wear that smug look, staring right back at you.
You know what he is and what his motives are, and he knows that you know but you're both in the spotlight right now, dancing slowly to the music, hips swinging to the beat and one hand at your hip. He's got quite a death grip like he's afraid that you might just disappear right in front of him. The two of you decide to keep up the friendly looks...for now.
The red and pink lights are shining brightly, momentarily blinding you. And in that second you're suddenly thrown back and bent over backwards, Wally just above you and his hand now moved to your mid-back. He has you in what looks like the perfect dip. He slowly leans down close to your face, not once blinking or moving from his pose. "Let's discuss this after dinner." He whispers, something he's never really done before. You're used to his monotone voice.
'You're in danger', your instincts keep screaming at you. Every time he stares at you with that look your body goes into a panic.
There is no way you're going to let this monster take you back "Home". Not without a fight.
Technically you can just call him Mr.Darling since that's his last name. I am starting to enjoy writing this charming fella as smug and vain. He makes for a good villain that knows what he wants. First part of the dance shorts I wanted to make, next one is going to be the long one. These two will be unrelated btw.

Imagine:
Imagine Wally's having a bad day, something that doesn't often happen and he goes to you looking for comfort to get away from the negative thoughts he's had quickly slumping his body onto yours the moment you open your arms for him. Small arms wrap tightly around your waist holding onto you as if his life depended on it. His eyes heavy as he presses his ear against your chest listening to the soft sounds of your beating heart allowing the sounds to soothe his heavy head.
As you gently rub your hand along his back he mumbles such a soft request, one that makes your heart melt: "Say, 'I love you". Such a small request, one of which you are happy to fill. "I love you." your words went straight over his head as Wally glanced up at you his eyes still heavy with something you couldn't quite place "Say it again.." your gaze softened as your repeated the three words. You watched in soft awe when half lidded eyes widened ever so slightly, shining like a child who had received a new toy. "Again.." and as your repeated the words again and again, willing to repeat the phrase a million times over if he so wished, he smiled. Wally's smile was gentle, pure and sweet aside from the obvious exhaustion that laced his feature. Finally, after a few more times he finally gave you a response back;
"I love you too."

WALLY DARLING X READER ONESHOT - AN UNFORSEEN FRIENDSHIP
GO BACK HOME? | GO TO NEIGHBORHOOD!!
Part 1 - Part 2 - part 3 - part 4 - part 5 - part 6 - part 7 - part 8 - part 9 - You
Tumblr media
You and Wally have been friends for a while now, and life was very good!! Wally was a sweet little guy!! He was easy to care for and he helped out around the house when he could!! He was nice, caring, considerate, open minded, and very adorable!! You loved having him around. But, it wasn't always like this.
You see, you were a regular citizen, you paid your taxes, you went grocery shopping, you took care of bills, and you relaxed at home. Life was a little boring, especially when you had moved out. You weren't used to doing things on your own 24/7, so it got lonely at times, but you pushed through. But you did wish that your life had something worthwhile.
You were walking to the store one day, going to get a light snack, when you saw what looked to be a child, if not a toddler running around the back of the store. They seemed happy and safe, but they didn't have a parent with them. You worried for them, as terrible thoughts ran through your brain. Your heart out heighted your logic, and you decided to get involved.
The closer you got, the more you realized that this 'child' wasn't a child at all. They were far too properly dressed for one, sure private school and church on Sunday were a thing. But, you didn't have any private school within your area, and it was Wednesday. You continued to approach, trying to get a grasp on what it was you were seeing. They had blue hair that was up in.... a cinnamon roll like shape....? And weirdest of all were the pants and the yellow skin.
You stopped walking towards the creature, and you decided to observe it for a moment. It seemed joyous and golly, running around and playing in the rain puddles. It didn't seem dangerous. It was, in fact, childlike and very innocent. So you decided to approach it. Once close enough, you crouched down to their level. From the tone of voice, it was a male. He seemed to be giggling at something. He didn't notice you, so you decided to pick up a small stone, and you threw it.
The clacking of the rock made the little guy look around, and he saw you. He didn't seem fearful of you, but he was rather shy. He placed his hands behind his back, and he rocked on the heels and balls of his feet. You stared at him, just observing him. He seemed to be.... a toy? Like a doll of some sorts. You almost didn't want to believe it, but just from the lack of nose, the fabric looking skin? It was just confirming that he was a walking and living doll.
You nearly wanted to run away from him. The sight of him was adorable yet slightly scary, but you held strong, and you spoke to him first. You wouldn't feel right knowing that he was left out here all alone. "Hi... I'm (Y/N)... what's your name?" You asked the little guy. He stayed quiet for a moment longer before he looked up at you bashfully.
"Why, I'm Wally... Wally Darling... I'm pleased to meet you, (Y/N)" He said. You seemed almost lost in a daze. He sounded like one of those cartoon characters from the late 60s. It was trippy, but you didn't dwell on it. You then smiled brightly at him, trying to hide your emotion from him, and it seemed to work as he smiled back. He had a charming little smile.
"Well, Wally... what are you doing out here?" You asked him, looking around the area, seeing if he had an 'Owner'? He looked down, and he shrugged. "I'm lost, and I saw this puddle, so I started playing with it." He answered. You stared at him, and your heart practically melted on the spot. He really was like a child, just out here, all alone, wondering from place to place, and drawn to the littlest of things.
Your mind was made up, and you stared at him with a determined stare. "How about this, Wally... Why don't you come home with me?... This way you can have a bath, a change of clothes, and you'll be in a safe place too." You offered him. His bashfulness left almost immediately, and he beamed at you with the brightest smile you ever saw. "Home!? You'll take me home!?" He asked excitedly. You smiled down at him, and you nodded your head.
He practically vibrated where he stood, and he cheered. "HOT DOG!! I GET TO GO HOME!!" He cheered as he bounced around happily. You chuckled at his curtness. 'This is going to be so worth it.' You thought. After he calmed down, he looked at you, and he beamed. "WHEN DO WE GO HOME!?" He asked excitedly. You stood up straight, and you placed your hands on your hips. "Well, we can go home now, actually. Now that I'm looking at you better.... you're going to need a bath, Wally."
You said as you observed him. His shoes were untied and covered in dirt, his pants were covered in dirty stains along with his cardigan, and his hair had small twigs and leaves. His face was miraculously clean. He looked down at himself and he looked back up at you with a shy smile as he placed his feet together, and he held one hand behind his head, and he hid the other behind his back. "Oh yeah... I guess I am a bit dirty." He said embarrassedly.
You smiled and shook your head at him. You held your hand out for him to take, and he stared at it in confusion before he looked up at you. A sweet smile was on your face as you looked down at him. "Come on, Wally.. Let's go home." You said sweetly. His eyes seemed to gloss over before he blinked, and he beamed up at you. He grabbed your hand, and he walked with you. A cute little bounce in his step as he walked next to you. He was small, coming up to your hip if not your waist, but you strangle liked it. It was a part of his little charm.
Together, you both walked home, and from there on, your new life began, and an adventure started for you both. It's gonna be wacky and full of surprises, but it was all worth it. You and him both made a friend that day, and you both hoped it lasted forever.

