Longing

Barbatos can't remember how long it's been. It must've been millenia since he first saw them in his visions. He always had been conflicted when it came to his visions, as it was never clear which time line it would be the future of. In general he came to find they mostly concerned how the current future would go, should they continue with their actions. Thanks to him Devildom had always been prepared to face threats ahead of time.

Although, he couldn't say his visions were something he looked forward to. They were unpredictable, either completely useless or events with possibly disastrous results. Never had he thought to describe them as pleasant or even lovely. Perhaps his mind just wasn't searching for lovely things to see. All of that changed after he saw them for the first time all those thousands of years ago.

It was one of the rare times he actually slept, let alone in a timely manner. That night he had a vision of a Human, a very special Human. He saw them infront of a stove looking down at a plate of sweet treats and tea. They looked up and smiled at him, complementing his baking skills. Strange... this was the first time he remembered having a vision from his perspective. Besides that; he didn't bake. He made excellent tea, that's true but his culinary experience was lacking to say the least. That was not his responsibility but the royal chef's.

He tried brushing it off in the morning, focusing on serving the young Prince instead. It likely would have been a lot easier if it weren't for that strange lacking he felt. The vision left a sickeningly sweet taste in his mouth and had his heart beating loudly in his chest. That was new.

He started looking forward to these visions of them, as short as they were, when they started reappearing. He knew near to nothing about that mysterious Human, neither name nor status or even interests. The time of which it'd take place was unclear also, the Devildome barely changed from what he knew, but their way of talking was so different from what he was used to, just like their clothing and mannerisms.

Never had he particularly felt connected to his sin, that being greed. The last time must've been... maybe close to a hundred thousand years ago. He himself, ironically, had trouble keeping track of his lifetime. I guess being an allmighty Demon looking through time and space does that to you. Ever since they appeared in his visions though, he felt almost impatient. Barbatos wanted to meet them, to get to know all about them and spoil them rotten. He wanted their attention, all of their time. It felt good to finally have an outlet for his sin. He even started picking up new hobbies such as baking and cooking, mainly due to curiosity since he apparently will be such a wonderful chef in the future. He found it came easily to him, and it was a whole lot of fun. His master would be pleased with the delicious pastries and meals he'd cook up and he could entertain himself in some way.

To know that he was the only one aware of the Humans (future) existence pleased him. It satiated part of his greed, but only helped to strengthen his longing.

Over the years he grew even more stoic, professional and experienced. He carried himself with grace and poise elegantly catering to the royal family, they had quickly become his number one priority. The visions didn't stop, he learned to weaken his greed, there were more important things to deal with in the present. While part of him wanted to know who they are and when he'll finally get to see them, he knew it would only serve to distract him more. Instead he relished in the fact of not knowing when he'll meet that mysterious Human. Finally he had something to look forward to in life, a goal to reach. But never would he have imagined just how important that Human would end up being, not just to him but to all those around him.

Headcanons about the Obey Me brothers (Mammon, Leviathan, Lucifer, Belphagor and Beelzebub)

Mammon

• Mammon does a little dance when he gets excited, mostly after winning something. He calls it 'the Mammon Groove' everyone else calls it cute stupid.

• He talks very loudly and can't always control it, due to ADHD.

• He heckles like ~ kekekeke ~ when he plans a new get-rich-quick scheme. And lets out a bird like scream when he gets scared. That's why no one enjoys watching horror movies with Mammon. It sounds like they're strangling a turkey.

• He picks on his food. Eats little bites from everything in no order. Lucifer tried making him quit because he's very messy while doing it. But it didn't work, has since given up.

• He's really good at mimicking voices, only Lucifer can tell when it's Mammon.

• Mammon will hoard anything shiny under his bed and forget about it. So there's like forks from the year 1469 that he once stole from the Queen or smt.

Leviathan

• Levi doesn't have to blink in his Demon and True Form. His eyes are covered with thin, see through scales, his eyes have a shiny, iridescent look to them because of it.

• He forgets to blink in his Human Form, so his eyes are often irritated and dry. They're constantly reddened and teary due to it. Asmo hates it and forces him to take eye drops. Like literally forces, he holds him down-

• He picks at his skin a lot. MC freaked out when he pealed off a chunck of his arm skin. But no worries, his skin is thick and he has more layers than humans.

