I needed to draw this as Kyoko lmao

saw your yuki/kyo dissection and i was curious to know what's the other ship you think was an obvious possible option?
... after consulting @cafedanslanuit , Imma say it. For the plot. And Imma write my essay explaining my case. But y'all... don't get mad at me for being right. Strap in, this is gonna be a long one lmao.
But before I actually say it, we need to talk about Akito and Tohru and how they parallel one another.
Tumblr media
Because these two are the same character at the opposite ends of the spectrum and 2/3 of the key aspects of Fruits Basket that make the show work. Without them, there's no Fruits Basket.
Both of them are quite literally the same character.
Masculine naming convention? Check.
Abandonment issues? Check.
A favored parent and a parent they have negative feelings towards? Check.
Especially since their respective relationships with their parents led to those abandonment issues and how they interact with the world. Akira was to Akito what Kyoko was Tohru. Ren's unnatural hatred of Akito, viewing her as a threat for Akira's attention, Akira's death and Kureno's curse suddenly breaking for no rhyme or reason led to Akito becoming the person she became.
Katsuya's death caused Kyoko to fall into a depression so deep she neglected Tohru for an indeterminable amount of time. Very nearly left Tohru to herself before coming her senses and becoming the best mom in the world that we the audience know her as. But that period of Tohru's life was very forming for who she became.
Kyoko came back after coming to her senses, we know this. But to Tohru, her mother suddenly embracing her for the first time in likely weeks, was the result of Tohru mimicking her dad's speech. A formal way of speaking that became so engrained into her daily habits, it's completely inseparable from her now.
Akito and Tohru's respective experiences ultimately lead them to the same core aspect of their character: Loneliness.
Both of them are terribly afraid of being alone, they just keep people in their lives in very different way.
Akito relied on fear, Tohru used kindness.
Akito used violence, Tohru used compassion.
Akito's go-to was embracing her father's words that she was a special child born to be loved. As such, she could do anything she wanted to the other members of the zodiac without facing any repercussions.
Tohru's go-to was her belief that her not prioritizing her mother over rest is inherently connected to her mother's death. That she should have prioritized her mother over everything. That her mother had to be her number one even in death. Thus, she became afraid of loving anything or anyone more than her mother. And yet, she still didn't want to lose anyone else in her life.
Tohru's kindness is genuine but there is a benefit she gains from it similarly yet juxtaposed to Akito's abuse.
That's why the two of them are able to come to an understanding with one another by the end of the story. Why Tohru was able to set everything else aside to start from zero because she understands that fear of being alone all too well.
They are both a mirror into what the other person could have been like if their circumstances were different. Tohru could have been that bitter, hate-filled woman, while Akito could have just as easily been the sweetest woman in the world.
Akito is Tohru
and Tohru is Akito.
All this buildup is to say that...
I think the only other obvious choice for Tohru was Shigure.
Tumblr media
Yes, Shigure.
Y'all heard me right.
The final piece to what makes Furuba work, the one who instigated the plot in the first place.
And I'm sorry if y'all get mad at me for saying that, but I really don't think this is an incorrect assessment. I'll die on the hill that it was an obvious what if.
There's superficial things one can have fun mentioning in regards to these two ー
Across all adaptations of Furuba, Shigure is the first Sohma we are introduced to
Shigure's cursed year is the Dog, Tohru's birth year is the Dog
But the biggest thing for me is in how Tohru is an intrinsic part of something Shigure lacks as a person, that being empathy.
To make myself clear, I'm not saying Shigure is completely void of empathy. Because we can see him expressing it to the people he cares for in the story. (Ex. Wanting to go on a vacation during Golden Week so Hatori can avoid his ex's wedding.)
But for Shigure, empathy isn't something that comes easy for him. As he words it, his kindness isn't as good as the real thing someone like Hatori has. Shigure considers his kindness a hastily manufactured afterthought.
He's someone perfectly content using someone if he gets something out of it. And if he sees someone hesitating to reach for something they want, he'd rather just provoke them into action than attempt to warmly encourage them or understand where they're coming from. Because he doesn't see a point in hesitating at all and frankly, he knows comforting people like that doesn't come easy to him. So he normally opts not to.
Tumblr media
As such, he's fascinated by the levels of empathy and kindness Tohru has. Tohru's kindness sometimes even makes him feel guilty and Shigure isn't someone who often feels guilt in the first place.
Contrast to him, Tohru is so pure that Shigure can't help acknowledging how twisted he is. In season 1/the manga's first arc, he even tells Hatori that because of that forced realization he gets every time he looks at her he thinks Tohru is too pure for him.
Tumblr media
Compare to that to our final arc of the manga/season ー where it all eventually escalates to Shigure's quiet contemplationthat maybe he should have dreamed of Tohru.
That it's most likely that Akito wasn't the right one to dream of.
That someone as twisted as him needs someone like Tohru to balance it. To be that beacon that can lead him into being a 'normal' person.
He genuinely thinks about it in that moment as he playfully tells Tohru 「もしもの、お話し」 which is more accurately translated as "It's a what-if story".
Tumblr media
Had Shigure dreamed of Tohru all those years ago, what would have been different?
...
But Tohru isn't who he dreamed of and this is the bed Shigure has decided to make for himself. One he has kept on the path of for years. So he lets himself think about the what ifs for a moment before ultimately deciding to keep lying in the bed he's made in hopes of the day Akito finally comes around.
But it's in Shigure's mind, and now the audience's mind, that more than likely it should have been Tohru. Tohru and what she represents is who he should have dreamed of.
You can see signs that a relationship with Tohru is something Shigure's considered even vaguely in the series even before that point though.
Tumblr media
Sure it's passed as a joke, but when you look back at the scene with the "what if story" goggles, you can't help wondering "was it really though?"
Tumblr media
Hell, Shigure desiring Tohru is something that even Akito feared.
She was enraged at the thought very thought of it during the Summer Vacation arc. It's what set Akito off enough to tell Tohru that she is the God of the zodiacs and they all belong to her, Shigure in particular.
Akito was already even in an agitated state before she asked Shigure if he felt anything even partially romantic towards Tohru. Why? Because she's displeased that Shigure isn't kind to her the way he used to be. That he used to only look at Akito but now he doesn't. She wants him to be kind to her again, like he was before.
And Shigure is exceptionally kind to Tohru.
Tumblr media
Like he is very careful and considerate when he comes to Tohru which he even confesses to Mayu at one point when she tells him that he should treat her carefully. He tells her 「これでも僕にしてはめずらしいくらい大切にしてると思うんだけどね」 which can, more accurately be given a rough translation of "I think it's unusual for me, but I'm taking good care of her" or even "I think it's unusual for me to value someone this much".
And if you look back on the series, that isn't cap.
Excluding characters like Kisa, Hiro and Momiji (who isn't the same age as the other two but acts youthful enough it is easy to forget), Tohru is the only character Shigure doesn't really treat the way he does everyone else.
Shigure has no problem poking and prodding at people, even in moments where they're very clearly in emotional turmoil when he says them.
Asking Yuki what Akito told him during the Summer Vacation arc.
Telling Kyo that he is using hating Yuki as a shield for what he doesn't want to think about.
(... Telling Akito "bitch I wouldn't have cheated on you if you didn't cheat on me first" lmaooo.)
Even if at the end of the day, it is coming from his own way of caring (trying to get people to act and move forward), that doesn't change the fact Shigure can be a complete asshole. One that will say some very hurtful things to people.
And he's done it multiple times to the same people over and over again. Measuring what's the right amount of what to say to avoid or invoke a specific reaction that he does or doesn't want. Sometimes it's played for laughs, other times it is to rile someone up so badly they cannot contain their aggravation.
So it really isn't cap when he tells Mayu he does, in reality, treat Tohru very gently. For all that Shigure is capable of doing, he treats Tohru with more care than he normally gives to people. Especially considering he has no real reason to since she was a stranger to him until recently.
Tumblr media
It takes Shigure until the final arc to do anything of his usual nature to Tohru. And when he does, he asks her if she's mad at him afterwards. It doesn't sound like much until you realize he's never done anything of that sort for any other character in the series.
Yuki. Kyo. Akito.
He'll back off. He might sigh and state it's pointless to continue a debate when he and the other person are going back and forth in circles. But he never asks to see how that other person feels because he doesn't care. Hell, he can tell if that other person is upset with him or done with his shenanigans.
And yet with Tohru, he feels compelled to ask for the first time ever.
Tumblr media
And, of course, I can't talk about all this stuff and not mention Shigure's calm fury when Tohru fell from the cliffside. He stayed quiet for damn near 20 seconds as he processed that Akito told him that Tohru fell and we don't see his face the entire time he's processing. Then once he finally pulls himself together, he couldn't even let Akito finish her sentence when he asked if Tohru's 'fall' was a push.
We never truly get to see in Furuba, something that could set Shigure off.
But I think in that moment we get a glimpse of it. A glimpse that shows just how strongly he feels for Tohru. Because it begs the question, if Akito had pushed Tohru off that cliff, what would Shigure have done? How would he have reacted? I don't think even Shigure knew how he would have reacted.
I'm honestly morbidly curious.
That's all to say, that, "what if" story was with Shigure. Not Momiji, not Yuki. It was Shigure.
'If you didn't end up with A, you definitely would have ended up with B'. If we narrowed this down to Yuki and Tohru specifically, there's only two other characters that come close to that. If it wasn't Machi for Yuki and Kyo for Tohru ー YuKyo and ShiTohru would have been at the finish line.
If Shigure had dreamed of Tohru... or hell, what if he had dreamt of Akito but decided that that dream alone wasn't enough to keep the canine sense of loyalty he was cursed with?
There definitely would have been more than just proposals played for laughs and musings of that 'what could have been's.
Well anyway if you're curious to see my take on what it could have been like if Shigure dreamed of Tohru (complete w/ YuKyo and onesided AkiGure) do I have the story for you because I'm writing it on AO3. Read and give me comments to validate my delusions wwwwwwwwwww

Could I ask what your top 10 Nagito ships are? Or even top 20 if you can go that high?
Okay! This is in a tiered order moreso than a sequential order, and I'm tossing a few platonic ships in, too, when I'm equally passionate about them. (There are some friendships that I just really want him to form, lol. I'm not wholly closed to them being romantic, but I really like them as friendships.)
If you know the actual ship name for the ones I don't, please let me know.
So first of all, I'm weird about Nagito ships (and this is fully a me thing), in that I don't love any ship that I feel reinforces his worst beliefs. So, in the
Favorite Tier: Komaegi, Komahina
Because those two don't have talents (in the way Hope's Peak understands talent) and I feel like having him date someone with a talent means he isn't having to confront any of his own opinions, and on some level that bothers me. Granted, dating the untalented doesn't necessarily mean he's confronting his beliefs either, but this is Makoto and Hajime we're talking about.
Favorite Tier (Platonic): Komanaga
Because I feel like a lot of the mental/emotional work Nagito has to do is stuff Angie also has to do, and I just really like them as friends. I really think they can be good for each other, provided they're both working on unlearning a lot of stuff.
"Still Really Like" Tier: Komanami, Komazumi, Kamukoma, Nagito x Chihiro
I think most of this is self-explanatory, and also the possibilities created by Chihiro x Nagito excite me.
"Still Really Like" Tier (Platonic): Sonagito, Nagito & Taka, Nagito & Kyoko
Also mostly self-explanatory, I think.
Like Well Enough: Kuzukoma, Soumaeda, Twomaeda, Komawari
Okay I wasn't sure whether to put Komawari in this or the "Still Really Like" platonic section, but I went with this just because I think it'd be interesting. I made a post in the past about how I think Akane could also make Nagito think about his internal biases and how he kind of views and treats intelligence. Also, I'm kind of hard-headed, and when I see it commonly taken as a matter of course that Nagito and Akane are platonic, my brain wants to try the opposite.
Can Enjoy, Depending on Execution: Komamiki, Oumaeda
It really just depends for them. I've seen some cool stuff and I've seen some stuff that super wasn't for me. In a vacuum, I'm not into it, but I can see potential.
Please help me out with these ship names, lol!

