In Love With A Mafia's Son?!
Tumblr media
Shy/Nerdy/Mafia Jimin x Chubby!Reader
Preview
Summary: Jimin seemed to be an ordinary nerd and shy kid in the public eye. But what they don't know is that he's a son of one of the most renounced Mafia gangs in the world. In which he comes with some of its perks. And he has only one prize his eyes he’s hoped for a very long time. It was time to take it.
“Can you be quiet?! We’re in the library and he’s going to hear your horny thoughts with that big mouth of yours.” I whispered yelled at her.
She scooted her seat towards me more.
“Was I really being that loud?”
I rolled my eyes, “Yes.”
“Y/n. I know you’ve never dated anyone- WHICH is not a bad thing, but you’re the only person who’s smart in dire situations as-“
“Just get to the point.”
“Y/n. Could you please please please PLEEASE come with me to a party?”
“You know-“
“Hang on a second. I just really need you there in case something happens. I’ve never been to this place before and I don’t want to go by myself if something does happen.”
“Let me guess. HE is going to be there.” I motioned my head over towards Taehyung, two tables away from us, having his nose in a book while writing notes. The only reason we’re in the library in the first place.
“Yes.”
“Kylena. I don’t want to be left by myself. ESPECIALLY in some stranger’s home. And I don’t think I can carry your drunk ass after it’s over. Plus, I don’t know how to drive a car. Have you forgotten?”
“Oh my god. Are you still living in the 20th century? We have Uber now. We can just use that to get back to my house.”
“If I go. Are you going to finally talk to him?”
She stared at me as if that was the wrong question to ask and she hesitantly answered, “Yes?”
“I’m not going.”
“Come on! I promise I will.”
“So you won’t get drunk instead this time?”
“Y/n!”
I just sat there emotionless. She took it as a sign that I still won’t go. At that same moment, someone else entered the library. My eyes widening when I seen him. I immediately grabbed my book I was reading from earlier and avoided eye contact. My cheeks started to feel hot every second.
“And you say I’m obvious when I’m around who I like.” Kylena snickers at me.
I kicked her underneath the table as she started to seethe. She rubs her ankle.
When I thought the coast was clear, I was mistaken when I catch a glimpse of Jimin staring at me as I see Taehyung talking to him. I moved quick on my feet as my body moved on its own. I packed all the stuff I had and quickly walked out of the library with Kylena staggering behind me.
“Girl, you need to chill. You act like he’s a ticking time bomb.”
Finally, we were back outside, but my feet never stopped moving. I felt a tug from behind me as Kylena pulls.
“Stop. We’re out of there now.”
My breathing was steady again without realizing I was breathing hard.
“Well, I have one more reason you should go to the party. Jimin is going to be there also.”
I felt a little pang of hope rise within me, but I was quickly shot down when the voices in my head led me on to overthinking. What if he thinks I’m there for him and thinks I’m a creep? What if he sees my body for the way it is? He probably doesn’t even know you exist Y/n.
“Y/n. Please don’t overthink this. Have you really not noticed the many times YOU yourself caught him staring at you? Because I have. If that isn’t a sign he’s interested in you, I don’t really know what the hell else it is.”
The bell rung. I tried to move past her, but she’s in my way. She stared at me. Waiting for an answer.
I huffed out, “Fine, I’ll go. But if you don’t talk to Taehyung in the first hour we are there, we’re leaving.”
“Deal.”
𑁍
Finally, English is the last class of the day. The only class I’d have most of my free time in since everybody else was behind on the same work from yesterday. I’m bummed that this is the only class that I don’t have Kylena with. I quickly went to my usual spot at the back of the classroom near the window.
A group of loud boys showed up. Usually the ones who talk non-stop. Thankfully an inventor created earbuds. Otherwise, I’d be miserable everyday an hour before school was over. I searched through my backpack for them. I felt nothing and looked inside all the pockets. I just had them earlier where did they-
My earbuds appeared on my desk as someone’s hand moved away. I looked up and froze once as I see Jimin once again. My eyes followed his back as he silently went to his seat. I felt my cheeks getting hot again. Don’t overthink it Y/n. It was just a nice gestures as always. I slumped back in my chair at the thought and continued to put my earbuds in.