• Has a slight lisp because snake.

• Hisses when he's being dramatic. "Levi get up-" "HIZZZZZZZ NO THE SUN! I'M BURNING-"

• Cuddling with him is like doing yoga. He finds a way that his left leg will end up on your shoulder, his right leg wrapped around your left, his left arm around your waist, his right arm around your neck, and his head under your arm-

• His tongue just bleeps often. It just hangs out his mouth while playing games, or when he's sewing. Anytime he's focused.

• Has a split tongue and can do tricks with it (not like that you pervert-). Thought about getting it pierced, but got stuck on where he could even get it pierced and freaked out at the thought of someone having to look in his mouth. What if his breath smells bad, what if he drools, what if his teeth are-

• His fangs in his Demon Form are venomous, but they only work on Demons. Angels get something like blood poisoning from it. And for Humans it's like taking LSD.

Belphagor

• Everything about Belphie is soft, except his tongue. That bitch feels like sand paper. And he uses that as an advantage when MC messes with him. Sadistic fuck (endearment) only laughs at their misery.

• Has the most beautiful lashes you will ever see. Asmo is shaking in his chanel boots (I wanted to put gucci first but Mammons a gucci guy, Asmo so isn't-). Literally so pretty. Has double lashes (two rows).

• On the theme of eyes, his eyes are gorgeous. Uses that to his advantage also. One pity look and you wanna give him your social security number. They're big and always a little droopy with sleepyness. The only one who can deny him is Beel surprisingly.

• Loves laying on grass. It's the perfect sleeping spot for him.

• Have you seen shampooed cows? His hair is always that fluffy. Once went a month without washing it so it just hung flat, straight down. Then the brothers forced him to take a bath.

• Beel and Belphie, flies and cows ya get it-

• When scared he does that thing that goats do where he runs then falls and acts dead. Just that he's a little gremlin who's waiting for the person to get close enough to attack- It doesn't work on his siblings unfortunately. Be warned, if MC goes anywhere near him then they will be dragged down and cuddled to death. Belphie just lays on them so they can't escape.

• Huffs when frustrated, Beel got that from him.

Lucifer

• Lucifer spends a surprising amount of time grooming himself for how busy he is. Barely anyone notices, but he constantly readjusts his cuffs, gloves, hair, etc. Always takes a quick look in the mirror when there is one. Either smirks, because 'of course, everything is perfect' or furrows his brows and tucks an out of place hair back.

• Walks elegantly with long strides. Never seeming to be in a hurry unless it's an emergency.

• Holds his head high. Very intimidating to lower class Demons.

• Lucifer despises to admit that he also makes sounds close to a Peacocks ~ gobble gobble ~. He only does so when someone scares him, you can guess how many times that happens. Once MC startled him because he forgot they were still in his office. After he made that sound he didn't dare look MC in the eyes for the next week.

• He rattles his feathers to impress or intimidate. When MC is near him whilst he's in his Demon or True form you can observe him constantly flexing his wings and spreading them out to catch their attention.

• Affectionately fixes his brothers and MCs appearances when something's out of place. That's why Satan wears his jacket so fucked. Lucifer helped him put it on once, he took the sleeve off again so they had a fight about his sleeve. Had to stick with it from then on, it's a pride (or wrath ig) thing.

• If someone would pick him up never gonna happen his wings go ~ flop flop ~ because his brain is like 'oh okay, we're flying now'. If your MC is super strong please live mt dream and princess cary Luci around.

• He ties MCs shoes and zips up their jackets for them. He used to do that with the brothers, but they always complain that they're not children anymore. Let the dad be a dad goddamit-

Beelzebub

• Give Beel sugar water. Just water with sugar, he will nip on it for the next hour. It's like a drug, but more weed than cocaine. It calms him down and he just goes blank.

• He rubs his hands together as a habit like flies do.

• His standard position is one hand holding the other. He often rubs his thumb over the back of his other hand to calm down. Tries calming MC if they're worried by grasping their hands in his.

• Beel has trouble registering purely white objects. So when MC held a paper infront of his face he just went 😟

• Sometimes his eyes 'glitch' and he sees double. Has a lazy eye prob.