in regards to your danganronpa asks;
#13 and #14?
Hi, anon! Thank you for the question. Sorry it took me so long to answer😅
13. What is your OTP?
My OTP is probably obvious, it's Oumota. But I also wanna list some of the other pairings from all the games.
From THH I think I enjoyed Aoi and Sakura's relationship the most. However you interpret it, they really form an interesting and kinda unexpected duo. They really care about eachother and their story is very tragic💔
I kinda love Makoto x Kyoko x Byakuya as well. I think they have a very fun dynamic and should all hold hands and care for eachother (even though some might not want to show it).
Also, I like Tokomaru! They're very cute and I like how they supported eachother and helped eachother grow throughout the game!
From Goodbye Despair I think I love Komahina the most. I think they have a very complicated, but interesting relationship. I don't know how to properly articulate my thoughts about them, but I really enjoyed their interactions in game x)
I also like Hajime x Fuyuhiko, their dynamic is also really fun. I like how Fuyuhiko treats Hajime with respect, even though he himself is a yakuza, and even tells him, after Hajime's talent (or rather lack thereof) got revealed, that his opinion on Hinata didn't change a bit. They're kinda similar in a way, and I think they can really get along.
From DRV3, well... I think you only have to take one look at my blog to easily tell that I LOVE oumota. They are literally my everything!! I love them so much!! They have such an interesting dynamic. They are polar opposites yet they have so much in common. They have a lot of shared interests and they can really challenge eachother's worldviews. Also, willingly or not, they've become a really important part of eachother's lives. I think, even though they have a lot of conflicts with eachother, they can find a middle ground, not fully agreeing with other's point of view, but accepting and respecting it. I think if they unite, they'll literally become unstoppable💜💫
Honestly, I could talk about them for ages...
Other ship from V3 that I really like is Saimatsu. Although Kaede wasn't there for long, the interactions they've had were really sweet and heartwarming. Plus, I enjoy their contrast in personalities and designs. And I now always think of them when I hear Clair de Lune💔
I also lately found myself kinda interested in Amamatsu. Their interactions in game are really fun, and they seem to enjoy eachother's company. I was neutral to this pairing, but some fanfics made me really like it.
Also, I've come to really like Tenmiko for the same reason. Even though Tenko's obsession with Himiko is kinda weird, but in Chapter 3 we see, that she really cares about Himiko and want's to help her become more open and active. And Tenko actually is important for Himiko. Too bad she realised it too late. But because of Tenko Himiko actually tried her best to improve. It was hard for her, very hard, but she put all the energy she had to try to become the person Tenko would be proud of.
14. What is your NOTP?
I don't think I have any pairings that I actually hate (with exeption of obvious fucked up shit like pedophilia and incest, but that goes without saying). But there are several ships that I'm not a huge fan of.
One of them is Hyoko x Mikan, it just makes me uncomfortable.
And also I'm not a fan of Saiouma/Oumasai. I don't really have an explaination. Any of the things I don't like about it are probably coming from me not liking this ship, rather than being a reason why I don't like it. So, just not my thing, I guess.

I'm sorry for the hurt, but I saw that your current favorite anime was Madoka and now I need to know.....who is Madoka and who is Homura more in your opinion?? For our turtles and gang with Leosagi.
Oh see this is all about what flavor of suffering you want.
#1
Usagi is Homura
This can work in 2003 or rise style
Thematically Homura is the odd one out. Both in the sense that she is outside of the time line but also the group.
Usagi is an outsider to the turtles. They have their skills (and in rise their powers) that play off of and work together well. Usagi works well on his own or with one partner (this is not sayin he can’t work with the group usagi defiantly does and homura has timelines where she also finds a roll with in the group.
Yer with each loop with each failure he would get more focused on the change he could make rather then the relationships that are fading.
Having to watch Leo watch his family die over and over and then also having to watch Leo die would suck so much. Usagi’s determination and focus would be incredible.
In 2003 they already know each other so maybe the Leo and Usagi are close friends but not together when the whole situation gets started. Maybe Usagi tells Leo his feelings in the first time line. When everything hits the fan and Usagi is sent back in time, once again he and Leo are just friends.
With each time line he pulls further and further away from the turtles. He’s so focused on keeping them alive he can’t think of anything else. Meanwhile Leo is so confused why his friend/crush is acting so coldly towards him.
For rise you can do the same thing or you can stay really faithful to the source matter Al and have Leo and Usagi meet and fall for each other in the first timeline. This way every time it resets Leo doesn’t remember Usagi. Bunny boy is bending over backwards to keep Leo and his family alive and they don’t even know who he is.
Lot of shipping angst in both of these options
#2
Donnie is homura
I told you it depended on the type of suffering you wanted. (2003 brotherly angst or Rise and get not only brotherly angst but also disaster twin angst)
Donnie desperately trying to save his family from their destruction over and over again and nothing is working
Usagi and Leo could still have their romance in the side but this lead to further tragedy. (Sayaka and Kyoko = ninja vs samurai values)
Maybe Donnie doesn’t realize that they were romantic in the first few time loop. (Maybe they are dating and just haven’t told any one yet or Leo really likes him but hasn’t said anything yet) the two always die together in every timeline
Until Donnie saves Leo and not Usagi, and he finds out. He finds out how much Leo cared for Usagi as he watches his brother morn and break apart at the loss.
Maybe for a while he tries to save Usagi to. But as the longer the time loop goes on, the more his values narrow.
Homura started out trying to save the others as well. But she realized it was pointless so she focused on just saving madoka. Donnie does the same thing but focuses just on his family. Outsiders become acceptable losses.
Even when those losers destroy his brothers emotionally every time (Leo loses Usagi. Raph loses Mona or Casey, etc.) but by this point Donnie can’t care. His family is alive they will get over their grief eventually.
But he can never keep them all alive.
No the main question is who will Madoka be? Who sacrifices themselves for the greater good? Who would give up their mortal life to spare those they love?
Leo. (Doesn’t matter if it’s rise or 2003 that bou is going down)

Kiss marry fuck with the V3 cast~
Boys are makoto hajime and Shuichi (gee wonder who will be kaede’s favorite :V )
Disclaimer: R18 material! If not to your liking then please do not read!
Kaede
"I mean...is it any contest who I'm marrying~ I've known Shuichi for long and gotten to know him so well. He's so sweet, handsome, reliable, caring, hasaridiculouslybigbutt, a-a-and is just 'the one' for me! Though if I did have to choose for the other two it'd be Fuck Makoto since he's the most like Shuichi in 'certain ways' and kiss Hajime right on the lips! Bet he'd be good at it~
Maki
"Did Kokichi put you up to this? I'll kill him if he did...B-but I guess, if I did have to pick someone it'd be Shuichi. He and Kaito are pretty much the only two people I...don't think I can stand living without. Other two...guess Hajime to fuck since I heard he's pretty damn strong in bed and Makoto for kiss since...well, he's the last one left. Why else?"
Miu
"Acting as if I can't bag, bang and break all three of these simps~ Not many can match my brains, good lucks and talents, but I guess Makunto could be a good maid for the house while I'm gone~ Hajerkoff can fuck me good while I'm in my workshop and I'll make Shuicky's day and ruin anyone's dreams by giving him the raunchiest make-out session ever!!!"
Tenko
"Y-you dare think I would choose a degenerate male!!! How dare you!? I would never, ever, ever, ever, ever choose any of these guys!! I would never think of wanting to marry someone like that grossly handsome Hajime o-or being bent over and fucked by Shuichi disgustingly hung cock! And who'd wanna kiss that un-cute Makoto? No one!! Now leave!!!"
Kirumi
"Hm, that's an interesting question. If I'd have to answer, it would probably be who would need my assistance the most? Shuichi works on cases on a daily bases, so by marrying him it would lighten his load. I would kiss Hajime as a means of encouraging him to continue fighting for his passion in life. For...'intercourse' I would choose Makoto. A-admittedly, for more...'personal reasons' than the other two, but I suppose that's the case of being in last."
Himiko
"Nyeh, what an exhausting question. Hm, I guess marry Shuichi since I know him the most and I like being around him? F-fuck Hajime, since he's...well, you know. Pretty hot. And Makoto, I wouldn't mind spending mana on giving him a healing kiss~"
Angie
"Nyahahaha~ I do enjoy questions like these!! I would induce Shuichi into the ranks of Atua's high-ranked followers by marrying him (and he gets mind numbing everyday as a perk afterword's~) Makoto can work as a disciple after show him an 'enlightening night' and a kiss to Hajime can 'awaken' his potential and true purpose to serve Atua~"
Tsumugi
"And saving the Mastermind for last? How thoughtful!! Well, I'd marry Shuichi, because what gets people going more than the Hero being shipped with the villain~ Fuckingwise, I've always been eager to see how Makoto would do in bed, especially if I turned into Kyoko or Junko. Lastly, I'd kiss Hajime nice and long. He's practically Izuru so it'd still be nice to know what that red eyed black haired God would taste like~

