In the Unicorn AU, how does Ink know about claiming mortals; and by proxy, does Error know? Did either of them used to have unicorns for their respective roles, or maybe they learned from elsewhere? What about Nightmare? How did he Unicorn the gang? Did he learn from Dream and Blue's example, was he told, or was he just as clueless when he turned the gang? Dream (and possibly Nightmare) not knowing- does it have to do with their past? Were they not born Alicorns, and as such not have (possibly?) innate knowledge? Were the others not born as Alicorns? If so, is there some sort of. . . requirement when it comes to transforming into an Alicorn? (Although, in a multiverse where AUs are plentiful... wouldn't there be more Alicorns? Assuming the multiverse is vast that is...) Reaper and Life as well! Do they have any claimed Unicorns? Is Reapertale!Papyrus an Alicorn too; does Reaper!Paps even exist, or the rest of the Reapertale Pantheon? What is their relationship with the other Alicorns? What do they know- or even don't know? (Apologies if that's too much for one ask!)

INk, Error, Reaper, and Life all gained their titles of guardians from the previous guardians. The balances existed long before them they are just the newest of the guardians. Each of the previous guardians would carefully choose and claim them as one of their unicorns, instruct them, and eventually give them the final powers that where needed to become an alicorn guardian. Though the Instruction proved very different for each of them. Error's mentor could be rather harsh and tended to let Error learn more from mistakes than anything else like actually teaching him. she was a bit of a prick tbh. Ink's Was nearly just as chaotic as him if not far more experienced. Lessons would often be derailed to put it simply. Reaper's and Life's Instructors where twins(not dream and nightmare) and older than Ink's and Error's mentors. They where also better teachers. probably the reason why the life/death balance is the best kept one. The old Life and death guardians had a few other unicorns they watched over that still hang out around Reaper and life. Nightmare IS unaware of what Claiming a mortal truly does as he was never taught and never had a close enough relationship with another Alicorn for them too tell him. Dream was also never taught but Ink assumed He already knew because He thought Dream was taught like he was. Blue turning unicorn was no surprise for Ink. Nightmare was defiantly confused as too why Blue had changed, he thought maybe it was something Dream had done on Purpose. So he didn't really expect it when The gang Got Unicorned. Nightmare and Dream are a little different than the other guardians. For one they are born unicorns. They where born before Nim got tree'd. Nim was actually one of the less job focused of the guardians, mainly because her balance was supposed to naturally fluctuate based on circumstance and was not needed to be kept as rigid. Because of the more free time given she was able to create Dream and Nightmare, or their names being Nightingale and Foxeye at the time. Their name changes are something that happened due to them not fully remembering their names when the villagers showed up. Nim dream and Nightmare where attacked by someone seeking to take Nim's horn. Some believed doing so would grant them immortality. a false myth. Nim had too Sacrifice herself to Save Nightingale and Foxeye (Nightmare and Dream) Making the tree. Dream and Nightmare would have a hard time remembering the time before the Tree of feelings. and so would have a hard time remembering their names. The Villagers started calling Nightingale Nightmare since he could only remember the Night part of his name. Foxeye somewhat bullied out of his real name being pressured to take on the name Dream as the Villagers where incredibly Superstitious about foxs. Dream only remembered the Fox part of his name. as for there being other Unicorns and Alicorns out there, their are probably a few Unicorns though they aren't very common nor do they show much of themselves. There are a few au's that probably have something similar but the magic is different. It isn't the same as the Ancient magic. The magic used by creatures not bound by au's. (Like the ancient dragons in my Au where Nightmare got adopted By a dragon Named Vira)

Reaper has one claimed unicorn Being Geno, and Life doesn't have any. But as said before There are several Unicorns that ha been claimed by the previous guardians that still hang around. Reapertale Paps isn't a unicorn as he wasn't selected for the role which isn't something he is mad about and he still talks with his brother. Reapertale papyyrus is currently just the death god for his world and finds that already has plenty of responsibility especially since reaper is now a guardian. The rest of the Pantheon's opinions on The Alicorns and Unicorns varies. (I am not an expert on reapertale and is you all want too tell me more it would be appreciated) Some are wary as the Unicorns and Alicorns have a tendency to be a little strange, that and most unicorns used to be mortal and now they are not exactly mortal.

contrahero headcanon for your troubles

hero went to smitten for advice on wooing contra, and smitten, among other things, taught hero the language of the flowers for the purpose of 'divulging the depths of his heart with an age-old art of secrecy and romance'.

hero isn't quite sure it's all that but gives contrarian bouquets anyway, each with unique and lovely meanings, left anonymously for them to find. It hasn't occurred to hero yet that contra doesn't actually know the language of the flowers and therefore can't interpret them, but contrarian does know that flowers are flowers, and that someone must be leaving them for them.

