Meet Ghoullio Junior! I figure if I'm going to be live-blogging my new game+ playthrough it'd be good to a do a little intro for my beloved bun. Get ready for lore
Ghoullio was raised with the name Havi in a village not far from the edge of the forests of Othard, where the trees started to thin. As such, his village and the Viera in it were among the first line of defense when it came to protecting the forests. They took this responsibility very seriously, in their words they defended not just their own people but all living things in the forest from the dangers of the outside world. All boys brought to the village were trained to be soldiers from the time they could hold a spear.
Havi was not a fighter. Not yet. He was a sensitive boy, often caught reading when he was meant to be training, or hiding away crying after (badly) losing a spar. The men of his village thought he was weak and uncommitted, and he came to be shunned by them. He was alone, without anyone to call a friend, until he was in his teens. Until he met Dora.
Theodora was from a village not far from Havi's. She was a year or two older than Havi, and she was an outcast, too. She told Havi that she had tried to leave her village and become a City Viera. But on her own, she was helpless. She was forced to return, bloodied and starving, to her village and beg to be taken back. She doubts they would've agreed, but Dora's healing abilities made her valuable. They took her back, but ever since they've treated her with barely-veiled hatred in every interaction.
Havi and Dora, both desperate for a place to belong, quickly became like brother and sister to each other. Over the years, Havi would go to the edge of the village and hang out with Dora, and eventually they started going out and exploring the forest together. Dora taught Havi some basic healing magic, and Havi taught Dora what he had managed to pick up in martial training. Dora often joked about running away again, but having a *real* go at it this time, since there were two of them now. Havi would laugh, but every time she said it, it felt less like a joke.

It was Emma's first time at the Moonfire Faire. She had been suggested by a friend to check the event out and before her stood a daunting challenge; The Eorzean Nimble Warrior course..
She had watched people taking part in the year before, but she hadn't gotten the nerve to take part, until now. Her drive to conquer her fears; was in the form of a white happi with black and red print. It hung at the reward stand, the material fluttering in the wind as if taunting her.
"I can do this" she breathed shakily. She didn't have a fear of heights persay, but she wasn't the most nimble footed of her peers when it came to acrobatic display. That talent was most definitely held by her good friend Sarangerel whom had been the one to convince her to take part. And when I say convince, I more mean suggest. It was that White Moonfire Happi that really was the tugging force to get her to take part.
....
"Well, maybe I can't do this" Emma was swimming her way back to shore, having been caught off guard by one of the course's placed Bombard and had been blown clean off. Thankfully, with the course being built over the Costa Del Sol waters, it was a harmless fall bar her ego anyway.
As she pulled herself out from the water, a miqo'te staff member offered a hand, which she gratefully accepted as she stepped onto the beach. "Do you want to try again?" She offered Emma, sweeping an arm in gesture back towards the Nimble Warrior course.
"I think one fall was enough to me" admitted Emma, giving a long sigh as she glanced back towards the reward stand. "I wish I could though"
Following Emma's gaze back to the reward stand, then back to Emma, the Miqo'te gave her a comforting smile. "You know, there is another way to earn tickets this year. We also have a Fishing and Culinary Challenge available to earn single tickets with."
Emma's eyes lit up at the mention of fishing. She had been learning to fish alongside Sarangerel earlier that year, and it had proved a relaxing past time between all the high octane adventures. It had suited Emma to just kick back from time to time and just take in the sun whilst waiting for the fish to bite. "Thank you!" she eventually said, after she was done reminesquing her past. She dug out her trusty pop-up fishing rod from her satchel, and strode off towards the nearby pier to take on the fishing challenge.
This was how Emma came to obtain what would be the focus of her main attire, that she would wear for many years to come.