Me and Jimin had been in the same class when he first showed up in first grade. At first, he didn’t really get along with anyone. He was a foreigner and had barely spoken any English. Thankfully, he had someone who spoke his language and that was Taehyung. Taehyung had always been adored by everyone. Which makes sense as I never had anything bad to say about him. I had never paid any attention to him or Taehyung until our eighth grade year.
Bullying had taken a toll on me since middle school started. Kids had picked on me only for my weight and height. During those times I had barely seen Jimin around since he was usually on a different schedule than me. During that year, I suddenly had most of my classes with him.
The specific incident that had started my liking towards him was when, well, you guessed it. Bullying. Being bullied by the same boys who are obnoxiously loud coming into class. Causing me to feel lonely most of the time.
It began in the lunchroom. I had barely gone to the cafeteria for lunch because of those boys. And I only ever went if I was really hungry. If I was lucky enough to eat anything that is. It was one of those days that I became hungry. I finally mustered up the courage to eat in the cafeteria. The boys were at the front of the lunch line while I stayed at the very back where they couldn’t see me. After getting my lunch, I looked to the far back of the cafeteria for an empty table.
Apparently, the boys had spotted me way before then. Already tripping me on purpose. Food getting all over me in the process. No teachers being seen anywhere. Everyone was staring as the boys were mostly loud. Laughing at me. The first boy yanked my hair as he made everyone see my face that had food all over it. They kept calling me names that I’ve heard many times before and their laughs kept getting louder. I tried to hold in my tears.
Jimin had pushed the boy who started to kick me in my side. The rage on his face evident. I flinched when I felt someone trying to help me up. It was Taehyung. Embarrassment and relief had start to wash over me. One of the boys charged at Jimin. He dodged and at the same time been able to kick him to the ground. The boy groaning in pain. I looked down in shame. Being ashamed that I couldn’t be the one to just help myself and not have someone else stepping in for me. Then I hear the very words I’ll never forget from Jimin.
“Lay another finger on her and I promise I’ll turn your lives into a living hell. I’m guessing your parents had taught you nothing of respect for others.”
When I first seen them, they didn’t seem to take Jimin’s words seriously. Before Taehyung could even ask if I was alright, I had already ran out of campus and headed home that day. Crying myself to sleep. The next day I had expected the boys to bring rain of terror on me about what happened. When they seen me, they acted as if I didn’t exist at all. Which still confuses me still to this day since I had seen their expressions from earlier. But I’m not complaining.
That was how we first met. Since then, I’ve been avoiding him. I had been trying to avoid Taehyung, too. But that had gotten harder for me since Kylena had started to have a crush on him. At least she tries to go after what she wants. Instead of me, avoiding Jimin as best as I can. Why . . . I’m just not ready to confess just yet.
The bell had rung and I swiftly left the classroom. I accidentally bumped into Taehyung on my way out. I avoided his stare, “Sorry,” I said to him. Before I could leave again, Taehyung tugged on to my arm. What the-
“Wait a second. I have some questions for you.” He said sternly as if I said something wrong. Confusion and fear evident on my face. He started to chuckle then laugh aloud as if I had said something funny just now.
“I’m only kidding, Y/n. Are you okay?” As if this couldn’t feel anymore awkward, I seen Jimin staring at the whole situation while he was the last to make it out of the doorway. Taehyung let go of me.
“Jimin, look who I ran into finally.”
Jimin looked as if he was stunned while looking at me. As if it’s the first time he’s seen me. I avoided eye contact once again. I’d seen others walking past me as if I had entered into the wrong territory. I looked up at Jimin as this was going to be the last time I’ll see him up close. He opens his mouth to speak but nothing came out. I quickly turned around to go outside again. This time Taehyung leaving me be. I hear a loud sigh before I left the hallway and chose to ignore it. I made it out of the building ready to go home. I see Kylena up ahead. She finally spotted me.
“What took you so long?” She raised an eyebrow.
“Nothing. Let’s just go.”
She looks around and catches glimpses of people staring our way.
“Why is everyone staring at us as if we’re animals in the wild?” She whispers.
“Just ignore them.” I say.
“Oh my gosh! Why are they walking towards our way?!” I jump by her sudden yelling. Second hand embarrassment crept to my face as I see both of them once again. God, I hope they didn’t see that, and it worsens as I left them behind without a single word just minutes before.
