Question about Eleazar, is your hilarious writing of him based on any canon fact or not? Thanks to you I can't see Eleazar as nothing more than a joke. The character is forever ruined for me 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

@therealvinelle and I take the worst possible interpretation of him from canon and run with it.

In canon, it's never stated whether Eleazar and Carmen sleep with the Denali's human lovers or if they're monogamous. The at face value implication Bella provides as our narrator is that they are monogamous and that when Kate hooks up with Garret they're monogamous too and that Laurent was monagamous with Irina (For all that he says, and I quote, "Tanya was very welcoming").

What I will say is that it's a bit odd to go to a nudist colony if one is not a nudist or at least interested in seeing naked people. But it's never addressed in canon and more me side-eying those two and wondering if they're really involved or not.

The Denali are portrayed as good characters, the closest to the Cullens, and that their affairs with humans are entirely consensual ever since they uh stopped eating their lovers in bed. However, per canon, vampires are terrifying to ordinary people and there's a high risk in taking breakable human lovers. When inviting terrified people to your house in the middle of nowhere and suggesting they have intercourse with you they likely believe they have no choice.

Which means of course that Eleazar is a) very likely a part of that b) is at the very least extremely supportive of it.

There's also background of Eleazar that makes him seem to have been an extremely unlikeable person to those around him and what he says is... Well, if you're Bella, you think he sounds very wise and helpful. Anyone else and he kind of sounds like a useless douchebag.

However, my point is, none of this is explicit in canon nor what a sane reader is supposed to get out of the story. What you're supposed to see is a humane man who discovered the diet, has a history with the Volturi and left them not realizing their villainy, and is incredibly wise and knowledgeable concerning the development of gifts.

However, if you look at canon too closely, it's not an impossible interpretation of his character or entirely outlandish given what happens in canon. It is, however, the most pessimistic and worst possible interpretation of him.

It was one dark stormy day she walk outside hoping she was the only one out that night but there was a vampire watching her nobody had to know right? As she walk to the alley the vampire saw her looking at her phone with tears. “Why did she do this to me….” The poor young girl got kicked out of her house she didn’t want to admit it but she was the vampire came out a little bit to watch her he watched her cry. he then saw her wipe her tears away as two guys came by and grabbed her

“Well well what do we have here~” one of the guys said he was of course drunk the vampire watched as the guys tried to touch her arms trying to pin her the vampire was angry at this as he watch her lick and scream. “Gentlemen leave the woman alone” both the guys turned their heads to face the vampire he had red eyes, brown hair, and very short hair the three men had glared at the vampire “What if we don’t~?” The vampire looked at the female and then back at the men he took three steps forward and chuckled and looked at the woman

“well hun better cover your eyes okay?” The vampire told the woman as she cover her eyes “gentlemen I won’t ask again” both the men looked at her as they grip her neck and they chuckled. “Very well then” at once one of the men was against the wall choking “What the hell are you?!?!?” The man said as The vampire chuckled at the other man’s response “I’ll never say” as he said as he dropped the dead body of the guy he choked. As the footsteps of the vampire got closer to the other male he then kicked his head clean off.

After that he made sure the bodies were cleaned up and had no evidence he look at the young woman and picked her up she was shaking a lot and she tried to cry because of what the men did early. “Hush. Your name young woman?” She didn’t respond as he saw her tears and he wiped them away “y/n…” she replied finally he held her and smile and walked away

“My names Garrett, pleasure to meet you y/n” he carried her off into the woods into the cabin he owned “you can stay here for now” and she look down not knowing what to say. “I don’t know what to say…Thank you.” She had a small smile and he brought some blankets for her to use for the night.

Garrett’s Mate

God being mates with Garrett would be so fun. If you are energetic, even more so because the chaotic energy this man brings

He met you while he was hunting. He was completely driven by the smell of your blood, but not in the way where he hungered for you. Just that he knew you were his and it was his job to protect you

And boy does he try. He likes being able to feel that he is the one that takes care of you but he admires how you can manage yourself. I imagine if you two spar and you beat him fair and square this man is all heart eyes.

Meaning that every once in awhile he lets you win because he feels bad. He just loves to see your face when you’re all proud of yourself

If you have any gifts of any kind he will want you to test it on him. He is pretty secure in himself and loves to have a strong independent mate

Like I said he’s pretty much always heart eyes for you

He is a huge thrill seeker so you both do the most insane adrenaline inducing things humans have thought of

Except one time Garrett wanted to skydive and see what would happen without a parachute. You convinced him to use it but he was pretty much grounded from any risky activities for a long while

He loves for living on the edge of getting the volturis attention

He likes to play with his food yes this is canon as far as I’m concerned

The two of you will go clubbing and enjoy everyone watching the of you because let’s face you would be the most beautiful creatures there

Then you would split up and see who could either A get their meal out of the door first or B who could get the most amount of people to follow them

This worked well until you had three dudes following you and Garret got jealous

Obviously he knew how amazing and beautiful you were but the men were bold and handsy you would smacked them into the wall if garret didn’t come over

It goes both ways he plays cat and mouse with his victims and you start to get annoyed, “are you going to eat your food, or do you want to keep this one?”

