When the kids return to the Boiling Isles, Hunter should not have one singular parental figure, instead he will be raised by the whole village.
But also in a distinctly non-parental way.
Let me explain:
For all intents and purposes, Hunter has been surrounded by adults all his life. And he's also had authority over most of them. He's probably been influenced by the scouts working under him more than anyone realized, even if Belos may have had some isolation schemes going on, he was mostly isolated from civilians, not from the people living in the castle. We've also seen quite a number of scouts being at least friendly to him. It's reasonable to assume Hunter is used to a certain kind of peer-like relationship with a lot of adults. Really, the mostly negative relationships with adults he has are his primary caregiver and really, any adult that has any sort of authority over him.
I'm not saying Hunter doesn't deserve a proper "parental" relationship, I'm just saying, in the near future, these would probably be the most difficult for him.
So I don't really see him acknowledge any of the adults he's currently friendly with (Eda, Darius) as "parents". But I can totally see him moving into a spare room of the owl house, with Eda just mumbling "whatever" and them declaring each other disfunctional flatmates. No "my house my rules", but all the equal-footing shenanigans King&Eda were up to in the early episodes, when they similarly called each other "roommates" (nevermind that Eda had probably changed King's diapers back in the day, lol).
And honestly, Hunter would probably crave all sorts of autonomy and would dig getting a hefty helping of agency. I can see him bouncing around living situations a bit before settling into some place that's his own, 100%, and slowly but surely learning to trust all these new adults. So yeah, he'd be a 16 or 17 year old living on his own, maybe, but he'd also have about a dozen responsible adults on speed dial who he would feel he could go to with any problem and would be treated like an equal. Trusting an adult with personal authority would be a way slower process. (And also such an arrangement would be imo way more IC for both Darius and Eda - Eda has made some amazing strides as a parent, but that's also mostly because she genuinely likes and cares about her kids. It still took Luz showing up and almost getting petrified for her to even acknowledge that she loved these kids, and I think Eda, as a general rule, would need some time to warm up to Hunter as well. A "flatmate" situation would be easier for them then any forced upon parent/child role. We don't know enough about Darius for me to make a statement here, but it's a vibe.)
Dang it, now I want a fic about Hunter and the village ;;

I have a habit of breaking plates
Holding on to them as tight as I can
And then watching as they fall to the ground
Never to be reassembled
Replaceable, but unfixable
Did I hold on too tightly?

My Emperor's Children OC named Argyros. As a typical EC, he doesn't suffer from mock modesty ✨
He is infatuated with poetry and treats battle as a sequence of deadly moves guided by mesmerizing verse. His two honorary blades are named Amphymacer and Amphibrach, a reference to specific rhythmic patterns, lulling and ephemeral, whispering of divine light and endless wisdom... Followed swiftly by triumphant blow.

V
-never gets caught pranking people because he’s convinced a detention is the worst punishment in the world (knows even one mistake would give his parents enough reason to disown him, too)
-smells like lavender (bc of the hc that he needs sleeping potions to be able to sleep and not have nightmares) and coffee and maybe flowers
-hates fire and will sit as far away from it as possible even if he’s shivering soooo badly (hc that he used to love sitting in the rain and swimming before the whole cave incident and he’d come into the common room soaking wet and shivering and still refuse to sit near the fire) (evan and dorcas mother-henning him bc they’re genuinely concerned with this habit)
-his day will go absolutely horrible if he doesn’t make his bed in the morning or his schedule gets interrupted (is he on the spectrum? probably)
-he and panda (all the skittles really)smoke all of the time, r does it because he has Anxiety and it calms his nerves
-was a big fan of Poe and Dickens and all kinda of muggle authors (he’d sneak out of Grimmauld when he was little and buy books from muggle shops. he just never got caught or told anyone, unlike Sirius who was very vocal about it) (he also borrowed some from Remus or Lily at times)
-also learned about love and marriage from watching his parents and for the longest time didn’t think love actually existed and that it was only a tale for children (like the tooth fairy or something) (forgot until editing this that Cupid exists, so he probably assumed it was a story like that with the love arrows)
-i don’t know many 70’s bands but he would have LOVED lana and conan, i’m convinced. (J would be such a swiftie tell me i’m wrong)
-doesn’t smile much but when he does it’s absolutely perfect (j absolutely melts when he sees it. R knows this and will absolutely use it to his advantage)
-doesn’t doodle but he writes poetry, often in the margins of book or on scraps of paper or whatever is closest to him. sometimes he’ll just lean over to james/panda/barty/whatever love interest you hc him with and scribble a little poem on their arm or hand just so he can get it out of him (see: Non-Stop from Hamilton)
-usually only wears black or green in public (but secretly loves when he and j are in private and he gets to wear all of j’s clothes, which are so loose and colorful and the complete opposite of the ones his parents allow him to be seen in)
-doesn’t dislike mcgonagall, but hates how pushy she can be about him joining ECs or whatnot (also hc that r, who’s favorite subject was potions and would even brew in his spare time, used to help make healing potions or sleeping droughts and whatnot for Pomfrey since she was always busy and never have time) (he would never admit it to anyone where he was going everyday when he was brewing them, though) (probably also how he realized Remus was a werewolf was because he was always around the infirmary helping out) (r would have been a healer in another life. one where he wasn’t expected to harm instead.)