Kyoko was a little girl once.
She tried not to think about in her grand old age of what? Twenty-something? Early twenty-something, even.
But she had been a little girl once and watching the two little boys who were in her charge, more or less, she shared them with two men, she did recall things from her own childhood. She remembered playing with dolls. She remembered playing house. She remembered singing, here comes the bride, to herself and playing wedding all the same as she played with her dolls or played house. She even remembered mixing them all up into the same game because she didn’t have very many friends.
To watch Ryoken and his… friend reenact the same sort of things as she had, it was bittersweet to say the least.
It made her heart ache in her chest. Kyoko had once had a dream of the married with two point five kids and a dog and a nice little place to call her own with her husband kind of lifestyle. Now, considering her deeds, she felt as though her right to that dream - or any dream, for that matter - was forfeit.
After all, it was a dream of scientific evolution that had landed her in this mess. One more wrong move and she would be locked up with the key thrown away.
Two point five kids and a dog. Pfft. After what she and her fellow scientists had done, she shouldn’t be allowed within five yards of a child and yet, she was beloved Kyoko-nee-san to two boys. One of which was even the child who should have disqualified her right to being human. Instead he worshipped it.
She sat back with her two fellow… scientists. She didn’t want to use the p-word or co-p-word with either of them but she did sit back with them. On the lounge, drinking wine from the cask because all three of them were that depressed.
They could all feel something bubble away under the surface. Things had been quiet. Too quiet. The proceedings of getting Dr. Kogami were coming along smoothly, too. So, there was definitely going to be the precipice of something on the horizon but no one knew what just yet. It was soon to be revealed, perhaps.
“Did any of you think life would turn out this way?” Kyoko asked.
   “Of course not.” Aso said.
   “A little.” Genome replied.
He replied with that just to be contrarian and both Kyoko and Aso could tell he was specifically being contrarian right now. It was in the scrunch of both his nose and his voice. No one in their right mind would think life would ever turn out this way for a fictional character, let alone for actual people and yet. Here they were.
Three disgraced scientists, contending with the imminent revival of their head scientist. All of them involved in a project which had involved torturing children to create little, tiny beings of artificial intelligence with free will. They were also the current guardian to one boy, the son of their dead but soon to be resurrected boss, and the who knows what to the other boy, one of the children they had experimented upon and was thanking them heartily for it.
“How did you think life would turn out?” Aso asked.
“Not with a bunch of brats, I’ll tell you what. We better be stopping at two.” Genome grumbled.
“I wanted kids.” Kyoko said. “Not this young, of course, I wanted to establish my career first, be at least thirty before the first tiny tot but…”
   “But yeah.” Aso agreed.
“So did you want the whole package?” Genome asked. “Picket fence and a puppy? A marriage?”
“Well… yeah… Kind of comes with the work-life balance modern woman package, one would hope anyway.” Kyoko replied.
   “That’s sweet.” Aso replied.
“Gag me with a spoon, personally.” Genome blew a raspberry.
“Hey, don’t make fun of me.” Kyoko glared and she took a hard chug of her wine after that.
“Exactly.” Aso said. “I… I was married once, actually.”
   “You were?” Genome exclaimed.
Kyoko was quiet. She had known Aso a little bit longer than Genome, prior to the Incident, whereas Genome had been brought on specifically for the Incident and so, she already knew this story. It always made her feel a little funny given that, well, they were all sleeping together and with each other and in all sorts of combinations to cope. Be it with natural bodily urges and otherwise…
“Yes, I was married to a woman, once, but she passed away from cancer. We were twenty-one when we tied the knot. Young but she was already on the clock, we both knew. She was gone before either of us turned twenty-five.” Aso explained.
“Very sad. My condolences.” Genome hollowly replied.
“Yes, my heart always breaks when you bring it up.” Kyoko added, more genuine and sympathetic in emotion than Genome before her.
“Enough time has passed, I think.” Aso said. “She will always be important to me but I have my own life to live, I can’t live as though I am dead, too.”
“You may as well be though… Given our circumstances.” Kyoko murmured.
“She has a point.” Genome shrugged.
“We still have lives to live, I promise.” Aso said with wisdom befitting of his years, given he was older than both Kyoko and Genome but in their comparative youth, they were cynics.
And so, they stared. With dead fish eyes. Aso huffed.
“Why don’t we all get married?” he huffed. “I think we could do with a little joy. It makes sense given our shared commitments in child raising.”
“Hey, I said we’re stopping at two, I know for a fact you should be shooting blanks, old man, and I’ll get a vasectomy if need be.” Genome threatened.
Kyoko laughed, “We don’t need to get married. I’m fine day drinking like this.”
“Let’s compromise then.” Aso said but his merry voice then turned grumpy, “No vasectomies needed, and stop calling me old man, your like two years younger than me.”
Genome laughed hysterically. So long as he was under someone’s skin, he was more than happy.
“Here, like this, to us.” Aso said.
He corralled both Kyoko and Genome as he was sitting in the middle cushion of the lounge. He roped his arms around their own and forced them to criss-cross, so they could all drink from each other’s wine glasses. Without even saying so, Kyoko and Genome got the picture.
They were all drinking the same cheap sangria but for some reason, it tasted sweeter and more meaningful all looped up like this.
   “Now, we’re married.” Aso declared.
“No take-backsies, I imagine?” Kyoko teased.
“Too late, I want a divorce.” Genome complained.
He leaned over hard to spit in Aso’s glass. Aso drank it greedily.
“Now we’re double married, my friend.” Aso laughed from the bottom of his belly.
Kyoko giggled, too. She wasn’t sure where this was entirely coming from. Maybe that simpering emotion she had felt before, not just in herself but amongst her adult cohort, too, had finally popped and this was the madness that was ensuing from it. Maybe it was just a result of day drinking and nothing more.
Either way, she appreciated the gesture because deep down, she knew her life was over. All their lives were over, despite what Aso claimed. Even his, even he knew it. There was no more life to live considering their crime. They would, forever and always, be the inner sanctum and upper echelon of disgraced scientists under the command and surveillance of Dr. Kogami. They all knew it, they all felt it in precognition, almost, of what was to come with his resurrection.

Hey Cat! 👋 Loving your saimota takes recently 🧡
Bit of a random question, but what did you think of THH? And what are your takes on Mondo, Kiyotaka, and Chihiro (Just as characters 😄)
Hope your having a good day 🌸
Heyy!! Awww thank you so much! 🧡 It means a lot to me! 🥺🌸 Alright so, THH is my least fav of the three main games, but I think it's still good. Overall I just think it's too boring for me? I didn't relate much to any character or felt attached, also have sadly a bad experience playing as Makoto, so it all affected my opinion. And especially that scene where we could choose to tell Kyoko about Sakura but the game didn't let us, like, seriously if we don't have a choice, don't present us a choice 😔😔 Anyway, besides all that, it holds itself. As for my opinion on Mondo, Taka and Chihiro, well, let's see... CW: I'll use "he/him" pronouns for Chihiro So Taka is literally my favourite THH character, best boy, definitely when he died I was so mad, especially since he was so ignored and forgotten, while he was the one that felt the most real, he was strict, but it's clear how he would hide his insecurities by cracking jokes here and there. He was a silly little guy and I wanted to see more of him :(( I love him so much!!! He deserved more. I have nothing to complain about him, just how THH treated him! As for Mondo and Chihiro, I loved what the story did with the theme of "strength" for both of them, how Chihiro thought of himself as weak, while he was actually really strong, and Mondo would show this behavior and appearance of a strong man, but deep down he was weak...! That was a beautiful thematic. But, of course, personally, I gotta say, I was sad about Mondo, because I really liked him, I was so disappointed and mad that this happened, how he killed Chihiro, like that..., I, I felt Taka's pain, he was like a bro to me too... As for Chihiro, I liked him, he's not really a kind of character I get that much attached to, I didn't think he'd die that early, I actually expected to see more, a bigger development, but yeah he was gone too soon (even tho we have Alter Ego, but I see them as two different characters). Chihiro is sweet, I just dunno, I just personally am not that attached to him. So ok, in conclusion, I love Taka, best boy. I'm still a bit disappointed in Mondo, I really have mixed feelings, I never felt the same about him, his impulsivity and anger issues really make me uncomfortable... And for Chihiro, sadly just not a character I care about much, but he's cool! I know you asked for the characters individually, but let me just say, big Ishimondo shipper here, not a fan of Mondo x Chihiro or Taka x Chihiro tho (but I don't mind those who do ship them), but I like the three of them as friends, Chihiro supportive of his gay friends, and ofc Mondo and Taka love and care for their friend too 💖 That's it :) I hope you're having a good day too, thank you for this ask!! 🥰🌸🌸

ship bias x2
SEND ‘SHIP BIAS’ AND I WILL SHARE UP TO 5 SHIPS I HAVE A BIAS FOR FOR MY MUSE! [x] ||Accepting- if you ask about my other muses in other fandoms or what||
Wait--- x2? Oh----- oh okay, let's see if I can do with without any repeat answers. Under readmore bc it's gonna be 10. (No particular order)
Kyoko x Haru (okay look, I'm not gonna say that I want Haru to be ms. Steal your girl, but SHE CAN ABSOLUTELY BE MISS STEAL YOUR GIRL. I won't sit here and lie. I think they have a great dynamic together and they're just two girls who historically have been bashed so much by the fandom. They can be happy together and Kyoko can hold Haru back every time anyone says anything mean.)
Spanner x Haru (Idk I just think it'd be fun. Haru is a smart cookie and can probably hold a conversation fine. Try out the different lollipop flavors, suggest her own. He wanted to see a Yamato Nadeshiko and Haru aspires to be one but her personality disallows it. I just think it would be kinda funny cute that she'd keep trying to prove herself as one but keep failing at it. idk don't question my tastes.)
Shouichi x Haru (... look, maybe-- it could work. idk. Don't ask me. By vibes I feel like maybe it could work. He gets stressed a lot and his stomach hurts a lot. Haru is that kinda gal who is very supportive and is good at caring for people. It might work.)
Chrome x Haru ( ^^ In this meme I am truly going: Do I honestly think Haru could fall for girls too? Absolutely, literally fite me. Be the best supportive girlfriend ever. Help build up that confidence! Make sure she eats well! They can build each other up. THE DYNAMIC)
Squalo x Haru (Okay look, okay look- only in this meme am I willing to out myself for this. I will preface by saying I do prefer him with other people, but i'm running out of peeps okay? Will I say that I think they'd be funny on the premise of loud and louder? The annoying lil one who will constantly be a nuisance as she gets into fights with Xanxus? Who will sneak in and embroider lil sharks on towels and such because it's cute? I think it's hilarious to think about.)
... Xanxus x Haru (LOL again, i'm running out of people and i'm not gonna lie, I am verily amused by the idea that Haru is extremely stubborn and will fight back. Still, if she takes notice that someone is troubled and may need help (regardless of if they admit it or not), she would try to help them. If someone out there just needs someone who can show actual care for them and be patient while doing so, she can be that girl. They may lash out or what, but if they don't truly mean it in an antagonistic way- she can turn the other way. Everyone takes their time to heal through things. Haru just wants to be helpful and be supportive. SOBS)
Dino x Haru (Sorry Dino-san, I forgot you existed for a hot sec;;;;;;; I mean- I guess it could work? He's a lady-killer so I can see how this could probably work. I'm not entirely sold on it ngl, but welp- what are options)
Mukuro x Haru (First of all, honorary mentions don't count, right? RIGHT? I'm not repeating. ANYWAYS, I mention this based off the fact that AUs are useful in many ways. It was gonna be a childhood friends who met while she was on vacation and when they meet again as they're older, he's quite different and she continues to reach out, trying to understand what happened. Try to help him process through what had happened to him. Slowly become friends again and then see where things went from there. Good times.)
... 3p counts... right? Taurus trio (Hibari x Haru x Yamamoto as they are all taurus AHAHAHAHHHHAHHAHA I won't say much more on this i'm guilty as charged)
... yes another 3p bc yes. Bermuda triangle (Belphegor x Haru x Gokudera bc idk eye of the storm, the Bermuda triangle supposedly just wrecks things and whatever bc I forget. Was it magnetic wave disruption? ANYWAYS. That's why I coined the term for the pair. I like it bc it's chaotic, don't come at me. I'm already ashamed)
WHEEZE Please no one judge me. I tried my darnedest to keep to the meme prompt. OTL I still cheated a bit but I HAD TO. I WAS RUNNING OUT OF OPTIONS.

