Hey! Idk if you write for the Wammy’s house boys (L, Near, Matt and Mello) from Death Note, but if you do, could I request them (separately) with a S/O who is really clumsy, and gets hurt a lot?

Hello friend! Thank you for this cute request! Absolutely, though to be honest I can't really remember a whole lot about Matt! I'm in the process of rewatching & re-reading the series after maaany many years and I don't wanna half-ass it! So for now I will just right for the other three, and I'll try to do something for Matt in the future once I have a better understanding of him. Mello ★ He actually cringes whenever you happen to fall down. He doesn't like seeing you get hurt, but it also annoys him because it makes him worry too much.

★ Mello's a bit dramatic (hurrhurr) and might make a bigger deal out of you falling than it needs to be.

★ He will most definitely scold you, raising his voice a little; "Why can't you watch where you're going?! Be careful, you're gonna give me a heart attack."

★ If need be, Mello will bandage you up and tend to your wounds - cleaning them, as he continues to scold you and complain for you getting hurt in the first place.

★ He's not mad because it's an inconvenience to him or anything, he just feels bad.

Near

★ Will barely flinch if you happen to be clumsy, or get hurt. It's not that he doesn't care about you - it's just, he knows you're not in any immediate danger, and whatever "injuries" you sustain it's not life-threatening, or fatal - so why would he worry? He does care, he just won't get riled up over something small that happens to be natural to you.

★ Mostly unmoved and unsurprised by your clumsiness - especially if he's known you, and loved you for a long time.

★ If it was from your own carelessness, Near would say something along the lines of, "Well, that's what happens when you don't look where you're going, I guess."

★ To be honest most of your injuries are due to you tripping over his toys, that he leaves lying around like a child. You've stepped on more legos and tripped over more Betty Spaghettis' due to this prick. Just tell him to clean up his toys.

★ If you want to actually get a reaction of him for kicks, you could pretend to actually be serious hurt but please don't!!! You'll hurt his feelings - him baby.

★ Now if you actually do get seriously hurt, such as falling so hard that you draw blood or you make a loud thump, Near will walk over to you and be gentle. He'll ask what happened and then assess what you need - made a bandage, or an ice pack - and come back with it. He'll get what you need but not really attending to the injury himself - just gives you what you need and then stays by your side.

★ After you're all set, he will stay next to you. One hand on his favorite toy of the day as he plays, the other hand either playing with your hair or gently caressing the wound.

★ Brings you one of his favorite toys as well, to make you feel better. They help him, so he thinks they'll help you, too.

Isn't this wholesome?

L Lawliet

★ L is also not too surprised by your clumsiness, but it does concern him a bit more.

★ He's attentive...I can see him asking Watari to almost "childproof" any particular items that you might bump into/get hurt on more often. Keep hitting yourself over one particular table? Welp, that's now gone. Time to get a new one!

★ If you trip and/or slip a lot, then he will find a solution. If it means buying you new shoes and demanding you wear them, then so be it.

★ Would casually tease you about it and make harmless jokes at your expense - within reason; "Oh, keep an eye on your cake - last time Y/N bumped into the table and knocked mine over. I was very upset."

★ I can see him making a game out of it and trying to make bets with you. He'll tell you that he'll reward you if you manage to go an entire day without tripping, bumping into something, etc. and you will promptly be rewarded with...sweets. But you should honestly demand cuddles, instead.

“Mom” - Matt, Mello, Near (L x Reader)

Note: I don't mean to make these female only but I've used the word mom for reader

Anime: Death Note

It took time for the boys to really warm up to you. Mello more so than Near, he remembered their mother more after all, how she no longer wanted, and then abandoned them.

Mail Jeevas

Matt took to you right away the first time you met him when you visited Wammy's house, since he'd decided L would be his dad as well once he'd become best friends with Mello, that meant you'd be his mom then, right?

You and L had just walked through the doors with Mello and Near when Matt, (who you instantly recognized with the redish hair and striped shirt, not to mention Mello talking about him so much) ran up to you, barely stopping with a happy shout of

"Hi dad! Hi ma! c'mon Mells I gotta show ya something" before grabbing Mello's hand and dragging him off.

