So the flying technique needs a lot of perfect chakra control. Even Naruto can't balance properly in the air despite being the one to invent the technique.
But you know who does have goods chakra control? Sakura. And it's leagues better than Naruto. She can also stand straight when flying cuz she doesn't have to lower herself for balance. She's got the perfect chakra control for that.
All I'm trying to say is that this is Sakura.

Their Reactions To You Offering Them Flowers || Naruto characters x reader 3
A/n : This grew in my mind a while ago as well. I hope you'll like it
Naruto Headcanons series : 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6
Warnings : Contains both fluff and slow burn-ish ends ( under the cut ) but seriously there is nothing harmful, like at all. And sad-ish for Sasori but fluff at the end

Sasuke Uchiha : He was doing the dishes. He turned around when he felt you entering the kitchen. He slightly side eyed the bouquet you were holding delicately in your hands “What is that for ?” But you extended it towards him “It’s for you” you beamed. “You can set them there” he said pointing to the kitchen table, a hint of pink appearing on his cheeks. You knew he liked it even if he struggled to express it. Though he started to feel remorse for not acknowledging your present properly and with the due happiness it deserved. so the next day he made himself go to the flower shop and bought you one as well. Yes, the seller was shocked to see the Sasuke Uchiha come to their shop, and ask for help on a flower arrangement with a cold, distant tone. When he gave them to you still with a hint of pink on his cheeks, he saw the glint in your eyes and it made everything better.
Naruto Uzumaki : Flowers ?!? NO WAY ?!? He is just so excited. Seriously you could have given him some grass he would have been genuinely happy as it’s from you. He engulfs you in a bone crushing hug “Aaaah Y/n thank you thank you thank you !!” he screams. You’re so pleased to see this glint of pure joy in his eyes. He wants to know everything about them. He is so eager to put them in a pot. You help him. Unfortunately one dies in the process. So Here you are 45 later walking in the forest looking for THE perfect flower to add to the other. Well his tummy ended up having the better of him and you guys finished your stroll in the forest at Ichiraku’s. As if this could have ended in another way.
Itachi Uchiha : He was cooking when you entered your house. He knew you were going straight to him as he felt your aura approaching him “Hello my Love. Did you enjoy your day ?” Instead of answering him you just handed him the bouquet a huge smile plastered on your face. Which was quickly reciprocated on his own face “Thank you Precious this means a lot” he said carefully cradling the flowers against his chest. He extended a hand to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear as he left a white flower there “They are almost as beautiful as you. Almost” his voice was soft as he gazed into your eyes, silently asking permission to kiss you. Which you granted directly with a nod. He set a gentle hand on your cheek and pulled you closer to him eager to taste your lips once again. He peppered your lips with soft kisses expressing the depth of his love and longing for you. The next day he too was going to surprise you, with the velvety box he brought a week ago and safely tucked in his drawer.
Sai : Bro is so goofy. When you extended the bouquet towards him his face changed to a sad expression “I’m sorry for your loss” Your eyes widened “Sai my love no one died. They’re for you” Now it was the turn of his eyes to widen “Ooooh I see… thank you ?” he said. He didn’t really know how to act, as he never was gifted in this way. Though he couldn’t help the fireworks in his heart as you handed them in his hands. He put them against his heart “I’ll cherish them. Let me just- no here. Come here and hold them. I’m going to draw you” You complied happily and let him guide you into the pose he had in mind.
Neji Hyuga : When you handed him the flowers he looked at you with a surprised look. He was the man so why are you giving him the flowers ? Wasn’t it supposed to be the other way around ? Or maybe you had enough waiting for him to gift you so you did this to wake him up ? “Sunshine just take them. It’s from the bottom of my heart. I love you” He smiled softly at your words as he took the bouquet. Despite his reserved nature he took a step towards you and engulfed you in a gentle embrace, before giving a kiss to your neck “Thank you Y/n. I’ll do them honor and take good care of them” he stated, still holding you. You gave him a big smile. Even it was just flowers you were immensely happy that he wanted to cherish them like this.
Rock Lee : You don’t even have time to give them to him. The moment he understands it’s for him he knock your off your feet. He literally tackles you to the ground. Hot stream of tears strimming down how face - even some snot down his knows - as he nuzzles against your side “You don’t even know how this touches me deep in my heart ! I will cherish ad protect them with my life ! I will never forget your present ! Ever !” You laughed at his enthusiasm “Lee it’s just flowers. You don't need to get yourself into this state” you said rubbing his back hoping no one will come at the training ground and see you both on the ground, and also that he didn’t crush the flowers with his body. But when he helps you up from the ground and finally takes the flowers he sees a a petal falling from the bouquet almost in slow motion. His irises seem to shatter into fragments of glass as the petal hits the ground "NOOO ! I'm so sorry ! How could I let this happen ?!?" You began to reassure him "Don't worry, it would have happened sooner or later" And as he cried on your shoulder, you promised yourself to buy something that was less likely to break. Like weights, for example.
Gaara : He is SHOOK. What you took from your time to buy him something ? Was he worthy of your time and money like this ? He blushes furiously as the bouquet makes contact with his shaky hand “T-thank y-you Y/n. But I don’t think I deserv-” “Nonsense Peanut. It’s my pleasure. It’s only a mere proof for my love for you after all” you smiled trying to ease the tension building within him. It worked because the frown on his face gave way to a more relaxed smile. But then you took him by surprise and picked out a yellow flower from the bouquet and slided it between strands of his red hair “Perfect. You look the prettiest bride ever” He blushed even further “Y-Y/n ! I-I’m your h-husband” he whined as he stuttered against your neck. He didn’t want you to see how flustered you’ve made him. Now he had to find a way to fluster you as well. It would only be fair.
Hashirama Senju : You entered his Hokage office with the flowers in hands, opening the door with your back. He was so busy he didn’t even lift his nose from the stack of papers in front of him “Tobirama I told you earlier no I can’t change the colour of the wallflower just because you don’t like the yellow-” “I like the wallflower” you said chuckling at his lack of attention. “S-sweetie ! I didn’t know you were going to come-” his hazelnut eyes finally set on the bouquet “Oh are they for me ?” he said getting up. His eyes were glittering as he saw you nodding. “Thank you so much for the attention. Here put them there” he put a spare vase on his desk “That way I’ll always have a reminder of you” You chuckled at his words “You mean something more striking than the ring on your finger” sending him blush in the next century. “No no as strong. Of course not” He gave you a chaste kiss before walking back behind his desk. “If you’re willing to take a sit there and wait for me for… 30 min or so I’ll be able to leave early with you today. Hopefully Tobirama won’t catch us” he laughed as he took a sit and motioned for you to sit in front of him. Let’s just hope his brother isn’t going to come back to talk about this damn wallflower.
Madara Uchiha : He was at his office planning some missions for other ninjas when you quietly entered the room. He noticed right away the delicate flowers that you were holding. You set them in a vase in front of him and put your hands on his shoulders massaging gently. All this without uttering a word. You knew how tired he was and how much he just wanted to go to bed at hours like this. So you hoped they would bring him at least some joy. He took his time admiring the beautiful petal and the vivid green colour of the stalk. While letting you hands work their magic on his tired shoulders. Then in silence, he pulled you on his lap and gazed briefly into your eyes before giving a long and slow kiss to your forehead. The corners of his mouth lifting slightly as he attempted to smile despite his fatigue “Thank you my Love” he said breaking the silence “I’ll join you in bed son okay ?” you nodded “Okay” giving a kiss to his lips “I’ll stay with you there” you said setting your head on his shoulder. He felt his heart swell with love as he went back to his work. Fuelled in working better and faster by your presence.
Yamato : “I’ve finally found you. Here I got you these” you said showing him your gift. "Wow, they're incredible. What are these ? Poison ? Hidden kunais compartment ? Another kind of weapon ?" You laughed out loud, quickly putting a hand on your mouth “Yamato, Dear It’s only flowers” He makes a face. Not a face that looks like one of surprise as it should noooo. He makes his signature Yamato face with a creepy smile “I think he is happy” you thought. As you gave them to him he held them carefully almost scared to break them. You almost want to tell him that being an ANBU doesn’t make him a flower breaker, but you don’t want to make him even more anxious. He blinked slowly - like a cat - as he looked back at you “Thank you very much. I didn’t know or else I would have taken something for you as well. You’re important to me you know that” he said softly gazing into you eyes. “Don’t worry about this. Just knowing you came back safely means the world to me” Your words were his cue and finally he leaning in and kissed you deeply… the gear in his mind still working to find the perfect gift for you.
Sasori : He ✨side eyes ✨ the flowers as if they were a rotten apple “You know I don’t like flowers” he says. You don’t even know how he knows since his face stayed turned to the puppet he was fixing. “I thought it was because they were from someone else-” “From someone else or from you I don’t like flowers. That’s all” he said, as cold as ever. On your side you could sense he sounded kinda sad ? Maybe because the delicate plants were so fragile to the time and its flow. “I’m going to plant them. I’m sure they will grow taller. And every year their seed will make a new flower” you said leaving him to his work. Unbeknownst to you he stopped abruptly in his task, thinking about your words. And just like that he decided to get up and see how you were going to take care of them. How you were going to ensure their life in this world despite their short lifetime. Yeah you sparked something within him and for once in his life he was eager to wait and see how your care would save those little flowers.
Slow burn-ish ends starts here :
Iruka Umino : When his eyes set on the flowers he gets red. Almost as red as the roses you’re handing him “W-wow Y-Y/n they l-look so pretty. B-but I didn’t bring anything for you. I d-didn’t know y-you’d-” but you cut him off with a kiss on his rosy cheeks “It’s my pleasure Iruka. And I’ll bring you some as long as you like them. Just to see your wide smile, the sparkle in your beautiful eyes and the colors of your cheeks” you teased him pinching his cheek lightly. “Y-Y/nnnnnn” he whined looking as sheepish as ever “You’re teasing me” he tried to look up at you again without succeeding. finally after a deep breath he pulled you against his chest. He gave the top of your head a kiss, breathing in your scent “I want to take you out to dinner with me… i-if that’s fine with you” he mumbled. “I’d love that Iruka. We’ve both been busy lately. I think that would be really nice” He smiled widely hearing your words. Indeed it sounded really nice to spend the evening with you and maybe well have you come and sleep over…
Orochimaru : That little ✨shit✨ chuckles when you give him the bouquet. Making you almost self-conscious. You’re torturing yourself. Wondering if he likes them, or if he thinks you’re dumb for offering flowers to someone as powerful as him. His natural suave voice makes you shivers as he speaks “Ooh Pet look at you. Offering me something as fragile and vulnerable as you for me to take care of” he gets closer to you “I’m sorry to disappoint but my attention will stay solely on you my Dear. Well most of it since now I have to give them a little bit of care too” He tries to stay in character but inside it’s a whole firework going on ( 4th July for my fellow American and 14th July for my French comrades ) he wants to jump up and down with you in his arms while crying and ask the skies how they found him worthy of your time and love. But he doesn’t. Instead he gives you a long and needy kiss on the pulse point of your neck. And lets you here saying he is going to look for a vase. Letting you there longing for more.
Deidara : You didn’t even have time to give them to him that he screamed “Y/n ! Those are per-fect ! See those beautiful petals how soon they will fall. Slowly giving traits to the time passing and taking their beauty with it ! This is true art ! You’re an amazing partner ! I couldn’t dream nor create a better one ! Such beautiful flowers… quick quick I need to make something to help me remember how sumptuous they were !” He took the flowers from your hand and started running somewhere, his blond hair swaying with each jump. Suddenly you saw him run back to you. He gave you a passionate *French* kiss and with that rushed the other way. But not before screaming “Do not worry you will get rewarded later” You didn’t know which kind of reward he was meaning though with him literally anything was possible.
Kakashi Hatake : When he saw you entering your shared apartment with the flowers in hand,  he smiled under his mask “What a nice surprise. And to tell I was wondering what took you so long” He pulled down his mask and gave you a long awaited kiss after a long day of work for both of you. As he took them he took in there delicate parfum “And that smell as nice as they look. Thank you Y/n. I’ll see how I can make it up to you as well” Your heart swelled “Kakashi you don’t need too it’s my pleasure” But he took you of guard “Okay I’ll give you pleasure” “Huh ? What ?” with a swift motion the flowers were securely put in a vase and you were carried on his shoulder towards your bedroom.
Shikamaru Nara : When he saw you coming from afar he sighed before shaking his head slightly. When you handed him the flower he took them while a smirk was playing on his lips “My why are you always this troublesome ?” he said. But you knew he liked the present “This is going to be such a drag to water everyday” he took a step closer towards you “Though for you I’m sure I can make some room for that” he said twirling a strand of your hair around his finger. This time it was you who smirked “Only for that Shika ?” He chuckled at your comment before leaning in and pecking your lips chastely “Keep going and you’ll see I have plenty of room to make when it’s for you” “Well then What are you waitin-” you didn’t even finish your sentence that he swept you off your feet. Well at least now you were going to know what he was hinting at. Though a part of you knew damn well what it was going to be about.
Utakata : He saw you coming from afar. He noticed the pep in your step and followed you walking up to him from the corner of his eye “Utakata ?” you said it was clear that you were excited for some reason “Y/n ?” he said, unsure of what you were up to “I’ve brought you… this !” you said, taking the flowers from behind your back and guiding them into his hands. He looked at the bouquet which was now in his hands, then back at you. And back at the flowers and back at you “What are those for ?” he said. His usual cold tone accompanying each one of his words “They are for you Dear” “I see that but what for ?” “I think the pastel blue brings out your beautiful brown eyes, that's all” you said smiling at him. His eyes widened as he saw your face inching closer to his. Your lips looked very kissable from his point of vue all of a sudden. Maybe your training could wait only for one kiss or two after all. So he dipped in and tasted your soft lips “Mmmh still so exquisite” he thought. Yes, maybe training could wait a bit more.
Minato Namikaze : You’ve set him the surprise in a pretty vase and set it on the table waiting for him to discover it when he’ll be back from his Hokage office. He didn’t even notice them bruh or if he did he wouldn’t have though they were for them “My my does the fastest man of Konohagakure go so fast he doesn’t even see the flowers her wife bought for him ?” you joked. “Y-you’ve b-bought me f-flowers ? I don’t k-know what to say” You got up but in no time he went from the door to in front of you. You cupped his blushing cheek “Just a kiss will but even a smile will suffice” He immediately leaned in and pressed his lips to yours. As he pulled away though he took your hand in his “But if you allow me I can give you much more than just a kiss Y/n” he said. His eyes were twinkling with a mischievous glow despite his quiet tone. “Only if you’re not too tired” you responded. “I’m never tired for you. In fact…” he swept you off your feet and brought you to your room “…now I feel widely awake to do whatever you’re in for” And that’s how the next day you had troubles walking ; )
Tobirama Senju : He’s part of the side eye team as well. The bouquet receives a criminal offensive one “I’m a ninja I don’t need flowers” Despite his harsh answer you smirked. First because you knew he would react like this and second because you could sense he was glad you thought to grind him something even if he didn’t know how to actually handle the gift. So you decided to tease him further lmao. Pointing towards your chest you said “Those neither and if I recall yesterday you-“ You didn’t even finish your sentence his hand went to your mouth “Shhhhhhhhh ! Okay ! Okay fine ugh… thank you. They look pretty… I guess” you engulfed him into a hug “See it wasn’t that hard with a little help” you chuckled. He was looking at everything but you, his cheeks slightly flushed “You’re insufferable” he said, shaking his head slightly, though he couldn’t help the little smile that had appeared on his lips.
Hidan : He looks at you curiously when you extend the bouquet to him “Doll you know those aren’t part of my rituals for Jashin right ?” you giggled at his straightforwardness “Of course I know that. I bought them for you and no one else” He saw you walk toward a vase you also bought and set them on his night table. His purplish eyes followed your every move as you walked back up to him. His hands gripped your hips as he continued with a seductive tone “Mmh and what for then ?” you smiled at him “Well let’s just say that you worship Jashin and I worship…” you walked your fingers on his broad shoulder “…you” His eyes widened slightly at your words as a smirk spread on his lips “Oooh and can your worship lie in more than flowers or…” he let his words trail “All you ask I’ll do” you said breathlessly lost in his gaze as you started to feel his hands rubbing circles on the skin your shirt was showing “Okay then you see this cupboard ? Bend on it and let me do the rest. My good little worshiper” he said with a husky voice that gave you an inkling of what was to come.