Prompt #2 - The Seven Umbral Calamity
Tumblr media
<Takes place before the events of A Realm Reborn>
Bolt - ‘a sudden dash, run or flight’
——————————
The sky above was clouded and dark with streaks of fire and smoke covering the once peaceful blue. The terrifying sight filled Katsum’s eyes as she found herself frozen in place, gripping Soldier’s reins tightly to keep the horse still. One moment, it had been a beautiful, peaceful day with only a few clouds dotting the air. That singular and ever strange red moon too had been floating far above the ground, but it had been there for ages. Only recently had it begun to grow closer and closer to the ground, but this…
Fiery storm clouds swirled around the red moon in the distance, huge bolts of lightning sparking off of it as it descended lower and lower. Though it was falling far across the sea from them, the energy coming off of it was enough to make the waves cease their crashing on the shore she stood on and all the birds and animals of the forest go silent.
“KATSUM!” The blonde’s cat-like ears twitched as she tore her gaze from the sky up the hill to see her friend, Criston, atop his horse looking at her in panic, “Come on! We have to get back to the castle!”
Before she could respond, the earth rumbled with a great shake, both horses struggling to stay on their feet. The two youths watched a bright light explode from the red moon and shooting bolts of fire flew from it in all directions. Lightning struck the flying debris and some of the burning projectiles began falling through the sky toward them.
Katsum’s eyes widened and her ears fell back in fear. She twisted Soldier’s reins and wheeled him around with a swift, terrified kick to his sides, “RUN!!”
Without another moment of thought, the young stallion bolted forward, adrenaline filling his lungs and muscles as Katsum clung to his mane and they followed after Criston’s horse at a full-out sprint. Streaks of light flew overhead and behind them, the smaller, faster pieces of burning rock falling all around; through the trees, against the rocky hillside, and into the sea, a loud hiss echoing after the water engulfed them. The two horses ran side by side now, and the elezen and miqo’te youths huddled close to their horses, glancing all about to swerve away from the incoming burning debris. Soon the trees began to give way to the castle town in the distance and they spurred their horses onward as the spark of hope shone before them.
A loud hissing behind them made Katsum look back just in time to cry out, “WATCH OUT! MOVE!” And they separated as a boulder-sized piece of debris flew past them and smashed into the dirt ahead of them. Bits of grass, sand, and rock flew into the air, and Katsum and Soldier banked right to avoid it, skirting around the flaming shard to race towards the castle town gate. Katsum’s knuckles were white and she found it hard to breathe, gripping her horse’s sides tighter as she saw the guards waving to her to hurry. She saw one of them point at something in the sky behind her and she glanced back to see a very large meteor-sized piece of debris blotting out the sky as it fell towards her. There was nothing she could do; it was impossibly fast and it was clear Soldier was not going to outrun it nor have time to get out of the way. She fell upon her horse’s neck and closed her eyes, holding onto him tightly as he ran on and waited for the impact.
Suddenly, a roar split the silence in half as a bolt of flame shot the falling rock and blew it to pieces, the threat now only small hand-sized rocks that fell around Katsum and Soldier harmlessly. A darting shadow passed over them and Katsum looked up at the red blur that passed by and flew into the clouds around the castle and town. The red-scaled creature shot every comet and falling piece of debris that was headed for the kingdom’s town, rendering each one that threatened to fall on the city to ashes and pebbles. The young girl was stunned, wide-eyed, and felt a spark of excitement fill her heart. It was a dragon! A real, living dragon! And not just any dragon, but THE dragon! The very dragon who was painted on every banner and flag of the kingdom; the Crimson Prince of Thunder. She wanted to watch him, but her stallion whinnied. She reluctantly tore her gaze from the soaring dragon to follow his gaze to the safety of the castle gates and the knights and guards waving to her.
It was then she heard the panicked voices of her parents, and she locked eyes with her father who now stood in front of the guards, his red fur and bristling tail unmistakable, and beside him her mother, the blonde woman with a look of relief.
“Come on Katsum! Spur him on again! Quickly!” Her father called to her, and she listened, giving Soldier another kick as he jumped into a faster gait. The sound of hooves beside them let her know that Criston and his horse had made their way back beside them and she spared him a glance to make sure he was alright. Passing through the tall stone gates, the two horses skidded to a stop, their sides heaving and sweat beading off of them.
With shaking hands and legs, Katsum fell into her mother and father’s arms as they reached up to pull her into their embrace. Her mother cried into her shoulder as she hugged her and her father held Soldier’s reins. Katsum saw Criston’s family doing much the same for him, and they all breathed a little easier now to be in the safety of the castle town walls.
The creak of the iron gate made everyone turn to watch it and the drawbridge began to close, the fiery skies still raining burning comets as the red dragon flew over and roared again, battling the skies to keep them all safe from the calamity that now fell upon the earth.