it had been a few weeks since you and wally had been seeing each other. time seemed to move a bit slower in the neighborhood, but you associated that with the bliss of being utterly comfortable where you were. when you had moved to the neighborhood, you were off-put by how quiet it was. from what you were told it was a bustling community full of games, jokes being told, pies and other baked good being baked and other types of fun…
but, when you arrived it was quiet. too quiet. it was unnerving say the least.
then you met the only resident. wally darling. as eerie as he was there was always a level of endearment to it. wally seemed harmless, just a tad socially inept. on your first day he invited you over for tea in his home, and you couldn’t help but marvel at the rows after rows of dolls he had.
“oh…those? i made them myself…”
he said it as if it wasn’t a big deal. his level of craftsmanship wasn’t lost on even you, who had no idea how to make anything like that. they were so pretty…and he seemed to appreciate your enthusiasm and compliments, even going as far as to make one of you. most people would have found that creepy…especially with how many details of you he had captures on such a small base, even going as far as to point out his favorite ones.
least to say, you were swooned. head over heels for him, and you wanted to show your appreciation for both his hospitality and for you to express you feelings for him. your crafting skills were…limited least to say. the only thing you could wrap your head around besides from drawing was clay, and so you spent all night making a heart shaped…object…for wally, even going out to find a cute box to paint over for the heart shaped ‘thing’ to be held in.
looking down at the box in your hands as you make your trek to wally’s house, you couldn’t help but feel a bit anxious about how he’d feel about it. there was no doubt about it; wally’s skill level was leaps and bounds above your’s, so that left one question: would he even accept your gift? you could only hope not.
…you weren’t even able to get your fingerprints off of it like most people are able to.
pushing all of that aside, you were already at his doorstep seemingly within a blink of an eye, and now all there was to do was knock. you lifted your arm up stiffly and knocked.
“coming.” he announced through the door, and you heard his footsteps approaching. you jumped when he opened the door, his usual lax smile on his face. you quickly hid his present behind your back without thinking. “ah, neighbor. you’re a bit early today…” you smile the best smile you could muster and giggled. “well, i wanted to come and see you early this time! i hope that’s okay…” you watch his lazy grin grow and your face warms. despite you at first being apprehensive to him, you quickly found out that he was just as kind as any other person.
“oh, neighbor. you know that my doors are always open. all you need to do is call or knock and if i’m able, and available, then you’re always welcome…” he responded lowly, standing in his doorway. his words were sweet, but they did nothing to soothe your already growing anxiety. it bubbled up in you just like before. “…thank you, wally…i really appreciate that.”
he responded with a nod, before stepping aside and motioning for you to come in. “anything for you, lovely.”
the pet name made your heart swell, as you stepped inside, making sure to angle yourself so that he wouldn’t be able to see the box you had in your hands. you hear the door click closed, the lock following. he turned to you with an eyebrow raised. “…neighbor…” he put a hand on his face, amused with the fact you were so obviously hiding something behind your back. “what’s that you’ve got there…?” he inquired, pointing, and you felt yourself shrink, your eyes shifting to the floor.
“o-oh…well…uhm…” his gaze was intense now. he was looking for your answer in your body language due to the now lack of eye contact between the both of you. “yes, precious?” he urged you to continue, leaning down a tad to be eye level with you. your eyes were glued to the floor, however. after a bit of silence, you suck in a breath and tap your foot on the floorboards underneath your feet. you stay silent for a moment, the only thing filling the silence is the sound of wally’s large grandfather clock ticking away every second you weren’t speaking. “i…i uhm…made you something…” you finally mumbled under your breath, your eyes flicking up to him for a moment.
“what was that, dear? i couldn’t quite hear you. you were mumbling.” you couldn’t tell if wally was teasing you or being serious. he did have a tendency to do that accidentally…only occasionally doing it on purpose when he realized what he said had affected you. he stood back to his original height and waited for your response, his intense gaze still on you, making you feel just a bit smaller than usual. you repeat yourself, a bit louder. “i made you something, wally.”
“is that so?” his smile widened, and he outstretched his arms. “can i see what you’ve made me? if you made it i’m sure it’s lovely.” you shake your head, and take a step back, chewing on your bottom lip. eyes back on the floor. “it’s not that good, really. it’s really not as good as the stuff you make so…”
“…so…what, precious…?” there was a dangerous edge to his voice you couldn’t quite place a finger on. you knew he probably didn’t mean for it to startle you, but you felt yourself shrink into yourself just a bit more at it. wally seemed to notice, and you watched his shoulders lax. he quickly corrects. you forget that he had an edge to him at times. that’s what being alone for so long will do to people, you think.
“it’s alright. really. i’m sure whatever you’ve made me is just as nice as you are. as nice as you have been.”
you look up and into at his red orbs and let out a bitter chuckle. “you’re only saying that because you’re curious.” you respond, raising an eyebrow at him. he shrugs off your accusation with the same smile as before. “can you blame me? my favorite neighbor—“ only neighbor. you don’t correct. you don’t dare. “— visits me with a gift, and now doesn’t want me to see it? who wouldn’t be curious?” dammit. he had a good point. you were stumped, and running out of energy to fight, so with a sigh you revealed the small box from behind your back. your face burned as soon as you saw wally’s eyes train on the small box in your hands. he hummed, before taking it away from you, your arms falling limply to your sides as you counted away the seconds until doomsday.
…okay…maybe doomsday was a bit overdramatic…but if he didn’t like it you would most definitely be thinking about that for the next few weeks. definitely. you mentally crossed your fingers, and let out a weak ‘surprise’ as you watched him open the box, his intense gaze fixing onto the smaller object inside.
he was silent. dead silent. so silent in fact that you were sure you didn’t even see him take another breath in. his chest stopped rising and falling as his intense gaze softened for a moment. “…see? i told you it wasn’t as good as the stuff you make—“ your hand clamps around your forearm for comfort as your shift.
“gods, i’m sorry wally—“
“…oh…neighbor it’s…this is…!” he looked up at you from the box in his hands with glazed over eyes. tears threatening to spill. he looked back down and plucked the small heart shaped clay piece out of the confines of the box and let out a shaky breath. “…it’s…it’s perfect…” he moved over to the table next to the front door and deposited the box in order to hold the heart in the palms of his hands, as if it was the most precious gem. as if it was made of glass and one drop would threaten to break it. you stood there…confused…almost shocked.
“…it is…? i mean i just like—“ you immediately begin to backpedal. you had never seen wally so passionate before except a few times, so this was almost scary. you weren’t even able to get your fingerprints off the damn thing, much less make the shape look uniform.
“yes. yes. it’s…it’s so cute…and…you made it for me? did you really, neighbor…?” wally asked, looking at you with a warm smile. “it’s wonderful. thank you. you even put my initials on it…” he outstretched a palm and pointed to the small detail, utterly infatuated. sometimes you forgot his eye for small details. you felt like a ant under a magnifying glass. studied.
you laugh and blush, rubbing the back of your neck. “oh…well. ya know…didn’t want it to get lost…!” at that, wally let out a warm chuckle, and a sniffle, regaining his composure as he continued on. “well, i assure you neighbor, the detail is appreciated…and i won’t be losing this anytime soon.” he took a step closer.
“…no…in fact…i’ll be keeping it close. as close as i can…” his voice was hushed, his grin wide and his eyes narrowing with it. you swallow thickly, face red. was he talking about you…or the gift? stars, which one was less likely to make you explode? “i’m…i’m glad.” was all you were able to muster out. wally didn’t miss a beat, however, leaning a bit again to catch your gaze, gift still in his hands. his hand went to cup your cheek, and you swore you could see a glint in his eye. “why are you so red, precious? aren’t i supposed to be the flustered one here?” his thumb stroked your cheek. yep. he was definitely doing it on purpose this time. you huff and put your hands on your hips. “listen here, if this is how you’re gonna react every time i give you a gift, this may be your last one, buster.” you turn your back to him and begin to walk towards the dining room to have a seat, pulling away from his touch, but the ghost of it was still there.
“precious.”
he called out, and you turned to see him now holding the heart in-between his thumb and forefinger to where you could see it; a mischievous glint in his red eyes. you shuddered and narrowed your eyes at him. “…what…?” you spat playfully.
“…was this you giving me your heart?”

author’s note ⊹˚. ♡
thank you for the request, neighbor! it was such a sweet one. i really enjoyed writing this one.
i also have a few things to go over, actually:
firstly, i’d like to thank you all for the requests and the likes and the follows! i’m really surprised i’ve been getting the attention i’ve been getting. thank you all for that.
secondly, i’d like to ask for a few things if that’s alright.
1) reblogs. self explanatory. likes don’t really do anything for me traction-wise as you may or may not know and i’d like for more people to be able to see my things!
2) can you all pretty please be more specific with the things you’d like for me to write? if you just send me a prompt and not specifically state that you’d like headcanons, or a drabble then i have no idea what you’d like.
3) more feedback. i want to grow as an author so criticism is of course encouraged and welcomed.
besides from that, ill be working on my reboot wally fanfiction over on ao3 and the requests i have lined up for me at the moment. thank you guys for the support. it means a bunch./gen

