I think on this fine Saturday afternoon it's a good opportunity to take a breather and remember that there are really no ethical paparazzi pictures. Every single one is inherently exploitative.
Just because photos were taken on a movie set, when someone is 'working,' does not make the practice any less invasive and creepy. Imagine just going about your day, doing your job and having some weirdo snapping pictures of you to sell without your consent for others to endlessly repost online.
There are thousands of pictures of your favourite actor online already. Plenty taken with his knowledge and consent. I'd really like to see more of them on my dash, rather than the creeper shots.
And don't get me started how disseminating these pictures directly leads to people going to said sets. What starts off as admiring how good someone looks has real world implications.
No, hanging around a movie set and disrupting people doing their jobs is not harmless fun or a way to show your appreciation.
If you hang around a movie set, you are a stalker.
Don't tell me that it's okay to take your online admiration for someone offline. You may admire him but he does not, and will never, personally know you. He will never be your friend/boyfriend/daddy. He is a stranger.
The only way meeting your favourite actor is going to happen is at a convention or maaaaaybe a movie premiere if you're incredibly fortunate. You know, places they appear specifically to meet fans (or not in the case of premieres, where the purpose is to promote a movie. Which is also completely understandable if actors don't stop. You are not owed an interaction).
Of course, you cannot help it if you randomly run into someone you admire in the wild. Even then, consider that they probably won't be all too thrilled to be approached in public by a complete stranger. It's up to you to gauge the situation, but remember there is a person at the heart of all of this.
Boundaries and respect are a kindness which deserves to be extended to each and every human being regardless of their looks/talent/fame/wealth.
Fandoms blur those lines a little too often for my liking and I think just scrutinising what you're interacting with, or what behaviour you could be possibly falling down that slippery slope towards is nice to do every once in a while.
I mean no malice with this post and it is not directed at anyone in particular. It's something I cannot help but feel strongly about because I've seen this destructive cycle time and again in fandoms over the years. It's not healthy and it makes us all a little bit more disconnected from our humanity for it...
#not naming names but....... screw it#pedro pascal#pedro pascal fandom#accepting you will never interact with or meet this man will set you free from misery and jealousy i promise#he's great! if you think he's great watch another movie! write about a character! edit some photos of him! make gifs!#there are many MANY ways to engage with his work which don't include reposting creepy invasive photos taken without his consent#it's bs that this is just 'part of the job' because WHY... why should it be any different than any other job??#i know we always venerate talent and put people on pedestals.... that's a tale as old as time#but seeing him blow up last year was wild to witness and some of the behaviour from newer fans is very disheartening to see#he's just a human who poops and farts and is a dick sometimes like the rest of us. let's not treat him like a god thanks#spud rants#a lot LOL#i've bottled this up for a bit because the way this developed in real time to people actually going to the set is. what#and don't 'if pedro was in your city' because NO??? i wouldn't STALK SOMEONE? there's 0 justification for it#i have far better things to do than stalk people#i may be an autistic flop but i'm not a CREEPY STALKER autistic flop thanks x#anyway like i said this is truly not @ anyone in particular and i don't think you are a terrible person if you interacted with the photos#but please just remember there is a person at the heart of all this#a very talented and attractive person yes... but a person all the same#i would truly hate to be famous it gives me so much anxiety just the thought of the constant scrutiny#good thing i never will be LOL#fandom wank#discourse

Can't Stay Away from You - Chapter One
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First chapter woot woot! This is by far, the longest chapter I've ever written, at over 7k words, and honestly, I hope this is good? It's my first time writing a/b/o, and I'm a little unsure of where this is going exactly, but I hope everyone will have fun on the rollercoaster that this fic is bound to be!
masterlist
word count: 7k
warnings: defintely some angst in here, but lighter angst?, reader is anxious at parts, but like for the most part, there's really not much to warn about I think? Please let me know if I'm wrong or if I need to add anything!

