I love how PM keeps playing with tropes. We've seen the tropes that they deconstruct within Limbus (in fact, it is a theory of mine that each Sinner is based on a stereotypical character from gachas), the way that they pick up the cyberpunk trope and basically throw it across the room, but another huge one is...
Carmen.
Look. I think that Carmen was and is based on the traditional 'Mary Sue'. Because...well, some traits that are said to belong to the 'Mary Sue', are turned brilliantly on their head by PM. So, for typical 'Mary Sue' traits, there's:
Pretty in the traditional sense. 'Mary Sues' always look perfect, peerless and never have to work hard to maintain their image. While, as far as I know, there hasn't really been made an in-universe compliment on Carmen's physical appearance...you'd rather stop and listen to someone who at least looks like they can be trusted wouldn't you? She's likened to the sun, as Oswald called her that, and is inside the light. (Also, out-of-universe: she is certainly pretty in my eyes. She adheres to the modern beauty standards at the very least).
Related to the above: charming. The 'Mary Sue' often has an innate charm that attracts others to her. The way that Carmen has this is through her voice, which already was powerful enough to let her traverse the dangerous Backstreets unarmed, standing out from all those other Backstreets preachers somehow and draw in the most cynical noblemen, but is even more charming after death. She doesn't even need to give a breaking speech or anything, as we've seen, she just gives you questions and comments on things. Which falls in line with...
Powerful, yet without having to break a sweat. Even before dying, she was already drawing in people without having to get physical (at least, none we know of). The only time we fight her as of yet (Kether realisation), Angela needs to use an attack that depletes all her HP to win, after five phases have already passed.
The 'Mary Sue' is often a so-called spotlight stealer. She will have a major role in the story, inexplicably, at least one other character will fall in love with her and she will overall have a large presence. So far, Carmen is the only character who has appeared in all three of the games, and if you count the Distortion and the Library, she has influenced WonderLab, Leviathan and Distortion Detective as well. She was also relevantly connected to the main cast of LobCorp and has influenced most of them in some way (i.e Ayin, Angela, Giovanni, arguably Kali, etc.). She remains to be relevant to several major story turns and has left her mark in them, in some way.
Unusual eyes. It's a stereotype that 'Mary Sues' always have unusual eyes. A common type is heterochromia (which is why I often jokingly call Hong Lu a 'Mary Sue'), but other types exist like sparkly rainbow or them changing like a mood ring or something. Carmen has red eyes, which are a common side-effect of body enhancements (Vergilius had them and the R Corp pack leaders too)...except, as we said, for as far as we know, Carmen hasn't had any. They are also a trait of Bloodfiends, but she isn't (yet) confirmed to be one. Either way, red eyes are a sign of the not-weak in the City.
Oftentimes, 'Mary Sues' are referred to as divinity, as pure grace from an utmost high all-powerful deity. They may or may not even be that deity. With Carmen, she practically had a cult of personality around her when she was alive...and she also had an analogue in another pale-skinned, red-eyed being that is also treated like this. She was described as this paeon of altruism and someone who genuinely wants the best for humanity.
Meaningful name. While not so immediately on-the-nose like 'Flowersparkle', Carmen's name can be seen as a reference to the infamous prototype of the femme fatale, once again hinting at that charming quality of hers.
Perfect. A 'Mary Sue' never fails at what she does...and that's where PM shows through that...
...Carmen is a parody on the 'Mary Sue'. A so-called 'Parody Sue'...but not played for laughs. The thing is that she is described as being all this...by those she already has enthralled. Those that aren't really involved with her - Hokma (was more loyal to Ayin), Binah (who wasn't in the picture during Carmen's life), and Roland (a stranger to LobCorp to begin with) have their say during Ruina and offer us another view at Carmen, our first, and one thing becomes clear:
A real 'Mary Sue' would be weird as fuck.
Carmen shows us how weird a 'Mary Sue' would actually be in a world that isn't sunshine and rainbows - an extremely uncanny, severely misguided being who nonetheless draws people to herself, who show a creepy amount of belief and devotion to her. Carmen thinks that the 'be yourself' message - so omnipresent in media - should prevail...in a world where the majority of people are either pieces of shit or are living such a dreary, miserable life that they just give up all hope.
But all of this is only revealed in the second game and pulls the player out of the dream. And so, Carmen does end up failing to convince some people like Dongbaek and Dongrang who manage to develop E.G.O instead.
Because despite what she was painted as in the past, in reality, Carmen is not a 'Mary Sue'. And she is not perfect.
That's why she's such a great PM character.

Buffy propaganda:
Buffy has: - been informed in no uncertain terms at the age of 15 (!) that she has been made the latest incarnation of the one (1) person intended/destined to protect All of Humanity from the entirety of vampires, demons, apocalypse cults, and sundry other threats that desire everything from wanton murder to causing one of several actual apocalypses
- no pay and no benefits for being the Slayer; the only reliable ally she is guaranteed is one of a succession of variously shady Illuminati people who may or may not be actually helping her or taking advantage of her - if she survives 'too long' the organization will literally lock her in a room for an unarmed cage match against a powerful monster as a fucked-up test of character and/or for shits and giggles
- she is expected to do this in perpetuity until such time as she is killed in the line of duty (again, as a teenage girl expected to fight on her own with at best a small degree of enhanced physicality/durability and extremely rudimentary hand-to-hand training)
- she can't not do it because being the Slayer means she's automatically a target for the things that go bump in the night, which will attack her regardless - also being the Slayer makes her the default inheritor of the grudges of these beings
- again, she is a teenager in high school for the first part of the series; her non-optional job as the Slayer damages her academics (disrupting classes directly, cutting into time for studying, and she's known as a delinquent for accidentally totaling her last school in a fight against a group of vampires that attacked her there), impedes her social life (she has to risk her life fighting monsters in her nominal 'off' time rather than relaxing or socializing, and her friends are also murder targets by association or as a means to hurt her), and is a danger to her health and well-being (the obvious reason of injury, plus reduced hours of rest and recuperation (fighting monsters into the wee hours before and after full school/work days instead of, y'know, sleeping), plus her mom kicked her out of her own home when she tried to confide in her)
- Buffy has literally been killed twice in the line of duty, revived both times(the first time via resuscitation after drowning, the second time via literal necromancy after which she had to claw her way out of her own grave or suffocate), and been forced to continue going as the Slayer
- her mom later dies and (university-age) Buffy has to balance being the Slayer with working a shitty fast food job to make ends meet and being the primary caregiver for her younger sister
- there is a bright spot at the end of the series where she and her allies manage to 'hack' the Slayer system to kickstart every viable Slayer candidate in the world into their abilities, meaning they can build up an actual organizational/support structure so it's not just an endless succession of singular teenage girls being killed… except she's in the position of being one of the primary authorities to a bunch of teenage girls, responsible for their training and future behaviour, and bears partial responsibility for every one of them that is murdered for being a Slayer before she and her allies can get to them to protect/inform/train them to survive
- she had to put up with Xander Fucking Harris (Joss Whedon's Specialest Boy) for 7 years of showtime, and longer in the tie-in comic
To put it in terms of the current bracket: if Luisa fucks up or underperforms, people in her town are moderately inconvenienced. If Buffy fucks up, usually at least one innocent person dies. Talk about being under pressure.
She even gets a musical bit one time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmLSjwam26E

MUTANT. PARALEGAL. NEWARK'S VIGILANTE.
Tumblr media
POWERS DEFINED
POLYMATH: Advanced intellectual capabilities, where her mind instinctively, automatically, and with little deliberate cognitive thought performs complex mental operation that far beyond the capability of normal human brain.
PERFECT KINESTHESIA: She has the ability to duplicate any physical act, after seeing it done once, by anyone. She can re-perform subtle muscle movement, with flawless accuracy and precision, subsequent to observation, she can perform any physical act without difficulty.
ENHANCED PHYSIOLOGY: Upon her x-gene activating, Luce gained the ability to duplicate other abilities that she has seen performed by someone else or seen on video. Her brain capacity is expanded to absorb knowledge instantaneously, additionally her brain chemistry was hypercognitive in the area of skill observation and retention, as well as enhanced short-term memory.
PHOTOGRAPHIC REFLEXES: Watching another person’s physical movements, she can duplicate them without any practice or training as long as she has seen it once. She can master complex gymnastics routines and play difficult pieces of music, this can be used to copy combat skills, both armed and unarmed. Reviewing recordings of movements, she can retain duplicated moves indefinitely.