Adventures of Wally & The Gang (plus their Caretaker)
Adventures of Wally and the Gang (plus their Caretaker)
Associates Meeting (one-shot)
Warnings: None. Just fluff and funsies honestly; silly antics some of the cast members get themselves into. By no means are my interpretations in relation to Clown’s work, and therefore, not canonically based. Consider this an introduction to the whimsical one-shots to come with our dear Caretaker and the gang.
Word Count: 1,970
Brief Description: Set in the modern world, the Welcome Home cast is alive and aware, living alongside humans. And you have been contracted to be their Caretaker. [you are referred to by the puppets as “Caretaker” or “Care” for short.]
Dedication: @nonomives @kandavers
*blows kiss* Wanted to give you both this as my debut.
[I am open to constructive criticism, feedback and ideas! Please inbox me if you have any! I’m a bit rusty with writing, so I appreciate any insight]
In a world much like the Muppets, puppets co-exist with humans. Although the colorful ensemble of characters from the beloved children’s TV show portrays themselves as sweet, educational, fun-loving personas-- when they aren’t on the air, they happen to get themselves into quite a lot of mischief. And you, the lucky individual that you are, have been contracted as their Caretaker to ensure these chaotic puppet actors stay on schedule and don’t put themselves in situations that could cause bad publicity.
You walked off set after speaking to one of the producers as the show had wrapped up earlier than expected. This made it easier to schedule the upcoming appointments you had meticulously organized around the otherwise busy puppet’s schedules. With clipboard in hand, you made your way over to the break area, where most of the cast members were chatting with stagehands, makeup artists, or lounging in their deck chairs.
“All right everyone!” You clapped your hands together to garner the attention of the cast, all eyes turning to you except for Barnaby standing over the spread table, hungrily grabbing at the box of doughnuts one of the interns had placed out. You deadpan at him before shouting his name, earning an audible hmph?! as the blue mass turned to look at you, a sprinkled doughnut hanging from his mouth, with two others in hand.
“Okaaaay—now that I have everyone’s attention, we have an early flight to catch tomorrow for our meeting with our studio associates, which will take place later in the afternoon once we’ve arrived.” You scan the break area to ensure they’re still listening, amused by Julie and Sally as they respond with shared squeals, already chatting about plans to sightsee the area and meet their adoring fans. Their bubbly response caused you to grin momentarily, before turning serious.
“That means! You all need to be awake, packed, and ready to go at 6 A.M. sharp.” You say sternly, now earning loud groans from a few of the puppets.
“Okay, okay.” You waved your hand dismissively to the choir of complaints. You didn’t know why they were complaining, considering they usually wake up this early in the morning to start the show. Rolling your eyes, you let out a breath, mentally preparing for whatever shenanigans these puppets will pull on you later. “You guys have the rest of the day to relax since it’s only 2 P.M. right now. Just remember, we need to stick to the schedule. I don’t want to have to explain myself to the Manager if things derail.”
With a resounding “All right” from everyone, you went your parting ways and continued to work out the schedule’s details. “Also! Julie, you better pack light! We are only staying for two days, so don’t bring your whole wardrobe with you—again…” You called after her, ignoring her refusal to do so.
[Next Day: 5:41 A.M.]
You grabbed your duffle bag, slinging it over your shoulder before grabbing the briefcase on your way out of your small apartment. Before descending the stairs of the apartment building, you turn back in to grab your coffee, yawning in the process. “Ugh, gonna be a long day.” You murmur to yourself, the lingering drowsiness from slumber not yet leaving your body. You check the time on your phone as you take a gentle sip. You only lived a 7-minute walk away from the set, which you were grateful for since (1) You didn’t own a car and (2) The Studio provided you with lodging once you agreed to be the cast’s Caretaker. The pay was all right considering the added bonuses of what the Studio provided for you, although, it’s probably due in part to the various applicants that had been hired and then immediately quit due to their lack of ability to actually wrangle the cast from committing any sort of war crimes. (Guess the Studio needed to give some sort of incentive for someone to fill the role). Taking on the task was daunting at first since you quickly learned how eager the members were to push boundaries. You didn’t necessarily blame them for being curious since there was still so much of the world they wanted to learn about. Of course, this made your job more difficult to handle at times.
[5:53 A.M.]
You walked through the studio’s hallways, quietly greeting good mornings to other studio employees as you passed. The meeting location for everyone was in room 2A, usually reserved for auditions, but opened for you to ensure everyone came on time. Arriving at the room, you saw that most of the members had already arrived. Poppy, sitting comically large on one of the chairs and leaning against the wall as she continued to sleep. Barnaby and Wally both lazily tapping on their phones; Frank and Eddie who were both reading; Howdy who had just strolled in with a loud yawn, and…. Julie and Sally? Who weren’t even here yet. Of course, knowing them Sally would come in ‘dramatically’ late, as per usual, and Julie would usually stroll along. You greet those who were already there good morning, earning a few mumbled good mornings in return and a quiet snore from Poppy. You leaned against the wall next to the entrance, taking out your schedule:
6 A.M. - morning roll call
6:10 A.M.- arrive to cars
6:30 A.M. - board private jet
8:30 A.M. (projected arrival time)
9:00 A.M. – early check-in
-
-
-
1:30 P.M. – production meeting
-
-
-
5:30 P.M. – dinner reservation (for self)
-
-
You nod, everything was still on track for the most part… Sally would soon come in beaming and entered the room with a loud, sing-songy “I’m here!”, followed by the same response as the heaving Julie dragged an absurdly stuffed suitcase in tow. The sudden intrusion caused Poppy to jolt awake, everyone else looking over as the pair came in. You glanced at the time, 6:12 A.M.
“You’re late…and I told you to pack light--” You comment, shaking your head gently as the two tried to begin explaining. Raising a hand to stop them, you turned to everyone with a small smile, went over the plans for travel, and ushered them all to the awaiting cars outside.
[8:32 A.M. Landing]
As the jet landed, everyone deplaned and entered the cars that would transport them to the hotel. Once you have all arrived at the hotel, you check everyone in, soon giving them each their own room keys on the same floor. You gave them all a nod of approval as you all entered the elevator and went up to the 14th floor. You all agreed to meet in the lobby after freshening up to discuss any further plans. As you waved to them, you entered your room and took in the welcoming atmosphere. Plush pillows, clean sheets, a stocked mini fridge, a desk, a great window view, and a bathroom full of high-quality amenities you would surely take back home. (No one’s going to miss a few small bottles of shampoo and conditioner anyway). You place your briefcase on the desk, plop the duffle bag on the chair, and throw yourself onto the inviting bed. With arms spread wide, you inhale sharply as you stretch, sighing in contentment for a moment. The temporary silence gave your much-needed overworked mind some peace, before going into the bathroom to get ready. You would soon greet everyone with a much chippier attitude as they had all been waiting for you in the lobby area. You took notice as more guests began to enter the hotel, some with young children excitedly pointing out Wally and the others, pleading to meet them as their tired parents tried to calm their resounding squeaks. It was times like these when you got a break, witnessing the excitement and wonder of fans felt endearing. You were with a group of celebrities after all. Trying to keep a low profile was, unfortunately, not an option in your field of work.
“So, what do you guys want to do?” Eddie inquires. Everyone began throwing out ideas, Julie insisting they go shopping; Frank, who commented on a museum exhibit; Sally wanting to check out the old (presumably haunted) theaters; Howdy and Poppy bouncing ideas about taking a tour downtown; and Barnaby mentioning an all-you-can-eat buffet. The overwhelming chatter droned out your thoughts as everyone turned to you, arguing that they “Should do this!”, “No, this—“, “Care, I want to—“. You tried hushing everyone as their voices became increasingly loud in volume, garnering more attention from the hotel guests as their rambunctious natures were disturbing the ease of the lobby.
“Hold on, hold on. We only really have three more hours before we go to the meeting, so we might not be able to do everything today—” You try to console everyone, your response not satisfying the puppets as they began bickering amongst themselves. You heard a few complaints that you were being too ‘strict’, too ‘uptight’, ‘just relax a bit will ya, we’ve got time’. You huff, knowing you needed them all together since they’d do ‘who knows what’ when apart from you. Maybe you should just ask to be promoted from Caretaker to Glorified Babysitter at this point, the title is more suitable. You attempted to hush them again, only to be met with more insistence that they do “this idea, or that”. You could barely put a word in as your eyes slowly fell on Wally, who in his usual laid-back manner, said nothing. Simply observing the conversations and locking eyes on you.
You could tell by his demeanor, mischievous grin on his face, he was brewing up a plan. Your eyes narrow, squinting at him as you both engaged in a stare-down. “Don’t—” You emphasized, everyone else taking notice and silently watching. “Wally. Do not—”
“Scatter.”
“I said-- Ah!--?!” Before you could protest, you were encased in oversized blue arms, Barnaby coming up to give you a hug from behind, his chuckles booming loudly in your ears. He picked you up slightly, your legs kicking as you tried yelling for them all to “Get back here!”. Both Sally and Julie bolted for the entrance, waving hello and goodbye to those they passed by; Howdy and Poppy scuttled away, continuing to chat; Frank and Eddie looked at each other before heading to the museum, as Wally sneakily exited stage left. You went limp in Barnaby’s arms, cheeks red with frustration as you slowly descended back onto your feet. He chuckled, patting your shoulder (insult to injury).
“You know kid, you should just take it easy. We finally have some downtime, just let ‘em go and have some fun. Same with you, see you in a bit.” He chimed, walking off to the hotel’s restaurant.
You stood there in defeat, running your hands up and down your face before pinching the bridge of your nose. As expected, it was gonna be a long day indeed.
[2:03 P.M. Associates Meeting]
“Shouldn’t they have been here already?”
“Yeah, I tried calling Care, but they hadn’t respo—”
You burst into the meeting room, hair disheveled, breathing heavy with Wally and Julie tucked under your arms while the rest of the members stood behind you with smiles and greetings. You stomped in, some of the associates just staring as you plopped the two in their seats as the others strolled in before settling down themselves. You said nothing, cheeks hot and nostrils flared before clearing your throat and smoothing your hair. You move off to the side, taking refuge in the seat placed against the wall. You finally slump, head tilted back and resting on the wall as the meeting began.
Yeah, you needed a promotion… and a raise.