-wouldn’t like most muggle sports (hates the rich people ones like golf or tennis but also hates how violent hockey or football could get) but he’d like ice/figure skating and ballet, and he would LOVE music (not so much listening to it, that’s j’s thing, but playing it. the piano or the violin, maybe. something delicate and pretty and requires precision)
-gay. the gayest little guy you’ve ever seen. (he and panda/dorcas tried hooking up just once while they were Realizing and it was so embarrassingly awful they both decided never to mention it again)(also Reg and barty/remus being fWb because….well, bc i said so)

Hello
I guess I wasn't clear enough on the third version, so here's Version 4 Introductions are stupid. Hi. My name is Chris. I'm 35. I live in a small-town of about 2000 people in the center of the state of Wisconsin. It is not even close to as glamorous as it sounds. I've lived in quite a few other places though, but I guess it's true that we always go home. I work as a kitchen manager/EC. I've been working in the kitchen on and off for most of my working life. My first job was a cashier at a certain fast food pizza place that makes rectangle pizzas. That aren't good, but the breadsticks always kicked ass.
I am a massive music fan (it's playing right now) and when I tell you I listen to all music, believe me when I say all music. My main daily playlist is always growing and includes everything from iwrestledabearonce to Katy Perry (listen to her unplugged album. Kissed a Girl as a jazz type thing is beautiful) to Atmosphere to Miley Cyrus to Alan Jackson to Dying Fetus. My favorite band is Descendents with Amigo The Devil and Frank Turner coming very very close to that coveted spot. I am a major horror fan, and I don't think I own a single t-shirt that isn't somehow horror related. I'm a sucker for the 80's slashers. I've seen every Friday the 13th movie enough times that if you ever watch them with me, I will annoy you by quoting the lines throughout the whole movie. I am Bipolar. Type 1. I am a raging cynic.
I am an addict in (long-term) recovery. I am sober. I write more than any sane person does, but I never once claimed to be sane. I write because if I don't, my head will explode. You can think this a metaphor all you want.
I do not write for anyone's approval, not even my own. I do this because it's a safe form of release that it's ok to be addicted to. If you have constructive criticism, I'll gladly take it because let's face it, I'm pretty bad at this whole thing. If you're just going to tell me I suck, in however many words, well, I don't need you to tell me that. Dick. I don't follow any rules or guidelines in what I write. So I call it lawless poetry even though half of it doesn't even fit poetry. Most of it is stream of conciseness built around a line or phrase I came up with during the day. I do this every single night. It's my ritual before bed. I journal (which is also posted in a blog) and then I work on my phrases and lines. I've been called garbage at this, but to those who can't give me a reason (other then you don't like it)if you can't back up your reason for being an art critic, your opinion means jack to me. Besides, anyone who claims to be an art critic is a narcissistic jackass. Art is subjective. Not just "I don't like it." Tell me why you don't like it. Tell me it's repetitive. I need to stop. Or I'll rant and moan about why I hate armchair critics for way too long.