Genma Shiranui : He raises an eyebrow at you, his tone teasing as always “Mmh look at that. A beautiful flower gifting me beautiful flowers. But between us you look appetizing compared to them” You blushed slightly at his suggestive comment “Genma just take them. Don’t embarrass me on the damn street. People will hear you” he chuckled darkly “Baby the whole village hears you when the night comes-” “Shhhhhhhhh !!!!!” you hissed. Making him chuckle even more. His arm circled your shoulders as he pulled you closer to him and kissed your temple “You know I like teasing you. I can’t help it. Your reactions are always delightful” he said, playing with the senbon between his teeth as he looked down at you. You playfully stuck your tongue out at him “You’re so mean” “But I know you love it” he chuckled rubbing his hand on your shoulder. And gosh know it was true.

pairing ༄ yandere!naruto x f!reader
warnings ༄ minors: please do not interact! i will block you. non-consensual voyeurism, masturbation, stalking, religious imagery, a bit of blood, and generally toxic behavior. reader wears a dress and some lacy underwear and has a vagina, but is only referred to as “you.” this gets icky, so please heed these warnings before reading.

notes ༄ this work is for the lovely @tired-biscuit! manda didn’t ask for this, but she is the reason why dark naru has infected my brain, so she must accept this creepy lil fic as a token of my gratitude <3 it was fun to write the sunshine boy as…well…a freak. please keep in mind that our narrator is unreliable and filters reality through naruto’s skewed worldview. anyway, please enjoy!
Tumblr media
his eyes are an unfathomable ocean of blue, wide and limitless as the horizon. his gaze holds a palpable warmth, as if dipped in golden sunlight, glowing with inhuman kindness and charisma.
only a god, or perhaps a fellow monster, could see past the carefully constructed façade of his eyes. the veil of sincerity is mere gossamer, but appears too natural to be false. it’s intended to attract and allure—the ruse of a predator so beautiful his prey doesn’t perceive danger until after poison is thrumming through their bloodstream.
you are just a human. perhaps your mediocrity is what initially drew those moonless eyes. why else would they turn to you? it’s a secret he will never divulge to another soul; not until you are wholly his, anyway.
he will forever remember the first time he stumbled upon you at the market on a sun-drenched saturday. he was out of eggs and on a quick mission to grab a dozen so he could cook and eat breakfast. there weren’t many people out since it was early, dewdrops clinging to shaded blades of grass and shivering leaves, so he easily traversed the market without much of the idle chit chat that comes with being a public figure.
but there you were: sorting through oranges as vibrant as his jacket. the breeze rustled your hair into what looked like a luminous halo in the morning light. his quick pace came to a lurching halt when he saw you, lithe body slightly swaying as his feet rooted in place.
he was fixated on your handling and inspection of the citrus, fingertips delicately dancing along the skin of each fruit. you plucked up one orange at a time, rolling it in your hands to test the firmness, holding it close to your thoughtful face to check for spots, then placing it in your produce bag. you were too immersed in your methodical fruit selection to notice that the hokage was only a few feet from you, slack-jawed in wonder.
from a single glance he could tell you were a civilian. your movements were too fluid, too carefree; you had none of the mechanical sharpness that marked a shinobi. and if you were a shinobi he would have recognized you instantly. he has met every ninja in the village at least a handful of times.
no, you were a rare breed in konoha: one of the ungifted few.
his mind grew dizzy with questions: was anyone in your family a shinobi? were your parents disappointed that you couldn’t use ninjutsu? were you bullied growing up by more talented and popular peers? he certainly understood the pain of an isolated upbringing.
he thought of your plainness, your innocence, your naïveté to the horrors of his world—to the horrors his bloodstained palms have wrought and rent. in a village of expert spies and killers, you were a lone lamb ripe for the picking. it was painfully apparent that you needed protection. who better than the hokage to be your protector?
his dick twitched at the thought.
he followed you home for the first time that day, his empty stomach a forgotten memory. his deep eyes consumed you: the sway of your hips as you strolled down the sidewalk, the hem of your sundress swishing around your plush thighs, the swing of the produce bag draped over your shoulder. he hungrily watched you bend over to marvel at blooms along your route, peek into colorful shop windows, and kneel down to pet a friendly calico cat.
bitter jealousy seized his gut when you waved at a neighbor, offering a bright “hello!” and flashing the man a disarming smile. his jaw ticked and nostrils flared. the caged beast within him growled in disgust at the man’s audacity to leer at you as you bounded up the steps of your apartment building.
he had to shield you from those who would take advantage of your vulnerability.
moonbeams peak through the gaps in your cheap blinds at this hour, illuminating your slumbering form, limbs curled up beneath a mass of soft bedsheets and cozy blankets. the whir of the fan reverberates through your cold bedroom and masks any noise that the stranger in your apartment might make.
naruto has watched you for days, for weeks, for months. in truth, time has been a blur of your tender laugh and saccharine gaze and supple flesh. since he fell for you, his love has been a hazy dream he can’t seem to wake from. all he can think of is you.
this is the first time he has been brazen enough to visit your apartment while you’re home. his heart was aching for an unobstructed view of you; tracking your figure through windows and computer screens doesn’t do your beauty justice, he determines as he looks down at your angelic face. the rush he feels being so close to you is pure ecstasy. he devours the sight of your sleeping silhouette. he knows that you’re nude under the sheets—he knows everything about you, after all.
he knows that you’re on your period, and that your cycle makes you especially needy. he knows that you masturbated this evening right after your hot shower. he knows that you wore a slinky pair of blue panties while you were getting in the mood. he knows that you didn’t touch yourself until your arousal soaked through the gusset and dripped down into the swell of your ass, proceeding to tease your clothed clit until it throbbed. he knows that you peeled off the soiled lace, lazily tossing the garment on the floor before you spread your puffy lips and fucked yourself with three fingers, rubbing tight circles on your clit until you cried out as you climaxed.
he wishes he could trace the curves of your soft skin, your heavenly body untainted by war and violence unlike his own. to see your eyes flutter open as he worships you with gentle kisses and prayerful praises. to adore your most sacred parts as your sole disciple. to bring you divine pleasure with his cursed lips, tongue, hands, and cock.
he picks your underwear up from where you carelessly dropped it. his calloused forefinger and thumb rub the delicate lace—the same color as his lustful irises—with reverence. he unfurls the fabric, the pearly moonlight highlighting an intimate gift: streaks of your essence and dribbled blood staining the gusset. he buries his nose in the garment, inhaling your musky scent with a shudder. he’s addicted.
he’s painfully hard as his tongue darts out to graze the remnants of your desire and ichor, tentative licks yielding to ravenous laps as he decides there is no sweeter taste. he has to stifle a whimper as he fishes his aching cock out of his wet trousers and smears a mess of precum down his shaft. he pumps his length to the sight of your dreamy face and the overwhelming smell and taste of your arousal, panties flat against his tongue. he should be worried about the schlick schlick schlick of his jerking cock rousing you from slumber, but all he can focus on is quelling the animal urge to blow his load all over your face, to officially mark you as his.
it doesn’t take him long to cum. he rips your underwear out of his mouth and shoots creamy white ropes all over the fabric with a rumbling groan, his fluids mixing with your own. naruto shoves the sodden garment into his pocket and takes a final look at you before disappearing into the velvet night.
the next day you search high and low for your missing pair of underwear; it seems to have vanished into thin air. your confusion only mounts when you find it a few days later, freshly laundered and neatly folded in the top drawer of your dresser.

your recent drawing is so cute it feeds my ominis obsession up perfectly !! since you head cannon ominis’s animagus being a python what would you think the fmc’s animagus would be ? how do you think ominis would interact with it ? :)
Tumblr media
Thanks for the very interesting ask! Regarding F!MC's animagus, it's hard to throw away cute animals like cats and rabbits, but I dare say that unusual creatures like slugs would be nice too, in my opinion. (I came up with this idea because I love Tsunade and Katsuyu from NARUTO so much🤣)
They would definitely be close and lovey-dovey in their animal bodies!🐍🐌 I think it would be great if the F!MC slugs rode on the head of the snake Ominis and the two of them took a friendly stroll together!

Good Memories, Yours and Mine
Tumblr media
A little illustrated drabble for @kakashiweek Rating: G Day 4: Any AU. Post-war. Obito could tell getting used to this version of him wasn’t an easy task for Kakashi, but their awkward attempts at being friendly seemed like a good start. Twice they’d found common ground, and twice it had ended in parting soon after; if not for the Sage’s mercy and jutsu mastery, they wouldn’t be strolling the streets of Suna now, during a small break between court sessions. Getting in sync had felt natural in the midst of battle, but getting along in the thick mire of post-war stagnation turned out to be way more difficult.
Frankly, Obito still barely recognized himself; self-restoration was a work in progress. He hadn’t associated what he saw in the mirror with “Uchiha Obito” for a good deal of years, but now he sometimes absently wondered if his real self could still be seen through the battle-weary shell of his body or the grim lines on his face. Only the eyes seemed the same – dark, restless, and brooding, the Sharingan sealed away.
But apparently grannies could sense something regardless. They’d always clung to the lively boy he’d been, and when an old lady tugged at his sleeve and asked if he could carry her enormous suitcase up a flight of stairs (which were abundant in Suna), Obito got lost in the feeling of déjà-vu. It took him a few moments to process her words, and then he silently fulfilled the request under Kakashi’s amused stare. He knew one thing for sure: grannies’ intuition never lies. If that Suna lady approached him, then perhaps he did have something of the former Obito in his aura again; a tiny flicker of warmth only a perceptive person could notice.
“There was a time when I couldn’t stand your granny-related excuses. But now they’re good memories,” Kakashi commented with a lilt in his voice when Obito returned. “But I… I didn’t leave you any good memories, did I? If I did, it might have…”
Obito sighed. “You probably did,” he admitted quietly, “but they were few. Very few. And poisoned by what – what followed later…” It was a precipice they’d been hovering on for quite a while but couldn’t jump into just yet, so he made a mental step back and clutched onto a tiny vision that twinkled like a firefly in the dark mess of his mind. “Oh! Remember the day when you helped me with granny Hiroko’s errand? You were so nervous we’d be late for some stupid team training with some stupid invited specialists that you sank to my level just to make sure I’d be on time.”

“Uhuh. We ended up being late together anyway, only appearing after they’d left. An unforgettable event,” came the light-hearted response, and then Kakashi giggled. It was the strangest sound in the universe.
“‘Criminally negligent irresponsibility in time of war,’” Obito quoted Sandaime’s words mockingly. “For once I wasn’t the only one being scolded. And you actually enjoyed running that errand with me – don’t tell me you didn’t. You didn’t even chastise me after. And maybe you even snickered under that mask of yours when Sensei, pale and fidgety, tried his best to explain your ‘degradation’ and my bad influence on you to his superiors.”
Tumblr media
“True, I was smiling,” Kakashi let out slowly, lost in the memory. “Their faces were funny.”
“Took you a long time to admit it.”
“Took me a long time to change.” He hummed and closed his eyes in delight. “Besides, granny Hiroko’s eggplants were tasty.”
Obito couldn’t help but chuckle. “Oh, really?” They had been ninja, and fighters, and soldiers, but sometimes they had been just kids.
***
(They were late for the court session; Tsunade was outraged by the irresponsibility (something familiar, huh) and gave them an earful, but both of them were only smiling...) _____________________ Huge thanks to @professor-of-naruto for proofreading, but I've changed 1/3 of the text since then, so I might have "enriched" it with new mistakes 😁 And huge thanks to @cool-thymus for the title idea and all the fun we had discussing this AU!

Re: my Naruto OC [x, x]
Here she is, in an unedited version of how she learns to hate Uchiha Itachi
----------
She had no name. The illusory shape she was currently inhabiting was a man called "Ryouta," who was a missing-nin of middling skill. He was tall enough and symmetrical enough to look sort of attractive if he cleaned up, but average enough to drop off the radar for most people. He was a kenjutsu master, which would pose an issue for her if she was required to actually engage in combat as him... but since her entire repertoire of skills was built up around the central pillar of avoiding combat, she felt that was pretty unlikely.
The real Ryouta was also off living his own life some hundred and ten miles away, deep in Wind Country, where his negotiations with clients formed data points for her research. His image was simply on... temporary loan.
Here and now, this image of Ryouta was following up on her favourite and very long term pet project: the outlier missing-nin, Kakuzu.
She strolled through the market that had popped up on the industrial outskirts of Rain. It was damp—it was always damp—and the place had been set up on a flat, hard-packed area that had gotten absolutely annihilated during the war by what looked like, perhaps, a lava flow? At its edges, aging electrical wires sagged, and hastily patched up buildings loomed, and on the far side the road went straight out to the river and apparently endless rice paddies.
Despite the setting, the little market was cheerful and bright. People called out to Ryouta as she passed through, calling for him to try their deep fried water bugs on sticks, buy their herbs, or marvel at their machine-woven cloth. Two children, under the watchful eye of an older lady selling jars of hot red chillies, were playing with sticks in the mud, stirring the water in their hand-dug hole as if it were a pot of soup.
Rain as a village was... interesting, from Ryouta's perspective. It operated under a system of benign neglect. That the governing body was presided over by an undead missing-nin and his angelic partner was kind of an open secret among the people who'd lived there long enough. And, historically, those two had chosen to address only violent foreign shinobi, two plague outbreaks, a food crisis, and actual invasions. They rarely intervened to regulate or support the population otherwise. Instead, the village had mostly divided itself into small neighbourhoods of ten or twenty families, and those families typically bartered and supported one another.
Such systems, Ryouta knew, only functioned because their communities were small enough that everyone knew everyone else's business: they kept their own informal tallies of what was polite and who owed what assistance to whom. This was also how such small communities managed crime so efficiently... for a value of "crime," that was defined very casually by whether or not most people found something acceptable, and "management," that stood for vigilante justice, of course.
Such societies became more and more alienated from the causes and effects of crime as they grew larger, until you had something like the Grand Court over in Fire Country, where people who barely knew each other committed crimes against one another and were given sanctions that held no relevance to the victims whatsoever. At that point, all crime was basically against the state, not really your neighbours...
It was a fascinating area of study, although it was not her specialty. Her area of study was more elusive, more secretive, and a lot more dangerous.
There was a shinobi walking through this market, and he was the real focus of her attention.
Hidan was an idiot, so she didn't have to try very hard to evade his senses as she tracked him. She just had to be careful she didn't get too close. Occasionally, he stopped to examine something, and then she stopped, too. Simple, right?
Really, her distance was more of a precaution against his personality than it was against his senses. He would never pick her out of a crowd, but he excelled at pointless, aimless violence, so it was possible that he wouldn't need to pick her out of a crowd. Would he act that way in Rain, where Pein and Konan watched over the population with a view to eradicating shinobi threats? Well. Ryouta wouldn't have chanced it... but Hidan rarely shared her risk aversion.
"That's so cool," she said, leaning over some of the ugliest jewellery in the world. Mostly it was insects trapped in amber, fancifully tied up in bright string to form bracelets. "Do you think my girlfriend will like it, Auntie?"
The lady's babble—of course she would, why, any woman would love a juvenile sand scorpion stuck in a fossil!—washed over her. She was paying more attention to Hidan, who'd stopped to buy a bug on a stick.
The shopkeeper gave him a second one for free. From this distance it was hard to say if he knew who Hidan was and was attempting to ward off death with food, or if Hidan was just kind of reaping the rewards of being beautiful in public. Either way, he looked at it, shrugged, and took it too, twirling the stick deftly between his fingers as he moved on. The fried water bug's legs wagged stiffly with its momentum.
"Ah, I think I should check with her before I spend money on it," Ryouta said regretfully. "What if she doesn't like it, and I can't get her something else because I spent all my money?" The stall lady did not, she noticed, hasten to offer a returns policy. "Thanks for your time, Auntie!"
It became harder to follow Hidan innocuously when he passed the edge of the market. There was no longer a crowd in which to immerse herself. Ryouta wasn't sure how they did it exactly, but she knew that she'd be heavily surveilled if she seemed suspicious. She could hide her identity easily, but it was harder to hide a developed chakra system... and someone might show up to chase her off. She'd been chased off once, as Chiriko, and it wasn't lost on her that the real Chiriko (a genin missing-nin from Sand who'd been part of her pay grading study) had died pretty shortly after. She didn't want that.