Wally Snuggles? Wally Snuggles! ❤️
Yess, yess naptime cuddles are the best 💙
Wally Darling Snuggle Headcanons!
Wally is the smallest character on the cast, so he’s used to being picked up by almost everyone when in a hurry. So if you are wanting to cuddle, just pick him up and he goes lip like a ragdoll. But when he wants to cuddle, he will have no problem expressing the need for a nap and cuddles on the couch.
He will lay there with you the whole day if that’s what you want to do that day. As long as it doesn't disrupt plans with your guys other friends, cuddle away! He likes to sleep on top of you like a cat, will even do the biscuit making as a joke if you comment on it.
If you guys are spotted by your friends, be aware that almost all of them WILL be joining the cuddle pile. But that sounds like a nice nap, ya? Sleeping in a pile of soft puppets sounds fun lol

Welcome Home Masterlist
Tumblr media
When you wake up in the morning, you always have the assurance of Wally’s presence beside you. He had a sleep mask on and pajamas but you knew he wasn’t really asleep. Wally didn’t really understand the concept of sleep and took to repeating “I’m sleeping” over and over again in a hushed whisper that lulled you to sleep at night. Right now, though, he was simply smiling, hands folded on his chest.
You leaned over to pull his sleep mask off his face and press a gentle kiss to his forehead. “Hey, sleepyhead.”
“Oh!” His face lit up with delight. “You’re awake!”
You cuddled into his side, resting your head in the space between his neck and shoulder. He smiled and put an arm around you, hugging you closer.
“Yeah…” you replied with a tired groan. “Five more minutes before we get out of bed, though. I’m still sleepy.”
“Take your time, my love.” Wally kissed your head as you lay there, peaceful and happy in his arms.
You weren’t sure what you did to deserve this life with Wally but you certainly knew you loved it. You loved that you realized your feelings for each other, that you moved into Home with him, and that you were able to start off every morning like this.
Soon, you’d be out of bed and in the kitchen, helping each other make pancakes. Perhaps some would burn—Wally wasn’t the greatest cook—but you would laugh it off. At some point, you’d push back Wally’s long blue hair that liked to cover half of his face when down. He didn’t enjoy having to go without his pompadour (he used to hate you seeing him like that especially) but he was used to it now. You’d told him enough about how pretty you found him without all his hair products until he believed it. When his whole face was revealed, you gave him a loving, sweet kiss that he'd lean into with a smile.
After, you’d find yourselves underneath the big apple tree in your yard, humming songs and telling stories. Wally’s hair was done by now, and he had a sketchbook in his lap as he doodled many things, including you. You, meanwhile, were doing your best to make a flower crown. Julie taught you how to the other day. Unfortunately, you didn’t seem to be a quick learner.
“It’s not coming out right,” you whined, disappointment high in your voice.
Wally glanced up from his drawing to look at you. “Here. Let me see.”
You handed him your sad attempt at a flower crown with a frown. Wally didn’t hesitate to put it on his head and he gave you a small smile.
“How do I look?” he asked.
You suppressed a laugh at seeing the ridiculous mess of already-unwinding flowers sat atop him.
“The most.” You leaned over and pressed a kiss to his cheek. “Just as always.”
Wally smiled warmly at you, a bit lovestruck, and you couldn’t help but kiss him again, this time on his mouth.
Being a puppet, Wally didn’t exactly have lips to kiss, just felt. It also meant he didn’t understand the concept of kissing. He knew it was a declaration of love and, by now, he knew it was one of your favorite ways of giving affection. Still, he didn’t actually kiss back so much as press his face against yours as best as possible and make a ‘mwah’ sound when you leaned away. You considered it kissing, though, even if he did it wrong. He was just too adorable.
“You’re the one who's the most, darling,” he cooed.
You felt something ignite in your chest when he called you that. ‘Darling’ being his surname made it all the more flustering.
“But you’re so beautiful,” you insisted. You moved to cradle his face with your hands and he instantly stilled. “Here…” You kissed his forehead. “…here…” You kissed the space between his eyes where a nose would be. “…and here…!” You quickly pressed another kiss to his mouth.
“Mwah!” Wally said enthusiastically when you pulled back.
You giggled and scooted closer beside him. He rested against your side, leaning his head against your arm.
"What're you drawing there?" you hummed after another minute or two.
Wally held up his sketchpad proudly. He was only working with a few crayons and there was nothing but scribbles on the page, yet you were able to recognize your likeness pretty well between the lines.
"You!" he replied with a sappy smile. "It's my favorite thing to draw, after all!"
You immediately threw him into a hug. Wally was much more accustomed to hugs thanks to his fellow neighbors but still went limp in them. It was like embracing a warm ragdoll, and you'd think Wally didn't like it from his lack of reciprocation if it weren't for the happy hum he made when his face was pressed against your shoulder.
"Wally, you're so talented," you told him as you leaned away. "I'm so lucky."
Wally beamed back at you before continuing to color, content. You let him draw, relaxing in the relative silence between you, mind still whirring. As peaceful as the moment was, you couldn't help feeling dismayed.
Wally did too much for you. He was always making art for you, his greatest muse, and he learned your ways of physical affection for you, even if he still didn't understand it all too well. There had to be something you could do for him in return before you felt like a totally inadequate partner to him. You racked your brain as you sat there, quiet, listening only to the sound of Wally's crayons moving against paper. That gave you an idea and you bit back a cheery smile as you made sure to store it away in your thoughts for later.
A few days later, you found yourself in the living room of Home, putting the finishing touches on your masterpiece. Well, okay, 'masterpiece' was a bit of an overstatement. In front of you, sitting atop a pile of old newspapers was a lump of clay very generously deemed a ceramic sculpture of an apple. There were too many bumps in the wrong places and the stem was leaning too far in one direction, making it askew, but it was still an apple!
At least, this is what you told yourself as you leaned back to examine your work. You put a finger to your mouth thoughtfully.
"I don't know..." you talked out loud to yourself. Then, remembering who you were with, asked, "What do you think, Home?"
Home made a sound that sounded like a door squeaking. You were pretty sure that was a good thing.
But, before you could mull over it any longer, you heard the front door open. You shot up from your spot on the couch, taking the ceramic in your hands and hiding it behind your back. A moment later, Wally walked in, a slight smile on his face that grew bigger upon seeing you.
"Hi, love!" you greeted, trying to seem as not suspicious as possible. "How was hanging out with Julie and Frank?"
"Fun." Wally nodded. "We chased a lot of butterflies. Frank got mad when I asked if I could keep them."
"Aw, I'm sorry."
"It's alright." Wally shrugged. "Friends shouldn't be caged in anyway. They should be flying free."
You smiled at the sentiment and leaned in to kiss his cheek, only to stop when he spoke again.
"What do you have behind you?" he asked, genuinely curious.
You leaned back suddenly with a nervous smile. "Huh? Oh, nothing!"
"Can I see it?"
You rolled the ceramic in your hand, feeling every lump and crevice with a frown. Yet, you looked into Wally's big, black eyes, soft and caring as they stared back at you intently, and couldn't help but give in.
"Okay. Fine..." you sighed as you pulled the apple out from behind you. "It's, um, a thing I made for you."
You held it out to him so he could see it, bracing yourself for his reaction.
Wally's eyes widened and his mouth parted with a small gasp. "An apple?"
"Yeah! It's made out of clay," you explained. You watched as he studied it before carefully taking it into his own hands. "You know, I figured since you like staring at your apples but they eventually all go bad... I'd make you one that never goes bad!"
Wally was quiet for a moment and his whole face brightened. "It's perfect!"
He walked over to the mantel and placed the ceramic there gently as you continued.
"Really?" Your smile twitched. "I know art is kind of your thing, I'm not as good at it but I just thought I'd do something for you since you do so much for me and-"
Wally smiled before pressing his mouth against the side of your face, effectively cutting off your rambling. You relaxed when he made a 'mwah!' sound as he leaned away.
"I love it," he reassured you, voice soft.
"Oh." You let out a sigh of relief. "Good."
"But why would you think you have to make something for me, silly?" Wally tilted his head.
You looked down, suddenly feeling sheepish. Wally gingerly took one of your hands with his, giving you an encouraging nod. In return, you gave him a warm smile.
"I don't want you to think I'm inadequate," you replied with a shrug. "Because you're so talented and nice to me and all these other things and you deserve the best!"
Wally chuckled. You couldn't help but smile more at the sound of it, slow and monotone. You loved his laugh.
"You are the best," he told you, rubbing your hand with his thumb. "You're the most, darling. Your love is more than enough."
You felt a bundle of emotions begin to take over you, all so overwhelmingly happy you could hardly even fathom it. Gratitude, comfort, and pure love rushed through you as you continued to stare adoringly into those beautiful eyes. You wanted to jump for joy, hold Wally close to you and never, ever let go, and see to it that you made every day of the rest of his life perfect and full of love. Maybe then he would be able to feel a fraction of the amount of adoration you had for him and understand just how much he meant to you.
Instead, you frowned playfully. "See what I mean?! You're too kind! It's not fair!"
Wally just laughed again.