Y/n wasn’t expecting any emails, but when she heard the ding that let her know she had received one, she immediately looked. She never knew when she’d get another freelance job, so whenever an email came in, she developed the habit of checking it. This wasn’t a work email, no, but it was from one of the stores she had recently bought a couple of Stray Kids albums from. From the subject line, it was about the albums she had bought, and a fansign? She doesn’t remember signing up for one, but she also has been so busy, she probably forgot about it.
Opening up the email, she found that she had won a place at an in person fansign in Seoul, in two days. She was so shocked by this news that she held her breath, not thinking this was real for a moment. She read through the email fully, memorizing every word, she really had won, holy shit. She thanked the gods that she didn’t work a physical job, because it meant she could work from anywhere, and she started figuring out her trip to Seoul. There was no way she was missing out on a chance to meet Stray Kids.
She quickly found a plane ticket, even if it was insanely expensive, and she thanked herself for her savings, having to dip into that a bit for this trip. She then moved on to finding a place to stay, and found a nice hotel that wasn’t outrageously expensive, and immediately booked it. She’d be flying out in about seven hours, leaving her to scramble to pack and leave for the airport. Quickly packing her luggage, having a packing list made up from previous trips, she packed clothes for a week, deciding to explore a bit since she was going there.
Y/n’s travelled enough to have mastered the skill of packing efficiently, gathering everything she needed into 3 pieces of luggage. She double-checked her travel list, making sure she had packed enough for her trip. Before she shoved her laptop and cords into her bag, she sent out an email to her current clients stating that she had an emergency occur, and that her work may be delayed by a day. At this point, it was almost time for her to head to the airport. So, she finished packing the last of her things into her carry-on. Remembering to grab her coat before putting her shoes on, she grabbed her bags and left the apartment.
She took a taxi to the airport, and on the way there, texted her best friend Emily that she was heading out of the country and asking her to watch over her apartment while she was gone. Emily agreed right away, and told her not to worry about anything. She smiled down at her phone, her bestie was her ride or die, and she was so grateful to have her in her life.
When she arrived at the airport, she thanked the driver, pulling her luggage out of the trunk and heading straight to the check in counter. The process was smooth and she was quickly on her way to security, which while terribly busy, went by quickly and soon she was sitting at her gate, having grabbed a couple snacks for the plane and filled up her water bottle on the way over there. She had about an hour before boarding, so she pulled out her laptop, deciding to get some work done while she waited. She finished off the last edits to one project, sending that off to one of her clients, before starting on one of her other projects.
Halfway through her second project, the call for boarding went out over the P.A. system, and so she saved her work, slipping her laptop back into her bag before lining up with everyone else. She was lucky enough to get a last minute window seat on the plane, putting her carry-on in the overhead bin, before settling in her seat as she pushed her smaller bag under the seat in front of her. She looked out the window as the plane took off, the start of her journey to Seoul, and meeting Stray Kids, was starting now. Since it was a relatively long flight, she pulled out her laptop once she was able to do so, starting back on the project she worked on earlier. She spent the majority of the flight working on her current workload, which was about four projects at the moment.
They were all fairly simple projects, they just took time to perfect them, but it was a great way to pass the time. By the time she finished her last project, there was only a couple hours left of the flight, and so she rested and watched the clouds roll by. Y/n admired the view as they landed in Seoul, excited to explore the city.
Patiently waiting to disembark the plane, she waited until she was able to leave her row, grabbing her bag from the overhead bin and then bringing it down, pulling it behind her as she left the plane. She pulled it along, heading towards the luggage carousel, before she went through customs and immigration, quickly clearing them and heading out into Seoul. She took the metro to head towards her hotel, unpacking her headphones and listening to music to pass the time on the train. Once off the train, she pulled out her phone to find her hotel location, quickly finding her way to the hotel. Thankfully, it was late enough that she could check in right away and head to her room. She took the elevator up, finding her room midway down the hallway, and upon opening the door, found that she had a beautiful view of the city around her.
She dropped her luggage by the bed, and walked towards the window, admiring her view of the city. She may not be a heights kind of person, but this was still beautiful, and she would be looking out a lot during her week here. She hauled her suitcase up onto the bed, pulling out a fresh outfit, before heading to the bathroom to shower. Once she had, she changed into her fresh outfit, pleased to get the smell of the airplane and airports off of her. Since it was still light out for a while, she decided to get out into the city and explore the neighborhood around her. She packed her smaller bag with the necessities, grabbing her key card on the way out the door and quickly going back down to the lobby and out into the fresh air.
Y/n knew travelling alone as an omega always brought risks with it, but it was worth it to be here in Seoul, both for the fansign and just in general. It was sunny and warm in Seoul, a great contrast from back home, and she was living for it. She was always a warm weather kinda girl, and the warm air and sunshine here made her thrive. She decided on just walking the area around her, figuring tomorrow would be one of her bigger exploration days.
She saw a lot of stores that intrigued her, but thought better of shopping, she’d be exhausted much quicker if she gave into that urge. She was glad that she brought her headphones, it helped distract from the loud noises of the city, and brought the level down to a reasonable one she could deal with. The hustle and bustle of the city was normal to her, since her own city was similar,
Up until now, her omega had been strangely quiet. Usually she was very outspoken, more so than y/n herself was. Her omega was going haywire at the moment, confusing the poor girl as to what set the omega off. She felt almost pulled forward, and her omega pushed to the surface, making her walk faster to wherever that pull was coming from. It culminated in her running into someone, and ended with her on the ground in front of them, looking up at their mask-covered face.
“Are you alright? I’m sorry that I bumped into you.” The person said as they leaned down, reaching out a hand to her. She tentatively took it, and she stood up with their help. Standing so close to them, she could smell their citrusy sweet scent, it calling to and calming her omega. That confused her slightly, but she shook it off, not wanting to think about it now.
“I’m okay, and really, I bumped into you. I should be the one apologizing.” She replied.
“Let’s just say we bumped into each other then? We both played a part in this.” They told her, and she could see that they were smiling by the crinkles near their eyes.
“I can agree to that.” Y/n replied, giggling slightly.
She saw as the other person took a breath of her scent, and for some reason they stumbled back away from her, their eyes widening.
“I’ve got to go, I’m sorry.” They said, rushing away from her, leaving her standing there alone on the sidewalk.
She watched him run away, and her omega cried out, and y/n felt like she had been punched in the stomach. Her anxiety shot up, and tears came to her eyes. She’s so confused, she doesn’t completely understand what’s just happened, and why she was so affected by it.
She felt increasingly down as she walked back to her hotel, no longer feeling any urge to explore, just wanting to retreat back into her room and nest. She speed-walked into the hotel elevator, avoiding everyone. Once back in her room, she locked her door and got to work making a nest in the bed, using everything she could. She finished it and then climbed inside, curling up into herself as her omega cried out to someone, for an unknown reason. That, and she couldn’t take her mind off of the person who ran away from her, and everytime she thought of him, it made her chest hurt.
In the end, she fell asleep, and she dreamed of them again. She had dreams every so often about Stray Kids, and she assumed this was once again, her brain being delusional. She dreamed about going on vacation with them, assumedly in Australia given her surroundings, but she felt that this dream was different.
She noticed that this time, the member’s touch and reactions felt more real? It felt like these were actually the boys, and not figments of her imagination like they usually did. Their eyes seemed shocked, even as they all enjoyed the dream. They were more touchy with her, Felix especially. She noticed that he looked similar to the person she ran into earlier, but shook it off as her just being delusional again. She enjoyed her dream and found happiness with the boys, as it was just a dream, that’s all.
Waking up the next morning in her makeshift nest, she whined at the lack of someone beside her, having fallen asleep in her dream next to the boys. Her scent smelled like burnt honey and vanilla because of her sadness, but she pushed through, thinking of happy thoughts and how she’d get to see the boys later today. She got up, having to get out of her nest that smelt like sadness. Pulling out an outfit for the fanmeet, she quickly showered before changing, and then moved onto her makeup and hair. She did her makeup like she usually did, leaning more towards a very natural look, knowing if she wore too much, it would be harder to touch up later on.
Before leaving her room, she checked the rules for attending the fansign, and quickly memorized them. She headed back to the bathroom, since one of the rules was wearing scent blockers, and quickly applied them to her scent glands, making sure she covered them fully. The rule had been put into place because of an incident with a second gen girl group fansign years ago, she remembered the aftermath of it very well, despite being young at the time. One of the fans, an alpha, attended the fansign and tried to overwhelm one of the omega members of the group with her scent, and since then, companies have made it mandatory that scent blockers be worn during fansigns.
Checking her outfit in the mirror once again, she made sure it looked right, fixing anything that was out of place. She had decided on an outfit that reminded her of a mix of Felix and Han’s individual styles, but had blended them together in her outfit. Plus, it was really comfy, and knowing she had a long day in front of her, she didn’t want to be stuck in something uncomfortable. She grabbed her bag, setting out for the day. She planned to explore and see some tourist sights first, before the fansign, since it wasn’t starting for a couple hours from then.
She mostly wandered as she wanted, not having a specific destination in mind. She found herself wandering a market and buying some snacks along the way. Everything she bought tasted better than the prior snacks, and she had to leave the market in a hurry lest she get distracted. To her benefit, however, this passed enough time that she almost had to run to make it to the fansign venue.
She made it there in under 20 minutes, and hopped in line with everyone else, having brought her ID, and had the email that she won as well. Checking in was a simple process for the most part, however the ID checking part was the most tedious. Once that was finished and they confirmed that she was who she said she was and that she was allowed entry, she was quickly shuffled into the hall where the fansign took place.
Y/n found herself about midway between the front and back of the hall, and almost straight in the middle of her row. She greeted the girls next to her, making small talk with them as much as she was able to with her limited knowledge of Korean. They mostly talked about their favorite members and songs, and whose outfits they liked the most in this recent comeback. Y/n enjoyed chatting with the other girls, and a couple more of the ones around them joined in as well, and just before the boys walked out, they had created a small group chat, adding each other on kakaotalk.
The minute the boys walked out on the stage, all eyes were on them, and the cheers were almost deafening. Despite it only being a small fraction of the number of people at a concert, it was as loud as a concert. Yet it only took Bang Chan raising his hand for the crowd of fans to fall silent.
“Hello everyone!” He said, waving to the room. He and the boys quickly introduced themselves and did their “Step out” intro as they always do. They took the first part of the fanmeet to goof around on stage, playing around with some of the items laid out for them by staff.
During this, y/n couldn’t keep her eyes off of them, feeling almost a pulling sensation in her chest, and a need to keep an eye on the boys. She ignored the pulling feeling, trying to enjoy the fansign and commit this all to memory. She soaked in the atmosphere, the joy that radiated around the room, from the fans and the idols. It filled her with happiness, the feeling almost bursting out of her chest.
It wasn’t long before they boys had moved onto the signing part of the fansign. She watched as each row of fans lined up to meet the idol group, going down the line one by one, and the smiles on the boys’ faces made her smile too. It made her happy to see them happy, and she knew the girls around her felt the same way. Her hand was tapped as a girl in the row ahead of her asked her to record her interactions with the boys, and she readily agreed. Once that girl was up on stage, she zoomed in and recorded her interaction with the eight idols. In return, once it was her turn to line up with her album to meet the boys, the other girl offered to record her going down the line and talking with the boys, to which she quickly thanked her for offering and y/n handed her her phone. She lined up on the side of the stage, nervousness growing as there were only a few girls still in between her and Changbin, the first of the eight boys she’d meet today.
Soon, she sat in the chair in front of the rapper, smiling at him as she said hello, shaking slightly due to her nerves.
“Hi, it’s nice to meet you!” She told him, smile as bright as the sun.
“Ahh, nice to meet you too!” He said, taking her album as she handed it to him, opening to one of his pages. “Where are you from?” He asked, noticing her nerves and the slight shake to her body, determined to get her less nervous.
“I’m from Canada. I flew here and arrived yesterday afternoon.” Y/n told him.
“Oh wow! Really? That’s so far away!” He was surprised she flew that far for their fansign, he even applauded her for it, to which she shied away, hiding her face.
“No, no hiding!” He teased her, and she slowly pulled her hands away, looking at him with red cheeks.
“Is it cold back in Canada?” Changbin asked.
“It’s not too bad, I guess? But I prefer it here where it’s warm and sunny.” She told him, replying to his question.
“Ohhh, you like warm.” He said, English skills finally breaking down a bit.
“I love the warmth. I’m always too cold, see?” She said to him, showing her hands which were slightly pink at the tips.
He grabbed her hands gently, rubbing them to try and warm them up. He knew it was chilly in there, but not to where one of their fans was becoming very cold. He was so concerned for her, almost abnormally so, but he chalked it up to just caring for their stays.
“Oh no, you’re so cold! It’s too cold here.” He said after rubbing her hands for a couple moments.
“Oh no, it’s okay, Changbin-oppa. My fingers and toes are always like this, no matter how warm it is. Just my body being bad, that’s all.” She corrected him gently, wanting to ensure he knew it wasn’t the room, it was just her.
And sadly, that is where her time with the rapper ended, with her being moved onto the next man, who was the Hwang Hyunjin, who was waiting for her to move down in front of him, which made her blush intensify.
“Hello Hyunjin!” She said, voice a little on the higher side.
“Hello, Stay!” He said, smiling at her. “What’s your name?” He asked as he received her album, moving to sign one of his pages that she had marked.
“My name is y/n! And we’re born in the same year, Hyunjin-ssi.” She informed him, slightly swaying in order to calm herself.
“Oh? We are? That’s amazing! What month?” He further questioned her, a slight surprise showing on his face.
“I’m a September baby, so I’m younger than you by a couple months.” She said, watching him sign her album.
He looked back up at her, his beauty was ethereal, and it took her breath away to see him this close up. He reached out to grab her hands, both of them pulling away slightly and flinching at the zap of electricity. It couldn’t have been more than static electricity, but it felt almost like a connection of sorts. Both of them waved it off, not thinking much of it, but inside, their beta and omega knew what had just happened, and were berating them for ignoring it.
“Your name is really pretty, I forgot to tell you.” He said earnestly, his eyes feeling like they were staring right into her soul, and she could see so many emotions floating around in those captivating eyes. She couldn't keep eye contact with him and looked away, down at her lap to avoid his gaze.
“Thank you, Hyunjin-ssi.” She said, still unable to look him in the eyes.
“Stay doesn’t have to use -ssi, call me Hyunjin, please?” He begged her, leaning down on the table to try and get her attention, to which she looked up at him, giggling at his position.
“What are you doing?” She said between giggles.
“I just wanted-” He started, but was interrupted by staff ushering her to move onto the next member, to Hyunjin’s dismay. He wanted to talk with her all day.
Seungmin was next, and his gentle smile caused her to continue to smile in return, her smile not dimming, but becoming softer.
“Hello, it’s nice to meet you.” He said, much calmer than the others, but you could see that he was just as excited to meet their fans as the other boys were.
“Hello Seungmin, it’s nice to meet you too.” She said, telling him her name afterwards, so that he had a name to sign the album with.
They made small talk as he signed, and then continued on afterwards. Y/n told him how far she travelled to be here today, and then expanded on her home as Seungmin asked her more questions about where she was from. She tells him that no matter how long the journey was, she wouldn’t have missed being here, and missing the chance to talk to them, for anything else in the world.
To this, his face is filled with awe and wonder, always surprised at what lengths their fans go to in order to see them live or to meet them. She then talks about what she loves about him, and how she enjoys seeing his interactions with the other boys, and how his voice is angelic. She just about showers him in compliments, until her time with the vocalracha member is up.
He waves goodbye to her and hands her album onto Jeongin, who’s next in line. He smiled at her as she slid over into the chair in front of the maknae, who, having heard her name from when she told his fellow member, quickly signed her album, before reaching out to grab her hands, squeezing them. This shocked y/n slightly, not expecting how intense the maknae was right then and there. He however, just felt drawn to her, like a moth to a flame, and wanted to be in contact with her. His alpha encouraged his actions, and the man himself didn’t question his alpha, and just continued looking at her with a smile on his face.
“Hi, Stay!” He said excitedly, to which y/n replied back, asking how he was doing.
“I’m doing better now that I get to talk to you.” He answered her, winking at the end and slightly flirting, to which he got lightly smacked by Minho.
Y/n wasn't faring well with the intense nature of the supposed “baby bread” youngest member, and it clearly showed on her face, which was turning, in Jeongin’s eyes, a lovely shade of pink, and her eyes were wide as she stared at him.
“You look so cute, Stay.” He complimented her, to which she blushed harder. His grin grew as he watched her blush intensify, and to which his alpha almost purred in contentment.
He continued teasing her, to which her responses were almost nonsensical, until the staff member became her savior by telling Jeongin that she had to move to the next member. Minho, being impatient, grabbed her hands from his fellow member and pulled her over to the chair in front of his space at the table, grabbing her album afterwards. Jeongin pouted at his hyung’s actions, watching you move over to the next chair. He only stopped overtly watching her when the next Stay sat down in front of him, his attention turning to them.
“Hello Lino!” Y/n said, a smile still stuck on her face.
“Hello Stay.” He said, shaking their hands as he had yet to let go. “Do you have any pets?” He asked, finally but almost reluctantly pulling his hands away so he could sign her album.
“I do! I have a bunny, named Jack.” She told him, telling him how she got him, and about all of her bunny’s little quirks.
He stopped signing her album just to look up at her and watch her talk. He was oddly drawn to her, and observed her as she talked. Her smile was extraordinary and how he wanted to never see her smile fade away, he felt pulled in by her, and he knew it wasn’t her scent, it couldn’t have been since he could see the scent blockers on her skin. But she almost called out to him, to his alpha. He internally questioned if there was something more to that feeling or if it was only just because she was similar to his omegas, to Jisung and Felix. Her outfit clearly took inspiration from them, and she seemed similar in personality, so maybe that was the culprit behind this pull he was feeling.
He realized that he hadn’t finished signing her album, and hurried to do so as he lightly chatted with her, mostly about their own pets and how troublesome they were at times. Sadly, that came to an end when she was pointed to move onto the next idol, who happened to be Felix.
The Australian man looked at her, having the silent realization that this was the girl he ran into the day prior, and did his best to push what happened out of his mind, since he hadn’t told anyone what had happened, and from the lack of reaction on her part, she didn’t know that they had met yesterday.
“Hello Felix!” She said, smiling from ear to ear at meeting her almost birthday twin.
“Hello! How are you? Also, your outfit is so cute! I love it!” He replied, a grin on his face.
“I’m well, and I’m very excited to be here!” She told him, her cheeks hurting as she had smiled since meeting Changbin. “Thank you! I tried to combine your and Han’s styles, and I hope I was able to do both your styles justice.” She explained.
“You did! So, how old are you?” He questioned, taking the time to sign her album.
“I’m your age, actually.” She confessed, as he looked up in slight shock.
“Wow, really?” He said.
“Yup! Actually you and I aren’t too far apart in age, birthday wise. I share a birthday with one of your members.” She replied.
“Wait, that means-” He started, before she interrupted him.
“Yeah, I do have a birthday twin within your group.” She giggled and nodded as she confirmed his thoughts.
“Oh wow! That’s so cool!” He told her.
“Yeah, it’s what made me a Stay actually. Well, and your Miroh era.” She confessed to him, blushing slightly.
They continued chatting, with Felix inquiring more about her life, and how long she’s been into K-pop among other things. Felix’s omega was practically purring at having this pretty girl’s attention only on him, plus that they got to see her again after Felix stupidly ran away yesterday.
Meanwhile, next to Felix, Minho was trying to concentrate on the Stay in front of him, but his mind and eyes kept wandering over to y/n and Felix. He couldn’t help but listen in on their conversation as he tried to keep chatting with the fan in front of him. That pull in his chest still hadn’t disappeared, and he kept questioning what exactly was drawing him to you. His alpha, however, knew exactly what was happening and was very happy about it, Minho could tell that much. His alpha kept talking about how Felix and the girl got along so well, and look how pretty they both were, and ‘Wouldn’t they look pretty together in their nest?’ Minho had to physically force himself to look away from the two of them, and push to only focus on the Stay in front of him.
During this, the two people who were the subject of Minho’s thoughts and glances were saddened when staff told them it was time for y/n to move on. Felix grabbed her hand, pleading with her not to go, to the girl’s laughter and her insistence that she must move on, to Han finally interjecting and reaching out for her hand and pulling her to the next chair.
“I heard you had a birthday twin in Stray Kids?” He inquired immediately, wanting to know.
“Hello Han. Yes I do.” She giggled at his impatience. “I’m birthday twins with you, actually. Down to the year.” She told him.
Hell yeah!” He exclaimed as Felix overheard, the Aussie pouting at how close he was to sharing a birthday.
Y/n saw Felix’s pout, and giggled as she looked over at him. He saw her giggling and playfully glared at her, only making her giggle more, which Han did as well when he saw what was making the girl in front of him giggle.
Han quickly signed his page in the album, before focusing all his attention on the girl in front of him. He wanted to know more about his birthday twin, and to learn if they had anything else in common. They did have quite a few things in common, their style being one of those things, anxiety was a second, and they also had quite similar personalities. This made the quokka a very happy man, and his omega wanted to steal the Stay away and keep them and Han was agreeable with that notion. A birthday twin to share the fun with? Yes please.
They joked about how maybe this was fate, and maybe this was why she was drawn to the group in the first place, with y/n admitting that their shared birthday is what made her interested in the first place. Han smiled, with a blush on his face at that confession. That she had found the group and gotten interested because of Felix, but was more interested that they both shared a birthday. Plus, she won the chance to be here and meet them, which was even more amazing.
As engrossed as they both were in their conversation, Chan finally leaned over and interrupted them, to inform her that it was their turn to chat. Han grabbed her hand, shaking them as he thanked her for coming and talking with him, and that she’d have to remember to wish him a happy birthday when their birthday came, to which she promised she would. She reluctantly let go of his hands, and moved over to sit in front of Chan, realizing that her time with the boys would end shortly.
“Hello there, sorry to interrupt your fun with Hannie.” He apologized, looking truly sorry to have stopped their conversation. He truly was sad that he had to do so, they loved their fans, and Jisung looked so happy as he chatted with her, and his alpha almost screamed his content at how happy this girl had made his members.
“It’s okay, I understand, don’t worry Chan.” She told him, understanding clearly heard in her voice.
He smiled at how understanding she was, starting up a conversation with her about what she was going to do while in Seoul. Inside, his alpha was trying to gain control over him, an overwhelming need coming over him to grab her and scent her, rules be damned. He wasn’t alone in this feeling, as y/n had been feeling a pull this entire time as she went down the line, but it was stronger right in front of the leader of the group, and her omega wanted nothing more than to sink into this man’s arms right here and now. She shook off her omega while he pushed away those feelings, one thinking it was just her being delusional and having read too much fanfic, while the other just chalked it up to his alpha reacting to the fact that it was a pretty girl in front of him right now.
They continued their chat like neither of them were experiencing anything, and she asked him about places to visit in Australia should she ever get to visit, and he turned it on her and asked about places to visit in Canada when they get the chance to travel there. Both parties enjoyed the conversation, almost feeling as if they were just two friends chatting, instead of idol and fan. They talked about animals as well, both of them gushing about their own animals and telling a couple of funny stories about them.
At last, y/n’s time with the boys was finally over, and it was at this point Chan realized he had never signed her album. Signaling to the staff to let him sign the album quickly before she had to leave, he did so. On a whim, and what he swears was his alpha’s idea, and not fully his, under his signature, he added his number. Quickly closing the book, he handed it to her, and waved to her as she left the stage and returned to her seat, focusing on the next fan to sit in front of him.
Y/n returned to her seat, feeling saddened after leaving the stage and the boys. She shrugged it off, just like she had with the rest of the odd feelings she’s had today and yesterday. After she got back to her seat, one of the girls in the row behind her that she had made friends with, asked her to film her meetings with the boys, and she agreed. After that, the girl in the row in front of her that filmed her interactions handed her phone back, and y/n thanked her for filming as the other girl waved off her thank yous.
Soon enough, it was the girl behind her turn to chat with the boys, and y/n started filming as she went up on stage. She noticed during her filming, that the boys glanced up in her direction a couple times, or at least her general direction, she doubted their gaze was on her specifically. She dutifully continued filming, trying to get the best video she could for the girl.
Y/n was wrong about the boys not looking right in the crowd for her. They really couldn’t help themselves, looking at her when she didn’t notice, and every time they had the chance. They had never felt so pulled towards someone like this, not since they all found each other. Y/n was feeling the same way, it almost felt like there was a rope between her and the boys, and it was trying to pull her in closer. She once again brushed it off as wishful thinking, and maybe her delusions of wanting the boys to notice her, as every Stay did. Plus, she probably just enjoyed talking to them so much that she wanted to talk with them again.
Finally, the girl she was filming for left the stage, and y/n ended the recording, handing the phone back to her once the other girl returned to her seat. She watched as the final rows got their chance to see and talk with the boys, and once everyone was back in their seats, the boys came out from behind the tables, and started goofing off again. There was a portion set aside for photos of the boys, and of course they were absolutely adorable during it. And then they decided a couple dance relays of S-Class were in order, and a part switch dance to S-Class as well, which went as well as anyone could expect. A.k.a, it was a bit of a disaster, with the boys not knowing each other's places nearly as well as they knew their own. Though, we did get to see Felix do Minho’s parts, which was amazing and everyone in the room loved it.
Before anyone knew it, the fansign was coming to an end, with the boys sadly saying goodbye to the fans. Y/n didn’t want it to end, but as they were ushered back out of the room after the boys had left the stage, she reluctantly left. She was in tears leaving the building, and felt a great sadness at leaving, and so did her omega. She wasn’t quite sure why she reacted so heavily, but as she walked back to the hotel, her emotions only grew. Because of this, she sped up her pace, wanting to disappear into her hotel room and cry in private, not wanting others to see her like this.
Once she was back in her hotel room, she locked the door, immediately taking off her shoes and any accessories, before crawling into her makeshift nest that still smelt of sadness from that morning. She let herself fall apart, crying as she curled into a ball. She wasn’t sure why she was so sad, she really wasn’t sure, but she could feel that her omega was really hurting. She cried herself to sleep, falling into a nightmare, where it was the opposite of her dream from the night before. The boys were the opposite of their sweet selves, and were hurling anything and everything negative about herself at her, and all she could do was sit there and cry as they did so.
Being shocked out of her nightmare, she sat up as she woke up, her chest heaving as she tried to regulate her breathing. She managed to do so after a couple of minutes, and trying to get her mind off of how hurtful her nightmare was, she reached for her phone.
She found the video of her interactions with the boys, and started watching it. As she watched it, she realized just how different her interactions with the boys were from the ones she had filmed for others and watched herself. They seemed much more intimate in a way, with how touchy a lot of the boys were with her. They were so much more emotive and interactive with her, it felt a little abnormal after the fact. She must have been so happy to meet them that none of it felt off to her, and really looking back, it still didn’t feel too odd, just a bit more intimate than the other fans’ interactions. She wondered why she was so different, and why her, over everyone else.
This pushed her to look through her album, and she stopped at Chan’s signature. Underneath his name, there was a number, along with a short message to text him. This had to be a joke, there was no way she was living the y/n life right now. She felt as if she had stepped into a fanfiction, because why else would Bang fucking Chan have given her, out of all people, his number?
She decided to fuck it and texted the number he gave her, and he almost immediately responds.
‘Who are you?’ He demanded.
‘I’m y/n, you gave me this number in my album that you signed today.’ She replied.
‘What did we talk about today then?’ He asked her.
‘A little bit of everything, honestly, but we did talk about our pets. You talked about Berry, and I talked about my bunny Jack and how troublesome he is.’ Y/n told him.
She also decided to send him a picture of herself, holding open his page of the album as she sat next to a clock to prove the time. Chan believed her, and told her as such. She then asks him why he decided to give her his number.
‘I watched your actions with the others and myself, and something about you and all of our interactions intrigued me. I felt there was something more to it all, and wanted to get to know you better.’ He explained, to which she was relieved it wasn’t a trick, but was also confused about how she intrigued him. She voiced those thoughts and to which he reassured her that he wasn’t tricking her, nor should she be confused about how she was interesting to him, because he honestly found her interesting from the start of their conversation at the fanmeet.
He further explained that the other members had no idea about what he had done, and he hadn’t planned on saying anything to them, unless y/n had reached out and told him it was okay to do so. Though that didn’t stop them from discussing her in the vans on the way back to the dorm, nor did it stop their discussion from spilling over into their group chat. He told her as much, and she was surprised to have made that much of an impression on them. Chan reassured her that their interactions with her were very memorable, from what he could gleam from the others’ conversations. What he didn’t tell her was that Minho had noticed Chan’s behavior, and signaled to the pack alpha that they would be talking after they arrived back at the dorm.
Soon enough the boys arrived back at the dorm, and the leader had to say goodbye for now to y/n, Minho staring him down as they walked into the building and then the elevator. The other alpha grabbed his hand as soon as the elevator doors opened, and led him through the front door of the apartment, and straight to the Aussie man’s room.
“Who are you texting? And why am I sure it’s that girl from the fansign?” Minho interrogated him, not leaving him a second to talk.
“You’re not wrong. I gave her my number.” Chan confessed.