You stood there gripping L’s hand tightly and smiling until Near tugged on your shirt and pulled you out of your happy little reverie.

Mihael Keehl

L had been busy working on a case so you decided to take the boys out for the day, and a park that was currently resident to an over-the-top ice cream truck was your surprise destination.

To keep a small surprise you asked Mello and Near to wait at a bench along the sunny park pathway, having clued Matt in on your plan and him gleefully racing ahead of you towards the truck to collect everyone’s treats.

You knew you’d done good by Mello alone when his eyes met with the ridiculously fancy, chocolate decorated wonder ready to spill from its’ double dipped and sprinkle covered cone.

Wide eyed and filled with wonder as he carefully reaches for the treat “Thanks mom.”

You freeze staring at him, chocolate already smeared on his face and a happy smile, when you don’t hand him his, Near comes up and takes the other cone from your hand and sits on the bench to eat with his brother.

When Mello notices you’re not moving he scowls “What are you looking at-”

It’s almost a look of horror that covers his face, ears burning red as soon as he realizes his slip-up, and the look of fondness on your face isn’t helping him as he replays his own words in his head.

The hand not holding his ice cream fists in his shirt as tightly as he can, he stares at his feet as tears blur his vision, his tiny form shaking as he tries not to make a sound.

You don’t say anything, eyes softening at the poor boy and carefully take the ice cream from his hand and lets go with surprising ease, instead turning to furiously attempting to wipe his onslaught of tears with both hands

Your free hand gently starts to pet his hair and he goes rigid at the contact, sniffling and confused before his cries come back and buries his face against your side while you rub his back.

Nate River

It was when Near was sick, the poor boy had been given a nasty cold from one of the other kids and was miserable. So you'd decided to stay at Wammy's for a few days, taking residence in L's unoccupied room, to help take care of him.

And if being sick to his stomach wasn't bad enough, it was storming out. Rain pounding against every window and trees flailing in the winds. Storms had terrified Near at night for as long as he could remember.

In the day light they weren't bad, then he could just take some of his toys and sit in the light wherever Mello was. But he was sick, he couldn't go hide in bed with Mello, but the thunder was so loud, the lightning flashed illuminating the room before plunging it back into darkness.

If his throat hadn't been so sore he would've screamed when he heard his door creaking open a moment after the lightning. Near pulled the blankets up over his head to hide while holding a random stuffy for protection.

"Near? sweetie are you alright?" your soft concerned voice was enough to make him peak out from the blanket

"(Y-y/n)?" his voice sounded like a croak between being raw from his cold and crying.

"Oh baby," taking in the sight of him curled up and terrified you walked over to the bed, Near scooched over to make room for you next to him.

He curled closer to you when the next boom of thunder rattled the building, small hands clinging to your shirt and sobs wracking his body while you tried to comfort him, rubbing his back soothingly and humming quietly.

"Please Mommy," he pleaded desperately "please don't leave us all alone too"

"You-" hiccup "'re not gonna forget us right?" his words shocked you, and your heart broke.

"Sh sh sh" you held him tighter when he started crying harder "It's ok Near, I'm right here. I'm not going to leave you" you pull him up and maneuvered yourself so you both were laying on the bed, hugging the small boy against you while he cried.

"Don't leave" he choked quietly.

It was a short while later and Near seemed to be calmed down, overly worn out now that the storm seemed to finally be passing.

Midnight Shift: Carry On, Citizen Fang

Straight Kevin had been very understanding about my family emergency – He was super duper cool with manning the restaurant all by his lonesome. Sadly, he wasn't understanding enough to let me get away with not telling Gay Kevin about it – which wasn't very super duper cool of him, now was it?

He didn't even have the decency to offer to call for me, the fucking coward.

"Are you certain it's an emergency?"

I rolled my eyes and skipped over the muddy snow pile blocking the sidewalk. I felt a sense of kinship with the season. Besides the cold and death, Winter went all out when it came to inconveniencing the population.

"Trust me, Kev. If I wanted to blow off work, I'd do it on location. I'm not exactly in a rush to get home, ya know?"

