Sugar-Tooth (Heinous Intent)
(NOT A PR0MPT)
You wanted a vampire. Read on.
Tumblr media
“Go away. You are not welcome in my home. I am not afraid of you.” It came out in a fast string, every word falling haphazardly into the next.
Something that blended in so well in the darkness shouldn’t have been felt. At least, it shouldn't have given Hero such a gut-wrenching feeling, with shivers and all, with so little as a dark gaze. Yet Hero could feel the vampire’s breath on his neck, and he squeezed his eyes shut in bed.
“Oh, my dear." The vampire's sweet laughter filled the air, and Hero hated how violins played a delicate tune in his ear. A wave rode down his spine.
He could submit so easily, and the vampire had barely done a thing. She put no effort into what she was doing, but Hero knew if he were standing right now, he'd be swaying on his feet like tall grass in a summer breeze.
As if the vampire were reading his mind, a gentle wind fluttered across his cheeks. He gasped, and the vampire clearly delighted in it as she giggled again.
"You were right about not being afraid. You enjoy my company."
"How did you get in here?"
Another melody played; Hero was almost lulled into a fitful sleep. The music was beautiful, reminding him of his childhood, rocking gently on shimmery waters in boats with the engine cut off.
"Stop," Hero slurred. "Stop- what do you want?"
"Entertainment. Something fun.” A flurry of high notes rang in Hero’s ears again. “You are quite handsome, you know?"
Handsome. Hero smiled at that. It was a lazy smile- uncontrolled and entirely thoughtless. The word was just...nice. It flattered him, even if he had been sweating moments before.
"Say, love, those sheets look soft. You wouldn't mind if I took the other half of the bed, would you?"
If she wanted to lay down, Hero could make room. She smelled good, like roses and lavender, sandalwood and pine trees, vanilla and...god, she smelled like heaven.
"How sweet, darling."
It was now that Hero saw the vampire's face. "Beautiful," he murmured- at her lips, cheeks, neck...How awful would it be to kiss her? To kiss those sweet spots and see how reluctant vampire skin truly was? The legends said they self-healed near instantly, but Hero wanted to see if his lips couldn’t make a difference anyway.
"You don't get enough attention, do you, sweetheart?"
Hero shook his head. Truthfully, he had no idea what she was saying, but in the moment, he didn’t feel it mattered. She was warm to lay next to, but cool to the touch.
Without thinking, Hero had leaned towards the vampire, lips pursed. He didn't care which part of her his lips touched- as long as it was skin.
It was her cheek, at first.
Then her lips as she turned towards him.
Then her neck as she looked away, exposing herself to his soft lips. (She knew he wouldn't bite.)
When she began lifting the bottom hem of her shirt, Hero sighed half-dreamily, half-impatiently. His lips found the skin of the vampire's collar bone soon after, then her chest, her stomach... He hummed along the way, delighting at the coolness which touched his warm mouth.
What got him here, he wasn't sure, but he only found himself lifting his head and opening his eyes to see if he had marked the vampire and all her damage-absorbent skin.
Pleased with the red blotches on her skin, Hero rolled back onto his side of the bed.
"Content with your adventures?" the vampire asked.
Hero felt the shift on the mattress, felt her climbing over into his own territory. He smiled as her stomach pressed against his. He nodded.
"You won't mind if I have my fun now." She was a creature of the night- of course she wasn't asking. And of course Hero didn't mind in the slightest, not with that music in the air.
"What will you do?" he finally had the sense to ask. His voice was no longer lulled by the melody, even if his mind had been occupied by it all along.
Now, it was the vampire's turn to hum. "Whatever I want." Just as she had previously done to herself, she began lifting Hero's shirt. Though opposite of Hero, she started low with sloppy kisses. As she climbed, the kisses became more precise, more directed...Moreover, they became full of heinous intent.
Reaching Hero's neck, the vampire whispered in his ear, "Turn away."
For the second time that night, Hero felt true fear. Turning away meant exposing himself, making himself vulnerable. Then again, hadn't he been vulnerable all along? Hadn't vulnerability began when he quavered at the presence of the vampire alone? And even more so when his mind was laid to rest with her musical laughter? When he trailed kisses down her body like only a lover would?
“Turn. I will not be so kind if I have to say it again.”
Hero refused. "You'll kill me."
A flitter of music played, and Hero cursed under his breath while simultaneously praying he wouldn't fall subject again.
"Darling, I was always going to kill you. This"- she curled a finger beneath Hero's chin and lifted up- "was just to make that precious blood flow faster. I find it sweeter that way."
Swallowing, Hero could only squeeze his eyes shut. He was letting his brain sway himself into his grave, for it was all he could do.
Finally, the vampire whispered, in her coy and candied voice, "I was always told I have quite the sugar-tooth."

Part 1 part 2 part 3
Tumblr media
"Wow..." I murmur in awe, looking at the massive medieval castle in front of my eyes.
"Why are we here?" I ask curiously, and Jenna smiles genuinely.
Tom stands behind us.
"It's the set for the new season... obviously all rented," Jenna says, pointing absentmindedly towards the building. The grandeur and impressive atmosphere of the castle leave me speechless.
"When do you start filming?" I ask curiously, looking around.
"Actually, in 10 minutes... but I'm running late," she confesses timidly.
"What? Then go," I say, laughing, and Jenna smiles, taking my hand.
"Come to my dressing room, they need to do my makeup and put on the wig," Jenna asks with a hint of a smile, looking at me with bright eyes.
We hear footsteps approaching.
"But, where the heck were you? You're late," my eyes shift towards the sound of the voice and I smile seeing Emma dressed as Enid.
The blonde girl with pink and blue streaks looks at us curiously"oh... you must be y/n" she says with a smile on her lips.
I turn to Jenna, and the girl blushes intensely.
"You talked about me?" I ask, and Jenna looks away, embarrassed.
"Just what was necessary," Jenna murmurs sheepishly.
"I know I'm late," Jenna says in a distressed voice. "I'm going now," she mutters.
"Move, because if Tim sees you like this... he'll give you a lecture," Emma says authoritatively.
Jenna sighs and tightens my hand, starting to walk towards her dressing room.
"Isn't Tom coming?" I ask, confused, looking at the bodyguard pacing near the car.
"No... when I'm working, he has free time," Jenna murmurs weakly and with a small smile, quickens her pace, dragging me along.
We reach the dressing room and enter. The atmosphere is filled with efficiency and vibrant colors, unlike the austere image I expected. "Here I am," Jenna announces, heading towards the makeup artist and hairstylist.
,"Out of curiosity, how did they get in?" I ask, and Jenna looks at me confused.
"What do you mean?" she asks curiously.
"Well... you sleep here, right? How did they get in?" I ask.
"Oh... when we're filming, theoretically, I go to where they are... but when I don't show up, I've given them spare keys to come wake me up," she says with a little smile.
"I see..." I murmur.
"They're professionals... I assure you they don't come to see me in the middle of the night," Jenna jokes, and I laugh timidly.
Jenna sits on the stool as the makeup artist begins to work with artistic skill. The instruments and products are organized, each ready to play its role in the enchanting transformation.
"So, Jenna, how do you prefer the makeup for this scene?" the makeup artist asks, focusing her gaze on her through the mirror.
"Something light but that accentuates the eyes, please. I want them to stand out in the key scenes," Jenna responds, with a focused expression.
The makeup artist begins to work masterfully, blending and mixing the colors to achieve the desired effect. Each stroke seems to be done with care and intention, creating a result that enhances Jenna's face without overwhelming it.
Meanwhile, the hairstylist works on the wig, patiently shaping it to fit Jenna's character. The dedication and passion of both artists in their work are palpable.
Jenna gradually relaxes, allowing herself to be guided by the skilled hands of the makeup and wig artists. The makeup is completed with a touch of gloss on the lips and a light blush on the cheeks.
"Ready, you're set to captivate on set," the makeup artist announces, admiring the work done.
Jenna smiles, satisfied with the result. The makeup artist and hairstylist leave the dressing room, looking at me with confusion and slight irritation.
"What do you think?" she asks, spinning around so I can get a better look at the full outfit. Jenna strikes a pose, lowers her head, and looks at me seriously through her lashes, imitating Wednesday without a doubt.
"You're amazing!" I exclaim sincerely, admiring the final result.
Jenna lights up at the praise. "Thank you, it's really nice to hear that our work is appreciated. Now, are you ready to witness the shots? You'll see how everything comes to life on set," Jenna murmurs, unconsciously rubbing a part of her lips.
"Wait," I murmur absentmindedly, approaching her.
The absence of heels emphasizes our height difference, and I stop just a few inches from her with a small smile. "What's up?" she whispers weakly.
I raise my hand and place my thumb on her lips, removing the lipstick that was close to her lips. Jenna closes her eyes at my touch.
"You had a bit of lipstick..." I say with a small smile, looking down at Jenna. She had lifted her chin and was looking at me through her long lashes, seriously.
"Thank you..." she confesses and then looks away, her cheeks flushed.
"Mmmh..." Jenna clears her throat. "So, shall we?" she asks with slight discomfort.
"Of course!" I reply, trying to dispel the tension with a smile. "I'm ready to discover the world behind the scenes."
Jenna nods, and we head towards the trailer's exit, ready to face the set and the start of filming. As we step out, I still feel the slight tension in the air, but also a new awareness of our friendship strengthening.
The set is a world of its own, full of activity and creativity. With every step, I feel more and more involved in this adventure, immersed in the magic behind creating a TV show.
Jenna introduces me to various team members, each with their crucial role in the production. There's a contagious energy in the air as we prepare for the takes. I can't wait to see Jenna in action and witness this spectacle coming to life, with her at the center of it all.