So what will you find on my tiny drop in the ocean of the internet? You will see bad poetry, and an awful lot of it to be honest. You'll find random drops of fiction or a story I happen to be working on and want some form of opinion on it. I post at least once a day, but can post up to ten or fifteen times a day. And most of it is just your average mundane sad boy bad poetry. And if you see how much I do post, think of how much stuff I have laying around that never gets touched. I have boxes of notebooks, napkins and matchbooks with lines I thought were clever.
So since I write so much, what the hell is it exactly that I write about? That's easy. I'm pretty predictable in the end. So, this stuff: The Girl With Ocean Blue Eyes*, Kid*,The Broken Mirror Girl*, My Junkie Angel*, The Girl From California*, An Ex Band-Mate*, love, lost lovers, hopelessness, isolation, drug addiction, alcoholism, depression, forgotten acquaintances, mental illnesses, rage, hate, rejection, joy, insignificant moments, slices of life, laughter, beauty, self and self-reflection, self-hate, art, other writers, panic, infatuations, obsession, therapy, group homes, rehab, jail, grace, nature, loss, hope, fear, grief, anguish, philosophy, anarchism, nihilism, religion, god, the devil, ugliness, politics, serial killers, cults, suicide, death, destruction, chaos, music, validation, closure, memory, enemies, friends, rock bottom, sex, violence, rock and roll, sin, self-exploration, bipolar disorder, schizoaffecive disorder, pain, self-destruction much more.
Consider this line right here your trigger warning. Please see above to see my chosen subjects, and it should be clear that I will write something that can bring up some feelings. I make music as well for another creative outlet. No, I don't churn out songs like I do the written word, but I love my music and if you would like to tell me how much I suck at it here's the links:
If I come off as extremely depressed in my work, please know that I am fine. I'm good. Ok? Ok.
There, now you know the barest of my bare bones. You want to know anything else, just ask. I'm always happy for the fifteen second interaction. And I always try to interact with those who interact with me, but I am not one to talk first. If you follow me, know that I will most likely follow you back. Unless your space is empty, a bot, or straight-up porn.
*Not their real names.

Ghosts Teachers AU
Fanny: Mathematics but does cover Mary if she needs to, or Robin (except Biology she will not TOUCH that)
Cap: History and German. Also knows french so he can help Pat.
Humphrey: Headteacher! Tag-teams Art with Alison, and History with Cap. Always does the Tudor periods history because Cap knows when his knowledge is outmatched. Would have made Robin the deputy head but the man is FAR too busy.
Annie: RE! Occasionally gets Mary to help out if she’s not busy.
Pat: PE! Always makes it fun for the kids and accommodates those who cant do as much very well. Since PE is always in the afternoons, his mornings are spent doing the other half of his teaching: French! Also helps Fanny with Maths if she needs it. Runs the scouts in the assembly hall with Humphrey’s permission (like he’d ever deny it)
Thomas: English. Everyone dreads his poetry unit. Also helps out at the library if they need covering. Once tried to help Mary with home studies and was almost headbutted out the room. It had become a schoolwide meme. Humphrey has it hung in his office.
Mary: Home studies! Food tech mostly but is fighting tooth and nail for more home ec stuff like sewing units. Fanny is backing her all the way. Some RE with Annie. Also does the local Sunday school.
Kitty: Is a TA. Currently drifting in and out of all of the lessons to find out where she wants to go. She is wondering about following Alisons footsteps and going into counselling or pastoral work, but she also likes biology and anatomy and is struggling with choosing which.
Robin: DT teacher. Chemistry, Physics and Biology Teacher. Everyone wonders how he does it but he will never share his secrets. (His secret is fanny helping him, and her secret is pat helping her) Is deffo the Fun teacher, is always blowing stuff up. Occasionally gets Julian or Mike to come in and ‘help’ with experiments. Has been trying to get an astronomy club going for years. (Also was working towards being a councellor but didnt complete the training because he struggled with the emotional baggage of it. Nobody knows this but Alison and Mary suspect.)
Alison: Is the Art teacher alongside Humphrey. Is wanting to take training to be a counsellor and work in the Pastoral unit. Her and Mike always have lunch together either in the staff room, the nurses office or her classroom.