“Let’s hurry up and leave-“
She tugs my arm into place, “Not this time. Taehyung is coming this way.” She wasn’t going to budge any time soon as I look down in defeat.
Their footsteps were coming closer and I decided to hide a little behind her. I look up a tiny bit and see Jimin was also walking behind Taehyung as if he was hiding. What the hell is he hiding from?! I felt my palms starting to sweat as I hold onto my backpack straps out of nervousness.
“Hey, Y/n.” Taehyung smiles. She looks at me confused when he says that.
“H-Hi?” I said. Confusion hinted in my voice as well.
“And you’re Kylena, correct?” He smiles at her politely.
She hurries to collect herself and let’s go of my hand, “Correct. I wouldn’t expect you to know who I was.” She goes quiet.
“We’ve been in the same grades together for a few years. I would hope so.”
While Kylena melts in Taehyung’s presence, Jimin had continued to stare at me past his shoulder. He moves side to side every now and again. Indicating if he should move or not. Instead he nudges Taehyung to stop the conversation.
“My bad. Well, ladies. Me and-“ He drags Jimin to his side, “my friend Jimin here are wondering if you’d like to come to my party tonight. Daniel’s party has been shut down since his parents found out about the rumor. I’m hosting one in honor of him. What do you say?” He smirks at us as Jimin stared down at the ground avoiding eye contact.
With no hesitation of course she’d say yes. Without changing my mind once again I agreed also only for her.
“Great. Kylena, do you mind if I talk to you for a minute? Great.” He swiftly takes her arm in his as he leaves Jimin and me behind.
Anxiety starts to kick in as I begin to feel frantic. We stand there awkwardly for a moment before he shakes his head as if snapping himself out of something. He cautiously walks towards me as he stood close enough.
“Hi, Y/n. I’m Jimin, if you don’t exactly remember.” Nervousness was evident in his voice as he scratched the back of his head. Still avoiding eye contact.
“I do remember you.” I quickly tell him.
“You do?” Hope flowed quick in his eyes.
“I do.” I take small steps back without him noticing.
He wanted to say more but didn’t push any further.
“Anyways, I hope you do come tonight. I’d appreciate it if you did.” He looks away nervously.
My breathe hitches at the sight of his rosy cheeks and his ears turning red. It can’t be. He doesn’t even know me. How is this possible? I couldn’t tell what state I felt (I do but I’m not going to admit it).
“I’ll be there.” I said as a fact and not because he asked me to.
He pushes his glasses up as Kylena was coming back.
“See you then.” He says as he walks off back to Taehyung.
I stand there dumbfounded as she runs up to me spewing things so quickly I couldn’t understand it.
“Woah, slow down. You’re not making any sense.”
She stops herself as she breathes in and out slowly before speaking, “Taehyung just asked me on a date this weekend oh my fucking god! Y/n! Do you know what this means?!”
She starts shaking my shoulders out of excitement. I shake her off of me.
“Okay, I get it. Calm down.” I roll my eyes at her.
Her head was up in the clouds. I snap her out of it.
“Take me home. Please.”
She scoffs, “Fine.”
We get in her car as she drives off. It was silent which was fine by me. Only she kept smiling towards my way suspiciously.
“What do you want?” I say annoyed.
“So, what did you and Jimin say to each other?”
I immediately look out the window without her looking at my face. My face heating up by the second.
“Nothing. All he said was he’d like for me to be there basically. Nothing special.”
“Be fucking for real right now Y/n. You’re literally lying to yourself at this point.” She scoffs.
I roll my eyes, “It’s whatever.”
“Y/n, I’ve had enough with your moping. You finally have a real chance that comes along and you just want to ignore it? Make it make sense. You can’t. Now get grip of yourself.” She says sternly.
I sigh, “You’re right. Maybe … it is a chance.” I start to smile to myself.
“Yeah. Time to take some action tonight. If you know what I mean.” She teases while wiggling her eyebrows.
“Cut it out.” I laugh.
“You never know. Besides, we’re both in the same boat. So we won’t be that alone, you know?”
“I guess you’re right.”
“Oh honey I know I am.” She says with a southern old lady accent.
We take a turn that I notice doesn’t lead to my house. I look at her confused, “That’s not the way to my house.”