The line went quiet for exactly five seconds and I could picture him doing that breathing exercise he did whenever he was fed up with my shit. I took the opportunity to loudly slurp my mello yello.

Delicious.

"I don't know, you could be ditching to hang out with friends or something. Teens do that. I did that." I almost laughed, as if.

"I spend all of my free time at work and everyone my age thinks I'm pregnant with an incest baby. Bold of you to assume I even have friends."

"You would get friends if you felt like it would inconvenience me. And it would really inconvenience me right now"

"Ugh. Don't be so dramatic. I don't do things just to be a general nuisance," I heard a snort that didn't come from Gay Kevin. "Wait, did you put me on speaker?!"

"What's the word, Res" Not Kevin chimed in before being shushed by Gay Kevin.

"Relax, we're loading the rental. I don't exactly have a free hand."

"So? This only needed to be like two seconds. Take a five or something."

"I'm going to level with you, our new napkin guy gives me real sketch vibes. Any second where we're not loading, it's an additional second we have to spend here. I simply refuse to die in a dilapidated warehouse, Resentment. I refuse."

I crossed the street to take the park shortcut home. A couple of high schoolers were vaping by the swings; they stared at me and I ignored them.

"I think you'd survive. You exude final girl energy"

"Have you ever watched a horror movie? I'd literally die first"

"I watched Practical Magic once" I smirked when Not Kevin groaned.

My satisfaction didn't last long, because no more than a second later, a snowball hit the back of my head. I took a deep breath and reminded myself that I couldn't gloat to Edward about having the moral high ground if I murdered every minor annoyance that crossed my path.

It just sucked having to ignore my vampire senses because I had to play human. What was the point of knowing something was coming if you were unable to stop it because you had to keep up appearances? In my opinion, humans should just have to deal with the knowledge of the supernatural. They were big kids, we didn't need to coddle them anymore.

It was 2022, for God's sake.

I turned back scowling and flipped off the fuckers. I recognized High-Pony in the group and decided to give her the soggiest, saddest, AND smallest fries next time she dared enter my work.

Maybe even sprinkle some burnt ones for extra flavor.

"I know what you're doing and I'm begging you to stop. I'm the one who has to deal with him for the next two hours"

"Don't be rude. Not Kevin is a gift," I glared at the group and slowly walked away backwards. At least until they were out of my sight. The Cullens were insane for going back to high school as often as they did.

"Ha. It's nice to be appreciated"

"Truly. Short of a museum, where else are you going to find something so old?"

"Boo. Get new jokes, the material is stale," I rolled my eyes as I shook the snow from my hair. I was rapidly approaching home and I wasn't quite prepared to go in.

For one, how was I supposed to keep my new mystery to myself if that's what Alice saw? It wasn't fair. To think I had only been worried about Big Brother and his thought police...

Reflecting on it though, if Alice saw my mystery man, then wouldn't that mean he was either a vampire or a human? Ergo, something neither mysterious nor interesting.

Disappointing.

"Whatever, gramps"

"Ok, ok. Let's get back on topic –"

"You gotta start trying harder, Chucky. You're far from the only teen girl that calls me ancient on the regular."

"Why are you regularly taking to teenage girls, creep?"

"Guys –"

"That's not what–! I foster kids!"

"Yeah, sure, pervert"

"I'm NOT –"

"OK RESENTMENT, DEAL WITH YOUR FAMILY. HANGING UP NOW"

I stopped walking and stared at my phone. Despite the length of the call, there had been no new messages from my family. I was unsure if that was a good sign.

I took a sip from my drink and was disappointed to find I only had ice left. I wondered if that was thematically significant, or maybe even foreshadowing.

Sigh.

I picked up my pace and tried to empty my mind before arriving home. "No thoughts, head empty" was a good mantra when you lived with a mind reader.

The rest of the walk was fairly uneventful, save for some guy who got attacked by a flock of ducks for getting way too close without enough food. Beware, all amateur wildlife photographers, lest the same fate falls upon you, I guess.

Poor guy even lost his coat. I was happy to assume it was the first casualty under the duck assault.