My Bright Star
Kickin' Chicken x reader {part 2}
>>(Part 1) , [part 3]
Summary: You're an orphan child from Playcare who came back to the factory 15 years later after you received a mysterious letter. (Time skip to chapter 3, the part where you fight catnap)
Warnings: gn!reader or fem!reader (whatever you want it be), fluff and angst, kickin's alive and a bit ooc, violence, blood, not proofread so there may be typos and other errors here
A/n: im honestly happy you guys are reading this shit😭 even if its a bit badly written! Here's part 2! I tried my best to narrate the boss battle in my own words. Hope you enjoy... You're up for one hell of a ride.
"Huff... Huff... That was... close! Damn that cat, you need a dental hygienist!" You panted after going through that hell of batteries and red smoke, pinching your nose from the gas. "And of course, I won't volunteer to be one." You sneered, brushing dust off of you.
You immediately went out of the Counselor's Office, but you paused at the door thinking about that dream. You were left hanging with so many questions to ponder about. In your train of thought, Kickin' flew to you and greeted you with a hug. Suprised by his move, you snapped back to reality and returned the hug. "I'm glad you came back in one piece, y/n." He smiled at you warmly.
"Oh was there ever a time I wasn't able to?" You chuckled, looking away from him awkwardly. Sarcasm was making its way into you. Kickin' was deadpan but laughed after a few seconds. You followed his chittering.
"Hey, uh, something's gone wrong. Grab the cord from the Counselor's Office and plug it in underneath the statue!" Ollie called. Ugh, of course he'll be calling. But you have no right to object, he's one of the only few sane people here after all. "We need to reach 100%!"
"Oh yeah, right! Got it." You snapped your fingers, " Goodluck." you went back to the building, grabbed the cord, and pulled it to the statue. "Okay, what was that goodluck for?" You whispered to yourself, Kickin' was behind you watching the surroundings in case something attacks.
"Wait here." You told Kickin' as you reached the door under the statue. He nodded and looked out to the darkness, his eyes glowing fiercely.
You plugged the cord, "96%, just a little bit more," just then, you heard a sound of a key dropping. "A poppy key? For wha--oh." The poppy circuit box, of course. You then went outside and ran towards that circut box. Kickin's footsteps thumping behind. You opened the metal case and pulled out the cord, running back to the statues, you felt a slight chill ran down your spine. You paused for a moment, "What's wrong?" Kickin' asked, "Nothing. Just... I feel like something bad's gonna happen." You reckoned. Kickin' warily looked at Playcare, his eyes searching out for possible predators.
You then continued to go and left the bird yet again outside. You finally plugged in the cord. "And, a hundred perce--!" your face fell deadpan as your triumph was interrupted by Ollie's call, "Okay, that should be enough power. Now take the huge batter to the gas production zone." You looked around spot where Ollie gives you the keys, a large battery glowing blue sat there. " So we can get out of here! It's the door by the cable car you arrived on. Goodluck." The call ended. "Yeah, yeah, Ollie. I know where it is." You muttered, carrying the large heck of a battery. "And that 'goodluck' was uncalled for," walking outside, you saw Kickin' who immediately took the battery from you and walked with you to the gas production zone. "Let me help you with that."
This time, instead of Kickin' waiting outside the door, he crouched himself to go in. "I'm going with you."
"Naw! Don't worry, KC. This is just the gas production zone. No need to worry here. I'm just gonna power up the gas and transfer it to the other tube. That simple!" you reassured him but the rooster clearly wasn't convinced. He kept a raised an eyebrow at you which deflated you. "Sigh... Fine then." You also had a feeling something's up to something anyway.
The two of you proceeded in the Gas Production Zone, "Alright. Gimme the battery." Kickin' handed it to you as you grabbed it using your grabpack. You walked towards the battery socket, Kickin's feather crown raised, alarmed at the surroundings. He hissed at the eerie feeling he's having, "Hm? What's wrong, KC?" You looked back at him, he's looking straight at you. "Uh, kickin', you're scaring me with that look..." something isn't right. You went back to walking to the socket. Kickin' wasn't looking at you, he was looking at something else...
The moment you almost inserted the battery is when CatNap appeared at the door, breathing his red smoke. You coughed, "Gah! What the hell!" Immediately you heard deep crowing sounds behind you, a mix of rooster crowing and a mosnter growling.
Catnap came into vision in a form way more terrifying than he should be. You fell down as fear came crawling through your feet. He walked towards you, each step intimidating than the last. Before he can swipe his claws at you, Kickin' Chicken immediately striked his talons on Catnap's face, earning a yowl from the beast. You immediately stood up as he bought you time to run into the elevator. Amidst of the red mist you saw the two monsters fighting at each other. Growling and crowing and hissing. Fighting each other with each swipe of their claws, blood poured out of them.
You went in the elevator, pressing the button to go up. The two disappeared in the mist but as you sought retreatment in the lift, Catnap appeared in front you. He glared at you with eerie eyes and you took in his frightening form. Skeletal and colorless. Faces and hands were carved on his body, moving and bubbling creepily.
You reached the top of the lift. You panted in a bit of relief of the experience, but worried for kickin'. "No... I... I can't go back. I'm sorry." Tears welled down on your cheeks," I'm sorry, Milo." You sniffed, brushing your tears off. You walked to the red smoke-infested area. "What now?" you protested, seeing a terminal and 4 battery stations. You looked at the monitor and read, "'This room can protect you. It was a safe room before. And it might be what saves you now. Familiarize yourself with it.' Oh no. What am I going to go through now?" You gasped. But you did as you were told, exploring the area. "A gate, a blocked path which I can access through the purple hand. 4 corridors for what? And... a trapdoor?" You listed. Jumping the platforms, opening and closing the gate, you listened to an eerie black VHS tape with what appears to be the 'Prototype' or 1006. You've heard of him numerous times, it was eerie that such an entity exists. And he can change voices! You felt a chill down your spine after watching the tape.
You went back to the terminal and saw the monitor's message changed. " 'The room should still have batteries. Use them to power whatever you need to in the room.' " you scanned the room with batteries scattered around you.
" 'To the left and right side of the room, in both the front and back, there should be small acloves with terminals ready for a charge. See for yourself.' " you hoped this nightmare is about to end. You switched your purple hand to a green hand and activated the receivers. It released steam thick enough to conceal the red gas from the front corridors.
" 'With a battery placed in the receiver, the charge will allow the continuous release of steam. See for yourself.' " again, you tested the back corridors by placing a battery in each of the two sockets. Steam emerged from above.
" 'Place a battery in one of the four receivers behind this terminal. Be alert. CATNAP IS NEAR.' " you read in alarm. "Fuck NO!" You yelled at the monitor. But against your will, you put a battery in one of the terminal's socket.
" 'Time remaining: 180... 179... 178...' " you panicked, your eyes darting around the room in trepidation. "... 176... 175-- *gasp!!* " your head whirled at the back corridor. You looked back and forth to wherever the footsteps were coming from. "L-light!" You switched to your orange hand and fired at the right back corridor. "Did that... work?" Footsteps reverberated in the room, but this time it's on the front corridors. You fired again, hearing something from afar. You charged your green hand and jumped to the blocked room with the two receivers. Activating it, steam was released. Catnap was forced to back down against the steam. You jumped down breathing heavily. "So this is where the battle begins... This is it... I'm scared..." you muttered to yourself. But you remembered Kickin'--rather, Milo, who was left behind. You felt bad for leaving him... "No--I'm not gonna die here!" You said in wavering determination. "Not at this time--" footsteps interrupted you. Doing the same thing, you fired at the 4 corridors, listening to which way is groaning. "The back corridor on the left." you took a battery and placed it in the socket. Steam poured down the monster as he retreated.
Repeating the process, you fired again at the 4 corridors, you listened closely and heard there were two footsteps coming to you. "That one... is an illusuon. The other is real," you said in confirmation. Front right corridor. You charged your green hand and steam was released. Catnap yowled at you.
"Repeat." you muttered, expression guarded and focused. You were sweating bullets at your fight. This time, you can hear three footsteps coming towards you, "One illusion, one is real and... another one?" You fired the flare gun on all of the 4 corridors. One was dispelled as an illusion. One was empty. One groaned. "Back corridor on my right!" You charged the battery socket and steam emerged. A cat's growl was heard. Then the terminal cried an alarm, "Now what?!" You put a battery in one of its 4 battery stations. Two of its sockets are now full. Your focus shifted back to the battle as the other footsteps kept going. "The front left corridor..." You fired at the other three corridors as you spared and listened closely to the fourth. Faint sounds of two claws were gnawing your ear. You took the chance to look at the monitor, "109 seconds... Still too damn long." You hissed.
You attempted to fire at the front left corridor but a familiar tall shadowy figure came to vision. Suddenly an alarm rang above you, the trapdoor was opening and Catnap was sneaking a view from you. Before you could react, a swift yellow whooshed before your eyes, feathers scattering. A loud flap of wings chimed, his talon grabbing the trapdoor handle. Kickin' Chicken voiced a deafening caw at Catnap and slammed the hatch shut harshly.
"Kickin'!" You called out to him. He landed near you and he wrapped his wings around you, and you returned the gesture. But due to his size, you could only grasp his wings. "I'm so glad you're alive!" you cried. He had his right eye as hollow as void due to a clawmark. Blood was gushed out of it, he also had a slash around his torso. He was a little bit bleeding. But you hoped he took a bit of rest before coming here. You had tears, moved by his appearance despite being badly wounded. Your embracement with each other was immediately halted by an alarm. The trapdoor is opening again, Catnap seems to not have yet given up even from Kickin's caw. He hissed at the cat and flew again to shut the hatch.
"87 seconds!" you exclaimed as you shot every one of the corridors, watching out warily for Catnap. Footsteps were nearing to the two of you. "Front left corridor!" You immediately powered the electric receiver, releasing steam to drive Catnap away.
Alarms rang, the hatch is opening. Kickin' plunged to close it. You fired at the four corridors, "Back left empty, back right illusion, front right empty, on the front left!" you powered it again with your green hand and steam was let loose, sending Catnap in a screaming fit.
"68 seconds." you counted, repeating the process on the four corridors. Activating the electric receiver. You whirled and fired at the back left, "Empt--" suddenly the terminal sounded an alarm again, demanding for another battery. "Oh fu--" Kickin' immediately grabbed one of the juices and put it in one of its sockets, putting it into silence. He's the only and most chivalrous monster you've ever seen in your life. You smiled at him warmly, feeling heat on your face. Your expression changed into a hardened one as Catnap's footsteps snapped you back to reality. 'No time for daydreaming! Our lives are on the line right now.' you slapped your cheeks as you pushed down the heat on your cheeks. Kickin' took a glance at your little trance and let out a low chirp.
Firing the back right, which has the fake, the hatch slowly opened again. Kickin' growl-crowed at him and clawed his face. The cat screamed and before he could wound kickin', he immediately snapped him shut.
The two of you worked together in the remaining 1 minute. Going through the same tactics Catnap has. Then the terminal sounded one last alarm, you grabbed a battery but before you can put it in, Catnap dropped from above the hatch and pounced at you. Kickin' seized him away by his talons, he cawing at him in the process.
You stood up shakily, inserting the battery in the last battery station, lighting up the electric port.
You switched to the green hand and powered it up. "KICKIN', BACK AWAY!" you instructed him and he immediately did what you said. You fired the overcharged green hand at Catnap. He tried to exhale red smoke but it only sent him in a fiery fit. "YOU... TRAITOR!" he screamed in a hoarse voice, rolling wildly on the floor trying to put out the fire. Kickin' moved beside you, placing a wing in front of you. He was in a crouched stance, ready to protect you in case Catnap attempts to attack.
Catnap continued to scream in pain, "YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO FOLLOW THE PROTOTYPE."
"I WILL NEVER." He said firmly in anger. The bird tried to attack him but a metal clawed hand emerged from above. Catnap was no longer on fire but he was almost burnt to a crisp. Yet alive as if it didn't hurt him that much.
"I... failed you... my lord..." He looked down, ears drooping. The prototype's hand flipped to look like he's offering a hand to help him. Catnap recovered and kneeled at him, as if offering and praying to him. You and kickin' were watching as the horror unfolds. 1006 stabbed Catnap by his mouth, blood gushed out from the back of his head. The Prototype then dragged his corpse up.
"......"

