No because Jonathan Byers breaking down and telling Will that he failed him and that he should have been home and he couldn’t save him. He failed Will. But Will just telling him that he saved him. Every day Jonathan Byers stuck up and protected his brother and gave Will the tools to protect himself in the Upside Down. Jonathan never failed Will. Not in Will’s mind

we know the duffers take alot of influence from dawson's creek
WELL!!!!!
Jack is one of the gay characters from that show and eventually he gets into a relationship with doug and based on the DC wiki, they are still together
so if the duffers are getting influence from DC and if DC ended with Jack and Doug together, it would only be logical that mike and will are going to end up together too !
also, and this is probably a stretch but the character names are Jack McPhee & Doug Witter: M for Mike and W for Will !!!!!!

actually no bc I need to see el actually chasing a screaming and crying angela around the roller rink, fists fucking flying bc she’s sick of being bullied. this only works if will is on the floor grappling with one of those boys who tried to help angela and mike is hobbling around the edge of the rink holding onto the wall for dear life while shouting at everyone to stop a là kat when maddy ran up on stage. like I need el to be dragged onto that rink and be pushed to the brink without her powers and just go ‘oh bet?’ And unleash her full lab rat unsocialised lack of restraint self on that bottle blonde bitch

(Sorry if it's disorganized, I was in train of thought and I'm too lazy to fix)
Remember the theory between Will and Mike? Being yellow and blue. No one mentions the fact that yellow and blue are good combination of colors and are described as COMPLEMENTARY.
And something lit up in my mind. I remembered, El uses Will's clothes. And most of the scenes El was in, she was wearing Will's (except the time she was in the Lab and the time she almost defeated Vecna.)
And everytime they matched their colors, It was Will's clothes that matched Mike's.
In Rink-o-mania
Dinner table with the Byers and Murray
Even if Mike changes his clothes, he still complements Will.
(Of course I'm not sure if they are Will's clothes, the only proof why I think it's Will's is because he was described for wearing plaid and stripes)
And I know for sure, that El's clothing is different. SPEAKING OF CLOTHES! I remembered that El to copies and follows whatever clothes she sees from the people around her.
In s1 from Mike
S2 from Kali
S3 from Hopper
S4 from the Byers
She copied and wore whatever from byers, and thats where I noticed the pattern. Conformity. I know someone already said this but I my point is in the last episode of S4 after Max had a coma. Jane wasn't wearing something that resembles from her surroundings or something given to her.
Max's near death and memories together (especially Max's advice) triggered El's courage to finally choose what she can do. It wasn't clearly expressed in the S4, I mean EVERYTHING was not explicit. I swear I can't trust the Duffers anymore but I think they are really saying something. That her change in her clothing is a BIG sign to Jane's will to finally change. To take Max's advice.
(LMAO I LOST TRACK THERE)
