Chapter Summary: The answer to a whispered question lifts Shouta and Toshinori to breathtaking heights, while an unexpected occurrence on Izuku and Shouto's date could threaten their very relationship.

Excerpt:

. . ."Do you think you can trust me?"

It was direct, but the look in Shouta's eyes made Toshinori want to bury the familiar demon of self-deprecation lurking below the surface. He wanted desperately to not only feel good about himself, but share this special moment with this exceptional man that he'd pined after for so long.

"Completely," Toshinori whispered, and with a tremulous breath began to pull his oversized t-shirt up his abdomen, revealing his twisted torso. When it came up over his head and joined the one already on the floor, he glanced anxiously up at Shouta.

The man's bloodshot gaze felt like lasers concentrating on every deformity, judging every ragged mountain and canyon of scar tissue that made up over thirty percent of the ravaged remains of Toshinori Yagi's torso. But those rough, calloused fingers passed over the wounds left behind by All For One, tracing the scars to their epicentre, the terrible and powerful blow that had decimated half of Toshinori's internal organs.

"Christ," Shouta breathed as he drew in deeper, running his fingers along the scar's winding canyons. "This is... "

Toshinori's mouth twitched back into a wry, bitter smile.

"Repulsive?" he offered. "Grotesque?"

Shouta delivered an admonishing smack to Toshinori's hip for the negative defence mechanism.

"Tch… if you like," he frowned, "but I was gonna say it's fucking respectable."

And Toshinori finally dared to look up, beholding a knit brow of intense concentration... reverence, consideration, sympathy. Not a hint of disgust to be seen.

"...Oh," he squeaked, his face warm.
