Green comet closest to Earth next week

On February 1 and 2, Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) will reach its closest point to Earth (0.29 AU/ 27 million mi/ 44 million km). The comet might be visible to the eye alone. You'll need a dark-sky site. And you can always use binoculars or a telescope to spot this green visitor from the outer solar system. Read about the green comet.

The latest image from the NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope shows a portion of the dense centre of our galaxy in unprecedented detail, including never-before-seen features astronomers have yet to explain. The star-forming region, named Sagittarius C (Sgr C), is about 300 light-years from the Milky Way’s central supermassive black hole, Sagittarius A*.

Purity Culture Hates Your Body

That's right. Purity Culture hates your body and wants you to hate your body and the body of your lover too.

Let's go back a little bit.

There have been ideas that have been called heresies. One of them is when it is claimed that God wasn't really a man, but was inside the man, that God didn't actually take on flesh, but wore it like a costume. Why did they come up with this idea? Because they could not accept that the body, the flesh, was good in and of itself. They believed that the flesh is evil, and a spiritual God would not dare become that. But because good theology claims that the body, God's creation, is good, even though fallen, then this idea was rejected as heresy.

This heresy lingers today. No! More than lingers. It thrives! Purity Culture wants you to believe your body is bad and the only way around this is to dedicate it to the Lord, somehow sanctifying it, elevating it to something more than it is, making it spiritual and holy and sanctified, so that it is no longer just your body, but some holy object.

Here we see a couple. The guy embraces the hatred and rejection of his flesh. The woman wants to love it, embrace it, appreciate it, enjoy it. And she wants him to love her body, embrace it, appreciate it, and enjoy it.

He wants to turn this moment into some sacramental sacred session, when she just wants to get intimate, express their mutual love, connect, and revel in each other's bodies.

There is the power of now, but I believe there is also the power of THIS right here right now.

She wants to love and enjoy HIM. He wants her to love and enjoy the Lord IN him!

It's not going to work!

I hope she eventually wins, because that's where the joy is.