“One thing’s for sure, Y/n. I can tell you do not have anything nice to wear for tonight. So we’re going shopping.” She smirks.
“No! Not shopping!” I whine as I sink in my seat.
“It won’t be that bad.” She rolls her eyes.

Given the bullshit going on in the Supreme Court right now, I did a little cut-n-paste….
Anyone with a uterus should take the following precautions and advise family and friends to do the same.
Make Sure Your Birth Control Schedule is Set for the Future
Get your birth control automated and take back control. First, research all your options like pill, patch, ring, implant, or shot. From there, you can get information from trusted birth control websites like Planned Parenthood, Pandia Health, or a .edu. Once you determine which birth control you want to use, check whether you can get it delivered. For instance, you can get the pill delivered right to your mailbox when signing up with Pandia Health.
Get Emergency Contraception Ahead of Need
Accidents happen! Being extra prepared is never a bad idea. Get emergency contraception in order to terminate an accidental pregnancy. Also, know that Plan B and its generics do NOT work for individuals with a BMI of 26 or greater. The IUD also acts as effective birth control to block pregnancy ahead of an accident. There are two types: hormonal IUDs (Mirena, Liletta, Kylena, Skyla) and copper IUDs (Paraguard). Buying emergency contraception or getting an IUD as soon as possible are effective ways to prevent pregnancy from occurring, especially as demand increases due to predicted restricted access to abortion.
Consider skipping the placebo pills (a.k.a those that don’t contain hormones) and taking the active pills continuously. When there is no drop in hormones, bleeding will not occur, which is not only convenient but also beneficial for your health. Skipping your period decreases your risk of developing ovarian & endometrial cancer. Additionally, the fewer period products you use, the less you contribute to landfills.

KYGO & SELENA GOMEZ - IT AIN'T ME [4.91] If not you, then whom?
Sophia Clara: The great thing about Selena is that her voice never sounds practiced or polished, no matter how shiny the production is over top of it. Just this perpetually needy thread at the core of any music she puts out, always sounds like she's about to cry. From that voice, "who's gonna walk you through the dark side of the morning" sounds almost as if it might be something, might mean something. From that voice, "I had a dream we were back at seventeen" almost manages a genuine melancholy, a real deep gray sadness. Doesn't matter how insipid the line about polaroids ultimately ends up being; there's the way Selena half-stumbles, how her voice swallows up the words. It's just sad that that voice isn't in a better song. [6]
David Sheffieck: Thematically this works as a neat counterbalance to the scummy, idyllic relationships depicted by The Inescapable Chainsmokers, tossing off an insouciant dismissal and rejection as the vocal building block of its climax. And Gomez does an impressive job imbuing her part with an undercurrent of desperation in the places where she isn't chopped into syllables. But the pieces never add up, as Kygo keeps the song in a state of flux too long for any single thing to really land, or to develop enough to resonate. In three-plus minutes it manages to sound like it's getting older, while its main influence hasn't yet. [6]
Alfred Soto: This mishmash of fourthhand Dylanisms and electronic pop signposts boasts a radiant keyboard part and a vocalist making sense of what she's singing. If the morning has a dark side, I'd like to see it. [4]
Iain Mew: The European dance hit this most reminds me of is Lost Frequencies' "Are You With Me" -- "It Ain't Me" sounds like it, too, might have been sampled from half a country record. It stands out from current trends as a result, but it leans on just enough narrative for its lack of any depth to stand out, an emphasis magnified by Selena Gomez reading it for emotion more than power. [4]
Mark Sinker: I'm a sucker for anything glitchy, to be honest, even badly applied stunt-glitch -- and I suppose you could argue the effects are hinting that Selena's permutations on "yay I changed that stupid lock" are secretly a bit protest-too-much. But it doesn't really work. Pretty tune, but that wouldn't be enough on its own either. [4]
Adaora Ede: Sometimes I wish Selena Gomez would just Ed Sheeran her way into edgy contemp RnB ft. trend rapper because her past attempts at honing her place in the sphere of mass pop EDM have felt woefully inefficacious. "It Ain't Me" feels like what would happen if Selena got a little too settled into her Tropical Home. But luckily, someone's bought an acoustic and some Grouplove esque chanting to this housewarming party! For what weaves in and out of choppy contrived techno, Selgo/Kylena create the slightest l'espirit escalier in the powerful narrative and pop rock. [6]