PHYSICAL MOVEMENT PREDICTION: Luce can figure out slight of hand techniques simply by watching them, and can often predict an opponents next move before they make it if she has studied their fighting style enough.
SUPERHUMAN AGILITY, REFLEXES, AND SPEED: Due to her photographic reflexes and perfect kinesthesia, she can push her body past natural limits allowing for her agility to match that Spider-man, as well as have a greater reaction speed than a normal human (she can deflect bullets, catch bullets being shot at her, and even catch weapons thrown at her without looking), she can temporarily move at speeds twice as fast as a normal human. Briefly, Luce can duplicate movements at double speed for a temporary and limited form of superhero speed, but she can only maintain this heighten state for a few minutes before risking overexertion, physical exhaustion, and damage to her body.
SOUND MANIPULATION: Luce has the ability to create, shape, and manipulate sound. She can mimic, intensify, hush, and distort sound. She can freely manipulate her voice, allowing her to control her voice to imitate sounds of creatures, such as animal noises and explosions, increase or decrease the tone of her voice.
AUDIOGRAPHIC MEMORY: She can memorize and reproduce any sound they have heard before, including music, voices or calls of animals. The degree of imitation is sufficiently high to the point where it can fool the real thing. Luce can mimic any sound she hears using one's voice. She has the able to mimic the voices of others or imitate sounds such as animal noises and explosions. Any sound that she hears she can replicate with perfect clarity along with any manner the sound was made.
VOICE PROJECTION: Luce has the power to project one's voice great distances or even into a room without being physically present. She can make their voice come from somewhere else, even great distances or somewhere where the user isn't physically present.
WEAKNESSES
ONE Luce is not capable of duplicating a physical feat if the effort to do so requires superhuman effort. For instance, while she could view an opponent lifting a car, she could not do so because her body can't duplicate the superhuman strength required to do so. In the same way, she cannot duplicate any superpowers she does not have.
TWO If an opponent is too unpredictable, such as Deadpool due to unpredictable nature and fractured mind; she can not copy moves or predict next movements.
THREE Her memory is not absolute or permanent, and over time she will begin to forget and need to relearn things; say she hasn’t has not used a language in two years than she would need to relearn to perfectly/fluently speak the language again, similar with moves.
FOUR Lucille’s mimicking abilities, copying movies, and general mirroring opponents is not perfect; and she actually mirrors and starts to mimic, plus absorb their emotional state as well. This can lead to Luce having aggression and anger issues, where she has gotten too wrapped up in hateful and frustrated emotions and start to go a little further and more extreme than she had originally been intending. It makes her fatal/lethal/brutal in a fight, makes any fight against her the possibility to become too desperate, and it can take her awhile to come down and come back to herself and original emotional state.
That last weakness is the big one, as she tends to pick up personality traits and violent tendencies because of that and can be difficult to return to herself.
I NEED TO ORGANIZE THIS. BUT HERE' HER ORIGINAL CONCEPTS.
so Luce is a paralegal (not a laway and can't exactly give you legal advice OFFICIALLY) by day
cause inspired by DD
whose also little inspired by runaways, where her mother's not exactly agood guy. but part of a kingpin esque circuit; which why that's bad. is cause her mom is the City's DA (district attorney), and then her dad's some big corp/pharma guy (divorced parents; it's awkward)
powers vocal mimicry and powers like taskmaster and finesse
Luce had basically like mimicry powers-ish, and so what do you do when you can do that
and you think your mother's wrong about her decisions as DA and then your father's funding corruption
you become a vigilante. and thn you string up your criminal of thee night in front of the courthouse With Evidence of their crimes scattered about
and that was about it with her story for the most part
but it was just like take the extreme route cause nothing else felt liek it was working
and then maybe maybe. cause of an unknown partof her power. that she does not realize she has no control of OR should need control of is how like brutal she gets?

Doc Samson Synopsis
A synopsis for my Doc Samson Disney+ series idea Notes: -If anyone has any ideas regarding casting, please post them in the comments. -This takes place at the same time as She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (assuming you are willing to consider that show to be MCU canon).
Episode 1: Leonard Samson is called to testify in the trial of Tony Masterson, accused of murdering several people who supported the repeal of the Sokovia Accords. During Samson’s testimony, however, Masterson uses a supposedly unarmed gun to shoot him, along with security guard Craig Saunders, defense attorney Diane Davids, prosecutor Kyle Barker, and NYPD officer Benjamin Tibbets before he is shot and killed by NYPD detective Clay Quartermain. Samson is rushed to the hospital, where Dr. Angela Lipscombe unwittingly gives him blood synthesized from that of Bruce Banner. As a result, Samson is turned into a green-haired superhuman with greatly enhanced strength. Quartermain meets with Samson and Angela to discuss the shooting, and the three decide to work together to solve the mystery.
Mid-Credits Scene: General John Ryker visits Philip Sterns in prison, and offers him a way to take revenge on the man who put him in there.
Episode 2: While going over his sessions with Masterson, Samson discovers that Saunders was present each time, and that he gave Masterson orders on behalf of an unidentified source telling him to kill Samson, Davids, and Barker. Further investigation reveals that the gun Masterson used was armed by a woman impersonating a court clerk, and the same woman also disguised herself as a nurse and swapped a regular blood bag with the gamma-irradiated blood that Samson received. A gamma-mutated Sterns, calling himself Madman, goes on a rampage, only to be fought and defeated by Samson. Quartermain, believing there is a connection to Bruce Banner’s work, calls in ESU physics professor Dr. Walter Langowski and his teacher’s aide Delilah ‘Dee Dee’ Dearborn to help.
Mid-Credits Scene: Samson works on adapting to his new strength.
Episode 3: Quartermain arranges a meeting with Michael Berengetti, a retired mobster who claims to have information about the victims. Berengetti reveals that he was contacted about making sure Davids (who normally took mob-related cases) would be Masterson’s defense attorney, but before he can say who asked him to do so, he is killed by two of his underlings Jessie Harrison and Louis Lembert, both of whom have received gamma-derived powers. Samson, Quartermain, and Dee Dee are able to subdue Harrison and Lembert, and the two confess they were convinced to betray Berengetti by Dr. Karla Sofen, who is identified as the woman impersonating the court clerk and nurse.
Mid-Credits Scene: Sofen makes a recording in which she describes several “experiments” she conducted, including psychologically manipulating convicted criminal Lloyd Bloch into giving her an unusual gem he stole, which she refers to as a Moonstone.
Episode 4: Continuing their investigation into Saunders and Davids, the group finds out the former was involved in the same mission to capture Banner that led to Emil Blonsky becoming Enhanced. Samson recalls his part in the events leading up to the fight in Harlem, and the group discusses Ross’s potential involvement. A former colleague of Langowski arrives in New York and tries to kill him, taking on the form of the Wendigo to do so, but is stopped by Samson with aid from Langowski and Dee Dee. Though it is determined that Ross was not part of the conspiracy, it is revealed that Ryker was also involved with the project that created the Hulk and that he has similar ambitions to create super soldiers.
Mid-Credits Scene: Sofen decides that Ryker is getting in the way of her plans, and decides to get rid of him.
Episode 5: In order to make sure there are no loose ends, Samson and Quartermain go over footage from Masterson’s visits, and learn that Davids gave him the order to kill Saunders on Ryker’s behalf. The group accompanies the police to arrest Ryker, but are ambushed by the electrical monster Zzzax, and are forced to take it down. Meanwhile, Ryker confronts Sofen and accuses her of having her own agenda. Sofen fatally shoots Ryker, leaving behind enough evidence to expose his part in the conspiracy and other illicit activities before fleeing.
Mid-Credits Scene: The FBI is contacted about Ryker and Sofen, with instructions to not allow the Department of Damage Control to interfere, as a number of their higher-ranking staff are are under investigation for abuse of power, brutality, corruption, and/or similar crimes.
Episode 6: No longer held back by Ryker, Sofen bonds with the Moonstone and abducts Langowski and Dee Dee. Samson, Quartermain, and Angela rescue them, though not before both are exposed to gamma radiation. An enraged Sofen goes on a rampage, but is stopped by Samson, as the latter fully embraces his Enhanced status, and Sofen is taken into custody. During the following celebration, Samson calls Bruce to say hello and ask if he’d like to join him in catching up with Betty.
Post-Credits Scene 1: Samson and Dee Dee discuss what they’re going to do now that they are Enhanced, and Dee Dee reveals that she had an ulterior motive for meeting Samson—she suspects that the two of them have the same father.