So, my main ship for Kyoko Kirigiri and Celestia Ludenburg from Danganronpa is each other, since in the original game and anime adaptation Kyoko’s one of the few Celeste shows any genuine respect and admiration toward, Celeste is the girl that Kyoko has the most direct interaction with and is implicitly one of the only ones to see beneath her façade, and in general I see Kyoko as gay and Celeste as a repressed bi masquerading as this strictly heterosexual princess type and think they’d just have the best romantic chemistry together.
(Also, this.)
With that said, I’m fond of several other ships for each of them as well.
Celeste/Sayaka - No real basis for this one other than it’s Sayaka. I feel like just about anyone of any gender could fall in love with her and be part of a valid ship with her.
Celeste/Chiaki - In USC, they have some adorable interactions, with Chiaki totally being fine with playing into Celeste’s image of herself but in a sweet way rather than an unhealthy one, and Celeste is genuinely kind to Chiaki and seems interested in learning things from her.
Celeste/Peko - Peko is extremely similar to Kyoko but closer to Celeste’s...side of legality, which leads to two events where they play games and get along quite splendidly in UTDP.
Celeste/Sonia - Sonia literally is what Celeste wishes she could be, and as USC shows she is 100% in favor of helping Celeste achieve her dream. Well, I say: why not via marriage? They click together quite well, after all, and would make the Ultimate Royal Power Couple.
Celeste/Kaede -  Thank USC for deciding “hey, why not give the other Erika Harlacher voiced character a shot?” Kaede is remarkably skilled at bringing out the good side of Celeste and even accepts the bad side with a positive attitude, and by the end Celeste is blatantly thirsting after Kaede and hiding behind her “Oh, if only you were a handsome man I could dress as a vampire!” cover...while still concocting an excuse to get Kaede into her castle.
Celeste/Kirumi - UTDP and USC has them forge a smooth, natural bond with one another as the girl who longs to be served and the girl who loves serving others, with Celeste doing her unsubtle “if but you were a handsome man suiting my tastes!” repressed bi shtick.
Celeste/Tsumugi - Two events in UTDP shows that these two are actually highly compatible: Celeste being the plain girl hidden behind an extravagant semi-villainous exterior and Tsumugi being a semi-villainous eccentric hidden behind the veneer of being a plain girl.
Kyoko/Sayaka - Just LOOK at this! How can I not ship it?
Kyoko/Hina - In DR1, Hina is the only surviving girl Kyoko would really get particularly close to (she clearly wants as little to do with Toko as possible), and sure enough other canons like UTDP and USC give them a lot of adorable interactions. Hina really <3s her “Kyokers”.
Kyoko/Mukuro - Maybe it’s just Kyoko’s repetition of her name over and over again in DR1, but I can’t help it, I think they work well together, and UTDP backs me up on this repeatedly.
Kyoko/Chiaki - The main heroine of DR1 and the main heroine of DR2; how could such a ship not exist? Their cute interactions in UTDP certainly gives some groundwork to utilize.
Kyoko/Peko - Again, these two are extremely similar, and as UTDP and especially USC shows that similarity can lead to some cool, funny and borderline romantic interactions.
Kyoko/Mahiru - This pairing comes up in both UTDP and USC, and it actually makes a good degree of sense, as Mahiru is the sisterly kind of person any girl can open up to honestly and emotionally, and a former all-girls school atendee like Kyoko would be naturally drawn to that.
Kyoko/Maki - Maki is kind of like Kyoko’s “evil” counterpart, being more on the black side of the scale as opposed to the gray like Celeste or Peko. So there is definitely the sense of a rivalry in their dynamic, but it’s clearly a friendly rivalry, which is always great ship fodder.

So kind of related to your post about the boy-girl romance stuff. I've even noticed and some cases (mostly Shuichi x Kaede) the game pushes it so hard I kinda don't want to ship it. Even if I shipped it before, I just...lose interest in the ship because of how hard theyre pushing it.
Wow, honestly, you took the words right out of my mouth! About Kaede and Shuichi in particular (since I agree that it was the biggest example of a compulsory heterosexual pair in Danganronpa,) I'll talk about them in particular...
Prior to playing V3, I knew a few things about the game already, so I knew that Shuichi and Kaede were going to have romantic feelings for each other going into it. While playing the prologue and beginning of chapter 1, I did like their dynamic and was very close to shipping them, but then the more the first chapter went on, it started feeling a little forced, and albeit... a bit corny.
The game really wants you to know how much they love each other by constantly showing blushing, motivational lines of dialogue, the whole "I don't know what I'd do without you " thing in just the span of one chapter. Yes I know it's because Kaede dies at the end of the chapter and it's meant to put more emphasis for that major plot twist during the trial, but it still felt less natural and more "in your face" about it. Also, their freetime and dating events share the problems of her and Shuichi being the only Shuichi pairing that is not one-sided or implied. Even though they added Dating events for all the different characters, the game really wants you to know that these two are so in love with each other.
Honestly, it was nearly the exact same problem I had with Sayaka and Makoto in the first game and chapter. The game shoved the romantic relationship between these two down the player's throats so much that other characters barely got any screentime until after she dies. Makoto and Sayaka's relationship felt very superficial (though you could argue that it was the point since Sayaka ends up betraying Makoto's trust), and I didn't feel or care for their relationship all that much because of it. So when she died, I didn't really feel too devastated, even before finding out about her betrayal. Then after Sayaka dies, it is implied in DR3 as well as magazines that Makoto and Kyoko suddenly have crushes on each other. That made me roll my eyes the hardest, because their relationship was strictly platonic in-games and even in the DR1 anime. They struck me as two people who grew to trust, care, and believe in each other, but with no romantic or sexual attraction. (And no, freetime and school modes dont count here, i'm referring to the actual storyline of the games.) Then DR3 decides to continue that nice relationship, only with the whole "Ooh, but they could be in love with each other and eventually be dating!" trope suddenly shoehorned in, and that was disappointing because despite it being implied , it didn't need to be there in the first place. But honestly, their friendship and why I prefer it that way is a post for another time 😅
Overall, I totally agree about it being annoying when a creator seemingly wants to cram a certain aspect down the audience's throats, and can often sour your enjoyment for them originally because of it. My apologies if I went on for a little too long there 😅