• In his demon form his wings go ~ buzz buzz ~ randomly.

• Insect phobia triggered

• He huffs when angry, a habit he got from Belphie.

• Beel feels naturally drawn to light, so he subconsciously sits closest to the next light source always. That's why he likes standing so close to MC, cuz to them humans glow (personal hc).

• Similar to Levi Beel sometimes forgets to blink. In his demon and true form he has a very thin, irredecant layer of skin covering his eyes. In his demon and true form it kinda looks like his eyes have multiple sections due to it. Kinda like how a fly's eyes look.

• Beel loves the smell of sweat-

• MC just done running from an angry Lucifer or smt idk, just sweaty and Beel's like "You smell good MC 😊"

• He's like a fly fr. You leave your food out for a second turn around, turn back and he's there on your plate-

Cuz I've really been in a levi stan mindset recently here's some hcs about levi and fanfictions

• He has a secret akupatt account (L3VIACHAN_03) where he posts tsl fanfictions. He's got a really popular ongoing one in which the tsl cast (cough cough only Henry and the third Lord) just go on more adventures. The others are mostly one shots about his otp Henry × reader Lord of Shadows. They all have obnoxious titles that detail the plot like "My best friend went on a dangerous mission to retrieve my prized statue from my scummy brother who is holding them hostage so now I have to save them!" Or "My annoying brothers keep trying to steal my one true friend's attention so we end up dueling over their affection but they end up stopping us to choose me" or "My brother killed my best friend and despite their reincarnation I struggle to cope with that very traumatic event and now fear he might hurt them again".

• What do you mean? "They sound familiar" no way they do! They're totally not based off real life events.

• But now that we're talking about real life events. He has another even more secret account under which he writes MC × reader fics. He's really active and writes novel worthy ideas down the moment they come to mind, which means he's hanging out with MC and thinks of something super smooth he could say or do but gets too flustered to actually do it so instead he writes fanfics abt it after. These fanfics are actually pretty popular. MC is a celeb in a way, there's no demon who hasn't heard of them. They're like Venom for the Monster fuckers to the Human fuckers. Mammon and Satan read Levis fanfics (Mammon doesn't know it's Levi, Satan does but doesn't say anything cuz the fics are really good. Asmo, Beel and Belphie also know but they usually don't read them. Unless MC's in the Human Realm. And Asmo only does cuz Levi writes smut sometimes. Levi doesn't know they know of his account, but does know that they know that he writes fanfics. No one lets Lucifer know cuz he might forbid him from doing so. Lucifer has thought of looking up fanfictions when MC was gone cuz he missed them so much but his pride wouldn't let him.)

• As anonymous president of MC Simps aka their schools MC fanclub (unofficial obvi) all the members read his fanfics and give him feedback. Though be careful, don't get too passionate talking bout MC...

• (He also has an anonymous fanpage for the ship of him and MC. He trashes all other ships and starts shipping wars, which, if ya know, are deadly. He reblogs all shipping content from drawings to fanfics to edits to just weird, stalker-y photos from them.)

[SPOILERS FOR S3]

I still remember that one lesson where MC essential time travels back to when the brothers were still angels, because of Solomon's sandwiches. I believe they actually went back in time since there's so much that hints that isn't a dream.

So imagine, Lucifer who is both hopelessly in love with LN and terrified of the consequences that will inevitably come with it. Then Asmo and Beel find an "angel" they've never met before. Belphie, Beel and Asmo then bring them to the "secret hideout" of the brothers where Levi's already waiting and Mammon soon joins. All are gathered and having a good time with MC, who still thinks it's a dream. Mammon thought they looked familiar but couldn't quite grasp who they were again.

Then, Lucifer enters. Imagine that way his heart stopped upon seeing MC there. "...LN?" His voice was barely louder than a whisper, but loud enough for Mammon to hear. With big eyes and his mouth agape he stared at MC, who was thoroughly confused. Then they remembered, Lucifer told them about his LN- about them. Now all brothers are staring at MC, completely shocked and confused.