Harvey glanced up from his work, his eyes moving to her outstretched hand as his face remained slightly lowered, facing his laptop screen.
"Can I help you?" he asked, acting as though he hadn't heard her request the first time, as if he hadn't already processed the perfectly clear words she'd recited after she made a production of packing up her things over the last few minutes, finally slipping back into her shoes and pulling herself up off the couch and coming across the room to his desk.
Charlie had been something close to silent for hours now, settled in various uncomfortable-looking positions on the couch in his office and reading either for a school assignment or for pleasure—Harvey honestly couldn't be sure which it was and he didn't really care, either. She was being quiet and behaving herself and not pestering anyone, and that was all that mattered as far as he was concerned. Charlie was a good kid, but she annoyed the heck out of him when she wanted to—most frequently when she was at the office with him than anywhere else, almost like Charlie thought he and Mike and Donna didn’t actually have any work to do other than to entertain her. Harvey idly wondered if she was only doing it as a reward for agreeing to let her spend her night, a school night at that, out with her friends.
"Harvey," she groaned, retracting her hand.
"I need money for tonight," she repeated. "A twenty should do it, or forty, I guess…just in case."
Harvey continued typing, his eyes back on the computer screen. "Just in case what?"
"I don't know."
Charlie shrugged and started fiddling with one of Harvey’s fancy pens. Donna had been complaining that he had been going through more and more of them recently, and that they were constantly missing from his desk. As Harvey watched Charlie twirl one in her fingers, it dawned on him that he probably wasn’t misplacing them and they were more likely to be ending up in his kid sister’s bookbag.
“An emergency, maybe?” Charlie offered.
Harvey snatched the pen back, settling it on his desk and out of her reach. “I thought you were going to the movies. What kind of emergency—”
“I don’t know,” Charlie interrupted with a huff as she settled into the seat across from his desk.. “I’m not planning on having one. I said it was just in case.”
“Yeah, well, I certainly hope you’re not planning an emergency,” Harvey offered.
“It’s an expression—” she started, but Harvey wasn’t listening, his own thoughts and voice interrupting and drowning Charlie’s half-hearted argument out.
“And don’t you have your own money?” he asked.
“Yes…” Charlie answered, occupying her gaze with some imagined imperfection on the hem of her skirt. “But I’m being…responsible…I’m saving it.”
“Right,” Harvey snorted, shaking his head as he closed his laptop and leaned back in his chair. “So you mean to tell me you’re saving your own money and spending mine?”
Charlie threw her hands in the air, clasping them down over the arms of her chair as they came down. “You’re the one who said I should save my money!”
“Yeah,” he said. “And maybe try saving some of mine, too, once in a while,” he teased, a thin line differentiating his playful sentiment from his heavy sarcasm, so thin that Charlie didn’t pick up on it.
Charlie glanced at Donna through the glass, praying for some type of intervention. She had heard the entire conversation—Donna heard all that went on in Harvey’s office, but she still had her back to them now as she worked on the computer, apparently too occupied by her actual work.
“You said I could go, Harvey.”
“I did, and the door’s right there, kiddo.” Harvey nodded across the room. “No one’s stopping you.”
Charlie rolled her eyes. “C’mon, Harvey. It’s $40, that’s it. You’re being—”
“What happened to $20?” he asked. “And what are you complaining about? I’m letting you spend the night with your friends when you should be home in bed.”
“Yeah, but you’re keeping me from my best friend.”
Harvey chuckled, shaking his head. “Though I imagine he’d love nothing more than to spend his evening with a bunch of teeny boppers, Mike has work to do.”
“I’m not talking about Mike, Harvey.” She held her hand up, rubbing her thumb against her fingers. “Cold hard cash is a girl’s best friend.”
Donna snorted as she set a stack of papers on Harvey’s desk, suddenly appearing at their side. “Haven’t I taught you anything, little chick?” she asked, both eyebrows raised. “Cash is okay, but it’s your brother’s platinum card that’s a girl’s real best friend.”
“Yes, of course, even better,” Charlie said, turning back to her brother. “Can I borrow your—”
Harvey held up a hand, cutting Charlie off before turning to Donna. “You live to annoy me, don’t you?”
Donna shrugged. “You’d be lost without me.”
Harvey rubbed his hand over his face. “I wish you’d both get lost.”
“Well, I can do that for the low, low price of…” Charlie considered it, holding out her hand once again as she plastered the sweetest smile on her face she could muster. “Letting me borrow your credit card?”
Harvey let out a faux-frustrated breath at the same time as he reached into his pocket to retrieve a credit card, holding it out to Charlie and retaining his hold on the card as she clasped her fingers around the plastic. Harvey reached out for the pen he’d taken from her at the beginning of their argument, holding that out to Charlie as well.
“You better sign the back,” he said, turning the card so the name and credit card number faced up, CHARLOTTE SPECTER written out above the long string of numbers. He had opened this particular line of credit months ago, hoping to help his sister establish some credit before she turned 18, and he’d been holding on to it, some part of him not quite ready to admit that his kid sister was old enough for that type of responsibility, but now seemed just as good of a time as any to give it to her.
“It’s mine?” Charlie asked.
“It’s yours,” Harvey confirmed, nodding his head. “For reasonable things…and emergencies, not that you’re planning any of those.”
Charlie raced around the table to give her brother a hug as Donna picked up the ringing phone on Harvey’s desk, interrupting the hug to inform them that Charlie’s friends were downstairs pestering security. Charlie thanked her brother again as she rounded up her things and promised to be home at a reasonable hour before passing through the glass door.
“Looks like Little Chick’s all grown up, Harvey,” Donna said as the door fell shut and Charlie’s image retreated down the hall. “Before you know it, she’ll—”
“Whatever you’re about to say Donna, don’t,” Harvey groaned. He didn’t want to think about what Charlie would be doing before they knew it. He had enough of those unprompted thoughts without Donna’s imagery.
Donna held up her hands, conceding whatever comment she was about to make and instead gesturing towards the papers he needed to sign. It took him only a few seconds to realize Charlie must’ve taken the pen with her.
Harvey didn’t know where Donna had been holding it, but suddenly a pen appeared between the fingers of her well-manicured hand. He took the pen and signed the documents, watching as Donna returned to her desk.
They were the two closest women in his life, two of his best friends, and they annoyed the hell out of Harvey, but at the end of the day, he didn’t know what he’d do without Charlie and Donna.
And he didn’t ever want to find out.

fav Onmyoji character and why?🤔
*cracks knuckles* Alright, you got me with this ask.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. Asura Objectively, the number one favorite. You cannot separate his character or his story from Taishakuten, but in the end I guess it's natural to become very attached to the hero of a specific story, (a double hero story of a hero and an anti-hero, who switch roles halfway through), especially if they're so, so wonderfully fucked up. Asura (and when I speak of him, it applies to Taishakuten too, since neither character would be who they are without the other) is the deepest, most fleshed-out, most complicated and unique character in the entire game. His story and characterization and the accompanying media is so incredibly well produced, it can easily compete (and beat) other highly acclaimed stories out there. To think this was made, as essentially promo material, for a free-to-play mainland Chinese gacha game is absolutely NUTS. Yes I will praise this story and its production level to the stars because it irreversibly changed me. To me, this is the problematic, dramatic, queer love story. You know how Asura tells Taishakuten how meeting him was as if finally finding the thing he had been searching for all his life. This is me with this story, and this character. What I love is how he's so deeply complicated and inherently flawed, that even with the "good end" he chose for himself, his internal conflict is never resolved. He's someone who fights for genuine justice, someone who is genuinely caring, someone who's deep down insecure about himself, about opening himself up, trusting others, someone who wants to live a simple life and enjoy the little things. But he also genuinely enjoys committing mass murder, sadistic torture, he's rash and impulsive, he's someone who naturally chooses cruel means to an end. He swore to never kill again, to go against the very core of him, lock himself up and seal his own powers. And yet the first thing he does upon returning to the world of peace he made possible... is to murder without a second thought. And it's not a plot hole, it's a feature. Even when he's sane, he "learned" to deal with his own trauma in a completely unhealthy way, possibly as self punishment. This is obvious by how he's so loving and caring when dealing with Taishakuten's trauma.... Also I just want to add one thing. I'm glad I'm somehow able to gleefully ignore the fandom at large because, sorry, they don't get it. I'm tired of seeing nothing but fans taking everything interesting away from this story and washing it down to "uwu cute domestic boyfriends". Like heck no, these characters are so good because they are made to be incredibly fucked up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Orochi Tough choice... but it's Orochi, the reason why I started playing this game. Again, a character who's absolutely delicious to rotate around in my brain like a rotisserie chicken because he's so complicated and so inherently flawed, and yet so right at the same time. Imho, he's an amazing antagonist and again, I very much distance myself from the fandom wo won't shut up about "snake eating books". Because both due to the nature of the game and its subsequent production approach, and because of its target audience, which is very much young adults despite the 8+ rating, where I don't even understand how they achieved this rating with all the outright graphic violence, drug abuse, and 900 dollar "micro" transactions etc, the story won't be explained and presented to you on a silver plate. You're supposed to come up with your own interpretation for certain parts, and it's exactly why stories for adult audiences are so enjoyable, for me anyway. Something that is a major contributing factor to me loving Orochi so much is Miyano Mamoru's voice acting which is absolutely insane. Not sure how the director instructed him, or how much they pay him, but basically he sounds like on the verge of an orgasm the entire goddamn time with the way how he deeply savors each word on his tongue before speaking it, and it's so incredibly fitting. Maybe Miyano Mamoru understands Orochi better than the writers themselves, who knows... Regardless, the way how Orochi's character and personality is so perfectly portrayed through the voice acting is heavenly. His voice is like sickly sweet, thick, honey, innocent and nonchalant, yet dominating and bewitching. I mean. You can just hear for yourself. (Note, it's best if you can understand Japanese because the official English translations unfortunately suck.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Suzuka Wait, an actually good-aligned character??? Anyway, Suzuka is a wonderful take on the "big sister" archetype. She is big-hearted, kind, accepting, strong, determined, and has a great sense of responsibility. But she ends up being too trusting in others, in the way that she believes others are just as strong as her to fend for themselves, which ends up literally devastating her entire found family and the place they called home, literally killing her most important person in body and mind, her found brother. And yet, she's so strong to be able to not give up, to accept all the pain, to heal and to rebuild what they have lost. Also, as someone with the best big sister in the world, her character just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. She's wonderful.
And as a bonus, here's a selection of other favs in no particular order, because hell, in the end it's a waifu collection game and there's bound to be a lot of favs for varying reasons.
Tumblr media
Enma, because I'm not immune to bewitching milfs, and her design is one of the absolute best in the entire game.
Tumblr media
Tsukuyomi, because they're so sad and wonderfully questionable, also actually canon non-binary.
Tumblr media
Onikiri. Groomed to be fucked up, and yet after regaining his free will, he willingly steps back into that path, because it's what he inherently craves. So delicious.
Tumblr media
Garuda, my favorite disaster bi bird and Asura's pet dog. Probably one of the "normalest" and ironically most likeable characters. He's a bit conceited, strong and actually.... smart. And smart in the way that he knows his place, knows his limits and won't try things out of his league. And yet he can't help his smugness and want to test the waters... but he's a survivor still : ^)
Tumblr media
And honorary mention to my fav hairy braindead bimbo slut, Kamikui. Yep I love them very dearly, and they're also carried by incredible voice acting.

