Across the Canadian Rockies (Banff National Park) by Mark Stevens
Via Flickr:
A setting looking to the west while taking in views across a forest of evergreens to more distant ridges and peaks of the Waputik Range at Hector Lake Viewpoint. This is in Banff National Park along the Icefields Parkway. In composing this image, I decided on a more leveled-on view with the horizon. I felt I could capture a view looking over and across the forest to the more distant mountains. I liked how there was that little sliver of the lake to highlight a contrast between the forest and mountains.

Trees of wisdom...
If you think trees are blind
You are being very unkind,
Trees are the roots of our history
Full of stories, full of mystery.
They listen, watch, do not speak
Do they smile if you take a peek?
I think of Isaac Newton, the apple
Gravitational theory, all before chapel.
Churchill musing under a tree
Cigar held, how can brits be free?
Will we lose? Will we win?
WW II, such suffering a sin.
Trees have branches, leaves, some fruit
Mother Nature, so very astute .
Trees hide, will guide, never go away,
Listen attentively to all you say.