Will Adams: I like that "whiskey neat" made it into the chopped vocal hook; apart from that, "It Ain't Me" is drab. Kygo's production remains unchanged (i.e. he continues to sound like slowed-down Avicii) while Gomez's vocal limitations are on full display as the choir crowds her out the more she sings. [4]
Katherine St Asaph: Much as music writers strain for poetry as they produce Kygo blurbs, jobbing pop songwriters usually relish the chance to show craft. "It Ain't Me" writer Ali Tamposi is better known for platitudinous stuff like "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)" and deep Beyonce cut "Save the Hero," but "It Ain't Me" is the kind of portfolio piece that's its own template: conspicuously concrete details in the verses, concise and decisive chorus, some indie-rock band dropped in for specificity, maybe even a Bob Dylan flip (not even "legit" singer-songwriters can resist). The standoffishness of Dylan's original might work for someone like Rihanna, or maybe Kehlani if she didn't write her own material. But this is a Selena Gomez hook on a tropical house track, so they've got to simplify: lightly chiding a douchebag who probably doesn't give a shit who walks him through the dark side of the morning as long as he can bang. Oh well. At least "Bowery" and "whiskey neat" sound more interesting when snippetized than your standard vocalise. [5]
Ramzi Awn: Selena embraces her World Cup stamina on this crowdsourced single built for a Samsung feature. The blips and bleeps come out of nowhere, and ultimately, "It Ain't Me" makes poor use of a rich voice. [2]
Scott Mildenhall: Of all the people and places to bolster the mythology of The Libertines, "a Kygo song" and Selena Gomez are not the most obvious. Perhaps if this goes well, her next single will espouse the delights of Skins. Unfortunately, as much as this tries to be affecting, such specifics aren't as Proustian as they maybe want to be -- the Bowery probably chimes with even less people than Pete Doherty. It's not that you necessarily need knowledge of them to access "It Ain't Me"'s emotion, but it doesn't offer many other opportunities. [5]
Joshua Copperman: One of the good things about the massive success of "Closer" is that there seems to be a bigger effort to work some traditional songwriting tropes into EDM songs, rather than the words just serving as filler until the beat drops. This is one of the more successful examples - even as it doesn't necessarily sound like "Closer", "It Ain't Me" does have some of the same lyrical specificity, and even improves on it in many regards - not much about the lyrics feel forced at all, even the references to the Bowery and, if I'm hearing this right, the Libertines. Even the chipmunk voice section has more pathos than usual - it pops right out of the mix, and the way the lyrics are just barely intelligible ("dup-dup-deg-bOWrry, dup-dup-deg-wrSkiNEEt") gives the vivid image of Selena's relationship flashing by her as she's finally letting go. This all pays off in a wonderful moment toward the end where real Selena begins to harmonize with chipmunk Selena during an extended drop section. I still wish I saw what everyone else saw in "Closer" while that was at its peak, but a song like "It Ain't Me" gives me a sense of that feeling. [8]

Selena Gomez Makes Sweet Tropical Magic With Kygo On ‘It Ain’t Me’!
Selena Gomez, queen of killin’ em with kindness, and Kygo, of “Firestone” and “Stole The Show” tropical dance-pop greatness, have been teasing their collaboration, “It Ain’t Me,” for what feels like years now on Instagram.
The two talented hit-makers planned to premiere their new tune today (February 16), and as promised, it’s here in its full glroy.
The tune is thoroughly a Kygo production, following the same tropical beat breakdown build-up atheistic we’ve all grown to love from the master crafter. Selena on the other hand sounds legitimately good as she croons about a past lover on top of Kygo‘s pulsating, poolside-ready beats. “Who’s waking up to drive you home/ When you’re drunk and all alone?/ Who’s gonna walk you/ Through the dark side of the morning?/ It ain’t me.” The distant howls towards the end are especially infectious and a nice additional plus. But if I’m being honest….
For a “brand new stand-alone” Kygo production, it’s solid and sweet but far from groundbreaking, placing it firmly in the running for widespread radio adoption but far from SMASH title status. It’s no “Stole The Show,” nor is it a “Hands To Myself,” but it’ll definitely do, Kylena. What do you guys think?