You better believe that when Lilith joined and everyone processed what they were seeing, Lucifer's siblings were celebrating and asking MC all kinds of questions, that MC didn't know the answers of. Lucifer was just confused why they were in the Celestial realm- Oh no! Did they die!? Wait, no. That's impossible. When that thought escaped his mind it was once again overcome by paranoia. What if Michael finds them? Or Raphael? As soon as his father were to hear that a human his favourite son calls lover entered the Celestial realm, one can only imagine his wrath. He's more worried what might happen to his siblings and LN than himself.

How do you think a confrontation would go? Would MC explain everything? But they still believe they're in a dream so...

Imagine: Instead of Lilith falling in love with a human, it's Lucifer. He met a human while watching over Lilith on her first time in the human realm. Fate seemed to have it out for him, because he keeps running into them coincidentally. Slowly Lucifer finds himself returning to the human even when Lilith and Belphagor aren't in the human realm. He falls in love with them and is soon found out by his father after his lover fell ill. He spend more time with them, attempting to nurse them back to health. But when all fails, he grabbed healing herbs from the celestial realm, effectively curing them. But all at the cost of having to confront his disappointed father. "I'll give you one last chance. You will never set a foot near the human, return to your duty and we shall all forget this mishap." But he couldn't. Lucifer decided to fall, to face his fate. His siblings however protested, insisting it to be unfair to their older brother. A war within the celestial realm broke out. Lilith gets shot by an arrow still. Lucifer pledges his loyalty to Diavolo so in exchange he'd save Lilith. Lilith was reincarnated in the human realm where she lived the rest of her days peacefully, befriending Lucifer's lover whose only remaining reminder of Lucifer is a last goodbye letter.

Lucifer blames himself for Lilith's death, more so than in the original. Most of brothers share the same standpoint they had in the original timeline. Belphagor still blames the human, holding a grudge against Lucifer's feelings. Not Lucifer himself even if it seems that way, just his love for that damn, pathetic human. Satan, who everyone thought of as Wrath incarnate, fails to see that it was two emotions creating him. Anger and Love. Why else is he a hopeless romantic dreamer, daydreaming of adventure and adoration. Lucifer takes on a more openly father role, rather than sibling. Inwardly viewing him as his and his lovers child.

Now, in present day, the human exchange student stands infront of them. An exact replica of Lucifer's past lover.

I CAN'T- POOR LUCI 💀💀💀

It's so interesting how everyone who played that event just agrees that it was horrible to sit through. When they didn't turn back in the end I was so mad!!

I feel like Lucifer would get even more uncomfortable than he was in the event already. He'd hate to see his brothers and himself in their old clothes. It brings back so many memories that he'd rather forget. And to see his son be so conflicted with his own identity doesn't make it any easier for him. You can bet he'd have a talk with Diavolo and Simeon after this.

Maybe Diavolo wanted to help Lucifer and MC reconnect. MC lost all memory of him since they were reincarnated, maybe seeing him how he used to look would help them regain some of their lost memories. It's been a couple thousand years after all, Lucifer's changed quite a bit since then.

Surprisingly, when MC took a look at Lucifer they stopped for a second. That looks familiar... Maybe there was a painting of him somewhere? But no way Lucifer would allow a painting of him back when he was an angel to be on display. Perhaps a dream? But why would they dream of Lucifer, and why would it be so accurate to reality. Lucifer noticed MCs staring, of course he did. He'd be lying if he said it didn't make his heart flutter a bit. For a brief moment a hopeful thought crossed his mind, did they remember him? But he quickly dismissed that wish. How heartbroken he'd be if he allowed himself to get his hopes up.

That was something Lucifer also thought back in the Celestial realm. The thought of him, the Morningstar, being romantically involved with a human was laughable at best. Oh, how many nights he stayed up, restlessly turning in his bed because his mind was consumed by thoughts of his dearest human. Anything they gave him was kept safely in a locked drawer in his room. If anyone were to find out about his love affair he'd be doomed. And... he was. He just never thought his brothers would follow, or that he'd not only lose his beloved LN but also his youngest sister...

These thoughts came back to mind. Were they painful? Absolutely. But at least they're here now.

He likely teied to stay away from MC as much as possible. The desire to keep tgem close was overwhelming, but something within or on him told him it'd be a bad idea. That bangle sure was annoying. But shocker, it's extremely hard to stay away from MC. Not that he'd ever actually want to. Never again.