Tom Hiddleston Gave Us Clarity For His Comments About Concluding Loki's Journey, And Addressed Whether He'd Return To The MCU
Major spoilers for the Season 2 finale of Loki, “Glorious Purpose” lie ahead.
Viewers were graced with a truly wacky and emotional Loki Season 2 finale last week. The installment proved not only saw the titular character not only save his friends at the Time Variance Authority but also obtain that glorious purpose he’d long been searching for. Tom Hiddleston – the man who has brilliantly brought this character to life – recently made headlines when he said he viewed the episode as the conclusion of his journey as the character. However, he provided CinemaBlend with some clarity on those comments while addressing whether he’d be open to returning for upcoming Marvel movies or shows.
During the final moments of the finale, the former Asgardian mischief-maker managed to save all of reality by destroying the Time Loom at the TVA and revitalizing the dying timeline branches. With that, he took his place as the God of Stories at the End of Time, where he’ll now watch over all the various branches. Such a development feels like a fitting conclusion, so one can understand why Tom Hiddleston would refer to it as such. However, when I spoke to the actor, he wanted to set the record straight on that:
Well, yes, I suppose what I meant… Perhaps what I should clarify is that I feel very satisfied with the finale of Season 2, because it seems to contain echoes and resonances of the entire journey. It's almost like a piece of music, where in that last episode, you hear strains of, you know, whether it's in lines of dialogue, we are circling the same themes that I've always circled with Loki. But he's a character who is engaged with ideas of belonging, ideas of identity, ideas of purpose. That's who he was at the very foot at the beginning in the first Thor film, wondering where he belonged, which family he belonged to, wondering what his role was in all of this. Thor was destined to be king of Asgard. And who am I? Who is Loki? And I've been asking that question the whole way. Like, who does Loki think he is? Who's he think he is, and who is he really? And then through the series, in Season 1 and Season 2, I think the confrontation with Mobius and the mirror of Sylvie is another excavation, we go deeper into those ideas.
This is a very interesting take and one that is completely understandable. His sentiments on ending his journey were more based on the sheer feeling of satisfaction he feels over his character’s current position. I feel the same way, especially given the points the actor so eloquently mentioned during our conversation. The show (which is available for Disney+ subscribers) does indeed maintain the themes of identity and self-worth that have been synonymous with the antihero since his introduction in 2011’s Thor. So if this is his swan song, that’s surely one heck of a way to go out.
With that being said, there are still MCU productions on the docket that could serve as prime places for the character to return. (Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars come to mind, immediately.) Tom Hiddleston went on to tell me that he appreciates the “poetic” nature of the 2023 TV schedule entry's Season 2 finale, yet it sounds like he can’t say for sure that he won’t reprise his famous role again at some point:
So the end of this was just, it felt like a poetic redemption like the end of a piece of music, but I don't know if it's… I mean, I've made the mistake before of saying goodbye and saying goodbye to this great team at Marvel. And it's been emotional, and we swap notes and [they’re] saying, ‘Look, we'll love you. You’re always part of the family. Come see us anytime.’ And then the phone rings a year later. So I'm keeping an open heart and an open mind.
It’s definitely true that this isn’t the first time fans have been under the impression that the former Tesseract wielder has reached the end of the road. He was meant to be killed off in 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, and it seemed almost certain he was done after his death at Thanos’ hands in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. So in short, you really can’t keep a good Loki down, and I’m eager to see whether Tom Hiddleston dons those golden horns again one day.

So, now that I finished the game (again) and the DLC chapters, I'm going to ramble about Crosscode C:
This game is really bizarre in the sense that, to be completely 100% honest, there isn't any particular part of the game that I think is all that mind-blowing. But all the individual elements (heh) of the game come together so well that the resulting product ends up being so much stronger and memorable than the sum of its parts.
Like, most indie games have one or several notable flaws or shortcomings (and understandably so) but this game is such an airtight experience that I can't help thinking about it and just being like "the how HECK is this game so GOOD?!"
...I am of course just getting started, I've got a wall of text of things I liked and thought her just "meh" under the 'keep reading' if you're interested (you've been warned (also spoilers obviously)):
The combat is definitely one of the strongest elements of the game and probably one of my personal favorites; its brutally difficult and sometimes feels like bullshit (and maybe there is one or two instances where it actually is just bullshit) but once you get the hang of it is really is flashy and satisfying and makes you feel badass to pull off. Plus its got the whole easy to learn, hard to master thing going on (like most of it is just charging SP and pressing the space bar, but knowing what moves to use and when def play into things).
I dunno how much of a hot take this is, but I really liked the puzzles in this game! I won't deny that they can sometimes drag on and interrupt the pacing of a temple, but personally I didn't mind. And just like the combat they're so well constructed that, while you'll spend minutes staring blankly reminded that you're a simple-minded creature and that the human mind wasn't made for this and you should be foraging for mushrooms in the woods and risking death over your next meal, they rarely feel impossible to solve without having to resort to a playthrough and are really satisfying to finally figure out (not to brag but there was exactly one puzzle in the game where I had to look up the solution and another where I did solve it on my own but then looked it up cause I thought I cheesed it by mistake). At first I wasn't a huge fan of how fast/precise you have to be for some puzzles on top of just finding out the solution in the first place, but after a while you kinda get used to it (and there is an option to slow things down which is really nice of the devs to include).
The story is... pretty alright. Yeah. I honestly don't have much to say about it. Bit of a slow pace, does the job, and has it's share of twists and emotional moments, but the narrative itself doesn't really do anything mind-blowing either so... you know. I definitely think it's the characters themselves that are memorable and prop up an otherwise average story. I mean every single one of them is just the hugest goober and even characters who initially seem forgettable or one-dimensional end up subverting your expectations and being super endearing/compelling/layered. Oh yeah, and Lea is a character that can only say like 10 words and SHE DESERVES THE WORLD I WOULD KILL FOR H-
Also, since the DLC is brand new to me I do wanna say that the ending was the tiniest bit underwhelming. Like you break into Vermillion Wasteland, fight a (surprisingly easy) boss, and that's... just it. Like 20 minutes top. I dunno, it feels like... something was missing. Still thoroughly enjoyed the entire thing and it is nice for the cast to get their happy ending (not quite as emotionally impactful as the base game's end imo, but still great and I'm glad they gave us more time with these dorks).
The platforming and navigating the overworld is tedious, which sucks a bit since that makes up a good chunk of the game. Idk man, having to scale different elevations of platforms is made frustrating by the fixed camera and the fact that the different "levels" of platforms aren't distinct from each other at all, so its easy to get duped by the perspective and jump to something you can't actually reach (yes you can use projectiles to check but it still isn't fun). Even without everything blending into each other visually, trying to find which obscure paths from four rooms ago will bring you to a chest just isn't all that enjoyable (some of the later maps like Sapphire Ridge were okay though, if only cause they started to have actually interesting puzzles to do). Basically they're just... there, between the actually fun stuff.
The trading system and farming for resources is confusing and kind of a chore. That's all I got.
Guess I'll touch on the art/music since I don't have too much to say about them. To be perfectly honest I'm not actually super crazy about the artstyle (blasphemy!), but I won't deny that the sprite-work and overall aesthetic are still super-well done, even if they aren't my personal taste (tl;dr I'm neutral on it). The soundtrack isn't something I'd put on my phone and listen to in the car, but like the art it's still well-made and perfectly suits the mood of/drives the emotional impact of the game, and there are still a handful of standout bangers (Lea's theme will live rent-free in my brain of course).
One last thing I'll say (that I mentioned before) is that as fun as this game is, it feels like a commitment to get through at times. Even when I first played it and had more free time, sometimes this game just felt "imposing" to pick back up after a break. Idk its hard to describe, but at least for me it was hard to play any other games alongside this (especially with my limited free time) which kinda sucked a bit.
To wrap things up, if I had to give the game an arbitrary number rating, I have to give Crosscode a 0/10 because its an indie game that doesn't have a fishing game (smh honestly how could they make such an obvious mistake 😔).