Luckily, being chased off once gave her plenty information to come back with a work around. She couldn't hide that she was somewhere in Rain—whatever surveillance technique they used was simply too good, or too large, or... she didn't know. But she could cast a broad enough genjutsu to confuse it. For several hours, she could be everywhere in Rain, all at once.
It was still risky, which was why she also paired it with an illusion that layered over her Ryouta mask. She was Ryouta, and over that, she was a relatively wealthy civilian lady she'd copied from the market, and over that, she was wearing a little seal carved into the back of an amulet, a low level genjutsu for hiding skin blemishes.
If someone—Kakuzu, obviously, because it wouldn't be Hidan—managed to sense her genjutsu, she could surrender the amulet, and that distraction would allow her to drop a little illusion over him, a veil so delicate he'd never even see it.
For anyone else, holding onto four separate genjutsu techniques all at once might be a challenge. But Ryouta had been a missing-nin, and, more importantly, a freelance criminologist specialising in missing-nin, for almost thirty years now. She would never attain half her data if she'd been unable to observe and record her subjects. And her subjects hated to be observed.
She'd been the best genjutsu master in Waterfall by the time she was twelve, and she had only improved since leaving that village.
She flicked a senbon at an urn of hot water to cause a little distraction. A child yelped in startled pain as the ceramic broke, and she took the opportunity to lift a cute brooch off a woman's lapel, because why not? And then she became the civilian lady as she passed through a narrow walkway between stalls, just as everyone was distracted by the broken urn.
She emerged from the market a foot shorter and much less threatening, clutching her bag to her side as she went. Her footsteps were quick and her eyes were cast downwards.
Hidan, ahead of her by two hundred paces, did not notice. He was gnawing a deep fried water bug leg, rolling the snath of his giant scythe on one shoulder so the blades twirled dizzily against the black and red cloud design of his Akatsuki cloak, and strolling along as though he hadn't a concern in the world.
A few years ago, she would have thought that he seemed not to notice and that he was playing a long game whose central goal was to drive her paranoid. But time and experience had given her more insight. Hidan really, truly, did not know when he was being followed.
She had, occasionally, seen Kakuzu point out other followers to him—not her, obviously—and usually with an air of faintly murderous exasperation. Hidan never cared. He was... extremely confident in his immortality.
She followed him through the dreary rundown village of Rain, keeping her distance and tracking him mostly by chakra instead of by actually watching him. His eventual stopping point took her, as she expected, directly to Kakuzu. He was an unmistakable character in the grey weather: tall, with powerful shoulders, bare arms shamelessly displaying Waterfall's old prison tattoos, and the most hostile chakra on the planet.
She knew pair would almost certainly end up in a nearby teahouse, because Hidan was a grade-a whiner and he couldn't be stopped by the paltry forces of death.
Ryouta—in her disguise as a civilian whose name she didn't know—gave the missing-nin a wide berth and ducked her head as she walked straight past the pair. If she predicted them well enough, and went into the teahouse before both of them, she would allay most concerns that they might be being followed.
Outside, the pair were having their usual reunion: Kakuzu a murderous little cloud of angry chakra, Hidan a loud, running commentary of his own exploits.
"Oh, here, I got free shrimp," Hidan offered.
"That's not a shrimp," Kakuzu growled.
She couldn't actually see Kakuzu's face as she was moving towards the back of the store, but his tone wasn't very promising.
"They're all just bugs," shrugged Hidan, slouching into his own seat and cramming it into his face instead. "Fried water bug, shrimp. Fried scorpion, shrimp. Fried yabby, shrimp."
Without any indication that this riveting conversation drifting in from outside concerned her, she flagged down the server for a pot of tea and settled inside the teahouse's main room with her notebook and pen, writing down the details of the date and time and location, was well as a little context from her prior observations.
Kakuzu was at least eighty six years old, by the records of his own village (which was once her village, so she came by the information honestly), so there was a lot to contextualise her notes. His career was really what had set her teenaged self on the path to a criminological study of missing-nin.
The thing about missing-nin was that they lived and died by their professional networks. They needed to form trustworthy interpersonal bonds to ensure they kept up to date with vital industry intelligence (gossip), to hear about new jobs, and to ensure they were negotiating their work at a reasonable market price. The stereotype of the lone missing-nin who trusted nobody was based on a real phenomenon, but rarely did it apply to successful missing-nin, where success was measured by longevity and professional achievements.
Missing-nin who lived like aggressive, paranoid hermits actually experienced lower life expectancies and poor mission outcomes, even compared to other missing-nin. She knew because she'd completed several rounds of observation, data collection and analysis to come up with the theory.
Her study had involved tracking and following thirty two missing-nin, careening across the continent at a breakneck pace, over a gruelling five year period. She would have loved to have expanded her cohort but she was, unfortunately, just one researcher doing extremely difficult and dangerous field work, and tracking thirty two people who had been trained to evade pursuit had been a massive outlay of effort on her behalf. Ten of them had been killed in the first year of her study (which was probably lucky for her), and then five had died over the subsequent four years. As far as it went, her social networking theory had held true for basically all of them. Missing-nin like Orochimaru and Momochi Zabuza, who displayed even inconsistently prosocial attitudes towards other missing-nin, were almost always better off over the five year period of her study.
Except Kakuzu.
Kakuzu was a really significant outlier. She'd been watching him for a long, long time.
He was successful, he had lived a long time, and he showed very little prosocial behaviour. A personal professional network had built up around him like the nacre of a pearl, with him the grit at its centre.
She had her theories about that, too. Kakuzu had got to be so old by borrowing time and chakra from others' hearts and becoming virtually indestructible by way of his kinjutsu, and it allowed him to outlive every one of his contemporaries. She had not been studying missing-nin back when he had become one, but the world had been quite different at that time—hidden villages had been only lately established in a much less stable professional landscape. It was possible that different traits had been more valuable in missing-nin at that time, accounting for his ability to establish himself in that era.
Then again, possibly they had valued exactly the same things. Perhaps if you only doggedly killed everyone who got close to you, and worked very hard to become functionally immortal, you would eventually build up a professional reputation regardless of your character.
She didn't know.
She did know that Kakuzu was within the top two per cent of earners across her study (assuming some room for error), and enjoyed a strong professional reputation among missing-nin and bounty collectors while going virtually unnoticed by the big five villages—even by Leaf, whose Shodaime Hokage he had once tried to assassinate. A clerk had simply decided at some point that Kakuzu must have been dead and removed him from their active records, was the working theory.
She tapped her notebook, outwardly preoccupied, as Kakuzu and Hidan finally came into the teashop. They didn't look at her, although they surely knew she was there. If they really wanted to talk about something secret, probably they would just tell her to leave. Akatsuki were in the employ of Rain, after all... technically. They could do that.
It may not have appeared likely to a casual observer, but Hidan was the person with whom Kakuzu was friendliest. His ability to bounce back from drownings, stabbings and decapitations gave him real staying power.
At first she hadn't liked Hidan. She'd been following Kakuzu for thirty years, keeping track of his absolutely absurd shinobi career, and initially Hidan had represented an intrusion into the private lifestyle she shared with Kakuzu. But he was not obstructive, and once she realised Kakuzu quite liked him, she'd come around on him a bit.
It was selfish of her, she later decided, to resent Kakuzu's young man. Besides, Kakuzu didn't know he was sharing his life with her—perhaps he was lonely.
They were a delight to watch from her quiet corner of the teahouse, really. Kakuzu acted so cold, leaning against the back wall, sipping hot water and grunting a disinterested counterpoint to Hidan's wild gestures and loud commentary. But she felt he was unusually tolerant and engaged, comparatively.
The pair appeared to be waiting for another pair of missing-nin. That was interesting, and lent further credence to the idea that the Akatsuki were centrally organised in Rain. Perhaps they even were Rain? She wasn't sure about the mysterious undead leader, but Konan would have fit right in with the rest of them...
Her observations really went pear shaped when the other two missing-nin walked into the tea house. Hoshigaki Kisame she was pretty familiar with, and he wasn't the problem. It was the other guy.
Uchiha Itachi swept the cloth covering the doorway out of the way with one hand, ducked into the teahouse, and immediately looked straight at her in her corner.
The worst part was, it wasn't as if he actually broke her genjutsu. There was no flaw in it, no place to apply pressure. Her genjutsu was good. Itachi just saw straight through all the visual elements of it with his unholy burning eyes.
He paused in the doorway and said, "I think you are not meant to be here," and then she looked him full in the face and fainted.
--
"What's your name?" said Uchiha Itachi, the moment she regained consciousness.
She recognised Kakuzu immediately, looking fierce over his shoulder. Hidan next, then Kisame. Really, Uchiha Itachi took her the longest to put a name to, of all of them. He had not been on her radar at all—as missing-nin, the Uchiha bloodline had seemed, unfortunately, too dangerous to include in her studies. And then he'd gone and killed them all anyway, which had seemed to make it a bit of a moot point in a representative sample...
She swallowed. He was waiting for an answer.
Who was she today? Where was she? She blinked rapidly. Teahouse. Sprawled on the table. Lying on her back, surrounded by looming missing-nin. Tea cooling on her belly, not yet cold. No sounds from the staff. Memory rose like bubbles in water.
"Ryouta," she said, finally.
Someone grabbed her by the hair—her REAL hair!—and shook her. "That's not a girl's name."
"Don't touch my fucking hair," she snarled, wrenching her head around. It was Hidan's hand buried in her glossy red curls. Of course it was Hidan. She snapped her teeth at his offending hand, close enough that he yanked his fingers back.
Itachi looked at Hidan, and for just a moment he seemed unable to hide his expression of profound disdain. That was interesting, she thought. Itachi clearly thought he was better than Hidan. Fair enough. So did she. But she would bet Hidan didn't agree with that assessment. She wondered if he knew?
He probably did know. Hidan was oblivious to his surroundings but he had strong interpersonal skills. He picked up on nuances in Kakuzu's behaviour that honestly shocked her.
She glanced between the two, thoughts racing, and then settled her gaze on Itachi. He was the most dangerous to her. She needed to pay attention to him, to be compliant with him, to flatter his ego.
"I haven't had a name in decades."
"I don't recognise her," Kakuzu interjected. She wished this was an opportunity to interview him. What he must remember! But it pretty clearly wasn't the time. "We'll get nothing for her head."
"Waterfall isn't shy about posting bounties. She must not be very important. A small fry, huh...?" Kisame mused. "Well, everyone likes to make a reputation somehow." This idea seemed to amuse him greatly. He showed all his sharp teeth when he smiled.
She knew quite a bit about Kisame, as he was another of her study participants. She had watched his missions and negotiations several times, following quietly in his wake of his large-scale destruction.
But Kakuzu's eyes had narrowed. "No. I didn't sense your genjutsu." He looked towards Kisame, who also shook his head.
If Kisame had sensed her genjutsu she would have had to quit her job. He had so much chakra she could have walked by his side, right in step, and hidden herself beneath its friendly shadow. He would never have known she was there.
Except, well, of course he would have, because now he was travelling with Uchiha Itachi, apparently.
Itachi had taken her amulet, the one inscribed with a vanity seal to hide skin blemishes. He peered at it for a few seconds, and then he looked up at her face again. The sharingan really were demonic to look at, black pinwheels spinning lazily against a red so bright it seemed to glow. The sky probably turned that colour at dawn on the apocalypse.
"I doubt she's a small fry," he said. He had one of those deep voices, the kind that didn't so much 'say,' as 'intone.' Each sentence a gonglike proclamation. Ugh. "What's in this?" He waved her notebook.
She clicked her tongue. "Notes. For my research."
"People who are lying—even shinobi—tend to have certain tells. Humans are naturally afraid of being caught telling falsehoods. Their sweat changes. Their pulse beats faster. They blink more rapidly. They change their rate of eye contact. My eyes can capture all these things. But you..." He tapped the notebook against his palm. "...do not have those tells."
"I'm telling the truth."
"Were you telling the truth when you said your name was Ryouta?"
She shrugged. "A truth."
Hidan scoffed loudly.
"What's the key?" Itachi looked down at her. "You can tell me, or we will discover it on our own eventually."
They would. It wasn't a very hard code. Her notes weren't really that secret. She published her work eventually. She just didn't want to get caught writing them, so she coded them, and then they could have been anything. Mission report. Love notes. Who knew?
With a deep sigh, she told him.
He thumbed through the book. At his level, it really only took him a few minutes to piece together whole sentences. Slowly, his expression changed from confusion to understanding to confusion again. This book wasn't especially important. It had only a few notes about the really big outliers from her most recent five year study, and the tally of negotiations at the back. She always tallied negotiations she saw—because every two years, she produced a record of mission prices for missing-nin, copied them by hand and pamphleteered in dive bars across the continent. Industry research was to be shared, after all.
"You observe a great many missing-nin," Itachi said slowly. He flipped back. Paused. "...A great many. A greater number than I would expect."
He handed her notebook off to Kakuzu, who buried his face in it immediately.
"Everyone needs a hobby..?"
Kisame snorted. "Some hobby."
"This might be the most boring thing I've ever heard," Hidan said, in a worrying tone of mounting dissatisfaction.
"She's been watching you, too, fool," said Kakuzu. That was kind of unfair: she only paid attention to Hidan because he was attached at the hip to Kakuzu. Otherwise, Hidan was another dime-a-dozen missing-nin, distinguished only by his little immortality trick. You got ninja like that, sometimes—incredible combatants who were really one trick ponies, but won all the time anyway because it was one hell of a trick.
"What!" Hidan yelped. "Show me."
"...What makes you think Orochimaru is pretending to be the Yondaime Kazekage?" Itachi asked then, distracting her.
"Ah... Well, he was part of the five year study. I'm just following up on outliers right now. He definitely killed Rasa, but I'm honestly not sure why he's pretending to be him. I theorise he's enjoying bonding moments with the Kazekage's children while wearing their dad's skin."
The bonding moments were genuinely pretty wholesome. That was part of the joyous cruelty of it, probably: Orochimaru didn't mind playing the long game, and he just loved to get a reaction.
"The five year study," Itachi repeated.
"I haven't published it yet. My recent work has been tracking the correlation between prosocial behaviour in missing-nin and professional success and longevity across five years. Orochimaru in particular has proven... erratic."
Kisame, who had stood back to loom behind Itachi, gave a rusty laugh. "Erratic, huh."
Kakuzu, though, had gotten to the back of the book—where her notes on pricing were.
"You," he snarled. He jabbed a finger towards her. "You write the cost list."
His chakra leeched like poison into the air, flooding them all with killing intent.
I am in danger, she thought, with every last squealing cell in her body.
"Ohh," said Kisame. "That."
"Who cares about that," said Hidan, scowling furiously. "She wrote that I'm an idiot!"
She probably wasn't going get a better opening than that. She flexed her own chakra.
"It's not like I'm alone in that opinion. Uchiha Itachi has been looking at you like you're an idiot for the last ten minutes."
Hidan sneered. "Nice try."
"She's right," intoned Itachi's deep voice.
His head snapped up. "What did you say?"
"That's a scary face," Itachi's voice mused. His red eyes spun faster. "Do you think you can beat me with just your skills, Hidan?"
Of course, Itachi himself actually did none of these things. But Hidan obviously did know what Itachi thought of him, after all, because he believed them totally.
Thank god.
She manufactured a sniffing noise from Kakuzu, which was as close as she'd ever heard him get to actually laughing. Hidan, she knew, valued Kakuzu's regard, and he was as close to having it as anyone ever had been. If she was right, thinking that Itachi had insulted him and Kakuzu was amused by it was going to hit all of Hidan's berserk buttons.
She was right.
Hidan lunged—and not at her, but at Itachi.
Which meant that the only person who was a real threat to her genjutsu skills was suddenly very occupied. Phew!
The room exploded into noise as everyone reacted to Hidan's sudden attack.
She pulled layer upon layer of illusions over herself as she rolled off the table, and then she hugged one of the walls, camouflaged like a chameleon, and darted away.
Getting out of Rain was her first priority. Then, she'd fix whatever Hidan had done to her hair—her scalp was still sore where he'd yanked on it, ugh. And then she guessed she'd write down what she remembered of her notes.
It certainly wasn't worth going back for them.

Naruto Reaction - Seeing Your Natural Hair Pt. 2 (Lee, Choji, Kiba & Neji)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
First request in a while! Ngl this was so self-indulgent (hence why its so long jsnsnssk) This is for all my fellow peeps embracing their natural hair!