Tumblr media
Hi! I’m here to bring you yet another Danganronpa tier list: the sexuality tier list, which you can find here.
Now I’m going to be honest here: I don’t really have any LGBT headcanons. It’s just not really something I focus on much when it comes to fandoms. Instead I usually just focus on ships, and as a result from that I tend to present a lot of characters as LGBT in fanfictions and posts I’ve made or reblogged. In other words, a massive chunk of my “headcanons” here are a direct result of shipping (as well as information I’ve picked up from the games themselves). That being said, it was interesting to actually think about this for once, so I’m kinda glad I did the tier list. And it gave me an excuse to bring back the rainbow color scheme I usually put in my tier lists for aesthetic reasons.
The original tier list had Straight at the top, but I moved it to the bottom for two reasons. One, this is Tumblr and that’s not what you’re here for. Two, I gave it a neutral color, and having a gray section next to a white section (i.e. the title of the list) like that looked bad to me. I definitely prefer this setup just on aesthetic alone.
Because this is largely based on ships, I feel it needs to be said that representation does not factor into this chart in any way. I know it probably looks bad that the only character in the Lesbian category is one of my least favorite (though NOT hated or even disliked, I should point out) characters in the main series. That has nothing to do with the fact that she’s a lesbian. She’s just a jerk, and usually not in a way that’s at least entertaining enough for me to like her.
Also keep in mind that this is just the main cast of the main series games. If you were to include characters from the DR3 anime, UDG, or the spin-offs, the Gay, Lesbian, and Ace categories would get more rep, certainly. Think Juzo, Yui, Takemichi, that gay guy with the trumpet, etc.
With that said, let’s go through the list:
Gay
Not gonna lie, one of the reasons why Rantaro is here (and not in Ace) is because of ships. Though I do sometimes ship him with girls, canon suggests he’s not interested in dating girls, and most fans seem to headcanon him as either gay or ace because of this, so I respected that. That being said, I also acknowledge he’s a very popular character in mlm ships, and at the time I was putting this together I hadn’t gotten to Taka yet so the Gay tier was still empty, and Byakuya was already sitting in Ace, so all of that swayed me to putting Rantaro here instead of Ace.
Taka was much easier to place here. He strikes me as a closeted gay man who probably doesn’t even realize he is gay. “Hey, let’s all hang out in the bath, guys! Getting naked is essential to form bonds with your fellow man! No need to be ashamed, it’s tradition!"
Lesbian
Again, ships. I only ship Hiyoko with one other character, and as soon as I say that you already know who she is.
Bisexual (Male Preference)
Akane is mostly here to account for any wlw ships I may have of her (e.g. Hina, Sonia maybe). Obviously she has a thing with Nekomaru, so Male Preference.
Chiaki is here for the same reason as Akane. I’ve shipped her with characters like Sonia and Ibuki before, but she really digs Hajime.
Chihiro honestly could have been anywhere in the Bi and Pan sections, but I ultimately went with Male Preference because of ships, specifically the fact that outside of the more... R18 circles of the Interwebs Chihiro tends to be shipped with guys more often than girls. Also doesn’t hurt that my OTP is Naehiro. I mean, have you seen how often Chihiro blushes around Makoto? (There’s more to it than that, as I’ve covered in the past. I’m just trying to add more fuel to the fire.)
Himiko is probably one of the few characters that isn’t here mainly because of ships. I do think she has some attachment towards Tenko, but I also get “I’m uncomfortable around her” vibes from her, and there are moments where she seems to crush on Kokichi (of all people) so that’s why she’s here. Still very much bi, though.
Hina has a crush on Makoto and has a complex around wishing she was more feminine so she can attract boys. So why isn’t she in the Straight section? ...Because Sakura, duh. And Kyoko too. And any other wlw ship you can think of that might work with Hina.
Honestly if it wasn’t for Miu I probably would have considered putting Kokichi in Gay. Again, while shipping plays a big part of my choices here, much like with Rantaro I have no qualms with putting a character in a tier that contradicts any ships I might have with that character, if those ships aren’t something I’m super invested in. This is a very important distinction, because it’s why I let ships sway my hand for so many of these even if I am also okay with going “Just because I ship this doesn’t mean I headcanon it” as I did with Rantaro. And honestly Kokichi’s ship teasing with Himiko does come off as more trollish than a sign that he’s into her, but he really gets into his back-and-forth with Miu, in my personal opinion, and he gets into it far more often with her for that matter. It’s why it’s one of my favorite ships for both of them tbh, and it’s because I like the ship so much that I just can’t ignore it for this sexuality headcanon tier list.
Maki... is here because of ships (e.g. Kaede).
Sakura... is here because of ships (e.g. Hina). ...What, you were expecting me to put a guy in the example? Remember, she has a boyfriend in canon.
Sayaka... is here because of... NOT ships, but DRAT. Yes, really. (”We really got down and dirty, Naegi-kun.”)
Sonia... strikes me as someone who swings both ways. I can’t describe exactly why I feel that way, but yes.
Bisexual (No Preference)
Celeste wants a harem of vampire boys but shipping her with Kyoko is also very popular and honestly i feel like it would fit her character. She’s got a look that says “I could get any ass I want and I know it.”
Ibuki is decked out in blues and pinks, and also I ship her fairly evenly among both boys and girls. She just screams bi icon to me, more so than any other character in the series.
Junko is either bi with no preferences or pan. She is an equal opportunity heart-and-soul-breaker and lust-for-despair machine.
There is no Mukuro in this list, but honestly I would probably put her where I put Junko anyway.
Kaede... is here because of ships (e.g. Miu, Maki)
Honestly I had no idea where to put Kirumi, so I just randomly chose one that I wouldn’t regret later if I ever put more thought into who I shipped her with.
I’m pretty sure Nagito being bisexual has some degree of canon attached to it??? I think??? I’m not entirely sure tbh, but fuck it. I’m doing this for fun anyway, so this doesn’t really matter.
Shuichi, like all Danganronpa protags, is bi as fuck. I also find him to be more shippable with guys than the other two protags, so IMO he has no preference.
Toko might have a thing or two for pretty boys, but... Komaru, I mean, this isn’t exactly shocking, I don’t think. Probably was closeted before she met Komaru. I mean she did focus on Hina’s boobs a lot in DR1, let’s not forget.
Tsumugi, much like Kirumi, is here because I haven’t put much thought into her ships.
Bisexual (Female Preference)
Gundham has a thing with Sonia in canon, but I can see him being bi. So... yeah, ships again.
Hajime, like all Danganronpa protags, is bi as fuck. It’s just that his Chiaki and Mikan game is just too strong.
Hifumi might claim to only like 2D, but his interest in Chihiro both in human form and computer program form (and the fact that this didn’t go away after the gender reveal) places him here.
Kaito strikes me as a closeted bisexual. The kind that could start any given conversation with “I’m not gay, but...”
Kazuichi also strikes me as a closeted bisexual, only his “I’m not gay, but...” is rooted more in dumbass than it is in systematic homophobia.
Korekiyo... is here because of ships (e.g. Rantaro).
Kyoko is bi as fuck, and I can see her having a preference towards girls in particular. She gets shipped with girls a lot (e.g. Celeste, Hina, Yui, and even Junko and Mukuro), and when she is shipped with boys it’s usually just pretty boys (e.g. Makoto, Byakuya, Ryota, Shuichi, and, depending on your interpretation, Chihiro). Also note that aside from Makoto and maybe Byakuya, Kyoko’s girl ships are far more popular than her boy ships. Just something I’ve noticed over the years.
Leon... is here because of ships (e.g. Chihiro).
Mahiru is here because I’m pretty sure she has a thing for Hajime in her FTEs, but obviously she tends to get shipped with girls more often (especially Hiyoko), and I agree.
Makoto, like all Danganronpa protags, is bi as fuck. It’s just that his Kyoko, Hina, Sayaka, and Mukuro game is just too strong.
Mikan may be interested in Hajime somewhat, but her obsession with Junko cannot be ignored, no matter how much some of you may want to.
Mondo is another character that strikes me as a closeted bisexual. He is said to strike out all the time with girls, so I do think he’s attracted to women. And I do get some vibes that he’s attracted to Chihiro pre-reveal. And if circumstances had been different, I imagine he probably still would have been post-reveal. But obviously it’s his bond with Taka that I feel cements his sexuality in, at the very least, an mlm category.
Tenko... is here NOT because of ships, but because I’m pretty sure she’s at least sort of interested in Shuichi because of some canon thing... and also I don’t want to put her in Lesbian just because it feels like I’d be stereotyping the Lesbian category if I do that. If we were to compare her to the character that I did put in Lesbian, Hiyoko doesn’t treat people like shit because they’re men, she’s an equal-opportunity asshole. Still not the best representation for lesbians by a long shot, but at least Hiyoko doesn’t follow the stereotype of a man-hating lesbian. She’s just like that, and that’s okay. But putting Tenko there, especially if she’s shown some degree of interest in a male character at some point in the game, just rubs me the wrong way personally, because it would feel like I’m ignoring canon just to stereotype her. But that’s just a personal hang up of mine. No disrespect intended toward anyone who genuinely feels that Tenko is a lesbian. Maybe you see something there that I don’t, and that’s perfectly fine.
Pansexual
I don’t remember exactly how her FTEs went, so I’m not going to get into that, but Angie just comes off as pan to me, like gender doesn’t fit into the equation at all for her.
Gonta I can see as either pan or ace. I feel like he wouldn’t care about gender, and honestly the only reason I decided to put him in Pan rather than Ace is because of that scene with Miu.
Imposter is not only pan, they are currently OT3ing it up with Ibuki and Ryota as we speak, and that’s a fact.
Keebo... is mostly here because of ships. A lot of ships, actually. Mostly male ships (Kokichi, Shuichi, Kazuichi, and, depending on your interpretation, Chihiro) but there’s also Miu to consider. And the Miu game is SO strong that I put him in Pan instead of, say, Male Preference.
Just gonna lump them together because I have the same thing to say about both of them: Miu and Teruteru would **** anything that walks. What did I censor? Well, I’m doing the Nier: Automata thing, so you can put whatever you want in there and trust me, it would probably fit, for better or for worse.
Ace
I know this is an unpopular opinion, because Naegami, but I just don’t think Byakuya is interested in anyone, at least not in that way. He might be fascinated with how common people live, because it’s so foreign to him, but that’s about it.
Straight
Even though I do ship Fuyuhiko with some of the boys, his Peko game is so strong that honestly I can’t see him actually dating anyone aside from Peko outside of some very niche fanfiction.
Honestly, Hiro was another one that I was just like “I have no idea what to do with you.” I think maybe his team up with Kanon made me eventually choose to put him in Straight? I don’t remember. I clearly didn’t put much thought into Hiro.
I really only ship Nekomaru with Akane, so that’s why he’s here. I’m sure if I dive deep enough into my psyche I can pull an mlm ship with Nekomaru in it out of my ass, but like Rantaro that wouldn’t be significant enough to change anything.
Peko is in the same boat as Fuyuhiko. I have shipped her with girls before, but her Fuyuhiko game is just too strong.
Ryoma had a girlfriend once, and as far as I can remember he didn’t really seem interested in anybody in the game, so that’s all I have to go off of for him.
-----
So there you have it. Explanations for literally all of them! Explanations that were definitely not pulled out of my ass as I was typing them, nope, certainly not. Definitely won’t be tagging all of them, but I may tag the ones with the longest entries. And like all the tier lists I’ve done, this was just for fun and honestly any opinion I have for any of these characters could change at a moment’s notice because my brain is fickle like that. Tried my best to make sure that every tier had at least one character in it, but I did so without trying to force characters in places that I personally did not believe they should go. I hope you all enjoyed my dive into this area of fandom that I rarely dive into (the LGBT headcanons, not the ships, obviously). It was a lot of fun, and hopefully it will stay fun and not result in angry anons blasting me for my opinions. I am grateful that this never seems to happen to me, but I’ve seen it happen to others and I know what Tumblr is capable of at its worst. These are just headcanons and a matter of personal opinion, and if you disagree with them, that’s perfectly okay. Your feelings and opinions are also valid.