“how embarrassing would it be if i told you i’d dreamt of this since i first met you?” prompt with Echo? 🥰
i think this actually may be the softest thing i've ever written, i hope you enjoy it :)
words: 709
@clonexreaderbingo square: "you're lucky you're cute"
clone troopers masterlist
A steady beat echoed from the speakers in Cid’s cantina, the latest hit to those in the galaxy who didn’t have to worry about the horrors of the Empire. You were humming along as you wiped down the tables and stools, glad that Cid had not yet opened for the day, so you could pretend that things were different for a little while.
Life wasn’t terrible now, but you definitely missed the view of your Coruscant apartment and the feeling of living without the haunting terror that someone was looking over your shoulder. You could have stayed with the Empire and continued your work as a mechanic without issue, but you would have never forgiven yourself for taking the easy road, so here you were.
You sang along to the music as it became more repetitive, and it became easy to understand why this artist was so beloved among the general population. It certainly helped that their music was catchy, and it made the monotonous chore of cleaning a little bit more bearable.
The sound of someone stepping into the parlor interrupted a slightly off-key high note (from you, not the singer), and you eyes widened as you looked towards the door to see Echo, a warm smile on his face as he clapped for your singing. “Maker, this is embarrassing,” you said, quickly bringing the unopened bottle of liquor you were using as a makeshift microphone back down to the smooth surface of the bar.
“Don’t worry, I won’t say anything to Cid,” he said, stepping closer to you.
You let out a sigh of relief. “Thank-”
“As long as you dance with me for the next song.”
So there was a bit of an ulterior motive here, got it. Well, if you were being honest, this was the nicest way you’ve ever been blackmailed, and it certainly helped that you had developed quite the little crush on Echo, even if he was a little bit of a smartass at times.
You paused, pretending to think about it before putting your hands on your hips. “You’re lucky you’re cute, you know that?”
One of his hands grasped yours, and the other found its way to rest on your waist. As if this had been planned all along, a quiet and slow song was just starting to come through the speakers, by the same artist that you were singing along to before. “You think I’m cute?”
Part of you wanted to play your previous comment off as a joke, but the hopeful look in his eyes caused you to finally take a chance on something that you would have never done before. “I do,” you said softly, and you watched with joy as his face lit up even more as the two of swayed to the beat.
“Can I tell you something?”
That was a dangerous question, because you had just put your heart on the line. Whatever he said next would determine how quickly this dancing would cease, and you didn’t want this moment to end. “Is it bad?”
“No, it’s just- I-” he said, stumbling over his words a little. “How embarrassing would it be if I told you I’d dreamt of this since I first met you?”
This had to be a dream, because there was no way he had just said that to you. All those nights where you had laid in bed and thought about kissing him were now in reach, and it didn’t feel real.
“It’s not embarrassing at all,” you said.
“Really?”
“Really. Because it means I can do this.” And before you could stop yourself, you leaned in and placed the softest of kisses on his cheek. You could hear the way his breath hitched slightly echo in your brain, and you hadn’t heard the music for some time now, because the only people in the galaxy right now were you and him.
“Wait,” he said, just as you began to pull away.
“What?”
“I think you missed.” A soft breath of laughter escaped your lips before you placed them on his, and it was everything you had ever dreamed of.
Or at least, it was until Crosshair walked into the parlor and joyfully yelled that Hunter owed him ten credits.