Link to Pt 1.
Please don’t forget to like/reblog!
Neji
You were spending the night with him. He had insisted. A late night mission led to Konoha 11 checking into a very overbooked hotel. This said mission also left you with a nasty gash on your shoulder, which Sakura had stitched up and promised it wouldn’t scar.
As always, Neji felt responsible for you and wanted to make sure you were okay throughout the night. You were absolutely fine but Neji couldn’t be swayed. He wanted you two to share a room and so you did. It was okay, really. The bed was plush and comfortable and had many pillows that you could sink into.
Neji sat on the edge of the bed looking at you intently and leant forward until he was properly laying down. He propped his head up on his hand, staring at you as you snored softly. Tufts of hair were sticking out of your bun and your edges had fluffed up cutely. He reached out to stroke your head. It was springy and porous and god, you were just beautiful. It was your first night next to him and he wanted to memorise every single coil.
Rock Lee
You were a blooming flower, his blooming flower. He hadn’t seen you in a day and that was a day too long. You typically took a day off for ‘wash day’ - just so you could have enough time for your shampooing, clay mask, conditioner aaand deep conditioner (yes, Lee, those are two different things).
Lee had left Tsunade’s office a little earlier than usual so he thought he’d stop by at your place with some pizza. You opened the door and he blushed. You had a bright pink towel over your shoulders and your wet tresses dangling against it. Your hair was bright blue, your natural colour which complemented your cool, brown skin. “You brought pizza!” You exclaimed, pulling him out of his trance. He chuckled nervously and you grinned up at him and jumped to smooch him on the cheek. He was so smitten.
Choji
You had tasked Choji with helping you take down your braids. To your surprise, he was very excited to help. You sat in between his legs, your back leaning against his knees as his hands hovered above your head working swiftly at each braid. You looked down and chuckled at the pile of braiding hair beside you getting bigger whilst your head began to feel lighter. You sighed, it felt great having someone else take your box braids out for you. Choji’s hands occasionally grazed against your scalp, their warmth almost lulling you to sleep. “Love, your hair is so fluffy!” He gleamed as he bumped the top of your head before twirling a strand around his finger. It bounced back, perfectly in shape. He could feel your shoulders slump and your neck relax before you let out soft snores. He chuckled and nuzzled his face into all of your hair, its floral scent making him sigh.
Kiba
The great Inuzuka (he insists you call him that, nerdy, I know) had promised to teach you how to swim one day and today was indeed, that day. He was wading in the pool, when you eventually strolled out. He was hypnotized by your beauty as you entered the pool. Your corkscrew hair laid delicately against your shoulders. He coughed nervously.
“Right, so we’ll start with getting comfortable with your face being in the water.” You nodded apprehensively.
“Hey, I will be right here with you, okay? Nothing will happen” He said as he put his hand on your shaking shoulder.
You nodded again, took a deep breath and dunked your head down, rather hurriedly. You must’ve panicked, as you spluttered and rushed your head up causing you to stumble against your feet and fall back-first. “Shit!” Kiba exclaimed.
He managed to catch you before you sank backwards. “I’ve got you…” he mumbled, pulling you by your waist, holding you close. He scanned your face. You were no longer breathing heavily and you managed to give him a relaxed smile. Your hair was dripping wet, your curls gently tucked behind your ears. Your hair was much longer when wet, just about under your shoulder blades. He had never seen your natural hair wet before. You looked ethereal. “You look like a mermaid” he breathed out as he cupped the back of your head leaning closer into you.

Sakura and Sasuke returning to the village after their time away, Sarada tucked up under her mother’s cloak to keep her warm and out of the sun.
Naruto, sprinting up to the gates because he heard they were back: SASUKE, SAKURA! You guys are finally back! I have so much to tell you!
Sakura: I always told you we’d be back! Just had some detours along the way.
Sasuke, arm around Sakura’s shoulder being very protective husband and father: Be grateful we’re back as soon as we are.
Kakashi, having strolled up to greet his former students: We should be wishing you a congratulations, I received your request for a marriage certificate.
Naruto, pouting: Yeah! I can’t believe my best friends got married without me.
Sakura, blushing: We were traveling all over, it wasn’t sensible! Thank you all the same.
Sarada begins crying due to her mother’s shouting.
Naruto, looking around for Hinata and Boruto: Where’s that crying coming from? Hinata isn’t here. Oh, you guys gotta meet Boruto, he’s the coolest baby, y’know?
Sasuke, uncovering Sarada so Sakura can soothe her, he runs his hand over her hair: It’s Sarada, dobe.
Kakashi and Naruto: Sarada?!
Naruto: You guys had a baby? And didn’t tell ANYONE???
Sakura, sheepish: We wanted her to be a surprise?
Kakashi, smirking: You two clearly kept yourselves busy.
Sakura, blushing bright red: KAKASHI-SENSEI!
Naruto, grinning: She looks about Boruto’s age, they can be best friends! Maybe one day we’ll be in-laws! *Smirks at Sasuke*
Sasuke, glaring: Over my dead body, and probably yours too.

Also, Choji is 100% someone who'd call everyone chica regardless of age or gender
———————————————————————
     My shoes eagerly tap against the pavement as I race forward, beelining toward Choji. A sigh and a 'Be careful!' spill from Shikamaru as he strolls after me, eyes glancing around for possible dangers he's not going to find.
"Cho!" I cheer, body slamming into the man who barely moves from my actions. "I didn't you were coming too!"
"Naruto invited me this morning. He didn't want to third wheel," he explains, lifting me off my feet a bit before settling me in front of his friend. "You shouldn't be running ahead like that. What if something happened?"
I groan, leaning into Shikamaru as I do so. "You two seem to forget I'm a Shinobi too."
"I haven't forgotten. You're a... decent Shinobi."
"My apologies Mr Jonin. Not all of us are born with massive heads and big brains," I tease back, poking fun at Shika's higher ranking.
Naruto laughs at my joke, his obnoxiously white teeth standing out just as much as his whiskers. "The Mrs has the mouth to keep up with your insults, doesn't she Shikamaru?"
"Ya, she does," he mumbles, a hint of a smile on his face. "This is already a drag. Let's get going," he grumbles, fixing our placement on the road so I'm stuck between the line of buildings and himself.
As we walk, Cho and Naruto chill behind us and Shika occasionally bumps into me, shifting me closer to the buildings. "What's Shikamaru doing?" Naruto - attempts - to whisper, his closeness and lack of a quieter level making it easy to pick up on his words.
Choji lets out a hum, turning toward the blonde boy before shifting his focus to Shika. "He doesn't like it when he's not between the Mrs and the open public, so she's usually closest to the side."
"Oh," Naruto mumbles, confusion laced in his tone. "That's a little weird."
————————————
"This is such a drag," Shika grumbles, the voice making it to me despite the distance between us. The curtain of his dressing room snaps open, the rings on the bar shrieking as they're shifted. "What about this one?" He asks, walking out of the small room to show us the dress shirt he chose to try on.
"You look handsome in that too," I tell him, sending him a smile.
"You think I look handsome in everything," he grumbles, turning to check himself in the mirror.
"No, you don't. I think you look flushed out in purple and yellow makes your skin tone look like that of a ghost's," I counter, letting my eyes crawl up and down his back. "I liked the shirt you tried on before this one better."
"I second that," Cho pipes up from his stretched-out spot in one of the dressing room chairs.
"I'll get that one then," Shika murmurs, heading back behind his dressing curtain. "Pretty Girl?" He calls over the sound of shuffling clothes. "Can you go find Naruto for me?"
"Why?"
Shika pokes his head out from the curtain, exposing some of his chest and some of the love nicks I littered on them. "He's an idiot that dresses in bright orange most of the time. He doesn't get to pick out his formal attire."
"Ya, I can do that for you," I utter, my eyes ping-ponging between the dark shading of Shikamaru's chest.
Choji chuckles, sending a knowing glance toward his friend and getting a glare back before Shika disappears behind the curtain again. "Somebody had a good night last night," he teases, sending his knowing glance my way this time.
"Jealous much, Cho?" I tease back, standing up and glancing around the shop in search of Shika's fox friend.
"No, at the rate you two are on each other, I'm pretty sure my dick would be permanently deflated by day three."
We both laugh at that, my eyes snagging on the pointed tips of Naruto's hair. "I'll be back," I mutter, heading in the direction of said fox-n-friend. It doesn't take long for me to end up behind him, Naruto still unaware as he looks at the different bracelets, a pile of dress shirts, and slacks in his arms. "Naruto!"
     "Hey!" He barks out, turning around with his signature toothy smile on his face. "You a scared me a bit, Mini Nara."
     "Don't call me that," I tell him, a smile on my face as well, hoping to come off gentle and not angry. I'm not upset by it, it just tickles my nerves on occasion; this being one of those occasions. "I love Shikamaru and I love getting to be his wife soon, being known as his wife, but I'm still a separate person from him."
     "I didn't mean anything by it, you two just seem..." he lets out a nervous laugh, scratching the back of his head with his free hand. "Is Shikamaru done trying on clothes now?"
     "Ya, he is. He sent me out to find you so you could try on a few shirts and such."
     "Well, lead the way," Naruto says, the nervousness gone from his voice.
     I do just that, slowly heading back towards the dressing rooms, taking my time as I walk so I can look at the different items littering the shelves. A layered chain necklace catches my attention, making me stop in my tracks. I toy with the jewelry, testing out the weight and feel of it.
"What are you looking at?" Naruto asks, his head peeking over my shoulder. "Oh! That's pretty!"
"I think so too," I mutter, flipping the price tag. The necklace is only three thousand yen, but it's towards the end of the month so my allowance for unneeded personal items is pretty low. I tug it off its rack, deciding the worst that can happen is Shikamaru telling me no.
"Shika! Shika, Shika, Shika," I call, finishing my walk towards the other half of our group, Naruto and his bundle of clothes in tow.
"Pretty Girl, Pretty Girl, Pretty Girl," he calls back, tipping his head back in the chair he's slouched in. "What did you find?"
"A fox," I tease, pointing at Naruto before shaking the necklace I found. "And this pretty necklace." I lean against the chair Shikamaru is sitting in, dangling my necklace in front of his face so he can see it better.
"How much is it?" He asks, taking the jewelry from me before he turns it over. "No."
"Why?" I whine, snatching it back from him. "It's only three thousand yen."
"Ya, five hundred yen over your allowance," Shika explains, gripping my arm to tug me around the chair.
"Please?" I continue to whine, settling in the position Shikamaru has put me in. My legs are sandwiched between his, my butt resting on his leg so I'm sitting in his lap. "It's only five hundred yen over. Please? Shika!"
"I told you no. Now stop being an unpretty girl," he groans, a hand sliding against my hip, his fingertips rubbing against my side as a warning to pipe down my whining.
"Sir, please - "
Tap, tap, tap.
" - ah!" I whine, popping out a pout as I wrap my fingers around Shikamaru's that are rubbing against my new sore spot. "I'll come back tomorrow and buy it by myself then."
Tap, tap, tap. Tap, tap -
Naruto springs forward, latching to Shika's wrist and tugging it away from me. "It's not that big of a deal, Shikamaru. It's only five hundred yen over her... allowance," he says the word like he's not sure if it's real or not. "If it's that big of a deal I'll pay the difference."
Shika shakes his wrist loose, his touch jumping back to soothe my aching skin. "No, she's not getting it. She has an allowance for a reason and she's not allowed to go over that allowance. You're not getting it," he reiterates, digging his fingers into my hip harder.
"But Shika," I start, reaching up to toy with the ends of his ponytail. "It would look so good with the wedding dress ideas I have. I'm going to ask Ino and Hinata to go dress shopping with me while you're away with Lord Sixth."
With that little play, I know I won. At the moment, the only thing Shikamaru craves more than his cigarettes is seeing me walking down the aisle and exchanging our vows. "Well..." he starts, shifting his legs around, making me move around because of it too. "Fine, but you're not wearing it until you go dress shopping."
     I squirm in his lap because of my excitement, eagerly snatching his wallet when he takes it out of his pocket. I quickly scurry up to the register, paying for my new necklace before Shikamaru has the chance to change his mind. Finally, I won against him instead of losing like usual.
     I thank the cashier, taking my new jewelry, and recite before heading back toward my group. "Shikamaru!"
     "Pretty Girl," he hums, hands wrapping around my waist as I settle back into my place.
     "You should put my new necklace on," I mutter, dangling it in front of his face again.
“Wait until you try on dresses. That’s the only reason you got it. Stop testing your limits, it makes you a very unpretty girl.”
I lean forward, resting my lips near his ear. “But think of how pretty it’ll look dangling in your face as I ride you.”
Shikamaru’s jaw locks, hands clinging to me as he lets out a long, deep sigh. “You are a spoiled brat,” he grumbles, unpacking my necklace before sliding it around my neck. “Now behave yourself while we help Naruto pick out clothes.”
“Yes, Sir.”
As if Naruto’s ears were ringing, a curtain rips open, the blonde boy strutting out in a mismatched outfit. “So, what do you guys think?” He asks, doing a little circle before checking himself out in the mirror.
“Naruto,” Shika groans, scrunching his eyes as he pinches his nose. “I knew this was going to be a drag, but I didn’t know it was going to be this lame.”
————————————
I stroll down the road, safely tucked to the side like usual, but this time it's Choji on my other side with Naruto and Shikamaru walking in front of us. Cho's stomach has been growling for a couple of minutes, meaning any minute now he'll ask to stop for snacks.
"Hey, Shikamaru?" Choji calls as if he can read my thoughts. "We should pop into a store. I'm getting the munchies."
Shika sighs but does lift his head, spinning it around slowly in search of a stop. "Alright, this way," he grumbles, reaching behind him to grab my hand before he starts crossing the road. I'm happily led forward, excitement evident in the bounce to my step. "Don't trail too far away," he orders, tugging me forward so I'm led through the door with him following.
"Yes Sir!" I chirp, already eyeing the different snacks stacked in the convenience store.
Once Shika does his look over the store, he lets me go so I can walk around. "Only one sugary snack," he calls after me as I walk toward the coolers.
"Yes Sir," I repeat, settling in front of the selection of ramune. I decide on the strawberry, pulling one from the cooler before strolling away to find Choji or the 'healthy' snack section, whichever comes first.
I come across the snack section first, running into Naruto who's eyeing the seaweed chips. "Oh, hey," he greets, smiling as he looks up at me.
"Hey, Naruto," I greet back, standing next to him to look over the dehydrated fruits. Should I get the apple ones or the mango ones?
"I have a question," he mutters, grabbing the chips he's been looking at. I hum in acknowledgment, grabbing both the apple and mango bags. "Why aren't you getting pocky box? That's usually what you snack on."
"Shika said I could only have one sugary snack and I want a bubble drink more than I want a pocky box," I shortly explain, tossing him a smile as he looks down at me confused.
"Oh..."
"I'm going to go find Shikamaru," I tell him before turning on my heels, set on finding my fiancé so he can pay for my snacks.
     It doesn't take long, the nic addict being two aisles away. "Hey, Pretty Girl," he mutters, resting his arm around me, fingertips clinging to my hip bone as he looks over the different magazines. "What did you decide on?"
     "A strawberry ramune, a bag of apple chunks, and a bag of mango chunks."
     He hums in approval, gently pushing me toward the register. "Let's pay and wait outside for the other two," Shika mumbles, already pulling out his wallet. I do as requested, heading toward the front, resting my stuff on the counter, and then following him outside to wait for our friends.
     Shikamaru takes the free time to smoke a cigarette, the lit stick hanging between his lips as he opens my drink and pops open the apple bag for me. "Pretty girl," he coos, handing the bag to me.
     Giddiness fills me from the praise as I lean against the wall next to him, enjoying my treat as we wait. Half my drink, a few shared apple slices, and most of Shika's cigarette later, the bell above the door rings because Naruto and Choji leaving the store.
     "When are you going to kick that habit?" Cho asks, popping open his bag. He got a bag of potato chips, sparking my interest a bit.
     "Probably never," Shika grumbles, lifting his foot to snuff the spark on his shoe before tossing the dead stick into the trash. "I need to swing by the academy. I have a question for Shino."
     "Off to the academy!" Naruto cheers around a mouthful of the seaweed chips he got.
     "Hey, Cho?" I ask, falling into place next to Shikamaru, the two of us trailing behind our friends.
     "What's up, Chica?"