FEBHYURARY XI: RAID
Acrid smoke lingers heavily on her tongue. Ash chokes her lungs, searing the insides. Her blue and gold uniform is stained and torn. Aymeric’s scarf—a parting gift, was it that long ago now?—trails in the wind, its tattered hem fluttering pathetically behind her. The raid came quickly, overwhelming them in minutes. She is furious she didn’t see the signs beforehand. And so, battered and bruised, her eye stinging from blood that drips from a forehead wound, she stakes her broken lance into the ground and pushes herself up onto one knee.   The monster—impossible in his strength, his size, his speed, an enigma forged of blood and steel—approaches her from behind. Slow, methodical, each step foretelling her doom. But he is not a monster, not to her. For she knows exactly what man lies beneath that armour and she hoped she would never encounter him on the battlefield. Fool.   She knows exactly what face lurks beneath that helmet. She had the dubious honour of fighting the crown prince many years ago—a test of strength and a battle of wills to prove the worth of her fellow savages. When their contest ended in a draw, he told her the memory of their fight had seared itself on him like a brand. Permanent and eternal. Few managed to make such an impression. Her reward? Sanction for her unit to operate—a unit she would later massacre during her defection. Does he still remember? When he glimpses her unmasked face, what will he see? Eorzea’s champion or the Garlean defector? Both? Neither? She licks her dry lips, tasting salt and iron, and hefts her lance, the first embers of vengeance flickering in her heart. It will not end here. In crimson it began… and in black it will be complete.

WoL Question(s)!
Is your WoL/OC a student of Sharlayan? What is their field of study? Are they an Archon or are they still working on it (or are they even interested in being one)? Are they a good, hardworking student or do they forget to do their homework and fall asleep in class?
If your WoL/OC isn't a student, what would the hypothetical answers to those questions be?

so I realised I never really introduced my Warrior of Light..
this is Aren, a 23yo male Veena viera. he left his homeland because of a dream he had of the mother crystal and of eorzea. he doesn't recall his original name, and due to all that's gone on since he first arrived he remembers next to nothing of his life before eorzea.
he's madly in love with g'raha, loves teasing alisaie (who he considers his baby sister), and is just such a sweetheart. he's kind, caring and always willing to give people the chance to do and be better. urianger and thancred are like dads to him, especially thancred, and he calls them dad (urianger) and tiny dad (thancred).
after all he's been through, he's still such a sweet boy and he and raha deserve all the happiness in the world ;3;