Oh you HAVE to tell me about this green blorbo 👀
SLEP OMG... YES, I WILL TELL YOU ALLLLLLLLLL ABOUT MY GLOWING GREEN SLIMEBALL LOSER OFC I WILL, THANK YOU BEASTIE 🥹🫂💖
I just finished playing through chapter 2 of C.rypti.d C.rus.h last night (it's the last chappie rn since the game's still in development), so that means I have M.adhous.e M.ik.e on the brain in the worst way 💖
Tumblr media
Awwwww look, he's so happy to be remembered/asked about ☺️💖
A few key spoilers for M.adhous.e M.ik.e's story (Chapter 0) are below the cut, fair warning!!
So Mike used to be just a regular human working at the E.lkhor.n County Radio Station. He was an extremely popular radio host there with a group of fans, a producer, and a show that people loved to listen to. I guess you could say he was a bit of a celebrity at the time... right up until he had to promote this sketchy radio ad. Part of it involved drinking a huge case of mysterious energy drinks that turned out to be radioactive (but I mean... that was kinda obvious with a name like Toxic Waste Energy... 😅). Then he turned completely green and died, just like that! Not the most glorious ending in the world, but wait, it gets eeeeven worse...
His job at the station was all that he had, thanks to the shitty people in management who never gave him a chance to experience anything outside of that announcer's booth. No time off, countless graveyard shifts, underpaid, overworked. And even when Mike was dead, he still couldn't be free. He became a phantom that was hopelessly tied to the station, unable to leave or to get someone to help him. He was desperate to get out of that place, to make something of himself! But nothing he tried worked.
After enduring seven years of isolation, he was damn near losing his mind and had lost practically all of his memories, too.
That's when the mc sneaks into his station with their friends and discovers him!! I'm not gonna go into much more detail here because there are chapters of delicious details to read for yourself, and I've already mentioned quite a few important notes here, whoops... hehe. But yeah... the cringefail loser vibes are strong in this one 💖
Plus instead of mc I got Klythe slipping in to do its own thing with Mike hehe ☺💖 (I will elaborate on them soon too because I'm in love with its design already!!)
Anyway, Mike is pretty guarded and aloof, using humor to deflect his insecurities. He rarely gets serious with others in public, and doesn't like showing his softer side to anyone. This guy especially hates apologizing for anything, even if he was in the wrong! He has a reputation to uphold as the E.lkhor.n S.tatio.n Poltergeist, after all!
Despite this comedic asshole facade that he often puts on, he's actually an incredibly lonely guy. His social skills are poor, and he gets into trouble once in a while due to misunderstandings. But he's only had himself, his crudely fashioned water bottle producer "Debbie" and wild opossums to talk to for several years, so it makes sense tbh. He has impulse issues and struggles with social cues quite a bit. Oh, and he loves to be a mischievous little shit, trolling others wherever he wants because c'mon it's funny!! He's driven some cryptids to their wit's end before, and does not care in the slightest. Also the most likely to commit a felony - or felonies, let's be real - and he's actually pretty knowledgeable about subjects that interest him!
The poor guy has been hurt a lot. By that radio job he's been trapped in forever, by ghost hunters invading his space, and by fake fans who just want to get close to him for a bit of the fame. It takes him a long time to trust someone because of how he's been treated. People tend to act like he's a freak or a monster rather than a guy who had a life and tragically lost it at a young age. As if that isn't enough, he struggles with self worth issues all the time. He constantly thinks that nobody cares about the real him, and wonders why anyone would want to even be around him... 💔
My heart truly breaks for this guy man... 😭
So basically, he's got a tough outer shell that's hard to crack; and yet underneath it he's so soft, and genuine, and sweet, and funny... and HE CARES SO MUCH. Mike cares about everyone in his friend group, he doesn't really want to hurt them! He's just a downtrodden ghost suffering under the trauma of his past. Once he gets out of that station and learns a bit more about things, he starts to heal, to improve and get better as a person. Honestly, I just want to be there for him, too. I want to help him in any way I can 🥰💖💖💖💖💖💖
I wanna turn this Mike...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Into this Mike!
Tumblr media
Happier, more secure and knowing that he's loved, no matter what 😌💖

Playing Devil's Advocate when I say that I don't think SR!San is more "irredeemable" than SR!Mingi. From the beginning of this series, if I'm not wrong, you emphasized the importance of how human beings are flawed and we don't always do the right thing while other times we do. Even SR!Yeosang said SR!San wasn't a bad person, per se. Just someone he didn't want to be around just to say that he was the one who stuck with him through everything. Personally, what SR!Mingi did to Y/N was hurtful...and what was more hurtful was him not ever trying to address the elephant in the room after reuniting with Y/N. Y/N shared her more real and personal side of herself, showed vulnerability with him and when she confessed to him, even went out of her way to invite him to an event he would've loved to go to, he panicked and threw it in her face.
Then adding on top of that, Y/N comparing herself to SR!Yeosang and the situation with SR!Wooyoung really showed how still affected she was by what happened with SR!Mingi two years ago. Sure, she can try to bury her feelings for now but what happens when everything just starts filling up inside her until it just bursts when she can't bottle it up anymore? SR!San isn't innocent, not at all. But we know why he's acted the way he's acted. We know his upbringing. And it's not a 100% excuse to push everyone around him away the way he does but it is a factor. He's very much a less well-off counterpart to Y/N and I'm sure with your writing, if you'd put this entire story in his POV, more people would sympathize with him like we do with Y/N.
If not for Y/N's POV, we would've just thought she was a mean bitch without any reasoning as to why she acts the way she acts. We would've thought she was just out to get Boyoung and steal any person she loved and/or cared about. And that's the beauty of this series. I would love to read the final chapter and see how things are resolved, whether the main character ends up with anyone or not.
Have a good day!
hmmmmmmmmmm well i think readers so far consider him irredeemable in terms of ending up with y/n like the focus is more on that rather than him being irredeemable as a person😭
i don't think he's more irredeemable either, i've written him as a complicated character, showed a little bit of his perspective through the bonus parts but the focus is always more on who she should end up with and that it definitely shouldn't be san (which isn't wrong, she deserves better than him no matter what kind of person she was/is)
in the usual trope where boyoung would be our mc, san would definitely be liked as a character because we don't get to see how he treats our sr!mc and we would only see him from boyoung's pov where he's a closed off individual and well idk how they're written in those stories it's been awhile since i've read something like that but he'd basically be the player who has a soft spot for her and goes out of his way to pursue her and even tries to be vulnerable with her or something 😭 he is NOT a bad guy, he's just a person with his bad and good traits
i've said this so many times before but i wrote this story because i wanted to write about the typical mean girl but actually give her some dimension and show san through her eyes. it was never about him falling in love with her instead of boyoung or whether or not they end up together in the end but about their relationship and how it affects a character like her, that's why i brought him back and why i didn't want to wrap up their storyline because the story is literally about THEM and her development through it all. mingi, wooyoung, her parents, brother etc...those are all important plots here but they're side plots.
i think the san bonus parts and e-mails i've posted should be enough to know that there's more to him than he lets on but i can't really do anything for the readers who only see him as y/n's love interest and mingi's "rival" and refuse to look a little deeper into his character 😭😭 (not saying there's something wrong with that, if ppl want to see san as just an asshole then thats fine by me as well but it's just scratching the surface of the whole story)

Would love to see some of the lovely things you daydream about 📓!!
Oh God, I have a chaos brain if ever there was one. My daydreams are all over the place 😂 However, I shall oblige and share something I've been thinking of during the last few weeks in particular.
TW for depression, in case anyone reading this isn't up for engaging with that! Nothing graphic or too heavy, though. It relates to discussion of a hurt/comfort fic.
I've always found it interesting to consider the notion that Q struggles with depressive episodes, and how that might play into his career as Quartermaster. I've played around with it in a few of my shorter fics, as well as in 'i get down (when she gets you high),' but I'd like to write more about it.
Lately, I've been finding a lot of personal solace in the idea of a hurt/comfort fic that explores him getting to the point of a breakdown/burnout and having to take a break from work. Someone like Q must see work as, like, THE coping strategy for getting through life when depression is working against him. I'd like to explore that a bit.
Anyway, my general plot for it (if it can even be called that) involves:
Q nearly fucking up at work because he's lost a bit of focus. He feels absolutely awful about it, and I think this triggers something in him.
Mallory orders him to take time off. I think he probably does this in the same way he assures Bond there's "no shame in missing as step," only in waiting until it's too late. Perhaps he reminds Q here that a mistake from him could cost lives.
Q goes home, but locked out of any work systems for the next [x] number of weeks, he falls into a spiral. Can't get out of bed, doesn't see the point in it. He considers doing some non-espionage related hacking to work through it all, but the moment he puts his fingers to the keys, he just feels tired.
And then, enter James, who is back from a mission and baffled about the disappearance of his Quartermaster. Neither Mallory nor Moneypenny will tell him where Q is for confidentiality reasons, just that he's taking time off. So he breaks into Q's flat to find it a mess, with Q in bed, unshowered and unshaved, in an absolute state.
Lots of comfort etc etc.
But also a lot of talking. James can relate to falling into a depressive spiral (see Turkey - in fact, I really want to do a deep dive into that in this fic). So he helps Q through things, staying with him, getting him out of the house, and helping him to develop a renewed sense of life and purpose. Because James may be terrible when it comes to dealing with his own problems, but he does know how to help others. In fact, he finds real contentment in it. Also, maybe he learns a few things about himself in the process of helping Q.
Maybe they take a trip somewhere, James driving Q to the countryside for a day ("Ah, ah. No screens, Q. Hear that? Not a single electronic beep to be heard.)
I'd like to think he stays sober for the duration of staying at Q's, because he doesn't want his Quartermaster finding a bottle and spiralling even further.
The urge for me is to always have them fall in love (or to already be in love), but I'm considering not making the romantic side of things the focus of this fic. Who knows, though. It might be too much to resist.
And that's it! Possibly the most self-indulgent thing I'll ever write (if I ever write it at all)
Of course, it's extremely fitting to be taking about this in response to an ask from the QUEEN of H/C. I'm not joking. When I'm in a bad place, Where You Are, Sigh No More (!!!) and Lay It Down are my go-to comfort reads. I can only hope I manage a modicum of the comfort you bring people in this as-yet-unwritten thing.
Thanks for the ask! 💖

nrmt = jekyon?? tell me more share your theories friend
(All J&H characters mentioned below are from the The Glass Scientists webcomic; other adaptations do not count for this analysis)
Oh nice, free infodump real estate!
I'll start off saying that this is entirely subjective and not everyone might agree with the connection I made between the two ships.
Furthermore, at their core they're both very much their own unique dynamic. If this seems like a stretch to you, that's totally fine!
That being said, here are my theories/takes/connections (screenshots will mostly be from TGS since that's more easily accessible):
My brain sort of made the connection after recent chapters came out. The focus on Lanyon's feelings and how he expresses (or not expresses) them reminded me very strongly of the "thanks to you, I am saddled with unnecessary feelings line." It also reminded me of this bit from chapter 3:
Tumblr media
(ugh feelings, am i right)
Lanyon has Edgeworth Vibes to me lol. They have their "repressed victorian man" thing going on (although Lanyon literally is one).
I made a post about Lanyon's way of expressing his feelings before if you're interested.
Comparing Jekyll to Phoenix might be a bit of a stretch, perhaps. But with earlier flashbacks about Jekyll's university years and the much, much earlier scene during the Frankenstein Play, I can safely say the following things:
Both started out more expressive/open about their feelings. Only after having their hearts broken (Phoenix with Dahlia and Jekyll with Lanyon), did they take a turn and bottle their feelings up or stopped expressing them in a healthy manner.
Both have...little sense of self-preservation. Phoenix has shown over and over again that he's willing to hurt himself or even die for the things important to him. Jekyll also literally admitted to being willing to die for science. Although Jekyll has gotten a little better with it. One of the major developments he's going through right now is putting himself and his feelings and safety first.
Here is the evidence for Jekyll's case:
Tumblr media
And Phoenix is infamous for eating a glass vial with possibly still potent poison and running across a burning bridge. And he's been more than willing to get hurt to help the people involved in his cases. It's something about sacrificing yourself because you think something or someone else is more important.
Although Jekyll has been recovering from this mindset ever since Hyde forcefully took over his body:
Tumblr media
Another thing I've noticed with both ships is that there is a strong mutual admiration for the other, but neither actually voices it. It's a little more obvious for Narumitsu, where Phoenix admits in Turnabout Goodbyes how much he looks up to Edgeworth after the class trial. And in the Miles Edgeworth: Investigations games, he expresses the same admiration for Phoenix. They both are influenced by the other all the time and it makes them better, more well-rounded people.
This mutual admiration isn't as healthy in Jekyon, at least not consistently. In Jekyll's manifestation of his mind, he sees Lanyon as the perfect gentleman, as someone to look up to and follow no matter what. Even though he broke Jekyll's heart many years prior. But still, Jekyll believes he became a better person for it. Vice versa, Lanyon used to be kind of a heartbreaker. But meeting and dating Jekyll changed him. He wanted to commit to a relationship* and not Hurt Feelings anymore if he could help it. Unfortunately there was an arranged marriage so there's that.
*I am not saying that suddenly wanting a romantic and sexual relationship made him better, it's the not wanting to break other men's hearts that made him better.
I think...that's it? If I had to put it shortly, I'd say both ships have a unique dysfunctional way of communicating. Avoiding sharing any thoughts or feelings and then being surprised that the other party is upset. They're disasters and I love to watch it unfold :) (mainly because there's also actual character development to look forward to).