He almost kept doing it just to rile you up

When the two of you do want to relax he loves to wrap his arms around you and have you snuggle into him

Neither of you have the capacity to stay still for very long though and after a while snuggling usually leads into something else

You guys have tried everything and I mean everything in the bedroom

Your kisses are always passionate. You may as well be making out every time. Around others though he just has his arms around you and will kiss you on the temple and whisper he loves you

Overall your relationship is centered around fun and enjoying life. Pillow fights, game nights, DARES are extremely dangerous for the both of you because neither of you can or will say no to a challenge

Every couple of years the two of you will go on double dates with Rosalie and Emmett and it always end in the destruction of some kind of property because those two are just as competitive. Edward hates that you guys don’t ever invite him and Bella out

You two are a power couple and are completely obsessed with eachother

I am going to write this as a headcanon thing!

I genuinely think if he was British he would still hate being British, it kind of comes with the territory. In this country, if you love being English (English over British) you are usually considered racist.

Being British I suppose is slightly different, I dunno it’s a thing here.

Also basing these on if he was a 70s man.

-IF he was British would be a punk, he would advocate for the abolition of the monarchy (me too tho). He would be scruffy, rough and angry, he would pick fights and punch Nazis.

-Would have had family that worked in the mines, might have had to work in them himself before he ditched that and ran off with a bunch of friends to fuck shit up somewhere.

-Probably got work in a grimy little record shop and spent his wage on punk shows and booze. Shared a house with 6 other people and constantly sticked himself with a needle trying to sew patches on to his jacket.

-While he joined the army in canon, I genuinely believe he would not even consider joining the British army because why would he serve for queen country?

-Would end up opening a bar for punks and see a new generation come flooding in. Would host shows and diver into a brawl to break things up.

Everyone knew Tanya had been having a rough month.

After getting back from the Volturi scuffle, in which Irina died, Tanya had retreated into herself. Eleazar and Carmen and Kate and Garrett had each other to help console them, but Tanya was trying to deal with her pain on her own. Sometimes Kate and Garrett would return from hunting to find Tanya just laying in Irina’s closet.

When Tanya got home from hunting, her mouth dropped open.

“Save yourself!” Garrett yelled to her, covered in snow, as Kate rapid fired snowballs his way/

Tanya got hit square in the jaw by Carmen’s snowball, and she quickly scooped up a handful to throw back.

Mates turned on mates, shirts ripped to allow for ease of throwing, and the lawn was visible in some places by the time the snow fight ended.

Tanya sat on the ground, arms around Kata, laughing as Eleazar tried to shake the snow out of his dress pants. Tanya leaned her head against Kate’s shoulder, and the whole coven felt... not quite whole, but healing for the first time in months.

Hi there? Your Dome!AU musings have made me super curious:

1) How is functionally-comatose Marcus useful to Aro, when there are no vampire threats to psychoanalyze? He’d probably sign up to be dismembered in the basement

2) How would Denali be reacting to a dome? I imagine they have some wildlife, but do they stick to being “vegetarian”? Is Eleazar seizing the moment to be a local god? (I’m not sure I want to know the answer, but it’s like a train wreck— I can’t look away 😅)

3) Amun and the Romanian covens: did they also seize the day and become local gods? Do they gorge themselves and run out of warm humans?

4) nomads like Garret? How are they doing…

5) Aftermath of domes dropping: how does the global human population fare? Did Volterra do the best out of all the cities/covens? Some rankings? Sorry if this is a pushy ask, I’m a nerd hoping for some statistics

With that, your questions.

How is Marcus Useful?

The same way he was before, honestly. He can detect the relationship of the people to Aro. Do the humans trust the Volturi? If they don't trust them, will they tolerate them? Who are going to be the troublemakers? Is anyone planning murder or intending someone harm?

Marcus can see all these relations at a glance where Aro would have to keep tabs on over 10,000 people who do not wish to touch his hand. Marcus can do so unobtrusively without the humans ever realizing how closely they're being observed.

Marcus can also see how the guard is performing under current circumstances and if anyone is too bitter over the dismembered guards to work properly.

Once again, Marcus is shockingly vital to operations.

The Denali Under a Dome

The Denali are in Alaska, which in itself is a fairly less populated state, but particularly in the interior where they're located. They have the national park nearby, whatever cabins are there, but the biggest population center nearby is probably Anchorage.

Point being, unlike Forks even, there's not too many human neighbors at a time to be stuck under the dome with them. Probably just a handful.

Still, they have quite a bit of wildlife, but likely not nearly the hunting range they had before and not a population that's sustainable with their feeding habits.

I imagine they try to stick to the diet as long as possible and that they scour the local population for good looking men who will want protection and comfort in this trying time.