Mike: Nurse :) the kids LOVE him. Like people ask who’s your favourite teacher and though a couple will say robin, most will say mike even tho hes not a teacher. (The teachers themselves are like yeah ok thats fair.) loves helping with robin’s experiments. Has come out of lunch more than once with paint on some part of him.
Julian: Not a teacher, but is the deputy head. does the schools budgets and accounts and is in charge of any promotional things. Gets a bit insane during exam times. Connected to the school board in some way. (Sort of wishes he was a teacher so the kids would like him more. Unbeknownst to him the kids do like him. He couldnt give a hoot about uniform regs unless its picture day or needed for promotional reasons, he and robin make a great team that endears him to all the kids and is cool with his experiments, and he swears. So. Obviously the kids love that.)

Trigger warnings; Child abuse, neglect, religious trauma, etc.
🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️
Name: Claudine Esther-Mary Frollo.
Known Aliases:  The Mouse girl, the rat girl, the weird religious girl, the Belle girl,  that weird Frollo girl, Crepe girl, Ms. Swabbie, She who does not make a sound, and Harriet's Swabbie.
Nicknames or Other: red, Mousey, the meek mouse, Classy, Leftie, the carrot top, Brainy, Dean, Essie, Einstein, Claudy, Dinny, Dina, Didi, Claw, Cherry, Bluey, Rosie, little Rose, Ruby, Brainiac, Beagle,  mystery, Rusty, Scarlet, star girl, Spitfire, chatterbox, and Bookworm.
Do not ever call me angel or goddess.
Date of Birth or Best Guess: November 1st, eighteen to nineteen years ago.
Place of Birth: the isle of the lost on the second floor of Frollo's Creperie.
Favorite Color: Grey because it reminds me of my rat friend and it's neutral.
it also makes my father less angry and less likely to punish me—
Favorite Activity: can I put more than one? I've heard you can put more than one, so I'm going to do that. Sorry if it's wrong and impolite. I like baking, cooking, drawing, painting, listening to music, reading, doing experiments, oil painting, tie-dye, sewing, playing music, sailing, learning languages, learning, and reading/writing poetry.
Favorite School Subject; Home ec because it's one of the only classes I have other than my bible study classes. I'm home-schooled, so I don't know any other classes one would have.
Father's Name (or alias): Claude Frollo.
Mother's Name (or alias): I don't know. My father doesn't like to talk about her and made that very clear the one time I asked. I think she's dead.
Father's Profession: Owner of Frollo's Creperie.
Mother's Profession: She's dead so none.
Who is your favorite of the first wave of VKs? There is no wrong answer.
Evie, I guess. She seemed really nice and didn't treat me as if I was creepy like her friends did.
In your own words, tell us why you want to come to Auradon. There is no wrong answer.
There's no wrong answer? Then I'll be honest.
I want to come to Auradon because I can't stand living on the same island as my father. It might seem harsh but it's the truth and you wouldn't understand unless you were here.
Everyone knows how he treats me. Knows how he's trying to keep me dumb so I won't go exploring 'sinful' things that I have interest in like equal rights, science, art, and music. Knows that he works me halfway to death and punishes me harshly for everything—even things out of my control.
I am everything my father despises.
Red headed, female, left handed, feminist, etc. He hates everything about me and makes it clear every time he sees me.
I don't feel safe here. I fear for my life and the lives of those harboring me.
They may be stronger than me and him but he has more power than us.
More influence.
And that scares me. Please, you're all supposed to be good and sweet and kind and right. You're supposed to be heroes and save people. So, save me and the other kids of the isle.
Please. I'll be good.
I promise.
Please.
I'll do anything, just get me out of here before he kills me. I don't want to see hellfire.  I don't want to go back to the closet or the flames. Please. Why did you let this happen? Why didn't you help us? What did we do wrong—
Signature:
Claudine Esther-Mary Frollo.

Thank you so much, as always! From this post.
🛼 ⇢ describe your latest wip with five emojis
Ooh, interesting one! OK, so, since it’s about an OC-EC couple that for Reasons to communicate through an OC intermediary, let’s try this…
💜➡️💛⬅️💜
🦴 ⇢ is there a piece of media that inspires your writing?