Savage Sunset Chapter 4S
In this chapter:  Valen turns out to be one of those dogs who only like women and growls at men
Story masterpost
Here is the corresponding chapter in the complementary story.
Content/content warnings for this chapter: Nonconsensual bondage/restraint/being trapped, gag/muzzle, broken bones/broken nose
Note for this chapter:  I want to be sensitive with regard to the way mentally ill villains are often portrayed in horror (with a villain being scary because of their mental illness.) The character in this story in question does not have a real life mental illness or any equivalent, so I believe this does not contribute to the stigmatization of real people and real disorders. This character also has other motivations that neurotypical people could also have. I just want to encourage my readers to be cognizant of this as an ongoing issue in the horror genre, and use some critical thinking. And of course if you think I've done something wrong in my portrayal, I'd love to hear some advice on how to do better in the future. Thanks for reading! Onto the story! :)
***
“Fuck!!”
The exclamation came accompanied by an unsettling crunching as the medic set Lex’s broken nose back into place.  She let out a groan, scrabbling for the offered painkillers as Gabriel snapped his gloves off and went to wash his hands.  “That should do ya.”
“Uhh–that’s it?” said Lex.
“Yep.  You’re lucky that vamp didn’t kill ya.  Most of ‘em are strong enough to just crush your nose right up into your brain.”
He’s also lucky he didn’t kill me, Lex thought.  Because if he had, Ari wouldn’t have been as nice as she was to him.  She still held the bloody tissue to her nose.  “I’ll be sure to thank him, then,” she said wryly.
Gabriel slipped a full bottle of Tylenol out of the drawer.  “No hunting for a few weeks, okay?”
“Won’t be able to till Ari’s leg is fixed, anyway.”
“Sure.  Just take it easy.  Take painkillers when you feel like you need them, but not more than 8 every 24 hours.  Oh, and try to make yourself look a little less tasty, if what I heard about our newest guest is to be believed.”
Gabriel had already heard that they’d brought a vampire home.  Of course he would have, everyone would be abuzz about it.  No one had managed it before.  They were very hard to handle live because of their ability of persuasion.
“Well, if what you say is true, apparently he has such delicate, gentle kicks that I don’t need to worry,” said Lex, tossing the bloodied tissue into the bin.  “Thanks for the Tylenol.  And the excuse to sit on my ass for a few weeks.”  It would probably be a little difficult to squeak by on their savings for a while, since they would have to go without winning any bounties for a while until they could hunt again, but they could probably manage….Especially since the prize for bringing home a live catch had been pretty generous.  And it would be nice to have some time to just focus on recovering.
“Sure,” said Gabriel.  “Oh, and…if I were you, I would steer clear of the director for a bit.  He’s not gonna be happy about this.”
***
Lex saw the other hunters gathered around the coffin when she came back out.  They parted slightly to let her through, and she couldn’t help feeling a little upset when she saw the vampire had blood on his face.
This was what she was afraid of.  There was no reason to hurt him when he was already all trussed up.  Some hunters could be vindictive as hell, though.  It was needless cruelty.  Still…She didn’t want to be the one sticking her neck out to tell off her colleagues for their treatment of a vampire, of all things.  She shook her head.  “Where’s Nick?”
“He’s on the phone with the director,” said Jerome.
“Oh boy,” said Ari.  “I bet he’s just thrilled with this new development.”
“I thought he gave Nick the OK to do this?” said Bailey, puzzled.  “He authorized Nick to put a bounty on bringing a live vampire back.”
The other hunters laughed.
“Yeah,” said Jerome wryly.  “To get him to shut up.  He didn’t think anyone would actually do it.”
“The director was bluffing,” said Ari.  “Because vampires are so damn hard to catch live because of persuasion, he thought none of us could do it.  He doesn’t actually want a vampire in the building.”
Lex came over and put a foot up on the coffin, like she was posing with a hunting trophy.  “Hah!  That’ll show him.  And he’s contractually obligated to pay out the bounty.”
One of the other hunters experimentally copied Lex, putting a hand on the coffin, and the vampire inside went ballistic, slamming his skull up and narrowly missing crushing a finger on the offending hand.
The hunter jerked his hand away, grimacing.  “Yeesh…Well, Nick can have him.”
“Speaking of,” said Ari, and Nick appeared in the doorway.
His eyes sparkled.  “You did it.  Thank you!  Thank you!”
He sounded like a kid at Christmas.  Lex had always been a little bit creeped out by Nick.  In fact, most of the hunters weren’t thrilled with Nick on a day-to-day-basis.
Nick seemed…like he wasn’t quite all there.  They all knew why of course–Nick had been imprisoned in the vampire’s blood farms for an alarmingly long time before he’d gotten away.  And anyone who spent too long in the blood farms eventually turned into a mindless husk as their brain melted from being under the thrall of vampire persuasion for so long.
Nick had apparently been…part of the way there when he’d gotten out.  Part of his behavior was because of trauma, but part of it was because his brain had been supernaturally tampered with…
…and some of it was also just the sheer bitterness and hatred stemming from what he’d gone through.  Looking at him now, at how excited he was to be presented with a vampire gift-wrapped, Lex felt unease crawling up her spine.
“Come on, Ari,” said Lex, tugging at Ari’s hand.  “You have to get your leg seen to.”
“Wait, ladies, I have to give you the bounty for your hard work!”  He clapped his hands together.  “And, everyone, after some…heated discussion…with the director, he has simply given me the guidelines that, for safety, we can only open the coffin when at least two people are present.  So who wants to be the lucky volunteer and help me take this specimen downstairs?”
“I will,” Lex volunteered instantly, and then felt embarrassed about the speed at which she’d done so.
“I see how it is,” said Ari.  “Rather spend time playing with Nick in the basement than helping your poor, hurt girlfriend to the nurse.”
Lex blushed.  “We can–We can do that together and then go help Nick right afterwards.”
Nick looked around.  “Well, I don’t hear any other volunteers, so…”  He beamed.  “I’ll wait right here for you to get back!”

Super Loose Dragon age Origin OC breakdown sheet
My computer's been dead (and still kind of is) for a month after... the milk incident, so I've only had the opportunity to play through Partha, and I do want to re-run her since she was my first playthrough. All of these come with a grain of salt and a lot of opportunity to be changed Warden Partha Aeducan: True to the Dwarf Noble Origin, kings Alistair, Romances Morrigain (bi rights), and does the dark ritual. The Leader. The World's most cringefail trans girl boss princess <3. She's an incredibly strong and fierce warrior, a real shit brickhouse as far as dwarves go, but also really mentally not doing well, and she expends a lot of energy not confronting this. She's remarkably successful, it's just that she's guessing the entire time and a lot of her choices go against her own, or her friends' wishes, in the name of the "Greater Good," but what that means to her is really unclear. She is so desperate to protect everyone and save Ferelden because she knows its right, but she doubts every choice she makes and so many "good" choices cause a lot more pain. She begins her journey feeling unloved, put-upon and lost and ends her journey feeling unloved, put-upon, and lost <3. She's also batshit a little and spends a lot of time doing really risky shit in a half-hearted attempt to chase death in a very Zevran-esque way aha. She comes out of the Blight an extremely weird unsettling person, and I do spend a lot of time jumping the shark with her. She drinks that weird bottle at Solider's Peak and does The Golems of Amgarrak stuff, if that explains anything. She's a ball of knots and hard to explain quickly. Mingrin: Partha's dog. Really cool guy and good boy.
Warden Judpha: Dwarf Commoner, not Brosca, thruple with Zevran and Killian. Grew up in Dust Town and was the guardian to his niece from a young age and broke when she was murdered. He's effectively ripped apart in Ostagar, and this leaves him short an arm and a leg. His Ostagar trauma makes him entirely unwilling to face the Dark Spawn. Jud start off pretty coarse - particularly with Partha, who he bitterly refers to as "Peace-Keeper" - and he softens up over time. He learns to read and write and becomes the sort of book-keeper of the group.
Warden Killian Tabris: True to the Elf Commoner Origin, thruple with Zevran and Judpha. Killian's a little less developed than the other two, but she's also pretty prickly. She dislikes Partha and Alistair because of their highborn status. She tends to lead a secondary party. I think her story is about her growing from jaded and act-first-questions-later to a more tempered and empathetic leader, as she's left to be Commander of the Grey after Partha disappears. I think Jud and Zevran allow her to soften up and relax a bit. I think she'll probably parallel Partha in a lot of ways. She joins at the same time as Alistair. Warden (Unnamed so far) Mahariel: Likely true to Elf Dalish origin. He'll likely spend a lot of time on the side lines. He joins at the same time as Partha and, when he finds himself entirely alone at Ostagar, goes "why would i die for a bunch of people who don't give two shits about me when I can go home and help my clan??" and immediately high tails it. He comes back up when the wardens come to the Dalish and find him. He gets turned into a werewolf and at the end of it he probably choses to stay and help prepare the Clans for the Dark spawn. He isn't meant to come across as a coward, but just as someone who, rightfully, is more concerned with the immediate future of his loved ones rather than a more abstract Series of Misadventures to Maybe? Save the World. Not to mention, he's alone right off the bat and has no context on how to be a warden.
Warden Surana and Warden Cousland (also both unnammed): Both mostly true to Human Noble & Elf Circle. They're more of a MacGuffin. They're both slightly older wardens than Alistair & Killian. Warden Surana and Cousland survived Ostagar (Likely alongside Killian and Judpha) and immediately went into action. They presume the old treaties are lost with Alistair and decide to go to Soldier's Peak to try and find some sort of hope. When Civil War pressures get real, Cousland makes a plan to use his Nobility status to wed Anora and reign some things back into place. This is what sends Partha on the path to wedding Alistair to Anora. When The Party get to Soldier's Peak, Cousland has been killed and likely so has Warden Surana.
Ameira Surana: Sister to Warden Surana and another Circle Elf. Romances Alistair. She is a prodigious young mage who spent much of her life in her sister's shadow. This allowed her to get away with what she wanted in peace. I forget which exactly was the specific character issue that sent her down her path, but after her sister and Jowan bounce, she does become a practicing Blood mage. she keeps this under wraps for a while and eventually saves Judpha's life with it, so he doesn't say anything about it. She joins the party with Wynne to help the Wardens and eventually falls in love with Alistair, and it's really sweet and smooth up until Partha and Eamon make moves to wed Anora and Alistair. Alistair breaks up with Ameira to try and spare her from everything that is going on. Ameira, devastated by the last 2 years' shenanigans' like every one else, does eventually fireball-blood magic the shit out of Partha and Anora and Judpha is like "hm yeah i guess i should've said something sooner."

hello !! good day to you !! :)
first, i wanna say that i've read and re-read all your completed fics multiple times and im waiting for write this down to be complete to read it (because im so terrible at waiting through cliffhangers, heh) and i love love LOVE your works so very much. everybody wants you ?? down the line ??? swear to be overdramatic ???? the DRABBLES ????? i love how Healthy relationships are portrayed and i love the tenderness between H and L and i love that you make your side characters so well rounded instead of just being a vent board to the main characters, so, THANK you for writing !!! and uploading your artwork !!!!!
secondly, i was just wondering, are real life healthy relationships (romantic and platonic, plus familial) genuinely that vulnerable and intimate as has been portrayed in the book ? like, there's a scene in the drabbles where H rambles to Elena that he's so happy that he has L and he never thought he'd get to a place where he'd be comfortable with his s/o going to the clubs alone, and that's. he's opening up, and he's actually talking about his feelings, and it's just . so good . and so honest . and i absolutely ADORE that chat .
i have trouble with social interaction and i don't know how much is deemed "socially acceptable" to share so i was wondering if it's realistic to just be so vulnerable . you don't have to answer this at all !! and im /not/ questioning the accuracy of your book, i was just genuinely wondering about real life relationships as im very very (very very very) socially inadept, heh.
sorry for the loooooong rambly ask ! you really don't have to answer if you don't wish to !! and i hope you're having a fabtastic day !! and that you're being kind to yourself :) <3
OH MY GOD HIIIIIIII <3 i am so, so sorry i did not see this a little earlier, but i am here to answer now :)
so FIRST thank you so so so so much for reading my stories and for those kinds words and just ???? AKLJFSLKJFSDFS ?????? you get sO many bonus points for mentioning everybody wants you :'))) (i forget about her sometimes, so you officially know my stories better than i do sdjfsfsdj). i am so happy you love them and that you reread them and i hope you enjoy write this down tooooo (she's FINALLY uploaded in her entirety! i also never read WIP because i am so impatient sdjkfsjlfj). getting to develop my characters and their stories (especially the side characters ?? they're so fun??) is such an incredible joy for me. i love world building so, so much :') for me, the most important thing in writing love stories is my need to feel like- if i were the reader- i would be rooting for the characters to be in a relationship and that i would want them to work out. putting myself in that mindset made developing healthy relationships easier, especially between louis and harry <3
and i also love, love, love that question? it's not one i've ever been asked and this answer will be a little long, but i hope it helps! :')
i completely understand what you mean because i am also NOT always great in navigating personal, intimate relationships (i'm a capricorn, so by natURE my typical response is bottling everything up and then making myself sick as i overthink every little detail), but over the past few years, i've met new people and made friends who showed me how much beauty there is in just being honest and communicating my needs and my hurt. i like to try to be as honest as possible because it spares people guessing games. i am an overthinker and if someone i'm close to words something in a certain way, or if they say something with a bit of a colder tone, i can spiral very, very, VERY easily and worry that they're angry or that i upset them. but i tend to find that my mental health and my outlook on relationships (and friendships) is much better when i'm close with people who i can have difficult conversations with without it feeling like the relationship is going to end or suffer irreparable damage
that being said, relationships are also really really really hard and none of them are perfect because humans aren't perfect. in speaking directly about harry and elena (i am SO happy you mentioned them they are MY BABIES), i can imagine myself being that open with two of my sisters (i have four), because i trust them with my life and i know they trust me, too. but, even so, we weren't always at that point and all three of us had a lot of growing up to do before we got to that point. in the context of harry and elena, they are the only two children in the styles household and it's implied that they were really all each other had growing up, which definitely aids in their closeness (but they're also not always perfect either, and that's okay :) in the pre-DTL story, they did have a massive argument about harry's relationship with vince that resulted in harry not going home for the holidays and (though i haven't written out that argument yet, i can definitely say neither of them were LISTENING as well as they could have been). we can try our very best to be honest and to approach disagreements well, but we're all flawed and the people we love are flawed, so. i think with that vulnerability, we also need to learn a lot about forgiveness, toooo <3
so i think, in writing harry and louis in down the line as vulnerably as i did, it was me describing what i think a relationship at its very best looks like- it's one where you can be vulnerable and direct in your relationship, and you can also frame these conversations in a way that isn't an attack on either one, but rather a discussion that is like, "here is an issue we have and here is how it makes me feel, how can WE fix it?". i don't think that's easy, and louis and harry had to go through over 300k words of development (counting the drabbles!) to get to that point where they are that level of comfortable with each other <3 i also like to think about the scene in chapter eight of DTL, where harry gives louis the silent treatment after louis mentions maybe not returning to cleveland, and the way louis (calmly and without lashing out) makes them talk about it. they both discuss their points of view and it doesn't escalate and it's just a mature look into a really, really good relationship :) it's that point i hope to get to in all of my friendships and relationships, which is a work in progress (not to trauma dump on the main bUT i didn't grow up in a household where feelings were openly discussed or healthy conversations were facilitated after arguments, and now that i have people in my life who have showed me better approaches to vulnerability, i feel happier)
SO, LONG ANSWER SHORT I AM SO SORRY I AM RAMBLING, in my mind, louis and harry's relationship is the ideal and it takes a lot of work, trust, and comfortability to get there. it's definitely not easy, and i don't think i'm necessarily there in a majority of my relationships, but in the ones where i feel that level of comfort, i've found myself a lot happier <333 every relationship and friendship is different and develops differently, but i think we all deserve people in our lives we can be incredibly vulnerable with and know that they care about our point of view <3 in the meantime, we always need to be mindful of how we make others feel and how we can work to understand the people we love as well :-) relationships are always on-going and developing and i think a huge part of them is learning how to grow together :)
this is so long and i am so sorry sfjlslfjsf but i really do hope it helped and answered your question!!! if you ever want to talk more, my dm's are always open! (or if you'd prefer to remain anonymous, i will try my very best to nOT take ages to respond next time :D )
thank you so, so much and i hope you have a great day and are taking care of yourself :)

