istg, my daddy says some of the dumbest shit sometimes. we were discussing help for the poor in the us - he says its there and available if you really need it, i disagree. there are programs meant to help ,but they are underfunded, difficult to understand/apply for, and often any help is too little and too late. that isnt help, thats just enough to keep ppl going so they dont revolute.

his version of available if you need it is, if you cant afford to pay rent you go and sleep in the sheriff's office - a public servant office. if they arrest you, they have to give you a house cause being poor isnt a crime. which is so dumb on so many fucking levels.

1: they can and will arrest you for being poor, and will say the arrest was for loitering/disrupting public peace/we tf they want - the chances anybody looks into it are so small as to be nonexistent.

2: police can and will kill ppl just cause they feel like it. sometimes they get paid leave while its investigated, usually they face no disciplinary action. (aside, we are mexican! he knows the police are racist! the disconnect in logic). this has been said for yrs, now theres video proof to back it up

we talked abt other shit too before he ended the conversation saying i didnt understand and we were just gonna get into an argument. i dont understand and i dont know nearly enough cause i get too sad looking into the failings of the government, but i know enough to know that the 'help' isnt fucking real and not as readily available as he thinks.