     "Can I have a handful of your chips?"
     He glances backward, eyes set on Shikamaru for a moment. "If it's fine with Shika then I don't - "
     "What does it matter if Shikamaru is okay with it?" Naruto interrupts, stopping in place, which in turn makes me stop, then Shika, and finally Choji. "She doesn't need permission on what she can and can't eat. If she wants some and Choji doesn't mind sharing that should be the end of the discussion. Shikamaru shouldn't get a say in it."
We all stand there, staring at him and blinking. "Ya, okay," Choji finally says, slowly turning his focus towards Shika. "Can she have some?"
"That's fine. Just a handful or two, she had enough salt with her breakfast this morning," Shikamaru answers, starting up his steps again. With that, Cho dumps a handful of chips into my grasp.
I fall back into stride next to my fiancé, eating my way through my portion of chips. "Hey, Shika?" I ask once I'm done, dusting the crumbs off my hands. He hums, eyes glancing down at me. "Naruto doesn't know that we're..."
"No, I don't think he's picked up on it yet."
————————————
"Shikamaru!" Naruto screams, slamming Shika's office door open before he storms in.
"Naruto," Shika sighs, rubbing his temples as he slowly looks up from his work. "We just spent the whole afternoon together. What could you possibly need from me?"
     "I don't like how you treat your Mrs!" He continues to yell, stamping over to the desk before settling in place on the other side. I sit up straight from the spot I've been lying and reading in. This will be interesting.
     "What?" Shikamaru asks, rubbing his temples faster as if that'll make Naruto disappear.
     "I don't like how you're treating your future wife!" The blonde repeats, crossing his arms over his chest and nodding his head in agreement with himself. "You control too many of her choices. You shouldn't have that much control over your wife's life. She should live it how she wants without you making all her decisions for her."
     Shika relaxes in his chair, leaning back, hands knotted on his chest, and a smug smile on his face. "Oh ya?"
     "Yes! If your lady wants to buy something for herself she should. If she wants to eat something she should be able to without your permission. She is an adult, an independent young lady, and a pretty good chunin." Shika nods his head along with Naruto's rant, his smugness only growing the longer the ramble goes on. "And - "
     "Naruto," Shikamaru interrupts, his eyes flickering toward me to check if I'm paying attention. He softly smiles at me when he notices where my focus is, soon switching his focus back to his friend. "I assure you my lady is more than fine with the ways our relationship works."
     "I don't think she is," Naruto huffs, reinforcing his 'angry face' that mostly makes him look like a smushed dumpling.
     "My Mrs is more than happy with our situation. She's the one that wanted it set up how it is."
     "Why would anyone want someone else making all their decisions for them? Tracking everything they do?"
     Shika hums softly, glancing at me for a second. "Our relationship dynamic helps my Pretty Girl take care of herself. Some side effects of her mental situation make it hard for her to monitor things like her spending, food intake, sleep schedule, and even her self-care. Having a DDLG setup helps her take care of herself and I like taking care of her so it works for the both of us."
     Naruto stays quiet for a second, slowly blinking as he looks at Shikamaru. "D-D-L-G?" He mutters, uncrossing his arms.
     "It stands for daddy dom and little girl. We don't use those titles because they're a little..." Shika scrunches his nose during his stalled speech. "Different names just work better for us."
     "It just sounds like you're controlling her."
     "It's not," Shikamaru mumbles, shifting so his head is propped on his arm. "I just take on a sort of caregiver role. I set up rules and expectations for her, things like healthy eating habits and keeping up on chores and such."
     "So, what? If she doesn't sweep the floor you hit her or whatever?" Naruto mumbles, referring to the taps I got earlier in the day for my meltdown in the store.
     "I don't consider it hitting."
     "Your hand made contact with your fiancé's body. That's hitting."
     Shikamaru shrugs, his eyes falling closed as he thinks over how to explain it. "I don't consider it hitting because if my Pretty Girl ever said stop I would. Instantly. No matter what it is. I don't do anything to her that she's not okay with. Everything I do is stuff she's asked me to do or something we agreed would help her."
     Naruto shifts in his spot for a while, rolling Shika's words over in his head. "So like... you act like... like her dad and... her husband?"
     "Sure, Naruto."
     "And she's fine with it? All of it?" Shikamaru shakes his head yes, letting out a soft sigh as he does so. "And if tomorrow she woke up and went 'I don't want you telling me what I can and can't eat'...?"
     "I wouldn't anymore. Like I said, I don't do anything she doesn't want me to do. Everything is on my Pretty Girl's ruling. It might seem like I'm in charge but I'm not, at all. She's the boss, I'm just here for the ride."
     "Oh... well... that's good," Naruto mumbles, being a bit dumbfounded. "Sorry for meddling."
     Shikamaru shrugs again, a soft smile on his face. "I don't mind. I like knowing I'm not the only one looking out for her. Besides, Choji almost beat my ass the first time he saw me tap her hip so I appreciate you talking to me instead of attacking me."
     "Ah... okay... I'm... I'm going to leave now," Naruto mumbles, pointing toward the door before turning in his heels.
     Once he's out the door, I burst into laughter. "What the actual hell was that?"
     "Naruto at his best," Shikamaru answers, another soft smile on his face. "Come here Pretty Girl, I want to hold you."
     "Yes Sir!" I chirp, jumping up from my spot.

Happy Five Sentence Ficlet Friday! I hope you have a relaxing weekend ahead of you with good weather!
Shikamaru/Naruto
Hi, stargazer! Thank you. The weather is finally supposed to be warm enough to melt the snow. *Fingers crossed*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nara Shikamaru barges into the Hokage’s office—if it can even be called barging at the pace he’s moving at—and glares at the Rokudaime Hokage. “If you keep stealing my pillow, Lord Sixth, I’m going to accidentally lose all the paperwork you’ve completed this month and make you do it all again,” he threatens.
Hatake Kakashi eye-smiles and says, “My cute little genin—”
“Naruto is a jōnin now, Lord Sixth, and if you keep summoning him during nap time, I’ll convince him to defect. Gaara would be delighted to have us,” Shikamaru says before tucking his hands in his pockets and strolling back out of the office with a slouch, ignoring the tittering giggles behind him.
Sunk in Familiarity - Kakashi Hatake x Reader
Tumblr media
Jesus christ, this went waaaay over my personal word limit.
Though! I like it enough... it's a little rushed in the end? But I think the story ends on a good note, and unless I was wanting to make a part 2 I would've done the pacing more justice.
Either way, here's some fun antics with Team 7 surrounding their lovable Sensei ^^! Hope you enjoy :))
Prompt #7: Costume
Word Count: 5.5k
✦✧✦✧
Free days were far and few between once you’d become a sensei for the Academy. Even with you having not being tasked with an individual team of genin for the foreseeable futures, a career some of your colleagues recently undertook at the request of Lord Third, your schedule wasn’t entirely open either. You didn’t mind, though; your peers still stuck to being home, or at least close to it, with only going out into the fire nation to complete D-rank missions.
Regardless of that, your job was just as important as the individual sensei’s who harbored the teams to face the rest of the shinobi world. Preparing the kids in the classroom for the field was a vital first step, one that you were responsible in helping them take.
It more so just meant you had to deal with the kids all at once instead of three at a time, work out their childish qualms with one another before sending them off to participate in missions and the rest of the shinobi-world.
Your recently graduated class had all successfully found their sensei’s with peers from your past, and all were turning into fine ninja as far as you were concerned. Antics would still rise up among the trios, today being no different in schemes from some of those familiar students among the Hidden Leaf.
“Sensei!” You were interrupted mid-stroll along the village fence by a hoarse shout from behind, the voice’s person not hard to discern.
You turned on your heel, the gleam of the kid’s recently acquired headband blinding you momentarily before you could focus on the blonde’s ferocious grin, “Hello, Naruto—“
your voice felt short with surprise in finding he wasn’t alone, you then readjusting to see his other two teammates standing over his shoulders, “Sasuke, Sakura... is everything alright, you three?”
“We need your help, M’am!” Sakura, your forever fiesty fighter spoke up, “We’ve been put on a secret mission.”
“A secret mission, you say?” This can only mean so many things, and it wasn’t against your interest to find more out, “Without Kakashi-sensei? Sounds dangerous.”
“Nevermind him.” Sasuke scoffed before taking a step forward now, pushing Naruto aside much to the other’s audible dismay, “He can’t be involved in this.”
“Oh?” You tilt your head on its side, curiously looking over each former student, “Why’s that?”
Naruto eyes you cautiously, his head snapping to the right and then to the left, him leaning to look around the back of you before again turning over his shoulder. Once all directions had been throughly checked in his better judgement, you assumed, he finally centered himself back in focusing on you. He waved his hand back in his direction, beckoning you to lean forward in which you comply to nearing the group of genin.
He cups his hand up towards your face, against the front of your ear, “It’s about Kakashi-sensei. We’re gonna finally see the face behind the mask!”
“You’re serious?” You ask quietly, a little taken aback by their goal.
Out of any scenario these three could make a mission out of, it’s not that you didn’t expect them to end up with this one. You just weren't expecting it, and your eyes grew wide in surprise as you pulled back to stare at the three—their own expressions letting you know they were all convinced with their self-proclaimed mission.
Your face slightly fell with the edge this knowledge gave you, “Oh, you’re all serious.”
“Yep!”
“Very.”
“M-hm!”
They all replied, sounding off one-by-one as if there was an order to their speech. A nervous chuckle resounded in your chest at that, your hands placing themselves on your hips.
“Well, it sounds like you’ll have some tough work ahead of you…” You hesitantly began, Naruto leaping up to cut you off with more information.
“We actually already have help from others!” He claimed once airborne, the kid then landing and taking your hand in his smaller, calloused one, and tugging you back slightly, “He was the one who told us to come find you!”
No longer innocently playing along, the fact that another ninja from the leaf had specifically told Team 7 to find you made you beyond suspicious. All would be quelled, though, when the man Naruto was regarding stepped out from behind the tree a few feet away.
Eyes narrowing in caution, you raised a brow in the person’s direction when you weren't sure who was approaching. The name was definitely lost on you, and the face was not going immediately connect with one you could remember. He was a stranger, as far as you were concerned.
He wasn’t outwardly unordinary, wearing what looked to be a green trench coat and a tan scarf wrapped around his neck and over his shoulders, a camera dangling against the front of his chest as well. He had shaggy brown hair which swept in his eyes and almost hid how grey they were now that you had progressively gotten closer to the apparent-photographer. The oddest thing about him was definitely the purple face paint that covered the lids of his eyes and fell in two elongated blocks over his cheeks, almost down towards his jaw. An imperfect mole punctually dotted right beneath the curve of his smile, making him into… what you would describe as a unique individual.
“Hello!” The ninja chimed, and it was like a ghost of someone you once knew was suddenly standing in front of you—and just as quickly, the feeling was gone. The voice before you belonged to a stranger all over again.
“Hi.” You shortly responded, the kids beside you visibly tensing at the hard tone you held, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you around the village.”
You surely hadn’t, everything happening in front of you just felt off. Like the situation itself was somehow amiss… you just couldn’t point out a valid enough reason as to why. Superstitious as ever, you were sure Kakashi would also feel similarly if he knew what was going on.
Even with your less-than-friendly greeting, the man managed to widen his smile into a grin, “No, you wouldn’t have!”
“His name’s Sukea!” Naruto spoke back up from your side, grabbing your attention to dilute it from the scarfed man, “He’s wanting a scoop.”
“… A scoop?” You repeat, raising an unimpressed brow in the adult’s direction—him finally letting out a nervous laugh.
“I—I’m a photographer, you see!” Sukea brought his camera up from his chest, motioning it towards you, “Trying to get the latest and greatest documented from the five great nations. Simple as that.”
“Simple?” you huff an irritated grunt, turning on your heel to begin walking away, “I thought you three were better than talking to crazy strangers.”
“No, please sensei!” Naruto yanks at your arm, the force causing you to stumble back into a halt, “We need his help!”
You scoff in wanting to object to the spiky-haired boy’s whines—but you also saw how Sasuke and Sakura looked up at you with a similar yearning. Saying no to three was much more difficult than just one, and you slumped at the thought.
“So, why need me if you have him anyway?” you cautiously ask.
The kids all gave each other hopeful looks before again regarding you, a new note of excitement within their manner. One you found to be maybe a little too visible, and you swore you heard the self proclaimed photographer snicker.
“Sensei…” Sakura started, in responding to your question, “You really don’t know?”
You shook your head, confused enough as it was. Not fully grasping a solid plan as to how your talents would even begin to help discover what stay hidden beneath Kakashi’s mask. There must’ve been something you were missing, the three genin smirking now in your direction before looking back to Sukea. He had stepped even closer now, a similar smirk like the kid’s mirrored on his features.
Evermore growing in your confusion, the look on Sukea’s face further added frustration to your list of feelings. And now, him being a complete stranger wasn’t the issue—he clearly knew too much for your liking that really became your annoyance with him. Like he was in on the biggest secret this whole mission could have, and was only stringing you and Team 7 along for his entertainment.
“Am I supposed to?” You countered—not towards Sakura. Your eyes were glued to Sukea, challenging him to laugh if he would.
“Sukea pointed it out to us yesterday.” Sasuke interrupted this time, his arms stiffly crossing over his chest, “The way Kakashi-sensei acts around you.”
“He what?!” You shouted back, jaw slack and definitely shattered at your feet below you, “You guys were spying on us?!”
“No, no, not them.” Sukea took a step forward, the nervous smile pulled back over his features, “Just me.”
“You.” The edge in your tone was clear, no longer afraid in offending now knowing you were facing your stalker, “Why the hell were you spying on us?”
“Please, it’s not…” he stumbled, as if looking for the right words to say, “I wasn’t doing it to be a creep.”
“Well, you failed on that end. Clearly.”
The photographer fretfully voiced your name, like it were a forbidden word; and for him, you’d damn well consider it one. The airy voice he had when saying it made your skin crawl, you were throughly freaked. Even with the harsh glare you had been giving him ever since being introduced, he still spoke up your name. “Let’s clarify—It wasn’t spying. Do you even remember what you and Kakashi were doing yesterday?”
Of course you knew what the two of you had done yesterday. You had been looking forward to spending time with him all week, it’d been awhile since the both of you got to spend any time together and were wanting to stop by your favorite book spot. It was just that, a nice outing followed up with some ramen for dinner. So when…
“Obviously you were hiding yourself from us yesterday.” You grumbled, now following Sasuke’s attitude in crossing your arms over yourself, “I think that fact makes it ‘stalking’.”
“Agh! Nevermind if you think it’s stalking or not!” Naruto sounded up again, the fiery kid clearly fed up with whatever conversation could be left. “Sukea says Kakashi-sensei obviously has a soft spot for you, and if we lure him out with your presence we’ll definitely be able to catch him off guard!”
Your brow furrowed now in Naruto’s direction, and the overwhelming feeling of defeat with giving in to your favorite trio’s wishes was on your horizon.
“Yeah, well how can he know that just by spying on two people for an afternoon? Hm?” You wave off the blonde boy, turning to face the three once again. “Besides, guys, I don’t think this is really a good idea. What’s so important about seeing under Kakashi’s mask? I’ve known him for years, at this rate, and still don’t know what he looks like. Does it really matter that much?”
Naruto and Sakura’s eyes blew wide whilst Sasuke merely huffed emphatically through his nose, the first two then erupting into complaints.
“Of course it matters!”
“Sensei, this could very well be the most vital information upcoming ninja like us could be getting our hands on!”
“Don’t you think since Kakashi’s our sensei now that we should see what he looks like! What if…” Naruto froze as his mind played catch up with his thoughts, and something clearly struck him, “What if we’re asked to identify a body! How would we know if it was him or not?!”
“His hair—“
“WE NEED TO KNOW!”
You flinched at the screeching children, your shoulders slouching when they finally waited for your response, even Sasuke showing little signs of anticipation for what you were going to say. It was hard to make the decision—as much as you loved helping them out, this seemed like a bad idea. And, you were looking out for your friendship with Kakashi, if he found out and got upset? Who knows what would happen between the two of you…
“You know…” You jumped at the incoming voice of Sukea again, warily then turning to glance his way, “Regardless of what happens, I think Kakashi would be proud of them for displaying teamwork with others if you were to help them.”
The suggestion didn’t really help in your decision making, but when you looked back down at Team 7 to still find their unwavering hope in gaining your support in their super, secret mission… there was really no way you could bring yourself to say no.
