despite the fact that the lyrics probably look Cringe on paper, there's more genuine Emotion and effort in gg songs like divide my heart and crawl than like half of the stuff people irony poisoned on twitter afraid of looking cringe listen to if we're being fully honest. like idk if you're so allergic to saying something beautiful and true that you're resorting to "haha the singer pronounces things funny lmao engrish" you kinda really suck for that ngl

OOKAY IVE BEEN THINKING.
should you kill the "leader" of a team first or last? the leader in this case just being the most well known or the one everyone takes commands from. so y'know.. leader stuff. to set the scene, say.. there's a group of like four or five people, and they've been caught together or are in some sort of deadly situation. they're all going to die one way or another, but which way would fuck them up emotionally the most? .. torture aside. i'm picturing a shot to the head or something. would it be to, A: kill the leader first. or B: kill the leader last?
here are MY thoughts! feel free to add onto this or reblog or whatever. i'm really curious as to what you guys think!! they're all down there cause i don't want to make this too long.,
killing the leader first could symbolize the end of the team, like a bad omen or something idk. cause it would be pretty fucked up to see the person you've looked up to or been working with, who time and time again has made it out of things alive and taken charge to make sure everything's okay, just.. die. right in front of you, like their life never meant anything, and there's nothing you could do about it. like., you love your leader, huh? TOO BAD!! shoots them in the head
HOWEVER, killing the leader last would be pretty fucked up as well. because they'd be seeing the people they've devoted their time and resources and emotions to, just *splat*. gone! it would be pretty soul crushing to see your best friends and allies in their last moments, knowing that you failed them, and it was your decisions that led up to their deaths. and by the time the leader dies, they're glad. because they wouldn't have anything to live for anyways
SO!! i think it depends on who you want to inflict this pain onto, but either way, they're all gonna die. i may or may not have started thinking about this because of the killjoys,.. totally not aha..

i hate………it when my loves’s patterns look like they are mere expressions of a preexisting and underlying platonic ideal i Actually love…..there was a post i saw asking if ppl had any kinks that they only had specifically in the context of doing it at or with one specific person, the implication and responses suggested this was very strange and unusual and it made me realize……nearly .all my kinks are like this—i do not have a kink for x, and merely want someone who is able to fulfill it. i have a kink for ‘doing x with this one specific person who is not interchangeable with any other person on earth who has ever lived.’ same with broader contexts of relationships—i don’t want to be looking for someone who fits Into a preexisting slot for me, i am not into a particular 'type' of thing and looking for real things that can fill—or mimic, live up to, sort of approximate—that role. that is not me! that is so not me!
sure there are obviously some patterns but that’s different, that’s only after the fact. the encounters are what create the pattern in me in the first place. my loves — in ideas, stories, etc — are not ‘oh this is an Example of the preexisting Thing i want’. they are things that i encountered that caused some kind of reaction in my electron bonds that cause me to stick to it and become a slightly different shape, and sure some of that is only possible because of what i am, but mostly it’s that once i have encountered this thing that reshapes my electron bonds and sticks to me, then i also become capable of sticking to similar things, or completely different things i wasn't able to stick to before, sometimes due to convoluted associations, often transcending the association after a bit and connecting with the other things independently of it. i have a really really hard time not reflexively — even just in my own brain—‘justifying’ my loves and patterns by trying to make up an underlying preexisting Empty Slot in the way other people do — trying unthinkingly to explain and come up with ‘a type’ (preexisting) that this one singular particular one-of-a-kind thing or person is just a mere example of/fitting candidate for—but it’s a lie when i do this. it’s lying to myself, and lying to others. i think i have done it on this blog before. but it’s ugly, and untrue, and not me.

a thing i have JUST realized, isn't the human brain amazing lol -- is that we talk about izzy's thoughts and feelings on ed, on blackbeard, about how he serves one but not the other, etc, etc, and how it means he never loved or even respected the True Man Underneath It All but rather the bloodthirsty legend of a pirate--
e x c e p t izzy is not the first person who makes the distinction between edward and blackbeard. it's ed himself, when he says "actually, i want to be called edward from now on".
before, when he was with stede, it didn't bother him at all that the crew called him blackbeard. that was his name! he was blackbeard, what else would they call him. only stede and izzy got to "ed" or "edward" him, because they were closer -- stede was his first close friend, izzy was his friend and first mate for decades. (note that fang was with ed the longest, but he doesn't call him by his name! you gotta deserve it.)
izzy doesn't do anything inappropriate or out of proportion when he snaps at the crew to call him blackbeard or captain -- that's who ed is, is supposed to be, to them. they're not friends! they even call stede captain, and have you seen that guy?
it's ed that makes the connection between his current state: draped in fuchsia robes, singing sad songs about how sad he is, showing his vulnerable and emotional state in front of people who are supposed to respect and trust his authority. and by that he splendidly loses that authority, to the point that wee john calls him ed, and when izzy snaps at him for disrespecting his captain, ed goes no, actually, yknow what, do call me edward! and then he goes on to encourage the crew to sing as well and hey, actually, why are we being pirates! we should do a talent show!
the distinction is clear here. before all that, in izzy's eyes, his boss was blackbeard, captain, ed/edward -- different names for different occasions, but one and the same guy. but now? this guy singing songs in a pink bathrobe doesn't want to be called blackbeard, he's edward! ed time now! we're going to eat marmalade and express our feelings in front of everyone! and hold talent shows! Ya Hoo !
yeah, it's no wonder izzy doesn't want that. he wants his competent captain back, and this current dude, edward? he's not him. so, uh,

“ Captain Beidou! ” Excitedly, the pinkette waves her hands to greet the other. It was exciting to meet the warrior once more, it’s been a long time. A couple of weeks but she never forgot the sight so gorgeous as the bravery that the woman portrayed before her while protecting her crew. The tales of Beidou’s adventures were already all heard by the woman of crystals and heaven, she was delighted to meet the other again. Her memory did not miss the noble soul such as this one! How could she? Such people are one of the reasons the world is so beautiful, so bright, so colorful, so cheerful. One of the heroes, she will be remembered as a legend. A beautiful, strong, and unbreakable force of the sea. “ Welcome back to Liyue! I’m so glad I got to see you once again! How was your travel across the sea this time? Hehe, your crew said that you saved them yet once again, but I really want to hear it from you if you’re not busy! ”
