Hmm. How many days did I skip the allergy med? I don't think it was a full week. Could it have coincided with energy? What would happen if I take them on alternate days? Already took tonight, so I'll try skipping tomorrow. Not running the forced air, anyway.

Gene site testing doesn't have allergy meds on it. (I'm thinking, what if I'm a poor metabolizer, so it's more sedating?)

Google says fexofenadine is the least sedating antihistamine. Next is loratadine, which I should have. I'll try playing around with the allergy meds and see if that helps. Really wish I hadn't already taken tonight.

(And of course, it could be completely unrelated.)

thinking about how in the fuck the Darkside actually works, and immediately distracted by the question of what the physical effects of it are, biologically speaking. like yes yellow eyes (which?? how. why. how) etc but also. the darkside (maybe just the Sith? canon as far as I know is Not very specific here, if anyone has specifics please tell me) is reaching out to the force with anger and fear, more or less, which, aside from the mental impacts is probably not like. good. for you.

stress is bad for you! like, physically bad! it fucks your immune system, your musculature, your digestion... ditto for adrenaline. depending on anger and fear to do anything is like, Not Recommended because it fucks you up! and that's without being a space wizard doing tricks and shit!

all of which leads to: the empire 100% has insane anti-histamine supplies, and/or insane anti-histamine supply issues.

fear/anger/stress make the immune system go into overdrive (potentially useful short term, bad long term)-> the darkside is used via fear/anger-> the empire runs on the darkside and is also a fascist dictatorship (notoriously not a low stress environment to start with) = every darksider and probably every being in the galaxy is popping space!zytec and space!benadryl like they're candy.

(relatedly, this is my new crack theory on the whole 'hauling spice for the hutts' thing, because you can refine Sudafed into speed so probably you could go the other way if you have to [I am not a chemist please don't @ me] and it's very funny to me to think of the space drug trade centred on decongestants)

the thing about that old undersiders road trip post is that i never said this but it’s true.

on the godawful 48 hour undersiders road trip lisa is either having the worst time out of everyone there including brian who very nearly killed alec and is having a panic attack in the back seat or she’s dissociating so incredibly hard that she’s not even there. or maybe both.

She's smiling placidly at the people taylor passes on the highway (at 45 mph over the speed limit), through her x-treme strength sunglasses, while in her head it's the aftermath of a simurgh battle. On levels of migraine never seen before or since in human history, she hasn't slept since last month, and she's absentmindedly thumbing the pin on a deactivated grenade aisha bought at the yard sale they stopped at for some reason. She's aware that it's deactivated but wishful thinking can be calming. she's eating breath mints like candy because she keeps throwing up and swallowing it back down so nobody can tell. the breath mints are making her more nauseous but she continues to do it anyway