Eventually, though, with too small a population of wildlife and people to draw from, the Denali will starve.

The Egyptians and the Romanians

Amun's likely too cautious, this smells like Volturi nonsense, Aro's trying to smoke them out for reasons Amun can't fathom or else trick Amun into breaking the law.

Amun watches as the humans lose their goddamn minds, crunching the numbers and panicking as he realizes his coven may starve very quickly.

Likely he dismembers Tia and Kebi so that he and Benjamin will have more food.

The Romanians, too, are wary they're being observed and figure Aro's just tormenting them/slowly starving them. To spite him, they choose to be very careful with their resources and force the humans to give them "blood donations" and if they don't, they just eat them. The humans quickly learn to put their blood in the bucket.

Nomads

With the dome over Volterra?

Not well.

When the world figures out that the Volturi are out to lunch competition for territory begins in earnest. Nomads have to very skillfully defend their territory and Garrett... is alone and has no gift.

Garrett's not surviving that one.

If he's under a dome, he'll slowly face starvation.

Aftermath

In terms of the wellbeing of the human population + starvation, Volterra probably ends up on top. They're draconian overlords, but their priority is keeping the human population as healthy and stable as possible.

Forks does about average, with the Cullens avoiding killing when possible, and Carlisle as an on the clock, able to be awake 24 hours, highly knoweldgeble and invulnerable surgeon at their services.

Those under the Romanians and the Egyptians do okay. They have no respect for human life, but they're wary of Volterra and don't want to lose their livestock. They're going to be careful with how many they kill and with the Romanians coming up with ways to make the blood last longer to spite Aro.

Denali wouldn't have enough humans to start with to even be in the running. The nomads would be in trouble but it depends how long they're under a dome for/how large the nearby population is for them to go through.

If you want actual numbers we'd have to get into writing the fic territory and we'd need to decide on where exactly the Romanians and Egyptians are and how long the domes are up for.

Lauren / Vampire/Year changed 1999

Backstory: You were your average seventeen year old living in Winona, Missouri. You were changed one night when you and your girlfriend were going to see American Pyscho in theaters you had to meet at the theater across town because you weren’t out yet to your parents . You waited outside the theater for her to show, hours had passed you waited until the theater closed the nearest payphone was a few blocks away, you started walking when you got the feeling you were being followed. Next thing you know you were pulled into the alley at the speed light, it was so quick it took your breath away. Then you felt a burning pain in your neck your world faded black a few moments later. When you “woke up” three days later you were in a dumpster behind a burger place. It was dark out, your throat burned you saw things with such clarity when you moved you broke things. You felt like you entered the twilight zone. You ended up killing five people before you got a grip on what you were doing. You threw the bodies in the dumpster and lit it on fire. You never looked back. It wasn’t until February that you met a vampire until then you didn’t know what you become just that you sparkles in the sun you were super strong and fast and drank human blood. His name was Garrett you both met in Denver. He explained what you both were and helped you for a few days. You guys stayed by each other for a few months then went your separate  ways.

Where it began: Life was pretty crazy, your bloodlust was becoming to much. You left Los Angeles you needed to isolate yourself and the best place to do that was Alaska. It was eighteen years after your change. But your downhill spiral started two years ago when you found out about your parents death, the faded memories were all you had of them. You couldn’t even attend the funeral. You stayed in the woods leaving to the town over every few weeks to feed. One day when you were in a tree watching a few mountain goats you named them they were like your pet that would run from you in fear if you got to close that’s when a familiar face attacked the goat, you watched confused on what he was doing then you reailzed he was drinking it’s blood after he finished a blonde joined him.

“Garrett what the hell are you doing?” To be honest you were angry because he just killed Felicia the Goat.

“Hey old friend why are you lurking in the trees, come down here meet my girl” Garrett called up to you. You met Kate you and Garrett caught up. You honestly only half believed his story of the Volturi standoff and the involvement of werewolves a few years back. Kate explained her diet to you, you were interested you loved the idea of not killing a human ever again she said her sister Tanya could help you more than she could. You followed them home that’s when you saw the most beautiful girl to ever live. Her strawberry blonde hair and her nice smile hooked you in. Of course your soft cheeks and kind heart roped Tanya in.  

You adjusted to the diet slipping up a few times in your first decade. Then a few decades later Tanya’s friend Alice planned your wedding. Nirvana was the theme, it was like a dream a true fairytale wedding. You guys traveled the world for decades life was perfect.

How you die: The year is 7089 the Volturi had long died off years ago thanks to you helping tear them apart. You were happy to rip Heidi’s head off you both lost important people in the battle. Many vampires were dead (due to the vampire war) as were many humans due to the world war 17 that killed nearly 64% of the human population. You and Tanya were in Italy that was pretty much abandoned when a werewolf came across your paths. You sacrificed yourself for Tanya. She died a few months later she couldn’t bare being without you. Her life had no point anymore, not even Kate could bring a smile to her face. Kate mourned but Garrett helped her heal. You died loved and very much in love