Chapter 1: Welcome home.
-Wally Darling + Reader
Tumblr media
———
It was a day like any other.
Eat, sleep, work, rinse, repeat.
I’m not sure what happened between 17 and 18, but whatever it was sucked the life out of me. And as my Uber took me home on that late Friday night, the whole world flashed by my head like a shooting star. Sitting good and quiet. I noticed my fingernails overgrown, and how dry and cracked my skin was. Like one of those nightmares where your teeth fall out, except my disfigurement was very real.
But what to do? You don’t cure your funk in a night. I had to take a few nights, maybe call in sick. If I got fired for this it’d be a problem.
No. No, I had to stop thinking. It’s not my problem tonight, I reassured myself. So arriving home and settling in, I planned on completely disconnecting. And I engaged in…a guilty pleasure.
My body ached as I pulled out the VHS player, sending dust down my crusty airways. Along came my favorite tape.
The title’d long worn off, but it didn’t matter. It was the only one I kept.
And so I sunk beneath my comforter, biting back my anxiety and letting the fuzz lull in time with my breathing.
Unfortunately I didn’t make it through the intro credits. I never did nowadays.
“What’re we s’posed to do about this?!?!”
A squeaky quirky voice pinched my ears between fog and drowsiness, and I felt as a circular object tapped the tip of my nose.
“They aren’t wakin up, Franky!! I’m scared!”
A deep grunt contrasted her whining, “I…” he seemed at a loss for words; I then felt the thing bump me again. A loud wailing followed, which showered an…insane amount of tears onto my face. That was when I finally had the gall to snap my eyes open.
Screaming above me was a big-mouthed girl with big blonde hair, I saw her first. Her colorful clothing fading into the distance as she ran like the devil. And then the other…
Me and Frank blinked slowly at one another. Quietly. A dapper-dressed man with proportions stranger than the girl’s personality. A gray face full of concern and just a little disgust. Like he was looking at a dead body.
I didn’t move, but I eyed the world around me carefully. And for a second I was worried that I had a concussion; the grass, the sky… everything had an antique-like tint to it. And it felt wrong.
“Are you feeling okay?” Like he’d snapped back to reality the man crouched down beside me and dropped his net. I noticed a small bug sit inside it calmly…much unlike a butterfly. “Oh- yes, I’m okay. I’m just…” I scanned the area again, “I’m not sure how I got here.”
“Can you stand up?” He asked, and I pushed myself off the ground. “I’m going to walk you to the neighborhood… we’ll get you some help there.”
The neighborhood? Why did that sound so familiar? “The neighborhood… alright.”
He walked ahead of me, checking back every couple of seconds to make sure I was still behind him.
How did I get here…? More importantly, I had work. I had to get to a phone, as quickly as possible. “Your name’s Frank, right?”
He gasped softly, “how’d you know?”
“I heard it earlier. I’m guessing Franky isn’t your preferred name.”
“Right, right.”
“Do you have a phone I could borrow?”
“Heavens no, not right now. Those are far too big to carry around.” He replied, and then it was quiet again.
I noted him down as awkward, which was fine. I was a stranger, anyways. And I probably looked like death. Eventually though we came across houses, and he brought me straight to a big red barn.
Looking it up and down, I was skeptical. But out came whiffs of smells. Baking smells. The kind where you’re not sure if you’re smelling bread, fruit, or pure sugar. Seeing the bird that hussled out in front of us though I started to understand pretty quickly.
Before I had the chance to say anything she was all over me: lifting my arms, pinching my face, and squawking on in a shrill voice. How my face was so pale, my eyebags so big, my posture terrible. “Frank! Where did you find this one?? They look dead! The walking dead! Dead but walking!” Then she sat me down onto a haybale, holding my face in her wings. “Stop walking! You’re going to die!”
I couldn’t see over her big rainbow feathers but I could tell he was just as overwhelmed by this lady as I was. “Excuse me ma’am…” I croaked, “can I…”
She craned her head towards me as I asked, “can I borrow your phone…?”
The chicken loomed over me in a dead silence before I found myself dragged inside and nearly force-fed a multitude of different pastries, which I then tried to pay for. Unsurprisingly this earned another shriek. “What kind of money is this??? Where did you come from??”
“My house! I came from my house!” Like a hostage I lifted my hands up in surrender, and I’d expected another argument from her. But…no. Something clicked behind her eyes, and without speaking she disappeared and returned with a plate.
A plate of apple crisp.
I knew it as soon as I smelled it, feeling my eyes widen as the aroma hit my nose. Like a faint memory, nostalgia panged through my chest and reverberated like a brand new heartbeat as I took that first bite. Marveling in sweet fruit nestled under a warm blanket of thick brown sugar.
Once it was over with I was going to ask- except she’d already disappeared to her phone. A landline. Busy feathered fingers nervously fiddling with the curly wire, I caught bits and pieces of her loud voice. Concerned, suddenly frantic! Then quiet. I leaned in over the table to hear more but then was met with a shriek. “My goodness! Your clothes are getting in your pie!”
Indeed, looking down I realized I’d leaned so far over the table that I’d begun to crush the pastry. Leaving a dark stain on my T-shirt. The bird rushed around and started trying to wrestle it off of me— “No, hey!!” We struggled with the article, she shouted “I need to wash it! Come now!”
“What on earth is going on!?” Gray hands forced us apart and Frank pushed the bird lady for an answer while I caught my breath and smoothed my clothing.
“Look at them! They got their shirt all dirty, I was only trying to wash it.” She huffed, to which Frank pinched his brow with concern. “Polly… that’s beyond impolite!”
“It’s just Y/N!”
The man double-taked for a moment, slowly turning to me then raising a hand skeptically. “No, no… that can’t be right. They’re a lot smaller than that.”
“That’s what I thought!” Polly said, “but look at that face! And you know they loved my apple crisp! It has to be!”
I stood frazzled in front of them as they marveled, “did you just say… my name?”
Slowly stepping forward, Frank reached out as the bird suddenly rushed me. She hovered over me and ripped off my shirt with such momentum to tear the neckline. My arms rushed to cover my body in shock while the grey man swiveled to face the other direction. He shouted, “well they’re far too old for that!”
“Po.. Polly!” But she didn’t seem to hear me, sauntering off to a wash bucket and beginning to soak it. She waved a feather, “now then, go play! I’ll take care of this.”
I felt heat rise to my face, in disbelief at this woman. First she feeds me, then tears my clothes off?? “I’m so confused! And half-naked!” Crying out, even Frank seemed at a loss. He didn’t look and made his way to the door, “I’ll- I’ll find you something to wear! Stay right there!”
So there I was, half-naked in a barn-themed bakery waiting for either Frank to come back or Polly to be done with my shirt. I’d given in at that point. Notably despite Polly being a bird, she was really sentient. I saw other chickens but she was different. At least Frank resembled a man… but she was a straight up chicken.
Then a slow, steady knock came. The barn grew quiet, and it’s large doors creaked open. Standing in the center a silhouette of someone. His voice broke the silence, soft and calm if not monotonous.
“Aw Gee… it has been a very long time, Y/N.”

Hi! Hope you enjoyed the first installment. This is mostly a comfort character series, so things between Wally and reader won’t get very romantic. Still! I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing it. Feel free to ask me questions or give me ideas, since this is in progress!
Bye now! You are the absolute most!

Lost and Found
A Welcome Home Fanfic series!! Part 2
Warning : profanities, scopophobia (kinda?)
Tumblr media
I open my eyes and see a bright blue sky and some trees around me. ❛ wait… Blue sky? But wasn’t I inside–. ❜ my thoughts were cut off by my head suddenly hurting and my ears ringing. I wince in pain and grasp my head, I sit up and massage my temples to try and lessen the pain, which thankfully worked. Once the pain was fully gone, I stand up and look around only to see that everything looked fluffy and weirdly colourful. Colourful trees and bushes? The flowers even look weird even if they seem to be in their normal colours. I walk around for a while to try to find out where I am, I then suddenly see colourful butterflies? I tried looking closer at it but it quickly flew away. I run to follow the butterflies, because it might lead me somewhere like those disney movies, but instead bump onto something. I let out a small ‘ow’ and looked at what I bumped into and saw a tall grey ‘person’ beside a pink ‘person’, both holding a net. Before I can even open my mouth to speak, ❝ Hello there! You don’t look familiar… are you new here in the neighbourhood? ❞ I look at the pink 'person’ who just spoke, and only at that moment I noticed I was in some puppety world. ❝ Oh fuck. ❞ The two looked like they were scanning me, in which they probably are, then looked at me with worry painted across their faces. I look at them in confusion, ❝ Is there something wrong? ❞ I asked them in which the pink one answered with, ❝ You’re hurt! We should get you patched up. ❞ The grey one just nodded and the next thing I know, the pink one is already pulling me somewhere. We then reached a colourful village, it had houses around and a house with eyes… in the middle. ❝ Does that house have eyes? ❞ I ask while still walking to wherever they’re taking me, stranger danger forgotten i guess. The pink one nodded and answered ❝ Mhm, that’s home! Hi home! ❞ while she waves at the house and for some reason the house’s blinds opened and closed as if it’s waving back, or probably just blinking. ❛ Wait… If the house is alive, if someone lives inside it… is it eating the person? ❜ Thankfully before I can even think of more shit, we finally reached our destination and it looks like a grocery store, but more joyful? ❝ Oh! Hello Julie, Frank! ❞ A voice said as we entered the store. I looked around to search who spoke until I saw a large dude in front of me. I look up and see a green dude that has antennas and has two pairs of arms and legs. ❝ Who’s this new one you got here? ❞
❝ Hi Howdy! Her name is! uh… ❞ Frank looks at Julie and lets out a sigh. ❝ What’s your name? ❞
I look up to Frank and point at myself while mouthing out a “me?”. He takes another sigh while Julie nods energetically. ❝ I’m Y/N. ❞ The three of them smile at me. The dude named Howdy then spoke, ❝ Well hello there Y/N! Welcome Home! You seem to be in uh… ❞ before even trying to finish what he’s saying he grabs cloths, needles and threads. ❝ Let’s just get you patched up… ❞ the three nodded and Howdy placed me on the countertop before getting the needle and thread ready. I shake my head nervously, ❝ No no no, I don’t need stitches, my wounds usually heal over time… ❞ ❝ But you have a large rip over here… ❞ Julie says as she points to a part of my leg that had a not that large rip. I shrug my shoulders and tell them that it’s fine but they don’t seem to be agreeing with me. ❝ I promise it’ll be fine, well as long as I don’t scratch it…❞ I mutter out the last part, hoping that they didn’t hear it. They finally agreed but still told me to wash myself up, so I did. Once I got out of the shower, that was large but I promise I’m not short. Julie handed me some of her clothes. ❝ Oh you look nice wearing it! ❞ she squeals, After she finishes fixing my hair, even though I could do it myself, she then goes to Howdy and tells him something before waving at me and leaving with Frank. Howdy then walks up to me to speak but I beat him to it. ❝ Did she sell me to you? ❞ He looks at me with a concerned look before shaking his head no. ❝ She just told me she and Frank had to help Wally with something. Anyways… ❞ he walks towards the store’s ‘close open’ sign and turned it to close. ❝ Do you mind if I ask what are you? Because you don’t seem to be one of us. I’m sorry if that sounds offensive. ❞ I shake my head no before speaking. ❝ Well, I’m a human. Got other questions? ❞ ❝ How’d you meet Frank and Julie? And why did you seem so panicked with the needles? ❞ ❝ Woah woah there man, one question at a time! ❞ I say while chuckling, ❝ To answer the question one, I met both of them in the forest looking place. I bumped into Mr. Frowny and Ms. Happy brought me here. ❞ He covers his mouth with one of his hands before questioning me why the nicknames and I answered him with a yes. ❝ Anyways! On question two, I just don’t need stitches. Look, some of my scratches are kinda healed. Plus I can just put a bandaid on them when I get home! ❞ I said while smiling. Howdy nodded then shot another question at me. ❝ Oh! Right, where are you from?❞