beautiful disaster - ch 2
Rating: M Ship: Kyoru Chapter 2/5: “I want to please you.”
Tags: Fluff, Smut, Learning intimacy, Virgin Dorks, Post-Curse, Manga/Anime Spoilers
Tohru was floating the rest of the evening. There were so many times she had to hide her smile while cooking dinner. Never before had she experienced something like that. Something so… she didn’t even have a word for it. Nice? Pleasurable? Her body had been so warm and tingly from Kyo’s touching and exploration.
Of course, Tohru knew how sex worked. She was a bit dense, she could admit, but she wasn’t stupid. She’d read books. And Kyoko had explained to her once her period started what it meant to be a woman. The birds and the bees talk had confused her to no end at first, but she eventually understood. Her mother had found her innocence through the conversation to be humorous, laughing behind her palm as she explained how babies were created to her teen.
Granted, Tohru hadn’t really thought she’d fall in love. Her mother had always been her top priority… the most important person in her life. The one she loved the most. Tohru could never have imagined abandoning her to be with someone else. Even after Kyoko passed, all she could focus on was achieving the goals she and her mother had set for her. Tohru wanted to work. Wanted to earn her way in the world. That’s what they had agreed upon.
But Kyo changed all of that. Kyo opened her world up to so many more things. Of course, she had planned to find a job when they moved. It would be a little different from the original plan, but not too much. Having Kyo by her side made it better. Made her feel whole.
Tohru felt her cheeks heat as she thought of their encounter again. She tried to focus on stirring the stew, but her mind kept wandering elsewhere. Into uncharted territory. She never knew just being touched could set her skin ablaze. Could overwhelm her and make her heart pound. The pleasurable feelings that had coursed through her were unexplainable. Would Kyo feel like that if she gave him the same treatment? She wanted to. Kyo deserved to feel those things too. He deserved everything…
“Honda? Are you feeling well?”
Tohru yelped when Yuki’s voice suddenly yanked her from her thoughts. “I-I’m fine!”
“Are you sure? Your face is flushed.”
Panicked, she touched her cheeks. “I-Is it? It must be from the hot stew! Can you watch it for a moment Yuki-kun? I-I’ll be right back!” she sprinted out of the kitchen quickly before slamming the bathroom door behind her.
She quickly splashed cold water on her face. Breathe. Breathe.
There was a knock.
“Tohru? You okay?” came Kyo’s voice from the other side.
Swallowing, she nodded. “Y-Yeah, I’m fine. J-Just needed some cold water.”
When she opened the door, Kyo was there with a concerned look etched on his features. “I-If earlier was too much for you we don’t have to--”
“No!”
Blinking, his cheeks flushed as he stared at her stunned. “What?”
“I want to. I want to do that again.”
Kyo swallowed thickly before giving her a tiny nod. “Okay,” he murmured and leaned in to give her a small peck on the forehead. They stayed like that for a moment, Tohru leaving her forehead resting against his chin. The affection he showed her was always comforting.
The sound of Yuki clearing his throat sent them flying apart.
“S-Sorry!” she screeched before zipping past both of the boys and back to the stove.
She needed to calm down. She had to calm down.
If Yuki suspected anything, he didn’t act like it at dinner. Thankfully. Tohru was grateful he wouldn’t call her out on the public displays of affection. The last thing she wanted was to make Yuki uncomfortable in any way.
When she finally retreated to her room for the evening, she quickly changed into her pajamas and slipped into the covers of her bed. She snuggled into the warmth, letting the memories from earlier in the day sweep through her thoughts. Tohru rolled onto her back, touching her lips with a small smile, remembering how tender and heated the kisses were that she and Kyo shared. She wanted that again.
Suddenly, she was very excited for their alone time after school tomorrow.
Kyo seemed jittery the following day. She understood… Tohru felt a buzz floating through her as well. The feeling of being with him was addicting. She had already wanted to touch him all the time. Always be close to him, lean on him, hold his hand. But after the day prior, there was so much more of that desire.
She didn’t know the new feeling was noticeable until Ou-chan pointed it out.
“Hey, Tohru. You alright? You seem even spacier than usual today.”
Blinking, Tohru looked up from her desk. “Oh! Um. I’m fine!”
Ou-chan gave her a look, cocking a brow. “This doesn’t have to do with the fact you and Carrots were home alone yesterday, does it?”
“Oh my, well this is news,” Hana-chan mused.
Tohru gave a frantic wave of her hands. “N-No! It’s not!”
“Hey,” Ou-chan bent down in front of her desk. “There’s nothing wrong with it, alright? I just wanted to know what was up. You can talk to us about it, you know. There’s no judgement here. I just want to help you out.”
“Are… Are you sure?”
Hana-chan took her hands. “Of course, Tohru. We want to help you through your first relationship before you leave us.”
“And if Carrots does anything we don’t like… we can rough him up a bit,” Ou-chan grinned with a crack of her knuckle.
“O-Oh, um, please don’t,” Tohru murmured as she felt her cheeks heat.
Ou-chan chuckled and patted her on the head. “Ah, don’t worry. We won’t hurt him too badly.”
Tohru knew Ou-chan was teasing… but part of her thought she might have been serious. She hoped her best friends didn’t actually beat up her boyfriend for anything.
“So,” Hana-chan said as she took a seat. “What’s been going on?”
Feeling the flush on her cheeks, Tohru glanced away as she tapped her lip. “I-It wasn’t much. We--We didn’t, um…” she trailed off. How on earth was she supposed to talk about this?
Ou-chan smirked. “Things were just a little handsy?”
Tohru bristled at that. “Uh! Maybe!”
“Did you touch him?” Hana-chan asked, stoic as ever. How could she ask such a thing so easily?
Shaking her head, she fiddled with her thumbs. “Um, no, actually. Yuki-kun got home so I needed to start on dinner so we… yeah.”
Ou-chan smiled. “Did he make you feel good?”
“Yes,” she squeaked.
Ou-chan stood, stretching a bit. “Then that’s all I needed to know,” she stated before taking her seat.
Tohru felt her brain frazzle from the interrogation she just received. Kyo was busy chatting it up with his fellow classmates, so she silently prayed he hadn’t caught any wind of the conversation between her and her best friends. That would be so embarrassing! Maybe, that’s what he meant yesterday about girl talk. Would Kyo be uncomfortable if she told Ou-chan and Hana-chan what they did? Maybe she should ask him?
As she and Kyo walked hand in hand back home, anticipation bubbled through her. She was so nervous. She didn’t know what to do. What they had done before was rather spontaneous. Would it be different now that they were expecting something to happen between them?
“Hey,” Kyo’s voice distracted her from her worries as she looked up at him. Clearing his throat, she could see the light flush on his cheeks. “Ya don’t need to worry about us-- doin ’ anything if you don’t want to. Yesterday was really, uh, a surprise for both of us, I guess. I don’t want you thinking that just because we both want to do that again doesn’t mean we have to, ya know?”
Tohru had never seen him talk quite so fast. Or so rambly either. She appreciated his worry. And it always amazed her how Kyo could read her like a book. How he always knew what she was thinking, what she was feeling or planning.
“I-I know. But I’m okay. I want to.”
“Really? You sure?”
“Yes.”
His cheeks flushed at her admission. Tohru watched him as he swallowed hard, just as nervous and jittery as she was. Clearly, neither of them had a clue as to what they were doing. Or what they would do when they got home. But Tohru couldn’t help the bubbling excitement of anticipation inside her stomach. Her heart fluttered, chest tight. She wanted this. Wanted to be with him more than anything. Yesterday, she’d given Kyo her word that she’d take care of him. That it’d be his turn. And Tohru had every intention of seeing that promise through.
They were on her bed that day. Probably the better option considering that her bed was much bigger than his futon. Kyo hovered over her, his lips melding with hers. Kissing Kyo lit a new fire inside her she hadn’t even known existed. Tohru didn’t know how to want someone. How to desire another person like she did Kyo. There was a pounding heartbeat in her ears that throbbed throughout her veins. The only thoughts her brain could form were about him. How nice he smelled, how soft his lips were, how gentle his hand was on her hip.
Kyo flattened his body against hers, and Tohru nearly swooned. The feeling of him pressed against her still took so much getting used to. For so long, she was unable to touch him like this. To feel his chest pressed against hers. And now she only wanted it more. The thought was selfish and greedy. She knew she wanted Kyo to herself too much. She hoped that no one would be upset with her for hogging his attention all of the time.
Tohru shifted beneath him, her thigh brushing against the growing bulge in his pants. Kyo groaned against her lips, a sound she had learned was a pleasant one. She repeated the motion and earned a small hiss from him as he pulled away from her lips. An apology was at the tip of her tongue, but when she opened her eyes and saw him panting with half-lidded eyes, the words swept away from her. There was a fire in his amber eyes, pupils blown so wide they almost resembled the cat-like slits he used to have sometimes.
His hot breath fanned her face, his cheeks rosy from their heated kisses. He leaned down, pressing his forehead against hers. “Are you sure?”
“Yes,” she sighed. “I want to please you.”
Kyo scoffed lightly. “You can’t say things like that.”
“It’s the truth.”
Shifting, he gave her another kiss, soft and chaste that time rather than urgent and hurried as their lip-locking had been previously. Kyo cleared his throat. “I-I, uh, should probably take off--” he trailed off.
Tohru glanced down a moment and realized suddenly that neither of them had changed out of their school uniforms. What if they wrinkled them!? Her evening would be spent ironing out clothes for sure. Yuki-kun and Shigure-san would be awfully suspicious.
“Hey.”
Her eyes locked with his after he spoke.
“Quit thinking so hard. I’m gonna take them off in case things get, uh, messy.”
Tohru nodded, unable to speak. Her throat was tight as she watched Kyo lean back and undo the buttons of his pants. She’d felt him through his pants the day previous… but seeing the increased size of his bulge when it was no longer confined in his uniform made her heart leap into her throat. She’d never… seen male anatomy before. Not in person anyway. What was she supposed to do?
Tohru already felt herself panicking even though his manhood was still covered by his underwear. It looked a little funny, if she was honest. He was still wearing his uniform shirt. Swallowing, she gathered as much courage as she could and gripped the material of his shirt.
“Can you… take this off too?”
Kyo’s eyes widened. “Are you serious?”
“Y-You don’t have to! I-I just thought it may make things easier.”
She was so stupid! Of course, he wouldn’t want to move things so quickly. He’d already taken off one article of clothing, and yet there she was asking for more.
Kyo gave her a once over… before leaning back on his haunches and slipping both his uniform and undershirt over his head. He tossed them aside onto the pile on the floor with his trousers. There was a light flush kissing his cheeks as he crawled back over her.
“Better?” he asked, his voice a bit hoarse.
Tohru nodded hesitantly. “Y-Yes.”
There was a gentle gaze in his eyes as he looked over her. With a slight smile, he leaned back in and caught her lips with his own. The kisses were soft at first. Gentle and caring just as he always was. But they once again escalated. Tohru cupped his face as his lips slanted against her own. She really wanted to touch him. Maybe, that was needy of her… but she wanted to so badly.
Her hands drifted lower, along his shoulders first. They were so built and strong and smooth under her touch. Her fingertips ghosted his skin as she traveled downward along his chest. His skin jumped beneath her fingers, but Tohru found that only to spare her on further. When she reached his abs, she admired the taut muscles that were so firm yet so soft. She’d never felt someone else’s skin like this. Never touched someone so intimately. But Kyo’s tender kisses never ceased, so he didn’t seem to have a problem with her exploring.
When she reached the v of his hips, she felt the light dusting of hair along his navel as she brushed his knuckle across it. Gingerly, she dared herself to move forward and keep her promise as she dipped a finger beneath the waistband of his boxers. Kyo’s lips stilled against hers, and Tohru momentarily thought maybe she’d done something wrong, but instead he buried his face in her nape taking a few solid breaths as she touched him.
Tohru continued her journey downward. She brushed past the coarse hairs along his public bone before reaching his length. Cautiously, she took hold of him.
“ Shit, Tohru,” he gasped against her.
“S-Sorr--” her grip began to loosen.
“ Don’t apologize,” Kyo grunted.
Tohru was unsure what to do. She was touching him, but what next? Timidly, she moved her hand along him in slow strokes. His skin was so hot and hard but softer than she imagined. Kyo groaned again before pressing a kiss to her neck, a sensation she hadn’t been expecting at all. The feeling caused her to gasp, squeezing him a little too tightly. He yelped, and Tohru quickly retreated.
She sat up quickly, nearly knocking Kyo off the bed. “Sorry! I’m sorry! I-I don’t know what I’m doing and--”
“Oi, stop it,” Kyo retorted quickly. Sighing, he sat up and pushed himself away from her. “Let’s try this another way. Like yesterday?”
Tohru nodded hesitantly, watching as Kyo shifted and fell onto the bed beside her.
“I’ll lay on my back and you can reach me easier, aight?”
“Okay,” she murmured.
Tohru laid her head on his chest, his skin warm beneath her cheek. Reaching downward, she decided to be just a bit daring and make this easier on both of them movement wise. She tugged his boxers down slightly, revealing his length to the room as it bobbed slightly. Tohru nearly squealed at the sight of it. So strange… Nothing like she thought it’d really look like in person.
“Oi, don’t stare at it,” Kyo squeaked.
Tohru quickly looked up at him seeing his face completely red. “Ah! Sorry.”
“N’ stop apologizin’,” he muttered.
Tohru wanted to do this for him. So she took him gently into her grasp, rubbing the skin gently so as to not hurt him. She heard him sigh above her, and suddenly his hand clasped over her own.
“Like this,” he said and used her hand to stroke himself up and down.
Tohru’s eyes widened at the motion. That wasn’t exactly what she thought was required of her, although, she didn’t know what she expected. He squeezed her fingers around him, causing her to tighten her grip just slightly.
“Yeah,” he breathed, “like that.”
She continued the movements, stroking him from base to tip, following his motions. He released her hand and she continued on without his guidance. She realized that different speeds garnered different reactions. The little soft groans and moans he let out only fueled her desire to pleasure him. As she increased the speed of her movements with a flick of her wrist, she noticed him breathing harder. He panted and whined, making all sorts of sounds she never would have expected to come from the man she loved. Kyo gripped the sheets, teeth clenching. Tohru swallowed at the sight, somehow it only made heat pool in her own gut.
“ Fuck, Tohru.”
Tohru nearly yelped when he came as it took her by surprise, taking her out of her own arousal.. He spilled on his chest and some oozed over her fingers. She tried not to be grossed out. It only made her curious, if anything.
Kyo huffed a breath, sitting up on his elbows. “Sorry, shoulda warned you about that,” he blurted.
“No, no! It’s okay. Wait here, let me get you a towel!”
Tohru quickly left the room, careful not to touch anything with her soiled hand. She washed her hands before grabbing a cloth and soaking it with warm water. When she returned, Kyo hadn’t moved just as she instructed. His amber eyes watched her as she cleaned his essence from his skin. She’d have to wash that cloth carefully. The last thing she wanted was for their housemates to know of their slowly budding intimacy.
When Tohru returned after placing the cloth with the dirty laundry, Kyo had righted his clothes and had apparently gone and grabbed a pair of sweatpants from his room. He lounged on her bed, making Tohru smile as she reentered the room.
“Hey,” he said.
“Hi,” she replied as she slipped onto the mattress beside him.
“You okay? Not scarred for life or anything?”
Tohru giggled at that. “No.”
Kyo pursed his lips for a moment, cheeks pinking a little. “You, uh, need me to touch you too?”
Tohru’s face went hot. “No, no! This was about you, Kyo.”
Snorting, he shook his head. “This isn’t about taking turns, Tohru, it’s about the feelings, right?”
“I guess you’re right… b-but I should get started on dinner soon. But I…” she trailed off, glancing away shyly. “I really liked this. I want to continue, if you don’t mind.”
Kyo smiled slightly. “Yeah, I’d like that.”