Post-Credits Scene 2: Langowski, now possessing the ability to transform into a superstrong beast he calls Sasquatch, receives a call asking him to return to Canada and join a new team being formed there. He rudely declines.

DC Comics OC form (Jayn Loren-Wayne)
Full Name: Janice “Jayn” Katherine Loren-Wayne
Age: 28 as of Jan. 2023 (born Aug. 15, 1995)
Gender/Sex: cis (born female)
Sexuality: Bisexual (openly)
Ethnicity: Afro-Latina (Dominican, Mexican & Guyanese descent) & White (Jewish on her paternal grandmother's side) American
Speaks: English (East US), Spanish (Mexican)
Appearance: Jayn is a 5'3" (160.02 cm) young woman who engages in regular intense physical activity. She’s toned and has light brown skin with a warm undertone. Her black hair, which is naturally straight like her father's, is usually worn in a simple style that goes just past her chin. She styles it differently for formal occasions & she likes making it curly, like her mother's hair. As Frostbite, Jayn wears a wavy wig, which is always to the middle of her back to contrast with her natural hair. Her eyes are a deep, dark brown. She's known for her feminine, tasteful business casual (worn at the office) & her chic, black-accented streetwear. This is her Frostbite suit. This was her suit used when she worked as Kestrel, Batman's sidekick.
History: (TW for age gap w/a minor--can be excluded)
Jayn’s mother, Dahlia, was a scientist for WayneTech, working on a superhero serum when she got pregnant by her then-secret-boyfriend Bruce Wayne. Being around the serum altered Jayn’s DNA in utero, granting her hydrokinesis at puberty. Hunted by CADMUS and others, Dahlia sent Jayn on a plane to meet her dad, Bruce, in Gotham. Dahlia was snatched up by Men in Black on the airfield, and she would disappear altogether. Jayn and Bruce would go on to have a difficult relationship; he’d apprentice her as his sidekick Kestrel until she’d choose to become Frostbite. (That typically happens after Jason Todd dies at 15, since she bonded with him over the few years they had spent living in the Manor together.) She then trained with Deathstroke to learn to kill (& had a consensual underage relationship w/him) until she decided to be her own hero instead of an assassin. She returned to Gotham years later at the age of 24, determined to do things her way--not Bruce's.
Powers/Abilities:
Hydrokinesis: by the time she's an adult, Jayn's degree of control is so great that she can force water through phase shifts within seconds. For example, she can make the water vapor around her go from a gas to a solid or liquid, producing a protective barrier. She also can easily direct water to fill a cup or to blast open a door. In emergencies, she's enhanced her jumping by propelling herself through the air using the vapor around her. Though she reserves it for more serious occasions, she can seize control of living creatures by manipulating the water within their blood and/or organs.
Olympic-Level Swimming: before she began training with her father or using her powers, Jayn was on track to perform at the Junior Olympics. She's naturally a fast swimmer who can hold her breath for about as long as a free diver can.
Unarmed Combat: After being trained by Batman (and later Slade Wilson), Jayn is a master of her fighting style, a combination of judo, Muay Thai & Krav Maga. Catwoman taught her to fight in heels & Diana Prince gave her basic instruction with a sword. Jayn once used Batarangs as Batman's sidekick, but she switched to throwing knives (and sometimes shards of glass or ice).
Gymnastics: she's undergone the training that any (former) sidekick of Batman, which includes parkour. However, she notes that she's much less graceful and agile than some of her vigilante peers, partly because she had lived a regular middle-class life and started puberty before training.
Stealth: again, regular Batman stuff. She can walk soundlessly, which helps her hide and stalk targets. Sometimes she uses fog to make things extra spooky...
Job(s): currently CFO of WayneTech; has a fashion company in addition to a hidden stash of money accumulated during her time with Slade; socialite-philanthropist who's poised to run the Martha Wayne Foundation once she’s older
Skills/Hobbies: swimming, yoga, traveling, lock-picking, intimidation
Weaknesses:
Emotions: though she has been trained to visually conceal her emotions, especially her negative ones, Jayn has always been passionate. While this can be motivational in the moment, she sometimes acts violently to the point of pursuing vengeance for a decade (wanting to punish those responsible for Jason's death and her mother's disappearance, for example). It can also make her lose control of her powers, typically in the form of the temperature suddenly dropping when she's angry, or a storm forming when she's sad (which is actually environmentally dangerous). In a case of extreme fear, like that which might be caused by magic or a strong dose of Scarecrow's fear gas, she may be unable to use her powers at all.
Human Condition: Jayn isn't superhuman in any way, save for her hydrokinesis. Therefore, she can drown, suffocate, die of blood loss, burn, etc. She can try to slow down her own blood loss, but depending on the severity of her wounds, the strain may do her more harm than good.

VOICE PROJECTION: Luce has the power to project one's voice great distances or even into a room without being physically present. She can make their voice come from somewhere else, even great distances or somewhere where the user isn't physically present.
AIR MANIPULATION: Luce can create, shape and manipulate air, the common name given to the layer of atmospheric gases and various compounds (mostly oxygen and nitrogen) surrounding the planet Earth that is retained by Earth's gravity, and possibly wind movement of air relative to the surface of the planet. It is an important factor in determining and controlling climate and weather, and the generating force of most ocean and freshwater waves. Wind occurs because of horizontal and vertical differences in atmospheric pressure, and include breezes, squalls, gusts, whirlwinds, zephyrs, gales, tempests, and hurricanes. Since air cannot be seen by conventional methods, neither can the attacks and derivatives formed by/from it, making it an invisible and versatile weapon that is very difficult to block and dodge. Since air is the originator for most natural disasters and all forms of weather, the user has control over nature’s most dangerous element allowing them to perform a wide variety of feats.
weaknesses are under the read more / post cut for length.
This weakness is a big one, as she tends to pick up personality traits and violent tendencies because of that and can be difficult to return to herself.
FIVE She is still human and mortal; she still bleeds and gets injured; she does not have a regenerative factor. Which is why a lot of Luce's fighting capability is defensive, reactive, and intent preventing self injury.
SIX Limitations on her air/wind manipulation. She cannot create air or wind where there is none, only from existing sources. Distance, mass, precision, etc, depend upon the knowledge, skill, and strength of Luce and air manipulation is her weakest of abilities. Air manipulation is ineffective in a vacuum, atmosphere must be present. She does not have the ability to absorb oxygen, so she is disadvantage against fire. Electrons detonating in the variou compound of moleecules within the air can overwhelm her. She cannot change the temperature of the air, the air can be frozen making her manipulation power ineffective. She has manipulation of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen primarily.

My Marvel Next Generation OC: Aiden O'Neal Stacy
Name: Aiden O'Neal Stacy
Alias: Stryker
Age: (completely dependent) 15- 22
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Species: Human Mutate
Costume: Varies between his symbiote and regular suit
Appearance: Aiden has short blonde hair with red highlights. Green eyes and pale skin. He often wears a white and blue hoodie with jeans and white sneakers.
His normal suit, which he really never gets often in the times I have roleplayed him consist of a padded armor suit with a large spider on his chest. The pads themselves consist of a blue color. The suit takes inspiration from his mother's suit, alongside with the hood that goes over his head. The mask lenses consist of a light blue color.
His symbiote suit, the one that is constantly used looks a lot like his mother's Ghost-Spider's symbiote suit with a unique design and flair to it.
Tumblr media
As you can see, he bears a strong, striking resemblance to Ghost-Spider's Symbiote suit. The suit consists of a black and white coloration, the organic lenses being of a blue color as well as the back spider.
Powers/Skills: Superhuman Strength, Reflexes, High Durability, Spider-Sense, Adhesion, Organic Webbing, Fast Healing Factor, High Voltage Bioelectricity, Adept Unarmed Combatant. Electrical Resistance.
Symbiote Abilities: Electrical Enhancments, Shapeshifting, Enhancers.
Fighting Style: Aiden Fights more on the ground with aggression. Using grappling moves and brutal strikes to take his opponents down.
Hobbies: Playing the Guitar, drawing
Mother: Gwendolyne Maxine Stacy
Father: Peter Benjamin Parker
Personality traits: Shy, keeps to himself and tries to stay away from people. When he warms up to someone he can be very outgoing. He has a very short fuse, causing him to become hyperaggressive.