*cracks knuckles* Get ready for a long ask As an animator/artist myself, I have a lot to say about the character designs. I'm sure you've heard this before, but these characters are not animation friendly. More detail just makes it harder to animate. (While Bee is a notorious example, nearly all of the characters suffer from this) When designing a character for animation, you need to pick and choose the key parts of their design, because you're going to be drawing the same thing over and over. Another thing: The characters have so much freaking red to them. I won't dwell on this for long, but they don't stand out from the background because there's so much freaking red (Another thing that bugs me is that the characters don't look like what the artist wanted them to be like) Ex: Charlie doesn't look like a doll Vaggie barely has a moth resemblance Angel Dust doesn't look like a spider Alastor doesn't look like a deer Niffty doesn't look like a bug or B-movie styled aliens Ozzie doesn't look like a rooster Beelzebub doesn't look like an animal trainer (you would think with all the suits and shit she likes to use, an animal trainer's outfit would be perfect for this)
Another thing: Her characters reuse the same design tropes. Bow ties, suits, fingerless gloves, gold tooth, stick thin figure, top hat, etc I'd excuse it if this was a beginner artist (heck, I used to do this, but eventually learned and grew out of it) but this is a woman in her 30's who graduated art school. TL;DR The designs are bad and hard as heck to animate
Couldn't have said it better myself
I feel like, when Viv sits down to design a new character, her personal preferences come first and everything they're actually supposed to represent second. Sort of tacked onto the final product like "yeah sure that'll do it"
As for the details, if I may add on: not long ago I've studied screencaps of a character from Helluva for redesign purposes. The amount of inconsistencies I came across was surprising! I'm pretty sure he didn't even have an official ref sheet (nor has one been posted to date), but I've heard that even for more prevalent characters the animators only have the most basic turnarounds? Also stuff like Millie's hair and spots tend to be inconsistent. With so much gratuitous/weird detail and apparently lack of proper reference, consistency suffers
Everyone is also very spiky and full of triangles; I'd love a more soft or even square character. Also some different body types... I mean, remember Mimzy from Hazbin? I don't know if Viv does. I wonder if she's still gonna appear at some point. But anyway
On a more positive note, there's a lot of background character designs that I find really cool & enjoyable! Maybe I'll make an appreciation post for them sometime

Why do people say Bastion wasn't attractive?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For those who don't know, Bastion was the prototype for Flynn Rider/Eugene Fitzherbert, and had a different build and personality from the final product; essentially the only thing they had in common was that they were both thieves--but Bastion wanted to get out of it and was being forced into that lifestyle.
Anyways, apparently some people talk about Bastion (both positively and negatively) and mention how he's not conventionally attractive. I'm not at all sure what they mean by this; he has a larger frame and a buff or beefy build, and his face has pleasant features. I'm not quite sure what about him is unattractive, and these positive features would've been further refined if Disney had decided to go with his design in the finished version of "Tangled." Considering that they used his model for Kristoff, I'd say Bastion is pretty attractive. Heck, I liked him so much I used him in my remake for "Tangled."

Dimension Dyfenders Update!! (9/20/23)
Tumblr media
HEY, HEY, it's September! You know what that means! (read the above)
Hello D.D fandom, hello followers, mutuals, friends and hello people who curiously stumbled upon this post. You all know who i am, but for those who don't, let me introduce myself. My name's Comet. I'm the co-creator and main artist in the indie webcomic series Dimension Dyfenders! As of right now, i'm attending art school and trying my best to work more on the webcomic while also attending on my studies and get better grades. Now, you might ask, "Comet, what's going on with this series now?", "Why haven't been there more pocket adventures minisode 1 parts lately?" Well, i got the answers right here! First of all, let's start with the most obvious one... The Pocket Adventures situation.
Now, Pocket Adventures hasnt been online as of late, no next parts were being published, and im very sorry for that. The cause for it is the loss of motivation i had, which made me not work on it for a long while. Even when making new panels i feel extremely tired. Feeling like i should do something else (heck, i feel insecure about its panels when i draw them!) But fret not, that doesn't mean Pocket Adventures is getting cancelled. We still have loads of plans on the table and we can't wait to roll them out. But for now, we're taking a break due to IRL situations for example, art school. We, the team, have lives outside of making d.d content. We need to get our degrees and, well, try to survive life. But no worries, because I got plans to get back on D.D P.A Minisode 1 and finish it completely once winter break hits. As long as my motivation gets out of its hibernation phase. But still, i can't wait for you all to see the conclusion to minisode 1. (I just hope you dont mind if i jump right into the 'new designs' in the next pages)
Speaking of minisodes, I've been thinking of releasing minisodes only once a year than every saturday. Though this decision is not final yet. I don't want clout, in fact, i just wanna do what I love. Create stories and comics for everybody to enjoy. But if you guys would love for a minisode to release once a year or once in 3 months, let me know your opinions! Your criticism helps this series, especially its production, grow better!
Now, for the second and final question you may have asked… Thing is, Nothing has changed! But well, if you know me on my social media for my recent Crash Bandicoot fanart, then you might notice that Crash 4: It's About Time, especially it's artbook (and concept art by Nicola Saviori)... Has affected my artstyle, DRASTICALLY. So. The characters, of course, have went through some changes. I'd like to call this new artstyle... "The TFB Effect". As a matter of fact, Dimension Dyfenders (both its miniseries and full series) is going to have a brand new, more cartoony, zanier than ever artstyle! Don't believe me? See for yourselves. Starting with the main ones!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I decided to add a little bit of the good ol' Squash and Stretch to the characters to make them stand out more in the next comics. So of course, some of the colors have changed, especially designs and bodytypes. Oh, and not just that, our heroes have some new stuff, too! For example: Knockout's Dyfender Element is now refered as "Quantum Strenght", Paintdrop's is called "Cosmic Creativity" and Speedrunner's is called "Light Speed". Neat upgrades, eh? (Still, criticism is accepted.) Anyway, notice that in the first picture above there's something that says: "Dyfender Mode", right? Well, if you see that, that's because we are introducing something brand new to our heroes. Called: Omni-modes.
Now, "what are Omni-modes?", you may ask? Well, Omni-modes are modes that are set on the Dyfenders' Dy-watches, you may see that the Omni-Modes are, of course, the Dyfenders' alternate hero forms, to help them take on a mission in a different, more suitable form. When the day needs to be saved during night time (and rarely past bedtime), they activate Night Mode. For sunny beach days but still wanting to make sure nobody figures out their secret identities, Acqua Mode will be at their service. There are tons of different Omni-Modes to be shown (Especially, Pride mode, which was shown on this year's pride post.) So, yeah. Omni-modes will be shown in both the miniseries AND the full series!
Oh! And refering to characters, we can't forget about our main bad guys! Oh, you know, the Dajo-Crew? They got a bit of a make over to fit to the current artstyle! (ft. the updated height chart):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now that we got that out of the way. let's just head over what will the future of the series look like as of right now. Starting off with the full series and pocket adventures. As said before, Dimension Dyfenders' artstyle changed. But that doesn't mean everything changed, things may be different (the more cartoony artstyle and the sillier tone), but nothing about the series has changed! And that means..
MORE POCKET ADVENTURES IS HAPPENING, THAT'S RIGHT! MORE D.D CONTENT COMING THIS WAY!
As for right now, D.D Minisode 1 may still be in development as we speak, but one thing that's completed right now is the script! Now that its finally finished, all thats left, is the panel and comic page-making (hopefully you wont mind the sudden character design changes, though.)! But in the meantime! We got some sneak peaks for not just one of the panels from the next minisode 1 pages, but also a never-seen before panel from the next minisodes of pocket adventures! (notice: some of these are not final and may change in the final product.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's not all! this franchise has got some new stuff coming in during it's run. We got so many plans, but this is the only thing we can show about said plans:
Tumblr media
As you can see, you're gonna see some new characters in pocket adventures. While in the full series, you'll get some new characters too. Except... New baddies will be only in the full series, while in the miniseries then later in the animated series... You'll get to meet some new allies! So, keep your eyes peeled for them! And we hope you like them as much as we do.
Now, D.D has never shown a sign of stopping, even during hiatuses, so im happy to announce that more Pocket Adventures will be on their way after Minisode 1 has completed production! We're thinking of putting the upload dates on hold (which means, minisode 2 is delayed until further notice, sorry guys.). So please be patient when waiting for new minisodes.
And speaking of patience... I think I got a little something to keep you guys busy with while you wait... Introducing…
Tumblr media
DIMENSION DYFENDERS TOONIES!
Now, you may be wondering: "What is THIS?" D.D.T (Dimension Dyfenders Toonies for long), is a brand new miniseries of comic strips that comes out during the weekends. (Starting in October, the end of september, or during the holiday season! No promises, though.) It's a little something i can make up while you guys wait for the next Pocket Adventures Minisodes. Oh yeah, here's one of the cover for it, too! It's not much, but i know you guys would go NUTS for it:
Tumblr media
This will be about how the Dyfenders handle their superhero and school lives in everyday situations. (No worries, the action isn't gone. There might be some strips about school, but there will be more strips about their superhero lives, guarantee!). It's also about what The Dajo-Crew does when they aren't invading dimensions, get into some shenanigans at the castle and also when they plot evil schemes. some strips will be either original with a new short story or a recreation of old strips from phase 1 (not a final decision of course, but you can tell us if you like this idea)! One thing to point out is that some of the strips might take place before some minisodes, now thats another thing to notice, right? And that's the only "spoiler" I can give. So, sorry, no more! OH! And for any of you voice actors reading this who are like: "Wow, i wonder when this series will get a comic dub / animated series. If i'm lucky enough i might be able to voice act for it!" … Boy, do we have a treat for you all. Which will be posted in a few hours. both on bird app, bluesky, insta and on here!  The only thing I have to announce is that during the d.d stuff's production and during art school, i'm not gonna be online on social media. (until during normal/long weekends and festive days.), but no worries, the series is still alive and kicking, even when there aren't posts about it for a few months! Though, in some days, i'll be able to make and share some art for it! You're all in for a wild ride for these months and for 2024! Oh, and about Dajo's account. I'm planning to bring it back. But, Dajo is currently busy conquering Dimensions, but I can assure he hasn't abandoned Sinstagram completely. You'll see more of his influencer side, too. Both in his Sinstagram and in the upcoming strips! (And perhaps in some mini– OOPS! TOO MUCH!) That's all for now! Thank you all for your support on the series, don't forget to share your fan creations of the series in DMs or tag me and the team in your masterpieces, share it with your family and friends, subscribe to the series on Comicfury, and follow me on Tumblr, bluesky, bird app and Instagram if you wish to support the project even outside of comicfury! Once again, thank you all in this slowly-growing small fandom for all of your support, and i hope you're all excited for what's to come! If you have any questions, please drop them on my tumblr askbox, Which i'll be able to answer during the weekends. That's all, back to the offline study and sleep abyss for me. GOODBYE!