Yuki Sohma: An In-depth Character Analysis
I remember getting this anime as a recommendation in summer almost 2 years ago. Right, when the reboot season 1 started. I was so engrossed in this that I can’t tell you. The theme of the series always made me keep at the edge of my seat. And yeah, as the title suggests, I got to admire him the most-
Tumblr media
I know, many of you might think that I fell in love with his beauty after seeing him in the anime for the first time, but unfortunately, it’s a big no. I love the characters who care about others so much. And he is the perfect example.
Now, the point is, what makes him steal the top rank for me while most of the fandom is basically about Kyo and Tohru? Let me put down the points. But before that, grab your earphones or headphones, and play this song as you read about the things he has been through.
youtube
1. His selfless attitude
His kind nature shines throughout the series. We see in the beginning that it was he who discovers Tohru living in a tent. He welcomes her to stay in Shigure’s home, even after knowing that their curse is being put at risk and takes care of her fever. After she sleeps, he ventures out in the night to dig up her belongings. Even though he mentions that he had selfishly taken her just to rebel against the family curse, still this is replaced by his benevolent and sweet nature towards Tohru. As a result, their relationship is beautiful.
Tumblr media
He also has helped her countless times, whether it’s taking her back from her relatives, or lending her hand to carry the grocery bags. These all moments define how pure their bond is and how both trust and care each other.
Tumblr media
2. His willingness to sacrifice everything
This point actually reminds of Kasumi Toshiki from Romance MD: Always on Call. Even though he appears plain on the surface, he can go to any extent just for the sake of her happiness. One instance of this can be from season 2 episode 22. Kyo and Tohru seem to be in the hallway, with Tohru trying to grab the script from his hands. Just then, Yuki says whether they would give him way to go upstairs. It is obvious that Yuki would have seen the whole thing, but for her sake, he doesn’t interrupt. The line he says here is-
“You are precious. I look up to you. I cherish you because you provided for me what I desperately longed for.”
Now what did he yearn for? It was Tohru’s love and affection for him, which he didn’t get from anyone else, not even his mother when he was a child.
Tumblr media
3. The heart-fluttering sweet moments and his character development
Ah! Thanks to the production for such sweet moments of Yuki and Tohru. Even if the ship is not canon, they will still remain my favorite.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In my opinion, this story actually portrays Yuki’s development in character more than any other thing. This is amazing. The boy, who was unable to let go of his dark past, the truth that he was after was covered with a lid, all are slowly untangled with Tohru’s compassionate nature towards Yuki. Unlike the fan club who adored him only for his looks, she sees him in a different, more friendly light, which mellows him up. What’s more, the once timid boy builds up so much courage within himself that he doesn’t get afraid of Akito anymore and confronts her face to face. The warmth he searched for, finally reaches him just like a soft feather, landing on his palm, giving a soft and soothing touch of happiness.
Tumblr media
Let’s look at this background here. Yuki is surrounded by chinese bellflowers, which symbolize honesty, unchanging love and obedience. In his hand lays a white rose, which means, devotion, and innocence. The color white itself and his name are a symbol of peace and silence. This actually is an imagery for his character, and it resembles it truly.
Yuki had no intentions of getting on bad terms with Kyo. But it’s seen in episode 20, that Kyo shouts at him outside the banquet saying it was all his fault. Although he was small, but those words were like a heavy blow to him. What’s more, even when he comes back crying hoping for his mom to console him, she slaps him and warns him not to disappear again. (Noo... T^T)
Tumblr media
(Kyo shouts this to him outside the hall.)
There is some fault with Kyo as well for this point. All Yuki wanted was to become friends with him. He yearned for the parental love and friendship which Kyo had since his childhood. But, the latter has the misunderstanding that Yuki had everything.
Yuki says this when he remembers that Kyo didn’t take the hat from his hand when he gives him. This makes him cry so hard, cause he was just a little child going through these painful things, all at once.
“There was something I wanted. Parents who would embrace me. A home I wanted to return to.”
Tumblr media
(Yuki cries after being ignored by Kyo.)
Even though Kyo’s behavior initially compelled him to be like that, even though he knew that there is a lot Kyo was internally suffering from, but in episode 22, he just couldn’t take it anymore. Instead of debating, he stays silent and shows his most vulnerable and hurt face to Kyo, because he didn’t want things to end up like that between them. He didn’t want the person he admired to lash out at him every time, when he was at no fault at all, and still is the prey of Kyo’s anger and apathy. This only leaves Kyo speechless, making him break the window out of frustration. This part pains me a lot, because Kyo had at least someone he can throw out his anger and put the blame. But Yuki didn’t even had that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is again this pretty imagery here. Yuki, when looking at Kyo, is bathed with the sunlight. This symbolizes the change he has gone through and accepted it, which is really stunning to notice.
[The rest are in paragraph form from here]
Now that I have talked much about his positive points, let’s explore a hot topic which is often a reason of disagreement between Yuki’s fans and Kyo’s fans.
What are Yuki’s actual feelings towards Tohru?
I know that almost all the fandom here will say these feelings which he talks about is what a mother would give to his child. And this point strengthens a lot more as it was confirmed by the author. If that’s the case, then let me state my thoughts on this, which are opposite to the author’s.
Let’s again move back to episode 22 of season 2. In the first half, Yuki talks to  Kakeru about his first meet with Tohru when he was a child. At that time, he was tortured so much by Akito, both physically and mentally, that he thinks that there is no purpose of his life, and he is not needed by anyone at all. With this thought in mind, he disguises himself with a baseball hat and runs away from the Sohma estate. After some time, he discovers Tohru’s mother, Kyoko, crying because she was missing. He suddenly remembers to have seen her earlier, crying in the street, and helps her to reach her mother. At last, he places the hat on her head and disappears. It is later seen that he has converted to his rat form, and cries on realizing that at least at that point, he was needed by Tohru, and his thoughts were proved wrong.
Tumblr media
He mentions that he almost forgot to ask her name at that time. And when he again was hitting the bottom, Tohru approaches him in the high school, slowly building courage and giving love to him. He also discovers later that the girl, whom he once his hat was none other than Tohru. With things unravelling, their bond becomes stronger.
But, although he mentions that he had only motherly affection towards her and couldn’t see her in a romantic light, I still doubt the line itself.
“But she appeared before the hopeless me once again. To be with me, close to me. She even listened to what someone like me had to say. Time after time, she accepted me time and again. She’s beloved to me. Like how the sky feels so close, yet so far.”
Tumblr media
This line, although somehow shows that Yuki is saved by Tohru every time he is in need of it, but it feels weird to say that he only thinks of her as a mother here. I mean, one can also feel like this if he/she is helped by a good friend, or a dear one. And Yuki also mentions that she is beloved to him. But, what about the last line? Doesn’t it sound like, he can’t reach her even if she was close to reach? Because this is the exact meaning. If we analyze word by word, then this makes sense, as Yuki had already realized by that time that Kyo and Tohru had mutual feelings towards each other. In fact, he says it himself that it dawned on him in the last episode of season 1 when Tohru chases after Kyo into the forest, the latter being converted to his monster form. And how could he not? This guy is mature enough to figure out anything. Then this would have been nothing.
One instance of this realization could be the beach arc episode 7 , where he says-
“I probably actually knew, in the back of my mind. What would happen if I opened the lid. What I must do. Thanks for always being willing to lend an ear. Thanks for always accepting my weaknesses.... You probably don’t know that you are the one who’s always saving me. You always shared your kindness, warmth, and joy with me. That’s why, I won’t lose. I will keep going forward, and keep believing.”
Tohru asks the exact thing which was going on my mind listening to that voice acting. Why did he look so sad there? And Yuki replies that she is just like the sky, very dear to him. Doesn’t it sound exactly like a confession to a person about what she did for you till now? Yuki already had realized that, and this is just a proof. He sounds sad, and he also compares her to the sky. The metaphor which comes to mind is that he is basically symbolizing that her vast expanse of kindness is just like the sky, which is so close, yet so far. Even if he wanted, he can’t keep her all to himself. That’s why he just says that she is dear to him. The way it is portrayed here, is just like saying goodbye before parting ways. Huh... I didn’t continue the season afterwards because of this scene. T~T
Tumblr media
(Why, why did he cry after saying that she was dear to him....? Isn’t it right in front of your eyes? *sobs*)
And, if he only sees her as a mother, then what does this mean-
“I was so confused, not to mention incredibly embarrassed. I wasn’t sure how to deal with it, so I didn’t. I shut it away immediately. I stuffed those feelings down, teased and flirted like a normal guy with the girl he likes. But still, it felt wrong.”
It’s clear here. He had somehow developed romantic feelings for her, earlier. But when he realized it was not what he meant, and saw the gradual progression of Tohru and Kyo liking each other, he changes his mind, thinking that he might have been wrong the whole time. That the feelings he harbored for her weren’t correct. But when he thinks of her as a mother, he feels embarrassed. And it’s no different. Why wouldn’t anyone feel like that if it’s someone of your age? This implies that their relationship wasn’t a romantic one, but not a motherly one either.
Kakeru asks the same thing next. He says that maybe he has twisted his thoughts and feelings just after knowing that he had lost her to Kyo. But Yuki denies it saying-
“It’s not true why I feel like this. But, he properly sees her as a woman. He loves her. You can see it in his eyes. Her too. The way she looks at him... But I... I don’t want that! That isn’t what I want! I’d feel... so lonely. I am not willing to give up. I don’t know when to give up.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Such a pure boy... Just cried after saying that... )
Definitely as said above. He is obviously jealous of Kyo here. Not in a romantic way, but because he didn’t want Tohru’s kindness and hope she gave him to recede away. Even if it was like a good friend, he wanted to stay by her side. He is mature enough to see the bonds that she and he shared. And he is not the type to fret over getting rejected or anything like that. Moreover, you can already get a hint from the line that he approved of Kyo and Tohru. This always impresses me. The bond that these two have is so beautiful and unspoken, that it transcends romance itself.
Although this is probably half of my reasonings, I will stop here. Although I covered the most important ones here, but I wanted to discuss many other scenes too. Let’s keep it for next time!