Backstory:
Aiden was born to Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy. On the day he was born, his father died in a brutal battle with a symbiote named Nemesis. His mother was a rising in fame musician in a band known as the Emm Jays. As a result, his life would be around the fame his mother and the band had obtained. When he was four-years-old, his mother brought him to a concert that the Emm Jays were putting together. For the first time, he was subjected to the crowd of people that his mother played to. Safe to say he didn't like the constant attention whatsoever.
During the concert, the symbiote that killed his father attacked once more. Nemesis attacked and Gwen brought Aiden to a safe room, then left to go deal with the threat, especially for the sake of her child. During the fight, Aiden slipped out of the room and went to go find his mother despite what she told him. That's when he came into contact with the symbiote Nemesis. Whom grabbed him, causing a massive gash on the back of the child. Ghost-Spider came right after to save her child from further harm. On that day, Aiden gained an immense but rightful fear of any symbiote.
Years down the road, in High School. Aiden's class took a trip to the place known as Artemis Labs. A newish company that was formed from former workers of Oscorp. When he was looking at the enhanced arachnids that they developed. One of them having an electrical output. The spider was also highly aggressive, after all it was supposed to be an improved offshoot of the spiders that created Ghost-Spider and Spider-Man.
Later on the field trip, the spider had escaped it's containment, something that went unnoticed by the workers within. Suddenly, the power cut out for minute. Aiden, being the nearest to the wall didn't notice the electrical spider climbing on him and was shocked for a second when it bit him with the voltage of a taser. After the spider skittered off, his mother was informed of the accident at Artemis labs. They told her that he was subjected to a brief power surge of electricity and was told he would make a full recovery. The bite mark the spider inflicted upon Aiden looked like a shock wound, and the mark wouldn't clear up until the morning.
When Aiden got home, he immediately went to bed, after all he felt sickened from the spider's bite and was feeling a bit twitchy at the same time.
When he awoke, he would discover he no longer felt sickly whatsoever. He felt way more energetic than he's ever been. The burn mark from the spider's bite had cleared up and he could see that he wasn't shocked but instead, bitten by something.
During the school day, during gym would be the first he would discover of his new spider-like abilities. He broke the hoop with the ball itself, shocking everyone in the gym including himself. Something he never been able to do until the spider bite which of course, caused him to investigate. Of course after being chewed out by his mother.
As he tested things, he discovered he could use organic webbing, climb up any surface. His acrobatics had also increased immensely.
He kept this secret from his mother, not knowing she herself had powers as well. Something that she would find out later on.
Anyways, That's it. Here's my OC. Hope you enjoyed my character Aiden :D

Sasha’s Reluctance - Visual Storytelling
In "Toadcatcher" we get to see Sasha's training, and it has some pretty nice foreshadowing for how her eventual fight with Anne in "True Colors" will go.
After a bit of acrobatic training, Sasha finally gets around the to the finale of this training course, as she faces off against a series of dummies representing Anne and the Plantars.
Tumblr media
And she attacks them with the full, brutal power of her Calamity enhanced body, delivering a series of blows that if they had been aimed at their real counterparts, would most certainly have been very, very lethal.
Tumblr media
First, she breaks Sprigg's watermelon head into pieces with a headbutt.
Tumblr media
Then she cleaves Hopadiah's tree stump head in twain with a chop.
Tumblr media
And she sends Polly's dummy flying with a kick so powerful the dummy was still moving from ricocheting when the scene ends over 20 seconds later.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then finally, there is Anne's dummy.
You can immediatly see that the rage that dominates her face during her attack on the Plantar Dummies softens into one that though it’s still angry, is much, much more conflicted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And as she attacks, you can immediately tell the sheer difference in power between this takedown, and the other 3, as her leaping dropkick does nothing more than knock it over.
It's quite the difference compared to how she burst Sprigg and Hop Pop's dummies apart like they were nothing.
And the reason is simple. Anne isn't able to truly commit hurting Anne with a decisive blow.
Tumblr media
And then to hammer in that point, rather than follow up this lackluster(By comparison to the others) kick by "Finishing" the thing off, it's instead at this point that Sasha draws her sword and and just… Point it menacingly at Anne, rather than say… Stab it, or cut down on it.
Tumblr media
It's an impotent gesture. A threat, but one that has no will behind it, because Sasha isn't able to commit herself to truly physically hurting Anne.
Tumblr media
Instead, Sasha follows it up, by switching her blade over to her non-dominant hand, and instead pulling out something that has far, far more value to her than this exercise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her picture of what she truely wants, what she craves, what she desires more than anything.
Anne.
What Sasha wants, is for Anne to be Happy, to be safe, to love her. So why is Sasha standing here, pointing a sword at her?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course this is season 2 Sasha, so instead of confronting the realization that this is what she truly wants, instead of another conflict with Anne, She instead buries it inside and focuses on her actual performance as a defensive mechanism to not have to confront hard truths about herself, her relationship with Anne, and the fact that in “Reunion”, she realized that SHE was the problem in their relationship, not Anne.
But the point has been made. And Sasha can’t get ridd of it by just pretending that it doesn’t exist.
Tumblr media
And this comes to it's logical conclusion in “True Colors", where during their big fight, Sasha has no less than 3 completely different points at which she could have won their fight, if she had actually had the will or desire to hurt Anne.
Tumblr media
There is one point where Sasha manages to lock both of Anne's arm, along with putting her sword so that it has no possibility to hurt her.
The only thing Sasha needs to do to win, is to use her other hand and slash at Anne's face/head with those blades of hers that are sharp enough to cut through stone.
Tumblr media
She doesn't do it, and instead Anne uses her moment of indecision to break free with a kick.
Tumblr media
Later, Sasha manages to disarm Anne, while her own swords are firmly in her own hands, and she's ready to continue their fight.
However, instead she just stands there, looking threateningly, when all she has to do to win is to attack a now unarmed Anne with her swords.
She doesn't do it, and instead, she allows Anne to go in for the manouver that would win her this fight.
Tumblr media
And here, finally at the very end, Anne commits herself to an incredibly risky gambit by sprinting to the side of Sasha and sliding around her so she now faced her back.
At this point, all Sasha would have had to do to win was to swing her sword around in a spinning arc, and take Anne right in the head.
Tumblr media
She doesn't do it, and instead her indecision allows Anne to bind her with her own cape, winning the fight.
Tumblr media
The victory goes to the girl who was weaker, slower and much, much less experienced in direct physical combat, but who had no doubts she was doing the right thing at the moment, the will to actually hurt her opponent, and the actual desire to do so.
Tumblr media
It's the logical endpoint to an season long arc that showcased from the very beginning, that when it came down to the critical point, and the chips were down, and even after Sasha discovered she was actually doing the right thing(If for all the wrong reasons), Sasha would never be able to commit herself to actually hurting Anne in a fight.

365 Marvel Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…
March 30th - Moon Knight
Marc Spector grew up in Chicago, Illinois, the son of a well-respected Rabbi who had survived the Holocaust in his childhood.  Marc endured moderate psychological difficulties throughout his adolescence and ended up joining the US Marine Corps when he was a teenager.  Following a number of tours of duty, Spector was honorably discharged from the service and went on to become a mercenary, traversing the globe as a soldier of fortune.
Spector ended up in the employ of a fellow mercenary named Raoul Bushman. Bushman led a raid on the site of an American archeological dig that was excavating a buried temple to the ancient Egyptian moon god known as Khonshu.  Bushman murdered the lead archaeologist, Peter Alraune, and would have done the same to Alraune’s daughter, Marlene, had it not been for Spector’s intervention.  Spector had not known that this job was going to entail killing unarmed civilians and he fought Bushman in an effort to put a stop to it. Unfortunately, Spector was no match for Bushman’s savage skills and he was beaten nearly to death.
Bushman then killed the rest of the archeological team save for Marlene and left Spector to bleed out in the desert.  That night, barely clinging to life, Spector dragged himself into the shelter of the temple and expired at the foot of a statue of Khonshu.  The deity reached out to Spector’s spirit, offering to save him in exchange for his becoming the agent and avatar of Khonshu in the world of the living.  Spector agreed, although he later considered this encounter to be merely a hallucination.
Restored to full health, Spector donned a cloak and set of weapons he found in the temple and set out towards Bushman’s encampment.  Spector was able to defeat Bushman’s gang and save Maurine, although Bushman himself managed to escape.
