I want to improve my art in 2024 so i've decided to draw a flower a day (on paper)! i'll try to post the drawing and information about the flower for the day, wish me luck!

father’s day is funny in my family because my dad is so angry this holiday exists that it’s the one day of the year i am NOT allowed to call him. we are officially estranged for 24 hours a year. wishing him a happy father’s day is a declaration of hostilities.

and like he is a good dad with a good dad, there’s no traumatic backstory to this, he just hates The Man telling him what to do so much that it’s a personal affront that someone decided that anyone is supposed to feel a thing on a specific day or, god forbid, spend their hard earned dollars because shaving commercials tell them to. if a dad did his job right (be a good father who unconditionally loves his kids), his kids should love him 364 days a year but FUCK the 365th day to spite hallmark and gillette specifically and you know what. i respect it.

#artists on tumblr #illustration #animated illustration #animation #backgrounds #animated gifs #background illustration #myillust #landscape #plants #scenery #summer #hiii! just wanted to share an artwork i made that's super fresh from the oven ksfknsf #'the wandering painter' will be a series that consists of artworks that has elements that i struggle to draw and am trying to improve on! #ive always really struggled with the process of painting (for example) clouds fields grass grasslands flowers etc #despite the end result coming out satisfactory imo but i cant deny that it most of the time feels like a fluke #so this series would consist of my journey of improving how to draw said elements/areas more confidently :D #this artwork in particular - i studied and practiced how to paint/draw silver grass better along with grasses and clouds #i feel like im sorta getting the hang of it but theres definitely room to study and experiment how i can paint it better #so yeah! nonetheless i really hope you'll like this! and i hope you'll have a lovely day/night ahead <3333

Today's flower of the day is an easter lily!

Its scientific name is lilium longiflorum

It is a perennial bulb native to the Ryukyu islands of southern Japan.

It blooms in the summers.

While it is a beauty, it is known to be toxic to cats so beware.

In flower language, it is supposed to mean purity and rememberance

Also fun fact about today's illustration is i put eyeshadow on it, that is the shimmer. Why? I had eyeshadow on my table. And it's fun!

The highlight of my week was taking a break from the city to visit Winterbourne House & Garden. I enjoyed a scone, picked up this book, marvelled at some pretty flowers and worked on my stats assignment 🌷🌼💖🌻🌸✨