Yours Truly.
Part 1 / ?
Wally x G!N reader
You recently moved to a different neighborhood it was beautiful and had bright colors.
You were going outside to check your mailbox, you lived not too far from someone named “Wally darling.” “Oh!..good morning, neighbor.” he gave you a soft smile, it was early of the day. “Good morning, Wally!” You brightly smiled back. “Neighbor, Do you need any help with your belongings moving in?” he asked sweetly, soft tone to his voice, he slightly tilts his head. He seemed friendly yet … has a strange sense of aura to him, it’s almost like there’s something about him you’re not sure of. Maybe you’re just paranoid. “I’d actually like that” You spoke softly, still tired but you still managed to smile at him softly. “Right this way then!” he chirps as he’d take one of your luggage. “I must be say neighbor , it is so nice to have you here!” he grinned. “You’ll fit in here perfectly! If you need anything just let me know, I can help out anytime!” he said excitedly and such a reassuring way. It sounded so genuine. “Well, Hello wally it’s so amazing to meet you, you’re my next door neighbor if I’m correct?” You asked him raising a brow.
“That is correct!” he smiles nodding his head. “and if you ever need anything, I’m right nearby so please, do not feel like you can’t ask because I’m always here to help” he would smile sweetly, it felt so odd to you. “Can i show you where I live?” He asks. “Mhm.” You nod your head. He show you to where he lives, it was near some of the shops of the town, and it looked cozy from the outside, it was so colorful yet so warm. You look a bit in the town and saw people you were going to ask Wally about them. You walk back to your home. “That’s good to know! I’m baking later it would be a great time to get to know each other better!” You clasped your hands together. He seem kind of shocked you said it but his pupil got bigger and he smiled a bit wider, he turned slightly pink shade of pink, he looked so happy and excited you offered that. “Ah! I’d love to talk with you neighbor! That’d be nice to get to know you!” he smiles brightly tilting his head a bit. “Perhaps if you ever need help with a recipe I could help with that too!” he chuckles. “When we’re walking to your home who were the people there in the neighborhood” you asked him. “Those are my neighbors, you could talk to them later if you like!” He says. “I’ll talk to them later, at the moment I want to finish moving.” You picked up a box.
“Do you want to continue helping me or are you going to stand there?” You tease him slightly. “Ah, My bad. Of course neighbor.” He opens the door for you before picking up some boxes. “So neighbor, what’s your name?” He questions. “Oh dear! How rude of me. My name is y/n l/n, Thank you for asking” you apologized. “It’s fine. A beautiful name like yours fits you!” He chuckles.
Most of the day it was wally helping you unpack and helping you with your stuff. You started making plans for today or what you could do for the week.
1. Sort out of the boxes
2. Meet the neighbors
3. Bake with Wally
As the week go by you could add more stuff. Wally brought in the final box. “Thank you so much Wally!” You chirp. “I hope we can talk later so we can become better friend” you clasped your hands. “It’s been a pleasure talking to you, Neighbor. I believe we shall be friends in the future, I can always use one more!" he softly smiles, his eyeslids lowered. “Neighbor, If you ever need me, please do not hesitate to come and get me, I will most likely be at home drawing / painting or taking a walk around the neighborhood or doing chores of course!" he says brightly. "But yes! I do hope we can become close friends, even best friends. I’d truly enjoy that." He says fixing the “Rose Madder” scarf with a bow knot he had around his neck. You looked up at the sky and realize it was getting dark, you had spent the whole day talking to Wally while he helped you out with moving your stuff. “Well, it’s quite late isn’t it? I’ll see you tomorrow, Wally!” You said cheerfully. “Oh yes, it is getting quite late. Good night neighbor I shall see you more.” He says in a soft voice as he tilts his head and his lowers his eyelids.
You enter your house, covered in boxes. “I’ll just unpack tomorrow.” You thought to yourself. You go to where you wanted your room to be. There was a naked mattress on the floor. You were too tired to put the blankets nor pillows. You get on in and put your hands under your head. The whole night you kept flipping back and forth, not able to get comfortable. It was as if someone was watching you. “Eh.. I’m just paranoid probably” you shrugged. “Damn this damn mattress is so uncomfortable with out blankets.” You thought to yourself.
Well tomorrow was going to be a different day.