Happy Last Day of 2023. Here's a long overdue update over how I have been.
As you recall, Jabberwock Genocide Part 2 was uploaded 3 weeks ago. And the only thing I did this whole month of December after Part 2 was uploaded was that I went to Canada to climb a huge mountain and confront my other self because it’s cheaper than going to therapy.
Just kidding, I just worked on more Jabberwock Genocide, nothing else.
This is a positive as I have made so much forward progress in the animation and the upcoming part 3 that you guys won’t have to wait 9 months for more Genocide Jack fun time. However, there is a cost to just working on Jabberwock Genocide, one that I’m currently struggling to find a way to deal with.
Basically, all my free time, focus and thinking has been dedicated to Jabberwock Genocide, but other stuff I do and create I have left to the dust.
Tumblr media
My output in making Genocide Jack posts has just stopped.
I keep neglecting to share updates to my Sho Shrine. I am still getting new stuff for it but I have not yet organized it and taken picture of it.
I have barely played any new games. The last game I have beaten that is new was Super Mario Bros Wonder. I loved that game, but I had a hard time sitting down to play it for long sessions as I wanted to work on Jabberwock Genocide.
And tragically, I have really neglected interacting with my online friends. This I feel the most guilty of as I have no excuse for it. I know there are friends I used to talk to a lot before that I have now stopped engaging with for a really long time. If you are one of those people I just to say that I am sorry for ghosting you. I still consider you a friend I don't want our friendship to slowly die out due to lack of communication on my end.
This is my struggle. I love making Jabberwock Genocide. It’s honestly the most enriching thing I am currently doing in my life. I’m creating a story with my favorite character, Genocide Jack. I’m developing my skill as a sprite animator. I’m constantly thinking about how to create a particular scene with the limited resources I have. I get a real kick of joy when I am creating a scene and suddenly an idea comes to mind that I love and I put it in the animation.
I feel so satisfied when the ideas I have for a scene that I see in my head are transmitted into actual animation on my editor. More often then not, what I make in the final product is better than what I imagine in my head. Every single line, every single detail, every single joke, it all feels so amazing to craft them into a video.
It’s crazy to think that just a few months ago, I was at a low point in the animation where all of my motivation was drained and I struggled to make progress for weeks. But now, I feel so freaking happy and elated just thinking about the animation. Heck, even doing really tedious tasks like making every single sprite jump a little is still enjoyable to me. I’ve been working on this project since August 2022. I never expected this to be what is now when I first started writing down ideas. But I am happy the project did turn into this, because I really, truly enjoy working on this.
But… That’s the problem. I enjoy working on Jabberwock Genocide so much that any other hobbies, I find less fun. I rewrote my brain to dedicate huge parts of it to think about Jabberwock Genocide. I’m fully being this attached to a project like this isn’t healthy. I should be consuming different media and doing other activities and talking to my friends. I know this but I find it difficult to summon the energy to do it.
I’m still trying to find a good balance between working on the project and doing other leisure activities that I enjoy doing. I’m going to make this a goal for 2024, it might take me a while to find that balance but I will try to. Hopefully when I do, I can slowly rekindle friendships that I have abandoned.
That’s what I wanted to say. Thank you for taking the time to read this. See you in 2024.