When MC brought him coffee and sat down with him in his room, Lucifer could feel his stress momentarily fade away. Now, picture his face when MC told him he looked familiar in his old clothes. He almost spit the coffee back out, barely catching himself only to end up having a coughing fit. Breathing in the coffee was not a good alternative, as it turns out. You won't believe how badly he wanted to use this chance, to tell them everything that he kept from them for the past year or so. But that damned bangle kept him from revealing everything. "Don't worry about it, MC. I'm sure it's nothing." What kind of answer was that!??

After they got rid of those things, Lucifer pondered if he completely missed his shot or should finally explain everything to MC...

Feel free to expand on this! What else I'd like to think about is; how Lucifer and his siblings handled the entire thing with his human lover back in the Celestial realm.

Now, in present day, the human exchange student stands infront of them. An exact replica of Lucifer's past lover.

The amount of serotonin I got from this! I felt more in the last couple minutes than in my entire life-

Lucifer probably threatened MC because he hoped to keep them out of harms way. Unfortunately MC practically attracts chaos. Just imagine the shame he felt when he threatened the love of his life and couldn't even keep them safe! And to MC he just seemed like a violent asshole!! No wonder the brothers tried to set them up that one time. Lucifer was so depressed and even more harsh than usual with his punishments-. It got really sad to look at.

But I would love to hear your thoughts on it!

• MC having a nightmare about the Celestial War •

Arrows flew by, piercing through clouds. The sound of swords clashing and spells being casted could be heard. Siblings betraying each other, fighting for what they believe justice to be. How cruel.

I can feel a sharp burn stunning me for a second. As I looked down I could see my scratched up legs. The dark liquid ran down my foot, dripping down and falling into nothingness. The once white robe was now dyed black. The fabric clung uncomfortably to my body, the golden armour dug into my shoulders and head making me dizzy. I could hear my ragged breath just slightly over the heavy beats of my heart.

My senses were overstimulated, given no time to process anything.

Suddenly I feel my body rushing forward a spear was pierced into the leg of another Angel who howled in pain, before they were shoved aside. I saw Asmodeus nod at me, he was also covered in armour and carried a weapon with him. His robe was similarly soaked but he thankfully seemed alright.

My eyes fell on Belphagor after Asmodeus flew off. My heart pounded faster.

He was fighting of another Angel, thrusting his spear into the Angels chest. Nausea overcame me. The sickeningly sweet smell of blood tormented my senses. I could feel my eyes tear up. What was happening? And why? This nagging sense of dread crawled up my spine. Guilt, as if it was I who started this war...

Wait... war...

My brief moment of clarity was interrupted as I hear someone shout; "Lilith!" Then I felt a sharp, gut wrenching pain. It spread throughout my entire body. Tears spill as I gasp for air. My wings give in as I descend into the darkness bellow.

For a brief moment my eyes lock with Beelzebub's. Shock, sorrow, guilt. I could feel it, he was frozen in place. Belphagor, who had clung to Beelzebub previously now let out a heartbreaking screech. His shout rang in my ears as I feel my conscience slipping. The pained cries were the last thing I heard.

I jolted awake. Silence. My room was quiet with the exception of the breeze outside, shaking the trees ever so gently.

This silence reflected in my body. I felt empty for a moment, like a husk, a breathing corpse. That emptiness was interrupted by a chocked sob. I turn to the side and curl up, my shaking hands pressed over my mouth. I shake violently and am overcome with everything at once. My hands do little to stifle my sobs, surely they could still be heard in the hall. But I didn't know how to face the brothers now.

I've had dreams of Lilith's memories before but they had always been pleasant. Sweet moments with her brothers or old friends. But this pain I've felt... my mind couldn't begin the process it.

The wind outside my window picks up, getting stronger the more I cry. It was clear to me, I was having a panic attack. I've never had a panic attack, not like this. My lungs were aching, I couldn't move my legs, I was sweaty and shaking while pathetically trying to keep my voice down.

I wanted this to end. This felt horrible, this anguish felt like too much. I hadn't realised how loud my sobs have gotten, untill Beelzebub storms into my room. I would've hidden my face, but as of now I could barely think.