There are many, of many kinds! I mean, obviously, the Star Wars media universe in general is one of them. Beyond that, it’s hard to narrow down, as poetry, music, literature, and artwork of various eras have inspired me at various times. Recent inspirations have included a 1969 Greek protest song (coupled with a Benjamin Britten choral piece, in I Only Play), a sound sculpture at SFMOMA (Bright Sadness); and an entry in a 1932 glossary of place names in the state of Washington (Useless Bay).
🔪 ⇢ what’s the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
There have been many, but one of the goofiest recent instances was for Say Yah to da U.R., Eh!, for which I spent some time looking up tidbits about the humor, culture, and and in-jokes of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (U.P.)!

What was private school like? I'm assuming you don't have a basis to compare to a public school (and those vary drastically depending on where you're at in the world/country/state/or even within the same city) but maybe you do have thay comparison.
Just curious maybe even to what kind of classes were offered? A school is a school but there has to be something to set a private school in a different category or why would they exist.
💙
I got insecure and googled it, and according to wikipedia a more accurate name is charter school as tuition was free. The admittance is on a first-come, first-served basis.
But it was still different from public school, which I did go to. I started charter school in 6th grade and then went to a public high school afterwards.
My specific charter school is called Kunskapsskolan (knowledge school) and surprisingly, out of 80 schools, only 36 are in Sweden. (Apparently, they have schools in the UK, USA, the Netherlands, India, and Saudi Arabia. Although Wikipedia uses the word sponsored for them so they might not operate the same?)
Anyway.
It was a very individual learning plan; the subjects were split into steps and courses. You had a step goal for the step subjects since that was completely under the student's control, and then a grade goal for the rest as the course classes had group projects, while music, art, and phys ed were weekly classes.
The classes in another province were home ec, wood shop, textile shop/sewing, and engineering. Engineering tended to be part of the courses. I only chose sewing once, and that was the time I didn't go lol
For those classes, you had two classes each day; one subject before lunch and one after.
The rest of the year, you planned your schedule each morning in a logbook and then your homeroom teacher had to sign off on it.
For the step subjects (swedish, english, modern language, math), there were workshops hosted by teachers if you wanted to be able to ask for help. Otherwise, there were computers or group rooms that you could use to study on your own or with classmates.
For the course subjects, there were obligatory lectures and seminars.
Every fifth step, you had to show your work to a teacher, and there were certain things you had to do in class, so planning your schedule was important.
Of course, this whole step system meant that you could skip school very easily. You just had to be back for homeroom at the end of the day, and not miss any obligatory stuff. I took some very long lunch breaks and afternoon breaks.
And it was very easy to use the computers for other things. I wrote a lot of fanfiction for a certain magic school fandom, made games using powerpoint, and went on forums. I also wrote a lot of poetry during this time.
There was also one year that I had a lot going on and just fully skipped phys ed, but never got told off, and I also got a passing grade. (This coincided with the year that one of the math/science teachers was also teaching phys ed, at least for my class.)
Oh, and my homeroom teacher married the music teacher. The above-mentioned year, she was on parental leave. My class and the music teacher's class got to see their home in 9th grade. They had made a quiz where each answer was a student; I was the answer for a question about Alice in Wonderland.
(Each grade had 4 classes, I was in class 2 and the music teacher was responsible for class 4. The labeling was grade-class so I was in 6-2, 7-2, 8-2 and 9-2.)
Other fun facts to throw in is that the school used to be a mental hospital. There was a locked building on the grounds full of old hospital beds and stuff, but the windows were blocked so you couldn't really see in. I had a friend in the grade above that was a medium and said the school was haunted.
My class had a sleepover at the school in ninth grade, as our fun graduation thing.
Oh, and there was a yearly, student written musical. I never ended up being brave enough to participate but they were fun to watch!

Hey there! I'm having a debate with my mother and thought I'd ask an actual Frederick expert. So did he actually have STDs/broken dick to explain his lack of children, was he gay or both? Like what is the source situation? Thanks.