“…Alright,” The kids gasped in excited surprise as you finally gave in, “I’ll help… but nothing too crazy! I’m backing out if things get out of hand, and—“ You reach over the kids heads, not hesitating to snag the strange photographer by his collar; much to his surprise. “I’ll be bringing him to the Hokage, personally. Capeesh?”
Team 7 was reminded of their earlier days in classes where you’d switch out with Iruka to give the poor man a break, remembering how you’d whip the class back into shape in his absence and you weren’t worried about shaking the shinobi up a little along the way. With the fresh memory in mind, the three heads carefully nodded in response, Sukea still awkwardly leaning over them—resisting against your firm grip.
You regarded the kids once more to make sure they understood the severity of which you meant this, pushing back against Sukea to put him back behind his ‘protectors’. “Good. Let’s just hurry up and get this over with…”
Turning on your heel, you started to head back into town, mentally beginning to make a list as to where the grey-haired shinobi might have already ended up this afternoon. The kids, giggling and whispering a couple times to themselves, faintly cheered encouragingly to one another before than running to catch up with you. Sukea, thankfully, staying to walk behind.
With no telling to how this could turn out, you tried putting your best foot forward in leading you to help the kids succeed, a new hope now on your mind as well. Maybe helping them wouldn’t end in disaster, maybe you would finally see the face of the one shinobi you had always thought to be such a desirable mystery in your life. The person you never went further than asking to hang out with, the one you’d indulge in your deepest secrets with a feel safe knowing he was merely listening to you. He meant so much to you in everything you experienced alongside him, it was hard to believe you were trying to invade such a private fact about him on a random afternoon like this.
Maybe it would end up being fine, maybe he wouldn’t be upset and possibly find it funny that even adults were in on this little task. Whatever the case would be, you were now filled with a newfound eagerness to get to the bottom of this. Alongside Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura… and the odd acquaintance Sukea, what could really go wrong?
—
So many things, it turns out. So many things could end up going wrong.
The plan you and your newly-founded team had come up with seemed solid. You, seemingly innocent and harmless, would wait at the corner of town with the other four off and out of sight. In their absence, you would sit in wait for Kakashi to eventually head down the road to where he thought he was meeting Sasuke for a training lesson; instead was supposed to find you in a surprise attack of hugging him around his neck and holding him in place with Shikamaru’s shadow possession. Yes, Naruto had even gone that far to get the back up of Shikamaru, along with a handful of his other friends, if you weren’t able to get the mask off in time for Sukea to snap a photo.
It seemed simple enough, and was a whole lot better than Sukea’s suggestion to make it seem like you’d fallen into the river prompting Kakashi to come save you. No way in hell were you letting that happen in risk of mouth-to-mouth when already the idea of Kakashi in any romantic setting had you reeling in the privacy of your thoughts. That much wasn’t happening.
Even with the ‘better plan’ being anticipated to be put into action, and the help from the rest of Naruto’s newfound friends from other Teams, it still wasn’t enough. In the end, Shikamaru’s shadow possession wasn’t strong enough to last on both your’s and Kakashi’s shadow with Tenten using Shikamaru as a boost to follow after Rock Lee and Neji. What was meant to be harmless was actually the end to your full out attempt at discovering the mystery…and Kakashi was still there, masked and clearly upset with the advantages taken against him.
It was now, after running in a full out sprint and splitting up from the rest of the dashing genin that you hopefully lost the pursuing Team 7 Leader. You were gasping for air when you finally came to a stop back where you first had gotten yourself into the mess in the first place—right along the first fence, now beneath the shade of the oak tree.
Wearily, you sighed out with both hands on your hips, steadily inhaling to try and regain control of your gasping lungs. Finding it safe enough to now rest, and not wanting to seek out Kakashi in facing consequences just yet, you approached the tree’s base and promptly fell against its wood.
Quickly sliding down the tree once graced with the first bit of rest, you lay yourself out in the shade and calm from whatever the hell just happened. Tired, nervous at the idea  seeing Kakashi, the little relief you held with now being by yourself was alleviating—to say the very least.
Evidently, it wasn’t meant to last.
“Didn’t realize how fast you would be, after all that.”
You gasped at the approaching voice, eyes flying wide and snapping up in the direction of the approaching individual. It took all your willpower not to sneer in the direction of Sukea, his camera clunking softly against the center of his chest. Rolling your eyes obnoxiously, you crossed your arms over your chest and further sink to the ground. “What the hell do you still want?”
“Everyone ran away so fast, I didn’t get a chance to really apologize.” He cheekily laughed, your brow only hardening at what you assumed was his ‘innocent-guy’ act.
“Apologize?” You had a list of what you could want from him, at this rate. An apology wasn’t among the bullet points you’d already thought through.
“Yeah, you know… for wasting your time.” He gestured to your exhausted self on the ground, you snorting a humorless laugh to begin your response.
“Really?” Tilting your head on its side, you raise an eyebrow up at him, “Wasting my time?”
Sukea merely smiled at my questioning tone, his lips pressing against each other in a hard line as he peered down at you.
“Still just as suspicious of me?”
“Why would that have changed?” You frowned again, sitting up a little as he suddenly took a step closer, “It’s not like you gave me any real grounds to trust you. I only went along with it for the sake of Naruto and his team.”
“Ah, well why be so cautious of me in the first place?” Sukea stepped up to stand beside you against the tree, his arms folding over his chest this time too as he used the trunk to support his back. He was clearly waiting for a response, and you bit the tip of your tongue to keep from saying something unnecessarily rude at his taunting. “…Does it matter?”
“Sure,” Sukea shrugged, looking off towards the sky suddenly, “humor me.”
“I—You.” Stunned a little, you scoffed and waved him off suddenly; if you weren’t already fed up enough with his behavior up to this point. “You’re ridiculous.”
“And, you still haven’t answered my question.” He promptly responded, his legs suddenly folding as you found him then seated up next to you, “Do you have a good reason to be so guarded? Or, is it just stubbornness?”
It sounded like he knew people called you stubborn, or it was something he was somehow familiar with. Whatever the case may be, you finally revolted in yourself and turned to confront the photographer.
“What gives you the right way to be so rude? I mean, really. We’ve never met and—“ Sukea began chuckling at your sudden outburst, and your confusion fell apart into pure disbelief at the reaction. “I’m sorry… is something funny about this?”
“No! No, no, no, hah… not at all.” He turned to grin down at you, the stupid grin on his face making dimples slightly carve at the sides of his face. “Clearly.”
You blink in trying to regain conscious thinking in this moment, the tease he so clearly was directing at you flustering you in ways you didn’t want to be possible. Yet, here you were at his mercy… and none of it made sense. You weren’t able to reason as to why he made you feel this way, there was just something about him…
“…God, who are you?”
Sukea laughed out again, this time having to throw his head back with the sheer force of his laughter. You couldn’t help but apprehensively smile now, confounded at the ninja beside you.
“Trust me,” He huffed out softly, an all too familiar nickname of yours breathing from his lips before he turned back to you, “you know who I am. I think you have to know me better than anyone in this village, at this rate.”
There was a change in his voice, and it resounded in an all too familiar tone you could pin-point in a crowd if the circumstances called for it. Still not entirely understanding what was happening, the cogs in your brain were fervently churning in your mind. Sukea’s grin widened at the thoughtfulness riddling your features, and your heart suddenly sunk in familiarity.
“Holy shit,” You fell off the tree’s trunk and landed in the patchy grass below, your hands flying out from under you and scrambling to sit you back up at a distance this time, “no way.”
“Haha, did I get you?” ‘Sukea’s’ hand lifted over his head, fingers tangling into his seemingly brown locks before tearing at the roots; the hair pulling off his head with ease and revealing a spiky mound of grey bangs that lay beneath. There was no longer a mysterious photographer sitting beside you, your long-time shinobi friend revealing more than just his identity to you in that moment.
“Kakashi—“ You breathed, gawking very openly at the fact you were now truly facing the man behind the mask—and had been since earlier this afternoon, “why?—“
“I meant it earlier when I said I’d be happy to see you helping out my team with learning more around the importance of teamwork.” He beamed, the stupid beauty mark from earlier making your heart race now.
You wanted to grin in return, laugh along with his happiness at even the lack of success Team 7 had with their secret mission. But, you couldn’t help but stay so completely awestruck in the wake of this reveal. He was as beautiful as he always had been in your eyes, and all you wanted to do was now memorize the features before you in case it was the last time you’d ever be able to see them again. Kakashi must’ve sensed your wariness, his grin closing into a warm, sincere smile—his face pushing closer in your direction.
“Not what you expected?” He softly asked.
You scoffed at the question, shaking your head at how tickled this made you. “I mean… I guess I didn’t know what I was expecting entirely.”
From the space you had placed between the both of you, you tentatively placed a hand back in front of you and crept back towards him. He watched you with an easy stare, and arguably looked maybe the most peaceful you’d ever seen him. It made your face flush in quiet heat and nerves feel like they were pumping fire through each motion you made to close the distance between the both of you.
“…I’m sorry for antagonizing you so much, today.” Kakashi was suddenly apologizing, you huffing in surprise at how sudden it felt for you while he continued, “I did chase after you to apologize.”
“Ah,” You slowly nodded at his reasoning, now taking the chance to taunt him as he had today, “well… in that case, you’re forgiven.”
Kakashi laughed openly at your acceptance of his apology, shaking his head and letting his grey hair settle from being stuffed in the wig all day. You took another look at his eyes, suddenly confused as to how he pulled this disguise off in the first place.
“Wait, your sharingan…” You didn’t think before placing a steady hand on his face, leaning closer to try and peek at his left eye, “How?”
“The contact works as a suppressant, made with me in mind.” He calmly responded, now weaning away from your touch and instead arguably pressing into the warmth your fingertips held, “I used them to go undercover when I was still in Anbu…”
“I see,” You hummed, leaning back a little to see his face in its entirety again. It was then you registered just how forward you had acted in holding his face, and your hand quickly snapped back to your side. Shame shot flared up inside you like a burning fire, and you frantically began tripping over yourself to apologize, “I—I’m so sorry, oh my god, I wasn’t thinking, and—“
“Woah, it’s okay,” Kakashi lifted a hand to silence you in which you were quick to comply, the same hand then falling back to the one that had just been pressed against him. Delicate fingers wrapped timidly around your wrist, he too being hesitant to take whatever ‘this’ was a step too far, but regardless brought your palm back towards his face where he goaded your fingers back to his cheek and flattened your hand back against him. “I… I didn’t mind.”
Your chest felt tight in anticipation, and you had no words to explain how it all made you feel. Kakashi wasn’t rushing you to speak, he too was staring at you as he thrived in the adoration between you both. He swallowed, a quick breath as he spoke up again.
“Uh… remember when Naruto mentioned how… I act around you?”
You paused at the question, trying to recall what he had said an hour or so ago. “Yeah…?”
“Was that… uncomfortable?”
“What?” Your eyes grew wide, shocked he would even be worried about such a thing, “No… no, never uncomfortable. Not from you—Sukea? Another story.”
Kakashi chuckled again at your joking of his persona, his breath hot against the edge of your palm, fleeting just as quickly as it had appeared. It made your hair stand on end, and you shuddered softly at its touch. He watched you with his eyes now halved in appeal, studying each glimmer and gleam you produced just by existing in the space beside him. You were the diamond in his roughest of days, the light at the end of the tunnel he always hoped to reach. Instead, you were reaching out to him in this moment, physically holding him and letting that light encapsulate him fully.
Forever grateful is how he would feel in relation to you, the you who saved him when all else was lost; the you who kept him safe when you probably didn’t realize it.
“Well, then, I apologize for Sukea’s efforts in trying to help my team.” He murmured, his eyes dangerously flitting towards your parting lips, further eliciting the deep desire he held anytime you were close like this. This was the first time contact had been made, though, so what was really stopping him from going further.
Dignity? He had none left when it came to you, surely you realized that too?
“Hah, I accept.” You resounded, your thumb swiping over his cheekbone as you felt into the trance that came along with those grey contacts, “So… with your attitude differing around me, this is okay then?”
Kakashi didn’t voice a response, just softly brushing his head against your skin in a nod. This was more than okay, this might as well be a dream come true.
It was too hard to keep away any longer, the anticipation had built in both of your hearts and one finally had to brim. You swept in towards him, and took his lips in yours. His newly exposed, newly perceived lips that instantly melted to yours and made it as though fireworks resounded in the broad daylight around you both. It was so sudden, so solidifying in your heart that there was no longer denying how right you were for one another. Perfection was hardly the right word to describe how fulfilling this finally felt.
Your hand reached past his head, pressing to the shag of the hair growing towards the back of his neck—lightly tugging at the roots while he too moved to bring you in. Put you somehow closer, wanting at your hearts in one another’s chest to maybe touch if the moment allowed it to be so.
“Sensei?!” The screech of a student sounded from the end of the road, you and Kakashi leaping back at the interruption. “I think those are their feet! Over here, Sasuke! Sakura!”
“Crap!” You whispered, Kakashi already frantically moving to grab the wig he foolishly took off in broad daylight. But, he was already prepared for something like this happening, the man turning to you with a light smirk as you watched him hopelessly. “Hide, before they get here!”
“Way ahead of you~” He chuckled, a single finger pressing to his now sorely red lips in shushing you, and your cheeks warmed to another degree at the smirk he flashed before disappearing into the branches above. You took a glance and sighed at the relief in not being able to see any sign of him—the shinobi securely hidden amongst the leaves.
“Sensei!” Sakura was the first to reach you, your head flying back forward to see her approach. “We were so worried Kakashi-sensei had caught you!”
“Yeah, sensei… that was close!” Naruto bounded to her side, the two overwhelmingly worried for your sake. Sasuke didn’t look anymore bothered than he usually did, regarding you all warily.
You laughed cheerily at the troublesome genin, shaking your head gently in their direction, “No, guys. I’m fine, really… I escaped.”
The two visibly sighed in relief, Sasuke’s eyes closing to show his own sign of comfort in seeing that you were fine. You grinned, hoisting yourself up from the ground and standing before them.
“So…?” They all faced you again with the trailing off in your tone, “What’s the verdict?”
“For Kakashi-sensei?” Naruto nervously replied, awkwardly scratching at the back of his head, “Uh… I think—“
“I believe we’re done for the day.” The three shinobi jumped at the incoming voice, slowly turning to face the wrath of their Team Leader. Kakashi regarded them sternly, his cold gaze finding you and almost easing. He muttered your name, the noise muffled by his mask; you couldn’t help but smile in response.
“Kakashi.” You replied with a light nod. He put a hand on his hip, shaking his head disappointedly in your direction before turning to the three.
“What you idiots tried pulling today was incredibly rude. You should learn to respect privacy!” He lectured.
“We’re really sorry, sensei!” Sakura spoke up, “It was Naruto’s—“
You flicked the back of her shoulder as she tried pinning the blame, the smaller girl flinching in response but respectfully quieting down at the correction. Kakashi regarded her with a weary sigh, looking once more to you.
“I apologize for my team’s behavior in getting you wrapped up in their shenanigans today… I hope you can forgive them.”
“Oh, trust me,” You smiled happily in the direction of the three, the outcome maybe the best thing that had happened to you in awhile, “I already have.”
The trio frowned in confusion at how warmly you spoke now, not knowing the bright side that ended up being your now reality. Kakashi didn’t let them stand around for long, grabbing at Naruto and Sasuke’s shoulder before shoving them back in the direction of the village.
“We best be off now,” He grumbled over their whining complaints, “these three still have to report back to Hokage over their attempt of seeing me yesterday.”
They all groaned, you lightly giggled at the resistance but waved in goodbye anyway. “I’ll see you around, you guys… take care.”
“Bye, sensei…” They all replied meekly, the consequences now being faced.
Kakashi didn’t pause in walking, but instead turned lightly over his shoulder—a wink from his visible eye sent your way. You mimicked the gesture, grinning happily at the thought of seeing him later.
It was going to be sundown soon… you could only guess what this all meant from here.
Illuminated by the gentle moonlight, Naruto and Hinata strolled hand in hand through the enchanting streets of Konoha, their steps echoing with the rhythmic harmony of anticipation as they journeyed toward the doorstep of their new home.
The air was crisp, and the night held a certain magic that only those deeply in love could truly appreciate.