OUROBOROS for dessert (after the wine ran empty)
A mere daydream of a woman in a devastatingly sour marriage
It was the second week of our supposed honeymoon trip. I know we agreed on not doing a proper wedding, and so no proper honeymoon, because we were just too busy with work and everything else but I can't help but dream what it would have been like if we just called it all off. I could have found someone who actually understands me. Not that Arthur isn’t good. He cares for me, but anyone can do that. He just doesn’t properly understand me deep within. I constantly daydream of men that I've had almost no proper interaction with and what my life would end up like if I was to drop everything and be with them. Last night we went to the marina to have dinner, it was 8:23, I was wearing a slightly overindulgent dark red dress and Arthur was wearing a fresh white shirt, black tie, and a perfectly fitting blazer. We barely spoke to each other the whole day, and by dinner, we’d grown silent. We ordered a bottle of red wine and as the waiter poured us each a glass I gazed at him, then the harbour, and began to imagine our fictional future together.
We were in rome. We had just bought our first property, a pretty little house right on the waterfront. I was a few months pregnant and we were in a paintshop deciding what colour to decorate the walls of each room in the house. I initially thought a pale pink colour for the baby’s room, but he soon suggested a sage green, which seemed infinitely the better choice. We rushed home and instantly got to work. Every half hour or so he would come from one of the other rooms and hug me from behind. He would ask me if I wanted a refill of whatever it was I was drinking, and offer a hand. He was always so polite and just wanted to pamper me with affection and support. Later on, after we ate, we took a walk to the local picturehouse to watch whatever was showing. I never properly understood what was going on but he seemed to love it, and I loved that for him.
Deep into this fantasy, our main courses arrive. I got the seabass, Arthur got muscles. I hated the way he ate. He was always so messy, he never properly understood having the correct etiquette during meals. He was known for how polite he was but for some reason, during meals, he was like a dog eating its dinner for the first time all week. He was ravenous.
I realised that we hadn’t said a word to each other for just over 2 hours. I almost cried on the spot. My food had gone cold and I was in a loveless marriage that was only doomed to get worse as each day went on. I should have listened to my grandmother. She always warned me of marrying too young and making the same mistakes she and my parents made. I never believed her, my Mum always told me not to, but maybe none of this would have happened if I had just listened. Maybe I wouldn’t be sitting 2 metres from the sea, with a man who doesn’t really know me at all, dreaming of ridiculous fictional futures, with men I don't even know their names, now crying directly into my meal, as Arthur just watches it all unfold. I stand up, but evidently too quickly and so grab the table for physical support. The wine was finished. I don't remember having that much. Arthur stares at me for a second and then back into the distance. The sound of the water and the boats begin to fade out. I soon can't hear anything at all except a loud white noise, but I cannot decipher its source. I look down to see this unusual hazy ring around me. As I question my own sanity, the ring develops into a snake, at first circling me slowly but soon develops into fast laps around my waist. The snake appeared to be dead, it had bit on its own tail, but it was still managing to circle my body. The colours of my surroundings had faded, and continued to fade until the world had gone black and white. Then the light started to go out. Was I dreaming? Was any of this real or had I dreamt of a different life so much that I can’t even separate these dreams from my own reality?

Just got out of the FNaF movie. Honestly, I left this franchise when Sister Location came out. I really wanted to watch this for sort of the same reason I'm playing Hogwarts Legacy: to say good-bye.
Five Nights at Freddy's consumed so much of my personality in high school, and my the time I was studying in college, I felt the series had grown too big, too fast. I noped out of it and cut myself out of the games, the books, the fan-art and fan music and just, cold turkey, evicted the series from my life and never thought poorly of that decision.
With the announcement of the film, I knew I would inevitably have to watch it. You cannot allow a property to consume so much of who you are without it having some kind of impact when something seriously big happens.
But I cannot engage with this series like I used to, I can't be the sort of fan I used to be (I highly recommend no-one seek out my old fan-fics). I feel as though I never properly said good-bye to a Fandom that used to matter so much to me.
Seeing the movie, I think, did that.
It was a bit of fun, cheesy good fun. The kills brought me joy, the cast did their best.
This is, to my estimate, the third time I've seen Matthew Lillard as a serial killer. His work on Criminal Minds was better, but that's okay. That's fine.
Seeing these characters (many of whom I've seen in... uh... unique, shall we say, situations) brought to life brought me joy. Springtrap especially got a very loud applause from me (and a glare from my sister beside me).
It's not necessarily a good movie. It's quite by the numbers. It doesn't do anything special, or new. No boundaries were broken. But I don't think a Five Nights at Freddy's movie needed to do any of those things.
I like however what this movie represents. It's the exact opposite of the Slenderman movie.
Five Nights at Freddy's was an independent game that, through extraordinary circumstances, evolved into something unpredictable. Lightning in a bottle that won't strike again any time soon. It's reached that cult "too big to fail" status that any developer or content creator dreams of.
This movie is simple, grounded. But that's what makes it work. It doesn't go off the rails, off the walls, bonkers fucking crazy. It's a perfect example of the movie I would have wanted when the first game came out (holy shit!), almost ten years ago. Before lore and Easter eggs and absurdity broke what was originally a very simple thing.
In a way, it reminded me a lot of how far we as gamers, we as fans, we as consumers, have come. Because this movie would literally not exist if fans hadn't fallen in love, if content creators hadn't helped blow this whole thing open into the massive thing it is today.
I said it's the opposite of the Slendermsn movie. That film was a train wreck. It was Hollywood trying to cash-in on a popular trend without understanding it, or the culture associated with it.
It created controversy and fell to bad writing because it didn't get it. It didn't read the room or bother to care about the real-world incidents that the mythos inspired.
It was shameless.
This however, was respectful to the source, and respectful to the audience.
And with all of that said, I am finally free. I have finally made my peace and I'm saying good-bye. They were my friends, but they grew up without me. I've grown away from that world.
I would very much like to wonder though, what kind of fan I would be now if I hadn't given up on Fandom as a whole? If I hadn't decided that fan art and fan music were childish and that I was a grown up?
I should read The Hobbit again.