I slowed down when I finally arrived across the street from my home. The newest Cullen mansion stood foreboding before me. A concrete monument full of sharp lines and odd angles; despite all of Esme's soft touches, brutalism simply exuded hostility and soullessness. Try as she might, there was a limit to how much you could dress up a giant grey concrete block to make it look approachable – and if we were being honest, it wasn't working.

How's that for a metaphor?

Well. There was no use delaying the inevitable.

I entered the house.

[Scene Break]

Being a half-vampire meant that I always felt at a misstep with everyone around me. To me, humanity was more of a scientific field of study that I took interest in and less of a dearly held-on memento of a bygone era or something that I simply had.

From the vampire side of things, while I was clearly an abomination, my existence didn't require me to be a parasitic blood freak. That put me in a different head space from the rest of my family. For one, I didn't need to agonize over my monstrous nature; secondly, I wasn't a slave to my bloodlust if I kept myself full of human food; and thirdly, there just wasn't much precedent for me to measure up to.

For all we knew, everything I did was the best I could have done.

That was all to say, I always felt like there was something I was missing when interacting with anyone. My point of view was fundamentally a different one, and though some things I could make sense of theoretically, it wasn't the same as first-hand experience.

Standing in the living room, surrounded by my family as they continued to say nothing, I couldn't help but think that perhaps this time the context I was missing had nothing to do with my hybrid status.

Edward paced while looking constipated but everyone else stood motionless and rigidly like the statues they were. Not even Emmett tried to lighten the mood, and that's how you knew it was serious.

"So who's going to who's funeral? Please don't say any of my coworkers, I've grown quite attached to them"

"Renesmee," Edward warned. I ignore him like he ignored my preferred name.

"Is it you pops? Wanna crack open another high school girl and drink her up like grape soda?"

"For once in your life could you stop acting like a brat?" Edward snapped and I flinched.

"Takes one to know one. Maybe if you didn't raise one you wouldn't have to deal with one, dad"

"Enough!" We both turned to look at Carlisle and I could see how unsettled he was. My stomach churned.

"Maybe my vision was wrong. Maybe it wasn't him," Alice sounded desperate, almost like the time the truck transporting her latest Givenchy haul got into a freak accident and the customer service lady told her they couldn't replace her order until after whatever microtrend that had been happening at the time ended.

"No, Alice. I saw your vision. It was. No doubt about it, that face is burned in my memory"

"It just doesn't make any sense, Edward!"

"I know what I saw," he replied forcefully.

Carlisle rubbed at his eyes, and for the briefest of seconds, you could have mistaken him for human.

"What's going on? You guys are scaring me," nothing felt right and all I wanted to do was to get back to the Burger King. At least the Kevins kept me in the loop when potentially life-threatening stuff happened.

"James is back," Bella whispered and I looked at her. Out of all of the Cullens, she looked the least worried. While everyone else's expressions visibly darkened at hearing the name, Bella said the name like she would say any name that wasn't Edward's.

"Who the fuck is James?"

"He was a vampire," Jasper growled.

"So what's the big deal? I don't know if you have noticed, but all of you are vampires"

"Emphasis on the was, Nessie. We ripped apart the bastard a good 16 years ago," Emmet explained. I raised my eyebrow.

"You sure about that? Last I heard, once you killed the undead, they were dead for good. No such thing as an undead undead."

"Oh, damn sure. We tore into him like frenzied piranhas at lunchtime and then lit him like a firework on the Fourth of July," Rosalie lightly hit his arm.

"You don't have to be so graphic about it"

"So it's obviously not him," Edward made a noise filled with frustration.

"Renesmee, I know what I saw. It was him, I would bet my life on it"

"Would you bet Bella's?" was what I almost said but Edward's glare made me reconsider. Just this once.

"Dead people just don't walk around all over the place," I said instead.

"We do," Emmett chimed in.

"We're different!"

"So why not him?"

"Edward is right," Classic Carl Carlisle move. His Golden Child could never be wrong. "I might have heard of something like this happening before."

There was a brief moment of silence before everyone exploded.

"WHAT?!"

Carlisle sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"You have to understand, I couldn't verify it at the time."

When he said nothing, Esme made a "well, go on" motion.