ARISE Q&A (pt2)
Tumblr media
Due to the massive views of the first Q&A, the production decided to do another live stream once the band's current schedule is cleared up. So by the time Saturday hits, the team sets up the platform and commences the live stream. There are already past 3k people waiting and the numbers keep growing when the boys appear. Today's setting is a couch with a bunch of pillows. The members wear casual clothes this time, and to the audience's surprise, Jong-in has decided to wear a white cardigan instead of a suit. Turns out, the boys have slept late and didn't have time to choose outfits and just grabbed the first thing they saw in their wardrobes.
[ Welcome to the second part of getting to know ARISE! First, how is everyone doing? Looks like you guys had a lot of fun last night. ]
LTG: heck yeah! We watched a lot of movies and played video games.
BYH: however, the reason why we took so long is that neither Byung-gyu and Jin-woo wants to lose. Those two are gaming fanatics!
SJW: to be fair, I was winning. Byung-gyu just decided to cheat.
MBG: that's called being smart, dumbass.
SJW: the technique you used doesn't even exist!
MBG: nah, dude. You're just bitter.
CJI: can we start the questions? I don't want to witness a puppy fight in here.
[ to all— have any of you considered dying your hair a different color? ]
CJI: nope.
BYH: yeah. It was white and just like the ones you see in music videos. As awesome it looks, especially when the effects made it glow, I like my orange hair color better.
SJW: I'm good with my black hair.
LTG: sheesh, emo! Anyways, I tried to dye my hair light brown when I was in college. Needless to say, I looked like an American and never did it again.
MBG: I did. Although it's just the tips of my hair.
LTG: ohhh what color did you use?
MBG: green.
CJI: do you have a picture of it?
MBG: heck no. Why would I show it to you guys?
[ to all— who writes songs in the group? ]
CJI: well, when we were just newbies in the industry, we had this small group of people who write songs for us. Then we practiced singing the lyrics before they went to the final draft.
LTG: yeah until they got fired.
CJI: yep, they got fired.
[ oh no, what happened? ]
CJI: what happened? Our manager caught them attempting to steal lyrics from others, including the ones from the 70s, and in their defense, they were running out of ideas, but Mr. Woo didn't accept their reasons because it was still plagiarism and kicked them out.
BYH: and that was when Byung-gyu came in.
LTG: hyung came up to our manager and handed him the lyrics he had written by himself. Mr. Woo couldn't be happier.
SJW: to sum up the answers, Byung-gyu writes most of our songs. And sometimes, if he's a bit busy, Mr. Woo calls for some backup songwriters and had Byung-gyu to revise it if he wanted.
LTG: now thanks to Byung-gyu, the band freaking took another genre.
MBG: I thought you liked it?
LTG: dude, you wrote a lot of love songs and my single ass couldn't handle singing to a relationship I never had.
SJW: you even cried in the end.
LTG: I freaking cried in the end!
[ to Choi Jong-in— why do you like fire so much? ]
CJI: hm, I don't know. But the first time I felt an affinity toward it was when I got fascinated by the fireworks that my mom had to pull me away from getting burned. And oh! I used to have a habit of burning ants with a lighter and sometimes with a magnifying glass and a leaf when I was a kid.
The rest: . . .
BYH: who allowed you to touch a lighter?
LTG: who allowed a kid to commit massacre on ants?
SJW: when I was kid, I only watched ants on the pavement. Are you a psycho?
MBG: you sound terrifying as a child.
CJI: well, what can I say? I like fire.
LTG: I'm not surprised if you're going to do arson one day.
[ to all— what is your favorite song? ]
BYH: Whatever it takes by Imagine Dragons.
LTG: Wolf's Song by MOONBOW.
CJI: I will break you down by Nam Hye-seung and Jeon Jeong-hoon.
MBG: Fly up by Hwang Chang Young. Or maybe "Eyes Open" by Taylor Swift. . .
LTG: *gasp* KOREAN TAYLOR SWIFT!
MBG: quit calling me that already.
SJW: Echo by The Boyz.
[ to Baek Yoon-ho— where did the "whitetigerking47" username came from? ]
LTG: *snorts*
BYH: nothing interesting about it. I just chose it because white tigers are my favorite animal and 47 is my father and mother's birthdates. Why did I include the word 'king' in it? Well, because I am.
CJI: wrong. You're a peasant.
BYH: shut up.
[ to all— when did Choi Jong-in and Baek Yoon-ho start dating? ]
CJI: WHAT?!
LTG, SJW, & MBG: *burst out laughing*
BYH: WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE ARE DATING?!
CJI: FOOLS! I WILL NEVER DATE THIS SKUNK!
BYH: DID YOU JUST CALL ME SKUNK?!
MBG: oh my! The couple is arguing!
LTG: guys, we are live. Save the quarrel in the bedroom.
CJI & BYH: SHUT YOUR MOUTH!
SJW: you know, my mom and dad often said the same words together when they were dating. Even now.
BYH: please leave your parents out of this. . .
[ to all— apart from Choi Jong-in and Baek Yoon-ho, who else is in a relationship? ]
CJI: we are not together, for the love of God!
BYH: this is so sickening.
LTG: not me! I have been single since birth.
SJW: same.
CJI: what do you mean same? Didn't you sneak out of rehearsal just to watch Cha Hae-in's competition?
SJW: I promised her that I would be there, dumbass.
BYH: what about that one time I caught you teaching her how to dance to some song when you two were at the studio alone?
[ Jin-woo and Cha Hae-in danced together?! ]
BYH: yeah, and since Jin-woo didn't post it, I guess the video is in his gallery.
[ how sweet! ]
SJW: THAT DOESN'T MEAN SOMETHING ELSE! WE ARE FRIENDS AND THAT'S IT!
CJI: *scoffs* oh re—
SJW: *points at Byung-gyu* ask him this time! He's the one being suspicious out of all of us!
MBG: huh?!
LTG: right! Spit it out, boy!
MBG: what?!
SJW: oh please, remember when you started writing love songs? Yeah, that was when you came home from Gyeongsang!
CJI: *snaps fingers* I knew it!
MBG: bruh. . .
BYH: hyung, we are waiting.
MBG: nope! Not revealing it!
LTG: so you ARE in a relationship.
MBG: I'd rather go on a date our manager than say it.
SJW: who said you can claim our manager?
[ to all— what will happen if Mr. Woo takes a vacation? ]
BYH: as if that man is going to take a vacation. But if he does, I guess I'll have plenty of days off.
CJI: I think we can survive without him.
LTG: if Mr. Woo takes a vacation, I don't want to be a damn babysitter to you-know-who.
MBG: if he takes a vacation, then he must take Jin-woo.
SJW: stop treating me like a kid! I can handle myself! If anything, I'd support Mr. Woo because he deserves to rest after all the work he's been doing.
CJI: you're only supporting the idea is so that you can do whatever you want without anyone yelling at you.
SJW: touché.
[ to all— how does it feel to be less popular than your manager? ]
LTG: *places hand on his chest in faux heartbreak* it's painful!
MBG: I'm fine with it, actually. It is not surprising how fans are crazier toward Mr. Woo than the rest of us.
BYH: *scoffs* don't humble yourself, Byung-gyu. We know that you once wrote a song about it when the audience cheered louder when Mr. Woo was hosting one of our concerts.
[ Min Byung-gyu wrote a song dedicated to Woo Jin-chul?? ]
BYH: yeah! It's more like a bitter poem for him.
LTG: now that's some level of pettiness.
MBG: no it's not!!
SJW: I'm with Tae-gyu on this one. My own sister literally favors him more than me and you know what's more painful? She has photos of him that she printed on her own!
LTG: did she have at least one photo of you, though?
SJW: no! She said that she sees me all the time anyway.
The rest: *gasp*
CJI: the utter betrayal. . .
BYH: so Jin-woo isn't okay with it, and for me, I don't necessarily mind it. Mr. Woo has been around in the industry earlier and more than I do.
CJI: I could care less. It doesn't matter to me if the manager has more popularity than the band itself. I sing, I perform, that's it.
LTG: is it me or do Yoon-ho and Jong-in sound more matured than the three of us?
SJW: clearly, they don't have a little sister.
MBG: it's because they're in sync, like a cou—
BYH & CJI: next question!!!
[ to all— have you stolen anything from the set? ]
LTG: my first bow and arrow! Even though I have another, I still keep it somewhere in my room.
CJI: that velvet coat. I heard that the designers are going to keep it, but I didn't let go of the opportunity to claim it, so in that way, I wouldn't have to waste money to buy one.
BYH: in the last day of shooting, I stole that black mane I wore as a costume and I've been using it as a pillow ever since.
MBG: I'm not interested in props that much, but the only thing I brought with me was that random water bottle with messy doodles. I wasn't sure if it was a prop, but I just took it because I was the only one who hadn't taken anything.
LTG: dude, that must've belonged to the music video's director.
MBG: oh crap.
SJW: hmm. . . I have that crystal ball, a dagger, that goblin's head, the black ant figurine, the mace Byung-gyu used during filming and didn't want to take home, and. . . Oh! That ugly-looking statue too.
CJI: you took that all?
BYH: shhhh! There is an unspoken rule between us to never ask the reasons behind the props we take home, remember?
[ to all— who has the best and worst relationship with Mr. Woo Jin-chul? ]
CJI: damn, this is quite hard. . . I mean, all of us had made our manager's blood boil at some point.
BYH: but we know who has the worst relationship with Mr. Woo.
MBG: he's the youngest member.
LTG: and the one who just got Mr. Woo mad this morning and had drunken three cups of coffee to cope with it.
SJW: no need to drop hints. I know it's me.
CJI: good to know—
SJW: and I'm proud!
The rest: . . .
MBG: I'm taking the spot of having the best relationship with Mr. Woo to complete the answers.
SJW: *throws a pillow at Byung-gyu* you can't!
[ to Lim Tae-gyu— who do you like collaborating the most out of the group? ]
LTG: hmm. . . I'm stuck between Byung-gyu and Jin-woo since I collab with them the most. I mean, Byung-gyu is great with the guitar, his voice is perfect for acoustics, but the bad part of it? He chooses to cover love songs whenever it's his turn to pick.
MBG: what's with choosing love songs??
CJI: he's bitter that he's still single. Understand him.
MBG: *scoffs* then that's not my problem.
LTG: jerk. Anyways, what I like about collaborating with Jin-woo is that. . . Well, I guess I like singing with him in general.
BYH: so. . . Your official answer is Jin-woo?
LTG: yep.
MBG: I— don't tell me you mentioned my name just to spite me.
LTG: hey! At least I said good things about you!
SJW: I'll bet you 100 Won that he's going to cry in his room after this!
[ to Choi Jong-in— how bad is your eyesight without your glasses? ]
CJI: I'd say mid. I can't see things from the distance which is why I have to wear contacts during performances sometimes.
LTG: funny story! When Jin-woo hid his contact lens, Jong-in walked around the studio and every time he saw some person with black hair, he cursed at them because he thought it was Sung.
SJW: I had a good laugh at that!
CJI: it's your fault! I had to lower my pride and apologize to each of them!
SJW: it's satisfying to see you say sorry to people.
CJI: you—
[ to Choi Jong-in and Baek Yoon-ho— what do you two like about each other? ]
BYH: BRUH.
CJI: NOT AGAIN.
BYH: there's no way I'm answering that! Hell no!
MBG: we won't move to the next question if you two don't answer this.
LTG: come on~~ think of it as bro to bro!
SJW: bromance!
LTG: yes! Bromance!
CJI: I'm gonna puke. . .
MBG: hey! No dramatic antics here!
LTG: if you answer this, we'll buy you anything you want!
SJW: you're making a risky quid pro quo, but I'm in!
BYH: *sighs*
CJI: *nudges his glasses*
BYH & CJI: *look at each other*
BYH: damn, I don't know what I like about you. But for the sake of moving to the next question, fine! I like that you're always ready to defend us from haters.
CJI: I like the way you rap.
LTG: *giggles*
BYH: I like that you keep looking professional on camera.
CJI: I like how you work out.
BYH: I like that you look after our group whenever our manager is not available.
CJI: I like your taste in alcohol.
MBG: ohohoho!
SJW: this is too good!
BYH: I like that you let me burrow your cologne sometimes.
CJI: I like how you make omelettes.
BYH: you always make sure to look inferior to others.
CJI: I like that you make kids comfortable around you.
BYH: I— wait, is this over now?
LTG: *covers his face with a pillow and screams*
MBG: I'm so gonna watch this stream just to repeat this part!
SJW: I never thought I would be too invested in this. . . Oh, look! Some of the production team have gone crazy.
[ to all— what's your ideal date? ]
LTG: ideal date? Well, I've always wanted to watch a sports competition with someone.
CJI: I'd rather go to the movies and eat in some restaurant.
BYH: I don't have an exact preference. But I guess as long as I'm with this person, I'm good.
MBG: I'd like to go for something simple. Even though I'm famous, I prefer to be simple and cheap because my halmeoni taught me that it's not just about the efforts that makes a date great, but the amount of love you put into it. My hometown has plenty of beautiful places, so it's perfect, and there is something about them that makes it special for someone who is equally special.
SJW: my ideal date is not entirely big, just places like amusement parks are enough and perhaps even at home where I'll be the one to cook instead of going out. I also like the idea of watching the stars with someone.
LTG, CJI, & BYH: . . .
LTG: did you just call me worthless in different languages?
BYH: Jin-woo went from being the least person to be romantic to being the most romantic real quick.
CJI: I can't tell if you two have done this already or these just your plans.
SJW: obviously plans. I'm not sure about Byung-gyu.
MBG: HAHAHA no.
LTG: fine, guess I'll just have to ask Park Hee-jin. Didn't she come from the same town as you?
MBG: jokes on you, she doesn't know either!
LTG: MS. PARK HEE-JIN IF YOU'RE WATCHING THIS TEXT ME QUICKLY!
BYH: YOO JIN-HO I KNOW YOU'RE WATCHING SO IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT JIN-WOO'S MYSTERY LADY SPILL IT!
SJW: I don't have a "mystery lady" so get over it.
[ to Min Byung-gyu— if Woo Jin-chul is part of ARISE, what role will he have? ]
MBG: based on his level of popularity, I'd say he's the leader of ARISE. No further elaboration needed. Plus, I think he will rap better than Jong-in and Yoon-ho if he adds some tune to his rants.
BYH: hey!
CJI: how offensive.
MBG: and probably dances better than Jin-woo if he puts his instructions into demos.
SJW: excuse me?!
MBG: and if given a chance, his acapellas will sound better than Tae-gyu.
LTG: *hits Byung-gyu with a pillow*
[ to all— IS THE MANAGER SINGLE? (Yes, this is typed in all caps). ]
BYH: do you think this man is in a relationship? He's way too committed with work.
CJI: if he's single, then that person just hits his high standards. And I don't even know what his standards are.
LTG: he's single and unavailable, ladies and gentlemen.
SJW: he's not ready for a relationship, I think.
LTG: that's because he's way too focused on keeping an eye on you.
SJW: that's on him, not mine.
MBG: I feel like he loves the band way too much to even date. Actually, I like that for him.
SJW: you want to see our manager suffer? Shame on you.
MBG: says the guy who's the 87% of his headaches.
SJW: at least I keep him from doing paperwork all the time.
MBG: you're doing it wrong. Mr. Woo doesn't mind looking after Coco and he's content with it.
SJW: I can't believe you're using your dog.
MBG: at least he's happy unlike you—
SJW: *throws a pillow at Byung-gyu*
[ to all— who comes to your rehearsals? Is it family? Friends? Or do they not come at all? ]
CJI: nope. I doubt that my dad even watches my performances, let alone see his son, but I elect not to care about it. However, my friend from Germany often made sure to stop by the rehearsals whenever he's in the country. Shout out to you, Lennart!
BYH: my family lives outside of the country so. . . But they do watch the concerts and music videos on YouTube.
MBG: same answer as Yoon-ho, but my grandma is the one who keeps track of my performances and even made her friends get into it.
LTG: my family sometimes stops by and needless to say, they criticize me quicker than my own manager. "Tae-gyu! Look at your bandmates! Why are yours different?" "Tae-gyu! Easy on your vocals otherwise you'll shatter the mirrors!"
SJW: my sister stops by the studio after school sometimes. Not just to see me, but to see Woo Jin-chul and shrugs off my existence.
BYH: poor you.
SJW: at least my mom and dad pay more attention to me, so I'm satisfied.
MBG: Mrs. Sung is the best! She always bring food for the five of us and is one of the most loving people I've ever known. She reminds me of my mom too.
SJW: don't you dare steal my mother, Min.
MBG: heh.
[ to Sung Jin-woo— what is your favorite chocolate? ]
SJW: anything. Dark chocolate, regular chocolate, even white chocolate, but all except mint chocolate.
LTG: mint chocolate is good.
SJW: ew, get away from me.
LTG: what? It's good!
SJW: it takes like toothpaste!
LTG: it's MINT! And every mint makes one's breath fresh.
SJW: then why does your breath smells so bad?
LTG: you take that back—
The rest: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
BYH: Jin-woo chose violence!
CJI: I'm telling your mother that you are bullying your second family.
[ to Min Byung-gyu— how much food does Coco eat per day? ]
MBG: three times. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
LTG: whaattt?? You don't give him treats?
MBG: I do every time he does a trick, but not too much. I don't want him to be spoiled until he becomes overweight when he needs to do his exercises in the morning
SJW: what if one of us did feed him past his schedule?
MBG: well, did you?
The rest: . . .
MBG: well??
BYH: he has those cute puppy eyes while holding his bowl! I can't resist it!
LTG: you know that Coco is an angel! And every angel deserves to be loved!
CJI: it was one time, I swear. I promised that I will give him more treats if he lets me dress him with a costume.
SJW: what kind of human who won't spoil this dog? He's everyone's stress relief. He needs his own salary.
MBG: Coco is never like that when we were living in Gyeongsang! Now I know why he's becoming lazy unless he smells food. . . IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!
BYH: why blame us? We are just being kind uncles to him!
MBG: uncles?!
CJI: be thankful. Coco is now living his best life.
SJW: Jin-chul even fed him chicken when you were out last week, by the way.
MBG: THE BETRAYAL!
LTG: geez, Coco has such a strict dad. He needs a sweet mom.
MBG: shut up!
[ okay, before our lovely Min Byung-gyu unleashes his beast mode on his friends, let's end the streaming here! I hope you fans enjoyed this Q&A! Any messages in this live? ]
BYH: as much as I love you fans, quit sending questions about me and Jong-in. We are not in a relationship.
CJI: Yoon-ho will never be my type, so bear that in mind.
LTG: Hee-jin, I'll be waiting for your text! Jin-ho, you too. It's time to solve the biggest mystery in ARISE.
MBG: *rolls his eyes at Tae-gyu* anyways, thank you for watching, that is all.
SJW: keep sending questions about Yoon-ho and Jong-in! I'd rather answer those than the questions about Woo Jin-chul!
[ end stream. ]