They haven't figured out who they're from yet, but finding new ones makes them smile every time. Smitten watches with binoculars from a distance and just about dies every time he sees the message hero left. He doesn't know contra doesn't get it and so he's very confused why contrarian hasn't yet proposed to this dashing young knight

I also associate Hero with buttercups and Contra with sunflowers (which are also a petnames I like them having for each other), so I searched their meanings in flower language just for funsies and OMG AKMSMDJFM

they’re meanings as told by google:

Sunflower: adoration, loyalty and longevity. Known as “happy” flowers, sunflowers are the perfect gift to bring joy to someone's day or as a treat for yourself.

Buttercup: humility, neatness, childishness, joy, new beginnings, and general happiness, friendship, and simplicity. +As an aside Spice CAN mimic a human as well as Sugar can if he really needs to; he just can't do it for very long (and he usually doesn't want to.) Ingo usually asks him to disguise fully as human whenever they go to the village together for whatever reason

so my landlord is, to put it lightly, an idiot. his family owns a bunch of properties, and although they are 100yo houses, he does not understand (or is willfully careless of) the amount of upkeep they require. he cheaps out on a lot of shit. the downsides of this are that he doesn't do repairs unless i make it his problem, i don't have working ventilation nor windows (nor a fire alarm, actually!), his repair guys make carelesses messes of everything, and somehow he ALWAYS manages to time shit so it ruins my halloween plans. (the upsides are that he has only raised rent once in 10 years, i can do minor shit he won't notice, so long as i presumably don't dig up the yard or cut a tree down.)

cue him deciding this week he is repainting the property.

a huge hassle because he cleared out all of my outdoor stuff and they're not putting it back which means, once again, that i can't put up halloween decorations, and also my hummingbird feeder is going straight to the ants, and also i no longer have doormats. presumably my basil will die if it gets up in the 90s again.

anyway i walked outside after his painter did his daily 4 hours of work (have i mentioned his repair guys are kind of careless and incapable?) and the paint samples are ELECTRIC green.

praying to god he's as color-untrained as he is stupid because i am about to have A HOUSE THAT CAUSES PROBLEMS ON PURPOSE

#the trim will be white which will be awful but MY GOD.#there are NOT MANY tones of green which qould qualify as MORE BRIGHT #it's not quite yellow noxious slimer green nor chromakey green but that is ONLY because it's maybe two shades too white.#that is. the only difference.#this is a historic (if sometimes blighted) neighborhood so oh boy hopefully this doesn't become a mess in my mailbox #also re: the trim i'm not sure how he's going to paint it all white because that's going to take like seven coats but #have i mentioned he's an idiot?

You must be wondering why I, the greatest of the greats, would ever willingly divulge this information to you. I will inform you of this reason now. You see, from the time both of us were very young we both developed an astounding internal propensity towards greatness. I simply could not resist the urge to claw and bite and hit my way towards the tower of hope and prosperity such an opportunity afforded, to do so would be paramount to spiritual imprisonment, and so I did what I had to do. Upon discovering that there was another like me, who one day may grow in power just as I had for so long, I set out on a journey to acquire the artifacts necessary to strip you of your claim to fame, thats right, i fought for years, against countless foes, in order to aquire all seven of the jaded dragon balls. And using their power I located you, and siphoned away your potential to add to my own. I could have struck you down but the last remaining vestiges of humanity in my soul forbade from doing so, and so you continued your existence a while longer. As time passed I was fortunate enough to gain the aid of a talented team of healers and doctors who were able to cleanse my soul of the darkness that had overtaken it from the great taxing effects of the siphoning event. With my humanity restored I came to the unsettling realization that in fact, by setting these events in motion I had inevitably created a villain. You see, the nature of the world is one of balance, and by concentrating both our immense powers into myself, I had upset this natural order. Not only now is life as we know it in grave danger but there has been a resurgence of evil intent and power that has been growing and slowly infusing with your aura. Its effects are insidious and torturous, perhaps you have already begun to experience this malevolent energy corrupting you.

This brings us back to why I would reveal my one true weakness to you. You see, upon my time on the wonderful planet we call home, I have spent a number of years studying the philosophies and cultures of people around the world, and most all of them have an underlying thread of compassion. And so it is with a heavy hand that i offer you the great equalizer in our battle. The only way you stand a chance is to use it, and use it you must because though your spirit is inevitably being destroyed and ravaged by the darkness of johnny silverhand, your life is no more or less important than my own. There is evidence that suggests that should you win in this battle, which i doubt, that my spirit and thus power will be released into the greater biosphere, redistribution of this energy will allow the darkness inside you to dissipate over time as well, though I warn you, it shall not be easy.

I'd say that his wings actually used to be inverted color-wise (like w the darker gold on the feathers) and I only switched it after I realized it made more sense markings-wise because of the stripe on his back but acknowledging the back stripe does not help me in beating these allegations LMAO but yeah its a funny coincidence