"It happened about a decade ago. I only came upon this information because of Eleazar – he had approached me about it because he thought I was involved," Carlisle walked towards a window and stared into the distance like the dramatic bitch he was.

Edward slapped the back of my head.

"He told me heard of rumors of a vampire that had died 50 years ago and who walked the Earth again. You all know about my passion for Theology and my desire to find out what waits for us on the other side, so I promised to look into it. It took a while, but eventually, I heard back from someone"

"Your trip to Carencro," Esme gasped. "You said it was a conference!"

"When was this, I don't remember this?" Carl was holding back no punches in his dramatic reveal.

"It was our semester abroad," that's what Edward like to call the half a year experiment we spent in France. He wanted to see if Bella, him, and I could be a family unit all on our own.

It failed pretty miserably, would never happen again.

"I didn't want to burden you, love. Not unless I knew for sure."

Rosalie rolled her eyes. "So what happened?"

Carlisle turned back to us and shrugged.

"I met my informant and they told me to go to this one cafe and ask for Roy. I went there and the manager told me no one with that name worked there"

"So you got pranked," Emmet said.

"I looked around town for a couple of days, and since nothing else came up after my trip to Lousiana, I felt comfortable labeling the whole thing a hoax."

Rosalie scoffed. "And you think that's what's happening here?"

"I think it could be a possibility. This is our only lead"

I thought over what Carlisle just said. Could there really be an afterlife vampires could come back from? And if that was the case, then what happened to Roy? Was Roy even the vampire Elezear heard about?

But most importantly, why now?

"Hey, Alice. Besides James, what else did you see?"

Everyone went quiet and I looked back at them confused.

"I saw us without you"

"I mean, you don't really see me in your visions," I chuckled nervously.

"When I don't see you, it's like I'm looking around something. What I saw...it felt like I would never have to deal with that interference again."

"...Oh"

That didn't sound good.

share a funny roleplay horror story : recently an admin of a twitter rp tried to use my male muse for their weird ship narrative. they tried to make him look like an asshole (& i do play assholes but this one wasn’t one) + used another male muse to make it seem as if these two boys were fighting over the person’s girl, even though she actually had a ship all lined up. they were also running the gossip twitter, so they made up a bunch of stuff about our muses without our consent and consequently i told them to fuck off, and both of us left the group. then she had no more “groupies” so she cuffed and the group closed two days later. it was petty hilarious.

fondest roleplay memory : once in an OC group, i wasn’t “technically” doing a ship with a friend, even though the characters had feelings for each other. but for some reason the status of their relationship was a hot topic group wide, meaning everybody had their nose in it and wanting to know what’s up, so they publically kept doing things to make people think they’re together while denying it in the same breath. it was really fun to let it play out like that.

Happ Birth

It’s my darling @dreamyvamp ‘s birthday, so I of course need to offer him tribute.

He doesn’t believe it when he opens the door. “I told ya, I’ll get you the rent, I pro-” It isn’t his landlord sitting there. The old guy had been harassing him about the rent for a while, Matt was expecting a visit from him, but he definitely wasn’t blond with blue eyes sharp enough to be ice picks.

That was all Mello, only Mello.

Mello doesn’t move an inch, just stares at him with an unimpressed look that’s entirely marred by the still-fresh burn scar. Matt’s sorely tempted to close the door. No, Matt does close the door, with a loud slam, but swings it open again a moment later. Not a hallucination. There’s a gun pointed between pretty blue eyes.

“The fuck ‘re you doing here? You’re an ass.”

Mello’s mouth opens, but Matt grabs a tan arm and pulls both of them into the apartment before a single word can escape. “No, shut up. Figures you’d show up just in time for me t’ clean you up...” And he grumbles the whole time, as he doses Mello up with all the drugs he can find, as he washes and cleans the horrific burns that mean Mello won’t ever be pretty again, as he wraps them and watches blue eyes flutter closed. Mello falls asleep.

Matt checks the door, makes sure it’s locked, and lights up a cigarette. He’s been trying to quit, but only in the back of his mind. This is going to be a long week, if this is what Monday looks like.

