ok but if by the time you meet him, Wyll fully KNOWS he could squid out at any moment, why are his priorities aligned as such:

Teach refugees to fight and defend the Grove (a populated area with a distinct lack of people with sufficient levels to cope with a sudden mindflayer in their midst and no forewarning)

Fulfill Mizora's mission (to, as far as he knows, deal with a demon that could be wrecking havoc but no moreso than a mindflayer could)

Find a cure.

It's as though he's in denial about his situation, or like his image as The Blade(tm) is more important to him than his own safety and the safety of anyone around him.

It's so confusing. Ugh. Wyll's story is so chopped up that I can't even get a good read on who this guy is supposed to be in the first place.