Having found new purpose in life, Spector applied himself fully.  He relocated to New York City.  His wits and drive were sharper than they had ever been and he was able to utilize this enhanced focus to quickly amass a fortune by way of gambling and trading stocks.  He used this money to finance the various equipment and weapons he would use as the costumed vigilante known as Moon Knight.  Wearing an outfit reminiscent of Khonshu, he dedicated himself to fighting crime and protecting the innocent.
To further this goal, Specter created a series of alternate personas.  These included Moon Knight himself, along with the corporate financier he named Steven Grant who managed his money, and a cab driver named John Lockley who drove the streets garnering information on the criminal underworld. Specter was additionally aided by Frenchie Duchamp, a friend from his days as a mercenary, as well as by Marlene who had become his lover and confidante.
Although Moon Knight proved to be a highly successful and accomplished super hero, the mental strain it took on Spector gradually undermined his already tenuous psychological faculties.  He began to lose himself in his various identities, experiencing memory loss and dissociating to an extent that the personas of Moon Knight, Steven Grant and John Lockley all began to take on lives on of their own.  Some time later, Marc would be diagnosed as suffering from dissociative personality disorder, a rare and severe psychological condition where an individual will create disparate alternate personas to help them cope with overwhelming stress and trauma.
As the man Marc Spector had been become more and more buried under his other personas, his relationship with Marlene began to suffer.  She finally left him, unable to contend with Spector’s unpredictable shifts in personality.  The strain of losing Marline caused Spector to create yet another alternate personality, one that appeared to be the god Khonshu himself.  Whether or not Khonshu is a real entity that has exerted real power and influence over Spector, or if the god is merely a manifestation of his fractured psyche remains uncertain.
Following further adventures, Moon Knight relocated to the West Coast where he ended up a member of The West Coast division of The Avengers.  He would also act as a member of The Defenders.
Some time thereafter, Marc Spector reinvented himself as a Hollywood producer, creating a highly successful television program called ‘the Legend of Khonshu’ based on his own experiences.  During this time, Spector’s psychological difficulties took an odd turn where he believed himself to be assisted by various other superheroes, including Spider-Man, Captain America and Wolverine.  In reality, Spector had been experiencing a psychotic break where he would unconsciously dress up as these heroes and fight crime in their guise.
Following a brief stint as a member Steve Rogers’ Secret Avengers team, Moon Knight relocated back to New York.  There Spector developed a new ‘Mister Knight’ persona who wore a white business suit and mask and worked in conjunction with an NYPD detective; whilst also resuming his costumed adventures as Moon Knight when he deemed it necessary.   Around this time, Spector began working with a psychotherapist who was convinced that Khonshu was an actual entity.  Spector was told that he did not suffer from Dissociative Identity Disorder, but rather his mind had been ‘colonized’ by Khonshu so that he would act as the deities avatar on the earthly plain.
Spector would go on to experience a major psychotic break that may or may not have been Khonshu’s doing.  Spector believed himself to be trapped within a bizarre mental hospital where he had to fight his way out in order to regain his true sense of self and independence from Khonshu’s influence.  He believed that he succeeded and that he could now lead a normal life.
Sadly this would not prove to be the case.  The other worldly force known as Amon Ra had chosen the villainous Sun King to be his avatar and enacted a plot to gain revenge against Khonshu by destroying Spector’s life.  The Sun King’s plot caused Spector to discover that he and Maurine had a daughter together whom Maurine had kept secret from him.   Spector’s desire to protect his daughter, Diatrice, Moon Knight to succeed in defeating The Sun King and thwarting Amon Ra.
Following a battle against the demonic entity known as Mephisto and a short tenure wielding the cosmic Phoenix Force, Spector gained a greater degree of control over Khonshu and the being’s influence on him.  Remaining in Manhattan, he claimed a portion of the city as his territory and protected anybody within it. He also established a congregation named the Midnight Mission whose doors were open to anybody who needed his help.
Actor Oscar Isaac portrays the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, debuting in the Disney+ series, Moon Knight.  The hero first appeared in Werewolf By Night #32 (1975).

Fate and Phantasms #271: Florence Nightingale (Santa)
Tumblr media
Today on Fate and Phantasms we're celebrating Christmas with last year's Santa, Florence Nightingale! She's a Circle of Stars Druid to heal the sick, fly like Mary Poppins, and ratta some tatta. She's also a Rune Knight Fighter. You might not be a berserker any more, but that doesn't mean you don't have some sweet sweet madness enhancement.
Check out her build breakdown below the cut, or her character sheet over here!
Next up: Time for the gun show.
Race and Background
She might be hopped up on Christmas right now, but Nightingale is still a Variant Human at heart. She gets proficiency with Medicine as well as +1 Constitution and Wisdom. She also picks up the Skill Expert feat for one more point in Dexterity, proficiency in Stealth to santa her way down chimneys, and expertise (doubled proficiency) in medicine. Berserkingale was a field medic, but this Nightingale has the full force of the earth's greatest (and technically only) clinic. She's still a soldier: that's Athletics and Intimidation proficiency. Nobody likes going to the doctor. The gun certainly doesn't help.
Ability Scores
Medicine is a Wisdom check, so that's number one. After that is Dexterity. Guns and not dying in a santa suit are both dexterity-based skills, this probably isn't news to you. Constitution comes next: you're still partly a berserker, so you can tank some serious hits if it means you can fight disease. Your Strength isn't as high as I'd like it, but we'll deal with it later. Your Charisma is also pretty low.. You can scare people into following your orders, but you're not exactly winning any prizes for your bedside manner. Finally, dump Intelligence. You know exactly what you need to cure illness, and nothing else.
Class Levels
Fighter 1: First level fighters get proficiency with Strength and Constitution saves as well as two skills from the fighter list. Grab Insight to tell if a kid's been naughty or nice and Perception to make sure your aim's steady. getting a needle in properly is hard in melee range, let alone 100 feet out. To help with that, you also get the Archery fighting style for a +2 on all ranged weapon attack rolls. Your health is important too, so use your Second Wind once a short rest to heal up as a bonus action.
Fighter 2: At second level you can use your Action Surge to take a second action in a single turn. Time is of the essence when it comes to treatment, after all. You can do this once per short rest.
Druid 1: First level druids learn Druidic, a written language that can only be decoded by other druids. Have you ever tried to read a doctor's handwriting? Exactly. You can also cast and prepare Spells using your Wisdom. It's important to prepare adequately for the weather to avoid pneumonia or heatstroke, so pick up Druidcraft to pick up the weather forecast. You also pick up Primal Savagery to get a little unarmed attack power going. Since you can swap out leveled spells overnight, don't get too worked up over what you pick. For first level spells I'd suggest Cure Wounds and Healing Word for the obvious medical uses, Faerie Fire for an attack boost worthy of being your third skill with that ridiculously long name, Jump for your first taste of lifting off the ground, and Purify Food and Drink. This will purge nearby food of all the toxins (and sugars) in it, rendering it much safer for the kiddos.
Druid 2: Second level druids can Wild Shape, turning you into a beast of CR 1/4 or less twice a short rest. This lasts 1 hour and goes up an hour every 2 levels. Your beast can't fly or swim, and you keep all your soft stats while in beast form, effectively gaining the beast's HP as temporary HP. You can't cast spells, but you can concentrate on them. But that's not what we're here for. We're here because Star druids can also use those Wild Shape charges to take on a Starry Form. It only lasts for 10 minutes, but while transformed this way you get all decked out for Christmas with lights and all, plus you can choose between three forms. As an archer you can turn that crossbow into a machine gun with a bonus action attack, launching radiant damage at your foes. As a chalice you can heal a nearby creature whenever you cast a healing spell. As a dragon your intelligence and wisdom checks, along with your concentration saves, always have a roll of at least 10. You're now as good at medicine as a rogue could get at eleventh level, and we're still level four. You're a good doctor, is what I'm getting at. One last thing: while you have your Star Map on you, you'll know Guidance and Guiding Bolt, and on top of that you can cast the latter without spending a spell slot up to proficiency times a day. It's a damage spell that gives advantage on the next attack to hit your target after you do. Nightingale's a great support, and you'll make sure your foes know why.
Druid 3: Third level druids get second level spells. We're still not flying yet, but Warding Wind will give you some protection, at least. Lesser Restoration is obvious, I hope, but pick up Barkskin too. A Santa outfit is not armor, so this can help keep you safe during the Santa tournament.