Tokyo Ghoul / Tokyo Ghoul: re.

I love Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul:re so freaking much, I can't say the anime adaptation is the best because unfortunately it isn't, however I decided to enjoy it for what it's worth, the manga on the other hand is a master piece and I totally recommend it! Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul: re have a very special place in my heart, the whole story is packed with social critics, questions of morality and the representation of different mental health issues that are very familiar to many of us in real life, therefore it's dark, tragic and very raw in nature but that's exactly what I love so much about it. The characters are incredibly well written and you always end up relating and seeing yourself in at least a few of them and their struggles, it feels very authentic, it's definitely remarkable and it creates an impact on the viewer/reader or at least it did on me.

Death Note.

Oh dear, I love Death Note so much! Where do I start? I still remember the very first time I read/watched Death Note, it took me on a rollercoaster of emotions, I fell in love with the story and the complexity of it, the way it makes you wonder and question your own sense of morality and what's right and wrong is pretty awesome. For a good part of the story I felt rather dived, I didn't really like Light but I also really loved the genius of his character and I understood him and what he was striving for, however I knew it wasn't right and Light wasn't meant to be the white knight or the hero but rather the antagonist. The whole cat and mouse situation going on between L and Light was just so brilliant, so intriguing, I was hooked. I love L so much, also Near and Mello and quite frankly I love every single character in some way, they all played an important role. Death Note truly is a work of art and I loved it all the way from the start to the very end.

Attack On Titan.

I love Attack On Titan, both the anime and manga are brilliant, I love it how the story is so consistent and so well written from the very beginning, everything is connected and it's just absolutely genius. I believe Eren might be one of the best anime/manga protagonists of all time, all he's been through, how he orchestrated everything, all his efforts to get to that freedom he's been striving for from the very start of the story is impressive, his character development is outstanding and what can I say? I just love Eren, to be honest every single character is so beautifully written and I could just go on and talk about each of them individually but let's not do that or else this will get way too long for anyone to read it aha. Attack On Titan touches many sensitive topics and for that reason it is very impactful and completely and utterly worth it!

Black Butler.

I love everything dark, supernatural and gothic themed, I've also always loved everything about the Victorian era in England so of course when I heard of Black Butler I just really had to read/watch it for myself. I fell in love with it almost instantly, it just had a certain aura to it that peaked my interest, I thought it was everything I expected it to be and more, dark, gothy and with a good bunch of supernatural elements. I found the story very touching, tragic and intriguing with pretty interesting plot twists, there's also a good dose of humor which I appreciate. I should also mention that I appreciate Yana Taboso's work a whole lot, I think she's incredibly talented not just as a writer/storyteller but also her character designs are just fantastic, every character she creates is always so aesthetically pleasing, unique and detailed, matching the theme and their personalities perfectly. Quick disclaimer! The first season doesn't entirely correlate with the manga and the second season was entirely made up and does not follow the manga at all, I still did enjoy it as a separate piece of Black Butler content though. The third season is my personal favorite because I love love love the Noah's Ark Circus arc, it's fantastic, there's also a movie called Book of the Atlantic that covers another really awesome arc of the manga and some really cool OVA's totally worth watching (especially Book of Murder because it covers an arc of the manga), I've lost track of how many times I've rewatched it all! I love every single character and I'm definitely very glad I found and got into Black Butler.

Blue Exorcist.

I first got into the manga and I loved it so much that it didn't take me long to binge watch the entire anime (or what's currently available at least) however, the second half of the first season of Blue Exorcist does not follow the original source material, I did enjoy it nonetheless, it was an interesting alternative ending for sure but I still prefer how the manga is developing much more, I loved the second season and I just hope to one day see all the manga arcs animated! Blue Exorcist is awesome, it's fun, emotional, with a very compelling story line and surprising plot twists. The way the series handles and showcases familiar relationships and friendships feels very real and the characters are relatable, it's impossible not to get attached to them. Well, I just really love it and totally recommend it! Ohh there's also a pretty awesome movie!!!

My Hero Academia.