Hi! Oh boy, I am not used to asks and I'm sick, this is gonna get rambly... :'D
Frederick's sexuality has been a subject of debate pretty much since the man himself was a teenager. The story about him sleeping with farm girls and sex workers "because his father kept him away from reputable women" and contracting syphilis/gonnorhea in his youth originates with Johann Georg Zimmermann. Zimmermann was Frederick's contemporary and a doctor. And also Frederick's biggest fan. I vaguely remember a story about him meeting his idol and breaking down in tears afterwards because there was "nobody he loved more than the King of Prussia".
Anyway.
Zimmermann became Frederick's physician in the last months before his death and published multiple books about him afterwards, one of which contained the theory mentioned above. According to him, Frederick was actually super into his wife (and women in general) and they had an amazing time together before the gonnorhea flared back up. This flare up was allegedly treated with a surgery that deformed Frederick's nether region and thus he pretended that he had no interest in his marriage despite loving Elisabeth Christine so very much. Instead, he pretended to be gay for clout in enlightenment circles and so the public would know that the King was still able to fuck.
Sounds wild? Tabloid-y? Absolutely.
Now one would think that, as the last royal physician, Zimms would know best about the state of Frederick's dick. However, a surgeon who also saw the King naked (albeit post mortem) said that there was absolutely nothing unusual to report. Zimmermann doesn't give a source for any of his biographical claims either and even other contemporaries thought he was full of shit (Kotzebue was on his side though. You may know Kotzebue as the reactionary poet and playwright who got assassinated in 1819, in part leading to the so called Karlsbader Beschlüsse. Old Zimms sure moved in a popular crowd).
Still, Zimmermann's writing was used as a source on Frederick's sexuality up until the early 2010s because nothing says "great source!" like unsourced claims about maritial love from someone who was five years old and in Switzerland at the time. Other than Zimmermann, some people (Venohr, Ohff quoting Venohr) also quote an excerpt from an alleged letter from Frederick to an unspecified friend that basically just says "I love my wife's vagina", but that one is probably fake. I'd love to know when it started showing up in literature though.
In the early 2010s, the overall tone shifted (not that nobody noticed that Frederick was queer before, there are 19th century articles about that too iirc and Mitford alluded to it in the 1970s). Newer biographies, like Burgdorf and Blanning, as well as an article for the big Friederisiko exhibition of 2012 clearly state that there is no reasonable doubt that Frederick was (primarily) interested in men (there were a few women that he may have had feelings for, but this post is getting long).
There are other contemporary accounts that suggest relations with men (even if we're not counting Voltaire), there's his poetry (oh God, his poetry...), letters, his general group of associates, and, funnily enough, even Zimmermann, who says that everyone close to the King said he "loved like Socrates Alcibiades" (Zimms, of course, knows better and saw right past the facade or something).
Frederick did definitely try to have kids (at least partly because his dad promised him a trip outside of Prussia if he produced an heir...) and was not successful. This could be due to many reasons, we probably won't ever know the real answer. Maybe his dick really did fall off, maybe he just thought he was impotent, maybe there were some issues on EC's part, maybe he just didn't try enough. What we do know is that he evnetually outsourced the heir-department to his brother (Augustus) William, who was definitely into women and from whom the modern main line of the Hohenzollern descends.
Boy this post is a mess, I hope that any sort of insight was gained from this :'D For a more orderly analysis of Frederick's sexuality and more source quotes I would suggest reading Blanning. Burgdorf is fun to read too, especially for an overview of the people close to Frederick, but he doesn't source his claims properly and is kind of the opposite extreme to the "he was totally straight"-crowd.
TL;DR: Zimmermann was full of shit, but maybe his dick was broken, who are we to judge. He was probably not straight anyway.
Stuff that's not necessarily directly relevant but that I can link to: A personal favourite primary source are the Marwitz letters (which @your-disobedient-servant translated), which are mostly proof for the sexuality of Frederick's younger brother Henry, but which are hilarious to read nonetheless. There's also a man shown in William Hogarth's satirical painting Marriage a la mode from 1743/44 who plays the flute, has Frederick's nose and tan, and is positioned among "the homosexuals" in front of a painting of Ganymede being captured by Zeus in the form of an eagle... That's not really a good source for Frederick's own life, but a fun tidbit on the side about the european gossip situation. Marriage a la mode is an interesting painting. (Article about Frederick's nose in contemporary paintings, I'm sorry I only provide links to useless knowledge)
