When the moon cannot be seen the Earth does not feel alone in the darkness, for it knows after some time its light will come again,

my love, when loneliness has shadowed your heart, hold on, for like the moon never leaves the sky, our Rabb has not left you.

وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِ‌يبٌ

And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me – indeed I am near. (2:186)

When the soul feels trapped in an endless gloom, we can sometimes shy away from the comfort of our loved ones,

we sometimes use our remaining energy to bottle up the sorrow within our eyes

we sometimes let our pillow hold our tears like the clouds hold the rain

we sometimes painfully whisper to ourselves "how do I carry on in this world"

because our hearts feel exhausted from pumping blood within our dry veins

and our minds feel numb from the prickles of our thoughts,

But, O servant of Allah, allow your lips to grieve the contents of your heart, allow your mind to build the courage to remove the thorns that are numbing you down, and allow your soul to rest in His remembrance. For He does not care how much darkness engulfs the walls of your heart, otherwise why would He say

وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ٱدْعُونِىٓ أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ ۚ

Call upon me; I will respond to you (40:60)

Whenever your heart feels hope escaping, look to the spring trees, they are no stranger to sabr, for their leaves could only bloom after passing through the bitter winter.

our Rabb made your heart rain with guilt so that you may seek shelter in His forgiveness

so have tawakkul in the one Who makes the sun rise even after a storm

for surely if the world can feel the warmth of the sun then one day my love you shall too.