They had been together for a year now, navigating the twists and turns of life side by side, and tonight marked a significant milestone in their journey. The couple had taken each step at a measured pace, savoring the growth of their relationship.
Setting out on the adventure of purchasing a home and moving in together marked a significant leap for both of them.
Surrounded by thoughtfully selected furniture and shared spaces, Naruto and Hinata cherished the uncomplicated joys of living together, relishing in the delightful routine of shared meals and intimate moments as they embarked on the journey to build a better life together.
It embodied all they had ever desired, and they found joy in the realization that the steady pace of their relationship was progressing seamlessly–a promise that it would endure and eventually evolve into something even more meaningful.
During their night time stroll home, fingers entwined, Naruto found himself unable to resist stealing glances at Hinata–the love of his life. Her cheeks held a rosy hue, and her lavender eyes sparkled with a delightful mix of excitement and adoration.
Naruto felt a surge of giddiness each time he turned his head, gazing at his midnight-blue-haired beauty beside him. It stirred a sense of emotional turbulence deep within him.
He felt like an emotionally unbalanced teenager again, where every look stole his breath, leaving him eager to experience it once more. To look at her again and again.
His heart thundered wildly in his chest, a symphony of gratitude echoing for the woman by his side, who had stood by him through thick and thin.
Clad in formal attire fit to keep them comfortably warm, they had just concluded a sumptuous date at Ichiraku Ramen that left them pleasantly full.
As the night unfolded and the temperature continued to drop, the couple eagerly anticipated returning home. The prospect of indulging in some much-needed alone time beckoned, offering a chance to digest the fine meal they had shared.
However, before diving into the comforts of home, there were other plans in store.
Naruto looked up as they approached the familiar streets leading to their humble abode, the place they both could now call home.
He couldn't contain his excitement.
Naruto cheered, turning his head to spare a glance down at his lover, "Kami, can you believe we live together now, Hinata-chan?"
A broad smile illuminated his whiskered face, a grin that cannot be contained, "Now, we get to come home to one another after missions, a-and see each other every single day!" Naruto exclaimed in jubilation.
The blonde ninja's excitement was palpable, his lips set wide in a boyish grin, and his whiskered cheeks elevated in sheer joy.
The profound happiness Naruto felt in this moment was unparalleled. The very idea of coming home to someone, living with someone he loved, and having that person committed to caring for his every need filled him with an indescribable sense of elation. It was an experience he had never known before, a departure from the loneliness that had characterized much of his life.
The realization that he was no longer alone, coupled with the certainty that Hinata stood by him, prepared to join him in creating a shared home and life together, brought so much happiness that Naruto felt like he was on the verge of exploding.
The presence of Hinata, residing with him, became a constant affirmation that his life was veering onto a path he had always dreamed of.
He couldn't possibly contain his happiness, not in the slightest.
So, before Hinata could utter a single word, Naruto quickly reached over and swept his strong arms around her, lifting her off her feet and cradling her bridal style, propelled by an outburst of uncontrollable enthusiasm.
Hinata responded with laughter, her cheeks ablaze with embarrassment caused by Naruto abruptly sweeping her off of her feet, her long midnight blue hair fluttering through the cool wind, draping down from her orange, bushy toboggan.
Naruto, caught up in the joy of the moment, then began to spin her around and around within his arms along the sidewalk, causing her white winter jacket to sway to and fro in the rhythm of their shared delight.
"Naruto-kun!!!"
"Isn't that great, Hina?"
"Yes! It's amazing, Naruto-kun! It's a dream come true, my love!" Hinata exclaimed amid laughter, her arms tightly wrapped around his neck, her head pressed against his chest as he spun them both.
Round and round he spun, the cool wind rushing to embrace their faces. Yet, the burning sensation of their smiles and the rosy hue of their cheeks brought warmth, a surge of adrenaline coursing through their veins, amplifying the happiness within them.
Taking the initiative to further kindle their warmth, Hinata moved forward, surprising Naruto as she planted her lips firmly upon his own, initiating a kiss that stopped him in his tracks.
His spinning came to a halt almost immediately.
The kiss Hinata initiated was nothing short of passionate, a fervent embrace that brought them even closer together, something they've yearned to be every ounce of each day.
The kiss ignited warmth within their bodies amid the nightly winter chill. Their heads intertwined, and their clothed bodies pressed close together, creating an intimate connection that transcended the coolness of the season.
The kiss, though brief, marked only the beginning of the very intimate night ahead of them, and Naruto, unwilling to part from Hinata, continued to carry her all the way to their home.
He held her close as he stepped off the sidewalk, traversed their lawn, and took a halt in front of their shared residence.
Adorning the door was a gracefully crafted winter wreath, proudly displaying their intertwined names: Naruhina.
Below, a charming welcome mat lay, its inviting message declaring:
"Love and ramen–the heart of our home sweet home!"
-The Uzumaki Family
The mat, with its warm hues, offered a humorous invitation, creating an immediate sense of comfort as one stepped into Naruto and Hinata's shared haven.
The intricately designed wreath echoed the season's spirit, with delicate touches of frost-kissed leaves and subtle accents of love, symbolizing the union of Naruto and Hinata, displayed for all to see.
Before their home, Naruto carefully set his precious girlfriend down, allowing her to land before the door with a clatter of her boots, regaining her standing once more.
With a cheerful exclamation, Naruto hopped back upright, wearing the same broad grin as before, "Whew! Well, this is our stop: home at last!"
Hinata pulled one hand up in front of her mouth, giggling sweetly, "Oh, you're so cute when you're excited, Naruto-kun. Just hold on, let me fetch the keys." She declared, before leaning down to shift the welcome come over, to locate their home's key tucked beneath.
However, before she could secure it, a warm hand suddenly clutched her moving arm, halting her in her tracks.
She lifted her body up, turning her head, only to be greeted by a subtle smile from her blonde boyfriend, his cerulean gaze carrying a sudden solemnity.
He smiled warmly, a hint of red tinting his tanned cheeks due to the cold. His blonde locks were neatly tucked under a white toboggan resting on his head, while an orange winter coat embraced his broad form—colors intentionally chosen by the two to create a harmonious and complementary blend in their attire.
"Um, before we go inside…" Naruto started off, "I have something I've been wanting to give you."
His voice lowered, the coolness of the outdoors turning his breath visible as he spoke. There was a noticeable shift in Naruto's voice, an undertone of nervousness evident in his words.
Naruto brought one hand up to rub the back of his neck, attempting to soothe the mounting nervousness within him as his lover's gaze bore into him.
The moment has arrived.
The moment has come, to finally reveal the surprise he had worked so hard to craft and put together.
But, he was so nervous.
Surprised by Naruto's earlier declaration, Hinata gasped and with that, abandoned the search for their home's key. Instead, she pivoted away from the door to fully face Naruto.
"Hm? There's s-something you wanted to give me, Naruto-kun?" She repeated, tilting her head, an adorable expression.
"Y-Yeah." Naruto responded with a nod, "You know, I'm not good at pl-planning or, um, surprises for that matter. I've never done anything like this before, but I wanted to do this one thing for you."
Naruto was nervous, it wasn't hard for Hinata to tell.
His current demeanor mirrored hers when she felt uneasy or flustered, yet instead of tapping his fingers together like her habitual gesture, he found solace in rubbing the back of his neck—a nervous habit uniquely his own. It was so cute, and Hinata couldn't resist a giggle at his adorableness.
Hinata perceived that whatever Naruto had in store for her must be quite the surprise, as it even caused him, typically composed, to feel nervous. Her heart began to thump in her chest, filled with anticipation.
Hinata watched as he delved into the pocket of his orange winter coat, retrieving the only object that was inside. Hinata glanced down at his fallen hand in response, curiosity and excitement growing within her for what Naruto had in mind.
Hinata bit her lip, "Wh-What is it, my love?"
It was only then that Naruto finally revealed the surprise he had in store for Hinata, holding it up in his hand.
"This, Hinata-chan."
It was only then that Naruto's fingers carefully revealed a small dark blue velvet box, smooth to the touch, and Hinata's gaze immediately fixated on it. Her heart quickened, at the sight, her cheeks burning red in no time.
"Oh, y-you-" The midnight-blue haired kunoichi faltered, rendered speechless, her gaze remaining planted on the jewelry box cradled in the palm of her lover's hand—a container concealing the true secret surprise Naruto had for her nestled within.
Naruto's eyes moved from his surprise back to her, presenting a warm, but nervous smile, "Hinata-chan, I've been thinking a lot about us, about our journey together," He began, his voice carrying a gentle sincerity.
Hinata's eyes widened with anticipation, "N-Naruto-kun..."
With a deliberate yet gentle motion, he opened the box, to finally reveal the true surprise he had for her. Finally revealed, there it lay, presented in all its glory for Hinata to feast her eyes upon.
A ring.
Encased in the deep blue velvet box lay a captivating silver cluster ring, exuding a subtle elegance. The ring sparkled with the radiance of three distinct jewels—a beautiful lavender amethyst nestled at its core, flanked by two shimmering white diamonds.
Varying in size, the white diamonds adorned the cluster ring like the gleaming stars in the midnight sky, augmenting the ring's overall dazzling effect.
The meticulous arrangement of the jewels, both at the center and along the ring, orchestrated a harmonious interplay of luminosity and splendor, rendering the ring a truly enchanting masterpiece.
It was a sight that left Hinata utterly breathless, finally witnessing such a masterpiece up close and personal—an affirmation of how far Naruto was willing to go and sacrifice in the name of love.
Hinata let forth a sharp gasp, one hand of hers flying up to cover her mouth in surprise. Tears formed in her lavender eyes almost immediately, threatening to spill.
"Oh my kami! It's so beautiful, Naruto-kun." She exclaimed into the palm of her hand, her lavender eyes shimmering with a blend of astonishment and joy as she meticulously examined the ring, almost tempted to pinch herself to verify if her reality was indeed real.
She has to be dreaming!
She has to be!
The realization that Naruto had taken the effort to select, no, purchase such a valuable gift deeply touched Hinata. She knew it wasn't Naruto's usual forte, especially when it came to orchestrating surprises, let alone scouring stores for an item in the romantic department—particularly a ring—for her.
But he did.
He did it anyway.
Despite Naruto's inherent lack of experience and sometimes oblivious nature when it came to romantic gestures and surprises, he consistently went above and beyond for Hinata.
The clear fact that Naruto pressed forward and ventured into this new territory of romance, with her on his mind, despite lacking experience in such an area, made Hinata feel incredibly content—like the happiest woman in the world.
It surpassed any gesture she had ever experienced, surpassing anything anyone had ever done for her.
For that, she was deeply grateful.
For a moment, Hinata just marveled at the intricacies of the silver ring Naruto held out for her, studying the lavender and white jewels that adorned it.
The more she examined it, the stronger her connection to Naruto grew, evolving into something even more profound. She found herself even more drawn to the man before her, appreciating the profound thought he had invested in such a gift—a symbol of his love.
Hinata's eyes welled more and more with tears, a mixture of joy and overwhelming love filling her being, "Oh Naruto-kun, you shouldn't have. Th-This is-"
Naruto chuckled nervously, once more rubbing the back of his neck, "Y-Yeah, I know it's a bit much. The ring was pretty expensive, almost broke my pockets—but hey! That doesn't matter!" He abruptly cut himself off with a loud exclamation, prompting a soft giggle from Hinata.
"Instead, what matters is that," His voice trailed off as he stared deeply into her eyes, losing himself in them, "I would do anything for you, anything at all, Hinata-chan, just as you would for me. I'm willing to sacrifice my all to ensure that you are happy." He declared, his cerulean gaze solemn, "I am willing to go to any lengths to show you just how much I love you."
His eyes fell down to the expensive ring in his possession, and his smile widened, "So, I wanted this to be something special, something that reflects how much you mean to me." He expressed with profound emotion, "I had help, of course, bringing this little shindig to life, but I did it, and I did it for you."
At that moment, Naruto gently brought the jewelry box closer, presenting the ring and all its splendor to her fully.
Hinata stared in awe the entire time, her heart pounding in her chest, her cheeks growing redder and redder. Her eyes never left Naruto; they remained fixed on him as he held the ring he had chosen for her in his grasp, extending it toward her.
"Hinata-chan, I wish to offer you this ring, but I want you to understand that it's not just any ordinary ring; it's a promise ring."
"A promise ring?" Hinata questioned in awe, her eyes shooting from the beautiful cerulean eyes that bore into her and the ring held out for her below.
Naruto nodded, "Yes, it's a ring that signifies a promise from me to you. A promise that I will always be by your side, no matter what obstacles are thrown our way, no matter how challenging life gets—I will stay here, with you."
The spiky-haired ninja beamed, a smile so big and warm that it made Hinata feel like she was going to melt, her hand falling down to her chest.
"Oh kami," Hinata marveled.
Naruto sighed softly, "Yes, we've been together for a year now, and I want you to know that I've cherished every day I get to spend with you. Every moment," He reached out, cradling the jewelry box in one hand.
He gently placed his extended hand on her cheek, giving it a caress with his thumb.
"every second," He breathed.
Naruto looked deeply into her eyes, and with sincerity, he continued, "You've single handedly changed my life completely. You have revealed so much to me, Hinata-chan." He began, his own eyes tearing up."
"You’ve shown me what true love feels like.  You have shown me what it feels like to have a life where I have a family to come home to, to take care of, to love as my very own."
He bit his lip, racing his thumb back and forth along his lover's cheeks just watching as Hinata slowly but surely came undone due to his words.
"Hinata-chan, you have brought nothing but love and compassion into my world, fulfilling everything I have ever wanted. You are my happiness, my love, and I want to stay with you, continuing this journey together, no matter what, ya know?"
Naruto couldn't resist a gentle coo as Hinata began shedding tears in response to his heartfelt speech. The fresh, wet tears cascaded down her already flushed face, words no longer enough to express how deeply touched she was.
Such tears flowed down Hinata's cheeks like shimmering streams, each droplet a visible affirmation of the profound emotions welling up within her. They glistened under the soft moonlight, tracing a path along her flushed face as a visual expression of the overwhelming joy and love that Naruto's words had stirred within her.
She began to cry, but Naruto stood prepared to comfort her; to wipe such tears away. His thumb moved ever so gently across her cheek, spreading the damp essence into her skin.
"And so, I don't want us to stop here, Hinata-chan. I am willing to forever be yours, if only," Naruto swiped his thumb across her face once more, marveling at the beauty in his possession.
His blue eyes twinkled, caught in the gorgeous pool of lavender, "you’ll be mine."
"Yes." Hinata proclaimed without hesitation, leaning her head further into his touch. She pulled her own hand up to drape it over Naruto's, to cradle his hand on her cheek, warming her up further.
"Oh Naruto-kun," She uttered once more, "I have been wishing my entire life for this very moment to come. I have loved you for so long, wanting to walk beside you, wanting to hold your hand in this world, and bring you the happiness you know now." She continued, "And now I have, and it has been a dream come true."
She sobbed, "You have been a dream come true, my love."
Naruto's eyes widened, his heart skipping several beats.
Hinata sniffed back her tears, raising her hand to gently caress his cheek, tracing her fingertips over each of his whispered birth marks.
The dark haired kunoichi hummed, "I, too, cherish every moment we've shared. It's everything I've ever wanted." She declared with croaks in her voice, but that didn’t stop her.
"My wish is to continually offer you all that you yearn for—love, happiness, warmth. I want to be there for you, always, in every aspect of life. You've become my everything, Naruto-kun, and I want to be your unwavering support, always by your side, in joy and in sorrow."
Naruto's eyes widened even further, if that was even possible at this point. Hinata's heartfelt revelations caused his heart to thud against his chest with an intensity that he feared it might break free from its confines.
He couldn’t believe his ears. He couldn’t contain his joy.
Hinata smiled. tightening her grip on his hand. She nodded with a tender affirmation, "So yes, I want to be yours forever, Naruto-kun."
In that poignant moment, as Hinata spoke those words, time seemed to momentarily freeze.
Naruto's breath hitched in the realization that the woman he cherished, the love of his life, was affirming his sweet declaration with a resounding yes.
His world felt transformed, bathed in the radiant glow of Hinata's acceptance.
Naruto found himself utterly captivated, unable to do or think of anything but marvel at the wonderful woman standing before him.
Nothing but gratitude flooded his entire being for having a lover like Hinata, one who not only wished to be with a knucklehead like him but was ready to embark on a journey of forever with him.