I got into My Hero Academia through my brother actually, he was reading it and I was looking for something new to read and watch too and that's when he suggested I start MHA, I got hooked pretty fast, it's pretty entertaining, I like how unique everyone's quirks are and how they seem to somewhat influence their personalities. There's a lot of emotion, characters that have been through a lot so it's hard not to feel sympathetic, especially if you've experienced similar things yourself, It didn't take long for me to start relating to certain characters and get attached to them, building my own theories and overall it's a fun ride!

One Punch Man.

OKAY, One Punch Man is My fiancé's favorite manga/anime series and he is a huge fanboy so it was inevitable aha. I got into it through him, at first I wasn't very optimistic about it, it didn't seem like my cup of tea but boy was I wrong! I ended up loving it and becoming a huge fangirl myself, it only took me a few weeks to catch up with the manga and finish the first season, the second season aired recently and we've also already finished it. One Punch Man is packed with action, adventure and lots of good humor, it's awesome!

Parasyte.

I love Parasyte a great deal, it's such a great manga/anime series especially if you're a fan of Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul: re, I feel like it's rather underrated though so I totally recommend it! It'll take you on a wild, very emotional rollercoaster ride from the beginning to the end, it's impossible not to get a little emotional here and there while watching or reading it. There's a lot of depth and detail in the story, it questions humanity and our true nature as individuals and as a society, it makes you wonder episode after episode or chapter after chapter, it's very raw and impactful, I think everyone sees little fragments of themselves in every character, it's incredibly relatable.

Yuri on Ice.

Oh dear, I love Yuri on Ice so much!!! I found this anime so heartwarming, I loved how pure the relationship between Yuri and Viktor was, their development felt very real, they truly cared for one another, I mean it's just so tender and so beautiful to watch, the emotion and the expectation is so strong on this one, also it's good to see healthy lgbt+ representation in media, especially anime. The whole story is just so worthwhile. I loved each and every character, the choreographies were beautiful and so was the music and the overall atmosphere of the series, Yuri on Ice just makes me happy.

American Horror Story.

I'm an avid horror fan and I've been watching AHS since it first begun airing, it's been one of my favorite tv shows for years and years now, I like it how the show is so versatile, every season has a different theme and explores a completely different universe with new plotlines and characters, sometimes two seasons can be connected by certain events which is always pretty interesting to see. There are some seasons that I like more than others but overall it's pretty good and I love it! On rainy days I really enjoy rewatching my favorite episodes over some hot chocolate and the sound of the rain on my window.

why is mello associated to virgin mary in official artwork? i've thought about this a few times, and my idea is that both have total faith in the role they have to play in the bigger picture of a 'divine' scheme, without really knowing they'll be essential figures in the story...what are your thoughts about this?

My honest opinion is going to be.. disappointing, but it’s this:Obata thinks Virgin Mary looks cool and was aiming for a mafia aesthetic.

I really don’t believe in there being much of a deep meaning behind the catholic symbolism that crops up in Death Note, it is so copious that I have a very hard time reading more into it than ‘pretty goth aesthetic’. There are crosses and halos literally everywhere and associated with almost every character, none of them are meant to be Jesus though, you know?

Virgin Mary also appears with L, in Misa’s room or completely at random:

She’s not a motif that is associated with Mello only, just like halos, crosses, angels and hearts are re-occuring imagery that doesn’t follow a specific character around. DN as a whole just has all of these symbols in abundance.(To be perfectly fair, Misa’s room decoration is an IC choice, unlike the others.)

Mello gets her twice, which makes it striking, but I do think the reason here is like... mostly pragmatic? If you can call it that, uhm.

The mafia is very closely associated with catholicism in pop culture (and apparently real life, but I am not informed there) and that is a trope that Obata heavily draws upon with Mello.

It’s not just the official art, it’s also that the lairs of the mafia guys are ripe with religious items. These aren’t Mello’s private rooms, they are mafia spaces and thus I’d say the association is largely between religionmafia rather than religionMello. Paired with Obata’s extreme enjoyment of Christian imagery in all Death Note illustrations, I have a hard time reading deeper into it.

(As a side note, I don’t think Mello has any faith in the role he ‘has’ to play, he seeks to define his own role and path more than anything, I’d say?)