tic-tac-toe | mcu
marvel cast x actress!reader
warnings: one swear, fluff, no plot
summary: you play aphrodite in the MCU and it's time for the press conference for infinity war. based off of this press conference
wc: 2.7k
Tumblr media
"Tom Hiddleston!" Jeff Goldblum introduced the man who was sitting on your right.
Everyone applauded before Jeff moved onto you, "Y/N Y/L/N!" more applause rang through the room.
"Sebastian Stan!" you looked to your left where Sebastian waved to the crowd as you clapped with everyone else.
"Anthony Mackie!"
After Jeff finished with the introductions, he explained how the panel would work. He would pull a ping pong ball out of a container and it would either have a name or category. The audience would be able to ask a question to that person or a person in that category after Jeff called on them.
As he pulled RDJ's name out of the container, Tom leaned over towards you.
"Does your water taste funny, too?" he whispered making you stifle a laugh.
You nodded, "Kind of like lemon, right?"
He shook his head, "Mine tastes like mint. Can I taste yours?" he held his hand out as you passed him your water bottle. He took a sip and spent a moment analyzing the taste, "Yours does taste like lemon! Why does mine taste different? Here." he passed you his water.
You took a sip and were hit with a strong mint flavour, "Woah. I think they're trying to drug you." you joked making him laugh.
"As I am answering this question, Tom Hiddleston and Y/N Y/L/N are discussing the flavours of the water behind me." Robert exposed you and Tom to the audience making the room burst out into laughter.
"They have fancy water. Mint and lemon." Tom spoke into a mic drawing more laughs. "Sorry. Carry on!"
As Jeff pulled the next name, you adjusted your dress. A white, long sleeve, blazer dress with gold buttons down the middle, the dress ended mid-thigh. The v-neck cut showcased your subtle gold necklace. Black stiletto heels covered your feet.
You unconsciously began bouncing your leg up and down in a fast motion. Sebastian placed a hand on your thigh, stopping your movements, "You're gonna drill a hole through the floor, Y/L/N." he chuckled.
"Sorry." you laughed quietly.
Sebastian pulled out a notepad and pen, "You need a distraction. Tic-tac-toe?" he offered.
You smiled with a nod before making your move.
"You absolutely suck at this." you chuckled as you won the third game in a row.
Sebastian scoffed, "You can't suck at tic-tac-toe."
"And yet, you do." you smirked.
He rolled his eyes playfully before you continued playing.
After two more rounds, your attention was back on Jeff as he pulled a new ping pong ball. "Ooh! You can ask a God or Goddess." Jeff announced, "So, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Hemsworth or Y/N Y/L/N." he reminded the crowd, "Okay, yes, you!" he picked a woman in the front row.
"Hi, I'm Alexis with Forbes. My question is for Y/N." the room applauded as Jeff tossed the ping pong ball at you and you caught it with one hand.
"See, Robert! It's not that hard!" Jeff exclaimed making everyone laugh.
"Screw off, Goldblum! You chucked that shit at my head." Robert joked back. "Sorry, Alexis, go ahead."
"Um, I wanted to ask about Aphrodite's powers. We all know that she is the Goddess of Love and can seduce anyone with her beauty. We see in the trailer a small clip of her seducing men. How many people did you seduce in the film and were there any funny moments filming those scenes that you can share?"
Her question drew a mix of reactions from the cast. Some laughed, some furrowed their eyebrows and others were just confused. You took in the question before opening your mouth to reply, until you remembered that you weren't wearing a body mic. The cast laughed again before Sebastian passed you a mic.
"Sorry. Um, how many people did I seduce in the film? None." you stated drawing more laughs, "How many people did Aphrodite seduce? All of them." you chuckled, "I'm kidding. Although, I'm not sure what I can share because I don't know what's in the trailer." you confessed, "Kevin, Joe, Anthony, what's in the trailer?" you asked them making everyone laugh again.
Kevin picked up a mic, "I believe it's you seducing Spider-Man, Starlord, Drax and Iron Man."
You nodded, "I do have a funny moment that I'm sure Mister Holland will kill me for sharing, but it's too good to not tell." you smiled thinking of the memory.
Tom immediately grabbed a mic, "You wouldn't!" he exclaimed making the audience and cast laugh.
"I would," you retorted, "We were shooting that scene and, as you know, they have to act like they are falling in love with me. Like I'm putting them in a trance. Well, Tom took that a bit too seriously." you paused at the laughter that your sentence caused, "They're all on their knees in front of me, looking at me as if I'm their queen, because I am." you joked, "And then Anthony calls 'cut' and Dave, Chris and RDJ all get up and start chatting, but as I'm turning away, Tom doesn't move. Still on his knees, looking at me as if I hold the world in my hands." the room filled with amused laughs and chuckles as Tom covered his face with his hands.
"No, it was so bad because I just looked like a creep that couldn't stop staring at her!" Tom laughed at himself.
Robert grabbed a mic, "Very true. I was watching and it honestly had me convinced that Y/N had real powers."
"I have to say, I understand the kid's reaction. Y/N's costume for Aphrodite and the way they transform her only enhances how gorgeous she already is." Anthony Mackie spoke up causing the crowd to gush and clap, "I'm pretty sure we all had the same reaction when we first saw her while filming Civil War." he looked around as the cast nodded.
Scarlett picked up a mic, "Yeah. I remember her walking on set in this stunning white dress which made me extremely jealous," she confessed, "Because, one, it's so gorgeous and she looks absolutely amazing in it," the crowd and cast applauded again, "And two, it's made of the softest silk while my suit is leather and spandex!" everyone laughed at her comment.
Benedict picked up his mic, "Although, it wasn't Tom's first time seeing Y/N as Aphrodite. He was in Civil War and still could not contain himself." he teased making the audience and cast laugh again.
Robert spoke again, "Yeah, he did that during the filming of Civil War, too." the room hollered with laughs.
Tom's face was bright red, "I'm just a very committed actor. I really give all of myself to my work." his comment drew more laughs.
"That's why Sebastian despises Tom. It all started when Tom couldn't take his eyes off of Y/N." Chris Hemsworth added making everyone double over in laughter.
"I feel so loved," you held a hand to your heart as the room chuckled, "These are genuinely the best people in the world and I guess you could say I seduced one person during filming." you joked as the crowd continued to laugh, "Sorry, Tom. I'll buy you some juice, don't be mad." Anthony and Benedict laughed loudly. "Thank you for your question!" you thanked the lady as the cast clapped before Jeff picked out the next ping pong ball.
Next was Scarlett. You sat back and silently judged the man who asked about fashion. Scoffing with Sebastian at his question and laughing at Scarlett's sarcastic and witty responses.
Sebastian leaned over again, "I have to piss."
You stifled a laugh at his abrupt confession, "Go to the washroom, then." you nodded your head towards the exit.
"We're not allowed to leave." he frowned.
You chuckled and reached over, patting his thigh with your hand, "Don't piss yourself."
He rolled his eyes playfully before Jeff called out the next name.
"Anthony Mackie!"
"Hi, I'm Tiffany with Times Magazine. With such a star studded cast, do you find it difficult or any obstacles in developing your character with all theses amazing stories being told and struggling for screen time? Like, are there any obstacles or special difficulties or is it all just amazing?"
Before Anthony could answer, Joe Russo picked up his mic, "Are you asking Anthony Mackie if he has a hard time getting attention?" his comment caused the whole room to erupt in laughs.
Anthony nodded slowly as the laughter died down, "Touché, touché. Uh, well, Tiffany, a wise man once said that some men need an hour to make their presence felt and some need thirty seconds." there was an uproar of laughter and hollering at his comment as he dramatically dropped the mic on the table.
"Who are we asking next?" Jeff squinted at the ping pong ball, "Ooh! Back to the Goddess of Love herself, Y/N Y/L/N!" the room applauded for you as Jeff threw the ball to you.
Sebastian intercepted the toss and caught the ball himself with a smug smirk. You rolled your eyes, but smiled as Jeff picked a lady out of the dozens who had raised their hand.
"Hi, I'm Amy with Esquire and I wanted to ask about the relationship between Bucky and Aphrodite. We see in the previous films their awkward tension from their past history. They have a very special romance and their love story is a fan favourite in the Marvel fandom. What was it like building that bond and relationship on screen? And what do you think of the choice to match the two characters together, how did you react when you found out? Did the pairing of the two help build your bond off screen?"
Jeff spoke again, "I said 'one question', that was at least twenty." he teased the lady drawing laughs from the room.
You chuckled and nodded slowly as the laughter died down, "Excellent questions. Umm, I honestly really like the pairing of the two. I think it gives a great dynamic to both characters and reveals sides of them that we never would've seen without their relationship. It's a very 'good girl falling for the bad guy' trope. And if I'm being honest, I've always wanted that." you confessed causing the room to chuckle, "Their relationship is, without a doubt, one of the most complicated ones in the MCU, but I think that's what makes it so loved by the fans since there's not a dull moment between the two. It's nice to see Bucky have a sentimental side, in his own awkward way of course. And you get to see Aphrodite fall for someone who's not a God or a Titan." you turned to Sebastian, "What do you think?"
You offered him the mic, but he didn't take it, letting you hold it up for him, "Yeah, I agree. I never thought Bucky would have a love interest, if I'm being honest. But I'm glad he does because Aphrodite brings out the soft side in him and he brings out the fighter in her. They really balance each other out and Y/N portrays the character in such a unique way, it really brings a whole new fresh persona to Aphrodite and it's amazing having her as a partner on screen." the audience applauded at his words, "When I first found out about Bucky having her as his love interest—"
"—He called me screaming about how hyped he was." Anthony Mackie cut him off making the room laugh. "Anthony! Anthony! Bucky is gonna be with Aphrodite! That's gonna be sick!" Anthony mocked his voice as you were hunched over with laughter.
Sebastian nodded with a smile, "I did. Won't lie, I did. It's a really refreshing relationship and I'm glad that the fans love it as much as I love playing it. Back to you, you haven't talked about the development and our bond." he gave you a lopsided grin.
You chuckled, "I feel like I'm rambling, but yeah. Their development is definitely," you paused, trying to find the right words, "A development?" you settled on drawing more laughter. "Well, as I said, it's very complicated, but awkwardly adorable at times. Since Seb complimented me, I feel obligated to say something nice about him," you joked making them laugh again, "Kidding. He really does play Bucky with such passion and commitment, it's truly inspiring. And working with someone who loves what they do as much as Seb, it definitely motivates you tremendously and yeah. Um, I won't lie, I honestly was dreading working with Seb," you confessed drawing laughs and a gasp from Sebastian.
"Why?!" he exclaimed making you laugh.
You sighed, "Not because I think you're a bad person or anything, but you come off as very intimidating to people who don't know you very well. And I knew nothing about you before filming other than the films you'd already done, so you scared me." your confession caused everyone to laugh loudly.
Sebastian smirked jokingly, "I am extremely frightening. I understand." he shrugged.
You scoffed with a laugh, "I caught you sleeping with a stuffed turtle and whale noises playing." the room roared with laughter again, "That's when I knew you were a big softy."
Sebastian rolled his eyes playfully, "She's joking. I am the toughest man alive." he deepened his voice.
You shook your head with a chuckle, "Sure. Thank you for your questions." the room clapped for you as you set the mic down and relaxed back into your seat.
"Nailed it." Sebastian held a hand out for a high five and you chuckled before hitting your hand against his.
For the rest of the press conference, you sat back and listened to your friends answer questions. Laughed at jokes made and clapped when appropriate. Small tic-tac-toe games went on between you and Sebastian. Your attention was fully on your nails when Tom Hiddleston got called on.
"Hi, I'm Samantha with Daily Mail and I was wondering, since Loki is a very closed off and mysterious character, we never explore the aspect of him having a love interest. So, if you could choose anyone from the MCU for Loki to end up with, who would it be and why?"
You turned to look at Tom as he pondered on the question, crossing his arms and rubbing his chin, "Very good question. Umm, who would I choose for Loki? Let's see," he paused again and looked around the room until his eyes landed on you, "Ah, I'd steal Aphrodite from Bucky." he answered making the room laugh and Sebastian chuckled with a nod.
"Why Aphrodite?" Jeff asked.
Tom chuckled again, "Well, it's Aphrodite." he simply answered drawing more laughs, "They are so different yet similar in so many ways. Loki is never fully evil nor fully good, but I think Aphrodite has the best chance of turning him good. And who wouldn't want to end up with the Goddess of Love?"
The cast nodded understandingly before Chris Pratt grabbed a mic, "If you were to ask any person on this stage that same question, I guarantee the answer would be Aphrodite." the whole cast nodded.
"They're all trying to steal Sebastian's woman." Jeff teased.
Sebastian scoffed jokingly, "They're all jealous." he wrapped an arm around your shoulder.
You chuckled with a shake of your head before Robert spoke up, "Adding onto the conversation. Miss Y/L/N, who would you want Aphrodite to end up with?" his question drew excited reactions from the crowd.
You let out a bark of laughter before looking from Tom to Sebastian, "Hmm, excellent question, Mister Downey." you rubbed your chin, "Stop doing that, Holland." you chuckled as you saw Tom point at himself in the corner of your eye.
He raised his hands in surrender before Anthony Mackie spoke up, "Spidey is five years old, kid." everyone laughed at that.
"I'd have to stick with Bucky. He is her true love." you shrugged as the crowd cheered.
Sebastian smirked from beside you as the men of the cast faked disappointment.
As the panel came to a close, you looked around at the family you were surrounded by. Friends you love more than anything. Hundreds of memories with the most amazing people you'd ever met. Your home.

your top 5 dasey episodes?💕
1. Home Movies
Tumblr media
OK. Their fight at the beginning screams UST (and also kickstarts the episode)
Casey is trying to interview Derek about the family and he surprisingly gets really pissed at her. They fight alot in this show, but this is the first time he legitimately shouts at her while being dead serious/visably hurts her feelings and vice versa.
He's clearly mad that she left him out of something that deeply effects him. Hes never been good at expressing feelings which leads to him bottling them up and letting them out in an unhealthly way (sometimes I feel this dude needs more therpy than Casey). Even though, he likes his new step-family, he still had no say in the matter at the end of the day e.g. This is not a picture perfect family Casey, this is a mess of a family thats making the best of a contrived situation.
And its very obvious to me, that he clearly loves her by this point, and he resents the fact that he does. e.g. 'My Dads decisions put me in this mess'
It gave me a slight reminder of 'Flowers in the Attic' (even though thats a totally different kettle of fish) where the two eldest siblings fall in love with eachother because of the situation they are forced under by their parents (i.e. emotional neglect etc)
Tumblr media
And the ending scene where they playfight over a video of Derek filming her brushing her teeth, is like my favourite moment between them ever. Its so cute and touchy feely and full of love. I tell you, in another situation, this would end in sex. (not even sorry right now)
2. Adios Derek
Tumblr media
This could be my top favourite (if it wasn't for 'Home Movies') because it just shows how much Derek is obssessed with his step-sister, to the point that hes told hes going to be sent away to another continent.
Tumblr media
The thing he pranks Casey about is strangely specific. Hes just found out she keeps a poetry column. He hacks her computer, and changes the poem she writes - to a limmick that he wrote. I dono - its just a little weird if he doesn't have feelings for her.
Also possibly my favourite moment is at the end of the episode, where he gives her an advanced copy of the school paper (without being asked) where he had her real poem published, along side funny poetry that he wrote about her. Thats peak romance for me.
3. Things that Go Bump in the Night
Tumblr media
This episode is such a choatic mess OMG. The way Casey is eager to impress Derek by sneaking out with him. Their married bicker in the car -- which leads to them denting the other car. Them acting like 'a couple' who might get found out by the rest of the family. I love every bit of it. I've said this before but its almost like a G rated version of them going on a date secretly and the family finding out.
4. March Break
Tumblr media
Very Obvious Choice. But come on. Why did George and Nora leave them alone together?
I just think its funny how this episode has a contrast of the family road trip vs Derek and Casey at home, circling each other, reinacting 'Creul Intentions'.
It just shows how the show genre is split in half. There's the family-friendly comedy of George and Nora and Lizzie, Edwin and Marti. And theres the whatevers going on with Derek and Casey. They are an genre in itself (heh heh)
5. Dinner Guest
Tumblr media
I love this episode for the primal reason that he calls Casey's Dad back after seeing Casey upset. I feel this is one of those pivotal moments in their relationship. And he's not even there when Casey's Dad comes back, which means he didn't even want the credit. He just wanted to see her happy. Great character development for Derek.