Druid 4: Fourth level druids get a Wild Shape Improvement, so you can turn into swimming animals now if you want. You also get your first Ability Score Improvement, so pick up the Piercer feat. This lets you re-roll one die of piercing damage a turn, and you can add an extra die to a damage roll on a critical hit with a piercing weapon. You really like needles. You also get Thunderclap. You had to leave most of your grenades at home for this gig, but it won't hurt to keep a few on hand. Won't hurt you, at least.
Druid 5: For third level spells, grab Aura of Vitality for more healing without having to sacrifice offense, and Revivify for your targeted guts ability. Druids don't really get the better resurrection spells, but hopefully you won't need those.
Druid 6: Sixth level star druids can foretell a Cosmic Omen- when you finish a long rest, roll a die. Then, depending on your roll you can add or subtract a d6 from nearby attacks, saves, and checks as a reaction Proficiency times a day. It's a shame you can't make both options work for the perfect translation of Assault Medicine, but we'll take what we can get.
Druid 7: There aren't many fourth level spells we want, aside from turning you into a Guardian of Nature. This transforms you for 1 minute, and during which you can pick one of two modes. A Primal Beast is a good pick to lean a little more berserker-y, bumping up your speed, giving you darkvision and advantage on all strength attack rolls, plus you deal extra damage with melee weapons. Alternatively, the Great Tree works for your archer form, giving you temporary HP, and you make dexterity-based attacks and constitution saves with advantage. You also slow down nearby creatures, which doesn't quite flavor well, but it's a cherry on top at this point, why not.
Druid 8: Eighth level druids can turn into any CR 1 beast, and they also get another ASI. Bump up your Dexterity again for a stronger gun and armor.
Fighter 3: Now that the Christmas spirit has welled up inside of you, we can spread it to others. As a Rune Knight you can wield Giant Might, making you a large creature with advantage on strength checks and saves. Your weapon attacks can also deal extra damage once a turn- interestingly, not just melee attacks. You can grow up like this proficiency times a day, but there's a bigger reason we're here. A rune knight is also a Rune Carver, giving you 2 runes you can carve into a weapon, suit of armor, shield, or jewelry over a long rest. The Stone Rune is an effective tranquilizer and naughty/nice detector. While holding it, a creature gets advantage on insight checks, plus darkvision for your dumb human eyes. You can also use your reaction to invoke the rune once a short rest, forcing a wisdom save against the target. If they fail, they're charmed for a minute. Every doctor these days knows you need anesthetic before you start the surgery. You also pick up the Fire Rune, doubling your proficiency bonus with all tools. More importantly, you can invoke the rune while hitting a creature, shackling them. They take extra damage, and if they fail a strength save they'll be restrained for up to a minute. Now you could take, say, a nonmagical lance and turn it into a weapon that can tied down your foes. That's right, we put Nightingale's ability to turn Astolfo into Saber Astolfo in this build.
Fighter 4: Fourth level fighters get their own ASI, and we're grabbing the Crossbow Expert feat. I'd consider your umbrella more of a light crossbow than a hand one so we're entirely here for letting you ignore loading, but really you can play the character how you want.
Fighter 5: Fifth level fighters get an Extra Attack, putting that feat we just got to good use. If the name didn't give it away, it's an extra attack each attack action.
Fighter 6: Our last stop in the fighter levels is another ASI, bumping up your Wisdom for stronger spells and better medicine.
Druid 9: Ninth level druids get fifth level spells, and there's a lot here to like. Control Winds might just get you the lift you need for takeoff, and there's the big healing spells like Greater Restoration and Mass Cure Wounds.
Druid 10: Tenth level druids get another cantrip, so pick up Resistance to buff your saves so you don't get sick with whatever you're treating. You also get Twinkling Constellations, buffing your Starry Form. This increases the damage and healing from Archer and Chalice, respectively. Best of all, your dragon constellation can now fly, and even gets a hover speed. Even better, you can swap between forms each turn your Starry Form is active. Umbrellas might not be the fastest way to fly, but at least you can't get knocked off your mount.
Druid 11: If you want to get the lead out use your sixth level spell slot on Wind Walk, giving you and up to 10 other creatures a flying speed of 300'. The downside is you can't attack while this is going on, but you can always revert the transformation. (It's worth noting it takes 1 minute to get into and out of this form.) If you'd rather do something simple, Heal heals people and removes status effects, Heroes' Feast adds to your friends' HP and prevents them from getting frightened in the first place. An ounce of prevention, a pound of cure, etc. etc.
Druid 12: Use your last ASI to bump up your Constitution for more HP and stronger runes.
Druid 13: There's really only one seventh level spell I want, and it's Regenerate. You can now reattach severed limbs, it's sweet.
Druid 14: Our final level makes you Full of Stars, making you resist bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage while in your Starry Form.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
Compared to the old Nightingale, this new one's even tougher, with more HP, ways to reduce damage, and a higher AC. The healer's the last person you want to go down on your team, so this is great for your party.
Speaking of damage, you also deal more than the original. Two light crossbow shots + an archer hit deals 4d8+12 damage in total, about as much as if you were a maxed out fighter. A "proper" barbarian could probably do more, but you've got consistency.
Speaking of consistency, the dragon constellation means you have super consistent skills for a large portion of the game. It might not effect every skill in the game, but an eleventh level ability at level 4 is never bad.
Cons:
While your constellation transformations are longer than your typical rage, they're still pretty limited in terms of dealing with multiple encounters before taking a short rest. With only 2 uses, you can run out really fast.
Your AC is better than the original, but that's still not saying much. 14 AC isn't terrible on an archer, but you can do better- just put on some medium armor.
Multiclassing has plenty of benefits, but you miss out on high level spells. Tsunamis are cool, it's a shame you'll never cause one.

Chapter 62: The Queen’s Inheritance (I)
"Here, this is the ancient lake." A guide brought the two men to a huge underground lake and said, "The buildings near here were built during the first generation of Dragon Ant Queens, and by now most of them have become damaged and collapsed. It’s said that most of them were in the architectural styles of the demon world. Later, with the entry of human beings, some later Dragon Ant Queens were of human origins, and the style gradually moved closer to that of the human world."
Qi Leren and Ning Zhou stood in front of the ruins of ancient buildings, watching the vast underground lake ahead. The rich water vapor formed a dense fog that hovered over the underground lake. With a burst of wind coming from underground caves, the fog was blown away only to reform.
The wonderful thing was that there were a lot of fluorescent plankton floating in the lake, which were a deep fluorescent blue amidst the smokey fog. This huge underground lake was like a night sky with thin clouds, with bright stars in its vast expanse.
"The scenery here is good, yet it seems that there aren’t many people?" Qi Leren asked.
The guide mused: "In the early years, there were still people living here, but I don't know when it started: there were frequent violent conflicts here, and the chaos was even worse than that in the lower city. With the water monster incident, the residents who were here moved."
"Water monster?" Qi Leren looked back at the fluorescent underground lake again. "Is there a water monster in it?"
"Yes, there was a monster attack on the nearby residents, which caused thousands of deaths. It alarmed the Dragon Ant Queen, and she then ordered for all of them to be relocated," the guide said.
Qi Leren whispered to Ning Zhou, "What does a water monster look like?"
Ning Zhou thought about it: "A strange shape."
This is equal to saying nothing. Qi Leren blinked in confusion. On second thought, the monster was also a kind of monster. Of course, there were all kinds of monsters, some of which were serious and some of which were casual.
"Is this monster a devil? Or a demon?" Qi Leren asked again.
Although devils and demons had similar names, there were obvious differences. There were many races with rational minds and human features among devils, but no matter how powerful demons were, their bodies were obviously non-human, and they had no rational and normal cognitive ability.
The guide shook his head and said, "We don't know. The monster appeared once and then disappeared. Maybe the Dragon Ant Queen took the shot to clean it up."
"Then there would be no need to move," Ning Zhou hit the nail on the head.
"That’s also true." The guide smiled bitterly. "We aren’t qualified to know the inside story of this confidential matter."
"Where did Mrs Kathleen say she saw the person she thought was Ashley?" Qi Leren asked.
"In the area over here, please come with me." The guide pointed to a palace-style building complex that had been submerged by the lake, and walked there with the two people.
There was almost no light source from the sun in the Underground Ant City, but the creatures here naturally developed methods to see. Both humans and demons would eat foods that enhanced night vision. In addition, there were fluorescent fungi and vegetation everywhere, and the demand for light here had dropped dramatically over time. If you suddenly returned to the surface, it would be difficult to adapt because of the strong light.