Haha it is I the naeleon gremlin I am here to request more wholesome naeleon content *gremlin noises* Ok but real talk can i request just something sweet and wholesome for naeleon? Thanks :p
hello fellow naeleon gremlin <3
__
Ship: Naeleon
Characters: Leon Kuwata, Makoto Naegi, Kyoko Kirigiri (mentioned), Sayaka Maizono (briefly)
Warnings: n/a
*I'm always a slut for dumbasses in love, non-despair based setting
__
Leon Kuwata was totally, completely fucked over.
He hadn't meant to admit his crush to Sayaka, but she had brought up Makoko and it had maybe slipped that Leon thought he had the prettiest eyes he had ever seen and this his hair looked so soft that he just wanted to touch it. "Oooh, Leon Kuwata do you have a cruuush?" Sayaka dragged out the last word and his already red face went even hotter.
"No! I have no idea what you're talking about!" He blurted, shaking his head. "I don't have a stupid crush on Makoto and you'll never be able to prove that I do, so there!" He stood and speed-walked to the door, closing it behind him. He slumped against the wall and resisted the urge to bang his head into it. Stupid stupid stupid. He couldn't have a crush on Makoto.
He jumped and let out a (if you asked him, very manly) yelp as someone tapped him on the shoulder. "Sorry, Leon! You just looked really red. Are you feeling alright?" Oh of course. Fate was taunting him, making this entire situation as embarrassing as possible just to spite him.
"Yep, i'm totally fine!" He grinned, flashing him a thumbs up. Makoto smiled and Leon couldn't help but silently think it brightened the hallway slightly. "So uh, why're ya over here, didn't you have plans with Kirigiri?" Makoto was almost always hanging out with someone, the boy even liked Byakuya and nobody liked Byakuya. Well, except Toko.
"Yeah! I told her I was free this weekend and she said I should ask if you're free too. Maybe we can do something together!" He looked like an excited puppy, eyes big and sparkly and mouth still curved into that same excited smile. Leon swallowed any nerves he had before he nodded. It would just be a...friend thing, right? They could hang out in the dorms or something, so he let instinct take over as he replied.
"Yeah, i'm free! There's a new cafe down the street, maybe we can go there?" Makoto agreed before someone else called his name and he waved goodbye to Leon before rushing over. The redhead stood there for a moment before it set in that he had basically asked Makoto Naegi on a date. Sayaka was never going to let him live this down.
The next two days passed in a dull blur and before he knew it he was standing in front of that same goddamn cafe he had mentioned. He opened the door and scanned the building. The air smelled like cinnamon and vanilla, tables full of people studying or talking to others. "Leon!" Makoto waved him over to one of the tables near a window.
"Hey, Naegi." He slipped into the chair across from the boy, trying to ignore the feeling of his stomach twisting itself into knots. This was fine, neither of them had even called it a date yet. He looked down at the cup he had been slid and took a sip. He was surprised when the slightly sweet taste of his favorite drink met his tongue. He looked up at Makoto, who's cheeks were a light shade of red.
"Sayaka told me what you like, I hope it's okay." Leon nodded and set his cup back down. "So Leon, what do you like to do? I know you're the Ultimate Baseball Star, but I haven't heard you talk about baseball very much." Makoto sipped his own drink and Leon couldn't help but notice it even smelled sickly sweet. Leave it to the walking ray of sunshine to drink tooth-rottingly sugary drinks.
"I'm not really..interested in baseball. I mean I was, but it's kind of boring to me now. My talent basically made people force me to play, so I'm not that invested in it," he shrugged. "I really like music, though. I want to become a musician instead. That's why I hang out with Sayaka so much, she's helping me learn more about that type of stuff." He finished talking before taking another sip of his drink.
"I think you'd make a good musician, Leon." The redhead almost choked on his drink as Makoto leaned onto his hand. "I mean, if you don't like your Ultimate you shouldn't have to keep going down that path." Oh god he was perfect. Sayaka could make fun of him all she wanted, he was completely smitten.
The next few hours seemed to pass too quickly. Leon learned that Makoto was a dog person, he believed in lucky objects like clovers, his favorite color was green, and that he was trying to help Byakuya not be as much of a dick to other people but it wasn't really...working. Every sentence just helped Leon confirm he liked this dork who enjoyed overly sweet coffee and saw the best in everyone.
By the time they had finished and gotten back to Hope's Peak, his nerves had melted away and they were laughing over stupid jokes as they approached the dorms. "Oh, this is mine." Makoto stopped in front of the door. "I had a really good time, Leon." There was something unreadable in the green hues of Makoto's eyes as he addressed the baseball star.
"I did too, Makoto," he replied. Makoto paused for a moment before leaning in to kiss the redhead on the cheek. He thanked him again before disappearing into his dorm, the door closing behind him. Leon raised a hand to press his fingers to the spot, face hot as he swallowed heavily. So Makoto...liked him back then? Cool. Cool. This was fine, he wasn't freaking out at all!
He turned to go freak out in his own dorm but froze when he saw Sayaka's cheshire cat grin. "I don't have a crush on Makoto, Sayaka! You'll never prove that I do!" She mocked in a poor imitation of his voice. He groaned and buried his face in his hands as she continued to tease him.
He was never living this down.

A/N: i really love thinking about homura and sayaka's relationship, whether its romantic, platonic, or if they're enemies. they're honestly the most interesting relationship in the series for me. especially after rebellion. i can't wait to see what the upcoming movie will do with them.
this isn't really meant to be a ship thing but if you want you can interpret it that way.

“Even if that happens, the one thing I'll never forget is that you, Akemi Homura, are a demon!”
It had been a few months since Homura Akemi rewrote the universe. By now, Sayaka’s memories were fuzzy. She only had the vaguest idea of being a magical girl and helping Madoka when she was a Goddess. But other than that, she didn’t remember anything much. Any time she tried to remember, all that would manifest were headaches. And sometimes these got so bad that she had to stay at home from school.
She had managed to befriend Madoka Kaname, the transfer student. Something about her made her feel nostalgic. Like she was meeting an old friend after a long time. She couldn’t explain these feelings.
Sayaka and Kyoko were living together. As far as she was concerned, Sayaka had a good life. She had a good house, good friends, and went to a good school. She had everything she ever wanted.
So why did all of this feel so…. wrong??
There was one student in her school Sayaka had always been suspicious of. That being Homura Akemi. She pretended to be on good terms with her. Homura would even help with her homework if asked. But something about her just felt…. off to Sayaka. It didn’t help that she was especially possessive of Madoka. Sayaka could never talk to her for more than five minutes because Homura would always drag her away.
That’s right, Homura always felt off to Sayaka but she could never put her finger on it. Until one day, she did.
It came in the form of a dream. Homura Akemi, lying unconscious on a table, while Madoka, an elegant Goddess, came down from the skies to take her away. Sayaka was in her carriage, along with a little white haired girl. When Madoka reached out, Homura suddenly grabbed her and pulled her from the skies, splitting her in two. Madoka begged her to stop or Homura would tear her apart, but she didn’t. The universe was rewritten according to Homura’s will.
Now she remembered! Homura Akemi was a demon! And the world was rewritten according to her.
What should she do with this information?
Well, wasn’t it obvious? She should tell Madoka!
So during school that day, she asked Madoka to meet her behind the school building after class. Madoka wasn’t sure why but she agreed.
Classes ended. Madoka met with Sayaka as promised.
“What did you want to talk about?” asked Madoka.
“Don’t you feel that there’s something wrong with this world?” asked Sayaka. “That something is…. Out of place?”
“What are you talking about? Everything’s normal. I’m exactly where I should be” said Madoka.
“Are you sure? Because this world…. something’s off about it” said Sayaka.
Madoka looked around.
“Everything’s perfectly fine. Though if I’m being honest….. whenever I talk to you, I get this feeling of nostalgia. Like I’m meeting an old friend for the first time in a while. Even though as far as I know, I’ve only known you when I transferred here.....”
“See? I get that feeling when I talk to you too” said Sayaka.
“And…. somehow I seem to know exactly where everything is in this town, even though I only came here two months ago…”
“Yeah, yeah! Anything else?”
“And these ribbons. Homura only gave them to me when I first transferred here but it feels like I’ve owned them forever. Maybe I….”
Madoka pondered over it for a while.
“Yes… I remember now. I’m not supposed to be here, am I? The thing that feels off about this world is…. Me.”
Her eyes turned golden, the ribbons on her hair came off. The environment around them changed. They were no longer behind the school building but in space.
“That’s right! Keep remembering!” Sayaka encouraged her.
“I’m a part of the Law of Cycles. And I’m…. not supposed to be in this world.”
Suddenly, Madoka felt a tug from behind. Hands clasped her waist, and soon she and Sayaka were behind the school building again. It was Homura.
“You’re wrong,” said Homura. “I’ve told you before. You’re exactly where you belong. So don’t you ever think that.”
“Homura-chan…”
“Now, go home. Your family must be waiting for you.”
“Right.”
Madoka went on her way home after saying goodbye to Sayaka and Homura. Once she was gone, Homura turned to Sayaka.
“You’ll always be a thorn in my side, won’t you?” Homura said.
“I said I wouldn’t forget that you’re a demon, and I haven’t forgotten” Sayaka fumed.
She summoned Oktavia von Seckendorf.
“No matter what I’ll defeat you and restore this world to how it was!” she said.
“And how will you do that? Do you think a powerless girl like you can go up against a demon?”
Homura snapped her fingers and Oktavia disappeared. Sayaka’s head started to ache. She held her head in her hands and fell to the ground.
“Pathetic” Homura said.
“No…. I…. won’t give up…. I won’t lose…. to the likes of you!”
Sayaka actually transformed into her magical girl form. She summoned her sword.
“I see you’ve regained your magical girl form. I was not expecting that, but its interesting nonetheless.”
“I’m not losing to a demon!” Sayaka snapped. “I…. I will defeat you. Just you wait!”
She lunged forward with her sword. Homura grabbed it and turned it at her.
“You’ve got to try harder than that, Miki Sayaka” Homura mocked her.
“You think that’s the only one I have?”
Sayaka summoned another sword. Hers clashed with the one Homura currently had. They fought like this for a while. After some time, Sayaka was able to break Homura’s sword.
“Hah! I got you!” she exclaimed.
“Not so fast!” Homura said.
She clapped her hand and suddenly, Sayaka was out of her magical girl form.
“Did you really think you could go up against me like that?” asked Homura.
“I… I will defeat you… I…”
“Your determination is admirable, Miki Sayaka. But it is useless.”
Homura clapped again. Vines appeared from the ground and wrapped around Sayaka.
“You think this will phase me?” Sayaka asked. “I…. I’ll restore the Law of Cycles…. restore Madoka to her previous form… and…”
The vines wrapped tighter around Sayaka. It took everything for her to not scream and wince in pain. She wasn’t going to give Homura the satisfaction that she had hurt her.
“Do not speak of Madoka,” said Homura. “She is happy with her family now. She gets to be a normal human being.”
“Madoka wanted to be a Goddess. She wanted to save everyone. She wanted to save you! And this is what you do to her?”
“Giving her a happy, normal life? How horrible, right?” Homura said.
“Stop being sarcastic!” Sayaka snapped. “You had no right to pull her from the heavens like that!”
“And who do you think you are to talk?” Homura asked. “When I became a Witch, wasn’t it you who said that the Witch who wanted a normal life for her friends wasn’t so horrible? What made you change your mind, Miki Sayaka?”
“I…. that was different!” Sayaka said.
“I simply did what you said. Why are you complaining?”
“Because it isn’t right!”
“You were always concerned about what was right, weren’t you?”
Homura clapped again and Sayaka winced. Her head started to ache.
“Ms Saotome gave us a bunch of homework due tomorrow. You have to do it instead of picking a fight with me. This is why you’re always behind. But anyways, what you need is a nice nap. Good night, Miki Sayaka.”
Homura clapped for the last time and everything faded to black.
“Sayaka! Sayaka, wake up!”
Sayaka sat up groggily and rubbed her eyes.
“What… happened?” she asked.
“You slept through the entire day, lazybones” Kyoko said. “Now come on, or we’ll be late for school.”
Sayaka stood up and did her usual morning routine- brushed her teeth, showered, had breakfast and dressed in her school uniform. She rushed to school with Kyoko. Her memories of what happened the previous day were fuzzy.
“Good morning Akemi-san” Kyoko said.
“Good morning Sakura-san, Miki-san.”
Sayaka stared at her for a while.
“Good morning” she said.
“Did you get a good sleep?” Homura asked.
“Yeah…. Yeah I did.”
With that, she rushed inside the school before the first bell could ring.
