SMALL CONSOLATIONS FOR LETTING IT SLIP BY UNNOTICED
A little karaoke poem I wrote back in 2019. Between writing and illustrating this poem, a global pandemic happened, the bar shut down, we stopped singing karaoke, we found new places to sing karaoke, I painted my kitchen, and I got a cat. I miss the old Sackville but I like the new Sackville too.
(From my zine, Small Consolations, made with support from The Canada Council for the Arts. Thanks to them!)

Just found your account and have fallen head over heels in love with your zines. There's such a delicacy and tenderness to your poetry and art, the vibrant yet slightly muted colors, rendering each seed on a strawberry, capturing the smallest of details of things to cherish their beauty. I especially adore "Small Consolations for Lazy Gardeners" and "Dear Old Friend" (that first stanza, "I've been pretending that death is a dream, / something for others, for an unlikely future, for fiction..." hit right in the heart.) I look forward to getting more acclimated with your work in the future!
This is really kind! Thank you for reading!

DEAR CORRESPONDENT
Here's an older one from 2018. I still like this drawing of my clogged bathroom sink.
The bar is the bar. The parking lot, the parking lot.
