I made this amazing soup. It’s the second time I’ve made it because it was a Home Chef meal originally and I liked it so much I made it again and I think it came out even better the second time. I made a couple changes because the home chef recipe called for some weird stuff like concentrated chicken broth, which they give you in a packet, but doesn’t seem to exist in stores, so I just used chicken broth instead of water and whatever this concentrated chicken broth is. And Home Chef also gives you what they call “cream base”, so I just used heavy cream. And I used hot Italian sausage instead of regular Italian sausage. And I also couldn’t get asiago cheese in the store??? So i used some grated 3 cheese Italian blend.
I also only put in about 2/3 of an onion instead of a whole onion.
Anyway, it’s called something like Asiago Zuppa Toscana, which I found out is a twist on a Soup from Olive Garden, which is a twist on traditional Tuscan Soup.
Anyway, it has hot italian sausage, kale, onions, carrots, garlic, chicken broth, and heavy cream in it and it’s so good. I was reading about it and it looks like the Olive Garden version also has potatoes in it, but I don’t think it needs potatoes or rice or anything like that, as long as you have enough kale in it. I love kale in soup. You can’t taste it but I like the texture. It doesn’t get soggy. It just gets less crunchy when it’s cooked, if that makes sense.

Zuppa Toscana With Heritage Pork Sausage & Wild Boar Bacon
Zuppa toscana is a traditional Italian soup originating in Tuscany. It’s really easy to make and full of flavor with a little kick (if you desire) from crushed red pepper. Our heritage pork mild Italian sausage was practically made for this recipe, and it’s a match made in heaven with our wild boar bacon. This flavorful soup is delicious, creamy and satisfying with thinly sliced potatoes and chopped kale. It’s a real crowd pleaser and perfect for soaking up with breadsticks.
Ingredients:
🍴 1 lb heritage pork mild Italian sausage
🍴 Crushed red pepper
🍴 5 slices wild boar bacon, roughly chopped

🍴 3 cloves of garlic, minced
🍴 Sea salt to taste
🍴 8 ½ cups bison bone broth
🍴 6 red potatoes, sliced thin