He couldn't resist reveling in the realization that Hinata was his promise girl, his precious girlfriend, and he eagerly anticipated the prospect of her becoming his wife—the future mother of their children.
The mere thought filled Naruto with a happiness so powerful that words couldn’t come close to expressing it. It was the kind of joy that made him want to leap onto the rooftops at that very moment, and scream to all of Konoha that Hinata was his lover, his beloved, his everything.
He yearned to proclaim to the entire village just how much Hinata means to him, hell, proclaim to the entire world.
A wide smile stretched across Naruto's face, nearly revealing all of his pearly white teeth, his whiskered cheeks aflame with the warmth generated by the sheer breadth of his lips. An antsy excitement pulsed through his body, urging him to dance and celebrate.
In joy, Naruto let out cheers, ones that could be heard from miles away.
"Oh kami, you have no idea how much that means to me, Hinata-chan! Arigato!" In that moment, he yearned to finally slip the ring out of its box, and slid it on Hinata's finger, to solidify their promise.
But before he could proceed, it was Naruto's turn to be stopped.
Hinata softly shifted her hand from his cheek to gently nudge his shoulder, a light giggle escaping her lips as Naruto froze in his tracks, his eyebrows furrowing with a hint of concern by her gesture.
"Wh-What is it, Hinata-chan? What's the matter?" He asked, a touch of worry coloring his words. Hinata, however, maintained her reassuring smile, signaling that there was nothing to worry about.
She shook her head, her midnight blue hair swaying with the movement, "Um, b-before we proceed, I th-think it's safe now for me to reveal that I too have a surprise."
"You what?" Naruto exclaimed loudly, genuinely taken aback. This was certainly not something he was expecting.
His heart skipped a beat.
"You do?" He questioned, his curiosity piqued.
Hinata giggled sweetly, "Yes, my love. And I believe it's best if we exchange our surprises at the same time. I think it would be more fitting that way."
The mischievous glint in Hinata’s eyes introduced an element of intrigue for Naruto, leaving the blonde eagerly anticipating what Hinata had in store for him—a plot twist indeed.
He rocked about, twisted, and danced in his spot, his excitement building as he watched Hinata turn away from him to retrieve something from her coat's pocket. She rummaged inside, getting what she needed in no time flat.
She rummaged inside, swiftly finding what she needed. But as she searched, Naruto couldn't resist leaning over, extending his body to catch a glimpse of what Hinata had retrieved, his excitement getting the best of him.
Sensing a shadow looming over her, Hinata glanced back, instantly capturing Naruto's mischievous gaze peering over her shoulder.
It was a fleeting instant between them, but the moment her lavender eyes locked Naruto's blue ones, he swiftly averted his gaze, whistling nonchalantly, feigning innocence as if he hadn't been peeking.
Hinata couldn't help but giggle at her boyfriend's playful silliness before she turned around, and presented the object she had retrieved—Naruto's own surprise—setting it in the palm of her hand before him.
"H-Here. I got you something too, N-Naruto-kun." She said with a shy smile. In that moment, Hinata revealed the surprise she had prepared, a sight that caught Naruto completely off guard.
His eyes widened almost to the point of bulging from his head at what he saw, his mouth hanging open in sheer astonishment.
He pointed at the black box in her hand, his blue eyes widened.
"No way," He exclaimed, his disbelief evident.
"You got me a ring, but how is this possible? How did we get one another the same-" Naruto's words trailed off, leaving him speechless.
Certainly, right before him, Hinata also presented a black velvet jewelry box, embellished with gold embroidery along the edges. The box appeared to be of the same size as the one he had given her, the one concealing…
'A ring? But how? How did Hinata end up with the same gift I got her? How did she know?' Naruto pondered to himself in disbelief.
Hinata giggled sheepishly at the bewilderment on her boyfriend's face.
She looked away, a hint of nervousness creeping in, "Um, well, I may have sort of..." She paused, briefly biting her lip, "heard you talking about the surprise you'll get me."
"What!" Naruto shouted in shock. He smacked his forehead, feeling like a complete baka, "Damnit, how could I be so careless-"
"Gomen!" Hinata apologized, "I came back from a mission just a few days ago. I then walked inside our home, went up to our bedroom, and heard you there, talking to yourself about a surprise you wish to give me." She nodded down at the box in her hand, "A ring." She pointed out.
"But that is all I heard!"
"Damnit." Naruto hissed, frustration evident in his tone. He kicked the ground with a pout, throwing a mini tantrum, "See, see!! I can't keep surprises; I always mess them up!" Naruto exclaimed with a groan, looking up at the sky, smothering his free hand over his face.
Hinata tried her best to suppress a giggle as her boyfriend seemed to revert to a child due to his inability to surprise her.
Even frustrated, throwing a fit, Naruto looked so adorable to her.
The lavender-eyed kunoichi shook her head, clutching his shoulder firmly, "It's okay, Naruto-kun, my love, really." She reassured, her gentle touch a comforting presence, "It's actually better this way."
Her lavender eyes sparkled with warmth as she looked up at him, offering a reassuring smile.
"How is it better?" Naruto whined, "I was supposed to be surprising you."
Hinata shrugged, "Well, I just figured now, wouldn't it be best if we got each other rings, ya know," She beamed, "as a couple!"
"Ahh, like couple rings, eh?"
"Yes!"
Naruto hummed, intrigued to say the least.
For the most part, he couldn't deny feeling a bit disappointed about not keeping the surprise he had planned for Hinata. He had hoped to seize that one moment to surprise her for a change.
Now, all the planning, all the hiding, the rapid search in the village and neighboring ones for the perfect gift for her, the quest for inspiration, and even pleading to the Konoha gang for help—all seemed to be in vain.
'Hinata heard me talking to myself, really?' Naruto groaned, shaking his head in disbelief.
He wasn't used to living with someone else yet, he must admit, but having his grand surprise found out in the stupidest way ever only heightened his desire to go ahead and whack himself in the face.
But then, he looked back at Hinata's face and grew breathless at the bright smile that was upon it, radiating like a beam of sunlight breaking through the clouds.
Her lavender eyes sparkled with joy, and the warmth of her smile seemed to illuminate the night, creating a captivating sight that deeply touched Naruto's heart.
At that moment, Hinata looked more beautiful to him than ever before.
And it was also in that moment that all the disappointment Naruto felt vanished, and instead, he was filled with happiness.
He appreciated how Hinata had gone out of her way to get him a ring in return, showcasing the very qualities he loved about her—her selfless, considerable nature.
The concept of couple rings seemed even more special now, and Naruto felt deeply flattered to receive such a meaningful and thoughtful gift from the woman he loved.
Naruto smiled.
Hinata's smile widened in return, her head lowering to open the black box in her grasp, revealing the ring she had chosen for Naruto.
His gaze descended to observe the contents, and once again, his mouth fell open in astonishment.
"My kami."
"You've given me mine, and now, here is yours."
Before him, the ring Hinata had presented was crafted entirely in gold, with an orange citrine taking center stage—a fiery hue reminiscent of a blazing sunset, resonating with Naruto's spirited nature.
The ring sparkled with intricate golden embellishments, each detail perfectly placed within its designated spot inside the case.
Such an exquisite piece not only captured Naruto's essence but also reflected the warmth and radiance of their shared love, symbolized by the vibrant gem at its heart.
Naruto was utterly blown away as he fixated on the glistening ring before him, his eyes welling up with tears.
He sniffed, overwhelmed, "It's... it's so incredible, Hinata-chan! You've truly outdone yourself, as always." He exclaimed, marveling at the ring, tracing its details with his gaze, "I love it, my love. This means the world to me. Arigato." He expressed gratitude, leaping in joy.
Hinata giggled, her laughter resembling a sweet melody. She was thankful to see that Naruto genuinely appreciated her gift, savoring the twinkle of awe in his gorgeous blue eyes.
"You're welcome. Anything for you, Naruto-kun." She looked affectionately at the ring held delicately between her fingers, its golden hues twinkling with each gentle touch of moonlight.
Then, her eyes shifted to her own ring, still cradled in Naruto's hand.
She smiled, "Shall we exchange?"
Naruto's face lit up with excitement at that suggestion. "I don't see why not!" He cheered, pumping one hand in the air. “Yeah, let's do it!"
At that moment, they formally exchanged their promise rings.
Naruto handed his to Hinata.
And Hinata handed hers to Naruto.
Their hands trembled ever so slightly as they swapped rings, a symbolic gesture sealing their commitment and fortifying their promise.
Naruto reached for Hinata's hand, sliding the silver ring he had chosen for her onto her ring finger. His touch was gentle, as if handling precious treasure, each movement deliberate and tender.
The ring was a perfect match, smoothly gliding down Hinata’s finger and snugly settling into place.
Hinata reciprocated the gesture, sliding the golden ring she had chosen for him onto Naruto's ring finger. Like a perfect match, it snugly settled on his finger, both rings demonstrating the precision of their measurements.
"I'm yours, Naruto-kun," Hinata breathed, her eyes shimmering with emotion.
Naruto grinned, his azure eyes mirroring the profound sentiments within, "And I'm yours, Hinata-chan. Forever and always, and that's a promise."
"Yes, a promise," Hinata whispered, "forever made, and forever kept."
"Oh Hinata-chan." Naruto took a breath before stepping forward to seal their connection with a kiss, a manifestation of the deeper emotions his heart harbored.
Their lips melded in a perfect union, a moment that felt just right to both, drawing them even closer.
Their promise, the exchange of their rings, and their very kiss marked the initial step toward a complete union, a merging of two souls into one.
Under the soft glow of the moon, they kissed, their lips meeting in a tender exploration of each other's emotions. The moonlight painted a silvery sheen on their entwined figures, casting a gentle radiance over the scene.
Their kiss deepened in no time with the steady rock of their heads, eager to imprint their love on every inch of each other's lips, delving deeper to explore the inner recesses of their mouths.
Naruto's tongue emerged, gliding out of his parted lips, granting Hinata's lips a gentle swipe—an unspoken request to enter her warm depths.
Hinata noticed Naruto's gesture and granted him access without any hesitation. She slightly parted her lips, enabling Naruto to slide his wet tongue deeply inside her mouth, exploring every nook and cranny—her teeth, gums, and eventually her own tongue.
Hinata met his fervor with equal intensity, her hands finding their place on Naruto's chest, where she could feel the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath her fingertips.
The night enveloped them, and the outside world faded away, leaving only the two lovers immersed in the joy of their newfound promise. The night air carried a subtle chill, but the heat generated by their joined bodies made them oblivious to the outside world.
Naruto's hands gently traced the curves of Hinata's back, drawing her nearer, intent on eliminating any lingering space between them. Hinata reciprocated with a gentle moan of contentment, her fingers tracing a delicate path up his body, entwining in Naruto's hair.
The promise rings they adorned gleamed in the moonlight, gracing their respective ring fingers as symbols of devotion. Lavender and orange hues sparkled, reflecting the celestial glow of the night, an exquisite fusion akin to fire and ice colliding, creating something greater.
Passion ignited between them, accompanied by a plethora of muffled moans.
Neither wanted the kiss to end.
Neither wanted to pull away.
However, inevitability set in as their breaths ran out, their lungs aching, forcing them to reluctantly pull away.
But their separation did not signal the end of their night of intimacy; rather, it marked the beginning. They had a promise to fulfill, to solidify but now…
deep in the sheets.
Naruto's hand slid down gracefully, encircling the small of Hinata's back, his large arm enveloping her petite form. The contact made her gasp, and a blush colored her pale cheeks.
Naruto hummed, his dreamy eyes locked onto hers. He sent a nod toward their home's front door, his blue eyes narrowing in that way that always made her squirm in want.
"Come on, let's finish this inside, shall we?"
The seductive shift in his voice sent a shiver down Hinata's spine, and she nodded eagerly, fully aware of what Naruto was implying–what both of them desired.
She hummed, "Yes, I desire that more than anything, Naruto-kun." She replied, her voice carrying a lingering promise.
With that, Naruto and Hinata finally headed inside their very own home to fulfill the rest of their promises in privacy, leaving the moonlit streets of Konoha all behind.
Im not too proud of it, so if you have any tips to improve my writing, please let me know .Want a girls' version or other characters or fandoms? Requests are open .
Narutomasterlist
Warning: none
Characters: kakashi , madara , hashirama , tobirama , itachi
Kakashi
So kakashi will take you out for dinner (ofc)
Count receiving your favorite flowers in
But it doesnt end there , when you finish eating he will take you to a nice lake that also gives perfect view to the sunset
If you want he will bathe with you in it and play waterfight with you
If not you both just chill around there with kakashi holding you close to him and compliments fir you will leave his mouth occasionsally.
"Its so beautiful here, kashi" you whisper while his thumb rubs circles on your hand . kakashi smiles ,his mask off and holds you closer. He looks down at you and a sigh escapes his lips. "But it cant compare to how beautiful you look" he whispers back . You chuckle a little and kakashi chuckles too. His other hand on your side moves slightly and you flinch(?) A bit . "Ticklish , are we?" Kakashi teases before going over to attack your sides more. The hand that once rested on yours is now tickling your other side. You laugh uncontrollably , tears of laughter in your eyes.
Oh and dont think it ends there .
When you get home late at night a clone has already prepared a rosepetal bath for you .
He will join you happily if you ask him to but if not he will stay outsude and massage your shoulders and wash your hair.
Madara
Oh he is taking you to the fanciest places and spoiling you rotten with expensive gifts.
In return? Madara honestly only wants your smile and love.
Madara is a softie for you so prepare to see him at his sweetest (and flirtiest) this day
But after visiting the fancy Restaurant and going shopping in expensive stores . When you both are in private now prepare to be cuddled and watch movies.
His work? He doesnt care , slacking off once wont hurt and youre way more important anyways.
If literally anyone disturbs you on this day madara is almost gonna jump on them.
Cant they see that he is spending valentines day with you? How disrespectful
So i mentioned movies . Even tho its valentines day madara wont watch those cheesy romance movies. He is fine with any movie but dont torture him with those.
If you decide to watch such movie anyways madara will not give any bit of attention to the move . In case he gets really bored he might even tickle you into changing the movie . But other than that he might just entertain himself with playing with your fingers or reading a book just so he doesnt have to see it. (Jeez madara we get it you hate cheesy romance stuff)
Actually now thinking of it , i think madara might like the hobbit and lotr (idk seems like he might like those)
Hashirama
I can see him wanting to take you for a picnic as a valentines day
Hashirama spoils you yes but other than madara he doesnt think valentines needs expensive stuff to be enjoyable .
He is simply a man with the spirit of a child inside. So yes this day will mostly be him having random ideas and you going with it or warching that he wont hurt himself trying to pick apples from that tree
But once you both get home tired he is always over you . Please just cuddle him , he doesnt need more on valentines day than your love.
Movienight? Sure . Other than madara he will watch those cheese romance movies but he wont watch those extreme horrormovies .
But if you put on a horrormovie , well , hashirama will be clinging onto you whenever he senses something bad happens .
(He will cry if the dog dies)
Tobirama
He took the day off work for you (like hashirana and madara)
He takes you to the Restaurant you had your first date in (even if its ichikarus ramen) and maybe take a nice stroll through the city with you , if you want it .
But other than that i see tobirama more staying at home and spoiling you there.
So much love and attention from him and all he wants is to prove that he loves you and he wants to see you happy .
Well now for a bit evil reader.... he is ticklish ,very ticklish and since he doesnt have work ,there is no valid excuse to stop you from attacking him. Do it.
The stoic tobirama will be on the floor crying-laughing and begging you to stop.
His laughter is the sweetest thing you will ever hear ngl .
Prepare for a random revenge tho . Youre trying to get a class from a cabinet? Too bad tobirama will be getting his revenge from earlier .
Other than hashirama and madara he honestly gives no fuck what movie you both watch as long as you're cuddled up in his arms
Itachi
Valetines is soent at home ,in private . Hes bringing you breakfast in bed and all the other things you want
If you want to eat in a resturant he wont say no but in all honesty why would you want that? Itachi cooks better than them.
Speaking of wich
Cooking together
Cake? Normal food? Or burning the kitchen down? Doesnt matter for him as long as youre there with him.
Itachi gets so playful while cooking or baking with you
Valetines day for itachi is something private and intimidate . He likes to soent it at home and just shower you in love while cuddling you .
Oh, and dont forget to praise him for his cooking . He will melt for ya (it's canon for me that itachi is a sucker for praises)