You haven't been the same these past few weeks. You stopped hanging around your friends. Stopped accepting their invites to go out a play.
Julie asked if you wanted to come over and play business woman and play the role of her assistant like you always did....You declined.
Frank asked if you wanted to go and look at some butterflies with him at the park because they were your favorite bugs. You told him another time.
Eddie asked if you wanted to help him deliver some mail because you always enjoyed walking around in your little mailman uniform. You said you were too busy.
Wally...Wally darling had invited you to come over to his house so you could do your casual afternoon finger painting. You had always loved painting with wally. And sharing your silly little artworks after they dried. You enjoyed it so very much. Sitting on the ground, painting in silence and exchanging glances.
It was nice.
"Oh...I'm really sorry wally but- I think I might just stay home today. Maybe we can paint next week. I'll...talk to you later. Goodbye." You hung up the phone before wally could even respond. It was at that moment he knew something was wrong. You sounded very weak and tired. Almost as if you'd been crying before he called you. He took notice that you barely even stepped out of your house anymore. And if you did it was only for a little bit so you could get some fresh air. And you always wore a long sleeved sweater while outside. Which strange to the curious fellow. It was warm out so what was the need to wear a sweater?
Wally put down his phone and walked over to the window staring outside. Straight to your house. He caught you at the right moment. There you were. Wearing that same sweater as you stepped out the door and let out a small stretch and yawn. That was when wally caught a glimpse of your exposed wrist. It looked like some repeatedly scratched at your skin till it was red and bleeding. Something was most definitely wrong.
"Hmm...I think (y/n) is hiding something...don't you think home?" Wally asked, his chin resting at the palm of his hand as he continued to stare at you getting some fresh air before quickly walking back inside your house again. Home creaked in response. "It seems she doesn't us to know about something...I'll go over and ask." Wally mumbled to himself as he stepped outside and headed over.
Just as he was making his way to your house Julie spotted her neighbor and skipped over towards him. "Hey wally! Are you heading over to (y/n)'s house?" She asked in a curious tone. "Yes I am Julie. I would like to ask why (y/n) hasn't come out to play with us these past few days." Julie reached down and grabbed the others hands. "Will you please let (y/n) know that we all miss playing with them? I've been playing business women with frank but he just makes it boring!" Julie cried. "Hey! I heard that julie!" Frank shouted as he stomped over to the 2 other neighbors. "If you didn't start destroying things everytime we set up our office maybe I'd be more into it." Frank scolded before letting out a sigh. "Wally I assume you're heading to (y/n)'s house?" Frank asked. Wally hummed and nodded. "Kindly let us know if there's anything we can do for them. I've been getting awfully worried lately." Wally nodded again, growing eager to get to your house already. "I'll let them know you're all wo-"
"HEY GUYS! ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT (Y/N)?"
Eddie called out a couple feet away as he waved his arms in the air. "Eddie! Keep it down! We don't want (y/n) to know!" Frank huffed placing his hands on his hips. Eddie let out a small chuckle. "Whoops, sorry bout that. Oh! Wally you're heading over to (y/n)'s house now right?" Eddie asked. "Yes I am." Wally simply responded. Eddie stuffed his hand into his bag and pulled out a stack of mail handing it over to the smaller puppet. "Could ya give these to (y/n)? Last time I tried handing them their mail they didn't answer the door so I just kept them for safety." Wally nodded and grabbed the mail. It was quite a thick stack too.
"OH- and also could you-" "OK THAT'S ENOUGH! We're keeping wally here far too long now he's probably waiting for us to stop yapping! Go on and go over to (y/n)'s house already Wally and, let us know how it goes." Frank quickly spoke before h dragged Julie and Eddie by their hands before they could open their mouths once more.
Wally softly chuckled to himself before have continued to make his way towards your house. He softly knocked on the door 3 times and waited for you to answer. "Hello? (Y/n) it's me wally. Are you home?" He asked in his soft voice. Just before he thought you wouldn't answer the sound of the door know jiggle caught his attention. You slowly opened the door looking up at the dopey eyed puppet. "Oh, uh...hi wally. Is there...something you needed?" You asked only peeking your head out. "Eddie wanted me to give you these." Wally handed you the mail. Your eyes slightly widened at the amount there was. You kept yourself from pouting. "Oh geez. Thank you for giving these to me wally." You spoke in that unusual weak tone. "You're very welcome neighbor."
The 2 of you stood in silence before wally spoke up again. "May I come inside?" He asked in his usual soft polite voice. You didn't want any company at the moment but you couldn't say no to his face after telling you didn't want to hang out over the phone. You nodded and opened the door some more allowing your friend to walk inside.
Wally hummed as a thank you as he stepped inside. His eyes scanned the entirety of the house. There was tons of crumbled paper laying on the floor. All the lights where off too. That was something you'd usually never do. "Boy...it's pretty dark in here. I can hardly see you." Wally mentioned staring at your dim colored figure. Before you could respond wally reached over and flipped the light switch on. Your pupils dialed at the sudden brightness as you rushed to cover your eyes, blocking out the light. "There thats much better. Now I can see you more." Wally hummed turning to stare at you.
"Uh...yeah...was there anything you needed?" You asked not moving your hands away from your face. Wally nodded and stepped forward. "Yes there is. I came over here to ask you a question." You slowly removed your hands from your face, looking up at your neighbor with tired eyes. "What's the question?" You asked nervously.
Wally stepped more closer, staring deep into your eyes. "Well you see. The others and I have been very worried about you (y/n)-" he started. "We haven't been able to play with you like we used to. So I wanted to ask if you're doing okay." Waves a guilt flooded your mind. You didn't mean to cause your friends to worry about you so much. "Is there something wrong?" Wally asked waiting for you to respond.  You swallowed the lump that formed in your throat. "Y-yeah! Everything is fine! I've just been really really tired!" You spoke in your best enthusiastic voice you could. Wally stared...he didn't seem to believe you.
"Are you sure?" He asked. You nodded your head. "Absolutely positively sure!" You sung faking a smile.
.
.
.
.
.
.
"You're lying."
Your entire body tensed up. Your breath caught in your chest. Your mouth hanging open. You couldn't find the right words to speak. Your hands lay limp at your sides.
"Wh-what do you m-"
"I can tell when somethings wrong (y/n). It's as plain as those cuts on your wrists." Wally spoke, his eyes traveling down to your clothed arms. You let out a shaky breath watching as he reached out and softly grabbed hold of your arm, slowly pulling the sleeve up. You couldn't read the look on his face. His usual smile didn't leave his lips.
You just watched as he stared at your skin. Scars old and new covered up and down your arms. Thin and and think. Deep and light. Different shades of red painted across your pale colored skin. Your arm thin and frail. You winced as wally lightly grazed his fingers over your cuts. "What are these?" He asked. You refused to respond. "Is this what you've been doing these past few days while staying locked up in your house?" He asked another question. Again, you refused to answer. "Hmm...this isn't good at all. Not. At. All." You panicked feeling his grip on your arm behind to tighten for a moment.
Wally let out a sigh and loosened his grip. He looked back at you. Same expression painted on his face. "Will you let me help clean you up?" He asked with a hint of worry in his tone. You stayed silent but nodded your head. Wally let go of your arm and held your hand, intertwining your fingers as he walked you over to your bedroom. "I'm assuming gou have a first aid kit somewhere right?" He asked sitting you down on your bed. "Yes. In my nightstand in the 3rd drawer." You pointed beside the bed.
After grabbing the kit and taking out the materials wally looked up at your face as he kneeled down infront of you. "...what?" You asked. "May you take off your sweater so it can be easier to clean up your arms?" He politely asked pulling at the hem of your sweater. You let out a slightly annoyed whine but did as he asked. "Very good. Thank you (y/n)." He hummed.
You stayed silent watching as wally grabbed a cottonball and lightly dosed it in cleaning solution. "Would you mind telling me...what made you do this to yourself?" He asked as he lightly pressed the damp ball against the first cut watching your flinch from the stinging sensation. You stayed quiet for a minute before you decided to talk.
"I'm...I'm an awful friend" you whispered in a shakey voice. Wally stay silent letting you continue while he concentrated on cleaning up your cuts. "I ruin everything. I can't do anything right to help my friends." You sobbed. " 2 weeks ago I was playing office with julie and I ended up knocking over desk and breaking her favorite lamp that was on top of it. And when I was with frank watching some butterflies, he found one he had never seen before and was so excited about it. But I accidently scared it away. And when I helped Eddie with the mail I stupidly mixed up everyone's mail together. Eddie had to work extra hard that day because of me!" You let the tears spill from your eyes like waterfalls while you choked on your words. "And when we painted together I spilt an entire bucket of paint all over your picture ruining it! I'm so stupid! I keep messing everything up- I can't do anything right for my friends!"
Wally continued to stay silent while focusing on your arms. After he finished cleaning up all the dry and fresh blood he started placing band-aids on every single cut. "I didn't mean to make everyone worry about me. I just thought that after that you guys wouldn't wanna see me anymore. Why would YOU even want to hang out with me. I just make things worse. Staying home was the only thing I could do." You spoke between sobs. Tasting your salty tears that slid down your read flushed cheeks.
After wally was done blanketing your arms in band-aids he held your hands in his. His thumbs softly circling the top of your hands for comfort. "Do you know why we like to play with you (y/n)?" He asked staring into your eyes, watching you shake your head. "It's because we like to play with you. No one is mad at you for your small mistakes hun. Nobody's perfect after all."
"But...you are" you mumbled.
Wally tilted his head to the side. His eyes not leaving yours. "Why can't I be more like you? Calm, good at drawing...I'm nothing like you." You softly complained. "And that's a good thing" wally sung as he continued to massage your hands with his thumbs. "It wouldn't be twice as fun if you were like me. I like you as you (y/n). And so does everyone else." He spoke softly grabbing your hands and lifting them up having you lightly cup his cheeks in the palms of your hands. "You're such a funny person. Julie, frank, eddie and the other enjoy playing with you. I like playing with you too... you're so much fun to be around~." wally hummed pressing soft kisses against your wrist. Your heart started to race.
"You're really fun to be around. And it makes me so sad knowing you felt that way. I'm your best friend after all. I should have known you were so upset" wally softly spoke, nuzzling his face against your hand. "I'm really sorry you've been so upset (y/n). Could you ever forgive me?" He asked. His voice almost cracking. You stared at wally as tears continued to well up in the corners of your eyes. "Oh wally...please don't apologize. It's not your fault at all. I'm sorry I never said anything sooner. I was just...too scared to say anything." You mumbled, stroking the pad of your thumb against his cheek.
Wally closed his eyes, going limp in your touch. "Will you promise me the next time you're feeling sad you'll come talk to me about it?" You softly smiled and nodded your head. "I cross my heart and promise I will." You leaned over wrapping your arms around his neck bringing him in for a hug. Wally buried his face in the crook of his neck.
"Thank you for being such a good friend Wally."
"Anything for you (y/n) after all... What are friends for?"
THE END.