After Qi Leren broke his shell, his eyesight had improved a lot. Along with eating the food suggested by Celia, walking in the dim underground world didn't hinder him now, but occasionally he would stumble on the uneven ground because of carelessness. After all, there wasn’t very good infrastructure in the Nightmare World, and few places had flat cement or asphalt roads except the Twilight Township.
Ning Zhou walked half a step slower than him, which proved to be very important, because when Qi Leren stumbled, he reacted very quickly to catch him with one hand.
He wouldn't say "I'll carry you", but in fact he did.
When the guide looked back and was about to speak, his open mouth got stuck in his face when he saw the hands being held between the two men, and his voice became a cough.
Ning Zhou deadpanned, as if two men walking hand in hand was a matter of course. Qi Leren pretended to look at the scenery: "The scenery here is really good. It would be nice to walk around nearby when we have time."
Ning Zhou also responded to him: "Hmm."
The guide doesn't quite understand what was worth going on a date for in a place where there were water monsters and people often went missing and were killed... He would want to leave, but he strongly wore an awkward but polite smile: "Yes, but pay attention to safety."
Qi Leren had discovered that Ning Zhou was very shy in some aspects, but very "calm" in other aspects. For example, if he thought that two people who were engaged could hold hands, he wouldn’t care about the situation or feel embarrassed to be seen.
But by the same token, he decided that what he couldn't do before getting married was impossible without getting married.
Qi Leren, like an infatuated teenager, was stirring under the influence of hormones. At the same time, he felt that he was a dirty adult compared to the pure Ning Zhou. He had just fallen in love and he had already begun to think about their sex life.
At this moment, Qi Leren was very optimistic and confident that he should be able to push Ning Zhou down. After all, Ning Zhou was so pure, how could he be the more dominant one? But he couldn't be in such a hurry. It wasn’t good to intimidate Ning Zhou. He should start teaching at the primary level. For example, he should find a chance to teach him how to kiss at the right time, in the right place, and with the right atmosphere.
A little excited inside, a little expectant, and a little shy, Qi Leren couldn't help but show an excessively happy smile.
Guide: I don't know why, but I feel like an eyesore, so I should hurry away…
After taking them to their destination, the guide left for his other tasks, leaving only Qi Leren and Ning Zhou walking slowly in the ruins of this palace.
The surrounding buildings had indeed been seriously damaged, but they can vaguely see the distinctive style. For example, there were only a few rows of scattered columns left in this building that were similar to a Greek temple. The height of the complete columns was more than 40 meters, which was already magnificent from a distance. When you looked closer, it would take seven or eight people to hug each column. Standing under the column and looking up, this amazing height was awe-inspiring. Because the foundation had fallen and the lake’s water had risen, the temple had become tilted altogether. The north half had been submerged in the lake and only showed slightly above the water, while the south part had not been swallowed up by the lake water at all.
"The buildings in the underworld are usually much taller than those in the human world," Ning Zhou said.
"Why?" Qi Leren asked.
Ning Zhou looked at the rows of neat but damaged columns in front and said slowly, "Because many demons don't like to maintain human form."
Qi Leren immediately thought of the huge black dragon in the lake of fire. With its size, it could only move in such a huge building. He didn't know if the dragon-shaped devils had some special hobbies, such as collecting gold coins and treasures…
"There are traces of fighting here." Ning Zhou's voice awakened Qi Leren who was still sleepwalking.
Qi Leren quickly recovered and observed it carefully. The damage caused by natural collapse was different from that caused by fighting. Qi Leren was inexperienced, but Ning Zhou could see it at a glance and even recover some details of the battle in his mind. For example, the column in front of him was broken by fighting, and the blood at his foot was left by severe scratches when the person was hit and flew to the ground.
"They were two masters, at least one was injured," Ning Zhou said.
"In my impression, although Mrs Kathleen's subordinate had the seed of slaughter, his strength was average," Qi Leren recalled.
"Someone’s here!" Ning Zhou pulled Qi Leren behind the column.
Both of them were silent, regulating their breathing and heartbeats.
In the distance, there came a group of people's slight footsteps, the sound of cloth dragging on the ground, and even light.
A mysterious group passed through the hall, carrying bone lamps in their hands, and wearing heavy long cloaks with hoods covering their faces. This group of people, with their heads down, recited words like spells in a low voice, and when he listened attentively, he could tell they were hypnotized.
Qi Leren gave himself a quick pinch, and Ning Zhou looked at him with concern. Qi Leren pointed to his lips and pointed to the mysterious cloaked figures, beckoning to be careful of their spells. Seeing that Ning Zhou wasn’t affected, Qi Leren was a little reassured.
The front row of the group consisted of cloaks carrying bone lamps, but the rear was a group of ragged human beings. Their eyes were closed, and everyone's face showed a look of intoxication and a trance-like state, with strange smiles. Like a group of docile sheep, they walked forward under the guidance of the cloaks.
Qi Leren felt bad at once. What were these cloaked people doing?
Ning Zhou suddenly felt something, and his eyes stared straight at one of the people moving forward. The man looked as unarmed and smiling as the people around him, but when Ning Zhou looked at him, he also turned his head, grinned at him with great interest, and then continued walking before the cloaked people found out.
There was no road ahead, and the northern part of this temple had been submerged in the underground lake. If they went further, there would be only the lake water filled with fluorescent algae. However, as if they could not see the road, these people walked towards the lake with their bone lamps and vague spells.
As they approached, the fluorescence on the lake became more and more bright. At once, the stars converged into a dazzling blue, which made people’s eyesight white out!
A wonderful voice sounded in the light, and it was difficult to describe whether it was a song or a spell. It was like a devout prayer of the devout and a desperate cry of the dying, which made Qi Leren shiver all over. In the void, there seemed to be a huge eyeball watching everyone in this land, including the two people hiding behind the column.
Qi Leren's eyes widened, his heart thumped, and his whole body seemed to be petrified under the spell.
Under this strange sound, this group of mysterious cloaked people walked into the blue light, and were quickly swallowed by the light.
The blue light gradually went out, and the fluorescent plants on the lake faded again, but the cloaked and human figures could no longer be seen in the temple. Everything was silent, absurd, and terrifying.
"What was that...?" Qi Leren woke up from the fear of being shocked just now and leaned in Ning Zhou’s direction.
"A cult sacrifice." Ning Zhou was more experienced than he was, so it wasn’t difficult to see what this group of people were going to do. He was more concerned about the person who had smiled at him from the crowd just now. That person had obviously noticed the two people hiding behind the column, but didn’t expose their existence. And he himself, for whatever reason, seemed to be playing the role of cult sacrifice.
"Where did they go?" Qi Leren asked again.
"They should have entered a fixed half-field. You remember that the members of the Slaughter Secret Society entered a half-field enchantment like this for secret ceremonies," Ning Zhou said.
Qi Leren suddenly realized that a similar situation had happened with the Slaughter Secret Society before, but this group of people were even more bizarre. He didn't know what they were.
"Which devil are these people going to sacrifice to?" Qi Leren asked.
"Not sure." Ning Zhou shook his head.
There were too many devils, and this was the Underground Ant City. Besides the worship of the Devil Kings, the worship of lower devils was also endless, and the situation was more complicated than any other place. However, the spells recited by this group of people were a little familiar, like a group of Utopia worshippers that Ning Zhou had once handled. That is, worshippers of the Lord of Power.
"Let’s hurry up and go back to Celia to see if there’s any way to get in. If we delay too long, this group of people will be in danger," Ning Zhou said.

Part 3
Tumblr media
The lights were bright. Too bright, the ceiling was blindingly white and it burned. The light burned. Her eyes were dry, so dry, blinking hurt but having her eyes open hurt.
Everything was loud, not everything, some things were quiet, the things that were loud were meant to be quiet. The buzzing of the air conditioner, the static sound of electricity, footsteps that sounded close but felt far away. It was overwhelming but she couldn't speak, there was something in her mouth.
A high pitched whine filled her ears, they began to ring, louder and louder, until it drowned out the buzzing.
"#043, you have finally woken up."
The ringing in her ears ceased and she could now hear the chatter in the room. A face blocked the light from her eyes, a familiar one.
"It is likely you don't remember but you have been up before." Dr. Leeb began to fiddle with some restraints on her wrists. "We had to wake you up to test if the enhancements worked. It may have taken two years but I believe we have made the latest breakthrough in mechanical enhancements."
#043 was finally able to sit up, disorientated and confused. She had never seen the room she was in yet it felt familiar. White walls and medical equipment surrounded her, there were a couple of men in white coats chatting by the door.
