honestly my favourite thing about skeletondance is that Wander is literally Hater's shoulder angel and Peepers's jealous ass (like fr i have never seen a more jealous male character who wasnt like an ex boyfriend) is essentially his shoulder devil.

My interpretation is that Hater chooses to be evil partly because it's fun and gives him a rush of pride and other red emotions but also because of Peepers's influence. Hater probably WOULD enjoy being good if he (and Peeps) let him(self). I mean you could make a compilation of all the times Peepers had to force Hater to focus on doing evil deeds, and you could argue that that's just because Hater's hate is so strong but I like to think that that is kind of a representation of Hater's morality anyway. Shoulder devil.

Its so funny to me how this man is so determined to not do anything nice because "ew thats gay" that he overcompensates and physically reacts with disgust at any positive vibes like some kinda Megamind feedback-aversion. And we know this isn't just him genuinely not consenting because there's multiple episodes where Hater gets to (or is dragged into) hang(ing) out with Wander and he genuinely enjoys himself and it's almost like letting loose. It's this weird almost fanfic-y enemies-to-lovers thing where- I just realized what it is. Hater is a tsundere.

Idk man I just have so many thoughts about this love triangle and its so funny to me that this show clearly meant for children had this kinda dynamic. Wander Over Yonder has some really... interesting relationships! I'm rambling now but idc because I don't know how to organize these thoughts so y'all are just gonna have to take these! Wander Over Yonder turned 10 today!

Here to say that this show really inspired me to do a lot. I cannot believe it aired today 10 years ago. Everything about this show is fantastic. The characters were iconic and well-written, the adventures they went on were goofy mixed with some emotional/wholesome moments, the story that was told was intriguing and left us wanting more, the songs were bangers, the animation is adorable and (from a technical standpoint) ahead of its time... you can tell the writers poured their heart and soul into this show and it really paid off. Its message of positivity, helping others, and loving people regardless of their imperfections is something I feel like everybody needs to hear.

If you've never seen Wander Over Yonder, I'd highly recommend it. You can find it on Disney+, Hulu, and even the very first episode was posted to DisneyXD's YouTube channel about a week ago. So definitely go check it out if you've got the time.

(Also this is my first time drawing the characters. I hope they look good. I want to draw more of them and also try to use tumblr more often, so maybe expect me to post more WOY stuff soon :D)

After 10 years of craving it, I now present to you... the triple pickle cream pie!

I haven't thought about it for a long time, but then I learned recently that a (terrible) recipe for a pickle cheesecake exists, and I was reminded of the pie in WOY that looked impossibly good to me, and thought if I could make an actually good pickle pie. Two weeks ago I finally got started, and now here we are.

I found a recipe for cucumber-lime pie and mixed it with cream pie instructions. I made it "triple" by putting pickle in the filling (plain cucumber), pickle in the cream (sour-- not salty-- pickle juice and a TON more sugar mixed in), and pickles on the side (Japanese sour ones just as removable garnish). Then I used a graham-cracker pie crust because looking at the pies in the show for some reason always made me nostalgic for those Hershey's sundae pies you could get in slices at certain restaurants-- and they both work better once frozen. I also made the wave pattern with a rubber spatula. I had two different people try it and they said it was honestly not bad! (I thought it tasted pretty alright.) Anyway, it's not perfect, but I'm sure you can all try and experiment with it yourself if you're ambitious and hungry for it enough, haha.

Sorry for the varying lighting on the pictures, the kitchen lights bleached the irl colors on-camera and I had to retouch most of them, hence the mild saturation.