I just needed to get this out but reader cuddling with wally from the alive au cause everyone else is busy but him and reader just needs some cuddles
Ah yes, I can honestly imagine that. Sometimes Wally feels like the only person that really understands the reader. He isn't as clueless on feelings or how things work in this world like the others. If anything he probably craves physical touch after having come to life.
(This takes place in the Alive AU)
___________________________________________________________
It was a rainy afternoon by the time Wally finished another painting, something you had helped him with by getting the supplies he needed, you truly are a kind host.
Perhaps, it was time that he gave you something in return for your kindness. His friends were also keen on this as well, though they all had different ideas of what to give you. Wally was sure of what he wanted as a gift however, it would take quite some time to make.
Wally stood from his stool to go wash his hands off in the bathroom. He stood there, letting the feeling of cool water glide over his cartoonish skin. It still felt odd to him really.
He has always been a puppet for as long as he could remember. Wally Darling, the star puppet of a now forgotten kids show. He was so so lonely before, watching the years go by and collecting dust on an empty shelf in that antique store. Wally wasn't that lonely puppet anymore though, he was something entirely new. His friends, previously existing as only fictional characters, weren't so fictional once you picked both him and the "dead" puppet characters up. It's like you had a magic in you to bring life into them. What a wonderful person you were.
"Hey Mr.Darling..." You poked your head into the bathroom to greet him. Wally only sighed, you didn't need to be so formal all the time.
"Please dear, you may call me Wally, we've known each other for a while now." A smile crept onto his face. "But...if you're so insistent on calling me that, I might as well call you Darling as well. You are a sweet little darling to me after all.~"
A towel was thrown into his face that Wally caught with ease, looking back to you to see a reddened face. He loved it when you were flustered.
"Wally! We're not even married!" You knew he wasn't as innocent as the others so you really had no issue with scolding him on that. "I...I was going to ask if you wanted anything special for brunch." You kept trying to fan your cheeks, a habit he took notice of when you got flustered.
"Hmm...Let's see." He hummed in thought "Would French Toast be alright?" Goodness, he'd love that right now. The way you added cinnamon-dipped apple slices to it always made him yearn for more.
"Alright, I'll get started on that now since it'll take a while." You gave him a soft smile before turning to head to the kitchen. Wally left to sit in the living room while he waited, deciding to read the newspaper with one leg crossed over the other. A thought popped up in his mind. When did you start smiling like that? It was more...loving, not like your usual smiles. Maybe he was just imagining things. He felt warmth creeping onto his cheeks, a new feeling he was not used to.
Wally made an audible sigh as he leaned further into the couch not taking notice of his grip tightening.
Some time passed by as he read, foot tapping against the floor to the rhythm of the radio in the background.
"Alrighty! Brunch is ready, but you should probably wait a bit, it's pretty hot right now." You set the food on the coffee table in front of the couch plopping down next to Wally leaving him startled. That was rare. You didn't mind Wally eating here sometimes since you knew he never makes a mess. Also because the dinner table was currently littered with Julie's and Eddie's arts and crafts.
"Ah, thank you darling..." He mumbled, taking notice of the now torn paper from having gripped it too tightly. You gave him a concerned look.
"Wally, are you okay?"
Leaning against you on the plush pillows he wrapped an arm over your shoulders, trapping you against his side. "I am now." His face was so close to yours...unlike last time though, you leaned into his body and softly took his head in your hands, guiding him to lay down in your lap face up.
You bent down to grab the food off the table, handing it to Wally for him to eat. He wouldn't grab the plate, keeping his arm around you, face nuzzled into your torso instead. "Would you be a dear and cut it for me please?" The smug grin that you were so used to seeing finally revealed itself. You were feeling a little playful today though, so you indulged him.
"Alright Mr.Pompadour, open wide." You teased, digging the fork into a cinnamon apple slice, holding it up to his mouth.
He stared at it for a second with a blush dusting his cheeks before slowly taking a bite, enjoying the delicious sensations on his tongue, a recent ability he gained now no longer needing to stare at food to eat it. Piece by piece you slowly fed him brunch, allowing Wally to lay in your lap the whole time.
You set the plate aside once he was finished. Wally still had those dreamy eyes and dusted red cheeks as he stared straight up at you.
"You know, you truly are the most."
On second thought, trying to write fanfiction while lacking enough sleep might not have been a good idea. There are so many spelling mistakes I had to fix in this and I'm not sure if I got them all. On the bright side I'm really getting the hang of writing more now.

Imagine:
Imagine having your head laid gently on Wally's thigh, your arms wrapped loosely around his leg as he gentle strokes your hair. His fingers smoothing out any stray pieces, his half lidded eyes staring down at you lovingly. You were so perfect in his eyes. Your eyes staring back at him with almost as much love as his, but the love that swirled in his eyes was much more intense. As he gently removed his hand from your hair moving it to your cheek cupping your face in his small hand, tilting it upwards as he leaned down.
Your eyes closed as you expected a kiss only to hear Wally's odd laughter. Opening your eyes you see Wally smiling, a soft red dusting his cheeks. "My my neighbor, you seem eager for a kiss." his voice rang through your ears. A small pout formed on your lips only for it to swiftly be kissed away. Your eyes closed, a cheeky smile making it on your face as you pressed against his lips. Wally pulled back pressing more kisses against your face. Your nose, cheeks, and forehead all were subject to attack with Wally's kisses. And as your laughed your heart out, leaning closer to him to give him better access to your face, Wally's eyes sparkled.
You truly were the most perfect being in his eyes..

Okay hear me out on this, Wally with a romantic partner who is colour blind. Like they could see colour when they were younger so they know what colours are but once they grew older everything faded into greys, whites, and blacks.
Bonus points if the only colours they see are on/around (like the things CLOSE to Wally are dull while Wally, himself, is his usual vibrant colours but everything not close to him is grayscale if that makes sense) him and they (the reader) say something cheesy like 'you bring colour into my life' or 'you brighten my gray world' and call him their favourite colour
Wally x Reader Oneshot You Shine Like No Other
OH, MY STARS!!! I LOVE THIS IDEA!!! I already love colors and to see it being used in a request is honestly so thrilling!!! This is going to be very fun to write. Thank you for the request!!
I also won't be posting for the main story, Wally x Reader - An Unforeseen Friendship tonight or tomorrow, I'll be busy all day, and maybe even the day after that.

The world was dull, it was so very greyscaled, and everything around you everywhere was the same color, just in different shades. It wasn't always like this, however. When you were a young child, the world was so bright and colorful, you could see all the colors of the rainbow and even beyond that. It was something that you took for granted.
When you turned 12, you noticed that the colors you saw every day, seemed dimmer, duller even, but you thought nothing of it. Blaming it on pollution. Shaking your head at humanity, you went on your way, but the older you got, the worst it became. At the age of 16, you finally told your parents, letting them know that something was wrong with your eyes. They agreed to take you to see the eye doctor, only to find out that your cone cells have gone weak, and that it was more common than what people thought it is.
You still felt singled out, for nobody in your school or even in your city that you knew of even had this issue. The doctors said that the ability to see color could return or just continue to fade until you either went blind or just went pure colored blind to a new level. Luckily, it was just colored blind to a new level, but it was still almost like being blind. You couldn't tell which color was which anymore by the time you turned 18, the world was purely grey, black, and white.
You slowly began forgetting which color was which, you slowly forgot what they even looked like. You forgot that colors came in shades, you forgot that the clouds really were white. You forgot you didn't want to, but you were. What's so killing and so ironic about it, was that you wanted to be an artist. But with this condition, you wouldn't be able to do that now. You could do other things, like bake, cook, build, and teach. But You didn't want to do any of those things, but reality set in, that this was your new world.
At the age of 25, you finally moved out, finding a cheap little home in a place strangely called Home. The drive was long, but it was worth it. You got out of your car, looking at the tiny yet cozy neighborhood. It didn't take you long to unpack and set your home up. It also didn't take long for the friendly residents to flock around you, eager to introduce themselves. You talked with them all, happy to be in such a lovely little community. They were all grey, all different shades of grey, black, and white. But something caught your attention.
Green, blue, orange, purple, yellow, red, pink. You could see those colors, but they were very faint. You blinked, thinking your mind was playing tricks on you, but... it was there. You wanted to cry... was your vision coming back to normal? No, if it was, wouldn't everything look like that? It's just hovering in one spot. Your eyes followed the rays of color, and there you saw him. In the back of the crowd, standing far yet close, he was in the gap between Julie and Eddie.
Around him, all the colors were faded, but he himself was so bright, he was so vibrant. You wanted to get closer to him. So you did, you walked through the crowd, your eyes trained on the colorful young man. Everyone watched as you approached Wally. "Hi... I'm (Y/N)." You introduced yourself to the ray of light. He smiled at you. "Nice to meet you, (Y/N), I'm Wally." He said, holding his hand out for you to shake. And you did.
After that, you clung to Wally like a moth to a light. You were always around him, you were addicted to him, and he quickly became like a drug you never wanted to give up. You always wanted to be around him, and Wally always invited you to do so. He enjoyed your company, and he liked that you treated him like he was your lifeline. He felt important. Your friendship with Wally lasted for a good few years before he decided to pop the big question. "(Y/N)?" He asked one day.
Even Wally's home was unique, it was sentient, and he could communicate and speak, but only in sounds, which was cute but also a challenge. But you learned what the different pitches in the door slams and creaks began to represent. The louder, the happier he was, the quieter the sadder, or more concerned he was, and the more aggressive and fluctuated the angrier he was.
You were both in Wally's home, sitting at his table eating breakfast. You looked up from your meal. "Yeah, Wally? You responded. He was looking out the window, lost in a trance. "Do you wanna be my lover?" He asked you as he looked at you. You gapped at him like a fish, before you eagerly said. "YES PLEASE!!- I mean.... I would love to, Wally." You said, slightly embarrassed. He chuckled at you. "Ha, ha, ha... That's good... I'm glad." He said, truly grateful.
Your relationship was brought to the whole neighborhood's attention, and they all celebrated your newfound love. You loved this neighborhood. It didn't take long for Wally to have you move into his home. With the boy's help, all of your things were moved into Wally's home. Your relationship blossomed, and the color around Wally brightened as well, blossoming around him. You began calling him 'Rainbow'. He was the color in your dull world.
Sometimes you'd tell him sweet things, such as: "You bring color into this dull world" or "You bring a new meaning to the word 'rainbow', rainbow." He'd always smile at your sweet words, they always made him so happy. You loved being around Wally, he was the bright tunnel in your greyscaled world, and you couldn't have asked for a better blessing.