"MC? MC are you okay?" He asked with panic and urgency. Beel hesitated, he didn't want to hurt or frighten MC more than they had been already. But he needed to know what was going on. Imagine his fear when he ventured through the halls, thinking about the delicious sandwiches he left for his midnight snack, only to hear violent sobbing coming from MC's room. He was scared they might be hurt, or something attacked them. Thankfully, he could now tell that that wasn't the case. They were having a panic attack, Beel presumed. He experienced the same thing after the war... his nightmares might be bad, but they're sweet dreams compared to back then. Though it didn't take away from his worry.

Beel tried hard to think of what his brothers had done back then. Carefully he moved the blanket off MC, and slowly placed a hand on their back while encouraging to take a deep breath. But MC just started sobbing more. Heartbroken, Beel whimpered. He felt like crying too. He's promised to protect MC, but he can't even calm them down during their panic attack.

The distress his twin felt woke Belphie up. His first thought was that Beel was having a nightmare again, but he wasn't in his bed. Second, maybe someone ate his food? But it wasn't anger or even dissapointment, it was a much deeper sorrow. Maybe even guilt?

Belphie thought he had an idea, Beel might be in the mimick of Lilith's room. But what he heard once he exited tgeir room into the hall told him everything he needed to know.

Hurriedly he stepped into MC's room. And, as he thought, Beel was trying to calm MC down. Belphie patted Beels shoulder who only looked up with desperation. Belphagor knew what Beel was thinking, he was too. Carefully he placed a hand on MC's head and stroked their hair gently, while he let his magic fill the room. As the Avatar of Sloth and Nightmare Demon, he could coerce people into a deep slumber but MC wouldn't ever be exposed to magic of that level. They only needed to calm down a little. And surely, after a while they calmed enough to move again.

As soon as they meet eyes with the twins, they practically jumped to envelop them in their arms. Desperately clinging to them they stuttered out vague sentences; "So much blood- Sick- too much pain- my legs- please-"

Beel carefully removed himself after a few minutes, "I'll go get Lucifer. He'll know what to do." While Belphie continued to cradle MC in his arms.

[Mammon is a heavy sleeper but their pact connects them. So he started having a nightmare as well. It was about MC's death. When Belphie killed them. When he woke up he ran to MC's room, tearing Belphie away from MC, only stopped by his other brothers.]

[Ghost Lilith lowkey shared this by accident and freaked out when she realised what she just shared. Felt so sorry-]

SPDJFJGJF I LOVE IT!

But think about what would happen if MC doesn't remember their past life. Lucifer having to struggle with whether to open up to them. Would they believe him? Could they feel their connection? What if they despised him for leaving? He didn't really explain anything in that letter. Hell, his lover didn't even know he was an angel! And despite the overwhelming urge to wrap his arms around them and never let go, his pride persisted. He tried so hard to look like nothing was wrong when MC arrived in the Devildome. But his brothers, Diavolo and Barbatos knew. Diavolo gave Lucifer a reassuring smile, which Lucifer barely noticed. All his focus was on that human, that human that looked and acted just a bit too much like his love.

When Mammon arrived and noticed how Lucifer was looking that the human, he immediately understood. It brought him back to a time before the war. Lucifer once again had snuck out to the human world, but this time the brothers and Lilith caught him when he tried to sneak inside again. But his family weren't just anyone. When he explained everything, Lilith and Belphie almost did backflips with how excited they were. A forbidden romance! How romantic! Mammon still remembers MCs face, because he once followed Lucifer to the Human-realm. Truth is, he was concerned for his older brother, though he would never admit that. He also remembers the fond smile on Lucifer's face. The way he seemed to shine even brighter than usual whenever his human was near. But Mammon, just like back then, doesn't know what to do. It pain to see his brother so... desperate, helpless, lonely...

Satan immediately felt like he recognised MC also. He didn't know what it was, but it was almost like he'd seen them somwhere... A dream maybe? No, it felt realer than a dream. Are you-" Lucifer cleared his throat, hinting to Satan that he should stop talking now. But Satan also knew that look that Lucifer gave him "we'll talk later".