I haven't played TGAA, but I find the double standard in the way Barok is treated vs the way Miles, Fran and the rest of them are treated kind of strange. Barok is supposedly insufferable, plus he's racist and xenophobic. I ain't excusing that, but that's just how 19th century England was.
Miles and Fran have most likely sent innocent people to jail or even landed them the death penalty, simply because they cared more about securing a guilty verdict than actual justice. Godot is a literal murderer, and I've heard some unpleasant things about Simon and Nahyuta as well.
Yet, all (or most of) these characters are redeemed. Barok's biggest crime is...upholding the views of everyone else at the time. And that somehow makes him irredeemable, despite him actually warming up to Ryonosuke later. I'm not saying everyone should like Barok, but if Barok is irredeemable, so is every other prosecutor in AA.
This has been pretty much my point ever since they announced GAA's localization.
Barok is obnoxious, that is undeniable. Nipponese this, Eastern island that, his mocking of Ryuu easily crosses a line that leaves the player uncomfortable, as it should, because if his xenophobia doesn't bother you it says more about you than about the game.
But. Being obnoxious is all he does.
He does not present forged evidence, or use loopholes in court, or coach witnesses, like Edgeworth and Franziska used to do.
He's never ever physically violent against the defense, unlike Franziska, Godot, Simon or Nahyuta - he breaks his own glasses and bottles when frustrated, but he never harms anyone. (it says something that the entire series so far had only three prosecutors who are decent human beings)
His objective as a prosecutor is simply to find the truth. While he pushes very hard to prove the guilt of the defendant, it's clear that it's because he genuinely believes in his case - once Ryuu manages to convince him his theory makes sense, Barok drops most of his hostility and helps him. Unlike Edgeworth pre-heel face turn and Franziska, he couldn't care less about his own record, which means that he never deliberately gambled with the lives of potentially innocent people for his own ego. He is biased towards Ryuu, not only because he's Japanese but also because Barok admits to personally taking his cases even if they're banal, but he's not completely driven by a petty grudge like Godot - like I said, he'll help Ryuu win if he does a good enough job in his book, no matter his personal feelings towards his learned Japanese friend.
Both he and Edgeworth post-heel face turn share the same goal of finding the truth. However, Edgeworth has hurt at least one person in his quest, infamously Adrian Andrews when he threatened to reveal her mental illness in court and even said "if you kill yourself, that is no concern of mine". Compare this with Barok, who has shown himself capable of kindness as soon as his second appearance, when he (spoilers for Case 4 of GAA) subtly implied he would allow Roly Beate to keep his job despite tampering with the crime scene, because he could empathize with the poor man wanting to spend one day with his wife.
He's genuinely competent in his job, relying simply on cold hard logic to dismantle the defense's arguments as a good prosecutor should - to be honest, it may be the different writers, but Klavier, Simon and Nahyuta never struck me as being especially good at their job, with Klavier having to deal with a rather incompetent Apollo in AJ and Simon and Nayhuta happily abusing the old "attacking the defense" and "asking evidence for every word you say" tricks. (to be fair Simon gets to demonstrate his interesting manipulative skills in one case... Turnabout Storyteller, when he's Athena's ally. Also, I can't remember anything particularly horrible he does beyond being an ass like usual, in fact he may be the best prosecutor of the second trilogy)
Speaking of Nahyuta, the reasons I can't stand him while I love Barok are that Nahyuta is nothing but repetitive, unwitty, painfully realistic obnoxiousness propped up by a shallow twist revealed at the tail-end of the game; he has no real character development, because "sowwy guys i was good all along" is not development; he prosecutes simply to win even if it means insisting that a young girl committed murder in spite of the defense's reasonable arguments; there is no in-game justification for shit like him tormenting Athena in Japanifornia, or even him being an asshole in Japanifornia at all; and there's no weight in the realization that he let hundreds of innocent people being sentenced to death while he stood aside to protect his sister (like, that has got to mess you up a bit right? Can you show me that, game?). Barok not only has a much more fleshed out, drawn out backstory that explains most of his behavior (although I have my reservations at tying his racism to One Trauma); not only he slowly (... very slowly) warms up to Ryuu; not only he has humanizing traits like feeling horrible about being branded the Reaper of the Old Bailey, like it would happen to anyone being rumored to be a death bringer; but he is, most important of all, an overdramatic bitch and the contrast between his intimidating demeanor and the shit he pulls behind the bench is infinitely more hilarious than being told for the umpteenth time that you're a putrid lawyer who's going to hell. It doesn't sound like much, but a good AA game masters the art of "love to hate".
You know how Klavier is a base-breaking prosecutor because some consider him too nice? Barok is what happens when you take Klavier's honest, well-meaning demeanor and give him enough presence to be hated and loved at the same time. I completely understand if people find him too annoying (he's testing my own patience lmao), but I still think he is one of the best prosecutors in the series, both as a job and as the role of the rival.

So I know absolutely nothing about Leverage except what I've been seeing you post lately and I have to admit you're making it look tempting to watch! Can I ask what are some of your favorite things about the show/reasons you would suggest people watch it? And is there really a poly relationship that is canon?
Okay. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. I am going to do my best not to just “asdfghkjl” at you and answer coherently.
In a nutshell, Leverage is about 5 people. 4 are criminals (Parker, Hardison, Eliot and Sophie) with different and unique skill-sets and 1 is an ex-insurance investigator (Nate) who, at one point or another in his career, has tracked down (or at least attempted to) the other 4. The whole show is essentially: man reluctantly reforms 4 criminals to use their criminal powers for good and 4 criminals move into man’s life and stubbornly refuse to leave because, goddammit, now they have morals.
I’ve got a lot of favourite things about the show but the main ones are as follows:
1. Found family. And I’m not talking about loners who come together to fight crime and happen to co-exist to the point where they realise they happen to have found themselves a family. I mean, Nate and Sophie are the Drunk Uncle and Wine Aunt who somehow become Mom and Dad to 3 beautiful criminal children. Mom and Dad love their criminal babies and the kids love them (as well as each other, but we’ll come to that in a moment). You get amazing family moments such as: Mom and Dad packing the kids lunch before sending them out to kick corporate greed’s ass; Mom and Dad giving the kids ridiculously expensive and personal Christmas presents causing their most Grumpy Kid to go very very quiet and soft as he runs off to gleefully play with his new murder toy; the kids interrupting Mom and Dad’s big Movie Style Kiss to ask if they can please keep their new underground layer and huffing and puffing when Dad tells them no.
Tumblr media
2. Found family: the OT3 edition. To answer your question, the OT3 is indeed canon, confirmed by the creator. Now, usually, “confirmed by the creator” infuriates me because most of the time it’s a way for a creator to be seen as “progressive” without doing anything to actually be progressive. That isn’t the case here. The OT3 are built up carefully and while it is obvious the creators didn’t originally intend for all 3 of them to become a relationship in the romantic sense, by mid-season 5 we are given a very clear picture of where Parker, Hardison and Eliot are heading in their relationship. There aren’t any kisses at the end to signal this but there are solid marriage vows in not only one but two episodes. (And by marriage vows I mean literal equivalents of marriage vows: “for better or worse” and “’til death do us part”. I’m not even exaggerating). The OT3 also doesn’t need explicit romantic narratives to convey how much they love each other. Their love is laced through the whole show, from the way they teach each other things to the way they respond to each other and work as a unit. The way they fiercely protect and admire each other. Like someone once said, if you need characters to kiss or say I love you to let the audience know they love each other, you are writing them wrong.
Aside from that, each of the parings in the OT3 are just. Gah. They are so well done, with friendship being the solid basis for them all. The creators never expect the audience to assume anything about them or fill in the gaps. They give us their relationships on screen and reference many things off-screen to show us how these relationships continue to build in between episodes.
Hardison and Parker are a canon couple and date in the show: it’s approached slowly and they are so goddamned sweet. They are basically every fluffy slow-burn trope with a healthy dash of mutual pining in the mix. They are basically that quote “love is patient, love is kind”. (I would like to add their romance never becomes the focus of the show or overrides the importance of any other relationship they have with the other characters, especially Eliot.)
Tumblr media
Hardison and Eliot are the Old Married Couple and from day one are already bickering and looking at each other/making comments that are found in every UST fic ever (not to mention Hardison has a very good knack for making Eliot grin like a little kid, when usually he’s basically an Angry Little Chef Man). They argue, they play, and love each other plain as day.
Tumblr media
Parker and Eliot are more subtle but every bit as wonderful. They have an unspoken connection and understand each other on a level no-one else can. Parker and Eliot are not good with giving themselves over to affection for different reasons (and Hardison plays a central role in helping them realise it’s okay to want it and have it- that boy has endless patience) but there is something so beautiful in the way the two of them come together on their own and develop their own special bond that works for them. Parker and Eliot are that trope where the characters don’t need to speak to understand each other perfectly. They just do. Their love language is a lot of the time non-verbal but speaks volumes. (Parker also likes to annoy the hell out of Eliot and Eliot....just.....lets...her. Because he’s soft. The softest, grumpiest boy.)
Tumblr media
I could go into so much depth for each pairing and their dynamics as a 3 but that's for another post.
3. Subverting stereotypes. There is the occasional hiccup in the show regarding stereotypes but ultimately, Leverage gets an A+ when it comes to writing characters and making them 3 dimensional people who are not defined by certain characteristics or events. Nate could so easily fall into the White Man Pain trope where he uses the trauma of losing his kid as a reason as to why he is entitled to act like a dick. Nate is a dick but he doesn’t use his pain to excuse it and I appreciate that. Hardison is a black man who is soft and nurturing. Easily the most empathetic and patient of the group. He’s nerdy, an actual genius, and has the biggest heart of all the characters. Nate is maybe the glue but Hardison is definitely the heart. Media’s usual aggressive, amongst other, racist stereotypes can fuck right off. Parker is canonically autistic (I am sure this was confirmed by one of the creators) and she is not defined by it. It’s not written as some kind of singular personality trait. It’s part of what makes up Parker but it’s only one facet of who she is and not once is her actions, thoughts or feelings treated like a joke. Sometimes people don’t understand why she does and says the things she does but it’s met with patience and fondness over the course of the show. Equally, it’s not met with over-caution. Parker is just Parker. No-one tries to change her. The other nice thing is Hardison, who always makes sure Parker knows she’s amazing because of who she is and not in spite of it. Finally, Sophie is in her 40s. She’s not treated like she’s past her prime. Ever. She’s sexy, smart and never is she pitted against or compared to Parker (who is younger) for anything. Sophie is amazing and there’s never even a conversation of “I may be older but I am still *insert adjective typically associated with younger women here*”. Sophie is possibly the first female character I’ve ever seen who isn’t just unapologetic about her age but has never had to apologise for her age. It’s a non-issue and that’s that. The women on the show are written so well, right down to secondary characters and it’s beyond refreshing.
Tumblr media
4.) It’s just fun. The show has a “monster of the week” type format. Except instead of a ghoul or a ghost, the monster is some corrupt wealthy and powerful individual or organisation. The show draws on real-life individuals to do this and therefore closely parallels real-life people and events. It addresses important political, economical, social and environmental issues while at the same time remaining fun and light-hearted. The characters constantly get the chance to play dress up and by GOD do they have fun with it. You get to watch Eliot beat up bad guys in the most delightful of ways, usually after a witty non-sequitur and with a weapon you’d never think could be a weapon. The dialogue and back and forth between the characters is everything. And finally - my favourite thing- the team can never resist striking a dramatic pose after they’ve taken down the bad guy, making sure the bad guy sees them. I mean, they COULD just walk away, satisfied they’ve taken the person down, but nope. They gotta be dramatic bitches 24/7 and pose like they are models for every single month of this year’s Criminal Calendar.
Tumblr media
5.) Competence Porn. So. Much. Competence Porn.
Tumblr media
Honestly, I could list a thousand reasons for why Leverage is amazing but to list them would to be spoiling so many amazing moments you’d get to discover for the first time on your own if you do choose to watch it. It’s the kind of show you can watch with an eagle-eye and sink your teeth into. But it’s also the kind of show if, you would prefer, put on in the background for something entertaining while you do something else. Each episode is about the job at hand but it’s made up of so many moments between the characters that show how much the creators and writers care about them. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll do whatever it is you do when something Soft and Wonderful happens that makes your heart melt. I am so beyond grateful for Leverage. It’s everything I always wanted in a show. Nearly every show I’ve watched in the past 10 years has disappointed me in some way, usually either because the writers run out of steam or characters who I love are treated poorly or given some kind of unnecessary “shock value” arc. Leverage doesn’t do that. Leverage is what it says on the bottle. Fandom isn’t something I joined because I needed canon fix-its. Fandom only enhances and celebrates an already excellent canon.