Prompt #17 - Kurenai’s Secret
Tumblr media
Novel - ‘of a kind not seen before; new; original’
——————————
She had to know the truth. The fearful look in the eyes of the fishermen when she’d turned to look at them after killing that beast…the fire that had come seemingly out of nowhere…It scared her just much as it had scared the men.
Now beneath the waves of the Ruby Sea again, Kaede kept her eyes to the sand below her feet, walking briskly through Sui-no-Sato in search of the princess. Every person she passed, their eyes followed her, could just hear their whispers as they kept their distance. Kaede’s fingers clenched, keeping her head down and trying to ignore the voices she heard talking about her. She found the red-haired auri woman before long talking with a couple of men. They had their backs turned towards her, and when she caught what they were talking about, she was glad of it.
“My lady we saw it! We saw that dragon appear on the beach! You cannot tell us this is some wild story! We know it was her!”
Kaede stopped in her tracks and hid behind a covered stall before she could think better of eavesdropping. She didn’t want to listen in to someone’s conversation like this…but something else also would not let her move away.
She listened as Kurenai spoke then, “Please, I realize your worries, but she means us no harm. She has lived with us for years and helped protect us from danger. In all those years, has she harmed a single person here?”
“Well…no…” One of them answered somberly.
“We’ve never seen her turn back into a dragon before either!” The auri man who spoke before responded, “Even once is too far, Lady Kurenai. We saw the flames consume the beast she fought with, and watched its body burn until nothing but ashes remained while flames still licked at the beach around it, blackening the sand. Should one come to harm, it would mean death. Please, you must speak to the Ruby Princess about this. See if she has a solution. Perhaps keeping her to protect the palace of Shisui, where all would be safe then!”
Right, few people in Sui-no-Sato knew that Kurenai was the true Ruby Princess. Still, to hear them ask her to lock her away in the depths…Kaede’s hands shook anxiously as her chest tightened. She put a hand over her heart trying to hold herself together.
“All would be safe? You ask to lock someone away like a criminal. A request like that made for someone who has done nothing is quite…novel in a very wrong way, sir,” Kurenai sighed, “But I will speak to the princess and see what she has tto say. Until then, please do not spread fear throughout the village. Kaede has done nothing wrong. She knows nothing of the dragon. I am sure this was an accident so please trust that I will see to this issue and see it resolved. Please, do not treat her any differently. Please.”
Kaede heard the more excited man sigh, “I cannot promise anything after what I saw, my lady, but I will try.”
“Thank you. Please come to me with any concerns and I will do what I can to ease your worries.”
The two men’s weight shifted in a turn and Kaede pressed further into the shadows to hide as they passed by. She watched them walk by and struggled to take a step forward out of the shade to look for the princess.
Kurenai stepped around the stall in front of her and startled her before she could move though, her widened blue eyes finding the princess’s as Kurenai looked at her sadly.
“I’m sorry you heard that, Kaede. It was not at all fair of them to ask such cruelty.” She said, bowing her head, “I know nothing was your fault. It is my fault…not yours…”
Kaede’s voice shook as her hands still trembled, “Princess, what…who am I really? Please…what they said about what happened on the beach…it’s true but I didn’t…I don’t know what came over me. I was fighting the beast when I was injured and suddenly I was surrounded by fire…and I felt like my skin was burning…but I didn’t…I didn’t do that myself. I…” She closed her eyes to keep the tears from falling, “I have dreams every night of flying…of falling and sinking into the waves…but I am not myself. I am…I…I am so lost, princess…”
“Kaede,” She felt Kurenai lay a hand on her shoulder to comfort her, “I am…so sorry…I’ve wanted to tell you the truth for so long, but at the elders’ behest, I could not. Now though, I will tell you everything. Starting with your name.”
Kaede looked up at her through teary eyes in confusion, “What do you mean?”
“Your name is not Kaede truly. Your name…is Kadlin.”
At the sound of the name, a shot of pain ran through the blonde au ra’s mind and she grimaced. Suddenly the name Kaede was not familiar at all, but Kadlin…it felt like her soul in a name.
Kurenai smiled sadly seeing the change in her eyes and gestured for her to follow, “Come, let us find somewhere more private to talk, and I will tell you the entire truth, Kadlin. I promise.”

Tumblr media
behold. zhati and sperm donor when they were young… zhati's one hell of a lancer who mentored him in the ways of fighting hunting and survival but kind of forgot to teach him to be a decent person. her relationship with zhati'a is not the best but they're on talking terms as of endwalker. it's complicated. as for his father i dont think male mooncats have too many incentives to be involved in their children's lives with the way they live… so he's probably never going appear in his life