Tumblr media
selections from my week in media [4-10 february 2024]
[reading]
The Comeback by Lily Chu
[watching]
Amidst a Snowstorm of Love - I'm on episode three or four and I don't know if I'll continue. It's extremely slow paced, which normally I don't mind but it feels excessive in this case. And the acting isn't grabbing me enough to make up for it.
Blind {finished: 4 stars} - I think I changed my mind about Sung Hoon every single episode. lol They did such a great job keeping the lid on what the heck was actually going on and making me question everything. I loved it.
Destiny Seeker - I don't remember why I had this on my list, but I think it's Tumblr's fault. I'm only a few episodes in and all I can think right now is that the actors are better than the production.
"Fast Car" / Tracy Chapman & Luke Combs - Their Grammys duet was so good I cried. She smiled and I was done for. It's just one of those songs for me. Every time I hear her sing it, I get quiet inside. No better way to explain it really.
For Him - Ring pops as a courting gift: awww. Te with his new crush: awww. Nail and Him making out in a realistically awkward position on the bed because the pillows got in the way: awww (been there LOL).
Pit Babe {finished: 4 stars} - That was a great finale. I wish we'd gotten to see Babe angry about being lied to so cruelly, but the plot being what it was, there was literally no time for that. Fic will have to explore that, along with so much else the show left for us to deal with. Way. Kenta. Pete. The rest of the world-building. (Did we ever hear the words 'beta' or 'omega'?) I thoroughly enjoyed watching this show every week and I'm going to miss it.
Twins {finished: 2 stars} - They really waited until the last episode for the twin reveal. argh. On a better show, First dumped Sprite with prejudice, then had a 10 year time skip epilogue, with a second chance romance meet cute. Also, History2: Crossing the Line would like its volleyball net kiss back.

post project rambling
blood spills over is finished!
The whole thing has been planned from the beginning, but the exact scope of it kept creeping and creeping until it went form something I thought I could finish in around 5k words, to 10k, to 20k, at which point I gave up trying to estimate the length it would end up at. The last part (five of pentacles, reversed) ended up being longer than the previous parts added together, sitting at 26 out of 47k. Oops! That's longer than the previous longest fic I'd written on its own! It was only supposed to be a little thing to tide us over until the final part but ,,. uh, well, I got carried away a little. I had only written parts 1 and 2 before I started posting, and at that point I thought I was mostly done, so I thought it was safe to do so. (As an addendum, I did start posting because of my cute little stalker digging up my old accounts and sending abuse to those inboxes, where I hadn't closed anon off yet, so it was a bit of a spite fuelled adventure at the beginning.) I don't normally like to post things before they're finished because quite frankly I didn't trust myself to actually finish it, but I guess because I had a clear ending in mind, I was able to get there eventually.
I am not used to being in such a big fandom, so the support has been a completely new experience, and it's honestly been a little overwhelming (in the best way possible). I have been on the struggle bus these past few monoths with moving to a new house and a ton of unexpected bills on top of it, and I don't think I would have been able to get to this point without my friends and reviewers. I've met so many wonderful people, and it's been fun being in a fandom that isn't just me and my best buds.
About the story itself, there were a few deleted scenes that I wished I could put in, but ultimately decided against. Goro was initially going to physically meet Rumi, for one, but it didn't quite fit, and it felt like it was distracting from the main story too much, which was ultimately Goro finding something to live for. There was definitely not enough time for him to learn to love himself in just the short space of time where the third semester took place, but he has the rest of his life to learn how to, surrounded by people who are willing to show him by loving him back.
Sumire's relationship with Goro is also one that I really wanted to play with, especially as two extremely cynical people who don't really interact in canon. I feel like it's easy to just see Sumi as someone who's peppy and a little airheaded, but she's also extremely depressed, and put her entire existence on fulfilling her sister's wish, much like Goro's existence is based on killing Shido. I think they would understand each other intrinsically on a level that is very fun to explore, beyond "well we both love pego". Also, Atlus what the heck did you do with her. Give her to me. Let me sort it. I didn't think it helped her character any by being kidnapped for a week then beaten up and suddenly being like "wow you're right I can live as myself now". She needed to find that inner strength herself, with a little nudge from Goro who recognises the same pain. Of course, Goro's solution was "kill the person responsible" and Sumire can't reaaally do that with a hit and run, but she has a better support system than Goro and can learn to channel that more productively. If it's gymnastics, or something else entirely, I don't know.
I don't want to go too deep into the details with futaba and haru because this is already getting QUITE LONG, and I'm certain that there are only going to be a few people who have read this far, and those people already know how I feel about their relationship. I mean I was pretty clear in the fic itself, it's one of the less subtle things, I think; Futaba is the youngest, and she's extremely traumatised, and people have been enabling her bad behaviour by indulging it. It's 'helpful' rather than invasive, and okay, it saved Akira's life... but I do think there was definitely a better way to do it than bugging his phone. (Actually, another thing I didn't get to touch on is how the Thieves blatantly used Goro for their own plan regarding the interrogation room rather than attempting to understand him or his motives, perfectly fine with manipulating him back to thinking he's manipulating them, and how much that would fuck up someone who already has a complex about being used... but that's for another day and another fic, I think).
Finally, Maruki: this man is fucked up. I know it's easy to see him as sympathetic when he has the best intentions, and wants to 'help' people, but intentions don't matter when it comes to hurt and abuse. You can intend to be a perfectly kind person and still abuse your power over them. Don't get me wrong, I love him dearly, he's such a fucked up little skrungley boy, but he's definitely not the wet cat that he looks like at first glance. He's a researcher, forward in his field of cognitive pscience to the point where he awakened his own powers by himself, and has been shamelessly abusing his position as a therapist to get more information for his own gain (which, I emphasise, is to control the lives of everyone ever so that nobody suffers again) from the main cast.
Anyway, before I sign off, I will put out there that I have been thinking about Strikers, But With Baby Rei On Board. It's been spinning in my head since I finished. it's not going to happen (I refuse to do an entire game rewrite--just the third semester was an entire Thing, and I hate rehashing canon scenes), but hopefully you can glean some fun and entertaining thoughts about it. If you do, let me know! or don't.
A'ight, that's it from me. Thank you for reading. It's been... well, not long, but I feel like my writing is a little dense and requires some re-reads to fully experience it, so it FEELS longer than it is. Either way, I am kissing gently every single one of you who have made it this far down my massive ramble. Thank you, truly.

My thoughts and theories about Power Girl's future
As you may know, I am a big Power Girl fan. As such, I couldn't be happier with her getting so much new content as of lately. After vanishing post n52, and ignoring her n52-Earth 2 incarnation, it is really refreshing to see her again.
But, after some thinking I reached a theory about her present state, which I plan to present and explain my train of thoughts. Let's get to the point then, what did I "discover"?
Well, I am pretty sure Power Girl is going through a revitalization process right now.
And I am not talking about just coming back after so many years, I am saying full on new solo and stuff. Well let's get to it and start explaining!
Tumblr media
As you may know, in 2023 DC is doing a soft "relaunch" called Dawn of DC. The purpose of this is to: 1) bring back old legacy characters, that have not had content for quite some time, 2) present big names in a welcoming manner to new readers, or 3) presenting new names altogether.
In this scenario, Power Girl stays right on the first category. That being said, DC has been revealing stuff in a slow pace, letting people savor the hype. BUT, I think they already making preparations for PG's return.
First off, we have Action Comics. PG got a mini backup story in three chapters there, done by the QUEENS Leah Williams and Marguerite Sauvage. The story actually started in Lazarus Planet Alpha, but the meat and potatoes is in AC.
This story served as mini reintroduction, quickly going through her most important lore points, all the while establishing a new and very interesting status quo for the character. Having developed psyonic powers, PG has united forces with Omen to open a psychological support clinic for heroes, with their first patient being Beast Boy. This is a great set up, and opens up MANY possible adventures and cool plots. Imagine if they got a chance to talk and help all kinds of heroes! Like Kon or Tim Drake. Heck, current Power Girl could have helped Wally West back in the event-I-shall-not-name. That's a really cool way to reinsert her in the bigger DC universe, and differentiate her from the rest of the Superfam.
Tumblr media
Even more than that, she even got an AMAZINGLY GREAT redesign! This might not seen much in the great scheme of things, but why else would you contract and pay people to do a redesign, if you don't plan on using it in the future. Commercially it makes sense to think they plan on using her more now, if not they would probably just stick with the old design.
Tumblr media
And the last thing I wanted to bring attention to is: DC will release a new edition of her Power Trip TPB in March, which contains the start of her 2009 solo. Considering that this TPB brings back a more in depth look at her origins (in JSA Classified) and some solo adventures, and looking at the fact that it comes out just some days before her last issue in Action Comics, it looks like it's a product aimed at showing even more of her for new readers.
It would not surprise me if later they release a new edition of her TPBs from Judd Winick's run (I want this so fucking much) , and even later on the year start a solo limited/miniseries, like Superboy's in April.
And that's it! Sorry if it got kind of convoluted, but I had so many thoughts, and I had to put them out there somewhere. I know this might jus sound like a mad fan spouting nonsense while drowning in copium, but I really love this character, and knowing she might have a chance to finally be under the sun again (no Kryptonian pun intended) is such a good prospect I cannot help but feel excited to what the future might hold for us!
The future looks bright for our Queen! And I will be there, on the first row, NO MATTER WHAT!

I don't really know how to explain this but I'll try. One reason I specifically don't like Prime is that everything feels like what I can only describe as "fandom-tailored". Like, have you ever had that moment when you look at a character, their design and how they act and you just have this gut feeling that they are almost artificially engineered to be the fandom's new blorbo or something. That's what I felt when I saw Nine and the Not-Metal Not-Sonic, for example, or heck, even Prime!Sonic himself. When I see people on twitter gushing about him going "omg so cutie patootie haha no thought head empty he is soooooo silllyy!!!" I just go "yep that's just about what I expected". Am I making sense?
You are, and yes. Again, my only knowledge of Prime is from some clips, but Sonic feels so... fanfiction-y. "The world has gone BLBLBLBLBLBLBL" that's not how Sonic talks! Oh, he has ~character development~? Which is exactly what fans want from Sonic? Next you'll tell me that he finally cries :^) I bet he will in a climatic moment, I'm calling it rn.
And, y'know, the Sonadow bait, because why not. (the Sonamy bait seems to have more meat to it, at least, but eh, I prefer more subtlety when it comes to them)
Movie Sonic, whether you like him or not, has the justification of 1) not pretending to be canon, and 2) technically starring a younger Sonic who is just learning how to be a hero. Prime Sonic is supposed to be the same from the games. Bro. I know Sonic. That ain't Sonic. Sonic is not an ADHD icon just like me fr fr. Be honest about it, please.
But aside from Sonic, things like Nine Tails (which was compared to an infamous fancomic already) and Apple Metal Sonic feel like they're trying hard to appeal to the average audience. Admittedly, the whole show feels catered to older kids/younger teens, which is why I feel I wouldn't enjoy it. Not that adults can't lmao, but it's... I don't know, I don't want to call it bad, but it's just not what I'd want from a Sonic product.