"You are a stunning success #043, almost enough to atone for your previous mistakes." Dr. Leeb undid the restraints on her ankles, as #043 sat up to face him. "Now I want you to do something for me. Listen to the men over there." He pointed to the men in lab coats. "You can't hear them now but perhaps if you just focused, you may be able to."
#043 didn't quite know what focusing your hearing felt like but she did was Dr. Leeb said and focused. Her ear began to burn slightly as she focused in but eventually she could hear the two men talking as clear as day.
"... chip in the Occipital and Frontal lobes, replacement of the Stapes, enhanced prosthetics and enhanced senses, what type of monster is..."
#043 tuned out, before nodding at Dr. Leeb.
"What were they talking about, dear?"
"Me." She paused before staring right at the Doctor. "What did you do to me?"
"We have simply made you better now! Enhanced sight and hearing. I upgraded you prosthetics to fit your fully grown form and added some extra bonuses in them! #043, click your heels together."
#043 slowly stood up from the bed, Dr. Leeb seemed much smaller than she remembered. Her knees almost gave out when she put her full weight on them but she caught herself on the IV pole beside her.
"We haven't got all day!"
Struggling, #043 balanced herself the clicked her heels together. There was a slight hissing noise and two small blades perturbed from her feet, from the heel on her left leg and the toe of the right. She clicked her heels again and they retracted.
"Brilliant aren't they. Come on now, its time for you to get used to these new legs and then it is time for you to fully atone."
Although he wasn't mentioned by name #043 knew that her atonement was in the hands of The Winter Soldier.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Soldier stood on the edge of the fighting ring. It was a large concrete circle with walls built up around it, high enough to prevent escape but low enough to allow scientists to stare at him from above. He knew little of why he was here, other than to fight yet another contender. He was tired, tired of the endless fighting, he always won in the end and those who would lose to him would be taken away for more enhancements or to be disposed of.
For this fight, however, there was a palpable tension in the air as the men above him whispered to each other. He was unarmed, except for a small knife which he was currently flipping between his hands. He was unsure how long it had been, how long he had been waiting for but just has the knife in his hands flipped at the fastest it could the doors on the other side of the chamber opened.
The doors parted to reveal a tall figure, probably as tall as him. She was dressed in a similar fashion to him, black vest and her hair pushed out of her face. The Soldier analysed his opponent. She rivalled him in stature, and her eyes were just as sharp as his as he saw her sizing him up as well.
His eyes flicked down to her legs, he felt his arm whirr slightly as he recognised the same mechanics used in both her legs. They were made of interlocking metal parts that glinted in the florescent lights, with every step she took there was a slight whirring as the metallic joints folded over each other.. Her right leg still had her own knee and was made of metal from there down in contrast her left has an artificial knee joint that clacked slightly when she straightened it, the metal plates going far enough up to just brush her hip.
He walked towards her until they met in the middle. He was right, she was the same height as him and almost as broad. Once she was closer to him, he saw that her shoulder's were littered with scars. They were uniform and regular in their placement, perhaps they were a weak spot of hers? He followed her arms down to see the knuckle dusters clasped in her fists. He looked down at his small knife, this was to be a game of wits as well as strength.
All in all he saw her as a threat, he knew he would have to avoid her legs. Now that she was close enough he looked right into her eyes. They were empty. While her eyes moved over him in a clearly assessing way there was nothing behind them. She was devoid of emotion, his heart beat loudly in his ears as he felt pity. Pity and sympathy. A voice came over the intercom
"#043 meet the Winter Soldier, Soldier meet #043."
They nodded at one another.
"#043, you are to defeat the Winter Soldier. This is the only way you may become Eris. Make me proud, my dear, destroy him."
The Soldier looked as the empty eyes of #043 turned from emotionless to anger, she gave no warning before she attacked.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It wasn't personal, the Soldier was just a target. #043 thought as she launched forwards. Despite not remembering the past two years her movements were the same as always. Chaotic and destructive. She felt her arms moving before her brain and watched as the Soldier jumped to block her.
The two super soldiers battered at each other. #043 felt her arm getting bruised each time she countered the metallic arm. She stared into the eyes of the soldier and he stared back each trying to predict the others moves. They danced around each other. Exchanging pummel after pummel, the brass knuckles caught the Soldier's temple, tearing it. In retort the knife caught #043's cheek. Blood flowed down her cheekbone and she paused.
The Soldier paused too.
They stood for a moment, fists still raised, eyes still locked. There was a hint of recognition that passed between them. A familiarity of shared experience, a moment of finding someone who could finally understand.
"Do I need to remind you what will happen if you lose this #043."
It was enough for #043 to be spurred into action once more. The Soldier was immediately back on the defensive as she attacked him continuously. He couldn't predict a pattern in her blows. She seemed to move with no thought, no direction other than to harm. Her legs kicked out with shattering force and he soon learned it was better to dodge than block. She was unrelenting, while his body was not as tired as hers his mind was beginning to lag. He had to focus, he had no time to switch to the offensive. He had to wait, to wait for her to get tired, for her to slip up.
She punched, he parried. She kicked to his chest, he sidestepped, His eyes narrowed. She was going to kick, with her left, no RIGHT. A deafening clang rang out as he blocked her leg with his arm. Her foot was an inch away from his head. They were both breathing heavily, neither of them having fought someone as similar to the other. Once more their eyes met, the Soldier hesitated- under all the anger and hatred in her eyes was a desperation- fear. She was scared. Not of him. Of consequence, of losing.
She began to push against his arm. The scrape of metal against metal sent shiver's down #043's spine. But she kept pushing, she couldn't lose, she refused to. She grunted out at the effort it took to break the Soldier's guard. She gritted her teeth, she felt his arm give way, she relaxed and was swiftly thrown off balance by the Soldier throwing her leg away. He took the opportunity to run at her.
She was now on the defensive. Using her arms to block in coming knife swipes. Using her legs to parry his own kicks. She tried to get a jab in. Only to have the knife slash across her knuckles, causing her to drop on of her brass knuckles. They clanged against the floor, forgotten as she had to double her efforts to concentrate. She ignored the shooting pain over her hand and continued to block punch after punch.
#043 was tiring. She knew this. He knew it. She felt him doubling his efforts to trap her. Sweat was dripping down her brow. Her usual ability to predict her opponents movements was gone, her brain too focused on surviving. The Soldier drew closer. She blocked a final jab with the knife but he grabbed her. He grabbed her wrists and twisted. She dropped the other brass knuckle. He pulled her close, twisted so that her back was to his chest, and placed his metal arm around her throat. He squeezed.
"Yield." His voice was quiet in her ear, low enough so that Dr. Leeb would not hear.
She struggled, clawing at his arm. She thought of Dr. Leeb, of the chair, of consequences. Black spots began to dance around her vision. She would not go out like this. She focused on her left leg. The chip in her brain that lead directly to her left leg. She really did not want to be disposed of.
Dr. Leeb watched with barely veiled excitement as #043 let out a guttural scream. He watched as her left leg began to twist, it rotated against her skin until it was facing backwards, the foot facing the Winter Soldier. The leg reared back, unnoticed and kicked. Dr. Leeb laughed as that single kick dislocated the soldier's knee. The Soldier loosened his grip and she escaped. They faced each other once again.
The ache in her leg was almost impossible to ignore as it twisted back to the right place. Much to her annoyance the soldier was still standing. They were both breathless, bloody and bruised.
The Soldier grimaced before snapping his knee back into place, he had given enough for it to be considered a fair fight. It was time to end this fight.
They both moved at once. Their dance resumed. This time they were both switching from attacking and defending every other hit. #043 began to launch a series of kicks. The Soldier kept deflecting them. She knew she was becoming predictable but every inch of her hurt. Her knuckles were bleeding. Spraying red droplets everywhere as she continued to punch. In desperation she began to launch a final switch kick. It felt obvious, she saw the soldier's eyes flick to her feet. He knew what she was going to do. It was too late to change. She launched her right leg towards the Solder's temple. He raised his arm.
There was a thud as the Soldier hit the floor. Unconscious.
#043 blinked. He had seen it coming. He had raised to block it. Had he been tired? Was he too slow? Her win felt wrong. She stood frozen over his form. She had won. She was Free. She was Eris. So why wasn't she happy?
"What type of monster have you created Dr. Leeb?"
Dr. Leeb turned to face the General, a joyous smile on his face.
"I have created an unstoppable tide of chaos, General. I have created Eris."
